AI, GLP-1 Costs, and Transparent Finance: Making Money Feel Human — Edwin Endlich

On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, guest host Pragya steps in to speak with Edwin Endlich (CMO at Wysh; President, National Alliance for Financial Literacy & Inclusion) about the collision of AI, GLP-1 weight-loss costs, and personal finance. Edwin explains why money conversations work better when they start with your story—then shows how AI can act like an “Iron Man suit” for everyday choices: helping you budget for expensive treatments, spot wasteful subscriptions, and decode terms & conditions. We also dig into transparency, scams, and consent in fintech, and how humor can open serious topics like life insurance. Direct, practical, and human—this episode reframes finance so listeners can act with clarity, not confusion.   About the guest  : Edwin Endlich is the Chief Marketing Officer at Wysh and President of the National Alliance for Financial Literacy & Inclusion. He blends storytelling, product design, and fintech to make financial protection and planning understandable and accessible.   Key takeaways: GLP-1 realities: Prescription GLP-1 drugs can cost around four figures monthly; planning must consider the full journey cost (medication, appointments, lifestyle shifts). Finance is personal: Conversations land when framed as “what you want to happen,” not product jargon—e.g., protecting a home or kids' education. AI as an assistant: Use AI to build budgets, compare prices, reduce subscription bloat, and personalize meal and movement plans during a health journey. Transparency first: Replace legalese with plain-English choices; surface true total costs and decision points up front. Terms & conditions 2.0: Future AI can summarize long T&Cs against your values, flagging risks before you click “I agree.” Skepticism is healthy: Scams are sophisticated; verify senders, avoid gift-card traps, and double-check “urgent” requests—even if they sound like family. Humor works: Light, respectful humor can unlock tough topics like mortality and life insurance without trivializing them. Design for consent: Financial products should make it obvious what you're opting into, with no hidden steps or dark patterns.   How to connect with the guest   LinkedIn: Edwin Endlich Company: Wysh Organization: National Alliance for Financial Literacy & Inclusion Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? This week we dive into a packed show, starting with a look at the Kona “wild cards,” the women outside the obvious favourites who could still make a big impact on race day. We then turn to Jan Frodeno, who swapped triathlon for trail and did something special at the Nice Côte d'Azur by UTMB, winning his age group over the 55 km course in his debut appearance. In race results we cover Ironman Chattanooga, the XTERRA World Championships, and Ironman Wales before recapping WTCS Weihai where Max Studer and Beth Potter took the wins. Finally, we look ahead to Supertri Toulouse and ask the big questions: can anyone stop Jeanne Lehair, and is Vasco Vilaça on track to win the entire series? This is a great time to build the cake, or maybe even just put your shopping list together. Today, we look at the unlimited potential of aerobic capacity and why it's at the core of making you a better long course athlete. We talk about Mark Allen's quest to beat Dave Scott and how patience allowed him to set the IM run course record. We get into using this time to reduce your stress and level your cortisol to be a healthier person. We look at how your body adapts to training and how we actually get faster and stronger. Get faster in a more meaningful (and functional) way. The goal right now is to train in a way so that you feel good tomorrow . . . and the next day. Be patient and the speed will come. What do Mongolian barbecue, Ford Motor Company, and Ironman triathlons all have in common? For Billy Downs, they've each played a role in shaping his unique journey as a leader in franchising.Billy “BD” Downs co-founded BD's Mongolian Grill at just 26 years old, growing it into an international brand before selling and moving into consulting, nonprofit work, and ultimately becoming the first franchisee in the state of Michigan, and now President, of Ford's Garage, a brand with 32 locations across 8 states. Along the way, he earned the Presidential Friendship Medal from the president of Mongolia, launched community-impact initiatives through World Vision, and helped advise Goldfish Swim School as it scaled from one location to more than 200.In this conversation, Billy opens up about the challenges of starting a restaurant brand from scratch, the critical role of building the right team, and why humility and coachability are non-negotiables in successful franchising. He shares how wearing the hats of both franchisor and franchisee shaped his leadership style, why he believes in surrounding yourself with a board of advisors sooner rather than later, and how “one team” is more than just a slogan at Ford's Garage.Whether you're an emerging franchisor, a franchisee, or simply a leader looking for wisdom, Billy's story is packed with insights on growth, resilience, and building businesses that make an impact far beyond the bottom line.Connect with BillyLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/billydowns/Email: b.downs@fordsgarageusa.comEpisode Highlights:Growing BD's Mongolian Grill into an international brandLessons learned from selling a franchise and starting overConsulting, nonprofit work, and the path to Ford's GarageWhy humility, coachability, and teamwork are essential in franchisingAdvising Goldfish Swim School on their path to 200+ unitsBuilding community impact into a brand from the startBalancing the dual role of franchisor and franchiseeConnect with Tracy Personal LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tracy-panase/ JBF LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/jbfsale JBF Franchise System - https://jbfsalefranchise.com/ Email: podcast@jbfsale.com Connect with Shannon Personal LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/shannonwilburn/ JBF LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/jbfsale Website - https://shineexecutivecoaching.com/ Email - shannon@shineexecutivecoaching.com

Their story begins at Ironman Hamburg, where Tom's race — and life — changed in an instant after a head-on collision with a motorbike on the closed course. While Tom was rushed to intensive care with serious injuries, Julia continued her first Ironman not knowing what had happened. Together they share how they navigated the trauma of that day, the long road of rehab and recovery, and how they went on to cycle 19,200km through 27 countries. This conversation is about resilience, partnership, and finding perspective when life throws you the unexpected.   What You Will Learn in This Episode How Tom coped with a devastating accident and what it taught him about resilience Julia's perspective on racing while not knowing what had happened to Tom Why rehab demands the same discipline and mindset as Ironman training How their year-long world cycling trip helped rebuild confidence and strength The lessons this experience offers about perspective, gratitude, and living fully   Resources and Links Check out Tom & Julia's YouTube channel for an incredible video of their travels 1 year from Singapore to London You can also follow their adventures on Instagram Pedallingbikes   They also love reading and recommend the following books Tom - How Not to Age by Dr Michael Greger Julia - Roar by Dr Stacey Sims   Thanks for Listening

Are your expectations bringing too much pressure and anxiety into your life? Are you falling into the traps over and over? Are you really training for health or to chase false hope? We like to think of this sport as a long range compass that should build strength, health, and sustainability. Exercise is supposed to give you energy, not take it away. Technology should serve us—not run us. In this direct, no-fluff conversation on Healthy Minds, Healthy Life, host Aanya speaks with Colin Corby (TEDx speaker, leadership well-being and digital detox coach) about reclaiming attention in an always-online world. We unpack how persuasive design shapes identity, why AI-assisted convenience can erode core skills, and how to build realistic off-screen habits without quitting your job or your phone. If you're ready to reduce screen time, think clearly, sleep better, and perform like a “business athlete,” this episode gives you practical, repeatable steps you can start today.   About the guest  :   Colin Corby is a leadership well-being and digital detox coach, TEDx speaker, and creator of Digital Detox Coach. With 30+ years in technology leadership and the mindset of a four-time Ironman triathlete, he helps people and organizations set healthy, sustainable boundaries with tech.   Key takeaways: Identity is shaped by experience: When most experiences are online, platforms co-shape who we become; curating ourselves and being curated by algorithms. Why this era is different: Smartphones travel with us, collect granular behavior and location data, and—paired with AI—can outsource core skills if unchecked. Digital detox = balance, not escape: Think “get out of the sweet shop” briefly and often—micro-breaks (20 seconds), 10–15 minute offline blocks, device-free evenings/weekends. Environment beats willpower: Change rooms, remove device triggers, set time barriers (no phone before morning routine, cutoff at night), and solve the alarm-clock problem. Habit mechanics: Interrupt old loops and build new ones; expect ~66 days on average for a habit to stick—track, iterate, and be kind to yourself when you slip. Business-athlete mindset: Sleep, nutrition, coaching, and deliberate practice apply to digital well-being just like endurance training. “Just One Thing” challenge: Each time you pick up your phone, do only one pre-planned task, then wait 5–10 minutes—powerful for breaking autopilot app-hopping. Future-proof your brain: Don't outsource all thinking to tools; keep building knowledge and critical-thinking muscles to stay adaptable and valuable at work. Make real life rewarding: Plan enjoyable offline activities (meals, movement, hobbies) so you're not “detoxing into boredom.”   Connect with the guest   Explore Colin's resources, videos, and TEDx talk via the Digital Detox Coach website and YouTube channel. He toured the world as a trumpet player, even performing with Emmy and Tony award-winning shows. But after a devastating motorcycle accident nearly cost him his arm and leg, Jeff made a bold decision to amputate below the knee and rewrite his story. That choice opened the door to running, triathlons, and ultra-endurance racingHe transitioned from the stage to the start line, racing sprint triathlons to full Ironman, grinding through marathons and ultras, and ultimately setting his sights on the Leadville 100.At Leadville, Jeff has faced brutal setbacks: crashes, broken bones, missed cutoffs — yet he always comes back, fueled by the mantra: “I commit, I won't quit.”Beyond racing, Jeff's day job as a prosthetist with Ottobock has taken him to the Tokyo and Paris Paralympic Games, where he provided free repairs and equipment for athletes competing on the world stage. His advocacy stretches further with organizations like Challenge Athletes Foundation, Limbs for Life Foundation, Team Catapult, and Full Circle Movement, where he helps create access, mentorship, and mobility for adaptive athletes.Jeff's journey is about resilience, creativity, and proving that identity isn't defined by what happens to you — but by what you choose to do next.Relevant LinksIG: @strideswithjeffChallenge Athletes FoundationLimbs for Life FoundationTeam CatapultOttobock Leadville Race SeriesPartner Links: Janji - Janji.comA big shoutout to our sponsor, Janji! In this episode, Guy talked with Michael Sandler and they explored the profound journey of embracing one's mystic nature by overcoming fears and following the pulls of the heart. Michael shared his experiences about the importance of surrender, the lessons learned from his spiritual practices, and the joys and challenges of being an empath. The conversation covered topics like balancing spiritual insights with daily life, maintaining personal boundaries, and practicing gratitude and love. They also discussed the impact of life experiences, such as becoming a parent and navigating professional pivots, on spiritual growth and authenticity. Michael invited listeners to join his School of Mystics for a transformative journey in expanding their consciousness and living authentically. About Michael: Michael Sandler is the co-host of the popular Inspire Nation Show, a transformational, self-help, spiritually focused podcast and YouTube channel, along with his wife, fellow coach, and teacher, Jessica Lee. He is a best-selling author, speaker, entrepreneur, visionary, coach, and the co-creator of Inspire Nation University and the Automatic Writing Experience online course. Having been a world-class athlete and coach, competing at the international level in cycling, along with being a competitive speed skater, Ironman triathlete, and runner, Michael has applied those same training skills to being a life coach to teachers, leaders, and visionaries. He is a life-long meditation practitioner and meditation teacher. Two near-death accidents led to the conception of the Inspire Nation show, the creation of the Automatic Writing Experience, and the writing of this book. These devastating accidents led Michael to a much deeper understanding about the world, of Spirit, and of our connection to something greater than ourselves. He calls this “getting the big picture” and from that this book emerged. Once driven purely by performance and results as an endurance athlete, Michael survived the near-fatal accidents that cracked his heart open and helped him discover a kinder, gentler way of moving through life, one that arguably makes an even greater impact on others and the planet. That's what he calls being an open-hearted warrior, and to his mission to elevate consciousness, shift humanity, and help people truly discover their greatest self. Despite twin titanium femurs and hips, as a result of the accidents, he continues to run, skate, bike, and play in the mountains or explore the world with Jessica, their daughter Hana, three kitty cats, along with Roo Roo the Wonder Rooster, always in prayer, always connected to Spirit. What if your business functioned more like a tight‑knit sports team instead of a family? In this episode, Matthew R. Meehan and Luigi Rosabianca sit down with Joe Terry,  former NFL linebacker, Iron Man finisher (16x!), author of Surrender to Lead, and CEO of Culture Partners.  Joe breaks down how clarity, alignment, and accountability around purpose, strategy, and culture are the real levers for big business results. And yes, we get into what separates high performers, how to shift thinking from “below the line” to “above the line,” and why repetition is the secret sauce of leadership. What you'll learn in this episode: Why most leadership teams aren't actually aligned (even when they think they are) How to get your team on the same page…and keep them there The simple mindset shift that separates problem-solvers from finger-pointers How top leaders use repetition to hardwire purpose and values into company culture Ways to manage high performers without burning them out Why feedback (done right) can change everything How to measure culture and tie it to real business results The one word Joe says is the key to long-term success: consistency Favorite Quote: “Above the line means you're taking accountability, responsibility, and action towards those things that you can control.” Who is Joe?Joe Terry is the CEO of Culture Partners. Before that, he was an NFL linebacker with the Seattle Seahawks. He's a 16‑time Iron Man finisher, speaker, and author of Surrender to Lead. Joe builds frameworks that help leaders get their people aligned, their mission clear, and their culture operating like a high‑performing machine. Why you should listen: If you're sick of miscommunication, misaligned priorities, or employees just punching in and punching out, this episode is for you.
