Once again, this is a Flight 93 presidency. Next we're joined by Nic Hulscher, epidemiologist at the McCullough Foundation, for a riveting discussion of his analysis of the now-exposed Ford health study showing an overall 2.5-fold increase in the likelihood of developing a chronic health condition in vaccinated children relative to the unvaccinated. Hulscher explains why this study is comprehensive and powerful and how a proper analysis of it shows a 549% higher rate of autism-associated neurodevelopmental conditions and a 54% elevation in childhood cancer in the vaccinated cohort. He also shares some new research on the COVID vaccines that prove cancerous fragments of the plasmids can stay in the body for years.   Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

I'm about to say what other health influencers refuse to say. Others in the chronic illness recovery business told me this message was "too risky" for their brand. Or it wasn't "brand aligned". Then, one by one, they jumped on the nervous system regulation bandwagon full of buzz words. And that has creates a lot of problems for people. Here's the truth you need to know: There are no separate systems in your body. Your nervous system isn't broken. Your body is simply reflecting your feelings back to you. In this video, I expose why the recovery industry profits from keeping you stuck in labels and protocols instead of teaching you how to listen to what your body is actually communicating. We cover moral injury, medical gaslighting, and why she refused to lie on surgical charts just to boost hospital revenue. Her escape plan? Many people today describe a pattern they cannot explain. Life feels manageable until something unexpected happens at work or home, then the body suddenly shuts down. The mind spins, energy collapses, irritability rises, and the only thing that feels safe is withdrawing into the couch, the phone, or Netflix. This is not laziness or burnout. This is functional freeze. In this hol+ conversation, Dr. Taz sits down with environmental and root cause medicine expert Dr. Jessica Peatross (Dr. Jess) to reveal why so many people experience chronic fatigue, anxiety, weight gain, histamine reactions, food sensitivities and unexplained inflammation even when routine labs look normal.Instead of chasing symptoms or isolated toxins, Dr. Jess explains how a dysregulated nervous system alters detox, hormones, digestion, immunity and gene expression. She breaks down how trauma, mold exposure, hidden infections, parasites and environmental chemicals overload the body when the vagus nerve is stuck in fight, flight or freeze. And she shows why healing is impossible when the body does not feel safe. From childhood trauma and dorsal vagal shutdown to blocked drainage pathways, cytokine storms, reactivated viruses and misdiagnosed environmental illness, this episode reframes chronic symptoms through a lens of nervous system physiology, not personal weakness or aging. You will learn what functional freeze looks like, why detox often makes people worse, how to identify nervous system dysregulation, and the steps Dr. Jess uses to help patients regulate, open pathways and finally begin to heal. Together, Dr. Taz and Dr. Jess outline a clear, compassionate roadmap for anyone who has ever felt dismissed, overwhelmed or stuck in a body that will not calm down.Dr. Taz and Dr. Jess discuss: • What functional freeze is and why it shows up in daily life • How nervous system dysregulation drives fatigue, anxiety and chronic symptoms • The role of mold, parasites, toxins and environmental chemicals in chronic illness • Why detox fails when the body does not feel safe • Vagus nerve physiology and dorsal vs ventral vagal states • How trauma, stress and grief reshape hormones, immune function and methylation • Medical dismissal and the reality of normal labs with real symptoms • The drainage pathways that must open before detox • Histamine issues, MCAS, POTS and their connection to the nervous system • Tools that help regulate the system and support healing • How to track progress through sleep, HRV, emotional stability and digestion • Why healing is not linear and why support and community matterAbout Dr. Jessica Peatross Dr. Jessica Peatross  is a functional and environmental medicine expert known for her work on nervous system dysregulation, toxin-driven illness and trauma informed detox. She is the founder of WellnessPlus, an educational platform teaching step-by-step protocols for mold, parasites, drainage and nervous system healing. Episode 5 of Standard Deviation with Oliver Bogler on the Out of Patients podcast feed pulls you straight into the story of Dr Ethan Moitra, a psychologist who fights for LGBTQ mental health while the system throws every obstacle it can find at him.Ethan built a study that tracked how COVID 19 tore through an already vulnerable community. He secured an NIH grant. He built a team. He reached 180 participants. Then he opened an email on a Saturday and learned that Washington had erased his work with one sentence about taxpayer priorities. The funding vanished. The timeline collapsed. His team scattered. Participants who trusted him sat in limbo.A federal court eventually forced the government to reinstate the grant, but the damage stayed baked into the process. Ethan had to push through months of paperwork while his university kept the original deadline as if the shutdown had not happened. The system handed him a win that felt like a warning.I brought Ethan on because his story shows how politics reaches into science and punishes the people who serve communities already carrying too much trauma. His honesty lands hard because he names the fear now spreading across academia and how young scientists question whether they can afford to care about the wrong population. You will hear what this ordeal did to him, what it cost his team, and why he refuses to walk away.RELATED LINKSFaculty PageNIH Grant DetailsScientific PresentationBoston Globe CoverageFEEDBACKLike this episode? What began as Allison's search for answers to debilitating chronic pain in college became the blueprint for a mission-driven company rooted in integrity and transparency. But at the height of early success—$2M in revenue, nine employees, and a passionate customer base—Allison and her co-founders made an unthinkable call: shutting the company down after discovering they couldn't verify a key ingredient in their hero product. Welcome back to Beautifully Broken, where healing meets high performance. Today, I'm exploring a truth that's changed everything for me and my clients: we are not broken machines; we are adaptive, conscious beings in dynamic systems of repair. After years of sitting with people navigating complex chronic illness, I've realized that our biology is not just chemical, it's also energetic and informational. Our nervous systems are constantly scanning for safety, and when symptoms arise, they often become the story our brains use to make sense of chaos: “It's my mold,” “It's my MTHFR gene,” “It's my hormones.” These narratives can help us, but they can also trap us.The healing work lies in the yes, and… validating the diagnosis, while remembering we have levers of influence: breath, movement, light, connection, thought, and time in nature. Pattern interrupts, tiny shifts in our inner dialogue and sensory experience, can retrain our physiology, lower inflammation, and awaken resilience. Healing, ultimately, is the art of creating new internal conditions where health can return naturally. This episode is a reminder that you are not a malfunctioning machine, you are a masterpiece in process. Episode Highlights[00:00] – The nervous system as storyteller: how our brains create meaning from illness[01:24] – “I am broken because…”: how health narratives form and when they hold us back[02:47] – Why healing must include biology, energy, and information—not just chemistry[04:15] – The power of breath, cold, heat, light, and thought to change physiology[05:11] – Nature therapy: the most accessible medicine on Earth (and it's free)[06:40] – How fear-based stories become cages and the ego resists the real work[07:32] – Limbic system retraining: the ROI of rewiring your stress response[08:55] – The bridge of true healing: biology meets consciousness[09:45] – Healing isn't fixing; it's changing the conditions for adaptation[10:01] – A closing love letter to your body and its innate intelligenceLinks & ResourcesThe Biological Blueprint Program: https://www.beautifullybroken.world/ Beam Minerals: http://beamminerals.com/beautifullybroken— Code: BEAUTIFULLYBROKEN Silver Biotics: bit.ly/3JnxyDD— 30% off with Code: BEAUTIFULLYBROKEN LightPathLED: https://lightpathled.pxf.io/c/3438432/2059835/25794— Code: beautifullybroken CatchBio: https://catchbio.com — Code: BEAUTIFULLYBROKEN  CONNECT WITH FREDDIEWork with Me: https://www.beautifullybroken.world/biological-blueprintWebsite and Store: (http://www.beautifullybroken.world) Instagram: (https://www.instagram.com/beautifullybroken.world/) YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@freddiekimmel Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. What happens when chronic illness meets wellness culture, diet culture, and the desperate search for answers in a system that continues to fail so many people? In this episode, I talk with Abbie Attwood, MS, @abbieattwoodwellness, an anti diet, weight inclusive nutrition therapist and host of the Full Plate Podcast. Abbie and I explore how chronic illness, medical gaslighting, and the pressure to find a cure can intersect with disordered eating. We talk about the ways wellness messaging pushes restrictive food rules, how OCD and anxiety deepen vulnerability to this messaging, and how food fear can feel like control when life feels unpredictable. We also discuss athlete identity, compulsive exercise, thin privilege, masking, neurodivergence, and the grief that comes when illness or injury forces people to rethink who they are. This conversation opens space for nuance, compassion, and the reality that healing happens inside context, not perfection. Content Caution We talk about chronic illness, disordered eating, exercise compulsion, and food restriction. Please take care of yourself as you listen. Key Topics We Cover 1. How wellness culture preys on vulnerability Abbie discusses how chronic illness created a perfect storm for disordered eating, especially when wellness messaging promised control, cures, and answers that science did not support. 2. Chronic illness and the search for control We talk about how desperation, medical dismissal, and misinformation make people more likely to turn to restrictive food rules and elimination diets. 3. OCD, anxiety, and increased vulnerability to wellness culture Abbie shares how her undiagnosed OCD and lifelong anxiety made the rigid, all or nothing tone of wellness culture feel reassuring, while actually deepening harm. 4. Athlete identity, loss, and compulsive movement We explore how losing movement due to chronic illness or injury can destabilize identity, trigger grief, and reignite disordered behaviors around exercise. 5. Masking, neurodivergence, and the pressure to perform wellness We discuss how neurodivergent masking can hide exhaustion and overwhelm, and how the pressure to perform health or discipline can push people deeper into food and exercise rigidity. 6. Chronic illness culture, shame, and blame We look at how chronic illness culture and wellness culture both place responsibility on the individual, leading to shame and self blame when bodies do not behave as expected. 7. What real nourishment looks like when illness limits capacity Abbie talks about the need for compassion, ease, adding rather than restricting, and honoring energy limitations instead of forcing strict food rules. Who This Episode Is For People navigating chronic illness and food anxiety Listeners recovering from eating disorders Neurodivergent folks who feel pressured to mask or follow rigid health rules Athletes or former athletes grieving changes in movement Anyone tangled in wellness culture messaging Clinicians who want a deeper understanding of how chronic illness intersects with disordered eating People who struggle with shame when illness reduces their capacity About Today's Guest Abbie Attwood, MS, is an anti diet, weight inclusive nutrition therapist, writer, and host of the Full Plate Podcast. When Julia Stalder heard the words ductal carcinoma in situ, she was told she had the “best kind of breast cancer.” Which is like saying you got hit by the nicest bus. Julia's a lawyer turned mediator who now runs DCIS Understood, a new nonprofit born out of her own diagnosis. Instead of panicking and letting the system chew her up, she asked questions the industry would rather avoid. Why do women lose breasts for conditions that may never become invasive? Why is prostate cancer allowed patience while breast cancer gets the knife? We talked about doctors' fear of uncertainty, the epidemic of overtreatment, and what happens when you build a movement while still in the waiting room. Funny, fierce, unfiltered—this one sticks.RELATED LINKS• DCIS Understood• Stalder Mediation• Julia's story in CURE Today• PreludeDx DCISionRT feature• Julia on LinkedInFEEDBACKLike this episode? Dr. Rachel Gatlin entered neuroscience with curiosity and optimism. Then came chaos. She started her PhD at the University of Utah in March 2020—right as the world shut down. Her lab barely existed. Her advisor was on leave. Her project focused on isolation stress in mice, and then every human on earth became her control group. Rachel fought through supply shortages, grant freezes, and the brutal postdoc job market that treats scientists like disposable parts. When her first offer vanished under a hiring freeze, she doubled down, rewrote her plan, and won her own NIH training grant. Her story is about survival in the most literal sense—how to keep your brain intact when the system built to train you keeps collapsing.RELATED LINKS• Dr. Rachel Gatlin on LinkedIn• Dr. Gatlin's Paper Preprint• Dr. Eric Nestler on Wikipedia• News Coverage: Class of 2025 – PhD Students Redefine PrioritiesFEEDBACKLike this episode?
