The United States, taking orders from Benjamin Netanyahu, just restarted direct strikes on Iran after another choreographed flare-up in the Strait of Hormuz. The so-called ceasefire and all those high-level “peace” missions by JD Vance, Jared Kushner, and Steve Witkoff were theater from the start.
Is modern wellness actually making us healthier... or just more anxious? Are peptides like BPC-157 and TB-500 safe? Can I be aroused if I have low libido? Double board-certified physician associate Ashley Madsen is here to give one of the most refreshingly honest conversations on modern health, longevity, hormones, peptides, nervous system regulation, and the growing culture of optimization. She explains why social media has turned wellness into a full-time job, why personalized medicine matters more than following influencers, and why emotional health may be the missing foundation beneath nearly every aspect of physical performance. Ashley also delivers one of the clearest explanations you'll hear on peptides like BPC-157 and TB-500, hormone replacement therapy, libido as a vital health marker, wearable technology, nervous system regulation, nitric oxide, cardiovascular health, and why many people are chasing expensive biohacks while neglecting the fundamentals that truly move the needle. You can't earn your salvation. So why does so much of Christian culture make you feel like you have to?In this episode of the Stress Less series, we look at Philippians 2:12-13, one of the most misunderstood verses in the Bible. "Work out your salvation with fear and trembling" has been used to load young Christians with anxiety and the constant question, "Is God disappointed in me today?" But Paul isn't telling you to earn anything. He's telling you to live out what God has already done.We talk about why a small view of Jesus produces a small reverence for Him, how the enemy's plan isn't to make you doubt Jesus exists but to make you think He's small, and how a big view of God leads to the freedom of a stress less life. Plus, why "it is God who works in you" is the cure for comparison, grind culture, and chasing social currency. After the Amen question: Where do you see God at work within you?Watch the full Philippians "Stress Less" series here on our channelSupport: amenpodcast.com/donateStudy Guide: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nF99NLglCf7vD2Em9WadvCLmWOzDzfV-/view?usp=sharing This is a public episode. Marty Hofman built a multi-million dollar real estate operation from a single $5,000 duplex, but what he's really known for isn't the portfolio. He's the founder of OKC REIA, the host of the Kill Complacency podcast with over 180,000 downloads, and the author of "Complacency Kills: Stop Drifting and Start Living the Life God Designed You For." He's also a husband of 24 years to his wife Ginger, a father of six, and a man who has built his entire life around one relentless idea: complacency is always at the door. In this conversation, Marty and Larry get into the Seven F's framework, why "I want to be more intentional" is meaningless without specifics, how your environment will eventually defeat your willpower, and what it actually looks like to fight for your marriage and your kids at the same time. If you've ever felt like you're living on autopilot and you can't quite put your finger on why, this episode was made for you. Marty is a husband, father of six, real estate investor, podcast host, and author who has given his life to helping men kill complacency before it kills everything they care about. This is Episode 1496 of the Dad Edge. Marty's book just dropped in May and this conversation is everything you'd hope for from a man who doesn't just talk about living with intention, he's built an entire framework to help you do it every single day. Timeline Summary [1:02] Marty joins the show and Larry kicks things off with a quote that anchors the whole episode: "The enemy of intention is complacency" [2:18] Why complacency isn't a one-time enemy you defeat — it keeps knocking, every single day, like Oreos on the kitchen counter [5:22] "Your environment will eventually trump your willpower" — Marty and Larry debate where willpower ends and environment takes over [8:46] Why saying "I want to be more intentional" is not enough — and what it actually takes to turn that into a real behavior change [10:43] The difference between a vague goal and a measurable one: phone away at the door, greet your wife by name, make it specific [12:34] Todd Herman's insight on the first 45 seconds of any interaction and why Marty puts it to work every time he walks through the front door [14:04] Larry introduces Marty's full background — the $5,000 duplex, the Kill Complacency podcast, the Seven F's framework, 24 years of marriage to Ginger [30:27] How intentional actions become identity over time — and why date night stops being a discipline and starts being just who you are [32:16] Why putting your marriage on the front burner is the best thing you can do for your kids, not despite them [36:50] Faith as a daily decision — how Marty grew up in a Christian home of 10 kids, went to Bible college at 18, and met Ginger there [43:16] Six kids, ages 9 to 22 — how Marty stays intentional across the board by protecting Friday family night like a funeral-level commitment [51:33] Parenting adult kids and the part nobody talks about — Marty tells the story of his son Ezekiel, video game addiction, homelessness, and what it means to show up when your kid can't have a conversation [57:54] Why we have to let our kids fail — and why praying for your child to hit rock bottom is one of the hardest, most loving things a parent can do [1:00:29] Where Ezekiel is now — working construction, up at 5am to read his Bible, completely transformed [1:02:04] Where to find Marty, the Kill Complacency assessment, and the book that just came out May 12th Five Key Takeaways Complacency is not something you defeat once. It comes back every day, in every area of your life, which is exactly why intentionality has to be a daily practice, not a one-time decision. "I want to be more intentional" means nothing without specifics. Put your phone in the car on date night, greet your wife by name when you walk in the door, and schedule one-on-ones with each of your kids. Vague goals produce vague results. Your environment will eventually beat your willpower. If you want to change a behavior, change what you're surrounded by first, whether that's removing the cookies from the counter or getting away from friends who make the habit harder to break. Prioritizing your marriage over your kids is not selfish, it's the most important thing you can do for them. When your kids feel the security of a strong, affectionate marriage, they feel safe. When that foundation cracks, they feel it at 9 and still feel it at 39. You have to let your kids fail. As painful as it is to watch, failure is where they learn best and sometimes the most loving thing a dad can do is stay in relationship, keep showing up, and pray for them to hit the bottom they need to hit to climb back up. Whether it was the moment he described greeting Ginger by name when he walked through the door, the Friday night family tradition his kids now look forward to, or the raw honesty of watching his son Ezekiel hit rock bottom and praying for it to happen so he could finally come back, this conversation was a reminder that intentional living isn't a personality type. It's a daily decision. Share this one with a man in your life who you know is drifting. He needs to hear it. And if this episode moved you, subscribe, leave a review, and help other dads find the show. Go out and live legendary.

The White House and their cable news propagandists spent all week selling a fake peace deal with Iran. Anyone who bought it got played. Israel is now on a full war march through Lebanon, seizing land and openly admitting they will keep taking it. They are also grabbing chunks of Syria
A lot of people treat quitting drinking like it's something they can start whenever they want. They think, “I'll quit after this trip.” “I'll quit after the summer.” “I'll quit after my birthday.” “I'll quit when work calms down.” “I'll quit after the holidays.” “I'll quit when I feel more ready.” or “I'll try again tomorrow” On the surface, that sounds reasonable. It sounds like you're making a plan. It sounds like you're choosing a better time. It sounds like you're saying, “Yes, I know this needs to change, but I'm going to wait until I can really focus on it.” But the problem is that readiness is not always available. Sometimes you get a rare moment where everything lines up in a way that lets you finally see the truth. Maybe you wake up with anxiety that feels different this time. Maybe you're exhausted from disappointing yourself. Maybe you're tired of making rules and breaking them. Maybe you're tired of waking up and trying to piece together what happened. Maybe you're tired of pretending it isn't as bad as it feels. Maybe you have one of those moments where the denial drops just long enough for you to think, “I can't keep doing this. Something has to change.” The mistake people make is assuming that moment will still be there tomorrow. When we're hurting, it's natural to reach for anything that makes the pain stop. After infidelity, that might look like seeking reassurance, checking a phone, staying busy, venting repeatedly, or even rushing back into closeness before real healing has happened. In this episode, I explore one of the most important distinctions in recovery: the difference between relief and repair. Relief isn't wrong. Sometimes we genuinely need it. But relief and healing are not the same thing. Relief quiets the discomfort temporarily. Repair changes us at the root. I share examples of how we often reach for quick emotional relief without realizing we're bypassing the deeper work that creates lasting peace, trust, and confidence. If you've found yourself stuck in recurring cycles of fear, suspicion, hypervigilance, or emotional exhaustion, this episode will help you identify what's really happening beneath the surface and show you how to begin building the muscle of true healing. In this episode, we cover: The difference between emotional relief and emotional repair Why reassurance-seeking can keep you stuck How to rebuild trust in yourself after betrayal Hidden relief habits that look healthy on the surface Why discomfort is often required for lasting healing If you're ready to stop settling for temporary relief and start creating real change, I'd love to help. A stranded explorer on Jupiter's frozen moon discovers that the greatest danger is not the brutal landscape but the choices made when desperation takes hold. When an alien race reveals powers far beyond human understanding, Hugh Betancourt must decide whether some discoveries are too valuable to bring home. Star Of Panadur by Albert De Pina and Henry Hasse. That's next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast. Henry Hasse has appeared on the podcast before, but today marks the Lost Sci-Fi Podcast debut of Albert dePina. Albert Robert dePina was born in 1901 in Havana, Cuba. Like many writers from the pulp science fiction era, very little is known about his life. Between 1943 and 1954, he published just ten stories, four of them co-written with Henry Hasse. dePina passed away in 1956 at the age of 55, less than two years after the publication of his final story. Turn to page 65 in Planet Stories, March 1943, Star Of Panadur by Albert dePina and Henry Hasse… Next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast, A young god wagers billions of years on a daring experiment that every elder around him expects to fail. That exhaustion that lingers months — even years — after treatment ends has a name: cancer-related fatigue. And for too long, survivors were simply told to live with it. In this episode of the Grad School Femtoring podcast, I sit down with my friend returning guest Camila Lacques-Zapién, a coach who supports academics, creatives, professionals, and leaders. Together, we explore what compassionate accountability really means and why so many first-generation, BIPOC, and community-centered individuals have learned to associate accountability with pressure, shame, or overwork instead of care and self-trust. Drawing from our coaching experiences, we discuss how creating supportive and relational spaces can help people reconnect with their values, honor their capacity, and reach their goals more sustainably. Throughout our conversation, we examine how accountability can be rooted in consent, self-awareness, and compassion rather than external expectations. We discuss common barriers that keep people feeling stuck, including burnout, fear, guilt, shame, and limited capacity, while also exploring how coaching creates space for reflection, creativity, and more grounded decision-making. Whether you're navigating graduate school, building a creative practice, leading others, or pursuing your next professional goal, this episode offers a framework for moving forward in a way that honors both your humanity and your aspirations. In this episode, you will learn: How to redefine accountability as a practice grounded in consent, self-trust, and compassion. Why separating your identity from your work can reduce shame and increase clarity. How to identify the underlying reasons you feel stuck before trying to push through. Why honoring your capacity can strengthen long-term progress and follow-through. How coaching creates space to reflect, build self-trust, and make values-aligned decisions. Social Security is back in the headlines, with warnings about trust fund shortfalls, benefit cuts, and proposed reforms creating anxiety for retirees and pre-retirees alike. But before making emotional decisions, it's important to understand what is actually at risk, what Congress is likely to do, and how to build a retirement income plan that works regardless of future changes. Richard Rosso breaks down the latest Social Security concerns, including Larry Kotlikoff's recent warnings, the program's unfunded obligations, and the legislative proposals currently being discussed in Washington. We examine whether claiming benefits early truly protects retirees from future cuts, why delaying benefits can dramatically improve retirement income, and how coordinating Social Security with pensions, savings, annuities, and investment portfolios may help create a more reliable retirement paycheck. And we talk Rhubarb pie. We also review potential reforms, including changes to payroll tax caps, CPI calculations, customer service improvements, workforce modernization, and bipartisan efforts aimed at strengthening the long-term sustainability of the program. Most importantly, we discuss how to run multiple retirement income scenarios so that uncertainty becomes part of the plan instead of a source of fear. 0:00 INTRO 1:01 - Social Security Cannot Go Away 2:36 - Taking SS Early doesn't guarantee no benefit cuts in 2032 3:27 - Larry Kotlikoff - "Horrific News" 5:50 - Social Security's Unofficial Debt & Coming Legislation 7:57 - Don't Panic: Plan It (Coordination of Benefits) 8:51 - Potential Changes Upcoming - running the scenarios 11:46 - The Best Retirement Combination (Retirement Nirvana) 13:45 - Creating a Paycheck in Retirement - Annuity Structures within 401k's 17:14 - The Benefit of Delaying Benefits - doing the math 18:34 - How Congress Might Make up the Difference 22:40 - Maintaining Standard of Living in Retirement 23:06 - Phasing out cap on SS Payroll Taxes 24:55 - Safeguarding American Families & Expanding SS Act 25:12 - CPI-E 26:31 - SS System Employee Count 28:10 - Making tax deductions permanent 30:04 - Senior Citizens' Freedom to Work act 32:48 - SS Customer Service Act vs upgrading systems 34:02 - The Autofill Act 35:00 - The Bi-partisan Social Security Commission Act 36:09 - Narrative Busters tease Hosted by RIA Advisors Director of Financial Planning, Richard Rosso, CFP Produced by Brent Clanton, Executive Producer ------- Do you enjoy our content? If your coaching business feels harder than it should, this episode will help you understand why.Candy Motzek sits down with Dr. Heather Tucker, Business and Life Harmony Coach, certified trainer of over 400 coaches, and host of the Freedom Fridays Show, to get into what's really underneath the overwhelm, self-doubt, and exhaustion that coaches feel even when they're doing everything right.Dr. Heather talks about the crumpled paper metaphor, that pattern of expanding when things are good and crumpling when they're hard, and how to stop living there. She shares how she redefined fear while supporting her husband, a Purple Heart Marine Corps veteran, through serious health challenges, and how that experience became the foundation of her work helping coaches win their inner world so they can master their outer one. They also talk about the Connection Advantage framework, why claiming your leadership identity is the first step to attracting dream clients, and why 80% of great coaching is simply listening. This one's honest, warm, and genuinely useful.Grab the free course, Stop Guessing and Start Signing Clients, and start building a coaching business that's actually yours: https://candymotzek.lpages.co/vfo/Want to see what's actually working for coaches right now? This episode is brought to you by Aligned for Wealth™, a free 3-part experience designed to help you stop paying the high cost of misalignment. Replays end July 2nd! ✨ About This Season: The Anatomy of Alignment This season of Redefining Wealth is dedicated to unpacking what alignment really means — not as a buzzword, but as structure. We're dissecting how misalignment impacts each of the Six Pillars of Wealth — FIT, PEOPLE, SPACE, FAITH, WORK, and MONEY — and what it truly costs when we tolerate what drains us. Each episode builds on the last. So subscribe and journey with us as we move from awakening… to redefining… to actualizing. Episode Summary In this season finale, Patrice reflects on one of the most powerful lessons from the Anatomy of Alignment series: the difference between the price of change and the cost of staying the same. While many people fear the discomfort, grief, uncertainty, or inconvenience that comes with making aligned decisions, Patrice challenges listeners to consider the long-term cost of remaining in situations, relationships, habits, and environments that no longer support who they're becoming. Through personal stories about her health, relationships, home, and recent life transitions, she reveals how misalignment quietly taxes our energy, peace, and potential over time. Ultimately, this episode is an invitation to stop calculating only the immediate price of change and start honestly evaluating the hidden cost of staying the same. Patrice reminds us that alignment often requires temporary discomfort, but misalignment can create years of emotional, spiritual, physical, and financial drain. As she closes out the season, she encourages listeners to embrace the work of alignment, trust the vision they've been given, and choose the version of life that reflects who they are becoming rather than who they used to be. Questions to Ask Yourself: What am I avoiding because I'm focused on the price instead of the cost? Where in my life am I paying a long-term price for staying the same? What relationship, habit, environment, or commitment no longer aligns with who I'm becoming? What would become possible if I stopped negotiating with misalignment? Am I willing to experience temporary discomfort in exchange for lasting alignment? Want to Redefine Wealth for Yourself? Start Here:

Today's episode is a really special one because Ali is sitting down with three of her favorite people in the world: Helen, Aaron, and Blake—the real-life family behind her “Work of ART” children's book, Beautiful Bird.If you've read the book, then you already know a little bit about Jack Bird, the incredible boy at the center of the story. And today, you're going to hear the real origin story. This is a conversation about love, friendship, family building, and creating a family that looks different than what many of us grew up seeing—but is every bit as beautiful. Helen always knew she wanted to be a mom, and as a solo mom by choice, she embarked on a journey to build her family with the help of her dear friend Aaron. At the time, Aaron was building a life with his partner, Blake, and together, the three of them created a beautiful, intentional village around Jack from the very beginning.Ali, Helen, Blake and Aaron talk about fertility treatments, donor conception, LGBTQ+ family building, and what it means to redefine family in a way that puts love, honesty, and a child's well-being first. They also talk about one of the most difficult chapters of their journey: Jack's unexpected 33-day stay in the NICU after he was born, and how that experience shaped all of them as parents and as a family. Most of all, this is a story about showing up for one another. It's about friendship becoming family, about creating your own blueprint, and about the many different ways people can build a loving home.Snag a copy of Beautiful Bird for just $15 here: https://www.infertileafgroup.com/booksEPISODE SPONSORS: THE WORK OF ART BOOK SERIESAli's Children's Book Series about IVF, IUI and Family Building Through Assisted Reproductive Technology https://www.infertileafgroup.com/booksThe 3-book bundle is now just $49 (normally $79)!The latest book in the Work of ART series, “You Are a Work of ART," is for every kiddo born through ART -- and the people who love them.PHERDALIG: @pherdal_sciencePherDal is the world's first and only FDA-cleared, sterile, at-home insemination kit designed to help people build their families in the comfort of home. Remi Kalir shares the Fair Feedback Project for addressing bias in student evaluations on episode 628 of the Teaching in Higher Ed podcast. Quotes from the episode If you actually have students write about affirming values as a kind of open free write before they complete an evaluation of teaching, it actually has been shown to mitigate bias. -Remi Kalir There are many people who are experiencing the effects of these structural patterns of bias who don’t look like me. So what can I do? How can I show up as an individual in this? -Remi Kalir I did not want people coming to the Fair Feedback project and then having long-winded, tangential, potentially problematic conversations with Claude as a chatbot. -Remi Kalir You can call it my complicity, you can call it my complexity, whatever you might call it, but I am very much entangled in this AI moment, trying to understand how I am navigating all of this. -Remi Kalir Resources The Fair Feedback Project Remi Kalir at the Duke Center for Teaching and Learning Remi Kalir — remi(x)learning Claude’s Remi Record The Research on Course Evaluations, with Betsy Barre (Teaching in Higher Ed) The Potential Impact of Stereotype Threat, with Robin Paige (Teaching in Higher Ed Episode 79) How Better Teaching Can Make College More Equitable, with David Gooblar (Teaching in Higher Ed Episode 599) Claude M. Have you ever had one bad day that suddenly made you question everything? Yesterday, that was me. After my most successful month as an entrepreneur, I found myself crying hysterically, convinced I wasn't doing enough and wondering if I was failing. Looking back, I realized my brain had turned one incredibly stressful day into a story that wasn't fully true. In this solo episode, I'm sharing what happened, the surprising lesson it taught me, and the framework I'm using to move through creative spirals without letting them define me.In this episode, you'll learn:- How to recognize when you're spiraling instead of seeing the full picture-Why your inner critic says the things it does and how to respond with compassion instead of shame-How to separate what's actually happening from the story your brain is telling you-A simple practice that's helping me regain perspective and move forward one step at a timeIf you've been feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or like you're somehow falling behind, I hope this episode reminds you that one hard day doesn't get to write the story of your life.
