Patty is a Flight and Instrument Instructor and is rated and qualified to fly everything from World War II fighters to jets.  Patty's is a six-time recipient of the "First Lady of Aerobatics" Betty Skelton Award; an inductee into the National Aviation Hall of Fame and was the recipient of the National Air and Space Museum's Award for Current Achievement. She is proud of receiving the Airshow industry's most prestigious awards, the "ICAS Sword of Excellence", and the "Bill Barber Award for Showmanship". Recently she was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Air Force Association. In March, 1994, her airplane, the Goodrich Extra 260, went on display in the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum in Washington DC where you can see it on the Mall today. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Motion Picture Pilots Association, United Stuntwomen's Association, she has worked as a stunt pilot and aerial coordinator for the film and television industry. There are no shortage of scandals plaguing Washington D.C. right now. One that has captivated much of the political and media professions involves Olivia Nuzzi, a political writer formerly of the magazine New York, and now an editor with Vanity Fair, who was involved in a relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during the 2024 campaign. Nuzzi's relationship has provided incredible fodder for the press, not least because her ex-fiance, Ryan Lizza, has penned a multi-part series on the matter where he has unspooled numerous accusations against her and RFK Jr., in anticipation of the publication of Nuzzi's book, American Canto, which was released Tuesday. Those accusations are quite serious, many of which Nuzzi addresses in her book, including an admission that she secretly aided RFK Jr.'s campaign. The more important ones, however, deal with RFK Jr. himself, including the charge that he has hid drug use and was both manipulative of and threatening to Nuzzi during their relationship. Nuzzi has not discussed any of it on camera. Until now. In a sit down interview with Tim Miller, she talked about the ethical breaches that cost her her job, the conflict between her responsibilities as a reporter, the private relationship that blurred those boundaries, and the fear and isolation she experienced as the scandal unfolded. She describes withdrawing from the world, fleeing across the country, and trying to rebuild her sense of self while contending with public shaming and, what she saw as, the “weaponization” of her personal life against her. She also offers some insights and revelations regarding the now Health and Human Service secretary, who has denied the relationship. She and Tim discuss her relationship with RFK Jr. and the wreckage that followed, whether he continues to use drugs while occupying a cabinet post, what type of threats she felt, and why she didn't feel compelled to speak up as it became clear that Kennedy was ascending to remarkable heights of political power. They also discuss the broader political moment that shaped all of it: the Trump era's constant tug between reality and spectacle, the corrosion of public trust, and the ways journalists become characters in the dramas they cover. And they broach one of the more understated questions throughout this entire, sordid ordeal: why even bother writing this book to begin with? This week is the anniversary of two events which define the State in the U.S., both in the past and today. In 1969, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Chicago Police Dept. assassinated Black Panther leader Fred Hampton and his associate Mark Clark while they slept in Hampton's home. Hampton had been an up and coming, inspiring, leader in the Chicago community and worked to build coalition with a variety of groups in the area. The FBI had viewed Hampton as a potential “messiah,” who needed to be “neutralized.” When the COINTELPRO program was exposed, it was clear that the FBI had worked to eliminate domestic enemies like Hampton and the Black Panther Party. In 1980, the rape and murder of four Catholic missionary nuns by U.S. backed death squads sparked international outrage and criticism of President Carter's support for the government in El Salvador. Carter initially suspended aid to the regime, he later reinstated it, and President Reagan continued this support. Later in the 1990s, when documents were declassified revealing the extent to which the U.S. support torture and terror campaigns, former NJ congressman Robert Torricelli said that it was "now clear that while the Reagan Administration was certifying human rights progress in El Salvador they knew the terrible truth that the Salvadoran military was engaged in a widespread campaign of terror and torture".Despite a history of these events, the movement continues. As Hampton said, "You can jail a revolutionary, but you can't jail the revolution."In 2025, the Trump administration is sending ICE to terrorize undocumented people in communities across the country, designating dissidents as "terrorists" and provoking war with Venezuela. We also just recently witnessed "blowback" from Salvadoran style death squads in Afghanistan with the shooting of national guard solders in Washington D.C. The folks at Fox News thought they were going to have an easy time with holiday programming last week with stories about pajama wearing travelers, Thanksgiving leftover tips and pre-taped shows filled with recycled segments. In between the holiday fluff the network put most of its focus on segments bashing Democrats, worshiping President Trump and what it called the “Seditious Six.”By mid-day Wednesday the on-air talent at Fox News immediately pivoted to cover a targeted domestic terrorist attack on National Guard troops in Washington D.C.Nearly every talking head at the network immediately blamed Democratic lawmakers for the violence even though there was no evidence that the shooter, an Afghan national, was motivated by left of center politics.Fox News was so lazy in its coverage of the tragedy that the network included a pre-taped episode of The Five for Thanksgiving that made no mention of the attack. That evening it re-aired The Patriot Awards, a Fox Nation special, in place of its regularly scheduled primetime lineup.I was expecting at least episodes of Fox News Live, the breaking news show for the network but the Fox stuck to its original plan for the holiday and decided to only air episodes that included live news coverage mid-day and late night on Thanksgiving. Today we're diving into the ongoing legal saga surrounding former President Donald Trump, whose courtroom drama continues to dominate headlines as we head into the final month of 2025.Let's start with what just happened. Earlier this week, on December 5th, the Georgia Court of Appeals heard oral arguments at 10:30 in the morning regarding Trump and his co-defendants' appeal from Judge McAfee's decision to keep Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on the case. This hearing represents a critical moment in the Georgia election interference prosecution, where Willis has faced repeated challenges from Trump's legal team questioning her impartiality and involvement in the case.Now, stepping back to understand the full picture, Trump's legal troubles span multiple jurisdictions and involve some of the most significant charges brought against any former president. In New York, the Manhattan criminal case concluded with a verdict that shocked many observers. A jury found Trump guilty on May 30th of 2024 of all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. What's particularly striking is what happened next. Justice Juan Merchan sentenced Trump on January 10th, 2025 to an unconditional discharge, meaning Trump received no prison time, no probation, and no fines despite the felony convictions. This sentencing effectively allowed Trump to walk away from what was initially portrayed as a serious criminal prosecution.The federal cases against him took a different trajectory entirely. In the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the entire federal indictment back on July 15th, 2024, ruling that Special Counsel Jack Smith was improperly appointed and funded. When the Justice Department appealed this decision to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, they eventually abandoned the fight. On November 29th, 2024, the Department of Justice dismissed its appeal against Trump entirely, and later on January 29th, 2025, they dismissed appeals against Trump's co-defendants Waltine Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira as well.The Washington D.C. election interference case met a similar fate. The original trial scheduled for March 4th, 2024 was vacated while the Supreme Court considered Trump's immunity claims. After the Supreme Court remanded the case back to Judge Tanya Chutkan on August 2nd, 2024, she ultimately granted the government's motion to dismiss the entire case on December 6th, 2024.What we're witnessing is a remarkable collapse of the federal prosecutions against Trump, even as he serves as president for a second time. ULTIMATUM ISSUED TO MADURO IN VENEZUELA.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------HomeFront-Texas: Following the terrorist attack in Washington D.C. last week, The Department of Homeland Security announced the arrest of another Afghan national, who was arrested due to making terroristic threats online. Mohammad Dawood Alokozay was arrested after threatening to construct an explosive device to use to attack a building in Fort Worth.Analyst Comment: The arrest in Texas is unrelated to the incident in Washington; the Texas arrest occurred the day prior to the D.C. attack that killed one solider and wounded another. The suspects in both cases, however, were part of the same Operation Allies Welcome migration program.California: Over the weekend a mass shooting was reported in Stockton as a suspected gang hit took place at a children's birthday party. 4x people were killed during the attack, and dozens more were wounded. This incident was the result of Filipino gang members shooting into a crowd of around 150x people, who were gathered at the Monkey Space Event Venue on Lucile Avenue. The primary target was a local rapper by the name of "MBNel" along with "Fly Boy Doughy" (of the Fly Boy Crips gang), who were attending a birthday celebration of a young family member.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Down south, details of the talks between the United States and Venezuela have come to light, indicating diplomatic options are not working out. All of this is rumor at the moment, however in the interest of expediency it's worth being aware of.On Sunday, President Trump conducted a phone call with Nicolas Maduro, the contents of which have not been released. However, observers that were in the room leaked the gist of the call (probably with permission), which involved President Trump issuing an ultimatum to Maduro...resign and flee the country right now with close family members, or else. Maduro rejected this deal, and his counteroffer involved leaving the country, but also retaining control of the military. At this point the details are more unclear, however the general atmospherics are that the US obviously rejected this option. That's where things stand right now; the ultimatum brings the unstoppable force to an otherwise immovable object.Until something happens, there's not much to go on as this potential war lies solely on the decisions made by the White House. The United States has not been entirely forthcoming as to the reasons for ousting Maduro, which makes risk assessments difficult. Whatever the reason, be it for oil/gas, mineral rights, drugs, or even just to oust a powerful figure from American spheres of influence, a war on in the American hemisphere is certain to impact daily life here in the United States in ways that probably aren't apparent until it happens. If a "leave now" ultimatum is being issued, this is probably an indication and warning of the late stages of a military mission planning. This is most sharply evidenced by President Trump himself announcing the closure of airspace in Venezuela, which has presented even more indicators that the hour may be approaching in which the war goes hot. Sarah Beckstrom was just 20 years old and lost her life while serving voluntarily so other could be home with their families.
