the holiday season has you dreaming of more blog income with less hustle, you're not alone. Q4 is the busiest (and most profitable) time of year for content creators—but it can also be the most overwhelming. In this week's episode of the podcast, I'm walking you through three smart, simple ways you can start making passive income from your blog right now—so you can spend more time with your family and less time stressing about sales. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode212 Each strategy is set-it-and-forget-it, designed to help your blog work for you while you sip hot cocoa and watch Christmas movies. 1. Update and Republish Your Seasonal Blog Posts with Affiliate Links If you already have holiday blog posts on your site, this is the easiest passive win. Here's what to do: Head to your WordPress dashboard and search for posts that include “2024” or are clearly seasonal. Update or add affiliate links where it makes sense (Amazon, LTK, Walmart, etc.). Refresh your intro paragraph and schedule the post to republish this season. Pin the post now so it has time to gain traction on Pinterest. And don't worry—this doesn't have to be a huge job. Just focus on your top 5 to 10 seasonal performers. If you notice a strong traffic post that doesn't yet have affiliate links, now is the perfect time to add them. Want to take it further? Create a new holiday gift guide and publish it now. It can be niche-specific like “Gifts for Teen Girls” or broader like “My Favorite Amazon Finds for the Holidays.” Then remember: pin it now so it's already circulating when people start searching in October and November. 2. Add a Low-Ticket Digital Product to Your Blog Digital products are one of the most underrated sources of passive blog income. Start simple: Create a printable checklist, holiday planner, cookie cookbook, or gift tag bundle. Upload it to Flodesk (or your email platform) and set up a simple opt-in and thank-you page with payment. No fancy funnel needed. Just a link to the product and automatic delivery upon purchase. Design a basic promo graphic and pin it now so it has time to gain reach before the holidays hit full swing. You could start with one seasonal product—or create several (one for fall, one for Black Friday, and one for Christmas). Just keep it simple, useful, and focused on solving a seasonal problem your audience has. 3. Increase Blog Traffic to Boost Ad Revenue Sometimes the most passive money-maker of all is right under your nose—your ad revenue. If you're with an ad network like Mediavine, Raptive, Journey, SHE Media, or Ezoic, then Q4 is when RPMs are at their highest. That means more money per pageview. Here's how to maximize that traffic: Make a list of your top-performing holiday posts. Save the direct links in your Notes app so they're easy to access on the go. Share those posts regularly across your social media (especially in Stories and Facebook). Create new pins or fresh Facebook captions for each post to drive traffic in different ways. Bonus Tip: Use tools like Facebook Fuel to simplify this process. Inside Facebook Fuel, I provide ready-made Amazon collages and high-converting product roundup graphics that can be uploaded to your blog sidebar or embedded within posts to increase both traffic and affiliate conversions. Your Weekly Action Plan To make this totally doable, break the steps into weeks: Week 1: Update and pin your best seasonal posts with fresh affiliate links. Week 2: Create one low-ticket digital product and pin it with a simple promo image. Week 3: Build your traffic plan by organizing your top post links and promoting them weekly. By the time October rolls around, you'll already have the systems in place for your blog to generate income on autopilot through Q4—freeing you up to actually enjoy the holidays. You don't need a complicated strategy to make your blog profitable this season. You just need to take action now. Choose one of the three methods above—affiliate links, digital products, or ad revenue—and take 30 minutes this week to set it in motion. Your future self (and your holiday calendar) will thank you. If this episode inspired you to take action, I'd love to hear what you're implementing first. Send me a DM or tag me in your pin so I can cheer you on. What are the Biggest SEO Mistakes Killing Your Website Rankings? Learn with Favour Obasi-Ike | Get exclusive SEO newsletters in your inbox. This audio from a Clubhouse audio Marketing Club discussion explores common SEO mistakes that hinder website rankings and offers strategies for improvement. Favour emphasizes the critical importance of a professional website for business legitimacy and online visibility, particularly for search engines and AI models. We discuss the long-term nature of organic SEO versus the immediate, but often less effective, impact of short-term ad campaigns, especially when a strong web presence isn't established. Practical advice includes optimizing website content, titles, and technical elements like Google Search Console integration, along with leveraging platforms like Pinterest for targeted advertising and understanding the interconnectedness of online presence across various digital channels.FAQs1. Why is having a website considered crucial for any business today?Having a website is no longer optional; it's a foundational requirement for any legitimate business. Without one, you're essentially invisible to potential customers and search engines. Someone emphasizes, "if I can't find you, I can't pay you." A website acts as your intellectual property, your online home, and the primary place where people will seek to understand and connect with your business. It establishes credibility, allows for tracking and analysis of customer interactions, and serves as the central hub for all your online presence, from social media to search engine results.2. What are some common SEO mistakes that can severely impact website rankings?Several major SEO mistakes can "kill your rankings." One prevalent issue is a lack of consistent content creation and updates. Simply posting a blog and forgetting about it is a thing of the past; sites need regular fresh content to be reindexed by search engines. Another critical error is improper page titling; many focus on what they want to say rather than what people are actually searching for. Beyond content, neglecting to connect your website to Google Search Console is a significant oversight, as it prevents Google from effectively seeing and indexing your site. Building a visually appealing website that isn't optimized for search engines is like having a beautiful house with no address—it won't be found.3. How does the concept of "patience is a virtue" apply to achieving high search engine rankings?Achieving high organic search rankings is a long-term game that requires significant patience and consistent effort. Unlike paid advertising, organic growth takes time to build momentum. Trying to rank for highly competitive terms like "Black Friday 2025" in just two months with organic strategies is unrealistic, especially when competing against businesses that have invested years. The analogy of waiting for a tree to germinate highlights that genuine growth requires consistent "watering" and care over an extended period. Focusing on building an audience and consistent content creation will lead to surprising and predictable growth over time.4. What are the key components of a "real business" online, beyond just a website?Beyond having a basic website, a "real business" online needs several elements to establish legitimacy and foster trust. This includes having an LLC or being registered with the secretary of state. The website itself should have an address in the footer, ideally hyperlinked to Google Maps, to provide location signals to search engines and potential customers. Furthermore, a business needs to actively manage its online presence across various platforms (LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, social media) and ensure that its website is connected to analytics tools like Google Search Console and Microsoft Clarity for tracking user behavior. Investing in professional branding, including a well-designed logo and a clear customer journey, also signals a serious and committed business.5. How can businesses leverage AI chatbots and other interactive elements to improve website conversions?AI conversational chatbots can significantly boost website conversions, with reported increases between 20% to 33%. These tools act as virtual assistants, guiding visitors and providing immediate support, similar to an in-person store assistant. By engaging users through pop-ups, chatbots, or other calls to action, businesses can prevent visitors from leaving confused or unable to find what they need. The goal is to turn passive viewers into active participants, ensuring they take action and ideally return to the site.6. What role do citations and backlinks play in boosting a website's authority and visibility?Citations and backlinks are crucial for increasing a website's domain authority and visibility. When other reputable platforms like Reddit, Wikipedia, YouTube, or various social media sites link back to your website, it signals to search engines that your content is valuable and credible. The more high-quality referrals your website receives from diverse sources, the higher its perceived authority. This interconnectedness is essential; as one speaker noted, "everything is connected or it's interconnected." This also highlights the importance of connecting your website to platforms like Reddit, as AI mentions can link back to your site from relevant subreddits.7. How does local SEO, particularly through address and zip code targeting, impact search rankings and advertising efforts?Including a physical address in your website's footer, especially when hyperlinked to Google Maps, significantly impacts local SEO. Search algorithms use this information to filter your business within local search results, as users often have their location services enabled. This creates a "signal within your community" and helps your business appear on local maps and in geographically targeted searches. When combined with targeted advertising, such as running Pinterest ads to specific zip codes, businesses can reach highly relevant local audiences. This precision allows for efficient ad spending and higher conversion rates, especially for businesses with defined service areas.8. What is the distinction between SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and newer terms like GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) or AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)? While new terms like GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) are emerging, the core principle remains "search everywhere optimization." These new terms essentially describe the application of SEO principles to different types of search platforms, including generative AI models like ChatGPT or answer engines. The fundamental requirement for showing up on any of these platforms is still a website with well-structured, informative content that you own. Think of SEO as your "boarding pass" to any "plane" (GEO/AEO/AI platform). Without a website that is indexed and providing the right source feedback to these systems, your information cannot be found, regardless of the specific engine or model being used.Digital Marketing SEO Resources:>> Join our exclusive SEO Marketing community>> SEO Optimization Blogs>> Book a Complimentary SEO Discovery Call with Favour Obasi-Ike>> Subscribe to the We Don't PLAY PodcastBrands We Love and SupportLoving Me Beauty | Buy Vegan-based Luxury ProductsUnlock your future in real estate—get certified in Ghana today!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this Labor Day episode, Shahin dives into the financial implications of the holiday and shares ten crucial financial habits people can adopt before the end of the year.Labor Day is identified as the second-biggest retail spending weekend (following Black Friday), significantly influencing markets as banks close and September trading commences [i]. During this period, travel demand spikes, leading to increased costs for airlines, hotels, and gas [i]. Additionally, 40% of states adjust their minimum wages, and the rise of gig work reflects underlying financial insecurity [i]. Union workers, despite shrinking membership, continue to earn 10–20% more [i]. Retirees, in particular, are advised to steer clear of traveling during this surge [i].The episode also highlights how Labor Day serves as a critical moment for planning and year-end preparation [i]. Many companies initiate sales as their fiscal years conclude in September, and individuals are encouraged to review their retirement savings, noting that the average 401k for ages 45–54 is approximately $150,000 [i]. It's an opportune time to review tax deductions, tackle credit card debt, and strategize for Q4 and holiday spending [i]. The discussion further touches upon the reality that some workers lack paid time off, underscoring the importance of reassessing financial resilience [i].To help listeners build wealth and financial stability, Shaheen shares 10 essential financial habits:• Track spending to identify savings opportunities [i].• Automate savings into high-yield accounts [i].• Monitor net worth regularly [i].• Increase retirement contributions, even by a small percentage (e.g., 1%) [i].• Pay off high-interest or small debts [i].• Avoid maxing out 401k too early to optimize company match benefits [i].• Rebalance and diversify investments [i].• Start a side hustle for additional income [i].• Maximize tax deductions with the help of a professional [i].• Set clear, personal financial goals [i].

This segment discusses a recent brawl on a Carnival cruise ship that reportedly broke out over chicken tenders. The hosts express fascination with what they see as a psychological phenomenon: people's willingness to engage in violence over "free" or heavily discounted items, citing similar behavior during Black Friday sales. The hosts suggest the incident was fueled by a last-minute rush to get as much "free" food as possible before the cruise ended. They also use this as a cautionary tale for listeners, advising them to research cruise ship quality before booking to avoid what they call a "seedy underside" of crime and violence. The conversation also takes a comedic turn as the hosts share viewer texts on related topics, including their addiction to "police patrol" TV shows and the importance of good beard hygiene.

Victoria Jackson, the original creator and pioneer of the term No Makeup Makeup—and owner of the trademark—has spent decades shaping the way women think about beauty. Starting as a makeup artist in the 1980s, she sparked a movement that celebrated natural beauty and empowered women to feel confident in their own skin. She went on to found Victoria Jackson Cosmetics, the first cosmetics brand sold on television, achieving an unprecedented $1 million in sales in its first week and ultimately driving over $1 billion in revenue through 13 groundbreaking infomercials and a decade on QVC. After stepping away from the industry to focus on her family, Victoria made a triumphant return in 2024 with the launch of No Makeup Makeup—the brand—bringing a new era of clean, effortless beauty. If you're hoping to have a record-breaking Black Friday this year, this episode is your ultimate prep guide! In this episode, I'm joined by three online business powerhouses—Dolly DeLong, Mara Kucirek, and Bekah Read—to talk about what's actually working (and what to avoid) when it comes to Black Friday sales. We're pulling back the curtain on strategies that will save you from last-minute stress, set your audience up for a “heck yes!” purchase, and help you decide exactly what you should be selling this year.Whether you've had Black Friday flops in the past or this is your first one ever, you'll walk away with a clear plan to make this your most profitable (and stress-free!) sale yet.TAKEAWAYS:Start planning your Black Friday sale months in advance, not in November. Rushed sales = missed opportunities and unnecessary stress.Plant the seeds early. Tease your offer long before Black Friday so your audience is already ready to buy.Decide on your sale timing now (will you run it early or during Black Friday week?) and commit.Don't just slash prices. Sstack value by adding bonuses or implementation support so your buyers see the offer as a no-brainer.Plus, Dolly, Mara, and Bekah share the details on their upcoming free Black Friday Summit, where you can dive even deeper into proven strategies for your 2025 sale!RESOURCES:Check out the blog post that accompanies this episode for additional resourcesSnag a free ticket to the Black Friday Summit hosted by Bekah, Dolly, and MaraCONNECT WITH ALLISON: Follow Allison on Instagram DID YOU HAVE AN 'AH-HA MOMENT' WHILE LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE?If you found value and are ready to take action from listening to this episode, head to Apple Podcasts and help us reach new audiences by giving the podcast a rating and a review. Here's the thing about Black Friday that nobody wants to admit: most people are doing it completely wrong. They're slashing prices and praying. They're throwing up a quick "50% off everything!" post on Instagram and wondering why their sales are flat. They're convinced their audience is "too sophisticated" for Black Friday, or their business is "too small" to make it worth it.Meanwhile, there are course creators and coaches quietly crushing six-figure weeks using strategies that have nothing to do with desperate discounts.I'm sitting down with Mara and Becca, two-thirds of the powerhouse trio behind the upcoming Black Friday Summit (along with their co-host Dolly). Mara has run over 100 Black Friday campaigns since 2018—yes, you read that right. We're spilling ALL the tea today. From the JCPenney catalog strategy that generated massive buzz to why trying to beat the crowd by running your sale early might actually backfire, this conversation is packed with the kind of behind-the-scenes insights that separate the pros from the amateurs. If you've been sitting on the fence about Black Friday because you think your business is "too small" or your audience "won't go for it," we're about to bust those myths wide open. Spoiler alert: There's no business too small for Black Friday, and yes, even if you only have 15 people on your email list, it can still be worth your time. What You'll Learn:Why novelty is the secret sauce that makes Black Friday campaigns absolutely crush itThe "January implementation" strategy that's changing the game for course creators in 2025How to prep for Black Friday without becoming a stressed-out mess by ThanksgivingWhy shorter sales pages are the move right now (and when a Google Doc might actually be genius)The biggest myths about Black Friday that are keeping you from cashing inReal numbers and results from campaigns that generated six figuresHow service providers can absolutely nail Black Friday sales (yes, even photographers and designers!)The exact timeline you need to prep without losing your mindResources Mentioned:Mara, Bekah, and Dolly's Black Friday Summit (August 26-28): http://gemmabonhamcarter.com/blackfridaysummit Gemma's Black Friday in a Box program: https://gemmabonhamcarter.com/blackfridayMara: marakucirek.com Bekah: rebekahreadcreative.com Dolly: dollydelongphotography.com/ Your Next Steps:Work with Me: https://www.gemmabonhamcarter.com/programsWhat I Use to Run My 7-Figure Business: https://gemmabonhamcarter.com/toolsConnect on Social: https://www.instagram.com/gemma.bonhamcarter Support the show
