Wellness expert and Ayurvedic practitioner Heather Grzych explores the idea that Ayurveda—far from being just a traditional health system—is actually a powerful tool for ushering in the next evolution of human consciousness. Broadcasting from the heart of the tech-saturated San Francisco Bay Area, Heather reflects on the concept of superconsciousness and why we may need inner technologies more than artificial ones to thrive in the future. Drawing parallels to Paul Atreides in Dune, she reveals how rhythm, breath, intuition, and ancient Ayurvedic practices could be essential for awakening our deeper intelligence in an increasingly fast-paced and destabilized world. Heather Grzych, ADLC is an American author and expert in Ayurvedic medicine who was formerly the president of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and the head of product development for a multi-billion-dollar health insurance company. She also serves part of the faculty at Mount Madonna Institute College of Ayurveda. Heather's first book, The Ayurvedic Guide to Fertility, has sold thousands of copies worldwide, and her writing has been featured in Sports Illustrated, Yoga Journal, and the Sunday Independent. It's a race to the finish in today's episode.   Only six more Regrettable Superheroes left in the book before Jay will have to create another segment, only a few more degrees before Mississippi weather hits 100 (that's temperature AND humidity), and a challenge to see who's seen the most auto racing movies.  Today's redeemable regrettable is Phoenix the Protector, whose finish came not from the alien super-race determined to end humanity, but from the collapse of Atlas Comics.   Geeks of the Week were short and sweet: Spiderman returns (again), Denis is not done with Dune, and Sandman Part the Second gets an eye-opening review via Robbie.   Then it's off to the races.  Jay and Robbie went to see F1 in the theater, and both left ready to take turn four at speeds never before reached in a Tundra.  Look for The Guys faces on your favorite Formula 1 car next season.  That led to a discussion of auto racing movies, a much larger genre than anticipated, leaving Jay with another list of movies to watch when he retires.   Buckle up, this one goes by fast.

This week on Challenge Accepted, Frank and Thomas unearth The Mummy (1999) and debate whether this fan-favorite adventure deserves a spot in the official Challenge Accepted Top 100 list. Originally challenged by Australian podcast pal Aaron Brasher from Fandom Portals, the duo dives into everything from the film's wild plot and iconic action to its CGI, practical effects, and Brendan Fraser's action star moment. They unpack what holds up, what doesn't, and why this movie might be the perfect time capsule of late '90s popcorn cinema. Timestamps & Topics: 00:00 Introduction & who challenged this movie 02:00 First impressions: childhood memories and DVD nostalgia 04:00 Two-minute plot rundown (with chaotic energy) 06:00 Brendan Fraser: action hero or accidental legend? 09:00 Can this franchise come back—and should Fraser lead it? 11:00 Comparing Rick O'Connell to Indiana Jones 13:00 Evelyn's character: damsel, badass, or both? 18:00 Imhotep's motivations and why he's low-key sympathetic 22:00 Side characters, comic relief, and iconic moments 24:00 Filming in Morocco and creating believable heat 25:30 The good, the bad, and the beetles of CGI 30:00 Why Brendan Fraser's fight choreography still holds up 33:00 That Egyptian score and the power of a strong soundtrack 35:00 Mid-budget movie magic: why we need more like this 38:00 Behind-the-scenes fun facts: near-death moments and more 44:00 Historical accuracy vs cinematic fun 46:00 Cast reunion and the movie's lasting cult status 47:30 Top 100 decision time—does it make the cut? Key Takeaways: Brendan Fraser choreographed much of his own action—legend. The Mummy walks the line between camp and craft, with charm to spare. This is a film that thrives on practical effects, strong chemistry, and a sense of fun. While some moments feel dated, the core still entertains in 2025. It's a solid contender for the Challenge Accepted Top 100, but is that enough? Quotes Worth Repeating: “Rick O'Connell is 90% action hero, 10% lucky idiot—and that's why we love him.” “Imhotep didn't ask to be cursed. They turned him into the villain.” “This movie feels hotter than Dune—and everyone's actually sweating.” “It's not just nostalgia, this thing's still fun start to finish.” Call to Action: Think The Mummy deserves a Top 100 spot? Tara Erickson and Aaron Alexander set sail for a swashbuckling adventure in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, the blockbuster sequel to Disney's Curse of the Black Pearl, directed by Gore Verbinski. Johnny Depp (Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd) returns in his iconic, Oscar-nominated role as Captain Jack Sparrow, who finds himself indebted to the dreaded Davy Jones—captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman—and must retrieve the legendary Dead Man's Chest to save his soul. Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings, Kingdom of Heaven) reprises his role as Will Turner, who joins Jack on his quest while dealing with family revelations, including the fate of his father Bootstrap Bill, played by Stellan Skarsgård (Chernobyl, Dune). Keira Knightley (Pride & Prejudice, Atonement) returns as Elizabeth Swann, now entangled in political intrigue and pirate peril. Bill Nighy (Love Actually, Underworld) delivers a chilling performance as Davy Jones, brought to life through groundbreaking motion-capture and visual effects. Naomie Harris (Moonlight, No Time to Die) appears as Tia Dalma, the mysterious sea witch with a deep connection to Jones. From the thrilling Kraken attacks and Jack's iconic escape from the cannibal tribe, to the three-way sword fight on the giant spinning waterwheel, this film is packed with some of the franchise's most famous and highly searched action sequences. The visual effects and Hans Zimmer's sweeping score helped Dead Man's Chest become one of the highest-grossing films of all time and a fan favorite within the series. James Gunn's Superman held its premiere in London July, 2, where the director confidently told The Times of London that his superhero epic celebrates "the story of America" and champions basic human kindness in a world that desperately needs it. Meanwhile, star David Corenswet shared at the London premiere that his predecessors did “a very Superman thing,” with former Men of Steel Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin encouraging him to make the role his own.Universal's Jurassic World Rebirth chomped its way to a $147 million five-day weekend opening during the Fourth of July. While those numbers would make any studio exec happy, they're actually a steep drop from the franchise's predecessors, suggesting that after 32 years, audiences might be experiencing some dino-fatigue. Universal clearly saw the writing on the wall and slashed the production budget from a mammoth $250 million down to a more modest $180 million, but the franchise is still roaring overseas. Australian-American actor Julian McMahon, beloved for his roles in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and as Dr. Doom in the 2000's 20th Century Fox Fantastic Four films, died peacefully on July 2nd at age 56 following a private battle with cancer.Michael Madsen, the gravel-voiced character actor best known for his menacing roles in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, and The Hateful Eight, died Thursday morning from cardiac arrest at his Malibu home at age 67.The next installment in Denis Villenueve's Dune franchise will officially be titled Dune: Three. Villenueve also revealed that the film will be shot entirely using IMAX cameras.According to a rumor from The DisInsider, Disney and LucasFilm are having active conversations planning a full reboot of the Indiana Jones franchise. The Last of Us co-creator Neil Druckmann is stepping down as co-showrunner of the HBO series after completing work on season two, choosing to return his focus to video game development at Naughty Dog including his next project Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Craig Mazin will continue as sole showrunner for season three, while Druckmann retains his executive producer credit on the critically acclaimed series. The Office star Craig Robinson announced on Instagram that he's officially quitting comedy to focus on his true calling. However, industry insiders believe this is likely a marketing stunt, as mysterious billboards have appeared in Los Angeles and Robinson still has comedy shows scheduled through the end of the year.Chris Pratt will reprise his role as the voice of Garfield in an animated sequel to Sony's 2024 The Garfield Movie, which grossed over $230 million dollars at the worldwide box office.Wicked director Jon M. Chu has signed on to helm a live-action Hot Wheels movie for Warner Bros. and Mattel Studios, with screenwriters Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier from Creed II and They Cloned Tyrone penning the script and J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot producing. The high-octane action film follows Mattel's success with Barbie as the toy company continues mining its properties for big-screen adaptations.Jimmy Olsen actor Skyler Gisondo revealed he mistakenly believed he was auditioning for the title role in James Gunn's Superman film, thinking the character name in his audition materials was just a placeholder to hide the fact he was reading for Clark Kent. The mix-up led to an awkward phone call with his representatives who had to clarify who he was actually auditioning for, though director James Gunn reportedly loved the story.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the film combines practical racing sequences with real F1 footage, offering an immersive experience for audiences. The movie has been praised for its dynamic storytelling and stunning visuals, making it a must-see for both racing enthusiasts and general moviegoers.Since its release on June 27, 2025, F1: The Movie has achieved remarkable box office success, grossing approximately $293 million globally. This figure makes it Apple's highest-grossing film to date, surpassing previous top performer Napoleon. A significant portion of its opening weekend revenue—19%—came from IMAX screenings, ranking fourth for IMAX's share of global debut sales behind Dune, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, and Oppenheimer. The film's success has also sparked discussions about a potential sequel, with director Joseph Kosinski expressing interest in continuing the story. Dune Lankard (Eyak Athabaskan), founder and president of Native Conservancy, has been working on land and habitat conservation since he witnessed the Exxon Valdez oil spill in 1989. That, and his development of kelp as a sustainable source of food and economic development for Alaska Native residents, places him among the recipients of the inaugural James Beard Impact Award. Tribes on the East Coast are weighing in on a plan to deregulate a genetically modified variety of the American chestnut tree, which was all but wiped out by blight. Some see the engineered variety as the way to bring back what was once an abundant wild food source. Others see the potential effects on the natural ecology as too great a risk. Buffalo are more than food. They are a connection to culture and a symbol of survival. That's why the Tanka Fund convened the Regional Buffalo to Schools Conference with native ranchers, cultural educators, and school administrators to break down hurdles for getting buffalo into school lunches.
