This week's deck has a reputation. Specifically, a bad one. More specifically, one of the worst decks that has been played at a Pro Tour. Looking at the decklist, that totally makes sense. Putting playsets of both Mind Stone and Figure of Destiny in the main is almost an anti-combo. Playing Windbrisk Heights and only nine creatures that cost less than three mana doesn't exactly scream synergy. However, it fit a specific niche. Reveillark is more than good enough to carry an entire archetype, and Ajani Vengeant never had a better home. From the mind of Brian Kowal (and the Magic Cruise) comes Boat Brew!

Today Chris and Daniel recap episode 8 of MARVEL's What If...? This episode is titled "What If... Ultron Won?" Summary: Ultron, having taken the Mind Stone and Vision's vibranium body, has defeated the Avengers and launched a global nuclear holocaust, killing most of humanity. Thanos appears on Earth to complete the Infinity Gauntlet, but Ultron bisects him, obtaining the rest of the Infinity Stones and using them to create a massive drone army. Ultron wipes out almost all life in his universe before hearing the Watcher and discovering the multiverse. He attacks the Watcher in his multiversal observatory. Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff, survivors of Ultron's universe, find a copy of Arnim Zola's consciousness in Siberia. They upload Zola into a drone body to try to destroy Ultron's hive mind, but this fails because Ultron has left their universe. Barton sacrifices himself to allow Romanoff and Zola to escape the other drones. Ultron battles the Watcher across different universes until the Watcher flees to Strange Supreme's collapsed universe to ask him for help. Ultron assumes control of the Watcher's observatory and proclaims himself invincible.

Episode 19 - Costa Rican Catch Up, Lil Uzi Vert's Mind Stone Rewind, Odd News From The Recent Passed, And Florida Men Gone Wild
Hank Pym finds Janet van Dyne in the Quantum Realm and she infects him with a quantum virus. They return to Earth and cause a zombie apocalypse. Two weeks later, a group of survivors—Bruce Banner, Hope van Dyne, Peter Parker, Bucky Barnes, Okoye, Sharon Carter, Happy Hogan, and Kurt—learn there is a potential cure at Camp Lehigh. They lose Hogan, Carter, and Hope to zombie attacks on the way there, where they meet Vision. His Mind Stone can reverse the virus, exemplified by a cured Scott Lang's head kept alive in a jar, but an infected Wanda Maximoff is immune to the cure and Vision has been feeding pieces of T'Challa to her. Maximoff breaks free and kills Kurt, Okoye, and Barnes. Unwilling to live without Maximoff, Vision commits suicide to give the Mind Stone to Parker. Banner transforms into the Hulk and battles Maximoff, allowing the others to escape. To broadcast the Mind Stone's energy across the planet, Parker, Lang, and T'Challa go to Wakanda. Meanwhile, a zombified Thanos wields a nearly-complete Infinity Gauntlet.
Hank Pym tries to find his lost wife, Janet VanDyne, in the quantum realm. When he does, he discovers that she is infected with a quantum virus that has made her a flesh-eating zombie. Janet returns to the world and the zombie infection spreads like wildfire. The Avengers are infected, leaving only a few heroes to try and save the earth. Along with a returning Bruce Banner, Spider-Man, Happy Hogan, Wasp, Sharon Carter, Bucky Barnes, Kurt, and General Okoye are on a mission to Camp Lehigh in hopes of finding an antidote. After battling a lot of zombies, including Cap, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and Wong, most of the gang makes it into Camp Lehigh, thanks to a heroic Hope VanDyne. They find Vision, who is immune to the virus, working on a broad spectrum cure for the virus. Using the Mind Stone's power, Vision has already cured Scott Lang, whose talking head is alive & well. But Vision has a secret: he is keeping his wife, Wanda Maximoff, alive as a zombie at Camp Lehigh. Vision has been feeding her pieces of King T'Challa, whom he kidnapped for that purpose. Wanda is unleashed, but Vision finds his conscience at the last moment. Vision removes the Mind Stone from his head. While Dr. Banner & Hulk create a diversion, Spider-Man, T'Challa, Kurt, and Scott head to Wakanda, the only place with the technology to harness the Mind Stone for a global cure. However, we then see Zombie Thanos, who appears ready to snap his fingers any moment. Episode 5 stars Jeffrey Wright, Mark Ruffalo, Paul Rudd, Danai Gurira, Paul Bettany, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Evangeline Lilly, Chadwick Boseman, Jon Favreau, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, David Dastmalchian, and Hudson Thames. We have to talk about Steve Rogers' MCU story and what he did with those Gems! He started off as just a kid from Brooklyn who didn't know how to stay down, and eventually grew into one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Then at the end of the film, The Super Soldier embarked on a dangerous mission: return all the gems the Avengers had taken from the timeline and put them back exactly how he found them so as not to destroy reality. That's just as big of an undertaking as stopping Thanos don't you think? We know he accomplished his goal, as evidenced by Old Man Cap, but we robbed a chance to ever see how exactly this unfolded. Because let's be honest, a lot of this seemed impossible for one guy to do! Because yes, he could return things like the Mind Stone and the Reality Stone, but not in the way they originally came. How will that affect things in those timelines? Would Cap stick around to help since he's sorta responsible for the mess? And how exactly did he plan to return the Power Stone and the Soul Stone? It's not like he would have a handy dandy spaceship right? Well, there might have been a clever workaround for this and it probably involves the Space stone! So check out today's video all about the untold, unseen adventure about The First Avenger returning all the gems to their proper timelines. After you're done, be sure to hit that big like and subscribe button for more awesome CBR content like this. And hey, I've heard if you leave a comment, then Disney+ might make this adventure into an animated series! Ok, that's not necessarily true, but we can dream, right? Topic: Falcon & The Winter Soldier Tutorial We begin our Discussion on the Newest Marvel Show, Falcon & The Winter Soldier, which is our newest Marvel series. Does it live up to Wanda Vision, check out next episode to find out. Who is The Falcon? Comic History First introduced in 1969, Samuel Wilson was rescued by Steve Rogers, Captain America, from a Caribbean island where the Red Skull had planned on experimenting on Sam. After fighting the Red Skull, Sam would go on to continue working with Captain America. It was during this first outing that he was given the power to telepathically communicate with Birds, especially a falcon her name Redwing, but the Red Skull and a Cosmic Cube. It wasn't until 5 years later that he was given a pair of wings by Black Panther that allowed him to fly. Falcon remained a loyal partner to Steve Roger, even helping train his replacements during time in which Steve stepped down as Captain America. During this time, Falcon learned to command other birds beyond Redwing, and became capable of command multiple types of birds. Falcon was also of the people to Steve Roger's Secret Avengers, opposing the Super-Human Registration Act, the main catalyst of the Civil War in the comics. A major turning point in the character came in 2014, when Steve Roger has his Super Soldier serum neutralized, causing him to rapidly age to the age of 90. Without the power of the serum, same passed on the shield and mantle of Captain America to the Falcon. Falcon would go on to act as Captain America, utilizing the wings of Falcon and the Shield of Captain America. His numerous adventures led to a new Avengers team, along with for a time, leaving SHIELD due to their work on a New Cosmic Cube. SHIELD would eventually make their new Comic Cube, which took on the vestige of a young girl named Kobik. During these eventually the original Captain America was dying, but Kobik revitalized Steve Rogers, allowing him to retake the title of Captain America. This version of Steve Rogers however was a fascist version that was actually a sleeper agent for Hydra. While Falcon's faith in American Government had wavered, he return the title of Captain America to Steve Rogers(Fascist), and departed the country to help elsewhere. Upon Falcon's return, he learned that Steve Rogers(F) had taken up the mantle as the leader of Hydra. Falcon returned to being Captain America once again, and assisted the Avengers in rebuilding the Cosmic Cube to help Kobik, who actually had the real Steve Rogers inside her. Completing the Cube, freed Steve Rogers, and allowed him to beat the Steve Rogers(F). Understanding that Steve Rogers could do more benefit as Captain American than he could, he returned the Mantle of Steve Roger, and returned to being just the Falcon. Falcon, then working for a Veteran's Assistance group came across Bucky Barnes, and aided him in helping find soldiers that had gone missing. Powers Avian Telepathy – Ability to communicate and commands birds. Master Martial Artist – After having trained with Steve Rogers, Falcon became a proficient fighter in various fighting styles and forms. Peak Human Condition – Including peak strength and endurance. Master Aerialist – As a flying hero, he is an amazing fighter in the air, some would say better than Ironman or Captain Marvel. Falcon Wings – A Set of Wakandan created Wings that give Falcon the power of flight. Captain America Shield + Uniform – Former MCU Version The MCU version of Falcon Finds him as a former Rescue Paratrooper, who upon returning home find himself working the VA until he volunteers to help Steve Rogers during the events of Winter Soldier Movie. He continues as an Avenger post Age of Ultron, and is the first to be on Steve Rogers side during the events of Civil War. He is snapped out of existence at the end of Infinity War, only to return at end of Endgame. Who is The Winter Soldier? Comic History First introduced in 1940 as the young sidekick of Steve Rogers as Captain America, the James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes was the Teenage hero working alongside Steve Rogers during World War II. Toward the end of the war in 1945, Captain America and Bucky were on the hunt for a bad guy, then the plane they were on was plummeting in to the Atlantic Ocean. Both men attempted to escape, but Bucky's costume was snagged on the plan upon exiting, causing the plan to crash in to the ocean and for him to be presumed dead. Captain America attempted to save his companion, but was sent into suspended animation, being frozen in the waters of the Atlantic. In 1946, the Soviets were attempting to find Captain America, instead found Bucky, who had survived the crash, but who had lost his left arm and put in to a similar suspended animation like this mentor. Though at the peak of human conditioning due to working and training alongside Captain America, Bucky survived and was reprogrammed by the Soviets to become their personal Assassin, the Winter Soldier. As the Winter Soldier, he carried out the bulk of secret, and famous, Assassinations across the world for many years. His left arm replaced with a new cybernetic arm when ever advancements in technology would allow. He would at one point become the teacher and trainer for a young Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow, while she training. They two developed a romantic relationship, but after a failed assassination mission, Bucky was deemed too unstable, and his mind was wiped after each mission, and placed in Suspended Animation until a mission was needed. During an event in 2004, where the Winter Soldier was activated to steal the Red Skull's new Cosmic Cube, he met and fought with Captain America, who later learned that the Winter Soldier had been his best friend this entire time. Using the power of the newly created Cosmic Cube, Captain America restored Bucky's memories, but the sudden rush of emotions and remorse over the life he had led caused Bucky to destroy the newly created Cosmic Cube, transporting him elsewhere in the process. For the next few years, Bucky began hunting his captors, eliminating them and becoming a SHIELD secret agent for Nick Fury. Following the Events of Civil War, Bucky blamed Tony Stark and Red Skull for killing Steve Rogers. Bucky would eventually confront both men, but lost to the Red Skull. And when confronting Tony Stark, Stark passed along Steve Roger's final wish for Bucky, that he save Bucky from his decent to violence and madness. Tony Stark believing the best way to do this, was for Bucky to become the New Captain America. Bucky accepted, but wanted the mental implants removed, and that he answered to no one, not SHIELD or Tony Stark. For the next few years, Bucky acted as Captain America, eventually winning over the Avengers and the US Government, on his way to reforming his life; he even rekindled his romance with Black Widow. Even when Steve Rogers was revived and was capable of taking back the mantle of Captain America, he continued to let Bucky carry on the title, believing that he was the better individual to carry on that legacy, and that the world didn't need Two Captain Americas. During the Fear Itself event, a villain powered by a similar Hammer to Thor's beat Bucky to within an inch of his life during an attack on Washington DC, saved by a Nick Fury and his ‘Infinity Formula'. Steve Rogers took back up the mantle of Captain America after his friend seemingly thought dead, with Bucky believing it was better that he return to his Winter Soldier title instead. Winter Soldier would continue to work behind the scene of super heroics, though seemingly out of the picture for a majority of the major events. Bucky was a part of the team that went in to a Villains prison, in order to rescue the newly created Cosmic Cube, Kobik, and was seemingly there when Steve Rogers (F), was revived. Years later, upon learning that the revived Steve Rogers was actually a Fascist version, he worked along side the Avengers to find the real Steve Rogers. After helping complete the cube, he shrunk down in size with Ant Man and rescued the real Steve Rogers from the cube. Powers Master Martial Artist – After having trained with Steve Rogers, Falcon became a proficient fighter in various fighting styles and forms. Peak Human Condition – Including peak strength and endurance. Infinity Formula – a diluted version of the Elixir of Life, it slows down the aging process and seemingly give the user peak physical conditions. However, unlike Steve Roger's Super Soldier Serum, this Formula must be taken regularly once a year in order to stay in peak condition. Prior to receiving it, Bucky had already been at Peak Human Condition, which only added to his skills. Cybernetic Arm – Replacing his missing left arm that was lost during World War II, his arm is improved with new technology over the years. MCU Version The MCU Version follows very similar to Comics, aging up Bucky to be a similar age to Steve Rogers during World War II. Bucky, unlike his Comics version, did receive an experimental version of the Super Soldier Serum, turning him into a Super Soldier in the process, though seemingly not to the point that it was noticeable by others. Rather than being lost in the Ocean similar to Steve Rogers, he was instead lost over a ravine, only to be rescued by Hydra and turned in to the Winter Soldier. Following the event of the Winter Soldier, Bucky left Hydra and began seeking out who he was, only to be blamed for an attack on Wakanda leader, King T'Chaka. During the events of Civil War, Steve Roger protected Bucky, as he realized Bucky wasn't the enemy, only doing the bidding of programming by Hydra agents. Bucky lost his initial cybernetic arm, but was rescued by Steve Rogers, who escaped to Wakanda with the help of the Black Panther. While in Wakanda, he was deprogrammed and the mental implants were removed. During the events of Infinity War, he aided Steve Rogers and other heroes in protecting Vision while the Mind Stone was being removed, receiving a new Vibranium Arm to replace his lost cybernetic arm. He was snapped Away by Thanos, just like the Falcon, but returned during the Events of Endgame. Cosmic Cube Cosmic Cubes are cube objects that allow for reality manipulation, control over matter and energy, and basically answers to the sentient being owning them, often being considered omni-wish granting devices. Their creation is generally a well guarded secret and very difficult, but by opening up a portal to a universe inhabited by ‘Beyonders', you can suck out some of the energy in that universe and contain it in a cube. The Cosmic Cube typically get created and wielded by individuals without any spectacular super powers, like the Red Skull. They're a common source of conflict within Captain America stories, as they're the common focus and creation by those seeking more power. While on a similar level to Infinity Stones, they're not nearly as powerful and omnipotent, as they can't effect time or the soul. In the MCU, the Tesseract was considered a Cosmic Cube, before it was determined that it was the Space Stone in hiding. Where are we at in the Marvel Timeline? Prior to the Events of Endgame, half of all life in the universe was snapped away, both Sam and Bucky included. While Endgame only shows a tiny bit of the life returning to normal, Bucky went on to work with the US Government as a deep cover agent, working to root out Hydra agents, and trying to make amends for the damage he did. Falcon continued working alongside the Military, continuing his work as an Avenger. As a part of re-intergrating those lost by the Snap, and returned during the Blip, the Global Repatriation Council was created to aid those returning from the Blip. As a part of their work, they reinstated country boundaries and aimed to return those snapped away back to their old lives. However, any refugees from other countries ended up buying or moving in to new homes and places left behind by those who were Snapped away, and upon the return of original owners, many of those refugees were forcibly removed by the owner or local governments from their new homes, and placed into resettlement camps. Many in these camps resent the GRC, as they are poor infrastructure and lack of supplies necessary for those that were displaced. As of recent the GRC, in an effort to return to the world of 5 years prior to the snap, has begun implementing deportation for refugees to their original countries of origin, which has only increased anger and tensions of the Refugees.

Wanda Vision review So, there’s this show about a magical woman and he robot husband… and it take place in 1950s… no wait 1960s…. or was it the 90s? This was a very strange series to watch, but one that was very much a desired fleshing out for the Scarlet Witch, and also for Vision. And we both has a blast watching it. Spoilers – This show will spoil elements and Episodes of Wanda Vision, so you have been warned. Wanda Maximoff – Elizabeth Olsen An avenger who was previously altered by the Mind Stone, increasing her latent magical powers. Officially now known as the Scarlet Witch, a moniker for the type of witch that can use chaos magic. Wanda is initially not entirely aware that she created this reality, but has slowly figured out that she has. She depart at the end of the series, but it rumored to return during Dr. Strange’s next movie, possibly as a villain. It is revealed that the reason her altered reality mimics sitcoms is because she loved them as a child, watching them with her family. The character’s growth however has been mostly resolved around her repeated losses of a family, either her parents, Pietro, Vision, and now her altered reality family. Vision – Paul Bettany An android and former Avenger. He is fact not the actual Vision, but a creation of Wanda’s magic within her reality. A later nod to the white Vision, or ‘The Vision’, later appears and they duke it out, but in the aftermath, the second vision disappears and is unknown where he is. Paul Bettany sited his performance was based off Dick Van Dyke and Hugh Laurie. Billy and Tommy Maximoff – Julian hilliard & Jett Klyne Manifestations of Wanda’s imagination and powers within the ‘Hex’. They twins are similar representations as first seen in the comic when they were made up of both Wanda’s magic and the Marvel Satan/Devil: Mephisto. Similar to their comic origins, both boys have the powers of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, mimicking their comic book origins. In the comics, both boys come back at Wiccan and Speed, whose souls are the same Billy and Tommy, and though not brothers, share a familiar bond. Both children’s soul may continue to exist in some form, something which may motivate Wanda in the future. Monica Rambeau – Teyonah Parris Character was last seen in Captain Marvel, as the daughter of Captain Marvel’s best friend. As a cause of going through the ‘Hex’ barrier, she has absorbed some level of powers, which gives her super powers. Which ones are unknown, though in the comics, she has the ability to change in to energy of any kind, which grants her some abilities, but which is unknown and haven’t been properly explored. The character will return in Captain Marvel 2. Jimmy Woo - Randall Park An FBI agent who happens to be the first to report to the ‘Hex’. He was last seen in Ant Man and the Wasp (Ant Man 2), previously as Scott Lang’s parole officer. One joke returning his time during Ant Man is the card trick he first displays for Monica Rambeau when they first meet. Darcy Lewis – Kat Dennings An astrophysicist previously seen in both Thor and Thor 2, originally an intern following around Jane Foster for student credits. She has since upgraded to a full on Astrophysicist in the many years and is now a full time scientist with her own qualifications. She is the first to discover the TV show hidden in the background radiation. Ralph Bohner/Pietro Maximoff – Evan Peters Initially appearing as the twin brother to Wanda, Evan Peters was the X-men version of Quicksilver, who was cast and portrayed as Peter Maximoff/Quicksilver in X-men: Days of Future Past. It’s interesting for him to be cast as this version’s Pietro, as a wink-and-nod to how sitcoms would recast character without any storyline reason for them changing all the sudden. It is eventually revealed that he was given his powers by Agatha Harkness and mind controlled in believing he was Wanda’s brother. Agnes/Agatha Harkness – Kathryn Hahn Originally portraying captured resident Agnes, the nosy neighbor, she is eventually revealed ot be Agatha Harkness, another witch with similar powers to Wanda, but with the ability to absorb magical powers from other witches. Though different from the comics, as Agatha Harkness is a much older witch in the series, she retains some of the mentor like qualities from her original comic version. She is the one who informs Wanda of who she is and what kind of powers she really has, as well as giving her early lessons on magic of Witches. Illusions to TV Sitcoms Episode 1 – Dick Van Dyke Show and other ‘American Dream’ style Sitcoms of the 1950s Episode 2 – Bewitched and other fantasy-sitcoms of the 1960s Episode 4 – The Brady Bunch and other American Family Sitcoms of the 1970s Episode 5 – Family Ties & Growing Pains, and other American Family sitcoms of the 1980s. Episode 6 – Malcom in the Middle and other sitcoms of the later 90s and early 2000s. Episode 7 – Modern Family & the Office, and other sitcoms of the 2000s and 2010s. S.W.O.R.D. (Sentient Weapon Observation and Response Division) A new organization that has replaced S.H.I.E.L.D. as an American peace keeping force meant to deal with superheroes and such. While S.H.I.E.L.D. does continue to exist, it is considered under the radar and not officially funded by the United States. S.W.O.R.D. was originally build with the intent of combating and researching extraterrestrial operations and activity, mainly anything happening outside of the Earth Sphere. In the comics, the organization is an Arm of S.H.I.E.L.D, with its purpose being very similar. Infinity Stones continuing role While they may have been destroyed, the Infinity Stones continue to play a role the story, speaking to the various strangeness of character. It’s theorized that the individual stones don’t actually give the powers their most known for to people in which it imbues powers to. IE: Wanda’s powers mimic/mirror the Reality Stone more so than Mind Stone, even in the visual language as her powers are red, not yellow. QuickSilver’s power mimic the Space Stone more than the Mind Stone, even in the visual language as being Blue in color. Weapons created by Hydra using the Space Stone mimic the Power Stone at the end of the day. Same for Captain Marvel, whose powers seem to mimic the Power Stone more so than the Space Stone. Theory holds that more powered Super Heroes, rather than through technology or science, will be powered due to radiation given off by those who were previously enhanced by the Infinity Stones. This includes potentially the Fantastic Four. Trivia Each Episode reportedly cost around $25 Million dollars, making it the most expensive tv series per episode. Wanda’s voice saying “Previously on WandaVision” get progressively less cheerful as episodes progress. Each of the first 7 episodes are roughly 20-30 minutes long, mirroring classic sitcom episode lengths, with the 8th and 9th episodes being around 40 minutes long.

Topic: WandaVision Tutorial With the much anticipated return of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the next major collection of material for the universe is scheduled to be TV shows, primarily featuring the other Avengers, and not the main set. And having missed out on Black Widow, which has been very patiently waiting since the summer of 2020, the first new installment in the Phase 4 is a TV series about Wanda and Vision. So lets get mom up to speed. Where did we leave off? Last major production was Spiderman Far From Home, set a few weeks in theory after the end of Avengers: Endgame. At the end of Endgame, everyone originally blinked out of existence by Thanos, known as the ‘Blip’ or the ‘Snap’, returns and the world is going through the process of healing and getting back to normal as nearly half the population returns from a five year absence. In the case of Wanda, she had only recently returned from being blinked out of existence, fighting with Thanos and memorializing Tony Stark after his death. Her exact whereabouts after the events of End Game are a mystery. In the case of Vision, Vision is considered dead at the end of Avengers: Infinity Wars, having first been up in the devastation left behind when Wanda Destroyed the Mind Stone, only for Thanos to reverse time, bring vision back, and kill him a second time in front of Wanda when he ripping the Mind Stone out of his head. Its presumed that his pieces were picked up in Wakanda and transported to the Avenger’s facilities for safe keeping. Mutants in MCU To really walk about Wanda is also to talk about Mutants and the X-men in the MCU. During the late 90s, Marvel was actually in a fairly bad position, having filed for Bankruptcy protection in 1997. It was during this time, that marvel began selling the rights for their character to other movie studios, in an effort to infuse cash in to their holdings. This led to movies such as Blade (1998), X-men (2000), Spiderman (2002), and The Hulk (2003). As a part of the deal, X-men franchise’s TV and Film rights were sold to FOX, but not just the X-men, but the concept of Mutants as well. This meant that any character that was a Mutant was considered fair game for FOX to make movies out of. Enter 2006, and Marvel Studios begins preproduction on Ironman (2008), their first solo Superhero flim, and the kick off what we know today as the MCU. During the this time, X-men movies were still coming out, but the juggernaut of what Ironman started in 2008 couldn’t be fully realized. Numerous film rights began returning to Marvel, however, mutants were not among them. By 2015, Avengers Age of Ultron (2015), there was an agreement that both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were shared characters with Fox and could be in the MCU, denoting that they weren’t mutants, but were instead, individuals whose powers were given by the Mind Stone. By 2009, Disney had purchased Marvel outright, the Film/Television side was put under different management from the Comic Book/Print side. For the next few years, the Comic Book side began to deemphasize the X-men and Mutants, focusing more on characters they owned out right. There was a push for ‘Inhumans’, a variation on mutants, for a while, along with most major stories only including a few major Mutant characters that were main stream. This culminated it a number of major storylines, including House of M, and even with the death of several major X-men, including Wolverine, Cyclops, and Professor X. By 2015, the leadership of the Comic Book/Print side of the business was ousted and all major developments from all of Marvel were in the hands of Kevin Feige, who has been leading the Film/Television side of the business. And now as of 2019, with Disney now owning FOX media, the rights to the X-men and Mutants are owned once again by Marvel. Fan expectation is that either Marvel will make their own outright X-men movies, or potentially add them in to the MCU in some way. Wanda Maximoff (The Scarlet Witch) Born of Max Eisenhardt, better known as Magneto, alongside her twin brother Petro(Peter) Maximoff, the two are mutants who have been seen throughout the Marvel Universe. She and her brother were raised as Ophans and Gypsies, famously by a Cow-woman named Bolva. A young age, her magical powers began to blossom, and she was trained by one of the most powerful magic users in the world, Agatha Harkness. Wanda and her brother joined their Father, Magneto, for a period of time with the brotherhood of mutants, before eventually joining the Avengers, and being long standing members of it. At some point, she met and fell in love with Vision, with the two being married for a period of time. Though initially unable to have children, through the use of Magic, Wanda gave birth to two sons, Tommy and Billy, but due to shenanigans from the Marvel Devil, Mephisto, the two taken away and their existence nullified. Wanda’s big story primarily revolves around ‘House of M’. At one point, Wanda’s powers became too powerful for her to control, which caused her to lash out uncontrollably in a fit of rage over the mention of her former children. This uncontrolled power eventually warped Vision, who later attacked the Avengers, before being killed by She-Hulk. In the aftermath, Wanda was taken by her Father Magneto to Professor X to get help. The concern however was whether to Kill Wanda or not, as her powers were out of control, which eventually led to the reality bending ‘House of M’, where mutants replaced humans as the dominate species on earth. ‘House of M’ saw many mutants and humans leading happy and ideal lives for themselves, with Magneto ruling over the world, but some individuals still remembered. Eventually, it was discovered that Quicksilver had convinced Wanda to warp reality, and upon Magneto and other heroes regaining their memory, they confronted Quicksilver over what happened, culminated in Quicksilver’s death. Wanda would bring him back to life, but shocked that her Father and Professor X would be willing to kill her, she changed reality back, but said three words, “No More Mutants.” As a result of ‘House of M’, reality was changed back to normal, but 90% of the mutants were depowered and the mutant gene was now dormant and was not suppose to exist in any new children being born. This made mutants more an endangered species on the planet, and moved hundreds of mutant heroes from activity. Eventually, the mutant x gene began reappearing in children, and with some mutants getting their powers back. In later rewrites to the character, Wanda is revealed to just be an Orphan, not a mutant and not the daughter of Magneto, but having lived near a mountain that radiates energy and improved her already dormant magical abilities. This is the version of Wanda we know from the MCU. Powers Wanda’s powers were originally thought to be telekinesis as a mutant, but have since been reconned as being magic. Her original stem from her ability to warp reality, originally it was at the disfavor of those she attacked, causing them to have bad results for actions they took. Later this was evolved in to full reality manipulation, allowing her to warp the very nature and reality around her, not unlike the Reality Stone. She is capable of various other magical schools associates with Magical Crafts performed by Dr Strange and the like. Her main claim to fame relates her ‘Chaos Magic’, which allows her to shape reality as a whole. In the MCU, her powers stem from the Mind Stone, imbuing her with telekinesis and telepathy abilities. For all extensive purposes, they have not been fully explored in the MCU. Vision A ‘Synthezoid’, a special type of Android that contains all living tissues and body parts of a human, plus the ‘Horton Cells’, which provides strength, durability, and resistance. He was built by Ultron, using parts from another state of the art android call the ‘Human Torch’(Not the same character), and with a special gem called the ‘Solar Gem’, which operates much like a human, but hundreds of times faster. This gem is similar placed as the Mind Stone for the MCU version of Vision. Originally, Vision was created by Ultron with the intent of being a double agent. But realizing that he didn’t want to fight human, he changed sides and has been a leading member of the Avengers since. Vision would take part in multiple stories, even having a relationship with Wanda for a while. At one point, Vision was kidnapped and dismantled by a bad guy. He was eventually rebuilt by Tony Stark, but minus the synthetic red skin he previously had, revealing a white, neutral exterior, and also minus his emotions. This second Vision continued his relationship with Wanda, but after due the events prior to ‘House of M’ he was ripped apart by the She-Hulk after Vision spawned a bunch of mini-Ultrons from him. A third Vision was built some time later, using the parts from the last, and it was this version that eventually built his own family of Visions, attempting to learn more about the human condition and emotions, he started his own family as a result. Powers: As a Synthezoid made from the android Human Torch and using the Solar Gem, Vision’s body allows him to project solar rays as beams of energy at his targets. As well, due to the ‘Horton Cells’ in his body, he can modulate his density, allowing him to pass through walls and people, but also to strength himself and make him super strong and super durable. What to Expect? Speculation about the series presumes that the series will likely have something to do with reality manipulation. The series may also launch new super heroes and provide knowledge on what happened to vision. There is a concern that the events will be a mixture of House of M and Visions, the former as far an ideal life for Wanda and the later in the sense that Vision started a family in the suburbs.

Unpopular opinion: Many Marvel fans are over theorizing themselves out of fun - they're headed in a direction of many Star Wars fans. Over its run, I avoided a lot of the weekly speculation on WandaVision intentionally. I wanted to take in the run as a show largely without influence - just try to watch it for itself and not set in my mind any pre-conceived directions. After watching the finale I went on twitter and saw a common thread - people who expressed disappointed were largely because things didn't go as they had expected (see my Star Wars point?). I tried my best to search back prior weeks and saw similar speculation and results each week. The only real consistent exception to this was those who were completely blind sided at the start of the series - which I totally get why they felt that way. Even things like the alleged cameo was ruined by people's speculation. When I read what Elizabeth Olsen said, the Evan Peters cameo immediately struck me as it when it popped it's head. Yet, people kept holding off for that last minute cameo because they had pre-conceived in their mind what her words meant (I never expected it because I truly thought the Peters cameo was huge for a variety of reasons universe wise). What really got me was reading the speculation that happened after last week's episode. As someone who intentionally avoided most of this, the penultimate episode clearly to me served to explain the twist that was revealed the prior episode. It was too the end to be a fake out - so I took it at face value. Yet even trying to avoid it, I heard so many theories on why this was a fake out essentially. Could you imagine if two out of the last three episodes were essentially wasting time with a misdirection? However, for many they were so caught up in their speculation they felt it was the case. Overall, I'm glad I watched it week to week, but further glad I avoided the excessive speculation. I'm still catching up on the back weeks of speculation, but based on what I'm seeing so far, I'm really glad I avoided it. I really enjoyed every single episode with this approach. I had time yesterday for a rewatch and on this Saturday rewatched the final two episodes. If something is worth picking up from my ramblings, great. Ois Guade! Andreas Rewatch Wandavision Thoughts before the finale: 1x01: Ohh, now I understand what Wanda was thinking about when Vision mentioned getting "tongue-tied". Any chance Agnes influenced the Hart's to push those questions onto Wanda and Vision? Mr. Hart's mouth was empty and we didn't see him eat more when Wanda made him choke on something. 1x02: "Get the light" meaning like "Chili con carne"?? Opening sequence the Heart Shape just like in the land purchase certificate! Hydra castle wallpaper also visible when Wanda moves from kitchen to living room. Still don't get why Agnes was pushing Wanda so much to impress Dottie. We didn't see her real face in Westview in Ep 8, did we? Westview town square still every time looks too artificial. In the "Agatha All Along" sequence she did something with Senor Scratchy during the magic show. But didn't notice what. "For the children" will it play a role in ep 9?? So what did happen to Agent Franklin aka. The Beekeeper? Did he get cancelled or did Wanda transform him to Billy and Tommy? 1x03: Wanda transferred Pietro's Super Speed to Vision in her reality I guess. Still very impressed by Elizabeth Olsen's comedic and dramatic acting skills. All the awards to her! Especially when she changes her accent and posture. The Soudscape in this show, especially when Wanda questions Geraldine is worth mentioning. 1x04: Lost half the personal after The Blip, so that means after the people appeared again 3 weeks ago. So after Wanda left the SWORD facility, did Hayward know she ended up in Westview so he sent Monica intentionally there?? That Witness better be revealed in the season finale. I still have no clue. And the logo on the copcar said Eastview. Can't be a coincidence that the missing person ended up in the same town like where Vision allegedly bought that lot. Still no dossier on Dottie. After first baby it took a minute during the broadcast for the 2nd to appear. Here Darcy immediately exclaimed "Twins". So a bit was censored cause it missed Vision arriving with the Doc. The soundtrack and everything after Wanda had expelled Monica, still giving me chills. 1x05: During the briefing scene on the TVs in the background we see scenes from the sitcom in 1x03 AND 1x05 Hayward ordering the drone strike, did he do it intentionally cause he hoped for Wanda to imbue it with her magic powers? Her eyes when Wanda kneels down to talk to the Twins. So mesmerizing! "Say WHAT again MF, I Dare you, I double DARE you!!" 1x06: "The guy who almost got murdered by his own murder squad" My favorite comedic line of the series. Only this time noticed behind the Woman on a loop her husband on a loop as well in the background. So if everything Wanda created in the hex has a foundation of being there before, how can Hayward track Vision with his vibranium signature? Still no idea what was Agartha's intention with her conversation with Vision. The agent who was with Darcy, they really left him alone when the barrier expanded. 1x07: Serious question, when you have subtitles on, during the scene of Wanda making breakfast, do you see like a radio commentator text on subtitles but don't hear anything? It is about Halloween. Gonna imagine the contortionist in the circus set is the same actress from Game of Thrones Whoa! While Wanda's realities are bugging, there are just glimpses of the real Westview, meaning there is no house she is standing in. Agents of SHIELD had some fantastic Visual Effects, but this show is on another level! Wanda attacking Monica, reminding me of Bilbo Baggins turning scary when reaching for the ring from Frodo in Rivendell. Oh, there was Dottie before the superhero landing following thoughts are AFTER watching 1x09 1x08: Agatha really was always a superb actress. The Absorbing enchantress of the Mystical Arts. Huh, did you expect that the runes will come into play again? Some "The Americans" vibes with the Sokovia setting and shoutout to Christophe Beck with the variant score in this episode and complete series. The visuals, the girl portraying Young Wanda and the score again resulting in some wet eyes. Did we get a definite answer if Wanda already had some magic powers to stop the bomb, which were only supercharged by the mind stone? Finally we get to see the moment. Like when Peter Quill touched the Infinity Stone. The gem chooses them like the One True Ring. I would also love to have a Synthezoid to watch entertainment programmes with me. Agatha fake-removing a tear...all the praise for Katheryn Hahn and Elizabeth Olsen. Additionally props to Paul Bettany during this series! "dismantling" and "rebuilding" sounds like an Antithesis to me! How did Hayward suspect that Wanda has the power to reactivate Vision? Pure chills during the creation scene. Without her inherent Magical Powers Wanda might have not survived the contact with the Mind Stone? "making breakfast for dinner", ohhh callback to the first episode The mix of chaos magic energy and Mind Stone energy (which merged with Wanda) being the only source to power up Whision? 1x09: Good Idea by Wanda, to use her powers against Agatha like Darth Vader flinging stuff at Luke in Bespin. We didn't see Whision entering the Hex because of Plot Requires As good as the series is, Hayward was for me not a really well enough written antagonist. Even Peters as a mind-controlled Ralph Bohner (ohhh that is Ralph), a bit of a cop-out for my taste. And still nothing about the missing person. When Wanda disappears in front of Agatha, didn't think she had the knowledge to add the Runes to her Hex. And with that memory dump, Whision is like, See ya Suckkas. Gonna make my own home, with Black Jack and Nutten! No hint in this finale what Wanda has unleashed. 60-40 in a future project we will see her undoing the spell on Agatha. "Who knows what I might be next", so he will leave it up for Whision to decide if he wants to meet up with Wanda. Final End Credits scene, gonna speculate that the Scarlet Witch is learning the Darkhold to restore the Twins. In Salem in 1693, a coven of witches led by her mother Evanora attempt to kill Agatha for practicing dark magic, but she drains their life forces. In the present, Agatha demands to know how Wanda is controlling Westview and forces her to relive key moments of her life. Agatha learns that Wanda has had magical abilities since she was a child which were later amplified by the Mind Stone, and that she has always enjoyed watching various sitcoms. After the Blip, Wanda visited S.W.O.R.D. to recover Vision's body, but Hayward refused to let her bury him. Unable to feel any life in Vision, she drove to a lot in Westview that he had bought for her before his death so they could live there together. In a fit of grief, she manifested a house on the lot and a new version of Vision, and extended the Hex across the entire town. Agatha concludes that Wanda possesses a legendary form of magic called chaos magic, and dubs her the "Scarlet Witch". In a mid-credits scene, Hayward reactivates the original Vision's now all-white reassembled corpse.

Marvel Studios presents “WandaVision,” a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. Starring: Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Katherine Hahn WandaVision's sitcom formula spiraled into beautiful chaos Friday, as episode 8 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe show landed on Disney Plus. Turns out the witch Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) was behind pretty much all the weirdness so far, and she's got Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) trapped in her ludicrously creepy basement. Outside the house, newly superpowered SWORD agent Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) was confronted by Pietro Maximoff (Evan Peters), who's seemingly been under Agatha's control since arriving from the X-Men universe. Also, astrophysicist Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) filled in Wanda's husband, Vision (Paul Bettany), on the past he'd forgotten, and he's on his way home. This whole episode is basically Agatha trying to figure out exactly what Wanda is, since her power is off the charts. After running through pivotal moments in the Avenger's past and acting as a pretty mean therapist, Agatha realizes she's wielding Chaos magic and is capable of "spontaneous creation," before uttering the thing we wanted to hear. "And that makes you the Scarlet Witch." Agatha isn't even pretending to be nice now. This isn't a name we've heard previously in the MCU, but it's been her code name since her first appearance in X-Men No. 4 in 1964. Given what we saw earlier in the episode, it seems like Wanda had some latent ability to tap into this magic and it was enhanced by the Mind Stone. Agatha presumably wants to control this power, but to what end? Agatha also has Wanda's magically created kids Billy and Tommy on creepy magic leashes, which really isn't OK. _____________________________________________ BE SURE TO LIKE, COMMENT, AND SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL.....BEST OF ALL ITS FREE!!! :) __________________________________________ Social Media Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/twonerdsatabar Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TwoNerdsataBar/ _______________________________________________ Fair Use disclaimer: Copyright Disclaimer under section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, education and research. What's going on with the near-motionless people at the edge of town. The moment Vision decides things are REALLY bad in town. Poor Agnes: her level of involvement and awareness. The emotional realism of the MCU and how its made the MCU so successful. The theory that explains the Hex origin, Vision being alive, his mind-stone powers, and free will. The Mind Stone theory! WandaVision's Scooby Doo episode. Hayward's true agenda. What THAT COMMERCIAL reveals about the mysteries of the show. How could the children have been concieved? 0:20 Amazin AsianNow that the House of X and Powers of X limited series have been completed, how do you see ideas from those being used to introduce the X-Men and mutants into the MCU? Do you think it'll just be select ideas like the nation of Krakoa and the gifts that it can bestow to humankind, or something more than that?5:38 Matt GilbertIt seems clear to me that Bucky knew that he would not see Steve again as Steve left to return the infinity stones, as evidenced by the line "I'll miss you buddy" and other moments in that scene. If you agree this is true, when could Steve have possibly clued in Bucky?9:07 StevenIt seems like Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and Hawkeye could all be going into production this Summer and/or this Fall. Do you think this approach will lead to a large number of Marvel Series being released from August to December of 2021, or are they stockpiling a little bit so that they know what they can have ready for early 2022?15:19 Brett HeierSince Sam Rami is directing DS2, do you think it is possible he directs the final episode of Wandavision? And if not Rami, maybe Scott Derrickson since he is still an Executive Producer on Doctor Strange? I think this would be a good way to tie the two together.18:24 Paul ShearmanHey Sean. Do you expect that we will get ‘The Art Of' books for the Disney+ Marvel shows? I know you'll be hoping so (just like me)! Thanks, Paul.20:00 Richard Catarino What are your thoughts on WandaVision? Any chance SW and V are trapped in MojoWorld and that Mojo is the main villain of the series?23:33 Adam NighI'm interested in Talos's daughter in Captain Marvel. I feel like they were setting her up to be someone important, especially when Monica Rambeaux tells her to never change her eyes. That seems significant. Do you have any theories about who she is? Do the comics develop that? My wife's theory is that she is Nebula. The age lines up about right and if that were true, with her totally replaced mechanical body, it makes that line about her eyes really depressing. Do you think that holds up?26:12 Matt GilbertDo you suppose that Steve Rogers would really go back to 2012, restore the Mind Stone to Loki's scepter and turn it over to HYDRA when the chance to use it to restore the Vision back to life after the events of Infinity War is so tantalizing? Imagine going back to Wakanda 2017, bundling it up with Vision's body, and storing it away where Shuri would be sure to find it upon blipping back to life. What would you do? 0:20 Anthony LawreyWho is one character that has been announced for Phase 4 you would have loved to see introduced in an earlier phase and included in the Infinity Saga?1:13 Paul ShearmanHey Sean and everyone. Do you think they may have a connectivity between all the What If...? shows, similar to the MCU, or be ‘one and done' standalones? Thanks as always, have a great week!3:13 Steven 84Who is a character introduced in Phase 3 that you think could have worked if they waited til Phase 4 to introduce?5:26 Steven 84How old would you prefer Cyclops, Jean, and Beast be when they are introduced? One possibility is to have the main X-Men be teenagers when they are introduced, but do you think it could work to have the original X-Men be shown in their late 20's to mid 30's, and be teachers to a new group of teens would share the main focus?9:58 Kerry Vanderberg Who do you think took Nick Fury's shoes?10:12 Chris CascioSo I don't know if you hear the rumors of Marvel Studios potentially cast Professor X and Magneto as P.O.C.s. My question is, how do you feel about the possibility of Magnetos Jewish identity being removed, even if it's replaced with another marginalized identity?13:54 Jake WadeIf you had to choose just 5 Phase Four projects to watch, what would you choose and why?14:44 Anthony Lawrey Thinking back to the age where every little detail about a movie wasn't leaked/released to the public the way they are now, do you ever wish details of the MCU were kept more under wraps? Wether it be a villain that's kept secret to avoid a potential storyline driven from the comics that winds up being the plot line for a film, or even just actors that are kept secret (for example Tilda Swinton in Endgame) so their characters aren't speculated.21:15 Michael WeaselboyDo you think Ali's Blade will have the tribal tattoos like Snipes did??21:46 Giuseppe VicarettiDo you think Marvel Studios will make more non-canon Disney+ series and would you want them to? For example, maybe we could have an Avengers or a Fantastic Four Disney+ Original Series that are not canon with the MCU?25:17 David RosenIf the Joker movie Oscar predictions come to fruition, and the movie ends up winning any of the top honors (best picture, actor, director), do you think this could help or hinder marvel studios's chances at garnering favor with the academy for future nominations and wins?38:56 Jeremy EdenIf Marvel were to purchase a catalog of characters from another publisher outside of DC, which character or characters would you like to see integrated into the MCU? Spawn, The Mask, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Tick, Hellboy, other, or please god no don't do that at all?40:16 Cancer PuppetGreetings Sean. Since Marvel Studios is now branching out into television, and with Marvel Television having produced very uneven results with even its best work, I wonder from an overall branding perspective if there's enough value in Marvel Television to continue to produce live action content. Audiences are certainly savvy enough to know the difference at this point, and I can't help but feel that knowing investment in these characters is never going to pay off in the movies casts a pall on these projects. If for no other reason than that it is Marvel, and audiences want that connectivity.44:58 Woo S KimI was just thinking of something while rewatching the scene of Shuri scanning and examining the Mind Stone, from "Avengers: Infinity War" do you believe Sean, that one of the reasons why Shuri is so much smarter than a lot of the older people around her is because she doesn't have the emotional baggage that a Spider-Man, an Iron Man, or a Doctor Banner has and not having that emotional baggage has made her think in ways that her peers have not or could not because Shuri's failures haven't made her doubt her skills, what say you Sean? APRIL 27, 20191:53 Robert KlauserWhat's up Sean? Happy to be on the other side now. Was it always the plan, from your perspective, to have Thor team up with the Guardians even before the well-received feedback from the viewers?3:40 Kevin FandryHow do they return the Soul Stone to its proper time/place and could they have used it, by itself, to bring back the now confirmed dead before putting it back? Time travel is crazy.5:45 Alex WardHi Sean! I can't believe we're here! I loved the movie but honestly still haven't had a chance to process all of it. I am counting on your help! First, it's clear that the MCU is taking a unique approach to time travel. Could you explain how it functions, and more specifically why "old" Cap wouldn't still be in his timeline? After Cap left to return the stones, does that now mean that both Caps had now been existing simultaneously, maybe one in hiding, all this time?10:54 Alex WardI see that you also noticed the possible Namor easter egg. How likely do you think that is the case? And do you think they'll make him an Eternal in the MCU? It seems like that would suit his power level and help set him apart from Aquaman; plus, his mutanthood hasn't been that integral to his character until recent years.14:58 Alex WardOkay, so going forward, the MCU takes place five years in the future, with half the population having not aged in that time? Just making sure. Also, how excited are you about this massive, totally unexpected change?18:02 Alex WardWere you also at once touched and confused by Sam getting the Captain America mantle? Could the "Falcon and Winter Soldier" Disney Plus title be a fakeout in the vein Captain America: The Serpent Society fakeout, and it's actually called "Captain America and the Winter Soldier?" Okay, sorry for the barrage, I know you have a ton of questions to answer! This should be it for now!21:40 Woo S! KimDo you think in the 5 years since the Snap that The Mutant Gene could have been discovered and this wasn't as big a news story because of “The Decemation” or do you think with all the reworking of the timeline thanks to The Avengers and Thanos honestly, that could have created Mutants like some of us True Believers have been speculating for months now?24:04 Woo S! KimAfter the events of “Avengers: Endgame” where would you put your money on, when the “Black Widow” film takes place, before the events of the 2012 Avengers film or the five years in between “The Decemation” and The Infinity Stone Heist?25:33 Chad LeakeHello Sean! First time q&a participant. When Cap and Stark fail the first time to retrieve the Tesseract, and Loki grabs it and uses it, do you think this is how they introduce him back into the Disney Plus series, or even better yet, back into the MCU Movies???? Love the podcast's, I'm glad I've found a place to listen to everything Marvel, and for that I thank you!29:34 Woo S! KimWhat would be your best guess Sean, on where Thor and The Guardians go from here in terms of "guardians of The Galaxy Volume III" and the potential fourth Thor film? Do you think in the least we will see the Son of Odin make a cameo in "Guardians of The Galaxy Volume III" do you think we will see any of The Guardians in the fourth Thor film, I need to add if there is a fourth Thor film and what do you think of the idea of Takia W. and James Gunn soto collaborating on both films together while still doing their own MCU films, I hear that happened with the Russo Brothers and Peyton Reed following "Captain America: Civil War."32:10 Woo S! KimWhat was your biggest surprise/favorite cameo in "Avengers: Endgame?" Mine without a doubt was James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, funny sidebar I was one of about three people in my IMAX screening opening night who knew who he was.36:38 Xavier ArquerosHi Sean, let's get to the point: What prevents the Avengers from going back on time and grab the stones and put them back anytime they need? // Why past Gamora knew that the orb was the power stone when in guardians 1 she does want to sell it until the collector explains what it is? The movie is amazing, and this does not bother me, I'm just curious. Cheers everyone!42:16 Phillip CastroHi Sean! In your opinion, who would be the finalists for Endgame MVA (Most Valuable Avenger) and is this hero also your pick for MVA of this Infinity Saga? Thank you in advance as always!45:05 Matt StuartHey Sean! As someone who is more well versed in the source material than me, can Bruce turn back into his human form or is he permanently Professor Hulk? Look forward to hearing everyone's questions!46:10 AlexIf the five year time jump really remains even after all the snap victims come back then how is it that Ned didn't appear to age like five years haven't passed? Surely he should be in college. The only excuse I can think of is that Ned along with most of the rest of Peter's classmates like Flash, MJ, and Betty were snap victims, so like Peter they come back five years later without having aged five years and we'll find this out in Far From Home.48:38 AlexAnother question: If I'm not mistaken according to the film's time travel rules -- A time traveler cannot actually alter/change course of events of his or her's native timeline by changing something from the past since there is no ripple effect except to create new divergent timelines that exist parallel to the timeline they came from. .....So how does the Steve Rogers from the main MCU timeline make it back to the present timeline we've all been following? if Steve Rogers were to retire in the past and grow old with Peggy then wouldn't Steve in theory end up in a separate timeline different from the one we've been following?50:09 AlexAnother Question: How come they couldn't use the time stone to bring Tony back to life? In Infinity War when the Mad Titan arrived in Wakanda to take the mind stone that Vision had; even though Wanda was able to destroy Thanos managed to revive Vision by turning back time on his destroyed parts and reassemble him back to life after Wanda destroyed him. Couldn't they theoretically do the same thing with Tony's corpse and reverse time on it so they can reset Tony back to the state he was prior to using the Stark Gauntlet?51:37 AlexWhat character from the Fox-library of Marvel characters are you most bummed about never interacting with Tony Stark when they make it over to the MCU now that Mr. Stark is no longer with us?(though RDJ in real life is, thank god!).52:46 AlexDo you think had Captain Marvel had used the Stark Gauntlet instead of Tony she would've survived the power of the Infinity Stones or do you think she'd likely meet the same fate as Mr. Stark? I actually suspect she'd be able to survive the stone's power relatively unharmed like Thanos did but what're your thoughts?54:26 AlexDid you think after Strange was done seeing through the 14 million different possible outcomes of how their battle with Thanos could pan out he already knew Stark's ultimate fate in Endgame?55:29 David RosenHi Sean, First and foremost I want to say thank you to you and the rest of this community for helping make what was one hell of a week and the movie experience of a lifetime. When I think back on this moment in the coming years, sharing the experience seeing this movie will go hand in hand with seeing the actual movie itself. So thank you Sean and everyone else for that. Speaking of runtime, what do you think were some of the things that were possibly cut from the movie? I think I remember at some point it was rumored that there was a 4-5 hour version of the movie and I also felt that some things were just a little rushed along, so I'm curious what extra story elements you think may have been left on the cutting room floor?1:01:39 David RosenWere you a little surprised that we hardly got any mention of Vision aside from a quick reference to him from Wanda or do you think they're just saving it for the Disney+ show?1:02:35 David RosenWould Tony have survived the snap if he was wearing his helmet or do you think he didn't put it on because he came to realize it was his destiny die?1:04:00 Christian FuentesHi Sean. Welcome to a post Endgame world! Did you have an emotional reaction to the movie that had nothing to do with the actual content? For me, I actually had tears by the final battle. Not because of what was going on, but because I started this journey years ago with someone, and they couldn't make it to see the end.1:06:29 Christian FuentesMy second question is, how do you think films will manage the psychological damage going forward? The people who died as a consequence of the snap are still dead (I would guess that would be millions across the universe), and there's the psychological trauma from both those who disappeared and those that were left behind. Thanks for everything that you do!1:09:37 Bill Van NormanHi Sean and fellow patrons in the post Endgame world. I also had a question about the psychological trauma but Christian's question gets at that. My other question is about Vision - do you think we'll see him again? Wanda talked about him and Nat in the same way with the implication that he is dead like Nat. In addition, the Mind Stone is destroyed. Also, the hints about WandaVision sounds like it could be in the past. I hope we can see Vision going forward and not just in a prequel sort of way. What do you think Sean, will we see Vision as part of the MCU future?1:14:18 Michael WeaselboyHey Sean, when I saw Endgame I laughed and cried and got goosebumps. Its nice to finally be able to talk about it. When all of the snapped heroes returned me and my theater were going crazy. That being said my questions are 1.) How did The Avengers create a Gauntlet that easily, I thought since Eitri made it it was supposed to be something super powerful, and since Iron Man made one real quick that also makes me think. Thoughts?? Also who do you think will be the next big bad of the MCU I am hoping for Norman Osborn or Doctor Doom. Who do you think??1:19:56 Dennis Byron GonzalezHi Sean and fellow patrons, Happy Avengers: Endgame weekend to you all! I know I haven't participated in a Q&A in a long time (due to work and family concerns, as it seems quite a few of us have experienced), but what better time to dive back in then now?Since we know Clint as Ronin had been attacking various criminal organizations such as the Yakuza and the Mexican cartels during the five years post-decimation, could his personal war on crime potentially be backstory we see in the proposed Hawkeye limited series for Disney Plus?1:21:58 Dennis Byron GonzalezWe know Captain Marvel spent most of Endgame monitoring other worlds in the universe, before returning for the final battle. Post-Endgame, is there potential for the establishment of a Carol-led organization in charge of interstellar defense such as SWORD or Alpha Flight (assuming Marvel Studios doesn't go with the original Canadian super-team concept)?1:24:53 Dennis Byron GonzalezWhat are your thoughts on the fate of Natasha Romanoff? Her sacrifice to gain the Soul Stone, although I understand why it had to happen, was perhaps the only thing in Endgame that I found upsetting. The death of Black Widow was a possibility I had been dreading since before Infinity War was released last year; I think I've even expressed it as such in a long ago Q&A. I know we will still have Scarlett Johansson returning for the Black Widow film in a couple of years, that is now definitely set in the past, and I find it unfortunate we will not see the journey of Natasha progress into the future. Hopefully, in future films or series we will have more recognition her sacrifice and her memory with the surviving characters. Finally, I just want to say how much I enjoy the show and being part of this community. Listening to the Daily Bugle and the In The Endgame series always helped the workdays go by, and I look forward to the future of Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thank you again, Sean! Thank you as well for establishing the Discord channel! I just joined up, and been having a lot of fun being in conversation with my fellow patrons. Take care!1:29:30 Hector Giovanni NavarreteHey Sean and fellow Patrons! Hope everyone had a great time watching AE. I have the following questions, so far lol:1) In a post AE MCU who will be the ultimate leader of the Avengers now that Cap is basically retired and Tony has passed away? Will it be Carol while she is always in space helping other planets, T'Challa who is the kind of a nation, or someone else like Sam? 1:32:19 Hector Giovanni Navarrete2) Did it kinda bother you that we got no answer as to why Nick Fury waiting only till IW to call CM? So we are just left with the CM movies' explanation of IW was the “only emergency”? 1:33:37 Hector Giovanni Navarrete3) For GOTG V.3 we know that even when James Gunn was fired, MS was still going to use his script. With how AE ended are we to assume that, that script includes Thor? And also we see Peter looking at a monitor searching for Gamora, is that 2014 Gamora or IW Gamora? 1:36:47 Woo S! KimI am ready for a change in the MCU. Don't get me wrong, I love and will miss Captain Rogers, Black Widow, and Iron Man, but in the immortal words of Robert Downey Jr. I think it was the correct time for them to hang up their jersey's. Do you find it rather refreshing that even though we know "The Eternals" is coming, "Shang-Chi" etc, not to mention X-Men and "Fantastic 4 in the coming years, we know those stories are coming but we don't know what those stories are about and or what the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to be, I was sad Opening Night, but now I am really excited, do you feel the same way I do, that it is time for a change in the MCU?1:39:41 Ronald AcostaHey Sean!! Got that minor hiccup on my account fixed by support so thanks for that. It's been a while since I've chimed in with any questions. Anyway, ***spoiler tag*** I'm the type of person who takes a while for my emotions to hit me. Or maybe it's because I was in shock although it was something that we all suspected for years now that this would be the end for Tony. But at which point did you start to cry as it relates to Tony's death? For me it was Morgan's cheeseburger callback. That instantaneously tore me to shreds and immediately took me back to 2008. Oh my goodness the feels!! This has been such an awesome journey and if anyone else would like to chime in with an answer to this q, by all means!!!1:42:52 MayaHey Sean! Walking out of my third viewing as we speak. Thanks for being the first to tell us about the Namor tease in the discord. During this last rewatch I noticed there were significant disturbances to the water in the battle scene. Maybe I was just reading into it, but it seemed like there was a huge focus on it even though there was enough harm from Thanos' army to be worrying about the water. Do you think that the heavy disturbance coming from Sanctuary and Dr. Strange's magic is a reason Namor pays visit to land? If we do see him, it is crazy to think that him emerging would be for something other than half of his people dusting and coming back. Nevertheless I really hope he makes it in the MCU.1:45:38 MayaSomeone I met at the theater who was also on his repeat viewing said he thinks the little boy who Scott Lang asked “What happened?” is the future Ghost Rider. That definitely caught me off guard and seems kind of far fetched. Have you heard this theory? What do you think? Do you think he could potentially be someone we see again in the MCU? Thank you for all that you do! The road to Endgame wouldn't have been the same without you! 1:47:30 Mookie JohnsonWhy do you believe Cap is worthy to lift Thor's Hammer in Endgame but not in Age of Ultron now that you've seen Endgame?1:49:55 Mookie JohnsonDid Cap have to return Mjolnir to the timeline when he returned the Reality stone?1:50:30 Mookie JohnsonDo you think we ever get to see Cap's reaction to Red Skull being the Soul stone protector?1:51:43 Mookie JohnsonIt was super exciting to get another "she's not alone" moment, but sad Black Widow couldn't be there... do you think that the Female avengers movie still happens without Natasha and did they establish enough in the story for Valkyrie to "lead the charge" for the female Avengers group in the MCU? I think it'd be fitting given Tessa Thompson "spearheading" the effort off-screen.1:53:59 Mookie JohnsonWill Professor Hulk's arm ever heal or is he sidelined from battle going forward unless he uses the Hulkbuster Armor?1:55:10 Mookie JohnsonI'm glad we finally got to hear Cap say "Avengers Assemble". Are you satisfied with when and how we got it both from Cap's perspective in the story and ours as fans watching it? Thank you for creating this wonderful community and sacrificing so much of your time for us. You are areal life Hero for us MCU fans! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Sean answers your Marvel questions!0:34 Alex WardHey Sean! Happy Fox acquisition day! I may be remembering wrong, but did Disney immediately announce more films when they purchased Lucasfilm? If so, do you think that may be why so many fans are expecting an announcement from Marvel about an X-Men or FF movie's sooner than it'll actually happen? Also, if they did immediately announce new Star Wars films, how was that situation different from this one? Just that Star Wars films were a given? Thanks Sean!7:25 Robert KlauserMaybe the Gunn “leave of absence” could be a silver lining considering James Gunn had interest in characters previously owned by Fox in the past. What are your thoughts that there could be some rewrites for the GotG Vol 3 script to include said characters?10:03 Tom DeMicheleHey Sean and Patrons! I've been re-listening to all the Empire Spoiler Podcasts with MCU directors and creators. In the Civil War episode, the Russo's said they explored many options for the turning point of the airport fight before deciding on Giant-Man. What do you think were their previous options for swinging the fight in Team Cap's favor?12:12 Nick DiTotaHey Sean, I've been a part of the Patreon for about 3 months now and I just want to say that I think it's awesome! I love being able to listen every day while I'm at work. Over the past couple years I've gotten big into reading comics. I've never read any comics about the Eternals and with Marvel making an Eternals movie I'd like to read some to get to know the characters a little more. Do you have any recommendations as to a particular series to read? I figured to get to know them best go right to the source with Kirby's original series but I wanted your opinion. Keep up the awesome work and thanks for everything you do!14:00 Jeremy WatsonAt the end of Iron Man, when Fury is telling Stark that he's become part of a bigger world, we now know that he was referring to Captain Marvel. At that time (2008), do you think that Kevin Feige was referring to her or just the Marvel Universe in general? Thanks15:41 Derek BeebeHey Sean, I know you've talked about them doing Hickman's Secret War as an Avengers movie, but what I really want to see is what leads up to that story, Time Runs Out. Our heroes struggling in vain against an impossible, universe ending threat, driven to increasingly immoral desperation. I think this would make a great trilogy of Avengers movies, but how dark do you think our heroes could get in a major blockbuster? And if they did Secret War, how much time do you think they'll spend with Battleworld? Personally I thought that was the least interesting aspect of the series by far. And of course, this entire story requires Doom to be in the MCU.19:37 Derek BeebeDo you regret we didn't get a "Secret Avengers" movie between Civil War and Infinity War, showing what life was like for Cap's team living in exile in Wakanda? I think that would have been a great story. And if we did have that movie, do you think they should have avoided putting Tony and Steve together?22:10 Derek BeebeDo you think we need a Captain Marvel 2 taking place before Miss Marvel in order to properly establish Carol as a modern day hero for Kamala Kahn to look up to?23:50 Derek BeebeWhat do you think the line up for Avengers 5 will be? I'm assuming that none of the original team will be around, though I hope that's not true. Captain Marvel will be team leader of course. I'm thinking Black Panther, Ant-Man, Wasp, Doctor Strange... maybe Shang Chi and Sersi? And do you think a line up like that would be as popular as the original?29:00 Chris FHey Sean! Happy merger day! Was really great to break the news on the discord about the trailer release. I actually had a moment where I was like I wonder if this is what Sean feels like when he's breaking marvel news for us!Also thanks for sharing your idea of a “meditation period” before marvel films. I finally had a chance to try it with captain marvel and it worked great. So my question for the week is since time travel seems to be a factor in endgame is their any particular scene from any past films you would like to see them go back to and change a bit?I for one would love to see the scene of Thor and Loki on the rocks in Germany where Thor knows Loki is dead in the future and it's a bit more emotional. Thanks again for creating this great community!30:50 AlexHappy Closing day Sean! May I ask do you forsee the MCU X-Men and Fantastic Four films having the 20th Centuary Fox logo are does that become null and void once Marvel is making the movies and not Fox?32:10 AlexDo you think anything will in the world of Marvel superheroes world will be as historic as the X-Men and Fantastic Four coming back home back to Marvel Studios or is it as good as it gets? I have a hard time imagining even Marvel eventually gaining the full rights to Spider-Man will be as huge as this considering Marvel already has used Spidey in the MCU before now.33:54 AlexYou've lamented before on the quality of Entertainment journalism in regards to reporting things that are Marvel related but do you worry it can be greatly exacerbated after the deal closes? I see a future of a lot of unsubstantiated rumors about Mutants and Fantastic Four emerging more than ever before.35:03 Michael WeaselboyHey Sean its amazing to realize that now the MCU can be fully complete. I was wondering do you think we will have Masters of Evil sometime in the MCU as the next Avengers villains?? Do you think Doctor Doom could be the leader?? What other members would you add??37:18 AlexDo you think Marvel gets the rights to Fantastic Four might soften your stance on Fan4stic once you re-watch the movie again at some point(assuming you ever do?)39:14 AlexSean, have you seen Bumblebee yet? What do you think about it? And if you have seen it and liked it then do you now agree that Travis Knight would be a suitable choice to helm FF? I know you have Dee Rees as your top choice to direct Fantastic Four but I think Knight would a fantastic job( dumb pun intended) with the First Family. 39:54 Brett HeierHey Sean, did you like the all female ghostbusters movie? I loved it and I am very sad there won't be a sequel. Also, did you like Captain Phasma as a character? Do you think we will see her again in the Star Wars Universe? Sorry these questions weren't very centered around the MCU.41:13 Brett HeierHow many more years do you think Scarlet Witch will be in the MCU?41:58 AlexSean, do you think the Deadpool moves become retroactively canon in the MCU when Wade Wilson enters the MCU or do you think its unlikely? Would you rather keep Deadpool in his own universe separate form the MCU or are you of the mindset that he can be integrated into the MCU with little problems.44:54 AlexDo you have any strong picks for Doctor Doom?45:37 Jeremy WatsonSean, in the spirit of March Madness, who would your top 4 seeds be out of the major MCU players? Thanks!47:59 Jessica LoutfiHey Sean. Given that the Russo brothers are famous for adding things into their trailers that aren't in the movies...what do you think they added to the new trailer that may not be in Avengers Endgame? Thanks!49:30 Woo S! KimI happen to think Inhumans and Daredevil are the most underrated creations of Stan Lee's iconic career, do you concur, if you don't what do you think is his most underrated creation or creations, Sean?51:14 Woo S! KimIronically enough Sean, there is going to be a lot of What If Questions involving the “What If” Disney Plus animated series so please forgive the puns. Now let's say for argument sake Disney wanted to do a “What If” episode or episodes that involve Tom Holland's Spider-Man can Marvel Studios/Disney do this or is Tom Holland's Spider-Man technically with Sony Pictures? Related to Spider-Man do you feel that this “What If” Animated Series is Marvel Studios way of metaphorically dipping their toe into the pool of animation if they get the rights back to Spider-Man in the next two years or perhaps Marvel Studios wanting to release other Marvel characters in animated films released in cinemas that have nothing to so with Spider-Man, could this be the case why or why not?54:29 Woo S! KimIf you ever had the chance to interview Stan Lee did you have any questions you always wanted to ask him, me personally I would just spent the time thanking him for creating Daredevil.55:36 Matt MillerDo you think with the merger closing today thay Marvel studios will rearrange some of their plans and get the FF and X-men movies out before ones currently being planned/ones that are rumored?59:26 David RosenWith all the new properties coming over, and all the likely reboots that are going to happen, how do you foresee Marvel Studios adhering to their “no more origin stories” rule? While we will need some explanation, what do you think the amount of origin we'll get for the characters coming over from Fox? With the Fantastic Four and their fairly well-known origin specifically in mind, do you think it's possible to do something similar like they did with Spiderman, or will they need the classic origin story treatment to get them started? As the MCU continues to grow beyond End Game, and with all the new characters that will be introduced, what is the correct balance the MCU needs to strike in telling new characters' origins so that audiences don't start to get bored and look past the first films for all the upcoming characters?1:01:54 David RosenI know I thought this after the End Game super bowl spot, and I honestly cant remember if I, or some else asking about it then, but considering that the most recent trailer included flashbacks in black and white with the red highlights again, do you think there is more going on here than it just being a stylistic choice?1:03:27 David RosenOne of the reasons that I felt Captain Marvel was so different and refreshing from the rest of the MCU was the lack of an obvious love interest. Why is it that having a love interest has become such a staple of storytelling in the superhero genre? Was it a product of the times that these stories were being written in that the male hero had to have a woman to save and/or fall in love with? Do you think moving forward, Marvel should leave the obligatory, one-off love story behind in favor of other ways of developing characters or will it always be one of those story aspects that we'll just need to deal with sometimes because love is just a part of life?1:08:27 David RosenIn the discussion about whether Captain Marvel is too powerful in the MCU, regardless of whether or not we actually get to see this tested in a movie, if you consider that Wanda is able to use her energy to destroy the Mind Stone, do you think Captain Marvel could be defeated by a Hydra weapon, as they both draw their power from the Tesseract?1:10:38 Paul ShearmanHey Sean and everyone, hope you're all having a good week so far. Sean, pop quiz time! A quick question following your Captain Marvel conversations about the use of Nirvana when Carol went up against the Supreme intelligence (although I agree totally with you that it gets a pass because it's a terrific song!). Because I'm a weird completist about these things (!) I'm interested to know what alternative song you'd use, that fits with the ‘pre-1989 Carol leaving Earth' chronology and therefore not necessarily being aware of that song!In the grand scheme of things, this of course didn't ruin my enjoyment of the movie in any way, but I love to dot the i's and cross the t's..!Thanks as always, and enjoy the rest of your week.1:13:47 Jeremy WatsonSean, with the Fox/Disney acquisition complete, do you foresee any changes to some of Fox's tv content, such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, etc?1:17:11 Robert ReinekeHi Sean. There's some speculation that the latest Endgame trailer includes fake scenes and images that were deliberately altered from what will appear in the actual movie, ala Hulk in Wakanda. Now, I realize that no trailer is the actual movie, with trailers often featuring temp music, scenes and line readings that may end up on the editing floor, incomplete special effects, etc. Not to mention the fact that editing a 2 to 3 hour movie into a 2 minute spot is a deliberate act of distortion, all sizzle, all the time, albeit usually not on the level of trying to make The Shining look like a feel good family film or Christopher Robin look like a horror film. But, I feel that most trailers aren't trying to deliberately lie to me. Is a line being crossed here? I know Jean Luc Godard said that "Cinema is truth at 24 frames per second." and Brian DePalma retorted "Cinema is lies at 24 frames per second." and I'm much more in the DePalma camp, but I feel that I never like to be deliberately lied to. Yeah, I expect it won't ruin my enjoyment of the film any, but we have to hold the creators we like to the same standards we hold those we don't like. Did showing the Hulk in Wakanda ad one cent to the box office? I don't think so. Plus, I also feel that it's unnecessary in a film where you have 3 hours of footage and over 20 films to draw footage from, and a few seconds can't be that important. And I feel that this is a trend that ought to be nipped in the bud before it gets out of control, like digitally inserting Avengers into trailers for Eternals. Do you devalue the trailer by making them wholly unreliable? What do you think of the ethics of lying in trailers beyond "caveat emptor"?1:23:49 Angel L AshbyHey there Sean! Do you think that Disney/MCU set the timeline for the Disney/Fox deal so that it would be finalized before Endgame came out and do you believe that there will be a teaser for FF or Xmen in Endgame? Or do you think that Endgame will.. end.. in such a way that it sets up for X-men to be a new introduction in to the universe? (I hope that made sense.) Sean answers your Marvel questions!3:05 Jim ScroggsDo you know if AMC A List reservations are counted toward pre-sale ticket numbers?3:56 Jim ScroggsWith Rhodes in the Air Force and considering his age, is it possible that he and Carol might have crossed paths?4:48 Jim ScroggsDo you see Marvel adding a character with Marines and/or Naval background to complete the service academy representation5:26 Paul ShearmanHey Sean and patrons, happy Captain Marvel weekend!! I've been MIA recently from these Q&A's, but I've been listening in and enjoying the conversations (and Sean's answers of course!) here and on the Discord. Whilst I've not been joining in much lately, this great community has kept me going over some difficult recent weeks, so a big thank you to you all!So, Captain Marvel huh...? Wow, I just love this film so much - I've seen it twice in 24 hours thanks to some careful scheduling and it's just perfect. Brie Larson is just exceptional as Carol Danvers, I feel she embodies the character from the comics so well, whilst bringing her own qualities to the role. From the Stan Lee tribute at the start (very emotional and wonderfully inventive) this movie never missed a beat throughout.Whilst I know it's still very early to be making lots of judgements on various aspects of the movie, I'm keen to know if there was any stand out scene for you Sean, that you either never saw coming or was just a particular highlight? Thanks as always for your time, and hope everyone gets to go higher further faster with this awesome movie!13:27 brentacPrimeCaptain Marvel spoiler question. What was the biggest surprise for you?15:18 Robert KlauserWhat's up Sean? Do you think that there's a setup for Carol similar to Scarlett Witch? We see that Mar Vel was in possession of the tesseract and I believe she used that to make her FTL ship and that's where Carol got her powers from when she shot that energy core. So the setup would be that Carol Danvers can somehow destroy the space stone because her powers might have the same signature as the space stone. Do you think that this is theory is something they could allude to in Endgame or is this more of a “been there don't that” with Wanda and the Mind Stone?18:31 Matt OswaldWe know that SHIELD was in possession of the Tesseract after Howard Stark recovered it, and Loki stole it from a Project Pegasus facility in the Avengers. It is obvious that Fury did not know the real Identity of Lawson even though he at least knew of the existence of Pegasus. Do you think any of the top brass at SHIELD knew her real identity?19:46 Matt OswaldOne of the things that has bothered me a little about Captain Marvel is the apparent lack of security around the Tesseract at Project Pegasus. We know at the start of the Avengers that there are SHIELD agents like Hawkeye assigned to guard the Tesseract. Apparently during the 90's security was a little more lax around the project since Lawson was able to take the tesseract out of the facility, and to her Kree space ship/lab. It seems like somone should have noticed that the Tesseract was missing from the facility. One might be able to reason that after the crash, it was believed that the Tesseract was destroyed in the crash. But we don't see any evidence in the film that before the crash anyone even noticed it was gone. Am I reading too much into this?22:51 Mookie JohnsonDo you feel the way that Captain Marvel ended reduces the chances the secret invasion is a pursued storyline?25:13 Woo S! KimWho between these two characters Agent Peggy Carter and Agent Phil Coulson are you more surprised by their popularity and how they are really embedded in the MCU and why? My vote is for Phil Coulson do you have any other characters like Coulson or Peggy Carter that when they originally appeared in the MCU you are surprised how narratively and how long they have managed to stay integral parts of the MCU and or fan favourites? 28:42 Woo S! KimI am not stating this character is needed in the X-Men/Avengers going forward Sean, but what do you think the chances because the heroes will be messing with time in “Avengers: End Game” of Aaron Taylor Johnson's QuickSilver to return after the events of “Avengers: End Game?” Should he brought back or would you rather keep that character dead?29:56 Woo S! KimSean, let's say for argument sake that “Spider-Man: Far From Home” moved to February 2020 “Avengers: End Game” moved to Christmas 2019 and Star Wars: Episode IX took the late April 2019 spot would Box Office numbers change at all, if this were done why or why not?31:05 Mookie JohnsonDo you think Captain Marvel 2 has room for Ms Marvel and Photon to join in?32:48 Mookie JohnsonI love how Captain Marvel's movie was also is some way a Nick Fury/Modern Day Shield/Avengers initiative story also. Could you share some of your thoughts on that idea?35:53 AlexDo you think the Fox deal that will grant Marvel access to so many more characters could lessen Marvel's willingness to cooperate with Sony past Far From Home especially if Sony starts mandating that they start integrating SMCU characters like Venom and Morbius? 37:25 David RosenHey Sean, I know you were really looking forward to seeing how they treated the Kree Supreme Intelligence. Even though we didn't get the giant floating head, are you satisfied with what we did get?39:50 Tom DeMicheleSince all of SHIELD's information was leaked in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, does the world know about Captain Marvel? Fury may not have divulged what happened in the film's final act, but there were plenty of other witnesses early on.By the way, this is an exciting time for the Discord, and I encourage all Patrons to join the fun conversation over there with us!43:01 Robert KlauserNot a serious question or anything like that. But, can't we let Thor and the Asgardians off of the hook for the Phase 2 weapons? It seems Fury knew we were “hopelessly and hilariously outgunned” since 1995.44:35 Xavier ArquerosI liked the movie, not as much as I hoped (which was a lot), but it's good. I have a lot of questions, but the only one that concerns me is when will the sequel take place, because it's seems that Yon-Rogg and Ronan have an agenda against Carol but I'm not the biggest fan on an other MCU movie set in the past, I hope Captain Marvel 2 is set post-Endgame. What do you think Sean? I would watch it nevertheless, but you know, Let's move forward. Cheers!48:40 AlexSean, I know that you had Bill Hader as one of your top castings for Reed Richards but I unfortunately I just don't see it. He looks the part sure, but nothing I've seen of Bill Hader so far has left me with the impression he'd make a good Reed. He just strikes me as too comedic an actor to play a serious role like Reed Richards who isn't normally intentionally funny so may I ask what movies or shows that you've seen Mr. Hader in that makes you think he'd be a fit for the role?49:42 Hector Giovanni NavarreteHey Sean! I enjoyed CM! Thought it was great!I have a couple of questions about Goose the cat. I know they probably aren't big deals in the grand scheme of things in the MCU but they are questions I came up with nonetheless lol.So we first see Goose at the Pegasus facility and it seems like she/he knows Carol cause it walks up to her first as if recognizing Carol. So do you think it used to be Carol's pet and if so how did Carol come to have an alien as a pet? Or do you believe it was Mar-Vell's pet since she was Kree so most likely Mar-Vell would've potentially brought an alien pet from space ?So at the end of CM, Fury seems to keep Goose, so where has Goose been all this time in the present day MCU? Still with Fury?52:06 Alex WardHey Sean! First of all, thank you for doing these q and A's. They've answered so many lingering questions about the MCU for me and deepened my interest in Marvel to an insane degree. That being said, you might remember my question a while ago about what the Avengers are "avenging." You had an awesome answer, but thanks to that little discussion, the final scene in Captain Marvel impacted me on a much deeper level; it gave me goosebumps just as I'm sure it did a lot of fans. My question is, if Fury came up with the Avengers Initiative in 1995, did it really take him over ten years to find his first Avenger? Do you think there were any hiccups before Iron Man, perhaps that we'll see filled in in the Black Widow movie or something? Thanks Sean!55:09 Alex WardHow did you feel about the way the Skrulls were handled? I know the Skrulls and the Kree can be good and bad in the comics, but I love this new dynamic.55:46 Alex WardOne non Captain Marvel question--how would you age the new generation of the MCU? For example, should the FF skew younger like the Ultimate comics so they can stick around longer, or should they be older? Also, how old is too old for Reed? He's gotta hang on to those greying temples; it'd be blasphemy if he'd ever go full silver fox like how Mark Ruffalo seems to be heading.58:07 Alex WardI know folks have been throwing around the idea of the FF being a period piece, but what do you think about the idea of the FF being from the modern era, but accidentally getting stuck in the 60s and getting famous there (maybe by introducing "advanced" modern technology), before traveling back to modern day?59:40 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean how was your week?? Anyways I saw Captain Marvel of course, opening night I loved it. You were right that really is the best crowd to watch an MCU film, I saw it in the big IMAX theater in Tempe, Arizona and that crowd was so ecstatic, I can't wait to watch Endgame there next month, the crowd went crazy during the Marvel Studios logo at the beginning and a loud clap when it said "Thank you Stan". Anyways my question is when do you think a sequel will be set?? Could it be with the 23 years she was off earth? or should it be set after in the post endgame MCU?? Who do you think could be the villain? Thoughts??1:02:46 Mookie JohnsonDo you have a Captain Marvel costume preference between the red/blue towards the end of the movie and the post-credit outfit? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Sean answers your Marvel questions!0:21 Derek BeebeI was wondering whether you think the box office grosses of Ralph Breaks the Internet (456m), Bumblebee (414m), and Spider-Verse (325m) were successful enough?4:53 Derek BeebeKnowing what you know so far, do you think Endgame is going to be a better movie than Infinity War? I realize we know next to nothing but I just expect this one to feel "smaller" since it will probably only feature the original seven for most of its run time. Also, will Thanos even have his army with him this time around, now that he's retired? 8:39 Derek BeebeYour analysis of the performance of Last Jedi and Solo on the Fandalorians podcast was very interesting. What box office do you expect for Ep 9?13:10 Derek BeebeVenom did 856 million. Dot dot dot. Dot dot dot. Why?15:12 Derek BeebeI'm really looking forward to the three 2019 Marvel movies, but the line up after that just does not sound as interesting to me. I'll love any Marvel movie but I'm afraid the luster will be gone starting with 2020. What do you think about the potential financial success or failure of this new era?19:43 Derek BeebeWhatever happened to the all female Marvel movie there was a brief talk of? I think that would be a great idea. You can do a magical premise that sidelines all the men, maybe have Enchantress as the main villain? Also, who would you fan-cast as Enchantress?21:59 Spencer ToycenHey there, Sean! Just wanted to say thanks for the podcast and starting a Discord! Hopping on there has become a highlight of my day, so thanks for that. Anyway, with the rumors of Young Avengers in early development, do you see that lineup looking more like The Champions? Sam Alexander Nova, Kamala Kahn and Amadeus Cho were stand outs for me and I think that would make for a great entry in the MCU. Your thoughts, Sean?23:56 Alex WardAssuming Cap dies or retires in Endgame (which, at this point, is still no more than mere speculation), do you think we'll ever see a "Who will wield the shield?"-type storyline? I can't help but think that'll be the concept of the Falcon/Bucky series, since they've both been Captain America at some point. Maybe Steve Rogers is Top Cop like he was in the 2010 Heroic Age, teaming up with Nick Fury to give Falcon and Bucky missions to test their mettle. Or something like that. Either way, I have a feeling they're still going to be mining from the Ed Brubaker stuff. Also, were you a fan of the Bucky-Cap suit? And do you think we'll ever see it in the MCU?26:13 Alex WardIs there any chance Mysterio's illusion-creating powers are actually mystical, or do you think the whole thing is a sham? I think it'd be cool to have a magic-based villain for Spidey; in the comics there's a huge variety in the types of villains he fights, and in my opinion tech-based stuff--especially stolen Stark tech--is on the verge of getting stale in the MCU.28:49 Tom DeMicheleSean, “The Good Place” is a frequent topic here and on the Discord, with you even suggesting an ideal scenario in which series creator Mike Schur directs Marvel Studios' “Fantastic Four.” Just for fun, if you had to cast the actors from “The Good Place” as Marvel characters new to the MCU, who would you cast?31:13 Alex WardJust one more, if Marvel Studios' FF is a huge hit, what are some possible spin offs they could try? A Thing movie, or maybe just Illuminati with Reed as sort of the protagonist? I know solo FF series in the past haven't lasted long, but the MCU seems to have a lot of success with characters whose solo series don't tend to last very long, like Ant-Man or Doctor Strange.33:11 Woo S! KimAfter watching “Avengers: Infinity War” again recently, I have a couple questions for you, Sean. Markus and Mcfeely and The Russo Brothers say on the Blu-ray commentary after Thanos activates The Decimation he is transported to Soul World, why would The Infinity Stones take his mind there, whether or not that is actually the spirit of his daughter why would he be transported there, do you believe? Also, in my thinking after The Decimation Thanos cannot repair the Gauntlet with the Time Stone, or any of the other stones, my feeling is if Thanos was able to heal the wound on his chest, he would have repaired the Gauntlet, I understand as do you, why he would not heal the wound on his arm, that is his badge of honour, but to me, if he could have repaired the Infinity Gauntlet, he would have I would like to point out in “Avengers: End Game” if I am proven wrong it's not a big deal, what is your point of view Sean? 38:12 Woo S! KimSomething I found interesting Ariela Barer who portrays Gert Yorkes on Marvel TV's “Runaways” said an interview and I'm paraphrasing but generally she was shocked to be considered for anything Marvel live action related because she thought you'd have to win a Golden Globe or an Emmy before getting a Marvel project. I have heard from people older than me that in the 1970's the franchise to be considered and a lot of performers wanted to be in was a James Bond film, thanks to Robert Downey Jr and Samuel L. Jackson has Marvel Studios and as a result some of Marvel Television become that new franchise brass ring of “you know you are doing something right, when Marvel is interested in you.” What are your thoughts, Sean?40:19 Brian WhiteHi Sean. You recently discussed your hopes for a Vision and Scarlet Witch Disney Plus show to be influenced by Tom King's recent limited series. First of all I want to explain I really enjoyed it too and love that Viv Vision is a member of the Champions. However, I have an enduring dislike of how Vision has been portrayed for years. Vision is a synthezoid, a synthetic human. He's not supposed to be a robot or an AI. His body and mind are synthetic but they are supposed to mimic being human. Waaaay back when John Byrne took over the first West Coast Avengers series, Vision was disassembled, I forget why. But he had been more and more demonstrating his growth as a person. He was rebuilt but since the traumatic event he's never been the same. I submit that he's brain damaged still. His decision to delete his emotions because he did not have the memory capacity and was misperceiving the world makes no sense. His brain is not digital storage, it's a synthetic human brain. As writers change, consistency is lost. I wish a writer had picked up on this rather than continue to treat Vision and Viv like robots. I'd like your thoughts and once I figure our the Discord maybe we can discuss it there. Thanks!44:49 Robert ReinekeHi Sean. I'm sure that you'll have plenty to say about Black Panther garnering a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards. Let me add for those pooh poohing it as just another superhero film, how many Afro-futurism blockbusters can you name? Keeping to the Academy Awards, any particular pleasant surprises not involving Black Panther and Into the Spider-Verse? Any other disappointments? Anything that makes you curious?50:14 Woo S! KimSean, please indulge me, but you have "The Avengers" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron" in 4k, correct? I am thinking of getting both in 4k even though I already have both films in 1080p Blu-ray you said to me a couple of months back that the physical discs of both films, in 4k do not have Dolby Vision or Dolby ATMOS and the physical versions don't have any new special features. Is all that I have stated correct and if this is accurate should I just purchase the digital copies on VUDU, at this point the best versions of 4k films are on digital and or on VUDU. I just have the physical copies in case my internet goes down, thanks Sean.52:18 AlexBesides Black Panther and Infinity War what MCU movies do you think deserved the best picture nomination? For me it's Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 — which I know is an unconventional & unpopular choice since most people would probably point to Winter Solider but Guardians was such a discovery and my favorite Marvel film until Vol. 2 came along and surpassed it in my book. Vol.2 is an underappreciated gem of the MCU and deeper than most people give it credit for. I absolutely adored it and thought it was one of the best movies of 2017. I bawled like a baby at many moments especially at Yondu's death. It's a masterpiece in my opinion. I can acknowledge that Winter Solider objectively is a way better movie but it didn't have the heart of the Vol. 2 and that's totally fine since their very different movies by design but for myself I connected more with Guardians Vol. 2.59:18 AlexIs Dark Phoenix and New Mutants dead on arrival? It really feels like nobody is excited about it. I was talking with a couple of of buddies of mine about which was their most anticipated superhero movies and they named almost every comic book film released this year besides the two aforementioned ones. When I asked why they didn't included Dark Phoenix they said the trailers didn't grab them. Granted this is anecdotal but this coupled with various negative reports I've seen about the movies poor test screenings leads me to believe that no matter what Fox does, even if they put out one really awesome trailer it will do little to change the fact that most people are now waiting for the MCU X-Men so this franchise is essentially living off borrowed time. I can't help but feel a little sad that this franchise that kicked off the modern wave of the superhero genre post-Batman and Robin in the early 2000's last installment is one of the least superhero anticipated movies in recent memory. Most seem apathetic and just don't care. 1:06:16 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean I was just wondering who would you cast as Norman Osborn in the MCU?? And how exactly do you think they will feature him in the franchise?? Should he mainly be in the Spider man films?? Or could he be in the team up films?? I know Marvel doesn't own him technically but I hope that changes soon. I'm sure he can be the Lex Luthor of the MCU. Would you make him the main villain for the third film?? Thoughts??1:10:07 BenHey Sean! I was looking at Captain Marvel's IMDB and saw that Carol's brother is named Steve. Do you think her dad could be a Cap fan and named his son after Steve Rogers? This could also explain Carol's desire to join the military, maybe to impress her dad, and the somewhat similar design to her costume. And this could give the two Caps an instant connection in Endgame.1:11:44 BenSpeaking of Captain Marvel, do you think Carol will show up in the next Endgame trailer?1:14:05 Hector Giovanni NavarreteDo you think with BP being nominated for a Best Picture Oscar and possibly winning, we have to wait on that, is it more likely for AE to get a Best Picture nomination? I know you mentioned that each Superhero/comic book movie has build off each other to get us to this first time historic achievement. Also you mentioned how you would have loved to have seen IW get an Adapted Screenplay and Best Picture nomination as a 10 year story arc. Do you think the Academy is potentially waiting to see the "culmination" of the whole arc in AE? I mean I know maybe "waiting" is the wrong word. But you know what I mean?1:18:55 MayaHi Sean! I am a new patron, but I've been a long time listener of the podcast. You may have discussed this in past Q&As but what are your theories behind how Vision will play a role in AE? I read a theory that Vision is essentially living in the Mind Stone and influencing Thanos' every move. I also read a theory that Shuri was able to download his mind before her encounter with Corvis Glave and will probably bring back a new Vision (assuming she went underground and isn't dead from the snap). Do any of these sound reasonable or do you think there is another way? I am also pretty certain that Shuri is not dead. How do you think she will play a role in AE? I think it would DOPE to see her and Spiderman team up or her and Tony putting their minds together to figure out how to leverage the quantum realm. Sean answers your Marvel questions!0:31 bryan smithHey Sean hope your having a good start to the new year . My question is , do you think it's possible ultron built a fail safe in vision like in the comics ? It would be could if somewhere down the line vision is taking over by ultron when the avengers lest expect it.2:53 Hector Giovanni NavarreteHey Sean! The Discord is awesome btw, I'm enjoying it.I asked a while ago what your favorite moment for each Avenger member was; what is some of your favorite villain moments in the MCU? Top 5 maybe?14:44 Chris FHey Sean. Thanks for setting up the discord. Absolutely loving it on there. 2 questions today: 1) With theatres now offering passes to view unlimited movies for a monthly fee how does that effect the box office totals? For example I have an Alamo Drafthouse season pass that I pay $20 a month for and I could technically see captain marvel every day if i wanted to and still only pay my $20.20:25 Chris FQuestion two: I know you spend allot of time creating podcasts and content, but what podcasts if any do you listen to for enjoyment in your free time? And what to you makes a great podcast? Thanks again for everything and have a great week!26:22 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean hope your week is going good, I really enjoy listening to these podcasts you do it makes my workday go by faster. Anyways my question is who do you think will be the villain for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?? I know Adam Warlock was going to play some kind of role but he is more of a hero, so who do you think it will be?? Assuming of course the movie is made.28:16 Paul ShearmanHey Sean and patrons, hope you're all well. I've been reading and enjoying all the discord chats going on, I haven't posted yet but I'm enjoying the conversations. So, the Captain Marvel Special Look was excellent, and I'm so excited for this movie. Once again, Marvel Studios are doing a great job of keeping the focus on this movie and away from Endgame, which is absolutely as it should be.I've noticed a slight gear change in the tone of the teasers as they've dropped in turn, and we've started seeing the fun and charming side of Carol Danvers starting to emerge.Do you think this was the intention from Marvel Studios - to build up the trailers this way - and that is hasn't just been as a reaction to criticisms about the lack of humour and emotion from Brie Larson in the initial teaser. I'm sure Marvel Studios wouldn't feel the need to ‘pander' to criticism , and would be resolute in their beliefs for the best way to promote what I think will be a fantastic movie, but I'm keen to hear what you think Sean. Thanks for your time as always, enjoy the rest of your week and catch you all at discord!33:58 Michael bradleyHello Sean, hope your week is going well. Just caught the new Captain Marvel trailer and thought is was great. Do you think the people who say it doesn't show anything would criticize it if it showed too much?34:57 AlexWhich Fox Marvel character do you think will most likely make an appearance first in the MCU? And if you had your druthers which Fox Marvel character would you have make an appearance first? For me, I think the Fox character that will most likely appear in the MCU first will be Norrin Radd (a.k.a The Silver Surfer) in a post-credit scene for the Eternals and the Fox character I most want to appear in the MCU first is either Doctor Doom or Wolverine.37:25 AlexWhich Fox-Marvel character are you least excited about Marvel getting the rights back to? For me its the Merc-With-the-Mouth himself. Not a big fan. Unlike serious characters like Fantastic Four & the X-Men I really don't see a mostly comedic character like Wade Wilson adding much to Feige's universe besides a potential F-bomb here and there. I gotta be honest Sean, I'd rather Marvel not touch Deadpool at all. What's your thoughts?39:51 Woo S! KimI have been attempting to keep this quiet just because I did not have the time nor did I want the internet to jump all over me with this question, I would be lying to say I was not disappointed that “Black Panther” not did win a Best Picture Golden Globe on January the 6th, but I have to say and this is not a knock on the cast and or the crew of “Bohemian Rhapsody” but I would not feel as disappointed if “A Star is Born” won. My point is, Sean do you agree that “Bohemian Rhapsody” was not the Best Picture Drama of The Year, why or why not?44:00 Woo S! KimI thought as did you, on the January 7th “Daily Bugle,” it was a classy response what Kevin Feige told MTV News, about James Gunn and his potential future with the DCEU, I have a new level of respect for Feige because I have not spoken about this in awhile, no matter where one stands on the termination of James Gunn in 2018, that whole situation was so moronic and so unnecessary on a lot of different levels and I do a pretty good job of reading people as do you, Sean, I believe Feige truly wishes James Gunn the best and wishes circumstances could be different. I also find it ironic that Feige's words almost echoed yours when it came to all of the Marvel characters that Marvel Studios gets to play with in their metaphorical sandbox, who knows maybe they have a couple real ones in the offices, but from what I can tell from Feige's face is that the reason he is sticking around is that I think he realizes he has a dream job and I like you, wouldn't blame him, if I wanted to go revive the Stark Trek film franchise, if he wanted too or anything else. However, from how passionate his tone of voice was when he talked about being in and around Marvel Studios for two decades and I just get the sense that Feige feels his work with Marvel Studios is not done until he finally does get majority producing control over the X-Men characters and Marvel's First Family and their characters, also dare I say bringing Spidery 110% home to Marvel, am I reading too much into this Sean or do you concur with me?48:41 Tom DeMicheleHey Sean, I noticed you didn't comment on the supposed “retcon” that the Mind Stone amplified Loki's hatred. I personally don't think this information is a big deal, as it's implied that the Scepter has a similar effect on the Avengers during their argument in the Hellicarrier lab. I'm glad you didn't deem this worthy of an article, but just for the hell of it, what do you make of this info and the internet's reaction to it?54:12 Brett HeierHi Sean! In one of the new marvel encyclopedia books, they say that Loki's scepter didn't give Wanda and Pietro their powers, but it awakened something inside them. Do you think this is a way to retcon Wanda and Pietro's backstory to make them mutants? Also, is Wanda a mutant in the comics? Or is she just a witch? Finally, do you think that Quicksilver will ever come back? As always, thanks for having two great podcasts, marvel and Star Wars.56:55 Seth GoslinHi Sean! I was watching the new Captain Marvel footage and it got me thinking. It seems like we've spent time and speculation on why wouldn't Nick Fury have reached out to Captain Marvel before in the face of other threats to earth. This line of thinking says that Carol doesn't know what's happening on earth. But what if Nick has been reaching out to her, consulting with her and keeping her updated? He had very little time to respond to the events of infinity war but it seems like he would have time in at least some of the previous situations. Nick says that Carol is just the beginning. Maybe they've been mutually putting trust in the emerging heroes. Nick doesn't seem like the type to cry wolf anyway. What do you think about the idea that Carol has been in touch with the happenings on Earth?59:15 Alex WardHi Sean! I had to rescind some of my originally planned questions because I think I may have spoiled myself to the point that I may know too much now. The spoilers I stumbled across online could easily be fake, but I don't wanna risk it. However, these questions should be pretty safe and have nothing to do with whatever probably-fake spoilers I read:1) Do you think Carol will actually use the name "Captain Marvel" in the movie? I know movies can be a bit tepid around superhero names sometimes, especially more general ones like "Captain Marvel."1:01:06 Alex Ward2) (I know I've brought this up before, but it was within the context of a comment rather than a direct question; feel free to skip this one if you want/need to!) I know fans like us are used to it, but do you think Marvel Studios will acknowledge the fact, either in the film or during press, that "Marvel" is both part of the title of the movie, and the name of the company itself? It must be at least somewhat intriguing to a general audience, almost as if Warner Bros put out a movie called "The Warner Brothers."1:02:28 Alex Ward3) Is there any chance Mar-Vell isn't in this movie at all?1:03:43 Hector Giovanni NavarreteFavorite Spider-Man moment (not necessarily a SM the character moment) in each SM film?
