In this powerful and timely episode of Ever Forward Radio, Chase sits down with Louisiana State Senator Patrick McMath, Chairman of the Senate Health and Welfare Committee, to discuss a growing national movement around children's health, school nutrition, and public policy reform. Senator McMath dives deep into his groundbreaking Senate Bill 14 (Act 463)—a first-of-its-kind initiative to limit artificial dyes, additives, and sweeteners in school meals, introduce QR code ingredient transparency, and improve the overall nutritional standards in Louisiana schools. What began as a personal journey to restore his family's health evolved into a statewide wellness movement—and a national example of how policy can reshape public health from the ground up. Together, Chase and Patrick explore the intersection of wellness, politics, and personal responsibility, how chaos can lead to reform, and why the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement is transforming how we think about food and children's well-being. ----- In this episode we discuss... 02:00 – Meet Senator Patrick McMath 04:45 – From Infrastructure to Health Care Reform 08:40 – Louisiana's Health Crisis 11:15 – A Personal Wake-Up Call: His Wife's Health Journey 13:45 – The Book That Changed Everything: End of Cravings 17:20 – From Family Health to Public Policy 20:00 – Children, Schools, and the MAHA Movement 27:20 – The “Maha Moms” and Grassroots Advocacy 33:00 – What SB 14 Actually Does 37:00 – Learning from Other States & Building Momentum 41:00 – Forcing Big Food to the Table 46:00 – Transparency, QR Codes, and What's Next 50:00 – The Economics of Healthy Change 54:30 – Good Chaos: Disrupting for Progress 59:10 – Profits vs. Public Health 1:05:00 – The SNAP Program and Coca-Cola's Pushback 1:10:00 – Public Engagement & The Power of the People 1:13:00 – How Podcasts Drive Change 1:17:00 – Rapid Fire: Prevention, Education, and Chronic Disease 1:19:30 – His Decade Wish: Eradicating Cancer & Autism's Rise 1:21:00 – Politics Meets Wellness 1:24:10 – Ever Forward ----- Episode resources: 20% off Flow and Serenity gummies with at https://www.CuredNutrition.com/everforward 15% off Coffee Booster with code CHASE at https://www.StrongCoffeeCompany.com FREE 3-day sample of MitoPure gummies with Urolithin A at https://www.Timeline.com/everforwardsample Watch and subscribe on YouTube Learn more at PatrickMcMath.com

We live in a culture obsessed with treating symptoms, weight gain, fatigue, high blood pressure, brain fog, poor sleep, as if each were an isolated problem. But what if these struggles aren't the problem at all? What if they're just the flashing check engine lights on the dashboard of your body, pointing to a deeper issue that's been hiding in plain sight: Metabolic Disease. In this episode, Dr. JC Doornick pulls back the curtain on why nearly every chronic health crisis in America today — from obesity and Type 2 diabetes to heart disease, hypertension, and even dementia — can be traced back to metabolic dysfunction. He explains how the healthcare industry profits from keeping us stuck in a never-ending cycle of pills, injections, and quick fixes, rather than empowering us to address the root cause upstream. You'll also learn about Metabolic Synchronization — a practical, upstream approach that helps realign the body and mind through five key foundations: Proper diet & nutrition Proper movement & muscle development Proper sleep Proper education & mental detox Proper community & support This episode is a wake-up call: the lights are flashing, and the choice is yours. Will you keep patching symptoms downstream, or will you finally pop the hood and reclaim control of your health, your mind, and your future?

In this episode, I dive into the complexities of autoimmunity and the gut-brain axis with Dr. Datis Kharrazian, one of the leading voices in functional medicine. What strikes me about our conversation is how he connects the dots between environment, genetics, and lifestyle, painting a clear picture of why autoimmune diseases are on the rise and why they're so difficult to treat. Dr. Kharrazian breaks down how and why the immune system malfunctions, and more importantly, how lifestyle adaptations can play a pivotal role in managing these conditions. Together, we explore the principles of functional medicine and how they reshape chronic disease care, while also looking at the latest insights into the gut microbiome, its impact on brain health, and the links to conditions like Alzheimer's and long COVID. This episode is packed with professional insights, practical takeaways, and a vision of how functional medicine can transform patient care in today's world. Key Takeaways: Autoimmunity occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the body's own tissues, with factors such as environmental exposure and genetic susceptibility being key contributors. Functional medicine prioritizes enhancing bodily functions rather than simply inhibiting disease symptoms, offering a promising approach for managing chronic diseases. Lifestyle factors like sleep, stress management, and exercise play a crucial role in managing autoimmune conditions and maintaining overall health. The gut-brain axis is integral to understanding and treating neurological conditions, with bidirectional communication between these systems influencing health outcomes. Precision diagnostics and individualized care models are essential for effective functional medicine practice, emphasizing the need for education in the field. Dr. Datis Kharrazian is a clinical research scientist, academic professor, and a functional medicine healthcare provider. He is an Associate Clinical Professor at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Dr. Kharrazian earned a PhD in Health Science with concentrations in immunology and toxicology, and a Doctor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences, and a Master of Medical Sciences degree in Clinical Investigation from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kharrazian completed his post-doctoral research training at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. He was a researcher at Harvard Medical School for seven years. Currently, he serves as the academic director of the Kharrazian Institute and the Academy of Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine. Exposing Big Food, Big Pharma, and the Path to True Health In this week's episode, Marcus, Melanie meet with Calley Means — entrepreneur, healthcare reform advocate, and co-founder of TrueMed. Calley has been making waves in the national conversation about health, nutrition, and the systems driving chronic disease. As a former consultant to some of the largest food and pharmaceutical companies in the world, Calley offers a rare insider's perspective on how financial incentives can prioritize profits over people. Now, through TrueMed, he's working to flip the script — helping Americans use tax-free health savings accounts to pay for food, exercise, wellness coaching, and other preventative health measures. Calley is also the co-author (with his sister) of the bestselling book Good Energy, which explores the connection between metabolism and health, and he's an investor in companies tackling metabolic health, mental health, and longevity. A graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Business School, Calley also co-founded Anomalie, a custom bridal brand later acquired by David's Bridal. In this powerful and eye-opening conversation, Calley shares: •How his insider view of Big Food and Big Pharma shaped his mission to reform healthcare •The shocking incentives that drive the chronic disease crisis in America •How TrueMed empowers people to use HSAs and FSAs for healthy living •The link between metabolism, mental health, and performance — and why it matters for every American •Why systemic change requires both personal responsibility and policy reform Whether you're a health professional, a parent trying to improve your family's nutrition, or simply curious about the future of healthcare, this episode will challenge assumptions and offer practical solutions. Don't miss this episode with Calley Means — a candid, informed, and inspiring discussion on how we can take back control of our health. In this episode you will hear: • [Marcus] We turned a vegan into a meat-eater. A vegetarian was working at our house and smelled [Mama Holly's Prime Rib] and said “What is that?” And I said that's prime rib and said “I'm a vegetarian.” I said “I don't know man. I think you might give this one a whirl.” (3:20) • Pharmaceutical is about 50% of TV advertising. (5:50) • The 2 ways you get researchers money is just research grants (that's their life blood) and direct bribes. (7:10) • Anxiety was created as a sub-category of medicine in the 1970s, explicitly by pharmaceutical companies who had Valium to sell. (8:21) • If you can make obesity a national standard and tell people it's not you fault and jab them for a lifetime – that's a profitable patient. (18:33) • 25% of women are on some kind of psychiatric drugs, That produces reoccurring appointments and prescriptions. (20:01) • A doctor is a medical drug doctor. They're a drug prescriber. Who made that rule? That's not how it is in other countries. (22:51) • [Marcus] If you tell yourself your body is a racecar, or a fighter jet, or a monster truck, what kind of fuel are you putting in that sucker? (36:40) • If you can get seed oils, processed sugar and processed grains out of you house, that gets you about 80% there [the single most important thing a household could do.] • I think people should be more scared. I think we should have apps and blood tests and doctors telling people “You're not gonna make it through your life to meet your grandkids.” (41:57) • [Farmers] have low prices, high input costs, more weather challenges, trade issues that aren't their fault. They're taking it from all fronts. (59:05) • The system is built for drugs, not medicine right now. Drugs are profitable, healing is not profitable. Thriving is not profitable. On this episode of Vitality Radio, Jared breaks down the hype around biohacking and shares why foundational health must always come first. He makes the case that biohacking only works when stacked on top of solid foundations. From his decades of experience, he explains how the body's innate intelligence depends on raw materials like vitamins, minerals, enzymes, etc., and why detoxification is essential for removing the roadblocks to healing. Jared outlines his foundational Vital 5 approach along with key detox strategies. You'll also hear how simple, no-cost practices such as sleep, sunlight, grounding, breathwork, and movement can be more impactful than expensive gadgets. While tools like red light therapy, cold plunges, and methylene blue have their place, they cannot replace the basic needs of the human body. If you've wondered whether to dive into the latest health trend or invest in the basics first, this episode will help you understand where to start for long-term results.Products:The Vital 5Back on TractParasite CleanseEndoCleanseLiverVitalityAdditional Information:#432: Your Parasite Cleansing User's Guide#258: Your Magnesium User's Guide#242: The Vital Five How To: Your User's Guide to Filling the Gaps in Your DietVisit the podcast website here: VitalityRadio.comYou can follow @vitalitynutritionbountiful and @vitalityradio on Instagram, or Vitality Radio and Vitality Nutrition on Facebook. Inflammation is the body's natural way of healing, but when it becomes chronic and hidden, it quietly drives many of today's most common health problems—heart disease, diabetes, dementia, cancer, autoimmune conditions, and more. Unlike the redness and swelling from a cut or sprain, this “silent inflammation” often goes unnoticed while slowly damaging tissues and speeding up aging. Modern life fuels the fire: processed foods, food additives, pollution, plastics, chronic stress, too much sitting, and poor sleep. The good news is inflammation can be calmed by simple daily choices—eating colorful whole foods like berries, leafy greens, beans, nuts, seeds, and omega-3 rich fish; adding herbs and spices like turmeric and cumin; moving regularly; practicing relaxation; and repairing gut health. Even small shifts, like climbing stairs, eating within a shorter window, or reducing sugar, can make a big difference. By lowering inflammation, the body finds balance again, opening the door to more energy, resilience, and healthy aging. In this episode, I discuss, along with Dr. Shilpa Ravella and Dr. David Furman, why it's important to be aware of systemic inflammation and how to address it. Dr. Ravella is a gastroenterologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. She is the author of A Silent Fire: The Story of Inflammation, Diet & Disease, which investigates inflammation—the hidden force at the heart of modern disease. Her writing has appeared in The Atlantic, New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, TIME, Slate, Discover, and USA Today, among other publications. Dr. David Furman is Associate Professor and Director of the Bioinformatics Core at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, as well as the Director of the Stanford 1000 Immunomes Project. He obtained his doctoral degree in immunology from the School of Medicine, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, for his work on cancer immune-surveillance. During his postdoctoral training at the Stanford School of Medicine, Dr. Furman focused on the application of advanced analytics to study the aging of the immune system in humans. He has published nearly thirty scientific articles in top-tier journals such as Cell, Nature Medicine, PNAS, The Lancet, and others. This episode is brought to you by BIOptimizers. After suffering for years with strange medical conditions, BRAD PITZELE was diagnosed with autoimmune arthritis in 2010 and malignant melanoma in 2014. Concerned that his treatments increased cancer risk, he began searching for a safer, more holistic path. Further testing revealed he also had Lyme disease and Bartonella. As his condition worsened—with debilitating fatigue, brain fog, and mobility loss—Brad sought alternatives. In 2016, his doctor recommended hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) or exercise with oxygen therapy (EWOT).Brad chose EWOT, but dissatisfied with what was on the market, he decided to build his own system. The results were transformative. Within a year, his strength, clarity, and energy returned. Seeing the improvement, Brad's doctor asked if he could make EWOT systems for others. That moment sparked the creation of One Thousand Roads, founded on the belief that healing should be effective, safe, and accessible. Today, Brad empowers others by sharing his firsthand experience with chronic illness and recovery. He helps people understand how EWOT works, why it can support healing from conditions such as Lyme disease, cancer, chronic fatigue, and autoimmune diseases, and how to integrate it safely and affordably into their wellness journey. We talk about: • The Role of Oxygen in Healing • EWOT: Oxygen from the Inside Out Oxygen as a Therapeutic Tool for Cancer, ChronicIllness & Detoxification Enhancing Cognitive Health, Reducing Inflammation& Reversing Aging with EWOT • How EWOT + Red Light Work Synergistically • Understanding How Red & Infrared Light Work, Support Healing & Create Multiplier Effects • Brad's Personal Recovery Story • How does our body use oxygen, and how does this change as we age? • What is EWOT, and how does it work? • What benefits can EWOT provide for those suffering from chronic illness? • How do EWOT and Red Light therapy complement each other to boost oxygen and energy for peak performance? • What is the science of Red Light therapy, how does it work, and what are the benefits? • How does oxygen therapy support healing in conditions like cancer, Lyme disease, detoxification, and improving sleep and mental clarity? • In what ways does oxygen help reduce inflammation and reverse aging at the cellular level? Many people struggle with chronic fatigue, autoimmune conditions, and exhaustion that no amount of sleep seems to cure. They've tried medications, supplements, therapy, and self-care practices, yet still find themselves needing daily naps just to function. They can't understand why their body seems to be working against them instead of healing, or why they feel so disconnected from the energy they once had. In this episode, you'll meet Kecia, whose story reveals what's possible when we finally address trauma where it lives - in the nervous system. After 30 years on medical disability and needing daily three-hour naps just to survive, Kecia was sleeping 16-18 hours daily and housebound for years. By age 25, autoimmune illness had taken her career as a respiratory therapist, her ability to hike, even basic tasks. After completing the Foundational Journey, something happened that might sound impossible - she went seven weeks without needing a single nap for the first time in decades. Her husband said she became "like the person I knew 30 years ago." This isn't about willpower or positive thinking. It's about understanding how unresolved attachment wounds show up as physical symptoms decades later, and why trauma healing requires addressing the nervous system directly. You'll hear more on: [3:30] Why Kecia never expected to live past 18 and how autoimmune disease changed everything for her by age 25 [8:00] The struggle to get medical validation and how one doctor's compassion literally changed her physiology [14:00] The shift that seemed impossible - seven weeks without daily naps after 30 years of needing them [16:00] What's actually happening in your body during chronic freeze and why extreme sleep needs make biological sense [19:00] How coming out of freeze brought back joy, energy, and the ability to experience life fully again [25:00] Why being praised for "resilience" can actually create stored trauma patterns in your body [29:00] Dr. Aimie's guidance on capacity management and energy investment for sustainable healing Whether you're personally dealing with chronic fatigue and autoimmune conditions that doctors can't fully explain, or you're a practitioner supporting clients with unexplained physical symptoms, this episode shows how addressing trauma at the nervous system level can create changes that seem impossible when we've been stuck for so long.
