Send us a Text Message. The River Arkansas initially formed when frontman Mike Clark (guitar, banjo, and singer-songwriter) and Macon Terry (bass) met as members of other bands in 2014, and realized soon after that they both lived in Colorado Springs. Clark and Terry ended up performing in the studio together and releasing the band's debut album, Golden Light.Terry then brought players from his own band Clouds and Mountains, Robin Chestnut (drums) and Rachel Sliker (violin), and toured the West Coast for a month before releasing the second River Arkansas album, You Animal. They've since released a third album, Any Kind of Weather, and three EPs, “Damn Good Dog,” “Waiting on the Rain,” and “Green Bridge”.Before Clark became a musician, he started as a semi-professional trials bike rider, taking his first big road trip across the West Coast at the age of 27 with a friend of his to ride their bikes and meet other riders to compete with. Clark's friend, Patrick, would play his guitar many times throughout the trip (Clark didn't know he had a guitar before this trip), and Patrick's playing inspired Clark enough that he bought a harmonica during a stop at a Seattle music shop. He practiced during the rest of the trip, and that was his first venture into music.Jack Cloonan's grandfather and father played accordion, and his father also played tenor banjo. Cloonan started playing accordion at seven years old and violin at nine, focusing on traditional Irish jigs. Around the age of fourteen, he picked up a guitar and started playing more contemporary rock tunes, such as those by Led Zeppelin. He picked up a mandolin for the first time during high school, and eventually, he found bands such as Leftover Salmon and String Cheese Incident, who took Irish tunes and fused them with American stylings. At around nineteen, he started writing his own songs, with some of his guitar influences including Doc Watson, Clarence White, Tony Rice, Larry Keel, and Jake Workman.Cloonan has also been able to spend time with banjo influence Andy Thorn from Leftover Salmon, as well as perform many times with Silas Herman, son of Vince Herman, founding member of the iconic band. Silas Herman, while also performing many times with his dad, has performed in dozens of music festivals and has shared the stage and recorded with groups and individuals such as Drunken Hearts, Terrapin Family Band with Peter Rowan, Sam Bush, Chris Thile of Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers, and The Kitchen Dwellers (just within the last couple of months). Who is Keith Poole? Well, here is what we do know... We know he is a candidate for county commissioner district #4 in Marion County, Florida but we don't know much else. I've yet to see a platform of ANY KIND, this after Mr. Poole announced his candidacy at the end of February. It's now nearly 2 months later and there is no official campaign Facebook page and no official website that even tells prospective voters what he stands for. Which begs the question... is Mr. Keith Poole a serious candidate for county commission district #4?

Check it out below: Brett Swarts 00:00 We'd like to say is we're unlocking that freedom, like Robert Kiyosaki on the right side of the quadrant, right? Getting on the business or investment side of things. It's like how do we use tax flow in this situation and using the deferred sales trust to unlock what someone's really trying to accomplish, whether that be moving closer to family, selling their big primary home, exiting their GP positions and not wanting to pay a bunch of tax, exiting their crypto and wanting to start a business venture, building investment real estate, the deferred sales trust unlocks that once you understand it. Intro 00:27 Welcome to the How to Scale Commercial Real Estate Show. Whether you are an active or passive investor, we'll teach you how to scale your real estate investing business into something big. Sam Wilson 00:39 Brett Swarts is the founder of Capital Gains Tax Solutions. Each year, he equips hundreds of business professionals with a Deferred Sales Trust tool to help their high-net-worth clients solve capital gains tax deferral limitations. Brett, that's a mouthful. I know you've come on in previous episode, I think this is last July 21, episode 234 that you came on, we really dove deep into the deferred sales trust. So if you're listening and going, "Hey, I don't even know what that is," hit pause, go back and listen to that episode again. 234 on July 21, of last year 2021. Get an understanding of that, because we're gonna kind of take a different spin on this today. Brett, welcome to the show. Brett Swarts 01:17 Sam, great to be back, excited to add some value to you and your listeners. Sam Wilson 01:21 Hey, man, absolutely excited to have you. One of the things that you and I spoke about here recently, we were both at the Best Ever Conference. And we really started digging into the crypto slash real estate conversation. And that's really what I'd love to spend the bulk of this episode talking about. Tell us, I mean, can you kind of just, the floor is yours, take over wherever you want. But that's what I want to talk about. Tell us what you guys are doing in that space, and really, why and what need you're solving or what problems... Brett Swarts 01:48 Absolutely. So you know, most crypto millionaires, they struggle with their capital gains tax when they go to exit their highly appreciated positions. And in fact, a recent study was done, there's about two to $3 trillion, depending on you know, the year that you're looking at these numbers of cryptocurrency in the world. And these are highly appreciated assets, I mean, talking thousands and thousands of percent returns. And so when they go to exit, they have a huge capital gains tax. And so we believe the opportunity to defer that tax and to be able to diversify that wealth is one of the best ways for crypto millionaires to create and preserve more wealth. And with that, connecting with the apartment syndication world and/or commercial real estate syndication world, it complements this whole strategy of what I'm calling tax flow versus cash flow. Sam Wilson 02:36 Can you break that down? What do you mean when you say tax flow versus cash flow? Brett Swarts 02:40 Yeah, so most of the time, we were told, you know, we're told all the time, Robert Kiyosaki, and all of us who love multifamily, invesing in real estate, it's cash flow, cash flow, cash flow. But I'm here to tell you, it's not just cash flow, it's tax flow. And now, of course, it's always been both. But more and more important today, because of the highly, let's say, accumulating debt in America, especially over $30 trillion, that the government is running out of options except for to raise taxes. And that is a big problem. And so it's more important as we as entrepreneurs, as business owners as cryptocurrency and multifamily investors, that we look at our tax flow strategy, and not just the cash flow because let's face it, the most expensive things that we're ever going to pay in life, one of them is taxes, if not the most, that's the one you're paying the most out of anything anywhere. And so you've got to figure out ways using the regulatory framework to have tax-efficient cash flow, not just highly appreciated assets. Sam Wilson 03:40 Right, yeah. Because what's the good in having a highly appreciated asset that you're paying a ton of taxes on? And I know you've kind of specialized or found a way to do this with the deferred sales trust. How are you doing that with crypto, just use the word crypto millionaires, how you doing with crypto investors have made a whole bunch of money? Brett Swarts 03:55 Yeah, well, we'll start with the story of August 7, 2021. And that's the one we broke the four-minute mile. And if you saw that Roger Bannister story about the person who broke three minutes and 59 seconds, he broke what many thought was impossible to break? Well, for us, that happened on August 7 to 2020 21 for a client of ours who owned a Etherium. He and his wife bought it for about 100,000 and went to 13 million, and they're living the, you know, 50-60 hour workweek in the tech industry. And she's an attorney and two kids and, you know, making a good salary but they lived in California, and it's very expensive, and they're looking at this huge amount of appreciation. And they're looking at exiting that pain, millions of dollars of tax. And so for the first time ever, we help them exit out of crypto all tax-deferred and anyone with the deferred sales trust for that matter. Over 25 year track record the traverse sales just been around and they were able to retire from their day to day job, travel with their family and then invested into in this scenario, they've invested into securities at this point, but they're waiting for the real estate market to shift and they're looking for opportunities to buy that. And so that's providing here, an opportunity to exit, get some freedom, get some cash flow, get some tax flow, and also defer millions of dollars of tax. So they need a $5 million deal. And we deferred about 1.8 5 million of tax then they liked it so much about three months later, Etherium had another high for what they're looking for. They exit two and a half million. And that's within one hour each. And that's the beauty of what we provide. It's so fast, so instantaneous, and but it's a huge impact for the families that we're serving. Sam Wilson 05:26 Yeah, that's really interesting. Is there while we're on this topic, are there any assets that you can't put into a deferred sales trust? Brett Swarts 05:34 No, it's worked for just about anything you can think of. It works for artwork, collectibles, public or private stock. We've done it for apartment complexes, self-storage facilities. We've done it for a dentist, I visited a dentist deal for a client out of New Jersey that was looking at a huge tax, we helped him defer $600,000 of tax and about a $1.5 million exit. It works for primary homes, luxury primary homes, as opposed to the 1031 exchange, which only works for investment property, or even the Delaware 1031 that only works for investment property. So the deferred sales trust really has zero limits on what it can defer, captive insurance, it can work for general partnership interest, LLC, LPs, anything you can think of now here's the key, it needs to have a $1 million net proceeds and a $1 million gain, it's got to be big enough in order to hire us right to pay for the services that we provide. Sam Wilson 06:19 Right. That makes a heck of a lot of sense. You said 1 million net proceeds slash $1 million net gain. That makes a lot of sense. That's really intriguing. How did you figure out or how did you find clients that have made money in crypto and say, "Hey, guys, let's all put this into a deferred sales trust"? Brett Swarts 06:35 It's a great question. We started talking about it, right? We start talking about the challenges that many of the crypto millionaires are facing, right? We actually started investing in it, ourselves, you know, in cryptocurrency. I started investing in 2017. My wife and I, we buy these, we call them Etherium rigs, that is supercomputers that we put together with our kids. And we start, we talked about Robert Kiyosaki's cash flow and getting on the right side of the quadrant. And we said, like, these are little cashflow producing machines as we sleep, they're producing some cash flow. Etherium, right? We also want to buy rentals, or it's a part of immersing ourselves into that world, and then trying to feel some of their pain, right, because all of us had friends or family who invested and went high and maybe went low or lost everything and we're going there's got to be a better way. And that's the same story that happened with apartment complex owners in Sacramento, when I was at Marcus & Millichap, same exact thing happened in 2008. And part of it was at 1031 Exchange chasing that deal in deferring that tax, but doing it in a way that put them in a poor position financially because they have too much debt and on less liquidity. And so we focus like a laser on what's something called, what's called optimal timing, sell high and buy low. And we just apply that to the crypto millionaire space. And we started a mastermind, we started podcasting about it. And now there everyone's finding us mostly on YouTube and podcast. Sam Wilson 07:48 Right. That's really interesting, for sure. So inside the deferred sales trust, I'm just gonna make sure I understand this, it is not time-bound, like a 1031. Brett Swarts 07:58 Exactly. So the deferred sales trust is amazing in that it's not time-bound, like a 1031 exchange. We call the 1031 exchange, 45 day, 180 timeframe the shotgun wedding. We all had friends, maybe a family who got married really quickly, right. And sometimes those things don't work out. And so the idea of optimal timing is being able to sell when you have a certainty of conviction that it's a good time to sell, exit that position, and then be on the sidelines and be ready to pounce on to opportunities, whether that be real estate, whether that be securities, whether that be back into cryptocurrency, whether they've been to hard money lending, all tax-deferred, using the deferred sales trust. I'll give you another example. We just helped the client, she bought Bitcoin for about $50,000. And she's working for a big tech company in Silicon Valley. And she had our $50,000 investment turned to $50 million. And I get this call and I'm going, "Oh my goodness, like you have a huge gain." She's like, "I'm lucky I never sold," and I go why didn't she sold. She's like, "Part of it because of the tax. I'm in California, I'm gonna get hammered. Part of it, I believe in the long-term future of Bitcoin. But the third part is I don't have a great place to invest it. Like I don't necessarily trust a lot of different things." She goes, but she goes, "I'd like to invest in this business venture. Can I go into real estate or another business venture with this?" And I said, "Using the deferred sales trust?" I go, "Yes, absolutely." So she exited the first 5 million when Bitcoin hit 54,000 a coin. And she deferred about 1.8 5 million in tax. And she's invested into a startup company for her the freedom was she could retire from the big tech company, but she could also build another company with her college roommate. It's an educational platform. It's what, like Robert Kiyosaki on the right side of the quadrant, right? Getting on the business or investment side of things. It's like how do we use tax flow in this situation and using the deferred sales trust to unlock what someone's really trying to accomplish, whether that be moving closer to family, selling their big primary home, exiting their GP positions and not wanting to pay a bunch of tax, exiting their crypto and wanting to start a business venture, building investment real estate, the deferred sales trust unlocks that once you understand it. Sam Wilson 09:58 That is awesome. Love that, that's really cool. Talk to us. And I know, again, we'd probably dug into this a little bit, but on the previous episode, but just these questions are coming up in my mind, much like, you know, let's say you're a self-directed IRA investor, all the proceeds have to go back into the IRA. Is that the same story with a deferred sales trust where even though, maybe you're deferring tax and things like that, you still really can't access the money? Or what does that look like as income-producing real estate throws off cash? Where does that cash then go? Brett Swarts 10:30 Yeah, how was the deferred sales trust like a self-directed IRA? And how is it not? Well, first of all, it's like a self-directed IRA. So when the funds are in there, it's in a tax-deferred state. And the growth in the cash flow can typically grow tax-deferred. Why? Because it's able to expense what it owes to you in a given year, even if you haven't received payments out. Right. And that's a really cool thing. So it's growing income tax deferred and capital gains tax. It's unlike self-directed IRAs, there is no required minimum distributions. Although we do recommend, and how we structure our promissory notes. And for those who are wondering the deferred sales trust, you're lending the funds to the trust in exchange for a promissory note, and the trust is paying you back over time, we do like to see some payments coming out within the first two years. Some amount of payments coming out where you will pay some income tax on. But there's no like other things that as far as if you're partnering with the trust, you can partner with the trust, and you can buy investment real estate and the way we structure it, you can become an owner of an LLC, and you can partner with the trust where you can get the traditional cash flow, and that's appreciation. And not all of the cash flow has to roll back into it. And so it's much more flexible, Sam, for sure. Yeah, Sam Wilson 11:34 That's, I mean, that's getting into the weeds on how you structure those things. But that makes a lot of sense. I guess the answer to the question is, can you keep all of the funds inside the trust and leave it there if you want? Can you also take money out? And it sounds like if you take money outside of the deferred sales trust, it just becomes taxable ordinary income? Brett Swarts 11:50 Yes, define "taking out." What is a taxable event with the deferred sales trust? The answer is if you take it personally into your personal account, or you use it, you spit it in, like a primary home or your personal expenses, right? So the government gives us these tax deferral options, in order to incentivize us to do the things that they can't do very well as part of why they encouraged us to build and manage and own multifamily properties, because they're not very good in being in the housing business, right. So they give us depreciation, this is back to the tax flow concept here, right? So the deferred sales trust, likewise, based upon IRC 453, which is an installment sale, goes back to the 1920s. They're giving us this tool to incentivize someone to exit cryptocurrency or another business. And as long as those funds are put back into the economy, ie business ventures investments, which is going to spur economic growth, which is what's going to spur job creation, which is going to spur income tax, right? So they're winning here, we're winning. And that's really the goal, like where are the funds going? And how are they taxed? So let's play that out. If you partner with the trust and buy investment, real estate and build that for a client, I just did that for $2.6 million business sale in Tennessee, and he's building 72 multifamily units in partnership with the trust, you do it in a specific order. It's a tax, all of this tax is deferred. Okay. But the moment he wanted to put into a primary home, should he do that or take it personally, then it's taxable. Does that make sense? Sam? Sam Wilson 13:11 Yeah. 100%, that answers the question entirely. That's really, really intriguing. Talk to me about timing on this. I mean, I think if everybody knew capacity or the capabilities of a deferred sales trust, it would be a very different environment for a lot of business owners, for a lot of people exiting things, you know, especially on the real estate side, you know, we see a lot of owner financing, especially on smaller deals, anything sub 10 million, if it's a mom and pop owner, most of the time that, you know, they'll want to do a seller carry-back just so they're not getting hammered with taxes all in one year. But this would be a unique strategy, of course, where they could plug it into a deferred sales trust. Where in this process is someone have to come to someone like you and say, "Hey, I need to employ your services." Is there a wrong time to do it? Brett Swarts 13:55 Yeah, when is it too late for the deferred sales trust? It's too late if the buyer has removed all contingencies. And that means there's nothing remaining, and that's what's called constructive or… and a couple of days or a week, and there's nothing remaining between basically you and the seller, being able to say, to force the sale, they can say "You must transact Mr. Buyer." And because there's no contingencies remaining, that is when it's too late, unless you're an investment real estate property owner, and you can send the funds to a qualified intermediary, and then we can save a failing 1031 exchange on day 45 or day 181? These are the things that we work through with people all the time. In fact, we have an entire system and I would highly encourage you to never use a company that will not allow you to use a deferred sales trust. Make sure your accommodator is willing to accommodate and we have those but I literally have had two or three calls millions of dollars on the line for a very, very large, large exchange accommodator that is not allowing and will not move the exchange and they're putting these people in a terrible position. And they'll never use them again. And so you got to be very cautious, 1031 exchange companies don't want you to know about this. Most of them know, your 1031 Exchange broker or commercial broker. Most of them don't want to know about this, by the way, I'm a commercial real estate broker, started Marcus & Millichap. I love 1031 exchanges, but I love options. But more than that, and letting my clients to make the options for them, what's best for them, so you got to be very educated and prepared and have the team ready to go. Okay, so that's the timing aspect. Now, everything else is not 1031 eligible. We've got to do it before the buyer remove all contingencies, or before you have exited your cryptocurrency to cash. Even if you have Etherium, or Bitcoin, or different coin, and you're moving those coins. Remember, if you move to a different coin, it's taxable. Right? So to set up a deferred sales trust, for cryptocurrency owner, what we do is step one, we set up a trust. Step two, we open up the trust account at a place called Kraken. It's one of them that we use. It's like a coin base. Step three, you transfer the coin to the Kraken account and the name of the trust, right. So you haven't transferred it to your own name. It's the trust account, you can exchange a promissory note. And from there, the trust account can sell the cash, and then it can go to a bank account, and then it can start paying you. So these are all the steps that we help guide you through every step of the way. So hopefully that answers the question, Sam. Sam Wilson 16:09 Yeah, absolutely. When is it too late? That's the summary question. Because I'm certain people have come to you in the past. And you're like, "Hey, I'm sorry, you're too late." And that's got to be a really disappointing conversation. Is there any golden parachute at that point, somebody can pull out that's different than a deferred sales trust? Brett Swarts 16:26 There's an opportunity zone, if it's within 180 days from the time they closed, right. And so opportunity zones are one of our good cousins that we like here, Capital Gains Tax Solutions, they're like the trusted cousin. And, by the way, 1031 exchange is the trusted cousin, too, if you could find the deal, it makes sense. So you got, you have Delaware 1031, which we use for mortgage over basis. The cool thing, you know, for capital gains tax, which is for a plug for us is we're agnostic, as long as the thing is absolutely the best fit for you, right, and it's helping you clarify that. So we're called Capital Gains Tax Solutions, plural. And we're going to assess, and sometimes it's a mixture of both, like I'm closing a deal in Colorado, it's a $4.5 million deal. And this particular client has what's called a mortgage over basis. And we're using a partial Delaware statutory trust to extinguish and we'll replace some of that debt over bases, because what the deferred sales trust cannot replace mortgage over bases, cannot defer that. So we got to replace that debt. We have a unique zero Amazon coupon deal, where they're able to put a partial amount into that small amount of equity, get a huge amount of debt replacement, non-recourse out of their name. And then the rest of it known to the deferred sales trust. Well, guess what , this client wants to get into some cryptocurrency. And he's been an apartment complex owner and syndicator for years, and he's looking to diversify a little bit, because he's not seeing enough yield in some of these apartment deals that he would like to see. And so that's the cool thing about what we provide. And the key is which option or options, plural, is best suited for you. Sam Wilson 17:46 That's really awesome. It just sounds like there's so many tools in the toolbox, you know that you guys have to help out people who are facing a tax liability situation. And I think that's the summary of the show is that even if you're in crypto, if you're in business, and again, there's a little bit of a rerun of the first episode, but no matter what you're in, that there are ways to reduce or eliminate your entire, you know, largest liability, which is your taxes. Brett Swarts 18:11 Can I add one more to that too? By the way, so we're called Capital Gains Tax Solutions, but we're also an estate tax solutions, okay. And so I want to make this, give you guys a little extra bonus here. So we had a client that was selling a $5 million asset in Colorado, it's a different client. They're selling apartment complexes about two years ago, and they were 25 million. And their challenge wasn't just capital gains tax, whether they had zero basis, and they had a lot of gain there. Their challenge was the estate tax. And that's 40% of anything above basically 22 million married, Sam, or 12 million single, and it has nothing to do with a stepped-up basis. The 1031 Exchange does not solve this, you know, the swap until you drop does not solve this. You have to get the funds, the equity, the assets outside of your taxable estate. So generally speaking, most folks are either buying a bunch of life insurance, they're doing a bunch of gifting to their kids as fast as they can, or they're giving it all the way to charity as much as they can. Right? Well, guess what we provide? Without having to do any of those first three, they exited their asset into what's called the deferred sales trust 2.0. It's the DST plus is what is known as. And they completely eliminated that 5 million outside of their taxable estate. Now, they're still pretty young, their late 50s, early 60s, and they're looking at growth on this $25 million dollar estate to probably 50, potentially. 75 million. Well guess what they just did with 5 million of that? They exited outside the taxable estate which is what it eliminates 40% of the debt tax. Okay, so that is huge to for anyone who has ultra high-net-worth clients and is looking for an elegant solution upon an exit of an asset. The deferred sales trust plus is got to be one of the things you're looking at because it's amazing what it can do. Sam Wilson 19:54 That's awesome. Brett again, you know, certainly enjoyed it. Thank you for coming on today. This was a blast to learn, again, all the really cool things that you can do with a deferred sales trust and the other options that are certainly out there. If our listeners want to get in touch with you or learn more about you, what is the best way to do that Brett Swarts 20:08 There's a couple options. Number one, go to capitalgainstaxsolutions.com, or search that on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. There's our big place where we provide a ton of free content, we have a ton of playlist, how to save a failed 1031 exchange, a 1031 exchange versus the deferred sales trust, the deferred sales trust versus the Delaware statutory trust. And then we have our cryptocurrency series as well, where we break down how to do this step by step. And then we have our mastermind every Friday at 10am Pacific Standard Time, 1pm Eastern is the Crypto DST Mastermind. We bring on clients, we bring on people learning about it for the first time, I bring on experts to talk about all of these things. And it's like a classroom. We're all hanging out. I'm on there, my team members are on there. My strategic alliances are on there. And we're just talking all about these types of things for, in frequently asked questions. And the last thing is we have expert tax secrets. We're coming with a brand new book, Kevin Harrington is going to be in the book, which is pretty cool. He's from Shark Tank and a bunch of other people. And so you can check out that new book. It's called Building a Tax-Deferred Exit Strategy. Sam Wilson 21:07 Love it. Brett, thank you again for your time. Have a great rest of your day. Brett Swarts 21:10 Thanks, Sam! Sam Wilson 21:11 Hey, thanks for listening to the How to Scale Commercial Real Estate Podcast. Are you a racist? I ask a serious question, are you?If you are white, however you define the color of the skin white, you are according to BLACK LIVES MATTER and millions of others, black and white. Most people, most white people would answer that question with a resounding NO – I AM NOT A RACIST. The vast majority of people, and Americans right thinking, fair minded and honest cannot judge any person by the color of the skin. Rather, as Dr. Martin Luther King would say, by the content of the person's character. But according to BLACK LIVES MATTER founders, three black ladies Marxist–trained, if you are white, you are racist whether you know it or not! That is, whether or not you practice racism. For, to be born white is to be born genetically SYSTEMIC RACIST, whatever that means. If you are born white, you are born with a systemic, perhaps genetic antipathy for black people. In my view, nothing is more racist than such accusations, NOTHING! It matters not, says BLACK LIVES MATTER members and spokespersons, whether or not you are conscious of your racism. If you are, and you are racist, of course you know that. But even if you think you are not racist, or perhaps never even really think about racism as such, you are still, they say, racist subconsciously. It is there, this hatred of another race whether you know it or not! SYSTEMIC RACISM. What a bunch of poppycock. Those who espouse this hatred, this BLACK LIVES MATTER stuff are themselves HATEFUL RACISTS! Tragically, this thinking, this spread of racial hatred permeates now so much of our educational system. There is what is known as the NEW PEDAGOGIES, new teaching priorities, a new way of educating the young about their inherent, systemic racism especially if they are white. There is the spread across American education from kindergarten through 12th grade, and especially in colleges and universities of what Fatima Morell, she the Director of the Office of CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTICALLY RESPONSIBLE INITIATIVES calls the requirement of culturally responsive teaching. No matter reading, writing and arithmetic, racism is priority one and all teachers must culturally respond accordingly. This Morell terms as well the: PEDAGOGY OF LIBERATION.She claims, for the Buffalo public school systems and hopefully all others, that such instructional strategies are EQUITY BASED and justify a complete revision, THE COMPELTE EMANCIPATION of Buffalo public school curricula. In short, fourth grader, you are racist whether you know it or not and you ought to get about the business of cleansing that racism from your system. Morell like so many others summarizes all of this new racism in one word: WOKE!Fatima Morell is the architect of the new racism, the attack on whites and perhaps all non–Blacks in Western New York. It is there and at least in some ways, everywhere.Right thinking people, many of whom are Christian including white, Hispanic (so called brown), yellow – Asian or any other non–Black color should be shocked at the accusations of Morell and all like her that all such are RACISTS and in need of recognition of such followed by full atonement for those cultural sins. But the vast majority, VAST MAJORITY of these accused are not the least bit racist. They regard all men, all people no matter the color as equal, especially under our Constitution. They are not prejudiced, hateful, biased against blacks or any other person of different skin color. They believe, unlike much of BLACK LIVES MATTER that all human beings matter and that all human beings are created equal. Christians believe that all men and women are Gods creations, they matter to HIM and all who believe will one day be together, really together and with him no matter the color of the skin. That is fact, truth but that matters not to Morell, or BLACK LIVES MATTER or all other WOKE individuals who have become culturally responsive and champions of: THE NEW RACISM. The new hatred of the woke Blacks against whites and all like them. In the Buffalo public schools, Fatima Morell and her associates have created a new curriculum promoting BLACK LIVES MATTER, no matter that the organization and the founders have strong Marxist ties. Teachers are required to engage in ANTI RACIST training programs which promotes radical politics and as one anonymous Buffalo public school teacher said:“A series of scoldings, guilt trips and demands to demean oneself simply to make another feel empowered.”This teacher went on to state that these “manipulative mind games” must be adopted by all, expressing support for Morell's left–wing politics or “risk professional retaliation.” Reverse and hateful racism, black against white, don't you think? The fundamental assumption is that all Americans are guilty of “implicit racial bias.” What an absolute bunch of nonsense.I AM NOT A RACIST. Not in any way. I state that emphatically and clearly. That is so in my personal and professional life. You may find it interesting that the majority of the employees of the Crawford Broadcasting Company are so called MINORITIES. THE MINORITY IS THE MAJORITY! I suppose I should be proud of that, but in reality, I am only proud of them, those people, the so called discriminated against minority of workers. They have earned their positions; their salaries and they have taken advantage of the opportunities this company affords. They learn, they grow, they produce, all of them, no matter the color of the skin. And they make my company what it is, great in my opinion without favor or prejudice. Even as there is opportunity, there is accountability. We emphasize as scripture does WORK and not WOKE. At the slightest sign of racism of any kind, ANY KIND conscious or subconscious, that individual is terminated immediately. This company has zero tolerance for racism not just as a matter of policy but in actual practice. Discriminate in any way against any person of any skin color, red, yellow, black or white, and you are gone, TERMINATED! We do not think about racism in our company for THERE IS NONE. We proudly serve God and Country, all of us and we will not be diverted by the Morell's of the world, the BLACK LIVES MATTER movement and all like them, we will not succumb to WOKE thinking or tenets. We do not understand SYSTEMIC RACISM, whatever that means for there is none in my company and to my knowledge none in the lives of the wonderful people with whom I work. We are concerned that it is Director Morell and all like her who fan the flames of racism, and promote the NEW RACISM, fostering hate and at least verbal aggression against all non–Blacks and we resist and deeply resent this movement, its ideals and any impact it may have on this company or the wonderful people who live and work here. But back to the Buffalo public schools and Director Fatima Morell. Morell has designed a curriculum requiring schools to teach the BLACK LIVES MATTER PRINCIPLES which include among other radical and revolutionary demands the “dismantling of cisgender privilege” and creating “queer–affirming networks where heteronormative thinking no longer exists!” Some of this new stuff actually occurs in kindergarten and for the minds of four-year-olds. The new thinking, the new teaching is not about a man and a woman, nothing biological about people, but only the NEWNORMAL where you are what you want to be, a so called New Gender Identity and the new Sexual Orientation. And more, and this should frighten every American parent and citizen. This new curriculum is designed to accelerate: “The disruption of Western nuclear family dynamics.”Can you believe that?Christopher Rufo, an excellent writer for the New York Post newspaper, obtained lesson plans from the Buffalo public school district (Morell) which promulgate the following as Rufo states:“The lesson plans which I have obtained from the district (Buffalo public schools) are even more divisive. In kindergarten, teachers ask students to compare their skin color with an arrangement of crayons and watch a video that dramatizes dead Black children speaking to them from beyond the grave about the dangers of being killed by racist police and state sanctioned violence.” Can you believe that? Kindergarten, four-year-old children being indoctrinated by this wicked, evil, hateful stuff. Absolutely incredible. And the hateful Buffalo public school curriculum only gets worse as the children get older. In middle and high school grades, students learn that:“All white people play a part in perpetuating systemic racism. Often unconsciously, white elites work to perpetuate racism through politics, law, education and the media.”From four to 18 years old, this hateful, racist curriculum pounds the drumbeat of racial hatred into the hearts and minds of innocent children. Can you believe this? Where are the right thinking, fair minded people who should stand up to this reverse racism, this new cultural hatred and excise this from the Buffalo school curriculum and in fact all of Western New York and the rest of our country. And perhaps the worst of all at least in my thinking. If you are white, born white, you have a very special duty to atone for your: WHITENESS.The chief attribute of WHITENESS is systemic racism, buried deep whether conscious or unconscious. If you are white, you are racist! And therefore, white man or woman, your first priority is to: ATONE FOR YOUR WHITE PRIVILEGE.Be sorry, make amends, apologize for the fact that you are WHITE. Absolutely unbelievable. This stuff doesn't come from a book, or a publication, or the thinking and speech of a few radicals and revolutionaries. This is actual teaching and this, all of this is now happening in the Buffalo public schools and in fact, all across America. This thinking, these tenets, more or less, are happening everywhere, in every state, in every county and city, and, more or less in every educational institution, from kindergarten through college and university. Whether you are aware or care, it is happening where you live, it is happening to your educational systems, more or less. And it will only continue to happen, and grow, and fester, and corrupt American culture in ways almost impossible to understand. This is hard truth. It is difficult as a subject matter to be dealt with by a broadcast company and its media outlets which are Christian at the core, conservative, and deeply concerned with the future of our once great America. YOU should be concerned because YOU have to be concerned. TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY THE CHILD SHOULD GO says our beloved Bible, true words indeed. For if that training and education, which begin at the ages of three, four or five occurs, when that child becomes old, mature, an adult: THAT CHILD, THAT ADULT WILL NOT DEPART THEREFROM!Get them young and get them forever. I am so deeply concerned, I grieve for the innocent young children in the Buffalo public school system and so many other once great American public school systems who are being brainwashed, indoctrinated, intimidated by this new WOKE, these new racist, cultural imperatives for, Fatima Morell and all like her are determined that these young children will grow and graduate and get going as adult: ACTIVISTS FOR ANTI RACISM. Goodbye America unless you and I step up, put an end to this, get back to good solid teaching and education and train these young hearts and minds to be fair minded, true Americans with nothing but the highest respect for all men and women who are created equal under God and under our Constitution. Please stand up my fellow Americans and put an end to this stuff. If we don't put an end to this, it will put an end to us, and our beloved America.

Topic: Pokemon Tutorial Today, we're starting the long haul of going through Pokémon. We're going to discuss mostly the games today and the world of Pokémon, because if we went through the myriad of spinoffs, this would become an even longer episode. We go over the basics, and try to discuss some of what Pokémon represents as a whole. History Created by Satoshi Tajiri, the game initially started based off his love of collecting insects as a child. As the home he lived in started to become more urbanized, he noticed bugs disappearing and children staying in the house more often. He wanted to create a game that would allow people to catch creatures similar to insects, which he would call Pokémon. Prior to Tajiri being known for Pokémon, he developed the self-published magazine, Game Freak, which discussed Video Game, and eventually began reviewing them, before becoming a video game development company. The initial Pokémon game was Pocket Monsters Red & Green in 1996, which was quite popular for the aging Nintendo GameBoy. It went on to re-invigorate the series, and sparked its second coming. A further version known as Pocket Monster Blue updated the graphics and went on to add some more Pokémon and updated the graphics for many of their Pokémon as well. This Blue version would be the basis for the Red and Blue Pokémon titles we saw in the west and other portions of the world. The initial idea for having two games was that they could divide some of the monsters between the two different systems, allowing for more of a reason to trade between other players, which was a focus of the game. About a year later, the Pokémon Anime would start in Japan, which has been ongoing since 1998 until today, and included all of the previous game series. The series follow Satoshi, or Ash, with his Pikachu through various Pokémon regions and areas, interacting with new Pokémon, gyms, and trying to become a Pokémon master. Pikachu was originally the second option for a Mascot Character, as the original Jigglypuff was initially considered, but turned down after lukewarm reception. GameFreak and Nintendo would continue to release new games, adding to the expanding roster of Pokémon with each cycle, or Generations. There are too many spins off to name; the series is likely one of the best selling franchises behind Mario, and probably more common than Mario as well. Premise The world is very similar to ours, save for more wild forests and areas that have been unaltered or inhabited by humans. Typical animals do not exist, but instead replaced with Pokémon, many of which resemble animals of our own species, as well as various planets, materials, and forms. Most Pokémon are animals of some king, but some are plant based, take the shape of rock golems, or even pool of slime. There are even ghost Pokémon. Pokémon carry an affinity, or known as a type, which signifies what abilities they have available to them. Some Pokémon may use abilities that are not associated with their type, and may even have more than one type associated with them. Pokémon all have special abilities, from head-butting and clawing, to even producing fire, water, electricity, and even psychic abilities, and more. These abilities form the basis of Pokémon battles and fighting. Pokémon come in all shapes and forms, and most can evolve after a period of time, or training. Evolved Pokémon follow a simple track and always evolve in to the next line of Pokémon in their species, save for an Eevee, which can evolve in various other Pokémon in its species family. Evolved Pokémon are almost always more powerful than non-evolved Pokémon. Pokémon live in the wild, but can also live with humans much in the same way you would pets. Depending on the type of Pokémon, they might life in forests, caves, near water, or even in snow. Pokémon typically reside in certain regions of the world, and even then only in certain areas, though some Pokémon are more common than others in some regions. If a Pokémon lives with humans, it’s not uncommon for them to be treated like members of the family. It’s not uncommon for Pokémon to develop long lasting relationship with their human owners, or trainers, often coming to their aid or defense if anything is to arise. Most humans have at least one Pokémon, if not more, of their own; though for younger generations, they may have a family Pokémon, as adults are less likely to have huge Pokémon collections. If living with a human, Pokémon typically reside within a Pokeball, a ball that electronically houses the Pokémon within a ball roughly the size of a softball. The size of the Pokémon doesn’t matter, as it is digitized and placed within the pokeball. No science has really gone on to explain the mechanics or sciences behind it. Pokémon generally get caught in a pokeball once they have been weakened in a battle, usually by throwing the ball and having it tap the pokeball. Once a Pokémon is in a pokeball, they are forever tied to that pokeball and can be recalled back into the ball if they are in a weakened state. Most people who go on to raise and train Pokémon are known as Pokémon Trainers. Pokémon Trainer is a person that trains Pokémon to become stronger or better over time, with the usual intention of using the Pokémon to perform battles with. Pokémon Battles are typically 1 on 1, with each trainer being able to use up to six Pokémon in total. Pokémon battles are typically affairs to see who is the better training, but also a way of resolving most major disagreements. Anyone and everyone can be a trainer, even those with jobs already, and it is not uncommon for a battle to break out at a moment’s notice, though most do not do so indoors, but tend to do it outside, or in specialized locations or Arenas. If a Pokémon take enough damage, they will faint and return to their pokeball until they can be healed or revived. The goal of most Pokémon Trainers is to become Pokémon Masters, competing in tournaments and competitions to crown truly skillful and great trainers. In order to be able to compete in these tournaments and competitions, Trainers must compete in Gym Battles in the local area, and defeat the Gym Leader to receive a Badge that signifies the Trainer’s skill. These badges are often requirements four tournaments, competitions, or matches, and trainers without a significant number, or certain badges, will not be allowed to compete. Beyond battle competitions, there are Pokémon Coordinators, a type of trainer that specializes in showing Pokémon Skills and talents, along with clothing, in order to prove their worth. Rather than fighting, a Pokémon may use their abilities to create shows or tricks that can be judged by judges. Similar to Gym Battles, most major towns have some sort of competition that can be entered throughout the year. At the age of 10, young children can start their adventure to become a Pokémon Trainer. They are often gifted, or earn, a Pokémon, and from there are allowed to leave the house and start their own adventure. A typical trainer will start with some basic necessities, including some pokeballs and medicine for their Pokémon, along with basic camping and survival gear. Pokémon Trainers can make money off of other trainers or collect rare objects in the wild to help them along. Everyone has access to Pokémon Centers. There are locations that offer to heal and rehabilitate Pokémon if they have been injured, hurt, or incapacitated in a battle. The process is relatively quick, and free of charge to any Pokémon trainers. The Pokémon Centers offer bedrooms and meals for children trailing on their own adventure, along with helpful advice and information about the area. They are found in every town, village, and city, and even long specialized routes or locations. While most people are good natured to their Pokémon, not everyone is, and some will use their Pokémon for evil or malicious intentions. There are some leagues of villains that band together, like Team Rocket, which attempt to steal and kidnap Pokémon from their owners in order to assist with world domination or some other evil plot. They are often the antagonist of games and other media. Much like bad people, there are good people, who try to study Pokémon throughout the world. To aid young adventures, these professors of Pokémon offer a Pokedex, which keeps track of all known Pokémon in the region and other locations, and offers information, pictures, and collecting of Pokémon. The intent is for trainers to fill up their Pokedex, and return the information to the professor for further analysis and study, leading to their symbiotic nature. Games - Mainline Generation 1 (1996 – 1999) Console: GameBoy JP: Pokémon Green & Red, Blue, Yellow US: Pokémon Red & Blue, Yellow Total Pokémon: 151 Region: Kanto These initial games were the basis for the Franchise, which hasn’t deviated much from the initial formula. Released in Japan in 1996, and the US 1998, the series has one major spinoff in Pokémon Yellow, an enhanced version with updated sprites for the Pokémon, minor game play tweaks, and the ability to have Pikachu follow you from the start. Pokémon Yellow is meant to mirror the anime, which mirrors the original game as a whole. The original game took place in the Kanto region, similar to the real life Kanto region of Japan, which is the home of Tokyo and surrounding prefectures. Generation 2 (1999 – 2002) Console: Gameboy Color Pokémon Gold & Silver, Crystal Total Pokémon: 251 Region: Johto This generation was the first major advance, debuting on the gameboy color, but if you still had the older hardware, would still work on a regular Gameboy. He series added a day and night system, as well as an in-game clock, with some Pokémon only appear at certain times of the day. The game also introduced an additional 100 Pokémon, and evolutions for other Pokémon that didn’t exist before. Players upon finishing the Johto region could travel back to the Kanto region and continue the adventure there. Players who also had the older games could trade Pokémon from their older version to the new version, allowing for a full complete pokedex. You can not trade from a newer version to an older version however, as the older Blue & Red games would have the newer Pokémon added. Taking place in the Johto region, which mirror modern day Japan’s Kansai region, with places like Osaka and Kyoto included in the area. Generation 3 (2002 – 2006) Console: Gameboy Advance Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed & LeafGreen Total Pokémon: 386 Region: Hoenn This was the first generation to offer remakes of older games, with FireRed & LeafGreen faithful remakes of the original Pokémon Red and Green, but using the updated pokedex of 386 Pokémon. These games also offered the first series of 2 on 2 battles, pitting four Pokémon against each other. The series is however not well regarded, as they dropped the day and night cycle due to issues with the battery in the cartridge, as well as limited updating of the series elements, including trying to limit the collectable Pokémon to 202 instead of the full 386. The games take place in Hoenn, an island similar to Japan’s Kyushu Island. Generation 4 (2006 – 2010) Console: Nintendo DS Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold & SoulSilver Total Pokémon: 493 Region: Sinnoh Introduced on the two screen DS, the games offered an improved Day and Night cycle, found in Generation 2, as well as introducing 3D Graphics to the game in certain areas. Due to the Nintendo DS’s wifi capabilities, it allowed people to also play against other people in local areas virtually, meaning you could be battling or trading with someone on the other side of a building or network. Like the previous generation, the also remade Generation 2’s Gold and Silver games, being relatively faithful adaptations and remakes using newer hardware and technology. This time, the Sinnoh region acts as Japan’s Hokkaidō island, the very north of Japan’s islands. Generation 5 (2010 – 2013) Console: Nintendo DS Pokémon Black & White, Black 2 & White 2 Total Pokémon: 649 Region: Unova Unlike other generations, 5th generation is unique for a couple of reasons. Firstly, at the time, it’s offered the most new Pokémon at 156, but none of the Pokémon were evolutions for previous Pokémon in other generations, meaning only New Pokémon. It also was the first generation to not remake older games, which would have been Ruby & Sapphire by normal conventions. It’s also the only series to have direct spin offs in the form of new games; these games continued the story from the first game, but played as though it was you were a new trainer coming in to the continuing story. It is also unique in not offering a third, director’s-cut version of the game, like with Yellow, Crystal, Emerald or Platinum. It is also unique in that the setting is meant to be New York City and not a part of Japan as previous versions had been. Generation 6 (2013 – 2016) Console: Nintendo 3DS Pokémon X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Total Pokémon: 721 Region: Kalos 6th generation is notable for introducing fully 3d Pokémon, with all Pokémon fully rendered in 3d. It also introduced Mega Evolutions, a rare additional evolution that is limited but extremely powerful form for some Pokémon. Introduced was the Pokémon Bank as well, which could hold all your Pokémon online for an additional fee, and upload them in to other games without link cables or wifi access locally. The 6th generation returned with remakes of older titles, with Ruby and Sapphire getting the remake treatment. The Kalos region is heavily influenced by France, but also by the greater Europe as a whole as well. Generation 7 (2016 - 2019) Console: Nintendo 3DS & Nintendo Switch Pokémon Sun & Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Pokémon Let’s Go! Total Pokémon: 809 Region: Alola For the first time in many generations, the ability to trade back and forth with older versions was made available again, with X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and Virtual Console remakes of Red, Blue, & Yellow, allowing players to collect all 809 Pokémon. It was also the second time in which new versions of the games were released as direct sequels to the first. A new feature wasn’t necessarily new Pokémon, be regional Pokémon, with some Pokémon switching elements and getting new looks, associated with them, leading to variations on the same Pokémon. Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee were also released for the Switch, which were faithful adaptations of Pokémon Yellow with Pokémon Go style controls. The Alola region is based off Hawaii and it’s islands. Generation 8 (2019 – Present) Console: Nintendo Switch Pokémon Sword and Shield Total Pokémon: 896 Region: Galar The first mainline game title for the home Console, Sword and Shield offers a refinement of all the classic systems. Rather than an overhead, or 2d plane, the game is fully 3d and follows players in a similar fashion as they world a 3d game, though areas are still laid out like maps. Pokémon now have a new evolved form, making them huge, and in some cases, new features and forms, but giving them new abilities as well. One major dislike is that while there are a total of 896 Pokémon, only about 400 total Pokémon are available for collection and being added to the pokedex, with many fan favorites being omitted from the final roster. Dubbed Dexit, after Brexit and pokedex, the news was not well received, with Nintendo and Gamefreak stating that they couldn’t support all nearly 900 Pokémon, and realized they would have to limit it at some point, as well as focusing their energy on improving the quality of the remaining Pokémon. Galar is loosely based on Great Britain and the British Isles. Homework Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee Pokémon Anime of Any Kind

Marc has since turned his experience into giving back and has become a private pilot and flies today's cancer sufferers to treatment from North Texas (Decatur), and volunteers his time with many charities including Raquel's Wings For Life. "You're gettin what you're gettin, cuz your givin what your givin..." https://raquelswingsforlife.comhttps://kbmdhealth.comhttps://gutcheckproject.comHey hi Mandy if you don't know me it's probably because I'm not famous but I did start a men's grooming company called Harry's the idea for Harry's came out of a frustrating experience I had buying razor blades most brands were overpriced overdesigned and out of touch and here is our approach is simple here's our secret we make sharp durable blades and sell them at honest prices for as low as two dollars each we care about quality so much that we do some crazy things by world-class German blade factory obsessing over every detail means were confident in offering 100% quality guarantee millions of guys have already made the switch to Harry's so thank you if you're one of them and if you're not we hope you give us a try with the special offer get a Harry starter set with a five blade razor weighted handle shave gel and a travel cover all for just three bucks plus free shipping just go to Harry's.com and enter 5000 at checkout that's Harry's.com code 5000 enjoy and here we are it is episode number four of get Jake project here with Dr. Kenneth Brown I am Eric Rieger again hey doing today I'm doing fantastic episode number Quatro number Quatro that is Spanish for radio no as mentioned before that is Spanish number four yes you are you pretty well versed in Spain Georgia were bilingual home absolutely well do you like to speak Spanish and I'm probably the worst speaker in the house. here in just a moment incredible story of survival new lease on life and what he's doing after his battle with cancer but if you been watching get check project for all of the last three weeks you know that dark to our first half-hour is news and notes for gut check project so Dr. Brown what's happening new in the Brown household here since Elisha well in the Brown household what's really exciting is my daughter in her improv it's just theatric class she's a sixth-grader she came home and taught me something really really good that basically whatever you doing improv what you have to do is say yes it's yes and secondly if dues trust third thing is listen and then the fourth thing is make a statement and I heard that no like I need your teacher to come over to KBS headquarters we can work on that as a teambuilding exercise improv exercise to make a team yes and I love that yes and and then I want to trust what's coming next I loved this pretty while the basically an improv class she is learning just great communication skill left I thought we were laughing about it last night so Zachary know to come home with like what you learned today and that's were talking about the really cool thing our house is my son is currently playing in the finals of a really big tennis tournament out in Indian Wells California the Easter bowl to big one so at 11 o'clock our time he will be playing in the finals were very very proud of it in both singles and doubles so the brown households having some good times right now about you well number one shout out to Lucas and Karla those are both the great notes to to be able to carry around the data know that you're proud of both of them for me both of the boys have moved into off-season basketball there really fired up they've been out of basketball all of about 10 days which I think if you shoot who apparently that's way too long so they both get started but something that we did as a family that was a lot of fun just a little week ago I should've mentioned it last week show I'd never done it before my oldest son actually done it before a couple of times and that is we all sat down relaxed and got pedicures and I'm here to tell you that include dad included nice if you haven't done it don't knock it did you try it because I'm going back that fell awesome and now I mean table I got really ticklish feet but I didn't know something learned about myself is that my left foot is more ticklish than my right because as they began to exfoliate the bottom of my foot especially the left side I was crying from laughing so hard as I got in my mouth and of course the other woman doing is looking up and laughing again with everyone else as they exchanged their own jokes in another language I'd alsojust like Spanish and did it at my expense was completely worth it and I will deftly be back so I almost got a pedicure once I know standing out front and I looked at my feet and it remind me of the scene from dumb and dumber with a grinder to toenails a wireless want to do that to anybody to put the clause back in the shoe keep on walking now is he always worried he wanted done it when I reveal like a Frito toenail or anything else like that but I think I walked away as best we can be that had since probably I was a baby's kids really good pedicure now don't even have to ask what you been up to because you and I rush to hang out we were this last weekend he and Emily were business makes a little bit of pleasure yeah and that was in the Utah powder mountain that was awesome incredible skiing lots of powder fantastic so much snow for late March he was beautiful is a great place to go and visit not crowded either now our ski experiences were little bit differently where they were loaded and so to put it in context Eric was like Kelly dropping and taking these tractors up and I actually had escorted down the mountain by two wonderful people Lindsay Vaughn and Susie Chapstick but it was Juliet and Karen are awesome so I survive it was a big thing didn't break anything didn't do anything but the our expenses were totally different you came back just on my couch that was incredible backcountry all powder and I was like oh yeah my little different I had two women sort of guiding me down the mountain the whole way so there's no shame in effect I'll even say whenever you but whenever we yeah got into our skis the first day you had planned on even making a few runs together it was snowing so hard I stopped to buckle up my helmet is safe and I looked up and Ken and the other four people that I was skiing with were gone they probably want you probably want 20 feet away from me but it was a complete wideout for the first what our we skied oh no I Don't I ended up staying in that area and like true why don't I lost everybody like it was you couldn't see your hand in front of you who not only did I not been skiing over 10 years that's not the way to start now and shout out to Blake Kingsbury for finding me he looked like a yeti lost in a snowstorm and that basically was my beacon on the way down I had no idea how to get down but dad know that was that was a great time up it to powder mountain if you like skiing snow skiing deep powder skiing you take yourself a big powder mountain we move on here a little bit to basically the news because yesterday while we were working at the Indocin or you ran up to me you said look at this study this is a little bit more in terms of what we've been talking about bore catalysts and what causes cancer I will let you take it over from there because it's pretty pretty incredible piece but thought it was so it was just published a photo so appropriate to have Mark on the show were duly talking about cancer and surviving cancer well in this just recently published in the Journal of science this month they did a study with a looked at how high fructose corn syrup actually enhances colon cancer in mice so what they did is they took the equivalent of one soda a day and they gave the mice that amount of fructose corn syrup the issue is that they had genetically engineered these mice so that they would get polyps and cancer sure which is funny because you wonder like your to be genetically engineered you never think that your to get that like I'm genetically engineered to be faster genetically engineered bigger stronger than one poor mouse is like on genetically engineered to get cancer and that's how they end up looking at these different studies so what they did as they showed that by giving the high fructose corn syrup dramatically raise the amount of polyps and cancer over 80 times the mice that were not given high fructose corn so this is with an equivalent of one soda one soda a day so it's absolutely incredible because I love your member but a year ago study came out where was looking at how the rate of colon cancer millennial's has been going to share we did a video on that on YouTube or Ricardo was we did the interpretive jujitsu and what it showed is it dealt with the millennial's were getting a higher rate of colon cancer because of obesity they should with these mice they did not become obese they did not develop metabolic syndrome it's strictly due to the fructose and the sugar that they were consumed then they were able to actually show that I take it was fructose the tumor cells love it so much that they could put a radioisotope and they could show that it just got sucked up it turns on certain genes that allows the tumor to go undetected absolutely fascinating because the fructose and that the high fructose corn syrup they believe could be very similar to others like table sugar bottom line is tumors love sugar and this is the first study that's been done were really actually look at that and it's actually fascinated Mileage Is about to Come to Clear My Throat What This Actually Shows Is Now They're Looking at How to Actually Adapt Fasting Plus Ketogenic Diet When You Have Two More Surprises If You Can Give Him Sugar That's Just Going to Absolutely Feed It like Crazy so Fascinating Study Just One Soda a Day Can Do This Just Write down A Few Things Here Because You Said A Lot Of Impressive Information so If We Were to Backtrack and We Can Take Away That Tumor Cells Love Sugar and Live They Love Circulating Glucose That's Going to Be Their Main Desired Use for Energy and That's How They Grow They Don't Have Energy They Can't Grow Something Else That You Said and There Was Was Really Captivating to Me and That Is They Were Able to Take the High Fructose Corn Syrup after Consumed and Basically Activate A Process Where the Body Could Not Detect That They Were Tumors Themselves so Not Only Were They Now Stealing the Energy so They Could Continue to Grow As a Cancer And Develop into a Bigger Tumor Diesel Tumors Now Are Being Able or Allowed to Activate Something Where They Were Basically Incognito Not Being Able to Be Detected by the Mice and Their Immune System Greg Will Exactly Actually Gets into so This Is Where I Start Getting into the Geeky Stuff Little Bit There's an Enzyme Called Keto Hexokinase Which Will Change Fructose into Fructose One Phosphate While That Turns on The Gene in the Tumor to Use the Glucose More so That's What Tells It to Absorb It More so It Actually Little Cascade and They've Actually Shown the Third Trying to Develop Drugs That Actually Block That So There's Ashley Phase 2 Clinical Trials Going on with Her Trends If They Can Block That One Little Enzyme Does That Sure so What Then The Able or Would We Then Be Able to Extrapolate That Maybe the Reason Why Millennial's Are Now Seeing an Increase In Colon Cancer Is Because Generationally Probably If We Were to Back It up Two or Three Generations We've Seen an Increase in Sugar Consumption People Believe That Sugar Is Related to Inflammation That Those Two Things Combined Together Are Now We Are Seeing an Increase in These Types of Cancers They're Being Detected Because When You Consume Any Type of Food He Goes Straight to Your G.I. Tract Would You Say That This Is Somewhat Related or Possibly Related Will That Was the Funny Part Is This Study Gets You Thinking about That Because When They When They Were This Is the First Time That We Have Seen People Having a Higher Incidence of Colon Cancer Than Their Parents Rights for Simon so It Was Speculated over It's Gotta Be Obesity It's Gotta Be the Metabolic Syndrome This Is the First One Would You Look at Something Ago Now Looks like It's the Way That Were Processing Food The High Fructose Corn Syrup Is in Everything Everything but It's Really Concentrated One Can of Soda and so the Consumption of Soda Has Increased since the 80s Significantly So Is It Our Diet That's Doing This Were Trying to Label It with Different Things Owed Sedentary Lifestyle or Possibly It Smoking or Whatever Now Looks like Our Diet Is Really Contributing to the Amount of Cancers That Were Seeing You It's Wild If You Just Look Back I Can Never Looking Back at Pictures of My Dad or My Mom Growing up and What Family Pictures Look like Whenever They Went on Vacation He Would See Everyone and All the Ancillary Players in the Photographs Around And Who They Considered to Be Overweight Back Then In the 50s and 60s and Stephen the 70s And It's Starkly Different Than the Then the Body Type so What People Look like Today and What We Consider Overweight and for Me Personally I Really Don't Even Point It Those People It's Just Our Food Supply Is so Inundated With Lots of Things That You Just Are Unaware Could Possibly Be Contributing to Natalie Being Overweight but Probably the Diseases That Maybe Are Going to Have That You Don't Even Know the Are Manifesting Right Now Unfortunately Possibly Even Colon Cancer for Millennial Becomes Really Kind of the Disheartening That They Are Actually Allowing or They'd the Insurance Companies Are Allowing Us to Screen People at an Earlier Age and They Wouldn't Do It If It Weren't In Balance with with Cost It's Always More Cost-Effective to Catch a Cancer Early Then Late so If They Are Allowing People to Not Have To Wait till 50 To Come in and Just Get Their First Screening and Now They've Lowered It Doubly 4545 and If There's a Family History of Violence Then It's 42 Start to Begin and That Was Not That Way It All 10 Years Ago for Sure It Was an End It's Fascinating Because Here I Am I Just Got This Article Yesterday You and I Were I Was Doing Colonoscopies Yesterday and I Just Started Jumping up and down Because I Realize That When Patients Go into Recovery Most of Them Are Given a Can of Soda after They Get out There Sentiment. To That Right Now Were to Put a Stop Ides I Told All the Nurses Alike No More so to Tour Patients Were Trying to Stop Colon Cancer And Were Causing It by Drinking Minnesota so We Should At Least Lead by Example Would Be Given Patients a Pack of Cigarettes with Her Leaving the Endo Center I Got Admit It Did Nobody in the Hospital System Seems to and from RT Friends at Them so I Bet If You Want to Find the Smoking Dock Just Look for the Respiratory Therapist outside of the Hospital Why That's the Same at Every Single Hospital Ultimate Training Every Hospital Billing I Don't Know Either It It's It's It's Really Kind of Fascinating Hey Before We Might Give Any Other Quick Takeaways from This Particular Study Rotates Just That This One Is Just so Impressive Because It Really Shows That the Way That We May Be Treating Cancers in General Is Wrong so I Talked to Some My Cancer.Friends of My Katie Put People in a Ketogenic Diet Greatly When the Do That No We Don't Do You Ever Use Fasting When Somebody Has Us and We've Discussed before That the Fasting Mimicking Diet Actually Has Been Shown to Improve The Effect of Chemo And Decrease the Amount of Side Effects but That's Still Not Being Implemented so Here Is One Example It Always Starts out As Animal Studies Are Which Is When Humans but I Think That This Is the First Step to Show Hey Proper Treatment of Cancer Is to Starve It Not to Just Dump a Bunch of Sugar on It Which Is What Were Kinda Doing Yeah Isn't It Interesting That Maybe Even When Your Body Is Trying to Recover from an Episode of Cancer Not Just When It's Chemo Induced but When People Begin to Lose Weight Everyone Immediately Becomes Concerned Possibly It's Sometimes the Body Just Knows What He Wants to Do And by Starving These Tumors from the Circulating Glucose Is Its First Mechanism of Defense We've Got to Stop Feeding This Is Base Leads Rogue Cell Or Whatever It Is It Happens to Be Going Out Of Control Yeah… That I Think It's Faster Oh Did You See the Speaking Fascinated to See That That's California Man Was Awarded $80 Million Because He Had 56 Acres That He Was Using Roundup for Decades $80 Million That Is so Wild That It so It's an Incredible That It It Took This Long to Find out about and We Were Spraying It on Everything so We've Got Dividing up the Deck Stacked against You If You Got a Carcinogen on Your Food Chair and Then If You're Going to Take the Corn Fructose Which the Horn Was Sprayed Right Now We've Got a Double Whammy Going on Right There You I Can or When the First Big Move in a Big Push of the Non-GMO Foods This 90 Mode Foods That and I Was Really Rather Ignorant in Terms of What That Actually Meant And It Was Really Easy to Find Detractors from People Who Were Reporting That Movement like All They're Just They're Just Afraid They Were Doing New Technology in Food Development and Etc. so Much More Than That It Comes down to Protecting You and Yourself from Carcinogens Which Can't Taste You Can't Detect You Have No Idea You Have the Healthiest Person in the World Is Exercising Not Smoking Trying to Eat Right And While They Are Eating the Foods That They Trust Such As a Great Piece of Broccoli Vegetable Actually Consuming Glyphosate or Roundup In Their Food and They Get Sick That I Read Another Article Which Showed If You're Exposed to Round up on a Regular Basis You Have over a 41% Chance of Getting Lymphoma Hodgkin's Lymphoma I Don't Know Where They Got That That I Need to Find the Actual Article but in This Particular Study They Were Referencing Ups I Think That Was Used As a Type of Cancer That That Man Got And That's Why He Was Awarded This so Probably for a Follow-Up Episode Because What We Do Here Is Always Try to Speak into the Facts and Know That We Seen the Trend on Various Types of Cancers Including Lymphoma Have Been Increasing I Just Don't Have It on Hand That We Will Tackle That Probably in a Future Episode in Terms of the Non-GMO Versus GMO Roundup Life Estate Is or Has To Be Something to Though Because You Have the Lymphoma Belt in the United States Which Is Nebraska and Iowa Run from Agronomy and That's What University Breast Is so Good at Transplants Because They're One of the First Places to Do the Autologous Bone Rail Transport Because They Were Seen so Much Leukemia and Lymphoma And They Didn't Technically Everyone Said They Couldn't Explain They Didn't Know What It Was But It's the Same Thing Is Whenever They First Figured out the Black Lung Was Kind of the Problem In Minutes It's Really No Different EE No One Created the Industry to Make People Sick but Once People Began to Get Sick It's like What's the Acclamation Here Are Just Kind Crazy Everybody's Getting Sick and You Realize It's a Sit in the Air and You It's It's Really No Want This out to My Wife Comes Back in This Weekend and Dr. Robbie by the Way You're Gonna Deliver the News I'm Not Going to Write so He Leaves And so You Go through the Know Is Calico 5° of Separation You Denial Whatever What You Gonna Do Now Get Your Fair Share Is My Tell You That You Get Zero Liberty Anything but Your Kids And in the Lives of Things That Night I'm Laying in Bed and Talk about Having No Begin Being the Religious Was out Born and Raised in the Church and Hence Have a Pretty Good Religious Background but I'm Pitched at That Point I'm Having a Fight with God More Argument The Stages Brother and This Isn't Happening to Me And I've Got a Wife I Get Three Kids If I'm Good – I'm Okay Back but I'm Not Okay Leaving Them Alone Without Needed to Take Care Of My New Summer Influence Rest Their Life And the Time Marcus Was Third Grade and Then EAN Where like to Fit in Sync with Their Six Grade Yeah They're Not Rulon I'm And Some past Minimum Wrestling in Bed before Because I Can't Get Any Risk As I'm in so Much Pain Amount to Different Campaign I'm Fighting in Bed And, and I Asked the Doctor Early about Miracles Mistakes And I'm I'm Telling You since I'm Sitting Here Pam There's a Just Peace Washes over Me and I Was like I Got This Boot You Have To Worry about It Again from That Point on Never Thought about It Again No New That I Just Knew I Was Gonna Survive My Job Was Just to Sit Back and Let the Doctors Do What They Do Just Survive And I Never Had Another Doubt It Was Just Another Doubt When You Go to All Kinds of Different Emotions but at That Point I Can Pinpoint That Particular Night In That Particular Time Lay in My Bed That Just This Piece Just Should Just Watch the So It Was a Journey so Obviously Held That the Doctors There Was Intervention There Was Medicine Use What Was the First Step and Then Going through That Kind of Schedule Well after He Told Me Also Dine Six Months He Says Renders and Chemo Which One Part of the Original Plan And He Says If the Cancer and Get Your First Chemo Might Take You to His Close like in the Death And so Started at about 240 Pounds And Ended up at Hundred and 87 Pounds Not Hear My Head Not Eyebrow Not on Those Here Nothing to My Butt Crack Nothing Great I Got a Great Plus Track Story I'll Tell You What I Think Is Interesting It's like I Can't See Any Hair Appear Honey Get over Here and Check It Check It You Opened It up so I Got a the Story Them so Now They Get You up to Rehab Right and You Get Move in and and Running It through One of My Jobs Was to Get up Just Walked to the Nurses Station and Back And I Got This Walk and I Get This Go We Haven't Got a Nobel Drama so Don't Fall down And His Name's Alex Left That Matters but Some Walking a Little Bit And I Get a Nurse Station Come Back Think of Had a Good Day Chemo Start to Sit in This Is Going on for Several Weeks Now Now I'm Bald In Almost All My Eyebrows Nothing Else, but Record Showed That Just Run the Story Anyway so I'm Plugging along with This Little Walker and I'm Sweat Its Work And so His Squeak Squeak Squeak Is a Bad Food You Gotta Stop The Guy Gets New Tennis Shoes or Something to Those at the Time No Hearings All Messed up And so That Was Just Really Driving Me Crazy so That You Stop It's Not May Misuse Arts Week and That Is Not Me so Just Stop He Stopped and I Don't Squeak We And Alex That You Know It's Not Me Markets Coming Out Of the Words Come from Is Not Me Maybe It's the Walker That Is Not the Walker Alex to Stop so He Lets Go And We Schooley and a Wooden Walker so at This Point I Am Not Weight-Bearing on That, My Right Leg at That Point What It Happened I Had Worked up Just Enough of Us Went up That In My Butt Crack Every Time I Walked He Would Just Go So Now I Go through All This Every Stop Looking around and so Now I Know That Every Time That I Was Going to Rehab I Was in a Walking Pillow Squeaked That's When I Knew That I Had Accomplished My Goal Don't Use Workup Enough to Wash with Sweat Now Get the Squeak Going and It Was Just the Funniest Thing That I Got a Bazillion Just Hilarious Stories Out Of All This Have a Real Serious Situation but There's a There's A Lot Of Humor in It and You Have Some Humor Chair Otherwise You Know the Doctor Really Said If You Don't Have Some A Positive Attitude about Stuff and Support Your Family and I Completely Believe That Because There's so Many Things in Our Brain We Don't Know That the Brain Does Leases or Controls in You Being You Guys Mean the Doctors Will Have All That Knowledge Young at All, Intellectual Me What I'm Trying to Wrap My Brain around Is When Your Brain Said No We Got This What Did Something I Mean There's Epigenetic's Going on When No I Got This Does That Change Something in Your Body That Allows You To Have a Better Chance of Surviving a Cancer That Kills a Mindset Has To Matter Hat on It Months It's Been a Big Think about Using Somebody in the Office in the Head They Walk around Get That Permanent Frown on Her Face No They're Just Negative All the Time and They Got Those of People Walk around or Just Bouncing off the Water Happy and You Can't Tell Why Is That Is That Genetics Is That Something in Your Life Is It Just Your Attitude What Is It Your Your Physical Appearance Turns into What You're Your Attitude Becomes and If a Negative Note That the Frown on My Face Than You Can See the Body Language That Best Personality That You Become so the Survival Piece I Think Is Is A Lot Of It Is Mental and It's a Battle and If You Decide At Some Point I'm Going with This Then You Can Whip It I Can Tell You That Story but I Could Also Mean There Will Be Another Thousand Stories out There the People Didn't Survive How Do You Know I Remember after It Has a Good While after You Finished Everything You Came up with a Slogan I Think You Started to Incorporate Will Get to It Later but It Was Your Getting What You're Getting Because You've Been Giving What You Been Giving Right And That Can Go Back to Your Attitude Really in Anything Right It's That's Funny I Stole This from Zig Ziglar I Wish I Could Say I Invented or Kept It but It Wallace I Was Gonna Let You Float within the 21 When Her Water, Carried My Wife Work Foreman and Brought Home All the Tapes and so on Wasn't to Home and I Thought Just That's Just so Appropriate Because If You Give a Bad Attitude You Can Get a Bad Attitude and Return And I've Just Goofed around in Different Settings Where People Can Get into a Situation Were A Lot Of Negative Gossip Producing All the Nonsense on Social Media and in the Talking Heads in the News and the Media Nowadays You Going to Setting and Thereby Can Be Fixated on a Particular Item Have This Negative Attitude and You Just Bring One Person in There and You Start Lacing in the Loop with a Positive Attitude and You Watch the Whole Dynamics of the Room Change yet and It's Kinda Interesting Just Somebody's in the Coming Change in Attitude and Works the Same Way yet I Just Know Where to Listen or Ask Might so That's a Big Long Name for the Cancer but It's a Type of Bone Cancer but Is It That Is There Any Other Way to Describe It He's Asking If There Is Any Other Way to Scratch I Have yet Forgot What I Thought As I Have Found Art but That Is Any Other Way to Describe That Type of Bone Cancer Mark The Lie We Had a Listener Who Is Written in and Wanted to Know Better That Long Night – GD Differentiated Congress or, Yeah Indeed Differentiated You Can Convert Sarcoma Condo Sarcomas the Common Name for It but Because It's Special The Differentiated Gallic Alec up and I'll Just Text a Link Back to Them through Spiny and yet It's a It's It's Rare It Say There's Really No Other Way to Describe It Other Than You've Got This Cancer That's Crossing over between the Cartilage in the Bone and This Is Forming The Cancer That's Coming to the End of the Pelvis like That The Edges Sounds While I Equate Just Give Us a Rundown and Then of What the Activities What You Had to Do I Know They Had to Do Chemo You Had Your Surgery So Yeah so We Had 19 Our Own Record of Good Story in This So You Know Is Doctors Going for Any Kind of Surgery They Give You the Purple Pen Right Operate on the Right Knee and so As the Patient Number Right Now No Make a Mark on My Knee Right Knee So When You Go and You Don't Screw up and Mark the Light on the Left So the Plastic Surgeon Guy Comes in and He Still Me All That Were Gonna Do And They Were Going to Take 6 Cm Out Of the Middle of My Stomach All the Way down Past My Bellybutton up Got a Whole Brand-New Bellybutton by the Way And There Were No since This Backup Okay and Their Rent Their Creighton Flaps If You Think about Taking a Big Jump Folgers Coffee Cup Put Record Your Pelvis and Pushing It Always through Your Body Everything That Went into That Coffee Cup Ended up in the Trashcan Okay so You Got a Cavity There Now What Are You Going to Do so They Were Taken the 6 Cm Out Of My Lab to Put into This Flap down Here to Keep My Insides from Falling up the Backside These Pointers Right Going Right Drawing and the So I Took That Purple Pen and I Said Dr. Reese Make Sure You Leave Me a Sixpack Abs on My Stomach I've Never Had a Sixpack Abs I Thought That Was the Only Chance I Was Ever to Get It and He Did a Pretty Dang Good Job But The Orthopedic Lady Worked for 15 Hours Straight And in the Plastics Guided a Four Hour Surgery on Same Day on the Same Setting And so 19 Hours Totals, It's Amazing Crazy That Is a Long Surgery Which Is I Mean Just Absolutely Incredible Because A Lot Of Times We Talked about Where Medicine Fails but Certainly You and I Talked about That True I Feel like Medicine Could Be Doing a Better Job For Instance Controlling Diet Right Then We Have That 15 Hours Surgery That Is Incredible This Is Where It's Definitely Succeeding Yes Well You Guys There's a Reason Why They Call It You Practice Medicine Because There Is Little Perfection in It Because You're Operating on Human Body Which Is Imperfect to Begin with Right And so And We Talked a Bit Earlier How Went from from One Dr. Trying to Chase down a Diagnosis and I Feel Fairly Fortunate That Each Doctor Said I've Tried I've Made an Attempt and I'm in Have To Send You to Somebody Else and so I Kept It Referred over and over and over It Might've Been a Frustrating Situation but in Reality the Doctors Practicing What He Knows And's Finally Stops and Says I Think There's Somebody Better To Help with Your Diagnosis or Help Push You down the Track Where You Need to Be so Appreciated That That They Weren't so Egotistical That Said I Got This in the Switch Problem Is in and Sit Me down You the Wrong Path so It Was Kind of a Neat Progression That See How the Physician Community Just They Work Together Come up with Right Diagnosis at the End of the Day So Then What Were the Were There Any Other Foreign Bodies Any Other Animal Parts That Maybe You're Sporting Right Now That Didn't Just Belong to You Well So I Have Somebody Else's Pelvis and Me Okay and I Don't Know Are You Going on Animal Parts but While I'm Here Here about a Man Not Really Sure so the Good the Joke Is That They Were Looking for Similar Pelvis Same Shape Same Size the Telegraph You Know of Cadaver Bone to Bone And the Want to Find Something And They Finally Find It in the Comments Aren't We Can Do Surgery on This Particular Day Now You Don't Have a Whole Lot of Female Orthopedist Right And the Lady That's down at MD Anderson Is a Female And so I Thought That Was a Little Unusual And I in My Day Job I Do with Physicians All over the Country And so That's a Little in Common So I Go to the MD Anderson Website Liquor up And It's Black Lady Which Makes It Even More Uncommon And When You Meet Her You Go Oh My Gosh You Are Perfect for This Job You Are the Right Person She Is a Freak and Ball Buster and She Always Had All These Other Physicians Following Her around Because She Was Kind of a Pioneer in This Particular Type of Procedure so She Had Called And Finally Found the Bone Mrs. Art Room Schedule Surgery for This Particular Day How Does She Do That like Can't Even Begin Looking for a Pelvis It's Going to Fit In a Could Ever There's a Bone Bank And Oh so You – and Then Donate Your Organs and the and This Is up California and This Is Another Funny Story That I'm at a Conference That I Go to Once You're Always with You Guys In All These Vendors Are in the Know in the Exhibit Hall And I'm Talking about My Story It to This One Guy Nieces Where Did You Get Treatment Sit down in Houston in the Engine Just When Did You Do That Is It in July 2010 I Think I Know about You Simply Mean Sidwell My Wife Works at the at the the Bone Donor Place Whatever It Is Where They Freeze All the Stuff and She Was Working Going to Bone after Bone after Bone to Try to Find a Picture When It Was This Size and Had to Go to Houston and Bob Baugh And*The Chief I Was Least Found She Was Looking for Shoes As It Will This You Know Anything about the Person That I Got It from And She Says Yeah 300 Pound Black Lady So I Thought I Got This Black Doctor Working on Me I Got This Black Bone in Me and I'm Have a Soul When I Come out Here You Do Dance Better No I Do Not Either to Help Me up Here But I Forget What Your Original Question Was about Diverted into the Wrong Snow We Were Just Talking My Animal Yeah We Just Just the Different Different Graphs That You You Had to Use Mean Here's Surgery Although It We Already Know That It's Long There's There's a Process to It Is a Process to the Chemo There Was a You Had the Best Attitude but It Was Still Work but I Can Still Remember That the Months and Months of of Watching You Show up Tell Your Kids Athletic Events and Games Try to Pull the Truck As Close As You Could to the Football Field You Said You Could Watch and Participate In Family Activity and Every Time I Stop by to See You He Did All You Could to Smile and I Knew That It Was Difficult But You Made It through… Told and Believe Miracles Mistakes Not I Think I'm a Walking Living Breathing Miracle You Don't Ever Take a Single Day for Granite Because If You Have yet Sit and Think about It for Second Get Your Affairs in Order Get Six Months to Live I Think That Would Change Your Life a Little Bit The Things That You Would Miss Definitely so It Just Enhances Your Attitude There Is a Great Day Rated below When You Got to the End Of Basically Felt Okay We Are in the Clear Now We Are Now Are Counting Months an Hour to Count Years of Mark's Survival Time What Was the Turnaround Said Okay We've We Got to the End of What Were Going to Do with You What Was That Day like and Then How Did You and Susan Then Susan's Wife Is His Wife's Name by the Way Has You and Susan Then Began to Get into the Frame Set of Okay We Are Now Moving on with Our Life Everyday's a Great Day And Then Sending Our Accounting up and Yelled Me to a Year Then Is Alluded to Earlier You Made It to Five Years an Hour Already Little over Seven Right So What Was It like No One Halyards This July Night 19th 98 so I Was off the Year What Was It like to to Get to the End of Whatever Therapy That What's so I Mentioned before I Start out 240 Pounds How Is It Jim at Hundred 87 Pounds Indicator Where We Live They Have This I Didn't Have Any Idea but Had at the Time There's a Service That Would Flock Cancer Patients to and from Houston for Free Guy Would Take Any Money If You Driven to Houston It's Not the Most Scenic Drive from Dallas-Fort Worth to Houston Is, Beating Long to Yeah So He Put You in a Plain Little Private Plane to Fly and Drop You off a Millionaire Take Unicorn Delivery to the Hospital and Then Come and Pick You up When You're Done Instead of Being a Five or 6 Hour Dr. and then up in an hour and 1/2 flight which was Fantastic So to Start the Process I Was in Pretty Good Shape Other Than a King Physically Move Mentally I'm Okay But by the End of the Process Nine Months Later Shriveled Withered Enough That I Can't Physically Get Out Of Their Plane And Susan Had to Call Somebody in Town to Come Pick Me up Physically Pick Me up Put Me in My Car Because I Couldn't Do It Myself And I Member Were Driving Home And Just Exhausted And Grind and Say I Can't Do This Anymore Unfinished and He Said Either the Cancer to Get Your Chemo Going Get You At That Point I Was Done of the Chemo so We Call Them Safe Were Done And so Think with That Tortured You Enough That's Reasonable We Have Got to Finish That Story in the Next Half Hour and Then We'll Talk a Little Bit about That Tell Me Statistics Many Survivors Do We Have No Who Else Is like News out There I Get Nothing They Could Be Grim Nothing You Know When I Don't Talk about That Which Have a Good Attitude We Could Move Forward Right So It's Every Month Asking the Same Question Back down Houston Finally Had Your Two Rollaround Same Questions Same Story Give Me the Same Answers Showers and a Great Attitude about Improbable Your Three Rolls around And or the Statistics And He Finally Coughs up That We Gotta Have People You Can Have a Data Backup Patient Right Now We Got a Bunch of Patient Statistically like You Tell Me Where a Man How Many of My Mother Would Get 455 Patients in Our Database And I'm Thinking I Am Not Sure That's a Statistical Analysis Enough of the Sample Size for Statistical Analysis May Be so Mean Spirit Better Than Nothing Sure but That's Only Give Me at That Point so Your Four Rolls around And I'm Beat Them up Again Whether Stats Only People like Me except Her And Get Better and Put on Weight Grumble Her Back The One Closer to Normal Aside from I Don't Have a Groin Muscle and Half of the Hamstring Muscle In Somebody Else's Pelvis and We Can so It… I've Got Some Limitations in the Things That I Physically That I Can Do And Give Many Statistics Year for He Finally Says Will You Are the Only Patient That We Have Had That Hasn't Had a Reoccurrence In the It within Four Years out Organs As They Go on to You Can't There's More and We Can't Take out and That's It You Your Done Lights out So He Says You're the Only Case That We Have That Has Had a Reoccurrence of the for Your Mark Five Years Rolled around I Give Him the Same Questions And He's Pretty Excited That Point And He Says You Know I Think I Found the Secret Elixir to Solve This Problem He Lost His Brother to This Type of Cancer so He's, Dedicated His Life to Solving the Problem Whoa And He Says That I Think I Want to Go from 0% Success Rate To 20% So Go Seem the Following Year and How's All That Going Were the Stats Not until Manning and He Says He Is Buried I Don't Use Were Depressed but He's Not It's Jovial and As Happy As He Has Been Because He It's What He's Doing Now What He Did on Me Is Not Working on Other Patients so He Where He Thought He Had Found Some Kind of Cure to Help Some People It Had Worked so at That Point He Said We Still Have Any Documented Survivor And I'm Now at Nine Years of Be Nine Years of Some And so for Lack of And One Was Living There Anybody with This Type of Cancer They Get Funneled to MD Anderson to Take Well It's Rare Enough That I Don't Know That Everybody You Know Can Identify the Particular Type of Cancer and They End up at Anderson Sure You Know That I Feel Fortunate Enough That I Had Doctors That Said Well You Got Something's Kinda Weird Here and I Think You Need to Go on Those Centers of Excellence So My Mom Spent Middle Years Go on the MD Anderson and I Had Experience That in the Care That They Gave You There's so That's First Place I'm Going But There's Other Places in the Country That These Guys These Researchers Shared Information Back and Forth I'm Not Saying That the Dr. Robbie Had 455 Patients of His Own Don't Hate They've Collected This from from Other Clinics or Other Centers of Excellence and Greatest Database and Sharon Research So You Were Patient Number One To Make It to the Five Year Survival Mark and I Did Not See Him in January and Still Go Back Every Year But I Didn't Get Him on the Schedule So the Orthopedic Lady but This December Want to Go Back I Will Make Sure I Have Him on Schedule so I Can Give Him One More Time Right Where the Stats We Also like Me Is There Anybody Else out There That's That Surviving How Are You Doing to Your Cretin The New Elixir Saul Somebody Else's Problem It's Crazy but That's Just like When You Are down to Your Last Dollar You Don't Know How You're Going to Get Out Of the Casino And You Going to Put It on the Table and Hopefully Hit Hard Eight or Something like That so That She Could Buy the The Flight Home That Is Exactly What I Was Thinking throughout the Whole Story Yes They Can Blackjack the Whole Time That's All I Mean That's That's All and Its Outlets Actually It's Craps but so March I Whenever You Talked about the Flights down to Houston This Whole Journey Inspired You to Take up a Completely New Hobby You Still Have Your Other Job Where You Still Deal with the Orthopedists and That's Obviously Something That You've Done Well in Your Own Entrepreneurial Spirit Etc. but You Took up a Completely Different Line of Hobbies And Wanted to Tell Us Little Bit about That Well so the Guy That Runs This Nonprofit Indicator Kept Busting My Chops Marketing Learn How to Fly Needle Half-Life And Off-Line Looks like A Lot Of Fun Theoretically at Coming That Looks, Your Fighter Pilot Doing All That Stuff but When You Actually Watch What They Go through and What They Do and What They Have To Know and Learn I'm the Guy That Wants to Put the Key in the Car and Just Go Right I Don't Know All the Details and All That Other Stuff Is Just One Draft Just Want to Go and Watch Him and All the Stuff That He Does Fine so There's No Way So I Mentioned Earlier That He Wouldn't Take Any of My Money So the Only Way That I Could Give to Him Because What He Gave to Me Didn't You Get Good or Given Which Given I Decided to Volunteer They Do a Charity Bicycle Race Every Year in August a Week or so before Hotter Than Hell And We Have People to Come from All We Had Somebody from Czechoslovakia and Australia with People from All the World That Show up This By Chance And Then End up in Modern Hill in Wichita Falls Which Is Kind of a Cool Ride so These People Arrived in Sandman This Is A Lot Harder And Harder Than Help Is How to Enhance Flat You Have Some Hills to But It's Pretty Good You're Right in the Trees and on the Country and It's a Little Bit Different Anyway so I Volunteer My Time for This Bicycle Rally And of Course He's Given Me the Mark Geller How Fine This is a wonderful and rich conversation that if you call yourself a Pilates teacher you DON'T WANT TO MISS. It's an iconic and critical dialogue with one of the teachers who has not only been trail blazing within the industry for 30 years, but is and has been deeply invested in understanding the Pilates system in all of it's power and uniqueness. If you're not a Pilates teacher but a movement teacher of ANY KIND -- or a Pilates enthusiast -- this is one of those conversations that will give you perspective on both how to go deeper into the method or modality you do teach, how to stay curious and committed to a personal path in movement, and give you lots of wonderful perspectives on movement and teaching in and of themselves. It's long and it's WORTH IT.Listen. Explore. Get quiet. Take deep breaths and GET CURIOUS...And SHARE.James: "When you read my piece, what did you read? Can you talk to me abut how that piece land with you?"Amy: "I just got very inspired and then I read the article and I thought here's how I've always seen it, or not always seen it, I think. The first few years of my career I didn't even know there was this conversation...You know. You're educated the way you're educated. You come into, in this case, Pilates in whatever door you've entered. I've always just felt exceedingly grateful and sheer lucky that I started with Romana. And I knew nothing else until many years later when I was like, oh, there's all of these other people doing Pilates and it doesn't look like what Romana taught me necessarily.'So over the many years I've been trying to, because it's just my way, define what it is that's so unique about the system of Pilates versus a lot of exercises done on Pilates equipment, many of which are also very good. But what's the distinction of the system: the order, the sequence, the equipment being correct, the fact that all of the exercises are whole body. There's a uniqueness to the full design of the system and I think for so many years we've been standing for THAT out in kind of the more contemporary world; being the only classical people to attend the PMA until very recently. So many years ago I knew I was going to have to figure out for myself what is this thing?!Because I could speak my truth at a PMA but there were lots of people who had very different truths. So i had to get to a place where I was very clear for myself, for me personally, what this thing was and how I'd be able to stand with deep roots when I spoke about it in the face of so many other opinions and perspectives and even the knowledge that people had about what was good and what wasn't good to do in movement.I long ago started this conversation with myself, and it was just another opportunity when I read your article to try to put it into words again."About AmyAmy with her sister Rachel opened the Pilates Center in Boulder, CO, more than 25 years ago and have been leaders in the industry for nearly as long. Amy studied Pilates at the Pilates Studio in NYC and was trained by Romana Kryzanowska.Learn more about Amy and The Pilates Center HERE.WE ASKED:If you were a superhero in your field what would your superhero name be?Mind/Body ReaderWhat inspired you to take the leap into the work you're currently doing? Having to figure our how "classical" Pilates was healthy despite what seemed to be tremendous opposition to that idea. I had to take a long, deep journey to be able to understand it for myself and not just spout jargon, etc. How would you describe your teaching self?Inquisitive and unafraid to speak up when inspired and sure about your ideas, but not necessarily a risk taker.Get-in-touch with Amy: The Pilates CenterOn Twitter - Amy Taylor AlpersOn Facebook - @pilatesboulderConnect with UsEmail us at thinkingpilatespodcast@gmail.com or use the form below.Like us on Facebook at The Thinking Pilates PodcastLeave us a review on iTunesFollow us on SpotifyChantill – chantill@skillfulteaching.com + (707) 738-7951James – j.crader@evolvedbodystudio.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
There are serious problems with automated product feeds that nobody seems to want to tell you. So I'll tell you, because I don't want you to have serious problems with your online business! Be sure to Subscribe to the Show! Find much more TRUTH about ECommerce on my site. EPISODE TRANSCRIPT When you have a web site that sells products online, sometimes you come across Automated Product Feeds from drop shippers and other wholesalers. This means that your supplier automatically loads your web site with products, descriptions, prices, quantity available and so forth. These automated product feeds are updated on a regular basis so that you don’t have to manually add products, manage prices and descriptions, etc. For people who are new to online business, this looks like the Holy Grail of ease in product management. BUT, there are serious problems with automated product feeds that nobody seems to want to tell you. So I'll tell you, because I don't want you to have serious problems with your online business! THE FIRST PROBLEM is that people tend to take the ENTIRE product feed and put it on their web site. That often means hundreds or even thousands of products on a singe site. It also means products on that site will be unrelated to each other. For example, a drop shipping / wholesale product feed might carry everything from sporting goods to jewelry to clocks to baby buggies. That’s really bad. Why? Because a web site that has more than one specific product line on it is next to impossible to get ranked in Google (the most important search engine) or any other search engine. These days, search engines look for web sites that tell one story about one thing. If you’re going to sell baby buggies, you need to sell ONLY baby buggies on your site. If you’re going to sell sporting goods, pick ONE type of sporting goods product (baseball bats, for example) and sell only that. If you mix products that a search engine sees as unrelated to each other, you have far too wide a mix of keywords for a search engine to rank you well for any ONE set of keywords, and nobody will ever find your site. If nobody finds your site, no sales. THE SECOND PROBLEM is that automated product feeds give you the descriptions of the products along with all the other info they put on your site. That seems like a good thing, but for your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) it’s actually a bad thing. Manufacturer and wholesalers’ descriptions of products are almost always short and factual. For good SEO, and for good sales conversion, your product descriptions need to be personalized. They need to be very descriptive, contain the right SEO Keywords for that product and page, and give people a warm fuzzy that matches the overall look and personality of your site. When you simply take the descriptions directly from the automated product feeds and don’t re-write them to do all those things, you lose a very important part of your SEO, and a very important part of your sales conversion (turning visitors into buyers). So let's say you use an automated product feed, and you DO re-write your descriptions to be both more SEO friendly and conversion friendly. In a few days, that product feed is going to UPDATE, and it's going to RESET all your product descriptions back to the original text. In other words, it'll wipe out all your changes and you'll have to do it all again. And then AGAIN in a few more days when the feed updates again...well, you get the picture. For these reasons, there's simply no good reason to use automated product feeds of ANY KIND. Not for a small business. The big-box stores use them all the time, because the big-box stores do NOT need to personalize their product descriptions and rely on SEO. They rely on the power of their real-world BRANDS to bring in traffic. As a small business owner, you can't spend millions on real-world advertising, so you need every advantage you can get in the search engines. That means that your product descriptions become a huge part of your marketing, and automated product feeds will kill your SEO all day long. Most of the time, the things that SEEM the easiest in this business turn out to be the worst things you can do. Automated product feeds are a prime example. Learn LOTS more about ECommerce! With our new ElectroHypnoMentalephone, we can't go wrong in ANY KIND of Show production! Music by Fishbone, The Sultans of Ping, and The Rudy Schwartz Project; AMAZING new collage bits from The Large. All the rest is from the Ask Dr. Hal Show from Radio Valencia in San Francisco, a Feb. 22 episode with Rev. Ivan Stang as guest. Philo, Puz, and Vreedeez were also in the studio, but distracted by their drone-stalking of bystanders on the streets outside the studio. Their contributions came later in Hal's show, which will be heard on future Hours of Slack. In the meantime, unfortunately: THIS.
