We're wrapping up this Overcoming Fear series! 6. Fear can be overcome It takes power It takes love It takes a sound mind
Charles Spurgeon once told the story of a ship captain whose wife panicked during a violent storm. When the captain pointed a sword toward her chest, she laughed—because she trusted the hand that held it. His reply revealed the heart of faith: “Neither am I afraid of a storm in the hand of my heavenly Father.” In this episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef points believers to the security found in God's sovereign care. Fear is real—even the apostle Paul admitted to “fears within” while facing conflict, hardship, and rejection. Yet Paul also knew the comfort of God, who strengthens the downcast and often refreshes His people through His Word, His presence, and the encouragement of faithful friends. When fear rises, the answer is not denial or panic—it is trust. God has not given His children a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. His love brings hope to the heart, His presence steadies the soul, and His salvation becomes the rock beneath our feet. No matter how fierce the storm, the believer can rest in this Truth: the storm is never outside the hand of the Father. Prayer: Lord Jesus, I need Your words of encouragement today. The world is pressing in on me, but I know You are in total control. I thank You that Your perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Help me to comfort others with the comfort I receive from You in this season. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down” (Psalm 145:14). Most people don't realise marriage is the most legally significant thing you'll do and enter it with zero plan, yet they plan everything in fitness. Passion and chemistry don't equal partnership compatibility, and complacency kills relationships when partners stop trying after "locking someone in." Relationships need intentionality, maintenance, and honest feedback like any other area of life. The hardest part isn't falling in love, it's believing you're worthy of it. Episode Summary In this episode of Business Coaching Secrets, Karl Bryan and Road Dog get real about what separates truly elite business coaches from the rest. Karl unpacks the mindsets, systems, and beliefs that drive top coaches—and why persistence, identity, and serving before selling are the real secret weapons. The duo also dive into the controversies around billionaire entrepreneurs like Elon Musk, using them as powerful lessons in mindset, resilience, and value creation. If you want a step-by-step breakdown of what it actually takes to get more coaching clients, boost results, and build confidence (for yourself and your clients), this episode delivers the playbook. Key Topics Covered What Makes an Elite Business Coach Three Levels of Coaches: Hiders (avoidant), Wingers (improvising), and Installers (system-driven). Patterns of Success: Top coaches are "all in," keep it simple, focus on systems, and are resilient in the face of setbacks. Embracing Delayed Gratification: Like treasure hunter Mel Fisher, elite coaches believe in the long-term payoff and stick with it when others quit. Thinking in Percentages: Why tracking improvements as percentages—not raw numbers—is a pro's approach to growth and client results. The Mindset Ladder: From Identity to Lasting Results Winning the Battle in the Locker Room: Your mindset isn't just about positive thinking; it's about upgrading your core identity, beliefs, and values. Identity Drives Performance: What you believe about yourself shapes your daily behaviors and long-term outcomes. Action vs. Self-Sabotage: Without an identity shift, short-term wins won't stick open the door for self-sabotage. Lessons from Elon Musk: Mindset, Reinvestment, and Critics The All-In Mindset: Elon's willingness to risk it all, learn from failure, and reinvest in his vision is a playbook for business coaches. Serving Before Taking: Real wealth is created by solving big problems—focus on value and impact over comfort or luxury. Overcoming Fear, Doubt, and Limiting Stories Change How You Talk to Yourself: The stories you repeat about who you are become your reality. Three Powerful Beliefs: (a) It's possible, (b) I am the person for this, (c) It will be worth it. Don't Practice to Practice—Practice to Improve: 1% better every day creates exponential growth over time. Taking Real Action: "Three Conversations a Day" Empathy Isn't Enough: Are you actually reaching out to business owners in pain, or just feeling bad for them? Three Bone System: Always come prepared with three value bombs for every interaction. Serve from a Place of Love and Urgency: Operate from your deepest "why"—not just sales tactics. Notable Quotes "You just gotta go all in, right? Don't practice to practice. Practice to improve." —Karl Bryan "Optimists run the world. The end." —Karl Bryan "If your why doesn't make them cry, you're not done establishing it." —Karl Bryan "What you say to yourself about yourself when you're by yourself absolutely matters." —Karl Bryan "Empathy is great, but are you going to do anything about it?" —Karl Bryan Actionable Takeaways Pick Your Level: Get honest—are you hiding, winging it, or installing a real system with clients? Choose "installer." Track Progress as Percentages: Frame client wins as percentage improvements for real, motivating progress. Upgrade Your Identity: Audit the stories you tell yourself. Change "I struggle to get leads" to "I'm a person who always finds a way." Practice 1% Better Daily: Focus on continuous improvement rather than perfection. Serve Before You Sell: Make three real, solution-focused conversations daily your habit; lead with value, not desperation. Have Three Value Bombs Ready: Be prepared to drop actionable strategies with every prospect, no matter the direction of the conversation. Operate from Your "Why": Reconnect to the deeper reason you started coaching, and let that urgency propel action and outreach. Don't Let Setbacks Stop You: See obstacles as learning moments, not permanent failures. How do you respond to fear—do you withdraw, distract yourself, or try to regain control? In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reminds believers that the right response to fear is neither surrender nor avoidance, but overcoming fear through faith and obedience to God's Word. Scripture paints the picture of a life anchored in trust: the one who puts confidence in the Lord is like a tree planted by water—steady in heat, resilient in drought, and fruitful no matter the season (Jeremiah 17:7–8). Dr. Youssef exposes one of fear's most common roots: the loss of control. Whether it's finances, relationships, health, or the future, we often try to fix fear by tightening our grip—only to discover that control never produces peace. But Jesus offers a different kind of security: “My peace I give you… Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27). And God promises a sure foundation for those who rely on Him—one that silences panic when everything else shakes (Isaiah 28:16). This devotional will help you trade anxiety for assurance by surrendering your circumstances to the God who is truly in control. Prayer: God, help me to respond to fear with faith in You and obedience to Your Word. Help me to remember that I can rest in You because You are in control. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:8). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. In this episode of The Forgotten Podcast, Jami sits down with Candace Smouse, a TFI advocate from Spokane, Washington, who is a foster, adoptive, and birth mom to six kids. Fostering as a family for five years, Candace shares her journey of opening her home to children with special needs and navigating the unique joys and demands of raising her now-adopted son who has autism. She explores the common fears foster parents face when considering a special needs placement and offers insight on moving forward through the unknown with faith and expectation. Candace candidly details the realities of bringing her son home just before his fourth birthday as his fourth placement in a short span of time. She describes the initial challenges of caring for a child who was completely nonverbal, not potty trained, and struggling with behavior and severe dietary restrictions. Through her family's story, she highlights the exhausting early months, the complex dynamics and feelings of parental guilt that can surface with biological siblings, and the turning point of finding the right in-home therapeutic support. The conversation also breaks down the different levels of autism to help listeners better understand the wide spectrum of care children may require. Candace shares practical advice on how to become a "squeaky wheel" and fiercely advocate within the school system, utilizing resources like Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and special education accommodations. Ultimately, this episode provides deep encouragement for any caregiver feeling isolated or overwhelmed in the thick of special needs parenting. Candace points listeners toward a profound hope rooted in the Lord, reminding foster and adoptive families that they are never truly alone and that stepping into the hard places can expand a family's world with unexpected blessings, deeper empathy, and unconditional love. Understanding the three levels of autism, ranging from high-functioning traits to intense, around-the-clock physical care needs. Navigating the hidden challenges of special needs parenting, such as public outbursts, sibling jealousy, and the pressure of public judgment. Learning to advocate in the school system by utilizing therapeutic partners, tracking data, and calling IEP meetings. We focus on how grief can intensify anxiety and panic, and we discuss ways to stay supported during this time.We explain that grief is individual and does not follow a fixed timeline. We note that people may grieve differently depending on the relationship, the type of loss, and their own resilience. We also say that grief can apply to many kinds of losses, not only death. We then describe common grief reactions, including shock, numbness, anger, sadness, fear, and anxiety. We mention that physical symptoms can include insomnia, fatigue, and changes in appetite, and we encourage listeners to notice these responses without judging them.We offer practical ways to cope, including meditation, short stress breaks, music, aromatherapy, prayer, and other calming rituals. We also encourage maintaining social support, reaching out to others when needed, and paying attention to sleep, exercise, food, and rest.We close by encouraging journaling, doodling, crying, and other forms of emotional release. We emphasize that allowing feelings to move through can help the nervous system settle and support a return to calm.#Grief, #Anxiety, #PanicAttack, #Loss, #Bereavement, #Mourning, #MentalHealth, #EmotionalWellness, #GriefSupport, #AnxietyRelief, #OvercomingPanic, #ShockAndNumbness, #GriefAnger, #DealingWithSadness, #OvercomingFear, #DealingWithUncertainty, #InsomniaRelief, #Fatigue, #SelfCare, #DailyRoutine, #StressManagement, #StressRelief, #Meditation, #Mindfulness, #StressBreaks, #Aromatherapy, #PetTherapy, #InspirationalQuotes, #SocialSupport, #TherapyWorks, #GriefCoaching, #SupportGroups, #PhysicalHealth, #ExerciseForMentalHealth, #Journaling, #CreativeRelease, #EmotionalExpression, #LetItFlow, #CopingMechanisms, #HealingJourney, #NervousSystemRegulation, #EmotionalRelease, #AnxietyCoachesPodcast #GinaRyan #ACPSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
