Listen in on this session because, if you do a few key things right, word-of-mouth growth will follow. Actually, that's crucial. A decade into the Better Leaders Better Schools Ruckuscast, Danny Bauer has coached and interviewed hundreds of school leaders — and the patterns are clear. Dan Watt, elementary principal in British Columbia and Ruckus Maker, flips the microphone and puts Danny in the guest chair. What follows isn't nostalgia. It's the unfiltered architecture of a school leadership development ecosystem that actually works — and what it means for how you lead your campus. The Ruckuscast turns 10 this year. That's 10 years of watching which principals grow and which ones stall, which leadership beliefs hold up and which ones collapse under pressure. This episode is the debrief.

In the late 1980s, a child exposed to fallout from the Chernobyl disaster lay in a hospital bed while doctors told his family there were no clear answers and no reliable path forward. Decades later, that same child, Yan Leyfman, walks into exam rooms as a hematology oncology fellow, expected to deliver clarity inside a system that still runs on delay, uncertainty, and institutional self preservation. This episode traces the throughline from early life shaped by radiation exposure and hospice level uncertainty to a career inside academic medicine, translational research, and oncology media. Yan built his identity around survival and usefulness, moving from patient to physician while carrying the memory of what it feels like to sit on the other side of the table. He helped launch MedNews Week during the COVID crisis to push back on misinformation and expand access to medical knowledge, stepping into a public role while still in training. The conversation stays grounded in the friction between personal narrative and system reality. Clinical training demands efficiency, hierarchy, and emotional distance. Cancer care demands time, clarity, and human connection. Those forces collide in real patient encounters where prior authorization delays, insurance barriers, and fragmented care pathways shape outcomes as much as any treatment protocol.Yan speaks openly about mentorship, belonging, and the drive to make meaning out of survival. The discussion pushes further into what the healthcare system actually rewards, what it quietly strips away, and how quickly empathy can erode under institutional pressure. The episode also examines the role of medical media, where education, industry influence, and narrative control often blur together. This is a conversation about identity under construction, about what happens when someone who remembers powerlessness steps into a role that carries authority, and about whether that memory can survive long enough to change anything.RELATED LINKSYan Leyfman on LinkedInYan Leyfman on InstagramSurviving ChernobylFEEDBACKLike this episode? Why Joe Rogan Beat Late Night TVWhen I was a kid, hearing Johnny Carson's theme music meant it was time for bed. Today, nobody has to stay up for anything. And that one shift explains a huge part of why late night is fading and why your podcast has to work harder to earn attention.Conversation vs Promotional AppearancesIn the early years of Johnny Carson, the show was 90 minutes and they actually had conversations as apposed to the "tell me about your family vacation, and let's roll the clip" interviews we see on late night showsAppointment Viewing is DeadThe days of "must see tv" on Thursday night died with the VCR and DVR. I haven't watched live TV in years. So now the audience that is staying up to watch live is much older (somewhere between age 60-70), and is about HALF of the audience comparing it to the days wheh David Letterman get almost 7 million a night. The Celebrity Mystique is GoneI once stayed up to watch B.B. King on the tonight show. Why? Because I couldn't hear him on the radio. I was too young to go to a concert. If I did that today and wanted to see Joe Bonamassa I wouldn't need to wait to see him on TV. I could see him on his YouTube channel, or multiple interviews on podcasts.#1 in Late Night is a Big Fish in a Much Smaller PondKeep in mind that Steven Colbert being #1 in late night in 2026 is way different than being #1 in late night in 1993. Late-night TV revenue has reportedly fallen from about $400 million a year to $200 million a year—a 50% decline—while some shows that once drew 7–8 million nightly viewers now struggle to reach 3 million.YouTube Doesn't Pay the SameAccording to one report, YouTube pays one tenth of what a network ad spot would go for. When you audience is cut in half, you have less advertisers. When the advertisers you have are paying you 90% less and your expenses stay the same that is a problem.Keep Control of Your ContentRemember big companies with big payouts WANT CONTROL. Conan focused on owning his content and that resulted in a 150 million dollar payout.Only Amazing Content Will Stand OutIf you want podcast growth, you need to make sure you are doing as many of the following as possible.Make them:laughcrythinkgroanMake Sure The ContentEducatesEntertainsSaves the audience timeSaves them moneyMakes them FEEL somethingIf it's information you can get any place else, even better. A great podcast can be boiled down to content and delivery. So this episode is focused on content.Be Ready to PromoteWhen someone says, "Oh, you do a podcast?" be ready to explain what it is, what its about, and how people benefit from consuming your content (and say your website). We hear how Macaulay Culkin dropped the ball so bad on the Ellen show.Housekeeping: How to Pitch a PodcastI am still preparing to launch this show and I'm accepting stories. I had some things pop up that are taking my attention as they are time sensitive. It's coming...Mentioned in this episode:Live AppearancesI will be at the Empower Podcasting Conference (Year 3!) in Charlotte North Carolina. This is my favorite type of conference with a cap at 250 people, it's a great crowd without being overwhelming. Great speakers, great networking, and a great location.Where Will I Be?Podcasting in Six Weeks Starts SoonIf you've tried to start a podcast before and got lost in the jargon, and felt overwhelmed, this is the course for you. He advocates for a full-funnel marketing approach beyond PPC, continuous image testing, and integrating AI tools strategically. Rafaell also highlights the importance of emotional connection in content creation and recommends building strong internal creative teams to drive sustainable e-commerce growth. Here are the 3 action items that Josh identified from this episode:Prioritize authenticity over polish Test raw, real-looking visuals (UGC-style, iPhone shots)—they often convert better than high-end production. This week on The Back of the Pack Podcast, we kick things off with a quick review of the KC Run for the Cup 5K, a World Cup-themed race in Martin City that brought soccer energy, steady rain, soggy shoes, and a reversed version of a familiar Kansas City Running Company course. With Kansas City hosting World Cup action and the summer heat starting to settle in, this race gave us a wet but welcome reminder that sometimes rain on race day is not the enemy, it is the cooling system. From there, we shift into the main topic of the episode thanks to a listener message from Topeka about race day packet pickup and why losing that option can be a much bigger deal than some local runners realize. We dig into the hidden costs of packet pickup policies, including gas, hotels, work schedules, family obligations, travel time, and the reality that some runners may skip a race entirely if they have to make two trips just to get a bib. But we also look at the race director side of the table, where volunteer shortages, race morning chaos, timing issues, venue limitations, sponsor expectations, and expo logistics can all turn packet pickup into a tiny DMV with safety pins. This episode is not about declaring one side right and the other wrong, but about understanding how one simple policy can affect runners, race directors, vendors, volunteers, and the overall race experience. We also talk through possible compromises, including packet mailing, bib-only race morning pickup, out-of-town runner exceptions, friend pickup, convenience fees, and clearer communication before registration. If you have ever driven too far for a piece of paper, stood in a race morning line, worked an expo booth, volunteered at packet pickup, or wondered why races make the choices they do, this episode is for you.

A weekly live show covering all things Freedom Tech with Max, Q and Seth.In this week's Freedom Tech Friday, Max welcomed back Zach Herbert, CEO of Foundation, for a deep dive into practical health sovereignty, starting at home. We moved beyond Bitcoin, seed phrases, and secure elements to the everyday systems thinking Zach has applied to his own biology. We tackled the big three of home optimisation; water, air, and light. Max and Zach explored how to choose and install reverse osmosis with remineralisation (and why it matters), whole‑home and countertop options for renters, UV sterilisation, shower filters, and the very real issues of PFAS, fluoride, and microplastics. On air, we explored CO₂ monitoring, ERV/HRV ventilation, humidification/dehumidification strategies, realistic budgets for owners and renters, and why indoor CO₂ quietly wrecks performance and sleep. When it came to light, they contrasted high‑CRI, no‑flicker LEDs with incandescents, circadian effects, dim‑to‑warm setups, and why harsh, blue‑heavy flicker can spike stress and fatigue, especially for kids.Max and Zach then dug into targeted personal health: why genetic insights should precede bloods, balancing privacy with utility, and how DNA variants (MTHFR, vitamin D conversion, dopamine response, drug metabolism) can explain lab results and guide smarter supplementation (methylated B vitamins, vitamin D) and protocols (sauna, blood donation trade‑offs). They also hit practicals on electrolyte quality and salt (ditch stevia/citric acid, choose clean salts), everyday toxin minimisation (tallow skincare, hydroxyapatite toothpaste, cleaner hair care), and a level‑headed take on parasites and ivermectin. The theme throughout: use tech to restore a more natural environment and reclaim health autonomy without going “100‑step protocol” make quick wins for renters and owners alike that compound over years for you and your family.[[BILLLKEONNE]]TO DONATE TO ROMAN'S DEFENSE FUND: https://freeromanstorm.com/donateVALUE FOR VALUEThanks for listening you Ungovernable Misfits, we appreciate your continued support and hope you enjoy the shows. You can support this episode using your time, talent or treasure.TIME:- create fountain clips for the show- create a meetup- help boost the signal on social mediaTALENT:- create ungovernable misfit inspired art, animation or music- design or implement some software that can make the podcast better- use whatever talents you have to make a contribution to the show!TREASURE:- BOOST IT OR STREAM SATS on the Podcasting 2.0 apps @ https://podcastapps.com- DONATE via Monero @ https://xmrchat.com/ugmf- BUY SOME STICKERS @ https://www.ungovernablemisfits.com/shop/FOUNDATIONhttps://foundation.xyz/ungovernableFoundation builds Bitcoin-centric tools that empower you to reclaim your digital sovereignty. As a sovereign computing company, Foundation is the antithesis of today's tech conglomerates. In episode 665 of the New Media Show, hosted by 2017 Podcast Hall of Famer Rob Greenlee, Rob talks with Ashley Christenson, also known as Ashni, for a deep conversation about one of the most important questions facing podcasting, streaming, creator media, startups, and traditional media right now: What does “New Media” actually mean today? The term “New Media” has been around since the late 1990s, but its meaning is shifting again. What once described digital media outside traditional broadcast and print is now being used by creators, VCs, startups, streaming strategists, AI companies, and professional communities to refer to something more specific: creator-led media that builds trust, influence, industry position, and direct audience relationships. Ashley brings a unique perspective from 13 years in online media, Twitch streaming, YouTube education, startup marketing, community building, and creator strategy. She explains that she sees the creator economy as building an audience as the asset, whereas the emerging version of New Media is more about building status and position within an industry conversation. In her view, the key difference is not simply between consumer and professional audiences, but about what the media operation is designed to build and protect. Rob brings the longer history of podcasting and digital media into the discussion, asking whether podcasting was one of the first major expressions of New Media and whether it now sits within a much larger creator-led ecosystem. The conversation explores how podcasting, YouTube, streaming video, newsletters, live shows, X, AI-generated content, and Apple Podcasts' move toward HLS video streaming are all blurring the old lines between podcasting, creator media, and professional media. A major theme in this episode is whether podcasting is still its own category or has become a powerful format within the broader New Media industry. Rob argues that the word “podcast” is increasingly defined by audiences and platforms, while creators may need to think more broadly as show builders, media operators, and participants in the creator economy. Ashley and Rob also explore how X is becoming a real-time professional media layer, why founders, investors, executives, and AI builders are returning to the platform, and why companies are experimenting with live streaming, clipping, launch videos, short-form content, and creator-style formats to reach professional audiences. The episode also moves into AI-generated media, human-hosted content, AI clones, disclosure, and trust. Rob argues that human-created and AI-created content may both need clear labeling, while Ashley points out that long-form podcasts may remain more defensible because listeners often build real relationships with hosts over time. This conversation lands on a bigger media reality: New Media is no longer just a technology term. It is becoming a business category, a creator category, a trust category, and a professional influence category. Podcasting helped build the foundation, but the next version of New Media is broader, more video-driven, more AI-assisted, more platform-diverse, and more dependent on trust than ever before. Key Topics: What “New Media” means in 2026 Creator economy vs. New Media Audience as an asset vs. status as an asset Why podcasting helped define early New Media Whether podcasters should now think more like creators and show builders Apple Podcasts HLS video and the return of video podcasting YouTube, Spotify, X, and the platform shift around shows Why VCs and startups are using the term New Media X is a professional media and live content platform Traditional media is trying to become more internet-native AI-generated podcasts, AI clones, and synthetic media Human-hosted content, disclosure, and audience trust Why long-form podcasts may remain defensible in the AI era Chapter Markers: 00:00 Cold Open and Welcome 00:32 What Does New Media Mean 02:08 Podcasting Meets Multi Format 03:14 Meet Rob Greenlee 04:01 Introducing Ashley Christensen 04:53 Ashley’s Creator Economy Journey 08:26 AI Definitions of New Media 12:35 Creator Economy vs New Media 16:29 The Kill Switch Test 21:38 Is VC Rebranding New Media 24:10 Niche Status Media Examples 31:55 Traditional Media Goes Internet Native 34:59 Podcasting Identity and Convergence 41:35 Creator as a Catch-All Term 43:56 Naming New Media 46:11 Podcast Term Debate 51:02 X Shapes Media 55:35 X Video Creator Push 01:00:51 Twitter Podcast Roots 01:04:38 AI Flooding Podcasts 01:07:48 Human Trust Labels 01:11:34 Clones and Disclosure 01:17:49 Trust Factor Wrap 01:18:19 Closing and Where to Follow Guest and Host Links Guest: Ashley Christenson / Ashni Streaming strategist, creator economy, and new media operator X: https://x.com/ashnichrist YouTube: https://youtube.com/@ashnichrist Hype Partners: https://x.com/hypepartners Host: Rob Greenlee New Media Show: https://newmediashow.com Rob Greenlee: https://robgreenlee.com Podcast Hall of Fame: https://podcasthall.com Rob Greenlee on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/robgreenlee Rob Greenlee Booking: https://calendly.com/robgreenlee About the Host/Author: Rob Greenlee is a 2017 Podcast Hall of Fame inductee and Chair, a global new-media leader who bridges podcasting's human roots and its AI-driven future. Matthew Zachary is a brain cancer survivor, healthcare advocate, founder of Stupid Cancer and We the Patients, and host of Out of Patients. In April 2026, he returned to the stage at Merkin Hall near Lincoln Center for his first solo public piano concert in almost 22 years while launching his debut book, We the Patients: Understanding, Navigating, and Surviving America's Healthcare Nightmare. What unfolded became far larger than a concert.Over 2 hours, survivors, clinicians, advocates, nonprofit founders, journalists, pharmaceutical sponsors, and healthcare insiders gathered in one room to reflect on 30 years of survivorship, institutional failure, accidental advocacy, and the emotional afterlife of cancer. The evening moved through original piano performances, live chapter readings, and deeply personal conversations about infertility, disability, financial toxicity, insurance denials, grief, burnout, and what happens when patients spend decades navigating systems designed around transactions instead of continuity.Guests including Wendell Potter, Maimah Karmo, Craig Lustig, Shelly Fuld Nasso, Tamika Felder, and others reflected on how the modern cancer advocacy movement emerged largely because patients built parallel systems where healthcare infrastructure failed to meet human needs. The conversation explored how prior authorization, reimbursement incentives, administrative fragmentation, and institutional distrust continue shaping the patient experience across oncology and survivorship. The performance also marked a deeply personal milestone. After brain cancer compromised his left hand at age 21, Zachary spent 6 months rehabilitating both hands to return to public performance for the first time in over 2 decades. The result became part concert, part civic gathering, and part historical record of a generation of survivors who refused to disappear quietly.RELATED LINKSMZLIVE Official WebsiteMZLIVE YouTube VideoFEEDBACKLike this episode? This episode is presented by Create A Video – The United Nations is officially retiring the most catastrophic climate model for its upcoming assessment report. In a classic example of "now it can be told," it turns out that scientists knew the model was impossible for almost a decade. But the incentives were so great to use the model to secure scientific grants and for headlines that it created a powerful feedback loop that captured an entire political party.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-pete-kaliner-show--6946691/support.Subscribe to the podcast My preferred podcast platform: SpreakerAll the links to Pete's Prep are free!Get exclusive content here!Media Bias Check: GroundNews promo code!Advertising and Booking inquiries: Pete@ThePeteKalinerShow.com

Episode 201: Christian Duguay Interview This is the After Show for Valley Heat, featuring Andrew's interview with creator Christian Duguay. A longtime admirer of Valley Heat, Andrew finally gets the chance to sit down with Christian for a conversation about the unusual path that led to the creation of the podcast. Unlike many guests on the show, Christian didn't come up through traditional TV comedy writing. Rather than climbing through sitcom writers' rooms, his background includes music, improv at The Groundlings, and years working in reality television before eventually creating the suburban world of Valley Heat. The conversation explores how the podcast first came together, the trial and error involved in finding its voice, and the meticulous process behind creating each episode. Christian also talks about the challenge of adapting such a specifically audio-based comedy into a visual format. It's a funny and wide-ranging conversation about creativity, persistence, and making something completely its own thing. This episode is presented by Create A Video – A caller from the last hour spewed so much dumbassery that he lit up the text line and phone lines. But at the core of his silly accusations and assertions is an idea that fueled modern Leftism: a belief that America is bad and it should be taken down a few pegs. So, while caller Tony might not have been able to articulate a cogent argument, his view is pervasive on the political Left.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-pete-kaliner-show--6946691/support.Subscribe to the podcast My preferred podcast platform: SpreakerAll the links to Pete's Prep are free!Get exclusive content here!Media Bias Check: GroundNews promo code!Advertising and Booking inquiries: Pete@ThePeteKalinerShow.com
