The Clare Immigrant Support Network says new migration reforms approved by Government today are urgently needed to resolve issues with the International Protection system. The new laws which are part of the EU migration pact, will come into effect next July and will see mandatory three-month deadlines for processing applications. Additionally immigration officers will be given power to enforce deportations without ministerial sign off.
