Motherhood demands that we see the beauty and the lessons in the micro moments that most people take for granted while mindlessly scrolling on their phones, rushing out the door, or even when they're physically present but mentally checked out. The magic of motherhood happens in the quotidian, mundane, messy interactions, not in the elaborate, grand gestures. The spiritual calling of motherhood is available to every mother; the question is, is every mother ready to answer its call? When our frenetic society obsessed with metrics, productivity, efficiency, and jam-packed schedules is telling us to do more and be more, that should be our cue to slow down and be nowhere else but present. If we aren't really present for our kids, then what is the point of all of this anyway? What magical, picture-perfect moment are we trying to fast forward to, and why does our culture laud business as if there is no higher honor to achieve? Join just the two of us as we reflect upon how each of us is deepening our response to the spiritual calling of motherhood.Resources + Books Mentioned: Rebecca Giannini - The Present Parents Coaching (code MOTR saves you 15%)Scattered Minds by Dr. Gabor Mate, MDThe Conscious Parent by Dr. Shefali Tsabary, MDThe Seven Spiritual Laws for Parents by Deepak ChopraSupport the showJOIN OUR NEW, PRIVATE COMMUNITY! In this punchy UNCUT mini-episode, Jenny Mitchell dives into one of the hardest questions many of us avoid: What do you want? Sounds simple, but if you're someone who identifies as a people-pleaser or is constantly tuned in to what others need, this question might leave you blank. Jenny explores how our desire to keep the peace, avoid discomfort, or live up to unrealistic expectations can cloud our own internal compass. Drawing from her own journey as a leader and coach, she offers a loving (but firm) reminder: You can't have it all, at least not all at once, and leadership means choosing what you want and accepting what comes with it. Listener Reflection: What do you really want and what are you willing (and not willing) to do to make it happen? Welcome back to RNT Fitness Radio. Today, I'm joined by Coach Ivan, who's flown in all the way from Australia to spend a few days with us here in the UK. While he's over, we decided to hit record on a conversation we've been having behind the scenes — all about the concept of performance without pressure. For most of my life, I've thrived on pressure. Big goals. High stakes. All-or-nothing thinking. It's driven a lot of what I've achieved. But recently, I've started to question whether that pressure is still serving me — or if it's just a part of an old identity I've outgrown. In this episode, we unpack what it really means to perform at a high level without constantly chasing, grinding, or forcing outcomes. It's a reflective and real conversation, and I hope it sparks something for you too. Let's dive in. 386 Media Literacy and Division In the age of the internet it is impossibly easy for us to see something shocking and outrageous, ending up with us emotionally and morally outraged. We want to speak up, to make our voices heard in the sea of noise if only for a moment. However, it is easy for us to make a mistake on who we follow or share posts from, it is very easy to be fooled by a wolf in sheep's clothing, which is why it is vital to stop, take a moment to do some basic research, and make our own informed decision. In today's episode, Sarah Elkin's has a solo show dedicated to her thoughts on media literacy, the division that has been amplified by social media, and how important it is that we not only do our own fact checking, but that we also convey our thoughts and stories with intention in order to accurately portray what we believe. Highlights Sharing the right stories with intention, that are compelling and true. What are you doing in your daily life that does more harm than good? How do you engage with the people and world around you? You never really know who is listening to you, whether it is our phones and social media, or the people around us. Quotes “You don't have to tell people who you are or what matters to you. They come to those conclusions through the stories they hear.” “But if I'm too busy to check the source, maybe I shouldn't have shared it at all. Everything we do has consequences and if we don't consider the ‘what happens next?' question, we damage relationships, our reputations, and miss incredible opportunities. We contribute to the noise of division.” Dear Listeners it is now your turn, I challenge you, to either stop scrolling, I know it's hard. Or take inventory for a few days as you participate. Are your emotions like a rollercoaster as you scroll, feeling really good when you see something you agree with and getting angry, discouraged, or judgey when you see something you don't? Before you hit that like button ask yourself what your intention is when engaging. Are you sure what you're sharing is true? If you're sharing someone else's story, is this a stranger? Are you trusting their opinion over somebody in a similar situation who might be your neighbor or someone in your community? Ask yourself what exactly you're signaling to people by engaging on the post, are you putting something out there that is insulting to people you care about? I am so discouraged and disgusted by the division and polarization, and if you are too, then stop contributing to it. And, as always, thank you for listening. About Sarah "Uncovering the right stories for the right audiences so executives, leaders, public speakers, and job seekers can clearly and actively demonstrate their character, values, and vision." In my work with coaching clients, I guide people to improve their communication using storytelling as the foundation of our work together. What I've realized over years of coaching and podcasting is that the majority of people don't realize the impact of the stories they share - on their internal messages, and on the people they're sharing them with. My work with leaders and people who aspire to be leaders follows a similar path to the interviews on my podcast, uncovering pivotal moments in their lives and learning how to share them to connect more authentically with others, to make their presentations and speaking more engaging, to reveal patterns that have kept them stuck or moved them forward, and to improve their relationships at work and at home. The audiobook, Your Stories Don't Define You, How You Tell Them Will is now available! Included with your purchase are two bonus tracks, songs recorded by Sarah's band, Spare Change, in her living room in Montana. Be sure to check out the Storytelling For Professionals Course as well to make sure you nail that next interview!

You can still give to others, but the focus should always come back to you.” — Ilise Litwin What This Episode is About: This episode of Sh!t That Goes On In Our Heads is a raw and empowering look at what it means to navigate mental health in a world that often tells us to “just keep going.” Our guest, Ilise Litwin, joins us to explore how anxiety, trauma, social media fatigue, and emotional burnout can evolve into tools for personal growth when we stop pretending to have it all together. With humor, heart, and unfiltered honesty, Ilise shares her story of reinvention—from working in locked psychiatric units to building a life grounded in radical self-care and the freedom to be playful again. We explore what it means to be empathic in a chaotic world, how boundaries can protect our joy, and why reconnecting with your inner child might just be the best therapy of all. Whether you're a parent juggling too much, someone struggling with anxiety, or simply feeling burned out, this episode will inspire you to redefine what it means to heal—and to do it on your own terms. Meet Our Guest – Ilise Litwin Ilise Litwin, aka "The Fiery Redhead," is a bold and dynamic podcaster, author, motivational speaker, and therapist. Being empathic is a gift, but it can become a burden without healthy boundaries. Anxiety is not a flaw. It's often a result of external pressure or biology, not a failure. Learn to adjust your coping tools. Joy is healing. Reconnecting with your inner child through play, laughter, and creativity can be a powerful form of mental self-care. Actionable Tips: Set a Social Media Detox Routine. Schedule weekly screen-free days and use automation to reduce emotional overload. Reclaim Playtime. Draw, dance, wear costumes, or revisit childhood hobbies to reconnect with joy. Visualize Boundaries. Use mental imagery (like protective bubbles) to manage emotional overload and stay grounded. Join me and Sherrie Love as we read her poem, Descension and then have a conversation about the slow, brave work of reclaiming ourselves—of getting to know who we are again after life has scattered the pieces. We talk about the struggle, the beauty, and the quiet joy of becoming whole. And we draw wisdom from the sun—how it simply shines, without apology, without hesitation, no matter who is beneath its light. What would it mean for us to live like that? Descension Something is shifting. It has felt heavy and loud in my soul for a while. It twists in my stomach And lurches upward Squeezing my heart Tighter and tighter until I can't breathe Then it weaves its slimy black sludge claws Into my mind And plants seeds of doubt, fear, hopelessness Until they bloom Oozing the thick tar of my descension What does it mean? Where does it come from? I thought I was through I thought I was in the clear Didn't I already learn this lesson? And I notice the giant black infection Of fear expanding, enveloping me In its unrelenting grip What am I afraid of? Fear, what are you trying to show me? I move toward it now I embrace it back Shining every shred of light I have left Toward it Begging it to tell me what it wants And I see Tiny pricks of light Piercing through the thick, black darkness I left my light, my energy, my joy, behind Somewhere on the trail Like a lost glove Being blown away by the wind Left to dance its way through the wilderness Is it even still mine? Did someone find it? Did they pick up And turn it over, curious who it belonged to Did they take it home and try it on? Did something about my essence affect them in some way? I miss it Why do I keep doing that? Giving away my light? When all I'm trying to do Is shine on those I love On those who need a light in their own darkness Because I know how deeply painful and dark it is To wander this world in the dark Alone Maybe I overwhelm and blind with my light because I feel so desperate to connect Yet somehow, my light is too bright, too glaring, too intense Even for those who, at first, thought they liked basking in the glory And I remember that even the Sun, who shines unapologetically, gets too hot sometimes And may unintentionally burn you But she keeps on shining And we love her for it And we welcome the clouds and the rain and night and the winter And when they come, we miss the Sun And long for her return For the pink spring sunrise For the glowing summer sunsets And bright autumn mornings I wonder if the Sun misses me too when the night comes I wonder if she feels lonely and scared too Maybe she sees me As much as I see her I'd love to hear what you have to say about the episode including thoughts on the poetry and the topics that were discussed. Why is it important not to just fight against the status quo but to be vocal about a vision for what the future should look like? How does the current escalation in Iran relate to the overall problem of the violence of the state of Israel? In this series on healthcare and social disparities, Dr. Jill Wener, a board-certified Internal Medicine specialist, anti-racism educator, meditation expert, and tapping practitioner, interviews experts and gives her own insights into multiple fields relating to social justice and anti-racism. In this episode, Jill spoke with two of the coordinators of the One Democratic State Initiative about what the initiative is and how Palestinians and Israeli Jews would be impacted by this vision becoming a reality. They also discussed how it's important to hold space for this initiative as both a utopian vision and a practical solution that can actually be implemented. The One Democratic State Initiative is a Palestinian political endeavor that aims at making the central issue "A Jewish state or a democratic state?" (rather than simply solidarity with Palestinians or criticism of Israel without a definite political objective) the core of the Palestinian liberation discourse, a key milestone in the struggle for the decolonization of Palestine. The purpose of the Initiative is thus to mobilize individuals, entities and political parties, in Palestine and abroad, behind such an endeavor. To do so, we are reaching out both online and on the ground to individuals and groups who support the One Democratic State solution, who see Zionism for the danger it is but do not support the One Democratic State solution, or who are simply willing to listen.LINKSodsi.co**Our website www.consciousantiracism.comYou can learn more about Dr. Wener and her online meditation and tapping courses at www.jillwener.com, and you can learn more about her online social justice course, Conscious Anti Racism: Tools for Self-Discovery, Accountability, and Meaningful Change at https://theresttechnique.com/courses/conscious-anti-racism.If you're a healthcare worker looking for a CME-accredited course, check out Conscious Anti-Racism: Tools for Self-Discovery, Accountability, and Meaningful Change in Healthcare at www.theresttechnique.com/courses/conscious-anti-racism-healthcareJoin her Conscious Anti-Racism facebook group: www.facebook.com/groups/307196473283408Follow her on:Instagram at jillwenerMDLinkedIn at jillwenermd

I'm a Human Sustainability Consultant with a deep background in education, emotional engagement, and systems transformation. My work centers on helping schools, districts, and organizations create emotionally sustainable environments where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to lead.My professional path began as an elementary teacher with a passion for technology. Over time, I served as a Technology Integrator, Director of Innovation and Technology, and later as a consultant focused on instructional strategy and educator support. While my roles evolved, one thing remained constant: a commitment to understanding how systems affect the people inside them. After facing burnout myself at a time when there were no pathways for healing or even permission to talk about it, I shifted my focus toward mental health advocacy and policy change. For many years, I've worked at the intersection of instructional innovation and emotional well-being. Though I'm not a therapist or counselor, I've always been clear about my role: I am an advocate, strategist, and systems thinker, committed to improving the human experience of those working in schools and educational organizations. As a consultant, I provide strategic guidance and professional learning for both private sector organizations and educational institutions. My guest today is Jennifer Fiedler. It took a Cosmic Bitch-Slap to get Jennifer to leave her Hollywood film industry job that was a high-paying, high-stakes, high-pressure, and soul-crushing source of self-doubt, self-judgment, and terminal over-responsibility. As a veteran of grueling hours, nonstop stress, ego-driven drama, endless excitement, and the pervasive pretentiousness of Hollywood, when she knew she was burnt out, she dropped out and ran away to lick her wounds. On an epic global adventure, Jennifer learned that her Hollywood mindset that embraced her worth and attitude that radiated confidence were why she trusted herself and her decisions, didn't need to compare herself to other people, was fearless when facing uncertainty and risk, and knew that authenticity was the lodestar that guided her through everything.Jennifer coaches people who've built incredible things and know how to take care of business. People who lead teams, launch big ideas, and hit impressive milestones. People crushin' it on paper and yet, underneath that polished surface, they're quietly navigating success on the outside, but still questioning themselves on the inside. And her Hollywood Confidence Formula is for successful high-achieving executives, founders, entrepreneurs, and leaders having sporadic swings in confidence, random bouts of self-doubt, stunningly severe people-pleasing issues, and annoyingly persistent spurts of imposter syndrome.. In this episode we discuss art, living in the moment, creativity, presence, art and healing and storytelling.Website - https://cosmicbitch-slap.com/IG - https://www.instagram.com/cosmicbtchslap/FB - https://www.facebook.com/jennifergfiedlerYouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@cosmicbitchslapLinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/jennifer-fiedler-055b03107/In this episode you will learn:1. The power of your inner voice and the importance of listening to the soft whispering voice of your heart.2. How being still and silent can be a game changer in hearing your own true desires and making life-altering decisions.3. What a cosmic bitch-slap is. “That voice of our heart can only ever speak truth. The big loud voice in our head is a supreme bullshit artist.” - 00:03:54“It's a balance, right? So the un and unknown is the same un and unlimited. The unknown is that place where in terms of quantum physics, it's the field of all possibility." 00:20:35“God is love. And in whatever their language was, I don't mean like what those institutions are spewing now. Thousands of years ago, as they were conceived, God is love. ” 00:46:34

For the past 65 years I have been in an ongoing dialogue with my childhood friend, Howard (aka Howie) Brownstein. Howie used to work as a delivery driver for Mama's Pizzeria, which many of you know as the place I revere as cheesesteak heaven. When he couldn't work his shifts he would ask me to fill in for him and the inter-weaving aromas of Mama's super-cheesy pizzas and juicy cheesesteaks (both of which relying on Mama's secret 3-cheese blend) embedded a powerful taste and olfactory memory, associated specifically with Mama's, that has forever driven my never-ending quest for the perfect pizza. In the meantime, Howard became an internationally successful expert in something called "turnaround and crisis management." For the past forty years, he has regaled me with stories of his adventures interceding for companies (and their families) for whom he is often their last hope before they lose everything. His "turnaround" journey is not unlike my own adventures with pizza (except that turnaround intervention pays much better) and it also serves as another ideal metaphor for the journey of self-discovery, resilience, and the overcoming of adversity, as you will hear in this engaging conversation with the best "fixer" I know. Enjoy....

Some conversations only happen on the road—miles slipping by, the hum of tires, and the kind of quiet that invites reflection. In this episode, I drove with my friend Jason Wheatley to Sun Valley, Idaho, where he was delivering paintings for an upcoming art show. As we drove, we talked about his journey into art, the impulse to create, and the ways beauty can emerge from both solitude and connection. It's a meandering, thoughtful exchange—about art, life, and the things we're still trying to understand. After dropping off his work, we made a stop at Hemingway's grave and memorial, a silent moment that seemed to echo the themes of the trip: legacy, voice, and what we leave behind. I'd love to hear what you have to say about the episode including thoughts on the poetry and the topics that were discussed. You can email me at poetdelayed@gmail.com.
