Tatra 87 (1936) 4. Citroën DS (1955) 5. Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz (1959) 6. Chevrolet Corvair (1959) 7. Saab 96 (1960) 8. Toyota Land Cruiser J40 (1960) 9. Jaguar E-Type (1961) 10. Shelby Cobra (1961) 11. Volvo P1800 (1961) 12. Aston Martin DB5 (1963) 12+1. Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray (1964) 14. Messerschmitt KR175-200 (1964) 15. Alfa Romeo Giulia Súper (1965) 16. Alfa Romeo 1600 Spider Duetto (1966) 17. Jensen Interceptor (1966) 18. NSU Ro80 (1967) 19. Citroën SM (1970) 20. Plymouth Road Runner Superbird (1970) 21. De Tomaso Pantera (1971) 22. Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 (1972) 23. AMC Pacer (1975) 24. Renault 5 Turbo (1980) 25. Alfa Romeo Giulietta (1981) 26. Ford Sierra Cosworth (1986) 27. Ford Escort Cosworth (1992) 28. Honda Civic Type R (1997) 29. TVR Sagaris (2004) 30.

In Episode 102 of the BaT Podcast: Sports Car Market Editor and Publisher, Keith Martin (BaT username: 330america), talks about his wildly varying career arc; formative times on a tractor in Novato; vintage Volvos; a $30 Bugeye as a first car (and one uniquely suited to the utility paths at Golden Gate Park); being driven into the arms of Alfa Romeo by a prototypical experience in an MGA; one of many tough aspects of recovery from a stroke; Sportomatic stories; Alfa SS hot-rodding tips; going "skinny" after years of fat tires; perhaps the least likely use of a dance degree from Juilliard; what counted as a "classic" car in 1968; vintage page layout software; the "secret sauce" of SCM, then and now; doing old car things in new cars, and vice versa; the current structure of the magazine and a plug for subscriptions; the most loving use of the terms "troll" and "reeducation program"; the importance of adhering to one's standards no matter how times change; one inescapable truth about any car collection; and absolute faith in the next generation's love for cars. The Jaguar E-type name is iconic, but not so much in the USA. There it was known as the XK-E. But whatever the name, it's a car that's like no other. And it's looks are backed up with handling born from motor racing; this wasn't a car that was all flash and no substance.
I call this episode, The Dishwasher and the E-Type. You'll see why. I'm talking about the Jaguar E-Type, of course. Has there ever been a more iconic car? It's dyed in the wool Great Britain, but here in the good ol USA, it was called XKE. Have a question or story to share? You can reach me via email: 928reb@gmail.com

A creator of restored luxury vehicles thatcombines classic English beauty with modern performance. Currently, ECDrestores Land Rovers Defenders, Land Rover Series IIA, the Range Rover Classicand the Jaguar E-Type. Each vehicle produced by ECD is fully bespoke, a one-offthat is designed by the client through an immersive luxury design experienceand hand-built from the ground up in 2,200 hours by master-certified AutomotiveService Excellence ("ASE") craftsmen.
ECD Automotive Design CEO Scott Wallace joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share news the company is gearing up for an exciting year ahead in 2024 as the first publicly-traded "restomod" company. Firstly, ECD anticipates a strong financial performance for 2024 with revenue projected to be $33 million, an impressive increase of over 50% compared to anticipated 2023 revenue of $22 million, and gross margins expected to be 35%in 2022 to 38% in 2024. One notable achievement is that ECD's core Defender North production line is already completely sold out for 2024. This, combined with the introduction of the Jaguar E-Type and an undisclosed new model on the South production line, means that ECD has already secured binding orders of over 80% of its total 2024 production capacity. To accommodate this increasing demand, ECD plans to add another manufacturing line to its Rover Dome facility in Kissimmee, Florida. This expansion aligns with its commitment to sustainable growth and positions the company for long-term success. ECD's growth plans also include consolidating the ecosystem that surrounds the luxury auto client. This is a $15 billion industry that is highly fragmented. In addition to these exciting developments, ECD has unveiled Project QE, a stunning Defender 110 that seamlessly blends modern amenities with classic British heritage. This vehicle boasts a powerful LT1 V8 engine with 450 horsepower, making it not only visually striking but also a high-performing daily driver. With its classic grille, bumper, and 6-point roll cage, Project QE pays homage to its English roots while offering a comfortable and powerful driving experience. All in all, ECD Automotive Design is poised for a prosperous 2024, driven by strong demand for its customized vehicles and a commitment to quality and innovation. #proactiveinvestors #ecdautodesign #nasdaq #ecda #LuxuryCars #CustomVehicles #AutomotiveInnovation #CarEnthusiasts #VehicleTransformation #UniqueDesigns #LuxuryLifestyle #CarCustomization #BritishCars #SUVMakeover #AutoTech #InnovativeDesign #ClientDrivenExperience #ExclusiveCars #AutomotivePassion #CEOInterview #LuxuryVehicleMarket #FutureofAutomotive #CarUpgrades #IconicBritishCars #YouTubeInterview #AutoIndustryInsights #FinancialOutlook #CarDesignProcess #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

Adam Ashmore is an Oakton, Va resident by way of the UK, who two-and-a-half years ago shipped over his 1969 Jaguar E-Type ("XKE" in the North American market) Series 2 handed over to him by his father in 2007. On this episode of the Vienna Cars & Coffee Podcast, Adam shares what's under the bonnet of this 4.2L straight-six engine right hand driver, the update that cost today about the same as the purchase price was for this classic in 1985, the light modifications made to drive the Series 2 in the modern world, and the track experiences Adam continues to share with his father that makes this vintage British heirloom the gift that keeps giving.
There's a new Z in town and Jason has driven it! In this episode of the Carmudgeon Show, award-winning automotive journalist Jason Cammisa and award-deserving automotive encyclopedia Derek Tam-Scott discuss the 2023 Nissan Z. And the Jaguar E-Type. And Bridgestone S007 tires. And Aston Martin Vantages — V8 Vantages with blown engines. And Gordon Murray T.50s. Derek takes a turn for the nerdy by pointing out that British tax-horsepower regulations encouraged the tractor-like long-stroke engines that sapped some of the fun out of the 1960s sports cars. But not the Fairlady Z432, which Jason thinks might be the best-sounding six-cylinder engine of all time — up there with the Mercedes 300SL “Gullwing.” Mostly, though, this episode discusses Z — from the new one back to the original S30 240Z and Fairlady. Including the VR30DDTT engine that originally debuted in the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 — though it's derived from the port-injected R35 Nissan GT-R. And what episode would be complete without a highly legal street drag race between two BMW E30 325is? Certainly not this one.
Assembled at breakneck speed by our team of dedicated layabouts, we present the 62nd episode of Bangers & Classics. In this one, David goes into hiding again (for fear of getting a hiding), the Jaguar E-Type wafts languidly into the Banger or Classic courtroom, the boys look at MPVs (remember them) for sale, and the Citroen ZX finds itself in the DangerZone.

Janet Weiss is a drummer, multi-instrumentalist and all around stand-up rock n roll human from Portland, Oregon. In this episode Janet shares her experience making the new Quasi and why it was important to be in "touring shape" prior to going into the studio. Joe and Janet discuss how her recovery from a serious car accident may have prepped her for the involuntary touring break most musicians have endured and how's she's put her "doer" personality into practice in order to feel good, or at the very least, not feel bad. Naturally, the two drummers talk Get Back, Ringo, Neil Peart, Stella Mazgowa and why too many peacocks in one band is a bad idea. Another thing that Joe and Janet have in common is their love for cars. You'll hear about a few of Janets favorite cars, what she prefers to tour in and why. New Segment alert! Borrowing from Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, Joe and Janet play Drummers In Their Favorite Cars Getting Coffee With Their Favorite Drummers. "Sag mir, was Du möchtest!"

Before he travelled to the event Kevin Turner (Chief Editor, Autosport) was joined by two guests who have raced there in previous years - Marcus Pye and Ben Anderson. Ben shares his memories of racing a Chevron B37 around Silverstone, and all compare their favourite circuit layouts over the years. Also as it's the 60th Anniversary of the Jaguar E-Type, we recently put Ben in two examples at Brands Hatch to tell us about the experience.

The Jaguar E Type is arguably the most beautiful car ever made, by arguably the most unreliable car maker ever founded. Is it worth buying, and if so, which one is best? Steve and Adam are on the case this week to find which Jag you should fill your garage with.
Jaguar E-type In this week's episode, I cover the Jaguar E-type, also known as the XK-E in North America. This impressive sports car was first produced in 1961. Not only did the car have impressive performance, utilizing technology developed in 24 hours of Le Man racing, this car also looked amazing, being called "the most beautiful car in the world" by Enzo Ferrari. The car would go through 3 series with the last version being given a V12 engine. Thanks for Listening! Music: Finally by Loxbeats https://soundcloud.com/loxbeats? Y decidió volver a fabricarlos.

Recently the BMW head of design's Domagoj Dukec said that design is “not about pretty or ugly” as looks are completely subjective. True, but we can't stand the new design language of the German brand! At least we have something pretty to please our eyes as Jaguar reviled his homage project to the E-Type, with a super limited re-built of their masterpiece that turned 60 years old. Furthermore some rumors about upcoming Pagani Huayra R and EV Aston Martin in development and set to be out in 2025!

Plus more of your questions are answered.
There is nothing more instantly recognizable from the 90s than Austin Powers. From the late 90s to the early 00s, Mike Myers and crew took us on a shagadelic ride from the Swingin’ 60s London to a “time where greed and corruption ruled again” (the 90s). With bad teeth, velour suits, and a free love worldview, Myers burned his classic groovy persona into our brains (along with the villainous Dr. Evil, of course). They are hands down still some of our all-time favorite movies and characters from the 90s. But do they hold up today? Join Eric and me as we hop into a groovy 1999 New Beetle and head to the colorful, fuzzy, love-filled world of Austin Danger Powers and reminisce about the franchise that taught American 90s kids what the word “shag” means. So pour a martini (shaken, not stirred) and hop in - and don’t you dare lose your mojo along the way. Warning, contains spoilers!

Show #833 Good morning, good afternoon and good evening wherever you are in the world, welcome to EV News Daily for Wednesday 8th June 2020. It’s Martyn Lee here and I go through every EV story so you don't have to. Thank you to MYEV.com for helping make this show, they’ve built the first marketplace specifically for Electric Vehicles. It’s a totally free marketplace that simplifies the buying and selling process, and help you learn about EVs along the way too. Welcome to new PRODUCER GRANTON SMITH Welcome to new PRODUCER KEITH A KLIPSTEIN POLESTAR 2 "What we have in effect here is a slightly high-riding, five-door, all-electric hatchback that plays the role both of mass-market leader and rival disruptor to the Tesla Model 3. The Polestar 2 will initially be launched in a single model, that’s available with or without an optional £5000 Performance Pack. Prices starts at £49,990 not including the £3000 government grant, and comes with a very long standard equipment list including a full active safety suite, a glass roof, heated and electric seats front and back, a premium sound system, active LED lights all around, 19-inch alloys , the Polestar 2 will be launched with a 400bhp electric powertrain, all-wheel drive and single high-standard specification in order to rival mid-level Model 3s." says evo.co.uk: "The model we’re driving today includes the Performance Pack, which brings high-end Öhlins dampers and a chunky Brembo brake package to the party, amongst other equipment upgrades, but the question of what the Polestar 2 actually is here is less relevant than the big one facing it. Consider this Volvo interior 2.0 – excellent build quality, materials are mostly excellent and the new Android-based tech is top-notch." https://www.evo.co.uk/polestar/202863/polestar-2-performance-pack-review-verdict-specs-and-prices TESLA BEGINS MODEL Y HEAT PUMP NOISE CANCELLATION RETROFITS "Tesla has started retrofitting an acoustic blanket over the Model Y’s heat pump to reduce the amount of noise it produces. Covering the Model Y heat pump was a suggestion made by Sandy Munro during his teardown of the Tesla SUV crossover. According to TSLA supporter @hwfeinstein, a Tesla Mobile Service ranger came to his house to retrofit his new Model Y with an acoustic blanket." reports Tesmanian: "it seems that Tesla has started retrofitting Model Y heat pumps with acoustic blankets if requested by owners. In a follow-up comment, the Model Y owner referenced someone whose Tesla crossover was already equipped with an acoustic blanket. So it appears that acoustic blankets now come standard with newer Model Y units. So people who received one of the Model Y vehicles from the Fremont Factory’s first batch may need to request an acoustic blanket retrofit " TESLA HIRES GUY BEHIND APPLE PAY TO LEAD SUPERCHARGER EXPERIENCE. WHAT YOU WANT TO IMPROVE? "Tesla has hired the product manager behind Apple Pay to lead the Supercharger experience. Yesterday, Michael Rihani announced on LinkedIn that he left his position as senior product manager for Apple Card and Apple Cash at the Cupertino, California, company to join Tesla as the new product manager for “Supercharger User Experience and Strategy.”" writes electrek: "With strong increases in sales in many markets, Tesla owners are experiencing some long wait times at Supercharger stations in places like Los Angeles and the Bay Area." https://electrek.co/2020/07/08/tesla-hires-guy-apple-pay-lead-supercharger-experience/ JAGUAR EV-TYPE: TRADEMARK FILING HINTS AT ELECTRIC F-TYPE SUCCESSOR "Jaguar has registered to trademark the name Jaguar EV-Type, further fuelling speculation that the brand’s next sports car will be electric. The trademark, which is still pending according to the WIPO global brand database, was first applied for in mid-February." reports Autocar: "The name EV-Type appears to be a reference to the iconic Jaguar E-Type sports car of the 1960s and 1970s. This, along with the fact that the only Jaguar model still using the ‘Type’ suffix is the F-Type, adds considerable weight to the assumption. One stumbling block would be the need to spend big on developing a bespoke platform for an electric sports car, although this issue could be helped if Jaguar Land Rover extends its budding collaboration with BMW." https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/jaguar-ev-type-trademark-filing-hints-electric-f-type-successor LOTUS PLANS TO OBLITERATE THE BUGATTI CHIRON "The Lotus Evija, the 2,000-horsepower electric flagship that will pioneer the next-generation of sports cars from the automaker, is not targeting low-speed acceleration. Lotus wants its car to beat the supercars where they thrive—closing in on 200 mph as fast as possible." says Jalopnik: "Gavin Kershaw, test driver for Lotus, spoke to Top Gear about the work going into the electric Evija supercar, and the sort of performance benchmarks it’s being compared to. Apparently, Lotus is really concerned with destroying Bugatti’s 0-186 mph acceleration in just 12.4 seconds and they claim they can shave the time all the way down to just 9 seconds." He said: "“I’ve driven some of the Formula One cars - even the T125 with 1,000 horsepower-per-tonne - and they’re quite brutal. This has got such strength and growth – it’s a bit like going up the runway where you’re pushed back in your seat and held there. It’s a lovely sensation.”" https://jalopnik.com/lotus-plans-to-obliterate-the-bugatti-chirons-12-4-seco-1844283764 MERCEDES-BENZ CONFIRMS 100 KM/62 MILES OF ELECTRIC RANGE FOR NEW S-CLASS PHEV "Mercedes-Benz is slowly revealing bits of its all-new S-Class model, codenamed W223. the plug-in hybrid variant will have a claimed electric range of 100 kilometers or 62 miles." according to InsideEVs: "Mercedes does currently sell a plug-in hybrid model with a claimed range of almost 100 km (62 miles), the GLE350de. It’s a diesel PHEV with a maximum claimed electric range of 99 km (61 miles) thanks to a 31.2 kWh battery pack. We don’t expect the new S-Class PHEV to have this diesel-electric system, but it will probably share its battery with the plug-in GLE." https://insideevs.com/news/432683/mercedes-s-class-phev-100km-62miles-range CHINA: TESLA SOLD* ALMOST 15,000 MIC MODEL 3 IN JUNE Made-in-China (MIC) Tesla Model 3 sales in China surged in June in the end-of-quarter rush, reaching its all-time high of almost 15,000*. In addition to the Silicon Valley Studio at Lucid’s Newark, California headquarters, an initial round of eight locations due to open in 2020—prior to first deliveries in early 2021—will be in Beverly Hills, Century City, and San Jose, California; Miami and West Palm Beach, Florida; Manhattan, New York; and Tysons, Virginia." https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1128777_lucid-nationwide-service-air-electric-car-20-stores-open-by-late-2021 2021 AUDI A7 55 TFSI E PLUG-IN HYBRID PRICED AT $75,895 "The 2021 Audi A7 55 TFSI e PHEV slots into the A7 lineup as the fuel efficient detour between the standard, 48-volt mild-hybrid A7 and the amped-up S7. Audi figures all A7 PHEV models could claw back as much as $6,712 in federal tax credits. As a result, you could actually get an A7 PHEV Premium Plus for less than a mild-hybrid A7 Premium, after the federal tax credit." says Autoblog: "its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is bolstered by an electric motor tucked between the engine and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Fisker is yet to announce any partnership to manufacture the vehicle." https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/louis-bacon-backed-fund-invests-50-million-in-ev-maker-fisker/ar-BB16usPL [mention for Premium Partners] You can listen to all 832 previous episodes of this this for free, where you get your podcasts from, plus the blog https://www.evnewsdaily.com/ – remember to subscribe, which means you don’t have to think about downloading the show each day, plus you get it first and free and automatically. Meet Bakur Azher of Saudi Auto, he is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's most senior and established motoring journalist. His journey started through a love affair with a Jaguar E-Type and subsequently starting the country's first dedicated automotive publication. He's seen a lot of change and development over the near three decades since, including an evolution of the carscape and the kind of motors driven there, and women taking the wheel on the streets of Saudi. Jaguar E-Type kallas ofta för världens sexigaste bil. Varför? Det försöker vi reda ut i dagens program där du dessutom får möta Sveriges kanske mesta bilputsare. Kenneth har kollat in en helt unik Jaguar som stått orörd sedan 1973. Nu ska den få nytt liv. Vi får besök av författaren Britta Sjöström och Bobbo levererar något så sällsynt som en nästan positiv fördomsprofil.
In this episode, Jason and Derek contemplate a recent BringATrailer auction where a 1971 Datsun 240Z sold for $315,000 ($310,000 plus fees.)It’s a well-known thing in the collector car world that rarity is often a multiplier for any inherently desirable car’s value. It’s simple supply and demand. It follows, then, that cars produced in extremely limited numbers, like the Toyota 2000GT, would be expensive, but mass-produced common cars like the Datsun 240Z wouldn’t. Except for one factor; cars that were once common and cheap often suffer from high attrition rates; and when they reach collectible age, nostalgia puts a big price premium. In the case of this 240Z, Derek Tam-Scott postulates that the difference between this car’s rational value (at max, $150,000) and its actual sale price (double that) is due to that effect.Additionally, as Hagerty pointed out in a recent meeting, Japanese cars were largely ignored by Baby Boomers, and as Gen X and Millennials gradually begin to drive collector-car prices, Japanese cars are poised to do well. Jason Cammisa agrees, and adds that cars prevalent in video games (like the Cosworth Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evo II and Nissan Skyline) will experience huge values because of their presence there. The boys also discuss cars similar to the 240Z, such as the Nissan Fairlady Z432, a Japanese-market Z with the Prince S20 racing engine from the original Hakosuka Skyline GT-R, the Jaguar E-Type and its Lightweight variants. And Jason recounts a recent story of his Scirocco 16V gathering attention on the streets because it once was such a common shape but disappeared so slowly that people don’t realize the hole in the heart — until they see one and the flood of memories come back. Long story short: despite this unexpected auction result, a car’s value is still related to rarity. But we can add “scarcity” to that for cars that were once common but are now rare. The Carmudgeon Show is a comedic, information-filled conversation with Jason Cammisa and Derek Tam-Scott, two car enthusiasts who are curmudgeonly beyond their years. Proving you don’t have to be old to be grumpy, they spend each episode talking about what’s wrong with various parts of the automotive universe. Despite their best efforts to keep it negative, they usually wind up laughing, happy, and extolling their love for cars. Which just makes them angrier and more bitter.Jason Cammisa is an automotive journalist, social-media figure, and TV host with over 250 million views on YouTube alone. Jason’s deeply technical understanding, made possible by a lifelong obsession with cars, allows him to fully digest what’s going on within an automobile — and then put it into simple terms for others to understand. Also, a Master’s Degree in Law trained him to be impossible to argue with. Derek Tam-Scott still tries. He’s a young automotive expert with old-man taste in cars, and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering — which means he knows how to be civil to Jason. Or at least he tries. With a decade and a half’s experience buying, selling, driving and brokering classic and exotic cars, he’s experienced the world’s most iconic cars. And hated most of them. Thursday 29th March 2018. TESLA After a stock rout on Tuesday, another day today when Tesla lost over 7% of its value. Of course none of this makes any difference to the products it makes or how much people love the brand. No doubt it will bounce back, and as I’ve said before this isn’t a financial podcast, but the bigger picture is how the mainstream media will start to prophesize the end of electric cars. THE ELECTRIC MINI REVEALED A YEAR EARLY At the New York International Auto Show yesterday we saw an Electric Mini a year before we were meant to, but this was a Mini Cooper from the 1960s which has been converted to electric with a single motor. Would you like one? Yeah, me too. But you can’t buy it. It’s a one-off model. And a clever way to get us talking about electric minis without showing off the real thing yet. The 1960’s classic mini shape is known around the world and wouldn’t it be amazing if they just made a handful of them for sale. A bit like the recently Fully Charged video with Johnny Smith which featured a converted Jaguar E-Type. Back to the Mini Electric proper, that will arrive in 2019 for the 60th Anniversary of Mini. Of course for now we have to make do with the PHEV Mini Countryman, or the i3 which I’ve heard will be a donor for drivetrain bits. VW ATLAS PLUG IN CONCEPT Also at the New York International Auto Show, VW showed off a plug in version of their Atlas Cross Sport. Technically at this stage a concept BUT close to production. The ICE is coupled with motors on the front and rear axles, and a respectable 18kWh battery. That’s good for 26 miles / 42kms on pure electric. Production is slated for next year in Tennessee. EVS NOW EQUIVALENT OF 80MPG A recent analysis showed that EV drivers save 2.3 times as much as those driving ICE cars, and now engineers at the Union of Concerned Scientists has more good news. An EV now gets has the equivalent emissions of a gas car that gets 80 miles to the gallon, and if you can find one of those, then good luck. Fast Company says: “In the Pacific Northwest, where most power comes from hydro, EVs get the equivalent of 96 MPGs. In California, which has plenty of solar, the equivalent is 109 MPG.” Engineer David Reichmuth said: “It’s difficult to make burning gasoline cleaner, and electricity is trending cleaner over time as we shift away from coal and add more renewables. This means that EVs that were sold years ago can run much cleaner than when they were purchased,” NATIONAL GRID SUPPORTS 2030 ICE BAN Graeme Cooper is the UK National Grid’s electric car grand poobah, and he told the government yesterday that if we moved the 2040 ICE ban forward to 2030, the grid could cope. Yes you can still make a coffee and charge your car! He said: “A deadline of 2030 would still give us enough time to cope with any changes that need to be made. We would support a more ambitious target. It provides a clear focus and allows the networks industry to respond appropriately. Even if you left the 2040 target in place, I think the number of people still buying a conventional petrol or diesel car before that deadline will be a short list. “It’s important on a world stage that the UK matches our neighbours. Norway is the most ambitious with a target of 2025.” NISSAN LEAF WINS “2018 WORLD GREEN CAR” Another story from the Auto Show currently in NYC, and Eric at InsideEVs reports that a pure BEV has won the “World Green Car” award for the first time. He writes: “The three finalists for the award were: BMW 530e iPerformance vs Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid vs Nissan LEAF. Upon receiving the award, Nissan’s Daniele Schillaci, Executive Vice President, Global Marketing and Sales, Zero Emission Vehicle and Battery Business, said: “We’re very proud that since Nissan LEAF launched in 2010, we’ve been able to put more than 300,000 zero-emission electric vehicles on the road worldwide, helping to reduce carbon footprints around the globe. We’re honored to be recognized by this esteemed jury and proud to continue to expand the vision of Nissan Intelligent Mobility.” TWO NEW MECHANIC TRAINING SCHEMES Long time podcast listeners know I’m worried about the huge industry of mechanics, both working for large dealers and local one-man-band independents. Not only will EVs require fewer visits to the car hospital, but they need retraining urgently. Firstly today Tesla started a new training programme called ‘Tesla Start’. Graduates should get a job with Tesla within 30 days of a graduation but will have to relocate. It’s a 12-week course in North Carolina or California. And in the UK today Allianz Worldwide Partners has teamed up with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) to create a new electric, hybrid and PHEV vehicle training programme for roadside recovery. Skill requirements include identifying AC and DC voltages, as well as high voltage symbols, cabling and components, during maintenance and repair. PORSCHE MISSION E SPIED TESTING Teslarati have a video worth checking out of the Porsche Mission E at the infamous Nurburgring circuit. They say: “Porsche recently took its Mission E prototype to the Nurburgring in Germany, where it was spotted speeding through one of the tracks’ iconic turns. As could be seen in a brief clip featuring the upcoming all-electric high-performance sedan, the Mission E was able to go through the exit of Brunnchen in classic, aggressive Porsche fashion. VW TO SELL TWO EV MODELS BY DEC 2019 California already has the e-golf on sale but, one of the conditions of the settlement has been noted by Green Car Reports, and that’s by the end of 2019 VW has to have two more pure BEVs on sale in the state. We know the VW I.D. is coming, if it looks like and Golf and quacks like a Golf, it’s probably a Golf by another name. For clarity, it’s the I.D. and not a Golf replacement. But that might not be on sale in North America in time. So you’re looking at the Audi e-tron Quattro SUV to fill one gap, and the other the Porsche Mission E. WIRELESS CHARGING HITS THE ROAD Finally we’ve had some hard news, now for the speculations. And would you look at the time, it must be time for another story about wireless charging. Because they come around like clockwork. The University Of Colorado in Boulder have made progress with charging whilst on the move. Professor Afridi explained: “On a highway, you could have one lane dedicated to charging,” adding that a vehicle could simply travel in that lane when it needed an energy boost and could carry a smaller onboard battery as a result, reducing the overall cost of the vehicle. The Hooniverse Podcast just turned 30... that means we have to straighten up, fly right, and act our age.Jeff Glucker and Blake Z. Rong don't though. They're incapable of doing so, and this episode clearly demonstrates that. The duo are back together after way too much traveling. Blake was doing his famous automotive journalist thing while Jeff was off attempting to be a famous automotive journalist.Being pack at full strength in the podcast palace means the talk starts with beer, then on to new cars, before we delve into older machines. We talk about the Koenigsegg One:1, the Tesla Model S fire, driving a three-on-the-tree 1954 Ford Ranch Wagon, and how a Jaguar E-Type can change ones perspective on life.

--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/hooniverse/support
