The Mark B Perry Interview Mark B Perry is the writer and producer of the new Dark Shadows Reincarnation series currently in preproduction. Mark B. Perry grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, where his childhood love of Carl Reiner's The Dick Van Dyke Show inspired him to pursue a writing career-after all, doing what Rob, Buddy, and Sally did all day sure looked like a great way to make a living. Because the University of Georgia lacked a prestigious film school at the time, Mark cobbled his own degree together from film and TV classes in the Henry W. Grady School of Journalism, supplemented by studies in play-writing, acting, directing, and cinema in the theater department. Before graduating with a bachelor's in broadcast journalism, Mark won the Claude P. Callison Award (or "Claudie" as it was known back in the day) for excellence in filmmaking by a student. After a brief sojourn writing and producing industrials for the local newspapers and a variety of companies including Southern Bell, General Motors, and Oral-B, Mark moved to Los Angeles in 1986 where he worked as an office temp by day while churning out sample feature screenplays and television scripts by night. Two years later, a chance viewing of a new series called The Wonder Years changed his trajectory forever. Mark's spec script for that top-ten show led to a freelance episode and a staff writer gig where the highlight of his first day in the room was the announcement that his spec script, "Summer Song," was to be purchased and produced as the premiere of the 1989-90 season. After racking up eighteen writing credits on The Wonder Years, a Humanitas nomination for his Thanksgiving episode, "The Ties That Bind," and his first producer title, Mark went on to write, produce, and sometimes serve as show-runner on such diverse series as Northern Exposure, Picket Fences, Moon Over Miami, Law & Order (which still sometimes gets him excused from jury duty), Party of Five, Push (to this day a sensitive subject), Time of Your Life, Pasadena, First Years, That Was Then, One Tree Hill, Windfall, and What About Brian. After helping to successfully launch the second season of ABC's Brothers & Sisters in 2007, Mark was a co-executive producer on CBS's Ghost Whisperer, then an executive producer on the first two (and arguably best) seasons of ABC's Revenge, followed by a stint as executive producer on NBC's Heartbeat. In 2018-19, Mark wrote the first season finale of Netflix's Dolly Parton's Heartstrings, "Two Doors Down," an LGBTQ-themed episode starring Academy Award-winners Melissa Leo and Ray McKinnon and directed by Wendy Stanzler. As a writer-producer on the first season on David E. Kelley's Picket Fences, Mark shared an Emmy Award for Outstanding Dramatic Series. For his "Falsies" episode of Party of Five, Mark was nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award for Best Achievement in Dramatic Writing. And for his writing and producing services on that same series, Mark shared a Golden Globe Award for Best Drama. Ally gives his predictions in terms of who he thinks will win the playoffs and we reflect on the predictions that we made at the start of the season. We discuss whether it is better having constant games or a break during the playoffs and whether the structure of them is correct. A couple of Ally's old clubs have had successful seasons but there is surprise news with Ray McKinnon leaving Queen's Park after they won League Two. The Lowland League proposed that Celtic and Rangers colts teams join the league which we both agree is ridiculous and a slap in the face for those teams who are trying to climb the pyramid. If there's one story regular listeners of this show have heard a lot, it's the story of how I got my first television editing the #1 show on cable at the time - Burn Notice (having ZERO television experience at the green age of twenty-nine). I tell this story often because it's a great example of how experience doesn't have to be king when it comes to getting jobs. Many of the students in my coaching & mentorship program come to me hoping to make a transition in their career where they have the skills already but they don't have the specific experience. I was in that very same position when I landed my dream job editing Burn Notice. Here to lend a unique perspective to my “Burn Notice story” is ACE Editor Steve Lang, the catalyst for getting that job. Steve has cut over 120 hours of television in the past 24 years and worked on such shows as The Practice, The Gifted, Preacher, Rectify, and Manifest, to name just a select few. IN February Cammy Bell linked up with manager Ray McKinnon for a third time after he joined Queen's Park. The Spiders had voted to end their 152 years as an amateur club and McKinnon made a move for Bell as they prepared to go full-time this summer. Cammy joins us for a revealing feature-length Episode 9 and lifts the lid on why he was persuaded to drop down to League Two. He tells us why he thinks his manager at Rangers Ally McCoist would have been more appreciated if he'd been a boss in a different era. He recalls the day when the squad were asked to take a paycut and why they all chose not to - and remembers away days to lower division clubs when all the Rangers players couldn't fit in the changing rooms. Ford v Ferrari (titled Le Mans '66 in the UK and other territories) is a 2019 American sports drama film directed by James Mangold, and written by Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, and Jason Keller. It stars Matt Damon and Christian Bale, with Jon Bernthal, Caitriona Balfe, Tracy Letts, Josh Lucas, Noah Jupe, Remo Girone, and Ray McKinnon in supporting roles. The plot follows an eccentric, determined team of American engineers and designers, led by automotive visionary Carroll Shelby and his British driver, Ken Miles, who are dispatched by Henry Ford II and Lee Iacocca with the mission of building the Ford GT40, a new racing car with the potential to finally defeat the perennially dominant Ferrari racing team at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France. In early stages of the film's production, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were cast in the starring roles, but those plans fell through. Mangold was then hired in February 2018, and Damon, Bale, and the rest of the cast joined that summer. Filming began in July 2018 in California and lasted a little over two months. Ford v Ferrari had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival on August 30, 2019, and was theatrically released in the United States on November 15 by 20th Century Fox. He’s already been nominated for a 2010 Spirit Award for his role as “Lonzo” in the indie "That Evening Sun," opposite legendary actor Hal Holbrook. McKinnon, by the way, won an Oscar of his own back in 2002 for his work behind the camera on a short, "The Accountant."

It'd got to end at some point, can it be Wednesday please? The other semi saw Motherwell continue their fine form as they advanced to next month's final at Hampden. It was a week in the Premiership where subs played a vital part and there were two comeback wins. Partick Thistle got their first league win of the campaign while Ross County won for the first time at home. There is brief discussion too about Ray McKinnon's future at Dundee United as he is expected to not last much longer. McBookie have odds on the next manager. The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Sundance Channel Star Jayson Warner Smith. He will discuss discuss his career and his show Rectify. Best known for his portrayal of Wendall Jelks on SundanceTV's Rectify, Jayson has recently been working all over the Southeast from Wilmington, NC to New Orleans. With roles on FOX's Sleepy Hollow and in the films, 99 Homes and Mississippi Grind, Jayson has been busy working with wonderful film makers and show-runners such as Ramin Bahrani,Ray McKinnon, Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden. He also found time to star in and play a supporting role in the films Heavy Water and Beacon Point respectively. Both are small budgeted high-end Atlanta produced independent films.
