This episode features the interesting Lisa Finn. Lisa is the Digital Consultant & Leadership Trainer at LBSPartners, running her own consultancy company called Enhance Consultancy Lisa runs through her career and talks about her how her current consultancy business comes in and looks at the digital processes and how they might transform or enhance practices via several different avenues. For example, CMS upgrades, automation processes or time-saving practices like new software. She gives an example of a business printing out job packs every Monday, meaning no data was coming back to the business until the following Monday. Digitalising the process meant the open text data came through the same, the data was real-time and of course, the best part is the whole business goes paperless overnight. The best part of the story is the development was part of a Microsoft platform (powerapp) the business was already paying for. Lisa wonderfully talks about the potential within Microsoft and her growth in the coming year in the space. This is an excellent episode for anyone looking to know more about digital transformation opportunities for their businesses.

In this episode Mark Schaefer and A. Lee Judge revisit the idea of personal brand in 2022 and how businesses are figuring out how to harness personal brands. There is an opportunity at a corporate level to benefit from personal brands. How does a company establish a personal and human voice?Mark also gives additional insight from his recent book Cumulative Advantage a book on how to build momentum for your ideas, business, and life. Conversation points: Tell us about your new book, The Cumulative Advantage. Why and how does it relate to marketing? How can we apply the knowledge from your book to business and marketing? For example, in the book you discuss having advantage. Some maybe don't recognize that they have an advantage, but if they do recognize that, how do they build upon it? How to innovate yourself enough to put yourself out of business, meaning how to have/offer the next thing your customers need to fulfill their needs. In your recent book, you discuss unfair advantages and while reading the book I noticed these unfair advantages were actually privileges. People don't like to acknowledge privilege and in your book you don't avoid it. You address it and avoid the controversy, but you didn't avoid the existence of it and I commend that. Tell us more about that. If I were to summarize your books, they all incorporate marketing and personal branding. What do you think about the idea of being known today in 2022 and how has it changed? How have the ideas of having a personal brand changed? A. Lee Judge is the host of The Business of Marketing podcast. Please follow the podcast on your favorite podcast listening platform. This podcast is produced by Content Monsta - A leading producer of B2B Content.

In this episode, Rick and Kaleem have an in-depth conversation with Paul Chason, Digital Consultant and Open Source Business Leader. As an exited Founder and Partner at Mediacurrent, a multi-million dollar open-source digital agency, Paul was kind enough to share some of his experiences and sharp insights surrounding remote work. With so many companies struggling with the ongoing shift toward remote careers, the question they often face is "how do we effectively balance productivity and accountability?" Well, we couldn't possibly answer that as eloquently as Paul did, but his advice was spot on: Avoid policies, and instead build guidelines. Embrace the reality that everyone brings different skills and work histories to the table, and rigid structure will debilitate the remote employee experience. This conversation was a real eye-opener, but an absolute pleasure to be a part of. Thanks, Paul!

Lukas M. Joining me today on Vartalap is Digital Consultant, Technology journalist & Podcast host of The String - Abhishek Baxi, where we're going to be discussing the situation with print media and journalists in the country. Having recently joined Neowin as a senior editor, he will continue to be a contributor at The Morning Context & columnist at Hindustan Times, with previously written for Forbes, Gizmodo, AndroidAuthority, Windows Central, Android Central, TechRadar, BGR, ZDNet, and Mint, he's also the founder/editor of The Podcast Hub, an online publication about podcasts and podcasting, which is how we first connected! With everything going digital especially now, its been tough for print to not just stay relevant but also feasible. It's sad but how is it looked upon from a journalist's POV? Is print really dying? Or is this temporary and maybe we'll see them bounce back after COVID?

This Magic In The Mix episode marks the debut of Wardrobe/Screened, our content series dedicated to the red carpet, celebrity fashion, and fashion in tv and film. We’re talking Golden Globes 2020 fashion with three very special guests on one of our very favorite podcasts to date. Robert Verdi, Sasha Charnin Morrison, and Aliza Licht are fashion and entertainment experts and veterans, and friends of Story + Rain. The passion and the expertise on this episode is palpable, and you’ll feel how much fun we’re having. Robert is an entrepreneur, celebrity stylist, and television personality famous for his wit and wisdom, and his signature glasses-on-head and now, mustache, style. He perhaps is most famous for his styling work with Eva Longoria. He’s had his own show and you remember him from E! News, E! Fashion Police, E! Red Carpet, Full Frontal Fashion, Surprise By Design; he’s been an expert on The View, the Today Show, Martha Stewart, Wendy Williams, CNN, and more. And, of course, one of fashion + design’s most recognizable faces’ had cameo roles in The Devil Wears Prada and The September Issue. These days, when it comes to awards show red carpets, Robert’s been cranking out his one of a kind “Meme-Girls”: his red carpet comparisons that have Instagram and social media abuzz. One of the fashion industry’s top editors of all time, Sasha has over thirty years of magazine experience. She’s worked for Allure, Harper’s Bazaar, Mirabella, Seventeen, Elle, Vanity Fair, The Village Voice and more. She was the fashion director at US Weekly for 10 years, and is author of the book, Secrets Of Stylists. She’s appeared as an expert on Fox News, E! CNN, VH1, MTV and so much more, and she’s currently Style Director at CBS Watch. Aliza, also with a background in fashion editorial, is a Creative Brand Marketing and Digital Consultant. She was long time Donna Karan + DKNY Senior VP of Global Communications, where she was also award-winning social media personality, @dknyprgirl, organically buildinga multi-platform community of over 1.5 million followers. She was EVP of Brand Marketing and Communications at Alice + Olivia, and is the creator and host of the Leave Your Mark podcast, an offshoot of her book, the career bible of the same name. Aliza is also a Forbes contributor. Each of the experts discuss their individual, personal connections to the red carpet, what they’d like to see change in terms of today’s on-camera experts, and what they want to see change regarding the stars walking the carpet and the stylists who dress them. We get into the making of Robert’s witty memes, how Sasha assesses her favorite red carpet looks having had to look at literally all of Hollywood’s fashion for so many years, and Aliza’s giving us the brand perspective and insider stories on how a look actually makes it to the red carpet. We get into all the specifics of who wore what at the 2020 Globes, and we also talk about our thoughts on labelling things “best” and “worst”. Very important: if you love this podcast, be sure to rate and review and let us know because we’re hoping to bring you our red carpet round ups, on the regular.

The Jim Galiano Show: Online Business Success Minus the Stress
https://www.jimgaliano.com | The online world has become an increasingly complex place to do business. This is why I believe there's a long-term opportunity available for those entering the field of digital consulting. Consider the complexity of your own path through the online world over the past several years. Think about how many options you've had to sift through? There are a thousand flavors of everything. The paths you can take are endless. Now, imagine having to invest all that time bogged down in research while running another business (on top that). That's what most of your clients are dealing with. There just aren't enough hours in the day for the average business owner to figure things out. So, if you're looking to increase your income by increasing your perceived value in the marketplace, today's podcast will be a “great fit” for you!
The Jim Galiano Show: Online Business Success Minus the Stress
https://www.jimgaliano.com | Some people get paid for what they do. Others get paid much more for what they know. Knowledge, however, usually demands a much higher price point than labor does. An office or factory paints a very clear picture of this. The people doing the “heavy lifting” are making lower wages or receiving lower pay than the people managing them. In today's podcast, I want to continue to look at the role of a digital consultant. From this place, you have an opportunity to increase your value with existing and future clients. In a competitive space, good advice is often worth its weight in gold!
The Jim Galiano Show: Online Business Success Minus the Stress
https://www.jimgaliano.com | Some people get paid for what they do. Others get paid a lot more for what they KNOW. The truth is, knowledge usually carries with it a higher price point than labor does. As crazy as it sounds, people who seemingly know more (but do less) still get paid more. In today's podcast, I want to take a closer look at the system we're working in and how, for better or worse, “perceived value” is seen in the real world. I'll also be talking about the role of a digital consultant and how you can implement it within your current business structure. Why? So you can start increasing your value in the marketplace. If you're ready for a bit of a change in your life and business (or you're in the place where you're starting to think about it), I hope you'll join me for today's podcast!

“How can we make Durban a more entrepreneur-friendly city?” - Mohamed Chohan We have this syndrome in South Africa where people think they must have a nice office, nice office furniture and a laptop to start a business. We hear it all the time that start-ups fail because they don’t have access to finance. Skill yourself first and the finance will follow. He calls it “bootstrapping”. "Keep it simple, know what you want to do, do the research and then work hard." Mohamed Chohan is the Managing Director at Startup Grind Durban. Previously he has worked as a Business Development Manager at RSAWEB and has completed a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from UKZN. He has also worked at Smartrac which is a Management Consultancy, Black Ticket Creative Bureau which is a Brand Consultancy and KPMG. Photo credit: Puk Patrick on Unsplash Collaboration - Teaming up to tackle larger projects In this episode, I'm chatting with Cathi Bosco and Joe Dooley about a large project we did together. We talk about our roles and how we worked together. One of the challenges we tackled was incorporating a flexible animated icon system using SVGs -- and what was involved in building that. Listen to Episode 22 Cathi BoscoCreative Director, Digital Consultant, Web Designer, Artist, Illustrator, Children's Book Author, trail runner, dog lover & free thinker... My specialty is creating beautiful and cohesive web presence packages for clients that can convert audiences and present content elegantly (think modern and clean presentation). Our sites are built on The Genesis Framework and they function exceptionally well for a wide range of programs, communities, organizations, and companies. If you have an unusual challenge – we are all ears… tell us about your project and ideas! We don’t take on each and every proposal that comes along, but if we feel we can add value to your plans or programs, we’ll gladly get you a quote and get to work for you. I also think CSS transitions and CSS + SVG animations are very effective slightly below the surface. Designed to feed the human reward system. Always leaving the end user ‘in control’ of the navigation but royally rewarded aesthetically. This is for upper-end projects and can also help to differentiate sites from low-end, non-custom work… when done well. We all love this stuff… transitions and animations that are so subtle they beautifully and intriguingly enhance end-user experiences. Along with collaboration, they are key to forward momentum for Genesis developers and designers Joe Dooley Joe Dooley often describes himself as largely driven by analytics and a keen passion for SEO. His Tampa SEO company implements cutting edge practices to boost website conversion and meet his client’s marketing goals. Working as a front-end web developer and leading Developing Designs allows Joe to nurture the business aspirations of his clients as he works with them to advance their marketing platforms in exciting directions leading to success. Hi Cathi. Cathi: Good morning. Good morning. Jackie: Good morning to you. Thank you very much for joining me. I'm really excited to be able to chat with you today. Cathi: Well, it's my pleasure. I'm pretty excited to be talking about front-end design more, and rethinking the way things are being done, so I love it. Jackie: Awesome. Well for folks who don't know you, what do you do? Cathi: Well, I run a creative design studio here. I'm in Madison, Connecticut, and I've been self-employed, freelancing, doing this work for, gosh, almost 20 years now. I've sort of ridden the digital evolution. I started analog as an illustrator, drawing in the studio, gradually got split between analog and digital. Now, we're doing almost all digital work. I got involved with WordPress because I'm a trail runner and I run with a group of crazy wild animals, and one of my chief runners ended up being a really good mentor to me, and brought me from drawing into WordPress for our team site.
