What if an entire generation is emotionally stuck in childhood—and doesn't even know it? In this compelling guest appearance on The Steph and Craig Show, Tony dives deep into what he calls "the emotional immaturity epidemic" that's quietly sabotaging relationships everywhere. Discover the hidden patterns that keep adults reacting like children: black-and-white thinking that destroys nuance, magical thinking that avoids reality, and the exhausting habit of managing everyone else's emotions instead of allowing people to have their own experiences. Through real-life examples and practical insights, you'll learn to recognize these childhood survival strategies that have become adult relationship roadblocks. Whether you're the people-pleaser who can't say no, the perfectionist who fears vulnerability, or the controller trying to manage everyone's feelings, this conversation offers eye-opening insights into how these patterns formed—and more importantly, how to outgrow them. What you'll discover: • Why emotional reasoning ("I feel it, so it must be true") sabotages relationships • How childhood adaptations become adult limitations • Practical tools for recognizing your own emotional immaturity patterns • Actionable strategies for developing genuine emotional maturity Ready to stop reacting from your inner child and start responding from your wise adult self? Things we love about America, plus how to read a room, and what if you catch feelings for someone who isn’t a Christian? Featured musical artist: All Sons & Daughters Roundtable: What We Love About the United States Many people like to criticize the United States. Even US citizens love to bag on our country, and while many of our shortcomings are real and even serious, it’s also good to remember what’s good about this nation. As we celebrate Independence Day, we have a conversation about what the United States has gotten right, both now and in the past. His tips for how to read a room, assess a situation and win in social and business environments will save you years of trial and error. Lisa Bilyeu is joined by two powerhouse guests: Dr. Ann Burgess, a pioneering criminal profiler who helped shape the way the FBI tracks predators, and renowned attorney Karen Conti, whose experience spans defending some of the most infamous criminal minds. Together, they unravel the verdict in the highly controversial Sean “Diddy” Combs trial, where Diddy was found not guilty on three out of five serious charges, including sex trafficking—leaving many questioning whether justice was truly served or if power protected the powerful once again. Lisa, Dr. Ann, and Karen dive deep into what happened in the courtroom, shedding light on the complicated realities of coercion, consent, and the manipulation so often at play in cases involving abusive power dynamics. They discuss how the defense's strategies, jury demographics, and society's collective misunderstandings about coercive control may have influenced the outcome, and what needs to change to better support survivors and educate the public—especially juries—about these forms of abuse. Despite the heartbreak over not-guilty verdicts, the episode also highlights the significance of the guilty charges and the bravery of women like Cassie and “Jane” who came forward, risking everything to break the silence. This conversation is a call to action: to keep learning, to keep supporting survivors, and to make sure this isn't a story that repeats itself. Continuing the masterclass on confident communication, Part 2 of Lisa Bilyeu's transformative interview with Kwame Christian dives even deeper into the actionable side of navigating life's toughest conversations. This half is your tactical toolkit for boundary-setting, breaking free from people-pleasing, and leveling up your negotiation skills—both with others and with yourself. Kwame and Lisa walk through the overlooked power of having a conversation “about the conversation”—from inviting others into dialogue with respect for timing, to tackling the tricky dynamics of dueling truths and differing upbringings. The House on Thursday moved to approve the largest-ever cuts to federal safety net programs, the last step before the measure goes to President Donald Trump's desk. After the Senate very narrowly passed the bill, House GOP leaders ushered it past resistance from conservatives wary of adding trillions to the federal debt and moderates concerned about its cuts to Medicaid. Meanwhile, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has continued to pursue his anti-vaccine agenda, despite promises that he would not. Alice Miranda Ollstein of Politico, Maya Goldman of Axios, and Sarah Karlin-Smith of the Pink Sheet join KFF Health News' Julie Rovner to discuss these stories and more. Plus, for “extra credit,” the panelists suggest health policy stories they read this week that they think you should read, too: Julie Rovner: The Lancet's “Evaluating the Impact of Two Decades of USAID Interventions and Projecting the Effects of Defunding on Mortality up to 2030: A Retrospective Impact Evaluation and Forecasting Analysis,” by Daniella Medeiros Cavalcanti, et al. Learning Through Play: How Boddle Built Educational Games That Kids Actually WantIn this insightful conversation, Matt Watson talks with Clarence Tan, founder and CEO of Boddle Learning, about their journey building educational games that have reached over 10 million users. Clarence shares how they tackled the classic problem of educational games - how to make them as engaging as regular games while maintaining educational value. By creating fun games first and then "sneaking in" learning content, Boddle has found success in the competitive educational technology space. The most valuable lesson? Get out of the office and actually watch users interact with your product. Rather than spending money on complex analytics, the Boddle team discovered their biggest product issues simply by visiting classrooms and observing how kids used their app. Clarence also shares how they eventually cracked the monetization code by understanding that parents were buying subscriptions not because they understood the educational benefits, but because their kids wanted the in-game items.
What do Hollywood, Joan Didion, and the Bible have in common? More than you'd expect. In this episode, New York Times film critic and author Alissa Wilkinson joins Dru Johnson to discuss the life, work, and worldview of Joan Didion, one of the most influential American writers of the 20th century. Wilkinson's new book, We Tell Ourselves Stories, explores how Didion made sense of chaos through narrative—and what her work reveals about faith, trauma, politics, and cultural memory. Together, Alissa and Dru explore Didion's insight that stories are not just entertainment; they are survival mechanisms, tools we use to impose order on a chaotic world. But is that all Scripture is—just another human-made narrative? Wilkinson offers a careful reflection on the limits and power of storytelling, showing how Didion's work can challenge both Christian belief and secular mythmaking. They also dive into conspiracy theories, the fusion of politics and Hollywood, and the rise of nostalgia as a cultural sickness. From John Wayne to 9/11 to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this episode traces the invisible threads between the stories we inherit and the truths we cling to. We are listener supported. People are quitting their jobs a lot these days. Should you try to avoid it or let people go? It depends…. There are some good reasons why someone might leave their job: relocation retirement family illness new opportunity I wouldn't consider any of these “quitting”. They are reasons for change. No one would fault your company for them and so it doesn't hurt recruitment/retnetion. What does hurt though is when someone feels bad enough that they quit - decide it's not worth it. It's important to understand the difference between these two things and the real reason why someone would bail on gainful employment. This will help to understand how to give people what they need to have a joyful work experience and stay. Have a generous rest of the week.

This is a Fan Fav episode. Welcome to Impact Theory where I'm going for a deep dive into the art of seduction with best-selling author and expert strategist, Robert Greene. Known for his profound understanding of human nature, Greene shares game-changing insights that are a game-changer in your dating approach and what women will find attractive about you. In this episode, we're breaking down the barriers that hold many men back in their romantic pursuits. Greene says, "Seduction involves the desire to lose control." It's time to step out of your analytical mindset and tune into the woman you desire and dare to be vulnerable. Discover why Robert believes that flirtation is more about the looks you give than the words you use. We're also exploring the power of fantasies, and unpacking the role of men in today's society. What's the right amount of masculine that commands power and respect without being hyper masculine and a turn off for many women? “Seduction is a language that does not involve words.” -Robert Greene By the end of this episode you'll have a deeper understanding of seduction, attraction, and the authentic connection that women crave.
