When Bhavitha Mandava got word that she was cast as the Chanel Bride for Matthieu Blazy's highly anticipated Spring 2026 couture show, she approached the role the same way she tackled her research papers at NYU. She headed straight to a Paris library to pore over books on couture and watched every Chanel bride video she could find. “Then I came up with a story in my head. I was like, okay, I'm going to view the audience around me as if they're my friends and family, and I'm going to view the runway as if I'm walking down the aisle.” She told Chioma Nnadi on The Run-Through following her British Vogue cover.Mandava also made history as the first Indian model to open a Chanel show for the Métiers d'Art 2025 2026 fashion show, staged in a New York City subway station. In a full-circle moment, she wore an outfit reminiscent of what she had on the day she was first scouted.“I was on my way to grab biryani with a friend after getting rejected from an interview,” she recalled. “I was waiting for him at Atlantic Avenue when my now ‘mother agent' came up to me and asked, ‘Are you a model?' I said, ‘No.' And he said, ‘Do you want to be one?'”Initially skeptical, Mandava was ultimately persuaded by the prospect of paying off her school debts. Just a few months later, she had fully launched her modeling career and amassed more than 500,000 followers. “My dad is collecting every newspaper,” she said. “He's clipping all the articles about me like The New York Times. Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino return to the microphones with a little twist to their typical format as they take on previews for USC's upcoming 2026 spring camp, which begins on Tuesday. Part 1 takes on the offense.  That doesn't stop them doing their traditional opening the Two-Minute Drill. Chris uses his Two-Minute Drill to fire back at some of the NFL Twitter criticisms of USC wide receiver Makai Lemon during his media interviews. Shotgun uses his TMD to shine some light on No. 25 USC Baseball, which improved to 11-0 on the season with an 8-6 win over Cal Poly.  The boys of Helium then jump into the spring preview in the following order: quarterbacks, running back, tight ends, wide receivers, offensive line and kickers.  USC has potentially another high-powered offense coming back with starting QB Jayden Maiava, five returning starters on the offensive line and two of the best Big Ten running backs in King Miller and Waymond Jordan. Are you having a Lenty Lent? It may feel like your failing or things are going wrong, but maybe you are right where the Lord wants you. Its just a bit of pain from the composting process of our souls.  Lent is not a gloomy interruption of life. It is the Church handing us winter on purpose.   In the garden, winter strips everything down. The bright flowers are gone. The branches look skeletal. You walk outside and think, Nothing is happening here.   But beneath the surface, roots are deepening. The soil is being replenished. Worms are turning what fell and died into nourishment. What looks like stillness is actually preparation.   Lent does the same.   It takes away the noise. It asks us to fast. To sit in silence. To feel our hunger instead of numbing it. To look honestly at what needs pruning in our lives. And at first it feels like a loss. Like grey skies feel to me today. Like not being able to see more than a few feet in front of you.   But Lent is not about deprivation for its own sake. It is about increasing capacity. Uniting ourselves to Christ in his passion. Praying in the garden of Gethsemane. Facing Calvery.    When you prune a plant, you cut away what once looked fruitful. You remove even good branches so that better fruit can grow. That is uncomfortable. It feels like diminishment. But the gardener is thinking ahead to spring.   And the compost pile is not a symbol of failure. It is where the old life breaks down so it can become nourishment for new life. In the spiritual life, our disappointments, our faliures, our surrendered dreams, even our grief, none of it is wasted. Given to God, it becomes rich soil.   Lent is when we allow that decomposition to happen.    We stop clinging. We let attachments die. We allow deeper parts of the heart to awaken. The grey days reveal what the bright days sometimes hide. They show us how much we depend on consolation instead of God Himself.   And then Easter comes.   Not as a surprise, but as fulfillment. The buds that appear are not random. They are the result of hidden work. The joy feels fuller because we remember the winter. The Alleluia sounds louder because we walked through the silence.   Spring does not erase Lent. It proves it was necessary.   I'm trying to die to myself and give God my fiat. This Lent I'm also saying "I am the handmade of the Lord, be it done unto me according to your word". I'm surrendering myself to the hands of the Gardener.   And I pray for patience while the compost of my soul continues decomposing, I remind myself  that growth cannot be rushed. His ways are not my ways. But I trust and surrender.    The Gardener knows when to prune. He knows when to wait. He knows when to bring the sun.   And even when you can only see three feet in front of you, the roots are going deeper than you realize.

There’s something about the shift from winter to spring that stirs a desire for fresh starts. As sunlight lingers longer and air begins to warm, we start noticing what’s been sitting untouched—dusty corners, cluttered closets, items we no longer use but haven’t released. Spring cleaning can feel overwhelming. It’s rarely just about things. Objects often carry memories—joyful seasons, painful chapters, transitions we didn’t fully process. Sorting through them can stir emotions we didn’t expect. Yet sometimes God uses physical cleaning as a picture of spiritual renewal. As we clear out drawers and shelves, He may gently invite us to clear out old resentments, regrets, or attachments we’ve quietly carried. Philippians 3:13 reminds us to forget what lies behind and press forward. Isaiah 43:18 calls us not to dwell on former things. Cleaning is more than organizing—it can be surrender. It can be an opportunity to let God bring healing where memories once hurt, and gratitude where blessings once bloomed. Just as David prayed, “Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow,” we too can invite God to cleanse both our homes and our hearts. This season of decluttering can become a sacred reset—making space not only in our houses, but in our souls.
