On this episode of Star Trek Universe, Effie and Dave beam down to Sigma Iotia II — the planet that found a book about Chicago mobsters and decided to run with it! From fedoras to tommy guns, the Iotians built an entire society modeled after 1920s gangland culture, maman. Now the warring “bosses” want the Federation to supply them with heaters for their escalating turf war. It's one of the funniest and most iconic episodes of The Original Series, blending sci-fi satire with pulpy gangster style. Dave likes to think of it as “A Private Little Cosplay” — but you'll know it better as Star Trek 2x20, “A Piece of the Action.”

Today we welcome Ellen Lunay, the founder of Here: A Pop-Up Shop in Annapolis, whose life took a dramatic turn when a routine mammogram in August 2022 revealed breast cancer. At 54, at the same moment she'd just dropped her oldest daughter off at college and was prepping for her fall pop-up shop, Ellen found herself walking through surgery, radiation, business care and motherhood all at once. In this episode, El opens up about what carried her through: the power of community over competition, learning how to ask for help, embracing grace and boundaries, and why sharing your story matters. If you're navigating a health challenge, a business hurdle, or wondering how to build meaningful connections in your life, you'll want to hear this. In this episode: How Ellen discovered the diagnosis and how she responded immediately. Why the community she built through her business became one of her greatest supports. The difference between being the giver and being willing to receive help. How naming your story actually helps calm your nervous system and guide decisions. Why rest, grace and boundaries are essential — especially when you're used to “hustle.” What's changed for Ellen for the better since her diagnosis — how she now shows up differently in business, in motherhood, in life. Words of encouragement for anyone facing big change or a health scare: how to breathe, how to advocate, how to accept help. This episode was brought to you by Leading Lady Coaching. Whether you known him as Sasquatch, Bigfoot, Yeti, Thla'Thla, Sninik, or something else, you've heard the legends - the stories of the hairy mountain man who lives, as writer John Zada says, "in primeval nature and collective memory." And today, we're plunging deep into Canada's ancient forests to find him. But make no mistake - this isn't Bigfoot searching like you've seen before. There are no infrared cameras, scanners, or traps. Instead, we'll follow John as he listens and learns from Canada's First Nations peoples, framing his investigation within a greater story of indigenous myth, community, and sacred land. When John first began hearing about a flurry of Sasquatch sightings, he was visiting the Heiltsuk Nation in British Columbia on an unrelated assignment. But he couldn't shake the stories from his mind. Intrigued, he decided to embark on a trip dedicated entirely to following these stories to their roots. And in so doing, he uncovered something that goes much deeper than footprints or rumors. This is a story about monsters - but it's also one that tells us about ourselves. And along the way, it's about the power of myth, the need for environmental activism, and the tangled webs of our own psyches. Speaking Truth in Love: The Weight of Avoidance in Pediatric Metabolic Health After completing the second round of our Asthma and Obesity Metabolic Pilot Program at Salisbury Pediatrics, I left the clinic reflecting deeply on what I witnessed. It crystallized a truth that is uncomfortable but undeniable: the greatest health threats to our children today are not infectious or accidental, they are metabolic. Diseases once reserved for adulthood: insulin resistance, fatty liver, hypertension, early vascular aging are now appearing in children who should be free to run, play, and thrive. In modern society, conversations about weight and metabolic dysfunction have become relatively taboo. This is not to say that children of normal or low weight are immune; they, too, can be at risk. However, the excess-weight group carries the highest statistical burden. Too often, clinicians hesitate to speak truth to families for fear of offending, shaming, or overstepping. In doing so, we risk silence becoming complicity and allowing preventable disease to take root in the very children we are charged to protect. Much of this epidemic is not born of individual failure but of systemic neglect. Government-funded, poor-quality school meals, cheap processed foods, and relentless marketing of sugar and refined carbohydrates have built an environment where metabolic injury is almost inevitable. When a child's daily fuel is engineered for shelf life instead of cell life, the outcome is not accidental, it is predictable. Our pilot program lab results are a painful window into that truth.... and a literature review on eczema and anaphylaxis. Enjoy Dr. M

This week on The Pet Pig Podcast, Autumn takes on one of the most emotional and misunderstood topics in the pig world: Can you support both rescues and ethical breeders? For many people, the words "breeder" and "rescue" feel like opposing sides of a battle, but Autumn makes the case that both are not only important—they are absolutely necessary for the future of pet pigs. In this heartfelt and informative episode, Autumn unpacks why breeders as a whole often carry such a negative reputation. She shares her frustration with the many bad breeders who mislead families with myths about "teacup" or "micro" pigs, starve piglets to keep them small, or breed irresponsibly without any regard for health, temperament, or quality of life. These unethical practices have fueled mistrust and left countless families heartbroken—and countless pigs surrendered to rescues. But Autumn also highlights the vital role ethical breeders play in protecting and preserving the future of mini pigs. Ethical breeders carefully select pairings with health, size consistency, and temperament in mind. They raise piglets with intention, provide proper weaning and care, require spay and neuter contracts, and offer lifetime support to families. With only a handful of registered breeders in the United States compared to hundreds of rescues, the balance is fragile—and without ethical breeders, the genetic line of mini pigs would quickly deteriorate. On the other side of the conversation, Autumn shines a light on rescues and the indispensable work they do. Rescues step in for pigs who have been abandoned, neglected, hoarded, or given up when families were misled about size or care needs. They provide medical care, spay and neuter surgeries, food, shelter, and love to pigs who otherwise might not survive. Yet rescues face overwhelming challenges too: financial strain, the high cost of pig feed and veterinary care, the need for strong fencing and enrichment, and in some cases, the heartbreaking reality of becoming overwhelmed or unable to provide proper care. What Autumn challenges listeners to see is that it doesn't have to be an either/or choice. Ethical breeders and ethical rescues are not enemies—they are allies. Breeders safeguard the future of the mini pig by raising healthy, well-adjusted piglets and educating families before adoption. Rescues protect the pigs who fall through the cracks, giving them a second chance at life. When both are supported, pigs win. If you've ever felt pressured to "pick a side" between adopting or buying from a breeder, this episode will encourage you to rethink that black-and-white perspective. It's not about choosing rescue or breeder—it's about supporting those who are doing right by pigs, no matter their role. By working together, rescues and ethical breeders can create a stronger, healthier, and more compassionate future for pigs everywhere. How well do you really know your vendors? Are your cybersecurity defenses keeping up with modern freight threats? Listen to Ben Wilkens for Day 2 of the 2025 NMFTA Cybersecurity Conference as he talks about the growing overlap between cybersecurity, cargo theft, and vendor management in transportation! We cover why third-party vendors are often the weakest link, how simple steps like multi-factor authentication (MFA) can stop most attacks, and why using the NMFTA's vendor checklist should be a standard practice for every carrier and broker. Ben also breaks down how cybercriminals are blending digital scams with physical theft, using tactics like phishing and fake carrier setups to exploit gaps in vetting and process discipline, why technology alone can't fix broken operations, and how consistent vetting, digital hygiene, and collaboration across the industry are key to protecting freight! About Ben Wilkens Ben Wilkens, CISSP, CCSP, CISM, is a Cybersecurity Principal Engineer at the National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc. (NMFTA)™. In his role at NMFTA, Ben spearheads research initiatives and leads teams dedicated to developing cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies, methodologies, and strategies to safeguard information systems and networks. Ben provides expert insights and recommendations to organizations, enhancing their security posture and helping them navigate the constantly evolving landscape of cyber threats. Before joining NMFTA, Ben was a key executive at a third-generation family-owned trucking and logistics company. There, he focused on the strategic integration of technology to improve operational efficiency while ensuring adherence to cybersecurity best practices. With a rare combination of CISSP, CCSP, and CISM certifications alongside an active Class A CDL, Ben brings a unique perspective to the intersection of cybersecurity and transportation. In addition to his extensive experience as an over-the-road driver, he has held roles in dispatch operations, driver management, and brokerage sales. Ben later transitioned to IT and operations support, where he honed his expertise in cybersecurity.

The 1979 script is playing out — but this time, the ending is different. $3,500 isn't the top. It's the launchpad. In today's interview with Daniela Cambone, Gareth Soloway breaks down his stunningly accurate call for a gold correction, explaining that while the pattern mirrors the 1979 parabolic surge, the outcome will be far more explosive. “In 1979 when we topped out, it literally took almost 30 years for gold to make a new all-time high. I think we make a new all-time high within six to 12 months,” Soloway states. After predicting the recent drop, he now maps out the path ahead: “I still think gold is going much, much, much higher… once we get down to the third support and my max drawdown level, that's really where I start buying for the longer term again.” He reveals his next major target, asserting, “I think the next push takes out those all time highs, tags 5,000. I don't even think that's the end of the bull run.”✅ FREE RESOURCESDownload The Private Wealth Playbook — a data-backed guide to strategically acquiring gold and silver for maximum protection, privacy, and performance. If you want to make it as an entrepreneur, you need two things: crazy ideas — and to be crazy enough to believe they'll work. In this video, I share the story of how a wild, out-of-the-box idea — creating a custom Christmas album for financial advisors — turned into a $30,000 business opportunity. It started as a spark of creativity in my little music studio and grew into something that opened doors I never saw coming. Sometimes people will look at your ideas and say, “That's dumb.” But that might just be the reason it works. Entrepreneurship requires faith, resilience, and the willingness to believe “why wouldn't this work?” — even when no one else does. In this video, you'll learn: - Why “crazy” ideas often lead to real success - How to turn creativity into profit - The mindset shift that keeps entrepreneurs growing - How to find people who champion your vision instead of tearing it down Takeaway: Don't bury your creative spark under doubt or fear of failure. The world needs your unique, crazy, beautiful ideas — and you're the one crazy enough to make them real. Show Notes: Join the Newsletter! Want to see the live interview on video? What Is a One Percenter Property?Yesterday, I dropped a video about “Passarounds and Loose Women on the Motorcycle Set” — and let's just say, it stirred up some conversation. One person who took me to task was Classy Outlaw, a 1%er Property Of who had a lot to say about what it truly means to be a Property Of in a 1%er motorcycle club. So today, we're opening up the discussion to get her perspective and shed some light on a part of MC culture that's often misunderstood. The Conversation You Need to HearWe'll talk about:What “Property Of” really means inside a 1%er motorcycle clubHow women in this role are protected, not degradedThe honor and loyalty that come with being connected to a 1%er brotherhoodAnd why so many outsiders — including some bikers — get it completely wrong Featuring: Classy Outlaw – A 1%er Property OfShe's speaking directly about what life looks like behind the scenes — the respect, the boundaries, and the code that defines her place in the culture. This isn't about gossip; it's about education, clarity, and respect for the life chosen by those who live it.
Drunk Biker Causes Bus Fire – 20 Dead | Plus: MC Protocol TalkToday on Black Dragon Biker TV, we're covering one of the most tragic motorcycle-related stories in recent memory — a devastating accident that led to the deaths of 20 innocent people. The Tragedy – Kurnool Bus Fire, 20 DeadIn Kurnool, India, police have filed charges against Shivashankar, the biker responsible for a horrific bus fire that claimed 20 lives — even though he himself died moments before the explosion.According to reports, Shivashankar and his passenger, Erriswami, had been drinking before getting on the bike.
