Stop letting your flesh lead you into dangerous waters. This dynamic panel discussion with Dr. Valerie Crumpton, Pastor Venshard Dobbins, Pastor Cora Jakes, and Pastor Don Johnson follows up on Sunday's message, “Get Out of Your Way.” Their conversation highlights how we have the tendency to sabotage our own spiritual growth. Pastor Johnson shares how Jesus in Gethsemane reveals that most of us have a hearing problem, not an obedience problem; while Dr. Crumpton examines how the garden represents God's classroom where the process of life and death cultivates us. This Walk It Out Wednesday encourages us to refrain from coveting someone else's promise, but instead understand that the process is for you to become more like the One who ordains it. Questions Answered from The House: How do I know what God has promised me and fully serve Him? How do I remain in the process without getting distracted or discouraged? Do you discover your identity in the process or promise? Join this conversation and make sure to bring your questions every Wednesday! Horror movies are big business: this year, they've accounted for more ticket sales in the U.S. than comedies and dramas combined, bringing in over a billion dollars at the box office. And the phenomenon goes beyond a hunger for cheap thrills and slasher flicks; artists have been using horror to explore deep-seated communal and personal anxieties for centuries. On this episode of Critics at Large, Vinson Cunningham, Naomi Fry, and Alexandra Schwartz, along with the New Yorker culture editor Alex Barasch, use three contemporary entries—“The Babadook,” “Saint Maud,” and “Weapons”—to illustrate the inventive filmmaking and sharp social commentary that have become hallmarks of modern horror. “In the past, the horror would be something external that's disrupting a previously idyllic town or life. Now there's a lot more of: the bad thing has already happened to you,” Barasch says. “You already have a trauma at the beginning of the film—or even before the film begins—and then that is eating you from the inside, or trying to kill you, and you have to grapple with that.”Read, watch, and listen with the critics:“The Babadook” (2014)“Rosemary's Baby” (1968)“Scream with Me,” by Eleanor Johnson“Hereditary” (2018)“The Substance” (2024)“Saint Maud” (2020)The “Saw” franchise (2004—)“The Exorcist” (1973)“The Case Against the Trauma Plot,” by Parul Sehgal (The New Yorker)“Weapons” (2025)“Barbarian” (2022) “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” (1974)“Get Out” (2017)“Alien” (1979)“The Blair Witch Project” (1999)“Talk to Me” (2022)New episodes drop every Thursday. In part two of our Halloween specials, things go bump in the night as we look at what we're calling the Black Horror Canon—horror films that feature Black heroes and protagonists, majority Black casts, or stories rooted in the Black experience. We resurrect some true classics like Night of the Living Dead, Blacula, and Candyman, then creep our way into more modern examples such as Attack the Block, Get Out, and Nope. We even touch on Black horror comedies like Tales from the Hood and The Blackening. Along the way, we ponder why some Black characters don't make it past the first act, Black audiences' long and complicated relationship with horror both on screen and in real life, and what keeps all of us coming back to horror—the genre that just won't die!

A New Way to Lead: Danny Wareham on “Constellations” and Culture as the True Leader. In this episode of Get Out of Wrap, Martin Teasdale sits down with Danny Wareham, author of Constellations and founder of Firgun, to explore a revolutionary new way of looking at leadership. After nearly two decades in corporate life, Danny took redundancy and embarked on a master's-level journey into organisational psychology — a path that led to Constellations, a book redefining what leadership really means.Danny shares the thinking behind his four-year research project: that leadership isn't about a single figurehead, but about creating environments and cultures that lead themselves. From the psychology of trust and team dynamics to the lessons organisations can learn from the military and small businesses, this conversation challenges every assumption about hierarchy and control.Whether you're a contact centre leader, manager, or just passionate about building better teams, this is an episode that will change how you think about leadership forever.

It begins with a doll — not just any doll, but one that walked and talked with no batteries, then knocked from inside a closet as if something alive had taken hold of it. Decades later, the fear resurfaces at a place locals call the Hollow Chapel — a cemetery scarred by rumors of fire, madness, and a priest's final act of horror. Armed with recorders and bravado, Lena and her friends expected silence or maybe whispers. Instead, they came face to face with something no one could explain: a shadow rising, hands slamming onto a car hood, and a voice that thundered through their speakers with one chilling command… “GET OUT.” What connects a battery-less doll with a chapel soaked in legend? Is it coincidence, or proof that hauntings carry intent — a will that wants to be seen, heard, and feared? This is more than a ghost story. It's a confrontation with the possibility that the dead are not just lingering, but reaching out with purpose. Send us a textIn this wildly entertaining episode of Nobody's Talking, the usual male-dominated atmosphere gets shaken up when two women – Jess and Queen – join the conversation, creating what the hosts jokingly call an "ebony and ivory" mix. The chemistry is immediate as this diverse group dives into subjects ranging from cannabis culture to the future of AI, all with the podcast's signature unfiltered approach. The cannabis discussion proves particularly enlightening as Queen shares her expertise in creating various THC products, from Sweet Potato Pie to tinctures. Her knowledge sparks stories from the hosts about edible experiences gone wrong, highlighting the universal warning that everyone ignores: "just eat half." These personal anecdotes lead to deeper conversations about the differences between today's cannabis products and "the reefer" of decades past. When the conversation shifts to entertainment, passionate debates emerge about Jordan Peele's films, with the group analyzing everything from "Get Out" to his newest release "Him." Adam Sandler movies become another hot topic, with "That's My Boy" receiving particularly high praise. The group's shared enthusiasm for "Game of Thrones" and "Ozark" reveals how these shows have become cultural touchpoints that bridge different backgrounds and experiences.Technology mishaps provide some of the episode's biggest laughs, particularly the story of someone airdropping inappropriate photos to an entire airplane. This leads to fascinating speculation about AI and robots, with Queen confessing she finds her AI assistant "better than my therapist." The group's musings about how close we are to living like "The Jetsons" shows their shared curiosity about the future.Regional differences add another layer to the conversation as Queen, who recently relocated from the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area to Arizona, shares perspectives on everything from driving patterns to haunted attractions. Her stories about converted prison haunted houses from the East Coast have the Arizona crew reconsidering their local thrill-seeking options.Ready for more unfiltered conversations? Imagine living across from a graveyard for forty-three years — and slowly realizing your home has become a mirror image of The Amityville Horror. That's the reality Katie faced in Oyster Bay, Long Island, in a story so terrifying it left her with PTSD. At first, the haunting was subtle. Certain rooms in the house carried an oppressive heaviness, so overwhelming that Katie, an empath, could barely enter them without running out. Then came the footsteps — heavy, deliberate, pacing the upstairs hallway night after night. She thought it was her father. He thought it was her. Neither of them were moving. Soon, things escalated. Unplugged electronics. Doors opening. Nights spent downstairs while footsteps thundered up and down the staircase with no one there. But nothing could prepare Katie for the night it revealed itself. After turning off her TV, she rolled over and saw a massive black figure standing in her room — tall, thin, something like a Slender Man cloaked in shadow. Frozen in fear, she cried herself to sleep, only to wake to its growling voice: “GET OUT. I'M GOING TO HURT YOUR SISTER.” Moments later, she heard her sister screaming from the room next door. Paralyzed, unable to scream for help, Katie whispered for her stepmother — a former cop — but no sound came. The terror left her in a trance until she collapsed back into sleep. In the morning, she learned the family dog had been defecating in her room out of fear, and her stepmother admitted she'd seen the same dark figure entering Katie's bedroom for years. This is Oyster Bay's real haunting. A story of shadow men, family terror, and a presence that refused to leave. #Amityville #TrueGhostStory #RealHaunting #ParanormalStories #HauntedHouse #ShadowMan #OysterBay #RealGhostStories #ParanormalActivity #DemonicEncounter Love real ghost stories? What if the only thing standing between you and your true potential… is you?Rip welcomes Kori McClurg, author of the new book Get Out of Your Own Way. Kori's journey from self-loathing to self-love is one of courage, vulnerability, and the transformative power of plants.Like so many, Kori spent years battling the weight of diet culture, mental health struggles, and a body that reflected her inner turmoil. But through honesty, self-compassion, and a shift to a whole food plant-based diet, she discovered a new path — one that nourished both her body and her spirit. Here's what you'll take away from her story:Vulnerability is power — When we open up about our struggles, we create space for healing.Food is medicine — Shifting to a whole food plant-based lifestyle can dramatically improve health and vitality. It's not about willpower — Real change happens when we address the emotions behind our habits.Self-compassion changes everything — Treating ourselves with curiosity and kindness opens the door to growth.Start small, move with grace — Sustainable transformation comes from compassionate, incremental steps.Kori's story is a reminder that transformation doesn't start with a strict diet or sheer determination — it starts with love.
