In this episode, we take "consistency over intensity" out of the gym and straight into relationships. Because if it's intense all the time, you burn out. If it's consistent all the time, you get bored. So what's the sweet spot? We talk about respect as the real baseline, convenience vs. connection, why lifelong marriage might need a rethink (yes, we went there), and how finances, in-laws, religion, and resentment erode connection faster than lack of chemistry ever could. We unpack how to approach hard conversations without triggering defensiveness, why movement helps when words get stuck, and how planned romance can still be romantic (if it's not transactional). There's a dash of "Liz & Lee Love Plan" brainstorming, a little twerking therapy, and a reminder that love isn't about pressure or perfection. It's about bravery, honesty, low expectations, and choosing each other again and again… until you don't. And if you don't? That's information, too.   Resources mentioned: Consistency vs. Intensity in Fitness (Episode 206) Love Languages Are Kinda BS (Episode 179) Liz's favorite Everyday Oil - Unscented Liz's favorite Everyday Oil - Mainstay   3 Ways to Strengthen Your Relationship Without Burning It Down: Respect is the real baseline. Intensity is exciting. Consistency is comforting. But without respect, neither one holds. Love without respect doesn't last. Speak from love, not accusation. Hard conversations are inevitable. Defensiveness is optional. Lead with "I'm struggling" instead of "You never." Move your body together. Lower the pressure. Sometimes breakthroughs come after laughter, not confrontation. Keep a dash of crazy. Grand gestures are great. Daily small touches matter more. Plan the dinner. Drop the expectations. Twerk in the kitchen. Low expectations + real affection = longevity.

Brad and Dan speak at the Combine The Detroit Lions hit the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday with clarity at a critical spot. Minutes after Dan Campbell wrapped his podium, Taylor Decker posted that he is coming back. The timing sharpened the conversation that both Campbell and Brad Holmes started in Indianapolis. Plan as if Decker might not be there. Welcome him if he is. Now he is. That stabilizes left tackle. The Lions still want a real plan B at tackle. Even with Decker back for 2026, they need depth and a future answer. The return eases the pressure to chase a plug-and-play starter immediately. It also widens the draft choices. Detroit can shop for value instead of forcing the board. Ready-Now vs. Upside at Tackle, and the Ripple at Edge With Decker in place, the Lions can consider a developmental tackle at 17 or 50. That shifts the calculus between floor and ceiling. Spencer Fano and Francis Mauigoa are widely viewed as the most NFL-ready. They might not reach Detroit. The alternative is betting on growth. Caleb Lomu fits the long-range model. Monroe Freeling does too. There is even patience baked in for an injured stash like Isaiah Wood on Day 3. Freed from a must-start tackle search, Detroit can let the best player win the room. The vibe in Indianapolis points to edge and offensive line as the early pillars. Safety lingers as a swing factor. The first two rounds still look like edge and offensive line, with safety in the mix if the board breaks right. Safety Health Clouds the Secondary, Card-Ready at 17? Both leaders addressed the safeties' health. The update on Kerby was cautious. More will be known in about a month. The staff is probing his recovery and realistic timeline. It did not sound overly promising. Branch tore his Achilles late in the season. A return before the start seems unlikely, and peak form could take time in 2026. The defense felt that loss. When the NFL's interception leader went down with a knee injury, the secondary buckled and the unit needed weeks to adjust. That context keeps safety very live on Day 1 or 2. If Cam Dow is there at 17, the card goes in. Otherwise, Detroit can let a deep edge class meet a flexible tackle board and take what the NFL gives. One more steadying note from the Combine floor: the defensive coaching staff stays intact. Campbell is energized by that continuity. The Detroit Lions Podcast will have more as medicals and workouts reshape this board in real time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OzHbLEbLDg #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #taylordecker #bradholmes #dancampbell #nflscoutingcombine #lucasoilfield #offensivetackle #edgerusher #spencerfano #francismanu #caleblomu #monroefraley #isaiahwood #kirby #branchachilles #pick17 Learn more about your ad choices. There's a Lit song that's been stuck in my head for weeks: "My Own Worst Enemy." And it's the perfect metaphor for my entire solo journey.I've blocked myself at every stage—consulting, fractional leadership, and now with The Escapee Collective. Not intentionally, but by doing what corporate trained me to do: overanalyze, overstructure, and wait for perfection before taking action. In this episode, I walk you through the three times I made the same mistake—and what I'm doing differently now.If you're overthinking, over-structuring, or waiting for the "perfect" website, pitch deck, or system before you start—this one's for you.In This Episode:The consulting mistake: Building the perfect website, pitch deck, and pricing before having a single conversation with a client (and why it led to zero wins)The fractional repeat: Doing the EXACT same thing again—new methodology, new deck, same lack of resultsThe Escapee Collective lesson: How TikTok took off with zero plan, then how I complicated it again with masterminds, classes, and modules—and why I had to simplifyWhy corporate trains us backwards: Plan first, act second works in corporate—but solo requires the oppositeWhat actually works: Conversations, experimentation, messy wins FIRST—then structureThe 79% reality: Why most burned-out corporate workers won't take action (and how to be in the 35% who do)How to catch yourself: Recognizing when you're building systems before you have proofKey Takeaway:Action beats planning. Momentum beats perfection. Get early wins first—THEN build the structure around what's working.

Many of the graduates whose university costs were funded with Plan 2 student loans are now in their 30s, wondering why they have no money at the end of the month, and why they still owe more student debt than they left uni with. The critical mass of graduates feeling the pinch might just have been reached - and now they're feeling angry and ripped off. On this week’s personal finance edition of Merryn Talks Money, Editor at Large for Bloomberg UK Wealth, Merryn Somerset Webb and author of the Money Distilled newsletter, John Stepek unpick how Plan 2 and the new - perhaps even worse - Plan 5 loans work, how and why graduate marginal tax rates can easily exceed 50% and what tweaks could be made to ease the burden. They also ask the overarching question: is the problem the system? Or is it the fact that the UK seems to be incapable of creating enough high paying jobs?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Now CEO of Zimmer Biomet, a century-old medtech giant, he's expanding from orthopedics into robotics, AI, and infection prevention, aiming to become "the boldest medtech company on Earth." Early in his career, Ivan struggled with leadership until embracing purpose alongside execution.

You've built awareness (Episode 1). You've created rhythm (Episode 2). You've learned how to make decisions and get paid properly (Episode 3). Now comes the real question: What do you actually do with the money? Because profit without intention just turns into: – Dumb spending – Panic tax decisions – Or a bigger business that still owns you. This episode is about turning profit into freedom, wealth, and optionality — not more stress. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) The order of operations for money (most owners get this backwards) Profit isn't for random spending. There's a sequence: – Pay yourself properly – Allocate for tax on purpose – Decide how much stays in the business – Decide how much gets extracted – Then invest deliberately Miss the order and you'll always feel broke, even when the numbers look good. 2) Why “reinvest everything” keeps owners stuck Reinvestment without rules is just unpaid labour in disguise. You'll learn how to reinvest with intention, so the business grows and your life improves. 3) The difference between business wealth and personal wealth A valuable business is not the same as personal security. We break down how to: – Build cash buffers – Separate business risk from life money – Avoid having your entire net worth trapped inside your gym 4) Smarter tax decisions (not dodgy write-offs) Buying stuff to “save tax” is one of the most expensive mistakes owners make. You'll learn how to: – Plan tax early – Use profit allocation instead of panic spending – Make decisions your future self won't regret 5) Designing a business that serves your life This is where finance becomes personal. What's the point of profit if: – You're still stressed – You still can't switch off – You still feel guilty spending money? This episode ties the numbers back to why you started. Homework: Your homework for Episode 4 is to decide what your profit is for. Download the workbook here → https://bit.ly/p-finance-in-february-workbook Then choose ONE: Set a profit allocation rule Decide how much stays in the business vs comes out Create a tax buffer (on purpose, not in panic) Decide what “enough” actually looks like for your life Map how profit turns into freedom over the next 12–36 months Write it down. Put it in the calendar. Stop winging it. What's next? That wraps Finance February. If this series changed how you think about money, decisions, or your role as an owner, go back and rewatch it as a system, not four random episodes. Understanding State of Michigan Retirement Benefits: Pension vs. Defined Contribution and Health Care Options If you work for the State of Michigan, your retirement benefits can feel like a maze. Hire dates matter. Plan elections matter. Even health care decisions from years ago still matter today. In this episode of Kitchen Table Finance, Nick and Dave sit down at the table to break it all down in practical, everyday language. We walk through how to figure out what plan you are in, what your options mean, and how to think about retirement income and health care with clarity and confidence. If you have ever looked at your benefits statement and thought, where do I even start, this conversation is for you. Watch the full episode HERE. How to Determine Which Retirement Plan You Are In The first step is understanding your hire date and whether you made any elections when changes were introduced in 1997 and 2011. The three primary categories are: Defined Benefit Pension Plan Defined Contribution with Subsidized Retiree Insurance Defined Contribution with Personal Health Care Fund Nick and Dave walk through how these plans evolved over time and why your employment history determines which system you fall into. When in doubt, the Michigan Office of Retirement Services can confirm your status. Defined Benefit Pension Plan Explained A defined benefit plan provides a lifetime monthly income based on a formula. Your pension is typically calculated using: Final average compensation Pension multiplier Years of service You do not manage investments inside the pension. The State assumes the investment risk, and you receive a steady payment for life. We also discuss spousal election options, how benefits are reduced based on survivor coverage, and how to think through those decisions as part of a broader retirement plan. Defined Contribution Plan Overview A defined contribution plan works more like a 401k. You contribute a percentage of your salary, and the State provides a match. The structure generally includes: 4 percent automatic State contribution 100 percent match on up to 3 percent employee contribution From there, your retirement outcome depends on contributions, investment performance, and distribution strategy. We also cover: Traditional vs. Roth 401k contributions The 457 plan and its early withdrawal flexibility In plan Roth conversions Investment options through Voya The self directed brokerage window through Schwab Vesting Rules You Need to Know For pension participants, full vesting typically requires: Age 60 with 10 years of service Or age 55 with 30 years of service For defined contribution participants: Your contributions are always 100 percent vested Employer contributions vest 50 percent after 2 years 75 percent after 3 years 100 percent after 4 years Understanding vesting is critical if you are considering a career change before retirement. Retiree Health Care: What Changes in Retirement Health care is one of the biggest retirement stress points, especially for those retiring before Medicare. There are two primary paths: Subsidized Retiree Insurance The State continues to offer coverage in retirement and pays a percentage of your premiums based on your service years. This provides guaranteed coverage and predictable cost sharing, which can bring peace of mind for many retirees. Personal Health Care Fund Instead of subsidized insurance, the State contributes additional money into your defined contribution account. You are responsible for securing your own coverage, whether through: The health care marketplace before age 65 Medicare and supplemental coverage after age 65 We discuss why health insurance planning today is more flexible than it was 15 years ago and how proper planning can reduce the stress around this decision. Key Takeaways from This Episode Your hire date drives your retirement structure Pension and defined contribution plans operate very differently Health care decisions significantly impact retirement cash flow Early retirement requires careful coordination of 401k and 457 rules Working with a fiduciary planner can help you avoid costly mistakes State of Michigan retirement benefits are complex, but they are manageable with the right guidance and a clear strategy. Today's Headlines: On Friday, the Supreme Court ruled 6–3 that Donald Trump's tariffs are unconstitutional under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The dissenters: Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh. Trump responded by blasting Justices Gorsuch and Barrett as “disloyal” and insisting he can “destroy trade” but not “charge a little fee.” He then proposed a global 10% tariff workaround — later bumped to 15%. Meanwhile, Americans are still effectively paying 9.1% in tariffs, and the Court didn't address what happens to the $133 billion already collected. Over the weekend, Trump announced he's sending a “great hospital boat” to Greenland, despite Denmark saying it wasn't informed and doesn't need it. The Navy ships in question are reportedly in Alabama. Sure. On the Russia beat, a Trump ally signed a natural gas deal with Russian energy giant Novatek despite U.S. sanctions tied to Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine — the first known new U.S.–Russia venture of its kind. Separately, ICE and other agencies contracted with phone-forensics firm Oxygen Forensics, which has ties to sanctioned former FSB figures. At the same time, DHS has issued hundreds of subpoenas to tech companies seeking identifying information on users critical of ICE. Trump is also pressuring Netflix to remove Susan Rice from its board amid maneuvering around a media acquisition deal that could affect CNN. Casual. In Florida, Secret Service agents shot and killed a 21-year-old man who allegedly breached the perimeter of Mar-a-Lagowith what appeared to be a shotgun and fuel can; the investigation is ongoing. Meanwhile, Florida lawmakers approved renaming Palm Beach International Airport after Trump — a $5.5 million rebrand. And finally, taxpayers will now provide new Secret Service agents with two tailored suits upon graduation. Inflation hits us all differently. My mother told me, until you become your own boss, you have to follow the rules.” “Less than 1% of Black women get VC funding—so we created our own fund.” “Relationships are your key to success. When social media goes away, your audience remains.” “If you have a business and you don’t have money, you’ve got a hobby.” “God will not birth anything inside of you that He will not give you the tools to deliver.” #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSteve Harvey Morning Show Online: http://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hey Guys, In this episode I explain how to prepare your time, zones, supplies and energy for decluttering your space. If you want deeper support, weekly guidance, and accountability, you can learn more about the Year-Long Program by clicking the link in the show notes. Episode Overview This episode kicks off Bedroom Week on Declutter Your Chaos. Throughout the week, you'll be guided through mindful decluttering sessions for the primary bedroom, with a clear plan so you're not guessing where to start or how to prepare. Before we declutter anything, today's episode focuses on preparation. You'll learn exactly how to set yourself up for success so the guided sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday feel doable, contained, and effective. The mindfulness theme for February is self-worth. If you haven't listened to Episode 346, start there—it explores how self-worth impacts buying habits and how mindfulness helps interrupt that cycle. Today's Focus: How to Prep for Bedroom Decluttering You'll walk through four non-negotiable prep steps that make the actual decluttering sessions work. 1. Choose Your Time These are full decluttering sessions, not quick resets. Guidelines: Block 2–3 hours per session Plan as many sessions as you need for the space. Schedule them within a two-week window Consider: When your energy is highest (morning vs. afternoon) Likely interruptions (kids, partners, responsibilities) Not spacing sessions too far apart—dragging it out leads to frustration and burnout These sessions have a beginning and an end. Think of them like a short race, not a lifestyle you have to maintain forever. 2. Choose Your Zones Break the bedroom into clear, contained sections so each session has a defined focus. This week's zones: Tuesday: Floor (including bins or random items on the floor) Wednesday: Surfaces (dressers, nightstands, vanities) Thursday: Inside furniture (drawers, cabinets, storage inside the bedroom) You can adjust zones to fit your space—left/right sides, under the bed, specific furniture—but each zone should reasonably fit into a 2–3 hour session. 3. Choose Your Supplies You don't need much. Required: Post-its A marker or Sharpie Optional: Bags, boxes, bins, or piles—whatever helps you move quickly Post-its are essential so you can label categories clearly and avoid decision fatigue while you're decluttering. 4. Choose Your Energy This is about physical, mental, and emotional readiness. Get enough sleep Start when you're reasonably energized Shift how you're relating to the space Approach this with curiosity instead of pressure. Treat it as an experiment: What might you learn about yourself? What space might open up? What could become possible once things are cleared? The items you're letting go of belong to the past. The work you're doing is happening in the present—to create room for what comes next. Tomorrow, you'll be guided step-by-step through Zone One. If this episode would help someone you know, share it with them. See you tomorrow. In this episode of the Flex Diet Podcast, I sit down with Denmark-based coach and hybrid athlete Andreas Stobberup to talk about bridging serious strength training with high-level endurance performance. Andreas shares his journey from peaking around 250 lbs with a 405 bench and 600+ squat to dropping to 205 and completing a full Ironman in 9:52—while continuing to coach athletes across disciplines. We discuss the reality gap between amateur and elite performance, how influencer culture often strips context from training advice, and why fundamentals still win: training, nutrition, sleep, and measurable outputs. We break down common misunderstandings around Zone 2 training, why pros don't train the way social media says they do, and how strength athletes can intelligently add conditioning without compromising lifting. We also cover VO₂ max development, microdosing cardio, output-based tracking (times, power, lactate), and how to think about HRV and wearable data in context. If you're interested in hybrid training, improving conditioning without sacrificing muscle, or understanding how to measure what actually matters, this one is packed with practical insight. They explain that most people panic, quit their goals, and then feel even worse. Instead, they tell you to slow down, breathe, and focus on what you can control, like meal prep, water, steps, and protein. They answer a question about wanting to throw your scale across the room. They explain that weight goes up and down for many reasons, and you need more weigh-ins each week to see the real trend. They also talk about why avoiding the scale can backfire later.Next, they talk about “bulk” vs “lean” pre-workout and explain it depends on your goal, but most people don't need different supplements for different phases. Finally, they answer a question about struggling to believe healthy habits can last forever. They remind you that you don't have to do it forever right now. You just have to do it one more day, and keep stacking small wins.Chapters(00:00) Q&A Roundtable Intro and Why People Panic When Life Gets Hard(01:05) Slow Down, Make a Plan, Focus on the Biggest Needle Driver(02:46) Your Reaction to Chaos Can Make Everything Worse(05:10) Client Story: Staying on Track During Stress(08:22) Q1: How to Stop Hating the Scale Every Weigh-In(10:14) Why You Need More Weigh-Ins for Better Data(12:00) The Scale Is Not a Grade for Your Effort(16:08) Maintenance Tip: Keep Weighing In and Set an “Oh Crap” Number(20:05) Q2: Bulk vs Lean Pre-Workout(22:55) Q3: “How Do I Believe This Can Stick for Life?”(25:02) One More Day and Shrink the Habit(29:29) Wrap Up and Submit QuestionsSUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS to be answered on the show: https://forms.gle/B6bpTBDYnDcbUkeD7How to Connect with Us:Chase's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/changing_chase/Chris' Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/conquer_fitness2021/Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/665770984678334/Interested in 1:1 Coaching: https://conquerfitnessandnutrition.com/1on1-coachingJoin The Fit Fam Collective: https://conquerfitnessandnutrition.com/fit-fam-collective

We help B2B brands launch shows that turn their point of view into pipeline. If you're launching a podcast (or have one already) and are not sure how it can hit your bottom line, book a meeting with Jason: https://meetings-eu1.hubspot.com/jason-bradwell/youtube-meeting-link -- Adam Holmgren turned three years of consistent LinkedIn posting into a $700K ARR SaaS business—without cold outbound, without a sales team, and with 80% of growth coming from organic content amplified by thought leader ads. In this episode of Pipe Dream, Adam Holmgren, co-founder and CEO of Fibbler, breaks down exactly how he built an attribution platform for SMBs by first building an audience of 25,000 marketers. Before launching Fibbler in May 2024, Adam spent years developing his point of view on demand generation, paid advertising, and attribution whilst at GetAccept—publishing consistently, giving value, and never asking for anything in return. When he finally launched his product, his audience was ready. Within two months, he had 50 paying customers purely from his network. But Adam didn't stop there. He shares the pivot that changed everything: shifting from organic-only to investing 50% of revenue into thought leader ads, specifically targeting the US market where LinkedIn ad spend is highest. The result? 400-500 signups per month, with 80% directly attributed to organic content plus paid amplification. Adam also reveals his weekend content system, his four content pillars (paid ads, brand building, founder-led growth, and personal), and why he believes distribution and brand are now the only real moats in a world where AI makes product features commoditised. Key Takeaways How to validate demand before launching: Build an audience first by giving value for years without asking for anything—then when you finally ask, conversion rates skyrocket. Why thought leader ads outperform traditional LinkedIn ads: Organic posts that already resonate are "battle-tested"—amplifying them with paid reach to new audiences dramatically improves ROI compared to brand account ads with CTAs. How to structure a sustainable content system: Plan content on weekends around 3-4 clear content pillars, schedule posts for the week, then stay active in comments during weekdays instead of writing on the fly. Why founder-led brands win in crowded markets: With 250,000-300,000 martech solutions available, distribution and brand are the only defensible moats—features alone won't differentiate you. How to convince sceptical executives to invest in brand: Start small, prove early signals (engagement from ICP, content mentioned in sales calls), then scale once you demonstrate pipeline impact over 3-6 months. The perfect LinkedIn post formula: Strong hook that creates curiosity or promises value + tactical insight or lesson learnt + no product pitch (let people discover you organically). The First and Second Letters to Timothy [Nueva York: Doubleday, 2001], p. 164).

I always keep a copy in my pocket, and I share it with people who are curious about our standards. It has been updated and refreshed to better cope with the challenges and temptations of our day. The new version of For the Strength of Youth is available online in 50 different languages and will also be available in print. It will be a significant help for making choices in your life. Please embrace it as your own and share it with your friends. This new version of For the Strength of Youth is subtitled A Guide for Making Choices. To be very clear, the best guide you can possibly have for making choices is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the strength of youth. So the purpose of For the Strength of Youth is to point you to Him. It teaches you eternal truths of His restored gospel—truths about who you are, who He is, and what you can accomplish with His strength. It teaches you how to make righteous choices based on those eternal truths.13 It's also important to know what For the Strength of Youth does not do. It doesn't make decisions for you. It doesn't give you a “yes” or “no” about every choice you might ever face. For the Strength of Youth focuses on the foundation for your choices. It focuses on values, principles, and doctrine instead of every specific behavior. The Lord, through His prophets, has always been guiding us in that direction. He is pleading with us to “increase [our] spiritual capacity to receive revelation.”14 He is inviting us to “hear Him.”15 He is calling us to follow Him in higher and holier ways.16 And we are learning in a similar way every week in Come, Follow Me.     ACU Endorsed Charities -------------------------------------------------------- Pre-Born! EPs can feel overwhelming, emotional, and complicated—and that's because they are.In this episode of The Lucky Few Podcast, we kick off our new season, What I Wish I'd Known About…, by talking about IEPs—what we wish we understood from the very beginning, and what we've learned the hard way.Fresh off a multi-hour meeting, we share honestly about the exhaustion, the tension, and the “us vs. them” dynamic that can creep in. We unpack how evaluations drive goals, how goals drive placement, and why learning the language of the IEP changes everything. We talk about inclusion, evolving expectations, and what it looks like to follow our child's lead as they grow. Most importantly, we remind ourselves—and you—of this:Our kids are not problems to fix.The IEP exists to serve them.Whether this is your first meeting or your fifteenth, we hope this conversation helps you feel more steady, more informed, and less alone.SHOW NOTES:For more practical guidance, we've learned a lot from Ashley Barlow and her work at Ashley Barlow Co.. She offers clear, actionable resources to help you navigate IEPs, strengthen your advocacy skills, and understand your rights—all in one place.Check out more IEP Episodes:78.
