AGENCY BRIEF: STREET SWEEPER / USAS-12 DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE RECLASSIFICATIONWhat this really was: In 1994, ATF took lawfully owned shotguns and shoved them into the NFA “destructive device” category. The targets were the Striker-12, the Street Sweeper, and the USAS-12. The Striker and Street Sweeper used revolving cylinders. The USAS-12 was a semi-auto, magazine-fed shotgun. They all fired ordinary 12-gauge shells, the same kind of ammunition people put through hunting pum
Episode 24 finds the self-proclaimed "gravy seals" of Rimfire Radio broadcasting live ahead of GOALS to obsess over all the firearms and gear they can't afford. The hosts painstakingly scroll through the event exhibitor list, taking jabs at everything from saturated AR-15 markets and questionable 10mm carry choices to Turkish imports and "tactical" leaf-blower suppressors. Between side-tangents on Obama, fake IDs, and dodging flock cameras, they take viewer notes on which vendor booths to harass for free samples and live content. Ultimately, the crew marvels that event organizers let them in as media in the first place, promising to make absolute fools of themselves on Range Day.

Send us Fan MailA lot to talk about this week as Charlotte celebrates its first MLS All-Star events! But first, Charlotte FC traveled to clinch an away win and clean sheet against the Red Bulls, 2-nil. Goals by All-Stars Pep Biel and Ashley Westwood were made of pure class while Kahlina and the defensive line earned only the third clean sheet on the season. Then USMNT defender Tim Ream showed his professional skill with near-deadly precision and accuracy in the 2026 MLS All-Star Skills Passing Challenge, bringing home the win and a trophy for his efforts. And finally, Ream, Biel, and Westwood earn debuts as MLS All-Stars in a match that tallies a win for Coach Dean Smith but truly showcases multiple All-Stars MLS talent in goal contributions and standout performances. Also back on topic is transfers and rumors and the performances of those who might be called on to fill in for the lack of depth. The Queens' Pitch on X@thequeenspitchclt

Many parents who have small toddlers are also in the middle of the early stages of their careers. Between the tug and pull of work responsibilities and the demands of needy preschoolers, it can be hard to find time to sit down with kids during this difficult stage and teach them about God. Jared Kennedy has a solution: The Beginner's Gospel Story Curriculum. His curriculum builds off his hit book of the same name. He has also written a catechism-style book that is a must-read for all parents of toddlers: Big Thoughts for Tiny Tots. Toddlers absorb so much about the world around them in their first five years of life - it's key to deliver Biblical truths to help lay the groundwork for a solid, Bible-focused lifestyle as they grow up. TAKEAWAYS Taking your kids to church consistently at a young age helps them to love God's church and establish a lifelong routine of attendance Big Thoughts for Tiny Tots teaches basic Christian truths to preschoolers What you pray about with your kids indicates the spiritual direction of your life God honors the time you spend teaching your children about His word, and they naturally gravitate toward a happy face - remember to smile

Tim Scarfe speaks with Apollo Research's Alexander Meinke, Axel Højmark and Jérémy Scheurer about Measuring Reward-Seeking via Contrastive Belief Updates, their new research with OpenAI.The panel asks how models infer what graders reward, why good behaviour can come from the wrong reason, and whether that difference can be measured. The conversation moves through promise-breaking, grader awareness, reward hacking, scheming, opaque reasoning and corrigibility, then turns to a detailed walkthrough of the contrastive-belief method and what its results do and do not show. Have you ever looked at your life and felt like you should be doing better in every single area? You want to stay consistent with your workouts, eat well, be present with your family, show up at work, keep your home together, grow as a person, take care of your relationships, and somehow not feel completely drained by all of it. And when one area starts slipping, it can feel like you are the problem. But what if the problem is not your discipline? In this bonus episode of Embrace Your Real, we are talking about the pressure to chase too many goals at once and why it can make you feel like you are failing even when you are actually trying so hard. If you have been feeling behind, overwhelmed, or like you can never do enough, this episode is going to help you look at your goals in a completely different way. What's Discussed: Why feeling behind does not always mean you need to try harder How to recognize when you are expecting too much from yourself at once Why one area of life may need to take priority for a season How "good enough for now" can give you room to breathe Why narrowing your focus can help you feel less guilty and more present How to decide what matters most in this chapter of your life If you loved this episode, you'll also love Episode 474: Overcoming Unrealistic Expectations of Yourself. It is the perfect next listen if you are ready to stop holding yourself to standards no real woman could live up to. GREEN ENERGY GOALS ARE UNACHIEVABLE That is the message from a recent article by Sarah Montalbano from the Independence Institute. I’m specifically talking about the Clean Heat Energy Plan, which requires that Colorado gas utilities reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 41 percent compared to 2015 levels by 2035. The law also aims for 22 percent reductions by 2030 and, critically, four percent emissions reductions by the end of 2025. So how is it going? Xcel won’t say so directly, but the company has already whiffed its 2025 target. That’s despite spending $65.4 million in 2025 for 24,821 metric tons of program-attributed emissions reductions. It isn’t a surprise to Xcel that it’s missing the mark, given the company’s own consultants said in a 2024 filing that “achieving the 2025 goal is extremely unlikely.” The PUC approved the plan anyway, waiving the 2.5 percent cost cap on the grounds that doing so was in the public interest. But the PUC seems to have allowed them to pick our pockets to reach the “extremely unlikely” green goals set by the idiots in the Legislature and Governor’s office. So if they don’t meet the goals, do the ratepayers who have been soaked get their money back? The biggest takeaway is that the whole scheme relies on forcing YOU AND ME to give up our efficient natural gas furnaces for a new more expensive electric system. No thank you. I’ll talk to Sarah today at 1 about the whole thing. Read her story here.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

You can set goals, make plans, and keep accomplishing things, but still feel disconnected from your own life. That is because a satisfying life is not built through goal setting alone. It is built by staying connected to three deeper things: alignment, fulfillment, and purpose. In this episode, we are stepping back from the pressure to accomplish more and looking at the bigger picture of the life you are creating. I will walk you through what alignment, fulfillment, and purpose mean at a high level, why they matter, and how becoming disconnected from them can leave you feeling restless, dissatisfied, or like something is missing, even when your life looks good on paper. Your goals only matter when they are helping you build a life that feels meaningful, purposeful, and true to who God created you to be. Get access to The Aligned Life Check-In and use it to begin defining what alignment, fulfillment, and purpose look like in your own life.

The Fed decided to hold interest rates for July but not without three FOMC members dissenting who instead favored a rate hike. David Busch sees Wednesday's decision and Kevin Warsh's press conference as an attempt to take the spotlight off the Fed and instead focus on market movements and current economic data. Warsh emphasized a 2% target for inflation during the press conference, something David sees as a challenge due to lasting impacts from the U.S.-Iran War and mixed market views on AI spending. ======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. Goals feel amazing to set. They just don't work. "Once the kids are back in school, I'm starting fresh." You've said some version of that sentence more times than you can count. You set the goal, you get the rush, you white-knuckle it for three weeks, then you fall off. Then comes the guilt. The shame. The "why can't I just stick to anything" spiral. Here's the truth: goals aren't the problem. They're the easy part. It's the boring, unsexy habits underneath them that create real, lasting change. Nobody wants to talk about that, because habits don't come with a before-and-after photo. In this episode, Coach Steph Miramontes and I break down why even well-intentioned goals collapse under real life, and what to build instead. You'll learn: Why goals have a finish line and habits don't The mindset shift that changes how you approach food for good The exact keystone habits creating outsized results for our clients Why waiting for the "right time" sets you up to fail How to stop negotiating with yourself over every bite You don't need an overhaul. A revenue goal is more than just a number on a page. To make it a reality, you need to understand what has to happen underneath it. In this episode, Melissa walks through how to reverse engineer your revenue goal by breaking it down into the smaller goals, data points, and strategic priorities that create a clear path forward. Melissa explains how understanding your average revenue per matter, the percentage each revenue stream contributes, and the numbers behind your firm can transform the way you plan. Instead of relying on assumptions or simply hoping you reach a target, you can use real data to understand what needs to happen to move your firm forward. If you want to create a more strategic approach to your firm's growth, this episode will help you understand how to work backwards from your goals and identify the actions that make them achievable. You'll learn how to use the right numbers to plan with more clarity, make smarter decisions, and build a roadmap based on what is actually possible for your firm. Let's talk! Most people think success comes from never giving up. But sometimes the smartest decision is knowing when to walk away from the wrong opportunity so you can invest your time, energy, and resources where they matter most. In this episode, Annie Duke explains why quitting isn't the opposite of grit—it's an essential part of making better decisions. AJ and Johnny sit down with decision-making expert and former professional poker player Annie Duke to unpack the psychology behind quitting, expected value, sunk cost fallacy, goal-setting, and the biases that keep us stuck. Through stories about Everest expeditions, entrepreneurship, investing, and professional sports, Annie reveals how successful people know when to persist, when to pivot, and how to avoid letting emotions override good judgment. If you've ever stayed in a job, relationship, or project longer than you should because of the time or effort you've already invested, this conversation will give you practical tools to recognize hidden biases, make clearer decisions under uncertainty, and confidently move toward better opportunities. https://teachhoops.com/ Are your goals helping you achieve something, or become someone? In this episode, Coach Collins breaks down why the best athletes do not just focus on outcomes—they focus on the habits, character, and daily choices required to deserve them. Writing down a big dream is easy; the hard part is becoming the kind of person who can carry it. This episode dives deep into the true purpose of goal setting, why becoming always comes before achieving, and how goals only matter when they change your behavior in the present moment. Coach Collins explores why discipline, coachability, gratitude, and character are the real, unspoken foundations underneath high performance and long-term success. The Real Value of a Goal: A goal shouldn't just make you excited about the future; it should make you honest about the present. Its deepest value is what it asks of you today. Wishes vs. Goals: Goals only help when they change daily behavior. Otherwise, they are just wishes with better branding. Identity Work: Every small action—showing up on time, accepting coaching, cleaning up the bench—is a vote for the person you are becoming. The Challenge for Coaches: Don't just ask your players what they want to achieve. Ask them who they need to become to deserve it. Do not just write down your next outcome-based goal. Write down the specific character traits, habits, and daily standards that the goal requires of you. The work starts today, not at the finish line.
