Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows!   This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track!   Check out today's questions:    Christina: Dr. Cabral, thank you so much for all you do for our community. My question is about oral health and specifically the use of the 360 one-piece toothbrushes that take 30 seconds to clean the teeth (I.e. Autobrush). Do you think they are as effective as the sonic electric toothbrushes and what is your opinion on them? Additionally, one can choose the fluoride free toothpaste versions, but they require a foaming agent to work. I like the fact that these toothbrushes require less time overall and seem to clean all the teeth, but am a little concerned about the foaming toothpaste that are required for them to wok. Thank you!      Barbara: What is the 12,000 FU that you referred to in your post.     Tricia: Hi Dr. Cabral - I'm trying to figure out if I should take your berberine or daily gluco support. Can you please explain the difference, and which one might be better for a 56-year-old female that does struggle to keep weight off and balance blood sugar. I'm not diabetic but I watch it closely. Thank you!      Alex: Hi Dr. Cabral, I am a 37-year-old female diagnosed with JAK2-positive essential thrombocythemia five years ago. My diagnosis followed after an initial finding of iron deficiency. It was confirmed through a bone biopsy. I have recently started following your show and am focused on finding the root cause. I would like to avoid progressing to chemotherapy medications if at all possible. To manage inflammation and support detoxification, I maintain an anti-inflammatory diet, exercise at least five days a week, use a sauna, and take various supplements. My biggest symptom with this disease is fatigue. Could you point me in the right direction of finding the root cause and help lowering my platelet count? Thank you! Alex      Samantha: Hi Dr Cabral, I went into an adrenal crisis in 2023 and was diagnosed with Primary Addison disease and hashimotos. I also have undifferentiated connective tissue disease. I take steroids and thyroid mediation, and also work with an N.D. for recurring EBV, h pylori, and candida. I have reduced the hashimotos antibodies drastically and have hope to eventually go into remission, but my question is, is it possible to heal or go into remission with Primary Addison disease and not be dependent on steroids? Or is it true that with primary Addison disease, the adrenals are "toast?" Though I have reduced the hashimotos antibodies, the 21-hydroxlase Addison antibody is still present. Would love any tips or suggestions. What if the foods you love most—the ones tied to family, culture, and comfort—could also help you heal?In this powerful and deeply personal conversation, Rip sits down with Javant Benton, creator of Healthy Vegan Eating and author of Make Your Own, to talk about food, family legacy, self-love, and breaking generational cycles of disease.Javant shares how a frightening health wake-up—pre-diabetes, pre-hypertension, and a suspected lymphoma diagnosis—forced him to confront the way he was eating and living. What followed was a slow, intentional journey through paleo, pescatarian, and ultimately whole-food, plant-based nutrition—guided by research, lived experience, and mentors like Joel Fuhrman, who wrote the foreword to Javant's book.Together, Rip and Javant explore how empowerment—not deprivation—is the key to lasting change. From oil-free Southern classics to protein-rich plant meals, Javant proves you don't have to give up the foods you love—you just have to make your own. This episode is equal parts inspiration, practical nutrition, and permission to value your health—even when it means going against the grain.Key TakeawaysHealth often changes after a crisis—but it doesn't have to. Javant's story shows how fear can be a catalyst, but education and self-worth sustain long-term change. You don't need perfection—just progress. Javant's journey unfolded over years, not weeks, proving that incremental change is both realistic and powerful.“Make Your Own” is about autonomy and empowerment. By recreating familiar foods with whole, plant-based ingredients, people can heal without feeling deprived.Self-love is a nutritional strategy. Choosing differently—especially in social settings—requires confidence, boundaries, and valuing long-term health over short-term approval.Flavor is the gateway drug to better eating. In this episode of Mayim Bialik's Breakdown, Michio Kaku — legendary cofounder of string field theory and author of Quantum Supremacy — breaks down the quantum revolution that's about to change everything. What is quantum computing, really? Dr. Kaku explains its evolution from wild theory to world-altering reality — and how it could soon solve problems today's supercomputers can't even touch. But that's just the beginning. He reveals how quantum computing could: - Extend human longevity and transform medicine - Track dangerous asteroids before they strike - Accelerate the search for extraterrestrial life - Predict possible planetary catastrophes - Help us study parallel universes Are black holes actually gateways to interstellar travel? Dr. Kaku explains the shocking physics that suggests they might not just destroy matter, but connect distant regions of space-time. Are we alone in the universe? He explains why he believes we are not, and how string theory may one day prove the existence of a multiverse. Artificial Intelligence: Humanity's Greatest Tool — or Its Biggest Threat? Dr. Kaku shares why advancing AI deeply concerns him, why fighting AI may be the wrong strategy, and why he believes we may eventually need to merge with it instead. Could AI and robots become our partners in space exploration? Will artificial intelligence ever achieve consciousness? What would physically merging with technology actually look like? And what safeguards must we build before that future arrives? Plus: Why he predicts we may see more “3I/ATLAS”-type interstellar comets entering our solar system, and what that means for Earth. Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike here. Today I talk about the connection between deliverance and healing in the New Testament, where we often see Jesus healing sickness and casting out demons as part of the same work of restoring people. In passages like Luke 13:11–16 and Acts 10:38 we see that some suffering was connected to spiritual oppression, reminding us that the battle against evil can affect both body and soul. Reflecting on this, and referencing Beanie Carmichael's book, I wonder whether some of the struggles and diseases we face today may also have a spiritual dimension that we sometimes overlook.

But what exactly does it do? And just as importantly — what does it not do? In this episode, I break down: • How MRI-guided Focused Ultrasound works • What part of the brain is targeted • Who may be an appropriate candidate • How it compares to Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) • The risks, limitations, and realistic expectations Focused ultrasound is not a cure for Parkinson's. #407 In this episode, Guy welcomed Gabi Kovalenko to discuss the evolution of consciousness, the human biofield, and humanity's choices between organic autonomy and technology dependence. Gabi described reality as entangled fields (electromagnetic, scalar, plasma) and says current solar activity, CMEs, and biophoton "plasmic" influx can dysregulate those without inner coherence, while supporting awakening, introspection, and integration for others. They contrast seeking external "false light" or comfort with using illumination to metabolize trauma and restore love-based coherence, emphasizing integrity between thoughts, feelings, and actions. Gabi warned of transhumanist "artificial code" as a potential severing from soul/morphogenetic fields, while arguing coherent living can harmonize with higher DNA potential. They touched on felt support beyond the physical, retreats, her book "Falling Up," and her sessions and women's course. About Gabi: Gabi Kovalenko is a transformational thought leader and modern philosopher with a pro-consciousness approach to personal development and mindful living. Gabi integrates principles of noetic science and positive psychology into her philosophy to shed light on the nexus of science and spirituality, revealing the power of consciousness and potentiality within all of life. Her approach revitalizes spiritual concepts by offering a refreshing take on the self-evident truth of universal order that connects people of all ages to their innate wisdom and purpose. Since an early age, she has demonstrated signs of divine wisdom speaking through her and has always been unique, original, and deeply philosophical. She perceives reality through the lens of higher consciousness, even in spite of her young age. These days, individuals like herself are often considered old souls, starseeds, or prodigies, but her humble personality doesn't like to identify with such labels. Gabi's passion lies in inspiring a fresh awareness of life by disarming limiting beliefs with self-awareness and igniting a paradigm shift towards joy, abundance, love, passion, and freedom to help an individual construct the inner world of their choosing and, in doing so, contribute to the formation of a better one for us all. Hear leading dermatologist Dr. E. James Song and patient advocate Ana Rinck share their perspectives on the use of biosimilars to manage psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. The use of biosimilars is growing with 24 currently on the market and more on the way for the treatment of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. What does this mean for you? Find out as we explore the use of biosimilars, the impact of interchangeability, what it's like switching to a biosimilar, and what questions to ask your health care provider with leading dermatologist and NPF Medical Board member Dr. E. James Song, Director of Clinical Research at Frontier Dermatology Partners, and patient advocate Ana Rinck who currently uses a biosimilar to treat her psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.   The intent of this episode is to offer an update on the use of biosimilars and to hear the experience of those who have used biosimilars to manage psoriatic disease. This episode is sponsored by Organon. Timestamps: (0:00) Intro to Psoriasis Uncovered and guest welcome to dermatologist Dr. E. James Song, Director of Clinical Research and Co-Chief Medical Officer, Frontier Dermatology, and patient advocate Ana Rinck, who presents her experience with using a biosimilar to treat psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.  (0:58) Definition of what is a biosimilar in comparison to a biologic which is also referred to as the original bio-originator or reference product.   (3:10) What biosimilars are available and how they are used. (4:35) The term interchangeable and what it means for use of a biosimilar. (5:46) Ana's diagnosis to treatment options starting with use of topicals to ultimately use of a biosimilar.  (7:57) Treatment discussion and choices when faced with diminishing effectiveness within a class of medications. Should a biosimilar be considered as an option?                                                                                                                                                                (9:50) Questions to consider when there's a change in treatment. (10:57) FDA announcement to simplify the development process for biosimilars and what that means for the future use of biosimilars. (13:55) What to consider when thinking of a biosimilar as a treatment option and where to find help when needed.     (14:53) The hope and equity of access that biosimilars represent is here for the appropriate individual. Key Takeaways: ·       A biosimilar is an FDA-approved biologic product that behaves and functions like a brand biologic treatment which is also called the reference product or bio-originator. There are no clinically meaningful differences between biosimilars and their reference product.  ·       The FDA has approved several biosimilars for the treatment of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Some have been identified as interchangeable which means a biosimilar could be substituted for a reference product without a health care provider's approval pending state legislative rules.    ·       Don't be afraid to ask questions or access resources to assist with preparing for a medication change should that change be initiated either by yourself, your healthcare provider, or your health insurance company.    Guest Bios:   E. James Song, M.D. is a nationally recognized dermatologist and clinical researcher who is also a Clinical Instructor at the University of Washington. Dr Song is recognized as a key opinion leader in treating psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. Send a textDisease mongering has transformed human body diversity into a medical crisis requiring pharmaceutical intervention. When Ray Moynihan wrote that "there's a lot of money to be made from telling healthy people they're sick," he exposed a corporate strategy that reaches its most devastating form in the creation of "ob*sity" as a disease. This wasn't accidental harm caused while trying to help people - this was intentional pathologization of natural human variation, funded by pharmaceutical companies and legitimized through corrupt alliances between industry, doctors, and supposed patient advocacy groups. In this episode, I expose how the disease creation itself causes harm separate from any treatment: social exclusion, healthcare denial, psychological trauma, economic exploitation, and the erosion of bodily autonomy. We created a disease whose only "treatment" doesn't work and causes the very harms we attribute to the disease. They didn't just gnaw away at our self-confidence—they gnawed away at our right to exist. Moynihan, Ray, Iona Heath, and David Henry. ‘Selling Sickness: The Pharmaceutical Industry and Disease Mongering'. Today on the podcast we'll be discussing Red Leaf Blotch a new invasive disease in California almond production. I want to offer my sincere apologies to listeners and to the Trouillas Lab for not getting this episode out promptly for maximum usefulness in the 2026 season. Although we are still in the red leaf blotch susceptibility window at the time of podcast airing – there's not currently any rain in the forecast. Disease management The disease has a long latent period of 35 to 40 days, so by the time symptoms are visible, the infection window has long passed. This makes early, preventive management the key to controlling the disease. Based on 2025 field trials and growers' experience in Spain, a three-spray program is recommended for orchards at risk. The first spray should be applied at petal fall (young leaflet emergence), followed by a second application two to three weeks later, and a third spray five to six weeks after petal fall if wet weather continues. These timings coincide with elevated inoculum levels of P. amygdalinum in orchards and a period of high leaf susceptibility to RLB. Similar timings for fungicide applications are used to manage other spring diseases like scab, shot hole, rust, and anthracnose, highlighting the need for an integrated approach to disease management in almond orchards.Research trials in 2025 indicated that the most effective products to control RLB included various mixed fungicides with FRAC groups 3 + 7 (e.g. difenoconazole + pydiflumetofen); 3 + 11 (e.g. difenoconazole + azoxystrobin or tebucnonazole + tryfloxystrobin); 7 + 11 (e.g. fluopyram + trifloxystrobin, fluxapyroxad + pyraclostrobin, or boscalid + pyraclostrobin); 7 + 12 (adepidyn + fludioxonil), and FRAC 3-triazoles (metconazole or flutriafol). Growers are advised to rotate modes of action and follow all resistance management and product label guidelines to prevent product failure over time. Cultural practices, focused on eliminating the primary inoculum of infected fallen leaves, also can help mitigate the disease. These consist of removing leaf litter or applying urea to accelerate its decomposition. However, such strategies are only effective when applied over a wide area. Fungicides applied during bloom and after symptoms are visible are not effective.2025 Fungicides, Bactericides, Biocontrols, and Natural Products for Deciduous Tree Fruit and Nut, Citrus, Strawberry, and Vine Crops in CaliforniaMention of a pesticide does not constitute a pesticide recommendation, merely the sharing of research results. True wellness isn't about chasing symptoms—it's about understanding the internal communication systems that allow the body to repair, adapt, and thrive. In this episode, Dr. Greg Jones is joined by Dr. Kathleen O'Neil-Smith, a Harvard-trained physician and pioneer in peptide therapy, to explore how peptides, mitochondria, and personalized medicine work together to support resilient, long-term health. As a founding board member of the International Peptide Society, Dr. Kathleen explains how small signaling proteins orchestrate large-scale healing by influencing cellular communication, inflammation, metabolic efficiency, and recovery. The conversation highlights why mitochondrial health sits at the foundation of longevity and how modern medicine often overlooks the body's innate capacity to heal.Moving beyond trends and surface-level protocols, Dr. Kathleen shares how peptide therapy integrates with hormones, gut health, nervous system balance, and lifestyle to create durable clinical outcomes. They also discuss why one-size-fits-all medicine consistently fails patients, and how clinicians can think more strategically about restoring resilience rather than suppressing symptoms.

Do you feel safe around other people? In this special off-script episode, Dr. Christian Gonzalez speaks straight from the heart and simplifies what truly matters: Health is an outward expression of your internal environment. If you are disconnected from yourself, if your nervous system doesn't feel safe, if you contract around others, your body will compensate until it can't anymore. Disease is not random. It's a signal. A call to action. A reflection of long-standing disconnection from self and from community. In this episode, Dr. G breaks down: • Why nervous system safety is the foundation of all healing • How disconnection manifests as chronic stress and disease • The subtle “micro-deviations” that happen years before diagnosis • Why social anxiety is often a nervous system safety issue • How to retrain your body to feel safe around others • Why connection, not isolation, is the real longevity strategy • The one-week nervous system reset that can shift your physiology This isn't about fear. It's about coming home to your body. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by health advice, disconnected from yourself, or just plain exhausted by trying to “optimize” everything, this episode is your invitation to slow down. Let yourself pause, listen, and feel. True healing doesn't start in your head. It starts in your nervous system.  Timestamps: 0:00 - Intro 0:25 - Welcome to Heal Thyself: Why This Episode is Different 1:56 - Your Health Is a Reflection of Your Internal World 3:47 - Disease Is a Signal, Not a Sentence 5:21 - Everyone Has the Capacity to Feel Better 7:40 - Do You Feel Safe With Yourself? 9:59 - Do You Feel Safe Around Other People? 12:40 - How to Train Your Nervous System to Feel Safe 14:10 - Connection Is the Foundation of All Health 15:41 - The Most Embodied Version of You Learn more about your ad choices. The history of them, the strategic engineering of them, the mind-bending stats, the political lobbying and the money. Most people just assume Australia's addiction to the 'Reverse ATMs' is beyond reform... But today's guest has an idea. On this, our 316th Evolutionary Lens livestream, we discuss health, science, and the Cartesian crisis as it relates to global events. First: a new paper finds that infection tends to lead to greater frailty in older people. This reverses the causality of Terrain Theory of Disease (frailty of the body leads to greater susceptibility of infection), and also provides support for a prediction made by Bret and his co-author Debbie Ciszek in the unpublished, longer version of their reserve capacity paper from 2002. Then: what we are seeing on our personal media feeds does not make us eye-witnesses to anything—not necessarily. Plato's Cave of Mirrors means that we are all fed different media diets, and skills such as observation, discernment, and hypothesis generation, inherently fail when nobody can establish what is actually true. Recommendation: start comparing notes with other people as to what they are seeing, rather than what they think it means.*****Our sponsors:NOBS: NOBS is doing a nationwide rollout into 917 Target stores. https://teachhoops.com/ In the era of "Moneyball" basketball, it is easy to get buried under a mountain of data. However, for most high school and youth coaches, "Actionable Analytics" are the only ones that matter. You don't need a Ph.D. in statistics; you need to track the four or five metrics that have the highest correlation with winning. The "Granddaddy" of these is Effective Field Goal Percentage ($eFG%$). Unlike standard field goal percentage, $eFG%$ accounts for the fact that a three-point shot is worth 50% more than a two-point shot. If your team shoots 40% from three, your $eFG%$ is 60%—the same as shooting 60% from two. By tracking this, you can objectively prove to your players why "rhythm threes" and "rim finishes" are the lifeblood of your offense. Beyond shooting, you must master the "Four Factors" of Basketball Success, originally popularized by Dean Oliver. These four metrics typically account for about 95% of the variance in winning: Shooting ($eFG%$) – The most important factor (40% weight). Turnovers (TO%) – How often you give the ball away without a shot (25% weight). Rebounding (ORB%) – How many of your own misses you recover (20% weight). Free Throws (FT Rate) – How often you get to the line and make them (15% weight). If you "win" three out of these four categories in a game, your win probability is over 80%. In the mid-season January grind, use these factors to "Diagnose the Disease." If you are losing games despite shooting well, look at your TO%. Are you "beating yourselves" before the ball even hits the rim? Finally, don't ignore the "Culture Analytics" or "Hustle Stats." These are the metrics that don't always show up in a standard box score but drive your program's "Internal Engine." Track things like "Kills" (three consecutive defensive stops), Deflections, and "Paint Touches." A "Paint Touch"—whether via post-up or dribble drive—is one of the highest predictors of offensive efficiency because it collapses the defense and creates "Long-Closeout" opportunities for your shooters. Use your TeachHoops member calls to "audit" your stat-keeping: are you tracking "fluff," or are you tracking the behaviors that lead to "The W"? By turning the "invisible" into the "visible," you create a data-driven culture of accountability. uniQure is a business that develops gene therapies. uniQure's AMT-130 is currently in the headlines. This podcast episode attempts to present the Huntington's Disease community's arguments for why the FDA should work collaboratively to design a palatable drug trial. Last week the FDA told uniQure that AMT-130 would be subject to a double blind, Phase 3, randomized controlled study. While the scientific basis for that request is sound in most cases, the Huntington's Disease community argues that path is overly burdensome; perhaps impossible.
