This week we're replaying a classic episode where Steve and Yvonne interview Tracey Dellacona of Dellacona Law Firm, LLC (http://www.dellaconalaw.com/). Remember to rate and review GTP in iTunes: Click Here To Rate and Review Episode Details: Georgia trial lawyer and nurse Tracey Dellacona of Dellacona Law Firm, LLC shares how she strategically represented emergency room patient Ellen Wadsworth, whose misdiagnosed pain resulted in the amputation of both of her legs. On Thanksgiving Day in 2008, Ellen arrived at the hospital with severe pain in both of her legs and cold feet, which a physician's assistant -- after only a brief physical exam and vein testing -- determined to be cellulitis, a type of bacterial skin infection. Despite Ellen's inability to walk and pleas to be admitted to the hospital, the supervising doctor and physician's assistant sent her home with morphine. Hours later, Ellen returned to the emergency room after collapsing in her home, and it was discovered that she had arterial blockages in both of her lower legs. On December 4, 2008, Ellen underwent a double leg amputation below the knee. The defendants argued that Ellen's symptoms and physical conditions were entirely different at each emergency room visit and tried to place blame on Ellen's smoking and pre-existing medical conditions. In 2012, a Gwinnett County, Georgia jury found in favor of Ellen, awarding her $5 million in damages and charging the attending healthcare professionals and medical practice with ordinary negligence. I met Tatiana because of the Global Woman Club when she joined a speakers campaign and then realised that she also lives in Cyprus and here is what she says about herself: “The more you give the more comes back to you”. I know it sounds a bit cliché, but it is absolutely true. I give the following metaphor/analogy when I teach children about giving back: “ Imagine you have a big cup full of goodies: Good health, a lot of toys and clothes, cleverness, good at sports, pretty face, a lot of friends… and God gives more and more. Your cup now overflows and it spills out. What can you do? You can only give some to someone else whose cup is not full, so that you can keep the extra that God is giving you.” This is such a nice vivid picture and is the way I learned to act. If you have extra time, go help people, if you have extra clothes give some. If you have a good appearance, give a compliment. As an adult, I joined different NGO's and offer my time as much as I can. This is how I feel I show my gratitude to God for always filling my cup with goodies! My passion and my purpose in life is to help people (and lately ladies) achieve their goals. I believe we are all born with enormous inner strength. Through my skills as an NLP and RTT Practitioner and as a hypnotherapist, I can help my clients find this inner strength and create the life they dream! What I have come to realize through the years, while moving from different skills and industries, is that you should never feel stuck at where you started. Myself being an example: I started with a Business Administration Degree, then moved on and combined it with Interior Design. I then got educated on creating programs and educating children to empower them with important Life Skills. Then I moved on to be a certified NLP practitioner, and last but not least I became a certified RTT® Practitioner and Certified Hypnotherapist. My absolute conviction is that it is never too late to help people at any age, be what they always wanted to be. This is what gave me the drive to go onto these last two skills. I know now, that your results are linked to an imprint and to the beliefs that were created inside your subconscious mind from past experiences and to your present constant thoughts. The good news is that we can create or re-create your present status by changing that imprint, the beliefs and your thoughts. My personal experience due to my personal results are what drove me to this path of getting to know my deeper self. I am married to a wonderful husband and I have two great sons, and all three of them are my best supporters. I could not have made it through all these stages of my life without their true belief in me. Of course, my great belief in God and the continuous gratitude I feel for my great life, helped me surpass different challenges, and finally reaching the place I am now, a place I always belonged. And this is to help people.

Angela Bell is a highly accomplished woman and a mom. Working out ways to continue to be both despite societal biases and other stumbling blocks, taught her that moms experience a special brand of limiting beliefs and she's found ways to overcome them and to help others. Here's her story:"I have always been the type of person who likes to go after big goals. After successfully obtaining my Honours Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, I went on to get my Law Degree (JD) and my MBA from Western New England University. I passed the New York State Bar Exam and the Connecticut State Bar Exam, in the same sitting. After returning to Canada, I successfully grew my family's food manufacturing business from $200K in annual sales to $2.5M in annual sales in 5 years. And while all of that may sound impressive, it's not why I am here. I am here because I am also a mom to 2 beautiful kids, twins in fact. And when I had my twins, I was knee deep in growing the business. Having kids did not make my ambition disappear. I did not wake up the morning after thinking “huh, I think I want to stay home now and just blissfully raise my kids”. Not that there is anything wrong with that, it just wasn't me. But it seemed to be what society and everyone else thought I should do. This led to a lot of guilt and shame. I even passed on my chance to compete in the ITU Triathlon World Championships, because it felt wrong. After doing the work to overcome the mom guilt and shame associated with not fitting in to what “society” wants, I have made it my mission to help other moms do the same. I became an NLP Practitioner, Hypnotherapist and Life & Success Coach. Now I coach other moms. I help them get free of their limiting beliefs, release their “mom guilt and shame” and get comfortable going after their goals and being their best and highest self.I am now an award-winning mortgage agent, entrepreneur, author, business owner, mother and wife. I balance my personal and professional lives together by understanding that they are both important parts of living a happy life."

This week, your hosts Steve Lowry and Yvonne Godfrey interview Tracey Dellacona of Dellacona Law Firm, LLC (http://www.dellaconalaw.com/). As the CIO of Spotlight Asset Group,https://www.linkedin.com/in/shsissel/ ( Shana Sissel) oversees all aspects of the investment platform ranging from overall strategy, implementation, and communication to clients and prospects. Shana has nearly two decades of industry experience at leading investment firms, primarily in Boston and Chicago. She previously served as Director of Investment Due Diligence & a Senior Portfolio Manager with Orion Advisor Solutions. Shana is a sought-after speaker & media contributor, frequently appearing at industry events and major financial news outlets like CNBC, Bloomberg, and Fox Business News. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from the UMass-Amherst and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Bentley University’s McCallum School of Business. Shana is a proud holder of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. “If you have an idea, the knowledge, and you’ve done the work, then don’t be afraid to go out and talk about it or have a differentiated viewpoint.” Shana Sissel Worst investment everLate 2006 or early 2007, Shana was interviewing for an equity research analyst position at a major global asset manager. Part of the interview process was to pitch a stock that you believed in and do the work and have enough conviction. A stock that you would put your own money in. Banking on AppleShana did a write up on Apple. She believed that this was it. It was an excellent choice. Shana’s pitch was based on the fact that Apple was just about to launch the very first iPhone. At the time, the stock was probably trading at $3 a share. She had done her research well and believed that the iPhone was going to be a complete game-changer. Trying to sell a newcomerApple, at the time, had no market share. Blackberry ruled the world when it came to smartphones. Shana’s selling point was that it would develop this ecosystem because Apple had such a brand commitment from the people who used it. A generation of students was coming up that would prefer Apple to the larger brands at the time. Laughed out of the roomSo Shana went in and pitched the iPhone as a game-changer. She projected the stock would grow to $150. She got laughed out of the room and was told to pick a different career. Shana was unable to convince the portfolio manager that she was interviewing with to purchase Apple. Losing confidence in her ideaWhen Shana got laughed at, her confidence completely left her. Shana stopped trusting her instincts, and in all the work she had put into her pitch. She believed the portfolio manager who told her that she was wrong simply because he was in a position of power and had more experience than her. Failing to invest in her ideaThe worst part of it all was not that nobody believed her, but that Shana didn’t believe in herself enough to invest in Apple. This missed opportunity went down to be her worst investment ever because the iPhone went on to be a game-changer just as she had predicted, and she missed out on the returns it has made over the years. Lessons learnedIt’s ok to think differentlyIt’s ok to have different views from other people. Just because others disagree with you doesn’t mean you’re wrong. Thinking differently is a positive thing. When it comes to investing, that’s how you win. Following the crowd is never how you win. You win by being different, thinking different, and seeing things differently. Do your homeworkIf you have an investment opportunity, but you don’t trust your judgment, do your research so that you can be sure it’s worth investing in. You can’t convince somebody else if you can’t convince yourself. As long as you’re making good, thoughtful investments and doing the work, and you are confident in your investment, even if it turns out you were wrong, you win because it’s always about learning something new. On October 2nd, the International Day of Non-Violence, we would like to thank Rev. Canon Leonard Hamlin, Hardy Merriman, Rivera Sun, and Mary Elizabeth King for the excellent discussion on the current state and relevance of nonviolent action in the contemporary globe. Grievance and deprivation, perceived or real, tempt groups into violent behavior. Rapid change, social upheaval, and uncertainty make violent expressions of social discontent even more likely. It is in those moments that we are called to demonstrate a heightened sense of restraint and sound judgment. It is in those moments that nonviolence presents as a timely and timeless concept for contemporary societies. And yet, while few would disagree about the virtue of nonviolence, a similarly firm belief and understanding about its power, strategy, and discipline is much harder to locate. The M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence and Rumi Forum, proudly inspired by two masters of nonviolent action, are co-hosting this event on Gandhi’s birthday, the International Day of Nonviolence. The program features a panel from scholarly as well as practitioner backgrounds. Our speakers will guide an exploration of the current state of nonviolent action around the globe, its growing relevance amid social unrest, and efforts to make it an inherent element of individual and collective behavior. The music duo Mutual Groove is comprised of drummer, guitarist and audio engineer David Martin along with bassist, rapper, songwriter Pat Graves (who also happens to be a professional acrobat). In 2007, David formed a three-piece rock band with two fellow students (including Pat Graves) that would later become Wings of Apollo. Wings of Apollo developed a strong local following in the Washington D.C and Northern Virginia area by playing a few shows a year, when all members were back from their respective colleges. Although music seemed a promising career path, David decided to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from James Madison University to help navigate the band's journey in the music industry. In 2015, David capitalized on his education and launched his own music business, DMart Music. Specializing in recording, graphic design, and beat making, David has ventured into the world of entrepreneurship. Pat Graves love for music developed at the young age of 3 when he started sharing a room with his older brother, Ryan. It was through Ryan that he discovered artists like Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica, and Eminem. Pat's passion for music didn't turn him into a musician until he was 16 when he first picked up a bass. His intentions on making a music career became serious in 2007 when he became a founding member of the three-piece rock band, Wings of Apollo. Pat graduated from Virginia Tech in 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Creative Writing and moved to Nashville, Tennessee shortly thereafter. The two have formed "Mutual Groove" creating bass and drum influenced beats and rhythm tracks.
