Jonny Miller on Nervous System Mastery, Grief, and Why High Performers Can't Afford to Stay Stuck in Their Heads Your nervous system is running every decision, relationship, and reaction in your life, and you won't notice how much it's costing you until something breaks. This episode gives you the exact framework for building real nervous system mastery instead of running on autopilot until it fails. Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Jonny Miller, host of the Inner Frontier Podcast and founder of Nervous System Mastery, who has taught more than 1,000 people how to build the skills of interoception, self-regulation, and emotional fluidity. A former Silicon Valley founder turned nervous system expert, Jonny brings a rare mix of rational, data-driven thinking and deep somatic work to a field most high performers avoid entirely. They break down why interoception, self-regulation, and emotional fluidity are the three learnable skills behind every major shift in performance, relationships, and decision-making, and why most high achievers have spent their whole lives disconnected from what's happening below the neck. Jonny introduces the half-life of reactivity, his framework for measuring how quickly someone can move from triggered back to calm, and explains how free diving became his gateway into surrender, breath work, and pressure equalization as a form of high-stakes meditation. Dave shares his own parallel journey through nervous system work, including lessons from running 40 Years of Zen and a costly business betrayal that reshaped how he reads people. Dave and Jonny also open up about grief, including Jonny's experience losing his fiancée and later his mother, and how community and co-regulation shape how fast someone actually heals. You'll Learn: Why interoception, self-regulation, and emotional fluidity are the three core skills behind nervous system mastery What the half-life of reactivity is and how to use it to measure real emotional progress How free diving works as a form of high-stakes meditation and a direct feedback loop for unclenching Why congruence between your inner and outer state matters more than staying composed under pressure How team intuition can be used as a practical filter in high-stakes hiring decisions Why co-regulation with friends and community can dramatically shorten the grieving process What Jonny's Breath Buddy device is designed to teach kids and families about nervous system regulation Thank you to our sponsors! - MOD | Visit mod.com for a consultation and get 10% off your first order plus free shipping with promo code DAVE. - ZenBud | Dave's Nervous System Biohack. Jim Kwik on Memory, AI, and Why Natural Intelligence Beats Artificial Intelligence Your brain is quietly outsourcing itself to AI, and you won't notice until it's gone. This episode gives you the exact framework to use artificial intelligence as a tool for brain optimization instead of a crutch that erodes your memory, focus, and critical thinking. Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Jim Kwik, one of the world's leading experts in memory improvement, brain optimization, and accelerated learning. For more than 30 years, Jim has served as the brain coach to professional athletes, political leaders, business magnates, and Hollywood icons, with corporate clients including Google, Nike, SpaceX, and Harvard. He hosts the Kwik Brain podcast with over 100 million downloads, reaches 200,000 people annually through live keynotes, and just wrapped his 14th annual Beyond Biohacking Conference with 5,000 attendees in Austin. Jim overcame a childhood brain injury that left him labeled "learning disabled," and turned that struggle into a mission he calls "no brain left behind." They break down the MIT study showing that people who use AI to write and think score worse on memory and comprehension than those who rely on their own brains, and why that matters for anyone serious about longevity, human performance, and anti-aging. Jim introduces the concept of digital dementia and cognitive sovereignty, explaining how nootropics, neuroplasticity, and functional medicine can support your biology while AI still requires you to keep your own hardware sharp. They cover the MEDS Rx framework for brain optimization: meditation, exercise, diet, sleep optimization, and relationships, plus why mitochondria, metabolism, and inflammation from processed food directly impact your cognitive output. Jim also shares how his own kids use AI as a tutor rather than a replacement for thinking, and why sleep inertia and the first few minutes after waking set the tone for your entire day. This is essential listening for anyone serious about biohacking, hacking their own brain, longevity, neuroplasticity, brain optimization, supplements, and building a Smarter Not Harder approach to human performance in the age of AI. You'll Learn: Why the MIT study found AI users had weaker memory and comprehension than people who did the work themselves What digital dementia and digital deduction are, and how they quietly erode your cognitive muscles How to use AI as an augmented intelligence partner instead of a replacement for critical thinking The MEDS Rx framework for brain optimization: meditation, exercise, diet, sleep, and relationships Why the first few minutes after waking determine your focus and mood for the entire day How spaced repetition and AI-assisted learning can lock in new skills and behavior change faster The HUMAN framework for staying irreplaceable in a world run by algorithms Thank you to our sponsors! - KILLSwitch | If you're ready for the best sleep of your life, order now at https://www.switchsupplements.com/and use code DAVE for 20% off - Neuronic | Go to www.neuronic.online Code DAVE for $100 off - Our Place | Upgrade your kitchen with Our Place today. Dr. Casey Kelley got diagnosed with POTS in medical school after years of fatigue, dizziness, and a heart rate that wouldn't quit. She tried multiple medications — none of them fixed anything. It wasn't until she dug into functional medicine that she discovered her POTS was actually a symptom of adrenal burnout and chronic tick-borne infections. Once she addressed those, the POTS went away. In this conversation, we get into what POTS actually is, why infections and toxins are behind so much of the immune dysfunction we're seeing right now, and the stress you've probably become "nose blind" to. Casey also shares her go-to breathing technique (and why box breathing can backfire), the three foods she pulls first with almost every patient, and the foundational pillars that apply whether you have POTS, autoimmunity, or just want to feel better. If you've ever wondered whether your diagnosis is really the full picture — or you're stuck managing symptoms without understanding why they're there — this one's for you.
Billionaires, millionaires and biohackers are plying themselves with supplements and consulting AI to extend their lives indefinitely. But would you want to live forever? This week, Ellen and Alona are joined by journalist and author Katherine Stewart, who investigates the politics of the longevity movement.Katherine shares her experiences undercover at exclusive longevity conferences, trying supplements and testing her hormone levels. She discusses key figures like Bryan Johnson, the “most measured person in history”, famous for trying to inject himself with his young son's blood, and Palantir's Peter Thiel. She also explains the appeal of “transhumanism”, and argues that the original meaning of “self-care” has been usurped. As the movement marshals deep science and high anxiety, with potions and powders promising detoxes, how much can be trusted? To read Katherine's piece ‘The time I tried to live forever', click here: https://www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/politics/policy/health/74081/the-time-i-tried-to-live-forever Hosted on Acast. This Friday, I had to play back an all-time favorite. I was honored and grateful to bring you a conversation that I recorded in person with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at the Art of Living Center in Los Angeles. Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a leader of an international movement with more than 50 million followers who do breathwork every single morning. He has worked for 40 years as a global ambassador for peace at the highest levels. I did his breathwork exercises every morning without fail for five years while fixing my mind, body and nervous system, and I have a huge amount of respect for his work in the world. It was a joy to chat with him in person and his childlike curiosity, enthusiasm for teaching, and deep understanding of the world are echoed in every word of this episode. Gurudev is a true visionary, so I am grateful that he set aside time to talk with me so I could share his wisdom with you. Quantum Scientist Patrick Coles Reveals How Tumors Protect Your Mitochondria From Toxic Overload Cancer might not be the enemy your doctor says it is. What if tumors are actually your body's emergency detox system, built on purpose to protect you from something far more dangerous? Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Patrick Coles, Ph.D., Chief Scientist at Normal Computing, where he develops novel computing hardware for AI applications. Previously a Staff Scientist at Los Alamos National Lab, Coles led their near-term quantum computing group and made significant contributions to quantum computing theory. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley and a Master of Philosophy in Biochemistry from Cambridge, and he's currently developing a new theory for cancer and chronic disease, the subject of this conversation. His rare combination of hard physics and deep biochemistry gives him a radically different lens on one of medicine's most misunderstood diseases. Coles lays out his Toxin Sequestration Theory, a framework that reframes cancer tumors not as malignant accidents but as intentional storage vaults the body builds to sequester toxins, heavy metals, seed oils, mold, and excess glucose, away from healthy tissue and mitochondria. He and Dave connect the dots between this theory and chronic disease, biohacking fundamentals, and why chemotherapy itself behaves as a toxin that can backfire. They dig into oxalates, deuterium, linoleic acid, circadian biology, and the detox protocols that support the body's natural ability to shrink these toxic reservoirs. This conversation challenges the mainstream genetic theory of cancer, explores the metabolic theory popularized by Thomas Seyfried, and lands on a radical, functional medicine-aligned framework for anyone serious about longevity, anti-aging, and human performance. Dave and Coles also break down how sleep optimization, fasting, ketosis, and a carnivore approach to nutrition support the body's detox hierarchy, from fat tissue and the liver to moles, cysts, and eventually tumors themselves. This is essential listening for anyone serious about biohacking, functional medicine, mitochondria health, brain optimization, nootropics, and taking full control of their metabolism and longevity. What if the pursuit of optimal health is actually making health more complicated than it needs to be?Dr. Jordan Feigenbaum is a physician, competitive strength athlete, coach, and co-founder of Barbell Medicine, where he works to bridge the gap between modern medicine, strength training, and evidence-based health. In this episode, Bryce sits down with Jordan for a wide-ranging conversation about one of the strangest moments in modern wellness.Peptides. Biohacking. Testosterone. GLP-1s. Protein. Pain. Strength. Recovery. Longevity. Health optimization. We have more information, testing, supplements, technology, and “hacks” than ever before…but are we actually getting healthier?Jordan challenges some of the health and fitness beliefs we've accepted as fact and explains why evidence matters, why our bodies may be more resilient than we think, and why getting stronger might still be one of the most powerful health interventions available to us.This isn't about rejecting innovation. It's about learning to separate evidence from enthusiasm.MAJOR TAKEAWAYS• Not all “peptides” are the same. Some peptide medications have strong evidence behind them, while many compounds promoted by biohacking and longevity clinics have little or no quality human evidence.• Biological plausibility isn't the same thing as proof. Something sounding like it should work doesn't mean we've demonstrated that it does.• More health data doesn't automatically create better health.• Strength training remains one of the most accessible and powerful tools we have for improving health, physical capacity, and quality of life.• Pain doesn't always mean damage, and treating the human body as fragile can change how people move, train, and see themselves.• Health shouldn't become an endless pursuit of optimization.• Before searching for the next compound, supplement, wearable, or hack, ask whether you've mastered the fundamentals.• Good science requires being willing to change your mind when better evidence arrives.QUESTIONS WE EXPLOREWhy have peptides exploded in popularity? Are compounds like BPC-157 being promoted faster than the science supports?Have longevity clinics blurred the line between medicine and marketing? When does biohacking become health anxiety? Are we overtesting hormones and testosterone? Are GLP-1 medications fundamentally different from the broader peptide craze?Does pain actually mean your body is damaged?Do we overcomplicate mobility and recovery? How important is strength for longevity? And ultimately…Have we become so obsessed with optimizing health that we've forgotten how to simply be healthy?QUOTES“Evidence and enthusiasm are not the same thing.”“Your body is probably more resilient than you've been taught to believe.”“More information doesn't always create better decisions.”“Before you optimize everything, make sure you've mastered something.”“Health should give you more freedom to live, not more things to worry about.”TIMESTAMPS00:00 – Welcome to ALLSMITH00:00 – Meet Dr. Jordan Feigenbaum00:00 – Medicine meets the barbell00:00 – Why Jordan questions conventional health advice00:00 – The explosion of peptides00:00 – BPC-157 and the evidence problem00:00 – Peptides vs. proven medications00:00 – Has biohacking gone too far?00:00 – Testosterone, hormones & optimization00:00 – GLP-1s, obesity & modern medicine00:00 – Protein myths and nutrition00:00 – Pain doesn't always mean damage00:00 – Are our bodies more resilient than we think?00:00 – Mobility, stretching & recovery00:00 – Strength training as medicine00:00 – What actually matters for longevity?00:00 – Health anxiety and wearable data00:00 – Evidence vs. wellness marketing00:00 – The fundamentals we keep ignoring00:00 – Jordan's non-negotiables for lifelong healthCONCLUSIONThe future of health will undoubtedly bring better technology, medications, diagnostics, and tools. But new doesn't automatically mean better.Jordan's work is a reminder to stay curious without becoming gullible, to question conventional wisdom without rejecting science, and to demand evidence before allowing hype to dictate how we treat our bodies.Maybe the ultimate health hack isn't another injection, supplement, wearable, or protocol.Maybe it's building a strong body, thinking critically, staying connected to people you love, and creating a life you're healthy enough to actually enjoy.JOIN ALLSMITHIf this conversation challenged something you believed, send it to someone who would enjoy wrestling with these ideas too.Subscribe to ALLSMITH on YouTube and follow the show on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. If the show brings value to your life, leaving a rating or review is one of the simplest ways you can help us continue bringing these conversations to more people.Fitness is the vessel. The First Lady of Nutrition Podcast with Ann Louise Gittleman, Ph.D., C.N.S.
Listen Online: About this episode: The First Lady of Nutrition welcomes renowned natural health and Ayurveda expert Dr. John Douillard to uncover what thousands of years of ancient wisdom can teach us about living longer, and why modern science is finally beginning to catch up. From the three Ayurvedic body types (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) to eating with the seasons and working with your natural circadian rhythm, Dr. Douillard explains why some of the smartest longevity “hacks” may not be new at all. Ann Louise and Dr. Douillard also dive into some of today's hottest health topics, including why revving up metabolism later in life may backfire, his concerns about peptides for people with a history of cancer, and why less may be more when it comes to melatonin. Plus, discover the surprising longevity connection between your lymphatic system, nitric oxide, and something most of us do roughly 20,000 times a day: breathe. Dr. Douillard explains why breathing through your nose instead of your mouth can make such a difference—and why he even teaches some of his patients to sleep with their mouths taped shut. Dr. John Douillard, DC, CAP, is a globally recognized leader in natural health, Ayurveda, and sports medicine who has spent decades exploring the science behind ancient healing traditions and translating that wisdom into practical strategies for modern health and longevity. Dave Asprey and Gabby Reece Talk Testosterone Therapy, Scream Cream, Autism as a Superpower, Cancer Protocols, and Surviving Fame in This Double Interview Episode Mega-Episode time! Your hormones might be causing symptoms you've been blaming on aging, stress, or your heart. This double interview episode gives you a real look at biohacking from two different angles: cutting-edge longevity science and the lived experience of hormone optimization after 50. Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Gabby Reece, an American athletic icon, wellness entrepreneur, and one of the most influential voices in women's health, fitness, and performance. A former professional beach volleyball player who became Nike's first female spokesperson and shoe designer, Gabby set volleyball records at Florida State University that still stand today, and her signature Nike shoe line famously outsold Air Jordan during its release. She has since built a career at the intersection of performance and longevity, co-founding Hamilton House, Laird Superfood (NYSE: LSF), XPT, and HIGHX, and hosting both The Gabby Reece Show and the Proof of Practice podcast alongside leading voices in women's health and evidence-based performance. She is also a New York Times bestselling author. In this episode, Gabby turns the tables and interviews Dave herself, creating a rare two-way conversation between two people deeply immersed in human performance and biohacking. Dave and Gabby dig into how mitochondria function as quantum systems that shape everything from cognitive performance to spiritual perception, why autism can come with genuine neurological superpowers, and what actually happens in the body when hormone levels shift after 40. Gabby shares her personal protocol, including weekly testosterone injections, an estradiol patch, and a compounded hormone cream that most people have never heard of, and explains how correcting her hormones, not her thyroid, resolved a heart arrhythmia doctors initially missed. The conversation also covers Dave's approach to cancer protocols, why he avoids GLP-1 drugs despite their longevity benefits, the peptides he actually uses for mitochondrial renewal, and how cyclical ketosis, fasting, and a carnivore-leaning diet fit into a sustainable performance strategy. They also talk about AI's growing role in personalized longevity research, sleep optimization while traveling, and the supplement and functional medicine protocols Dave relies on daily. You'll Learn: Why Gabby's heart arrhythmia turned out to be a hormone problem, not a cardiac one, and how testosterone fixed it when nothing else worked What "scream cream" actually is, how it works through vasodilation, and why doctors quietly prescribe it during hormone replacement therapy How mitochondria function as quantum systems and why improving their function can sharpen intuition, focus, and perception Why Dave believes autism comes paired with real cognitive advantages once the physical burden of the condition is addressed What Dave would actually do if diagnosed with cancer, from antifungal protocols to high-power infrared light and early detection screening The peptides Dave uses for mitochondrial renewal, including SS31 and lesser-known Russian bioregulators like epitalon and pinealon Why Dave avoids GLP-1 drugs despite believing low doses carry real longevity benefits How cyclical ketosis, fasting windows, and a carnivore-leaning diet support sustainable long-term metabolism Why surrender, not control, was the hardest and most expensive lesson of Dave's career Gabby's advice for raising confident daughters and why she believes success is less about deserving it and more about how you steward it Thank you to our sponsors! - Beyond Wonderland Conference | Oct 13 - 14, 2026. Dr. Cory Rice is a board-certified internal medicine physician who went from forensic science to running a functional medicine practice treating tens of thousands of patients in Dallas. In this conversation, we bust three autoimmune myths that keep people stuck — that autoimmune disease is rare, that there's one root cause to find, and that these conditions can't actually improve. We get into why 80% of autoimmune patients are women, what hormones have to do with immune function at every age, and why Dr. Rice went from gut-testing skeptic to making a functional stool analysis mandatory for every single new patient. His take: if the gut isn't sealed, it doesn't matter how clean you eat. If you've been told to just manage your symptoms and accept your diagnosis, this one's for you. We talk about what actually moves the needle — and why hope might be the most important deficiency to address first.

PhenoNet Cleared By FDA To Begin Phase 3 Trial Of Inhaled Alzheimer's Drug PhenoNet has received FDA clearance to begin a Phase 3 trial of PHENOGENE-1A, an inhaled formulation of cromolyn sodium, an asthma drug with decades of safety data. Unlike most Alzheimer's therapies, which target only APOE4 gene carriers, this ~648-person trial stratifies both carriers and non-carriers by genotype, testing whether reducing amyloid aggregation, inflammation, and microglial dysfunction can benefit a broader Alzheimer's population than current treatments reach. Host Dave Asprey explains why this genotype-inclusive design challenges the field's narrow focus on APOE4 carriers, and what it means for families with Alzheimer's history who don't carry the gene. The discovery overturns the long-standing assumption that adult brains have limited capacity to replace lost astrocytes after injury or autoimmune disease. Host Dave Asprey unpacks why this finding reframes brain injury recovery as something the body may already be equipped to handle, and what the newly identified genetic pathways could mean for future regenerative therapies. While collagen produced more total bone volume, the keratin scaffold generated bone that was more structurally organized and closer to natural bone architecture, while remaining stable and integrating cleanly with surrounding tissue. Host Dave Asprey explains why bone quality, not just quantity, matters for weight-bearing repair, and why a cheaper, more sustainable material outperforming the standard is a bigger deal than it sounds. Host Dave Asprey weighs the compliance advantage of an oral option against his ongoing concerns about muscle loss, rebound weight gain, and the fact that GLP-1 drugs treat a symptom rather than the underlying metabolic cause. A 2024 University of Iowa study found IV vitamin C combined with chemotherapy doubled overall survival in advanced pancreatic cancer patients. If you've ever thought, "I'll deal with my health once I actually feel sick," I want you to know something: That's how so many people lose their vitality. Between feeling well and being diagnosed, there is a whole world of clues. Fatigue. Poor sleep. Stress that never quite turns off. A body that still functions… but has no reserve left. In this episode, I'm joined by Marina Moiseyeva, founder of Harmonious Life Family Health Clinic in Brooklyn, New York. Marina is a family wellness practitioner with nearly 17 years of experience and more than 50,000 consultations. She started in holistic health coaching, moved into integrative functional medicine, and now runs a longevity and biohacking clinic that serves kids, adults, and entire families. Together, we talk about what actually stands between you and feeling your best, why so much of modern "stress" starts in your physiology, and why the most powerful biohacks are often the simplest ones. If you've been chasing optimization, supplements, or the latest trend and still feel depleted, this conversation will help you come back to what actually builds resilience. In This Episode, We Cover: Why people wait until they're debilitated before they get help The hidden "in-betweens" between being well and being sick How sleep and stress quietly drain every system in the body Why coffee and a high-carb breakfast can make you feel anxious Why oatmeal, smoothies, and intermittent fasting don't work for everyone What biohacking actually means (and why it isn't only for the ultra-wealthy) Why vitality is about function and resilience—not perfect wearable scores How to use bloodwork as motivation, not just a diagnosis Why women in perimenopause need a different approach than men The cheap biohacks that make the biggest difference Why sleep should never be the thing you compromise Creatine hydrochloride as a simple support for brain, bone, and muscle How to change one habit at a time without burning out Why food is first-line therapy A Message I Want You to Hear You do not have to wait for a diagnosis to start taking care of yourself. You do not need the most expensive protocol. You do not need to biohack like a celebrity. You need the courage to notice the small signals now—before they become something bigger. Your body is always giving you information. The question is whether you're listening. The In-Between of Wellness Most of us were taught to see a doctor when we can't function anymore. When the pain is debilitating. When daily life is already falling apart. Marina says that's far too late. Between well and sick, there are clues. Hints. In-betweens. A little less energy. A little more stress. Sleep that isn't quite restorative. Those early signs are not nothing. They are your opportunity to rebalance before the body is forced into disease, imbalance, or a diagnosis. Why You Feel Stressed Even When Life Looks Fine We assume stress is always emotional. A hard season. Too many hats. Work, kids, a business, a never-ending to-do list. And yes, that kind of stress is real. But Marina makes an important distinction: Sometimes you feel stressed because your physiology is stressed. If you wake up and drink black coffee in the first hour, you can push your body into fight-or-flight before the day has even started. If breakfast is a croissant, cereal, a fruit-heavy smoothie, or even oatmeal while you sit at a desk, you can spike insulin, raise cortisol, and feel anxious for no "good" reason. The food you eat in the morning can support your nervous system. Or it can work against it. That's why she doesn't treat stress as a personality problem. She looks at the routine. Sleep. Meal timing. Protein. Life stage. Because what worked in your 20s and 30s is often not what will support you in your 40s and 50s—especially as a woman. Biohacking Is Simpler Than You Think Biohacking can sound mysterious. Blue-blocking glasses. Red light. Expensive gadgets. Extreme protocols. Marina's definition is much simpler. Biohacking is changing your behavior—your lifestyle, your food, your movement, your bedtime—so you feel better. A better sleep routine is biohacking. Choosing a workout that actually suits your body is biohacking. Using a nutrient that supports your energy is biohacking. You do not need to live like Bryan Johnson. You do not need a perfect HRV score. Wearables can be useful, but the "healthy average" they are based on still includes a lot of people with health issues. The real win is your own improvement. If your HRV was 15 and now it's 25, that is progress. Don't chase someone else's number. Chase your own resilience. Vitality Means Function—Not Perfect Scores We are living longer. That part is not up for debate. The question is how we live those years. Marina's picture of vitality is this: You want to be able to go to the gym the day before you die. Not because fitness is the only measure of a life. Because vitality is function. It's health resilience. It's the ability to keep doing the things that make life feel like yours. Arthritis at 55. Exhaustion. "That's just aging." Some of those things are more optional than we've been told. They take effort. They take personalized care. But the goal isn't to collect more data. The goal is to stay capable. Sleep Is Your Best Biohack If Marina had to pick one place to start, it would be sleep. She used to run on four or five hours a night for decades. She thought she was fine. No midday crash. No obvious brain fog. Then she experimented with seven hours. And she felt the difference. That's the trap. A lot of people say they have no health concerns. Then the bloodwork tells a different story. By the time a conventional marker is flagged, the imbalance has often been building for years. So start with the foundation that costs almost nothing: Get to bed before midnight. Aim for at least seven hours of uninterrupted sleep in a dark room. Keep the room around 70 degrees. Put the phone on Wi-Fi or off. Blackout curtains. Women often need closer to seven to nine hours. And if you feel like you "can't function" without eight hours, Marina's response is simple: You're normal. Don't steal from sleep to make room for a 5 a.m. workout, fasting, and a cold plunge. That combination can look like the perfect protocol. For a woman in her 40s, it can also be the reason her cycle disappears. Sleep is not the thing you compromise so you can do more biohacks. Sleep is the biohack. If you do have an occasional short night, Marina's inexpensive support is creatine hydrochloride—not the monohydrate form that can make some women feel puffy. She uses it for brain sharpness, and she also likes it for bone, muscle, and liver support. But even that is an add-on. The core is still darkness, timing, and enough hours. Stop Chasing Trends Healthy intentions can still ruin your health. A perfect workout on five hours of sleep. Intermittent fasting that doesn't match your hormones. A cold plunge because it's popular. Coffee before your body has even woken up. Ten goals at once, then the feeling that you failed. Marina's approach is the opposite of all-or-nothing. Food is medicine. You take that "medicine" at least three times a day. So nutrition is first-line therapy—not something you try to out-supplement later. She has patients list ten lifestyle changes they already know they should make. Then they rank them from easiest to hardest. And they start with the easiest one. Warm water. Not drinking coffee in the first hour. One small, doable shift. If you change one habit every two months, you can have six solid habits by the end of the year. That's how resilience is built. Not through the loudest protocol. Through the one you can actually keep. Your Action Step Pick one thing. Not ten. Not a full biohacking stack. One. Protect your sleep this week. Get to bed before midnight. Make the room dark. Give yourself seven hours. Or, if sleep is already solid, choose the next easiest habit: delay your coffee, add protein at breakfast, or stop eating too close to bed. Then notice how you feel. That's the data that matters. Final Thoughts You don't need a more extreme version of health. You need a more sustainable one. Your sleep. Your stress. Your food. Your season of life. Those are the foundations of vitality. Optimization is optional. Resilience is not. Keep listening to your body. Your energy matters. Piracetam, Racetams & Nootropics: Dave Asprey on the Original Smart Drug, Brain Optimization and How to Biohack Memory, Focus and Cognitive Decline We're excited to bring you another Dave solo education masterclass, this one breaking down the molecule that started the entire nootropics industry: Racetams Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey pulls back the curtain on piracetam and the racetam family, the original nootropics that quietly built the foundation for modern human performance and brain optimization. As the father of biohacking and someone who has taken racetams almost every single day for 25 years, Dave brings firsthand experience most experts simply don't have. He built two Bulletproof-era companies and led the biohacking movement while running this stack daily, and in this episode, he shares exactly how it worked for him. Dave traces the strange 1964 Belgian lab discovery that forced scientists to invent the word "nootropic" in the first place, then breaks down how these compounds shift acetylcholine, glutamate, and AMPA signaling to improve memory, focus, and neuroplasticity without touching dopamine or spiking your heart rate. He covers the mitochondria and membrane fluidity mechanisms behind the anti-aging and longevity effects, walks through dosing for all five major racetams, and explains who actually benefits versus who's wasting their money. This is essential listening for anyone serious about biohacking, human performance, functional medicine, and brain optimization. Whether you're stacking supplements for sleep optimization, exploring fasting and ketosis for metabolism, or just trying to think clearer without sacrificing your health, this episode hands you a real framework for hacking cognitive decline before it starts. You'll Learn: Why piracetam forced scientists to invent the term "nootropic" and what actually qualifies as one How racetams change acetylcholine, glutamate, and AMPA signaling without acting like a stimulant The link between racetams, mitochondria, and neuroplasticity, and why it matters for anti-aging Dosing breakdowns for piracetam, aniracetam, oxiracetam, pramiracetam, and phenylpiracetam Who benefits most: aging brains, stroke recovery, athletes, and anyone flying frequently How to stack racetams with choline, Danger Coffee, and other supplements the smarter not harder way The regulatory mess keeping safe, tested nootropics out of reach in the US Thank you to our sponsors! - ALP | Head to http://alppouch.com/ and use code DAVE for 20% off your first order. - Pique | Head over to Piquelife.com/Dave to get 20% off your order. - OneSkin | Get 15% off OneSkin with the code DAVE at https://www.oneskin.co/DAVE #oneskinpod Dave Asprey is a four-time New York Times bestselling author, founder of Bulletproof Coffee, and the father of biohacking. Can you earn an IFBB Fit Model Pro Card naturally?Yes.But the better question is: are you willing to wait long enough? In this episode, I'm talking about what it actually takes to build a pro-level physique naturally — and why the biggest limitation for many women may not be their genetics, but their willingness to accept the timeline.Natural bodybuilding takes time.Multiple growth seasons. Years of progressive training. Getting stronger. Spending periods of time softer than you might prefer. And continuing to build when there's no immediate reward for the work you're putting in.Meanwhile, we're living in a culture obsessed with making everything faster.PEDs. Peptides. GLP-1s. Biohacking. Optimization. This isn't about demonizing any of them. It's about asking whether we're using these tools because they genuinely align with our goals — or because we've become unwilling to wait.In this episode, we talk about:→ Whether an IFBB Fit Model Pro Card is achievable naturally→ Genetics, training age, and your starting point→ Why Fit Model is different from Bikini and Wellness→ The reality of natural muscle growth→ Why staying lean year-round can work against physique development→ PEDs, peptides, GLP-1s, and shortcut culture→ The long-term tradeoffs of speeding up the process→ Fertility and future-life considerations→ The question I think every woman should ask before deciding to enhanceI'd rather help someone become exceptional naturally over five years than average with drugs in eighteen months.Because sometimes you don't need a better shortcut. You need to decide whether the goal matters enough to give it the time it actually requires.———READY TO BUILD A BODY YOU CAN ACTUALLY MAINTAIN?If you want to get leaner and stronger without constantly starting over, living by extreme rules, or making fitness the center of your life, my 1:1 coaching is built for exactly that.We create the training, nutrition, structure, and consistency systems that work in your real life — not just when everything goes perfectly.APPLY FOR 1:1 COACHING ↓https://calendly.com/elenoa-mccabe/30min

UFOs, UAPs, Non-Human Contact & Zero-Point Energy: Dr. Steven Greer on Government Disclosure, Consciousness and the Truth About Extraterrestrial Intelligence Get ready to have your entire understanding of reality challenged. This episode reveals the science behind non-human intelligence contact, the physics of consciousness, and why the biggest secret in human history could rewrite everything you know about energy, medicine, and human potential. Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Dr. Steven Greer, a retired emergency physician and founder of the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence. For over 35 years, Dr. Greer has briefed CIA directors, Pentagon officials, and members of Congress on UFO disclosure, built an archive of more than 750 whistleblower testimonies, and pioneered the CE5 Contact protocol used to initiate peaceful contact with non-human craft. His firsthand experiences, government-level access, and decades of documented research make him one of the most credible voices in the disclosure movement. Dr. Greer and Dave dive into the science of consciousness as a nonlocal field, the zero-point energy technology he believes has been suppressed for 70 years, and how mastering this "hacking" of physics could eliminate scarcity, extend human longevity, and unlock forms of neuroplasticity and human performance most people have never considered. They explore near-death experiences, precognitive dreams, remote viewing, and the idea that a small percentage of people practicing deep meditative states can shift collective consciousness at scale. The conversation also touches on how corruption, fear, and disinformation have kept transformative technology out of public hands, and what it would take for humanity to responsibly manage a disclosure that changes everything. This is essential listening for anyone into biohacking, human performance, consciousness exploration, longevity, functional medicine, and understanding how the mind and unseen fields of energy shape human potential. You'll Learn: Why Dr. Greer believes the U.S. government has had access to anti-gravity and zero-point energy technology since the 1950s How consciousness functions as a nonlocal field and what that means for human potential and neuroplasticity The real story behind the Roswell crash and its connection to nuclear weapons testing How meditation and altered states may unlock remote viewing and precognitive ability Why Dr. Greer believes only 1% of a population practicing coherent consciousness can shift outcomes for the other 99% What it would take to responsibly disclose suppressed energy technology without global economic collapse How fear-based narratives and disinformation campaigns have shaped public perception of non-human contact Thank you to our sponsors! - Qualia | Go to qualialife.com/ASPREY for 50% off, and use code ASPREY for an additional 15% off. - ZenBud | Dave's Nervous System Biohack. In the health and wellness space, we often focus on the dangers of not having enough healthy habits. Especially in today's culture, it's common to not exercise enough, or to not eat enough healthy foods. But what about on the other side of spectrum? Today, we're going to explore the risks of obsessive healthy habits and the stress that can surround self-optimization. Today's guest is New York Times bestselling author and biohacking expert, Ben Greenfield. Ben is back on The Model Health Show to share some of the revolutions he's had about finding balance and shifting his focus to what truly matters in life. You're going to learn about how certain exercise types can have diminishing returns, the importance of having clear priorities, and how to find true fulfillment in your life. If you've ever struggled with excessive exercise or extremism in any way, Ben's insights will help you find balance and peace. We're going to discuss building self-awareness, having the right dosage of healthy habits, and how to find self-worth and identity outside of self-optimization. I hope you enjoy this interview with Ben Greenfield! In this episode you'll discover: The diminishing returns of endurance exercise. (4:38) How much physical activity is optimal for cardiovascular health. (6:22) The importance of finding balance in a healthy lifestyle. (10:44) Why we should engage in more human-powered commuting. (12:22) How changing your mentality about movement can benefit you. (17:04) The story of how Ben had to change his priorities. (20:19) Three important things that Ben changed to find fulfillment. (25:45) What looksmaxxing is. (37:16) The specific metrics and behaviors to prioritize for health and longevity. (42:45) How to create healthy boundaries around exercise. What if the peptide you just ordered online isn't wrong — it's just wrong for you? In Episode 2 of our peptides series, clinical pharmacist Dr. Melissa Jones takes us inside the actual decision-making process providers use to match a peptide to a patient, and why skipping that process is how people end up wasting money, or worse, hurting themselves. Host Jamie Preston and Dr. Jones dig into the real science: what a peptide is, how peptides signal the body, and why a healthy foundation — hormones and gut health — has to come before any peptide is even considered. From there, they cover the wide menu of options (tissue repair, skin and hair, sexual health, growth hormone support, metabolic health, sleep and stress) and what it actually means to “stack” or “cycle” peptides responsibly. In this episode, you'll hear: Why there isn't — and won't be — one peptide that does it all, and what that means for how providers build a plan How stacking and cycling actually work, and where cost becomes a real factor in the decision The difference between FDA-approved peptide uses (like Tesamorelin for visceral fat) and the anecdotal dosing happening across the wellness world The real danger in reconstituting and self-dosing peptides ordered online, explained in plain terms What responsible, supervised GLP-1 (Mounjaro, Ozempic, tirzepatide) therapy looks like — and what goes wrong with compounded, unregulated versions The specific list of patients who should avoid peptides or use extra caution, and why providers need to know it cold If you've ever wondered whether a peptide could actually help you — or wondered what your provider is really weighing before saying yes — this episode gives you the real answer, not the Instagram version. www.YourHealth.Org
Are you a mom who has put her own health on the back burner because someone else needs you more? Or maybe you're caring for a child with autism or an aging parent and have no idea where to even begin when it comes to your own wellbeing? We cover: What 21 years of caring for a child with autism actually taught one mom about the human body Why caregivers are silently aging faster and what to do about it before it's too late The biological layers underneath an autism diagnosis that most doctors never address The specific blood labs that need to be optimized that could be the first domino for both you and your child What really happens when you stop sacrificing your health and start treating yourself like a patient too Nadia Elkhatib hosts Biohacking Autism, a weekly podcast bringing biohacking, peptides, and functional medicine to autism families. Nadia spent years working in Silicon Valley tech before her son Jimmy's autism diagnosis pulled her into a different kind of research entirely. For 19 years she has worked on the integrative side of autism: biomedical protocols and most recently hormone and thyroid optimization. After her own labs surfaced significant metabolic and hormonal dysfunction, she expanded her work into caregiver longevity, the recognition that her own healthspan is her son's safety net. Real solutions for people with autism and the ones who love them. Functional wellness practitioner Hali Laricey reads standard lab work through a functional lens — and she's really good at finding answers in the labs your doctor stamped "normal." In this episode, we zero in on the CBC with differential, one of the cheapest and most common blood tests out there, and how its five markers can reveal chronic infections, immune stress, and early signs of autoimmune flares. Hali walks through each marker — neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils — with the functional ranges she uses and why they're tighter than what your lab report flags. She also explains why pulling three to five years of labs from your patient portal matters way more than any single draw, and shares a simple ratio you can track on your own to watch for flares. If you've ever left a doctor's appointment holding "normal" labs while still feeling terrible, this one's for you. You'll walk away knowing exactly what to request and what to look for.

Subtitle: A Nasal Spray Longevity Screen, Why Less Protein May Age You Better, Cadaver Skin Injectables, Art's Effect on Biological Age, and Which Anti-Aging Interventions Actually Move the Needle Nasal Spray Ingredient Emerges As Unexpected Longevity Candidate In Massive Drug Screen Researchers mapped 2,358 longevity-associated genes across the body's broader protein and signaling networks, then screened 6,442 approved drugs to see which ones nudged those aging pathways in a healthier direction. Oxymetazoline, the active ingredient in nasal sprays like Afrin, was among 21 standout candidates, with a predicted pathway running through the ACKR3 receptor and connecting to major aging proteins including NF-kB, TP53, and AKT1. Host Dave Asprey explains why this computational screen is a promising research lead rather than a protocol, and why chronic use of a vasoconstricting nasal spray carries real risks regardless of what a network analysis suggests. Researchers point to FGF21, a liver hormone that rises under protein or amino acid scarcity and boosts energy expenditure and glucose regulation, as a key mechanism. Host Dave Asprey breaks down why blanket protein advice fails older adults preserving muscle and highly active people just as badly as it fails everyone else, and why matching intake to actual biology beats maximizing protein at every meal. Human-derived tissue matrices already have a track record in burn and wound care, but this specific product is not yet FDA-approved and lacks comparative trial data against existing fillers. Host Dave Asprey separates legitimate regenerative medicine from a novel cosmetic product still waiting on long-term safety and consistency data. Benefits appeared whether people were actively creating art or simply attending performances and exhibits. Host Dave Asprey argues this expands what counts as a health input beyond molecules and devices, since novelty, meaning, and social connection influence the nervous system too. Semaglutide produced the strongest single result, slowing DunedinPACE by about nine percent in a trial of adults with HIV-associated fat redistribution, though a separate fatty liver study produced mixed outcomes. Host Dave Asprey explains why a strong mechanistic story does not guarantee a moved biomarker, and why clinical outcomes, functional measures, and safety data all matter alongside any single clock reading. EPISODE 749 - Nicole Ward - Bio-hacking for the Sales Athlete - For Executives, sales leaders, founders, and anyone performing at a high levelAuthor and corporate executive Nicole Ward joins from Los Angeles to share how a late in life wake up call transformed her health, career, and now her work as an author and podcaster. She describes never really seeing herself as an author until, in her early fifties, inspiration suddenly “volcanoed” into a book idea that connected three areas of expertise in a way she had never seen before. Once she was clear on what she wanted to say, the writing process became energizing rather than intimidating, helped by an editor who protected her natural voice while shaping the manuscript.Nicole explains why she chose to self publish, after being told traditional publishers might take years to bring her book to market. Encouraged by other authors, she invested strategically in professional editing, book design, and a second editorial review to ensure the book looked and read at a high level. She also built a personal advisory board of thirteen people from diverse backgrounds, asking them for blunt, honest feedback that led to key improvements and helped her refine the final version. At the heart of the conversation is Nicole's broader mission: The Executive Athlete. Drawing on her career working with C suite leaders and board members, she is focused on “bringing consciousness to power” by helping high level decision makers regulate their health, manage stress, and extend their healthspan. She demystifies biohacking as simply using data, tools, and targeted supplementation to understand your unique biology and age as well as possible, not as an extreme lifestyle reserved for tech billionaires. Her own journey began when, at thirty five, she was sixty pounds overweight, inflamed, exhausted, and so overworked that after rolling her SUV she worried more about missing a meeting than the accident itself.Nicole shares practical, accessible strategies for busy professionals, like “exercise snacking” small bursts of movement with bands, light weights, or stairs throughout the day that can add up to real fitness without a 5 a.m. workout. She stresses that supplements are meant to augment, not replace, fundamentals like sleep, nutrition, and recovery, and that meaningful change comes from choosing one or two realistic actions instead of trying to overhaul everything at once. This same ethos shapes her two podcasts: Aon at the Top, where she interviews mid market corporate leaders about their path to the C suite, and The Executive Athlete, focused on executives who prioritize health, wellness, and longevity.Speaking directly to listeners who feel stuck, unhealthy, or like they always put themselves last, Nicole is candid about once being a “quitter” with her health and pushing it to the bottom of her priority list. She underscores that change is possible at any age by taking small, consistent steps, honoring commitments to yourself, and giving yourself grace when you fall short. Her before and after story, now documented in her book and content, illustrates how rebuilding your health can not only transform your body but also your confidence, leadership, and capacity to show up fully for your family, colleagues, and community.https://www.nicoleelizabethward.com/Support the show___https://livingthenextchapter.com/podcast produced by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/Coffee Refills are always appreciated, refill Dave's cup here, and thanks!https://buymeacoffee.com/truemediaca
The Orgasm Code: How Pleasure Rewires Your Nervous System for Longevity & Healing | Regena Thomashauer (Mama Gena) Most people think pleasure is a distraction from performance. This episode proves the opposite: your orgasm is a biohacking tool wired directly into your nervous system, your hormones, and your longevity. Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Regena Thomashauer, known worldwide as Mama Gena, founder and CEO of the School of Womanly Arts and a New York Times bestselling author. For over three decades she has taught hundreds of thousands of women how to reclaim pleasure as a source of power, and her work has redefined what modern feminism and embodiment look like in practice. Dave and Regena break down the actual biology behind orgasm: the oxytocin, prolactin, and endorphin cascade that shifts the body out of fight or flight and into repair, the role of sleep optimization in processing trauma, and how chronic disconnection from pleasure keeps people stuck in survival mode instead of human performance mode. They dig into semen retention research and its link to longevity and anti-aging, why shame around the body blocks neuroplasticity and emotional healing, and how learning to regulate arousal, rage, and surrender is its own form of nervous system hacking. This is a masterclass in reclaiming a part of your biology most people were never taught to understand, let alone optimize. This is essential listening for anyone serious about biohacking, human performance, brain optimization, functional medicine, longevity, and building a body and mind that can hold more pleasure, more power, and more presence. You'll Learn: How orgasm triggers an oxytocin, prolactin, and endorphin cascade that lowers cortisol and drives real nervous system repair Why the Daoist approach to semen retention is tied to longevity and anti-aging in men How chronic shame and disconnection from the body block neuroplasticity and keep trauma stuck The link between sleep optimization, hormone regulation, and processing deep emotional wounds How to move rage and grief through the body instead of suppressing them Why relaxation, not effort, is the real key to expanding pleasure and human performance How devotional presence between partners creates measurable shifts in nervous system state Thank you to our sponsors! - ECHO Water | Go to http://echowater.com/daveand use code DAVE10 for 10% off your ECHO Flask. - Suppgrade Labs | Get real restorative sleep with Quiet Mode. Most of us assume that losing energy, struggling to sleep and taking longer to recover are simply inevitable parts of getting older. But what if they're not?Executive performance coach Drew Griesel believes many people are paying what he calls The Hidden Performance Tax - a slow, almost invisible decline in energy, focus and resilience that develops over years and eventually feels "normal."In this interview with Peter Bowes he explains why improving healthspan should come before pursuing longevity, why sleep quality may be the single most important driver of performance, and why the fundamentals - movement, nutrition, hydration and recovery - still matter more than the latest biohacks. The Gut-Lung Axis: The Missing Link in Chronic Inflammation & Aging | Dr. Vivek Lal Your lungs have a microbiome, and almost no one is talking about it. This episode reveals the hidden pathway behind asthma, chronic inflammation, and slow aging, and gives you a science-backed way to biohack your breath from the inside out. Get A generous discount on Resbiotic by going to: https://resbiotic.com/ and using code ‘DAVE20' Host Dave Asprey sits down with Dr. Vivek Lal, MD, FAAP, a double board-certified physician scientist who discovered the gut-lung axis while running the Pulmonary Microbiome Lab at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He serves as Director of Clinical Innovation at UAB's Marnix Heersink Institute of Biomedical Innovation and trained in pulmonary and vascular biology at UT Southwestern before completing MIT's executive program in drug and device development. As a serial entrepreneur through his venture studio Biostack Ventures, he founded and now serves as CEO of Resbiotic Nutrition, and also launched Alveolus Bio, an FDA-track pulmonary drug development company. His decade of research turned into the world's first probiotic built specifically for respiratory health. Dave and Vivek break down MMP-9, the overlooked inflammatory pathway that drives collagen breakdown, chronic lung disease, and accelerated aging throughout the body. There is one molecule your body already makes that helps protect your cells from aging, but your production of it drops as you get older. In this video, I explain why glutathione is known as the body's master antioxidant and why it plays a critical role in cellular defense, mitochondrial energy, immune regulation, and liver detoxification. You'll discover why aging is not just your body “wearing out,” but the slow breakdown of your internal repair and antioxidant defense systems. You'll also learn:-Why oxidative stress damages mitochondria and accelerates aging-How glutathione helps protect cells from daily stress-Why your liver uses huge amounts of glutathione for detox support-The difference between oral, liposomal, IV, and topical glutathione-Why delivery matters if you want your body to actually use it-How to stack glutathione with sleep, protein, sunlight, training, and saunaTry Danger Creatine: https://dangercoffee.com/products/danger-creatineTry TrueDark glasses: https://truedark.comTry Danger Coffee: https://dangercoffee.com/discount/davetubeTry Suppgrade Labs: https://shopsuppgradelabs.com/Thank you to our sponsors!ECHO Water | Go to http://echowater.com/daveand use code DAVE10 for 10% off your ECHO Flask. The One Device | Use code DAVE for $10 off at theonedevice.com/daveiRestore | Reverse hair loss at www.irestore.com/DAVE and get exclusive savings on the iRestore Elite, use code DAVE00:00 – Intro: The Anti-Aging Molecule02:59 – The Vicious Decline Cycle04:15 – Step 1: Lower Oxidative Load05:00 – Step 2: Support Mitochondria05:41 – Introducing Glutathione08:54 – Oral & Liposomal Glutathione10:02 – IV Glutathione10:17 – Topical/Transdermal Delivery11:23 – The Glutaryl Solution12:47 – Daily Routine & Final ThoughtsConnect with Dave Asprey!Website: https://daveasprey.comTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@daveaspreyofficialInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/dave.asprey/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Daveaspreyofficial/X: https://x.com/daveaspreyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/daveaspreybprThe Human Upgrade Podcast: https://www.instagram.com/TheHumanUpgradePodcast/ https://m.facebook.com/Thehumanupgrade/Dave Asprey's BEYOND Conference: https://beyondconference.com/Dave Asprey's New Book - Heavily Meditated: https://daveasprey.com/heavily-meditated/Dave's favorite supplements: https://www.shopsuppgradelabs.com/discount/DAVE15Upgrade Labs: https://upgradelabs.com40 Years of Zen: https://40yearsofzen.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Viagra's Cancer Signal, TV's Toll on Your Brain, Heat and Accelerated Aging, and a New Way to Flush Your Brain Explained Viagra's Active Ingredient May Block Cancer From Spreading A study published in Cancer Research from the Weizmann Institute of Science, in collaboration with Clalit and the U.S. National Cancer Institute, found that sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, may interfere with cancer cells' ability to metastasize by disrupting how they regulate cholesterol, a resource tumors need to detach and invade new tissue. The team combined mouse models and human cell cultures with more than twenty years of medical records covering roughly five million people, and found better survival outcomes among about forty thousand cancer patients who had taken sildenafil before diagnosis. Researchers also flagged a possible combination effect with statins. Host Dave Asprey breaks down why this cheap, off-patent drug class deserves more attention than it's getting, and where it fits alongside his own longevity protocol. Source: https://www.healthline.com/health-news/viagra-may-stop-cancer-from-spreading-study ~~ Heavy TV Watching In Midlife Tied To Alzheimer's-Related Brain Changes A nearly twenty-four-year study published in Alzheimer's & Dementia followed more than 1,700 adults, tracking TV habits in their early fifties and scanning their brains in their mid-seventies. Men who watched more TV showed greater white matter damage and smaller frontal and occipital lobes, while women showed no such association. Critically, people with desk jobs that kept them sedentary all day did not show the same brain changes, and the TV association held even after adjusting for exercise levels. Host Dave Asprey unpacks why passive screen time, not sitting itself, may be the real driver here. Sources: https://www.the-independent.com/life-style/tv-time-linked-alzheimers-study-b3023054.html https://alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/alz.71582 ~~ Ambient Heat Exposure Linked To Faster Biological Aging A Science Advances study of 3,686 older adults linked neighborhood-level heat index exposure to accelerated biological aging using DNA methylation clocks. Short-term heat exposure moved one clock significantly, while exposure sustained over a full year or six years moved all major clocks, with extreme-caution heat days tied to nearly a three-year jump in one aging measure and a five percent faster overall aging pace on another. Researchers point to inflammation and stress signaling as likely drivers. Host Dave Asprey explains why this is a fundamentally different kind of heat story than the sauna and cold-plunge conversation biohackers are used to. Source: https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.adr0616 ~~ Industrial Chicken Farming May Be Accelerating The Spread Of Drug-Resistant Bacteria A genomic analysis of nearly 2,800 bacterial samples from chickens and wild birds across thirty countries, published in PNAS and covered by The Guardian, found a roughly hundredfold increase in Campylobacter strain transitions between wild birds and farmed chickens since 1900. Global chicken populations have grown sevenfold since the 1960s to about 27 billion birds, and researchers identified genetic adaptations tied to antimicrobial resistance developing inside that population. Sixty to eighty percent of human Campylobacter infections trace back to raw chicken, with links to post-infectious IBS in some cases. Host Dave Asprey connects the dots between industrial farming density and the gut-health stakes for anyone who eats chicken. Sources: https://www.theguardian.com/food/2026/jul/27/industrial-chicken-farming-accelerating-spread-of-diarrhoea-bacteria-study-finds https://doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2609969123 ~~ VA Researchers Develop Breathing-Based "Brain Flush" For Parkinson's And Alzheimer's VA researchers led by Dr. Henry Lin found a way to trigger the brain's glymphatic clearance system, normally active during deep sleep, in people who are awake, using alternating puffs of five percent carbon dioxide and room air every thirty-five seconds. In a study of thirty Parkinson's patients and thirty-three healthy controls, a single thirty-minute session produced measurable increases in blood levels of beta-amyloid, alpha-synuclein, and other waste proteins associated with neurodegeneration. The VA's Technology Transfer Program is now developing a patent and prototype device. Host Dave Asprey explains why this gives breathwork protocols a real physiological mechanism instead of just a hunch. Source: https://www.research.va.gov/currents/0426-Exciting-new-treatment-being-developed-for-Parkinsons-Alzheimers.cfm ~~~ This episode is designed for biohackers, longevity enthusiasts, and high-performance listeners who want mechanism-level insights into an overlooked cancer drug repurposing story, the real difference between passive and active screen time, a new angle on heat as a biological stressor, the hidden gut-health cost of industrial poultry farming, and a breathing technique that may unlock your brain's own detox system. You've probably tried everything to sleep better. Magnesium. Melatonin. Blackout curtains. Maybe even expensive sleep gadgets. But what if the real reason your sleep feels broken has nothing to do with any of those things? In this video, Dave Asprey explains a hidden biological process that controls whether your body stays in stress mode at night… or finally switches into deep recovery mode. He breaks down why so many people wake up exhausted, why cortisol stays elevated while you sleep, and why your body may never fully enter repair mode even if you're technically asleep. You'll learn how one overlooked habit affects your brain, metabolism, recovery, heart rate, and overnight repair systems, plus the surprising research that showed dramatic changes in sleep quality from a single adjustment. Artificial Sweeteners & Cognitive Decline, Myosteatosis on Coronary CT, Merck's Oral PCSK9 Inhibitor, Cyclospora Outbreak, Gut-Brain Synchronization, and the Banana Smoothie Mistake Explained Artificial Sweeteners Linked To 62% Faster Cognitive Decline In Landmark Brazilian Study A study tracking more than 12,700 adults (average age 52) over eight years found that people consuming the most artificial and low-calorie sweeteners, roughly 191 mg a day, about what's in a single can of diet soda, showed cognitive decline 62% faster than the lowest-intake group, equivalent to 1.6 extra years of brain aging, with memory hit hardest. Six of the seven sweeteners tested, including aspartame, saccharin, and acesulfame K, were linked to faster decline; tagatose was the lone exception. Researchers point to gut-microbiome disruption, altered glucose and insulin signaling, and possible direct neuronal effects as plausible mechanisms. Host Dave Asprey breaks down why a dose this small was enough to move the curve, why tagatose deserves more scrutiny before being called "safe," and where diet products' short-term weight-loss marketing conveniently ignores the long-term cost to your brain. Source: https://www.inc.com/kevin-haynes/study-links-cognitive-decline-to-surprisingly-small-daily-amount-of-artificial-sweeteners/91376522 ~~ AI Analysis Of 1,722 Heart Scans Finds Muscle Quality Predicts Heart Attacks Independent Of Calcium Score Using data from the SCOT-HEART trial, a University of Edinburgh team ran an AI model against ten years of coronary CT angiogram scans, measuring skeletal muscle attenuation, a marker of myosteatosis, or fat infiltration into muscle tissue. Every 10-point increase in muscle density corresponded to a 31% lower heart attack risk and 39% lower all-cause mortality over the following decade, and critically, this held independent of coronary calcium score, the current gold-standard risk marker. The same low-density-muscle patients also showed higher lung attenuation, lower liver attenuation, and more torso fat volume, a pattern consistent with systemic insulin resistance rather than a muscle-specific issue. Host Dave Asprey unpacks why calcium score isn't capturing the full risk picture, why myosteatosis is really a readout of whole-body insulin sensitivity, and what he'd add to a routine workup on top of a calcium score. Source: https://www.theguardian.com/science/2026/jun/30/strong-chest-back-less-likely-heart-attack-analysis ~~ FDA Approves First Oral PCSK9 Inhibitor, Cutting LDL By Up To 60% Without Injections Merck's enlicitide (brand name Lipfendra) is now FDA-approved as the first once-daily oral PCSK9 inhibitor, lowering LDL cholesterol by up to 60% in a phase 3 trial of 2,912 patients, routinely bringing levels down to 50-60 mg/dL. It works by blocking PCSK9, a liver protein that tags LDL receptors for destruction, the same target as injectable drugs like Repatha and Praluent, which have shown roughly 20% reductions in heart attacks and strokes in high-risk patients. Lipfendra is priced at $315 for a 30-day supply, with no excess side effects reported versus placebo over six months, though long-term outcome data is still pending. Host Dave Asprey explains why crushing total LDL without checking ApoB, LDL particle number, or oxidized LDL is optimizing the wrong variable, and what he'd want on his labs before considering a drug like this. Taylor Farms has recalled all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico, and Walmart has pulled Marketside Iceberg Salad and Marketside Shredded Lettuce with specific date codes across 27 states. Cyclospora spreads through fecal contamination and causes weeks of watery, explosive diarrhea if untreated; washing doesn't reliably eliminate it, since the parasite requires heat above 158°F to inactivate. Host Dave Asprey explains why pre-washed, pre-cut bagged greens remain a recurring contamination risk no matter what the label claims, and connects the outbreak's gut damage to lingering gut-brain consequences long after symptoms resolve. The gut communicates with the brain through the vagus nerve, hormones, and immune signaling, and dysbiosis or ENS dysfunction has separately been linked to mood disorders in both human and animal studies. Host Dave Asprey breaks down why the goal isn't maximum gut-brain connection but the right kind of connection, questions whether the coupling is driving the anxiety or the anxiety is driving the coupling, and makes the case for treating mood from the gut up instead of the brain down. Source: https://refractor.io/medical/enteric-nervous-system-brain-link-mental-health/ ~~ Rhonda Patrick Explains Why She Never Adds Bananas To Her Berry Smoothies Rhonda Patrick has been telling audiences she skips bananas in her berry smoothies because of polyphenol oxidase, an enzyme in bananas that degrades the polyphenols in blueberries linked to improved cognition and vascular health, based on in-vitro and food chemistry data. She now builds her smoothies on an avocado base instead, and notes that vitamin C from citrus can partially inhibit the enzyme for anyone unwilling to drop the banana. Host Dave Asprey weighs in on the gap between lab chemistry and clinical outcome data, why that gap doesn't make the mechanism any less real, and why this is a low-cost swap worth making even without a human trial behind it. Host Dave Asprey connects clinical research, cohort data, and food chemistry into practical frameworks for protecting brain health, cardiovascular health, and gut-brain resilience. Fix Leaky Gut, Boost Testosterone & Slash Endotoxins with Spore-Based Probiotics | Kiran KrishnanYour bad gut bacteria might be the reason your testosterone, your immune system, and even your sperm count are struggling, and most probiotics never survive long enough to fix it. This episode reveals which strains actually make it through your stomach acid alive, and what happens once they do. Go To JustThriveHealth.com/asprey for a free 90 day supply of bitters with your next subscription. Host Dave Asprey sits down with research microbiologist Kiran Krishnan, co-founder of Microbiome Labs, the leading microbiome therapeutics brand among healthcare professionals. He has published multiple peer-reviewed studies, holds global patents, and has spent 20 years building companies focused on the science of the microbiome. His work centers on spore-based probiotics, the rare strains proven to survive the stomach's brutal acidity and actually rebuild the gut from the inside out. Kiran and Dave break down why 98 percent of conventional probiotics die before they ever reach your gut, and why spore-forming bacteria are different. They dig into the "gelding effect," the well-documented pathway where endotoxins from bad gut bacteria shut down testosterone production and drive up cortisol, and how fixing your microbiome can reverse it. They cover the connection between endotoxemia and nearly every major marker of aging, metabolism, and inflammation, why butyrate acts like a natural GLP-1 for fat loss, how Akkermansia can upregulate mitochondria and improve blood sugar control, and the surprising role vitamin K2 plays in bone density and functional medicine. This is biohacking at the cellular level, using ancient biology, fasting-adjacent metabolic pathways, and precision supplementation to optimize human performance from the gut up. You'll Learn: Why 98 percent of probiotics die in your stomach before they ever work What the "gelding effect" is and how gut bacteria can shut down testosterone How endotoxins drive inflammation, cortisol, and accelerated aging Why butyrate functions like a natural, low-cost alternative to GLP-1 drugs How Akkermansia improves mitochondrial function and blood sugar control The overlooked link between your microbiome and vitamin K2 production Why spore-based probiotics can survive gastric acid when most others cannot How 90 days of gut repair can measurably reduce circulating endotoxins Keywords: best probiotics that survive stomach acid, spore based probiotics benefits, gelding effect testosterone, endotoxins and testosterone, how to lower endotoxins, LPS gut bacteria, Akkermansia GLP-1 natural, gut bacteria and belly fat, vitamin K2 bone density, Kiran Krishnan microbiologist, Just Thrive probiotic, leaky gut symptoms, microbiome and testosterone, fecal transplant benefits, Dave Asprey, biohacking, longevity Resources: • Go To JustThriveHealth.com/asprey for a free 90 day supply of bitters with your next subscription • Learn More About All Of Just Thrive's Offerings At: https://justthrivehealth.com/ • Get My 2026 Clean Nicotine Roadmap | Enroll for free at https://daveasprey.com/2026-clean-nicotine-roadmap/ • Dave Asprey's Latest News | Go to https://daveasprey.com/ to join Inside Track today. • Danger Coffee: https://dangercoffee.com/discount/dave15? • My Daily Supplements: SuppGrade Labs (15% Off) • Favorite Blue Light Blocking Glasses: TrueDark (15% Off) • Dave Asprey's BEYOND Conference: https://beyondconference.com • Dave Asprey's New Book – Heavily Meditated: https://daveasprey.com/heavily-meditated • Join My Substack (Live Access To Podcast Recordings): https://substack.daveasprey.com/ • Upgrade Labs: https://upgradelabs.com Thank you to our sponsors! - ZenBud | Dave's Nervous System Biohack. Visceral fat, subcutaneous fat, Prenuvo MRI scans, and the truth about belly fat Your gut and your face are telling on you. This episode reveals why the fat under your skin might be protecting you while the fat around your organs is quietly wrecking your metabolism, heart, and longevity, and exactly what to do about the difference. Get $300 off your next Prenuvo MRI scan: https://prenuvo.com/?discount=Dave Host Dave Asprey sits down with Dr. Sean O'Mara, a former undercover narcotics agent, criminal prosecutor, emergency medicine physician, and retired U.S. Army Colonel who assisted the White House and Senior Executive Service, treating Vice President Dick Cheney, former President Bill Clinton, and Secretary of State Colin Powell. Today he's recognized as the world's most experienced physician in eliminating visceral fat and epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), the inflammatory fat now linked to nearly every major chronic disease and accelerated aging. He founded Influence Medicine, a specialty built around helping senators, heads of state, and top executives optimize their biology so they can perform and lead at the highest level. Dave and Dr. O'Mara break down the real difference between visceral fat and subcutaneous fat, why a visible six-pack might signal hidden disease, and how MRI scans reveal what your mirror never will. They dig into the biohacking strategies that actually shift your body composition: fasting protocols that build beneficial fat instead of burning it away, microbiome optimization for fat metabolism, and the supplements and functional medicine tools Dr. O'Mara uses with his highest-performing clients. They also cover the gut-hormone connection driving modern metabolic dysfunction, why political leaders are quietly getting scanned, and what your face reveals about your visceral fat levels before you ever step on a scale. You'll Learn: The real difference between visceral fat, subcutaneous fat, and why one protects you while the other kills you Why a six-pack might be hiding disease your MRI would catch How a 72-hour fasting protocol can build the good kind of fat through adiponectin signaling What your face reveals about your visceral fat and longevity risk The gut-hormone connection driving testosterone, metabolism, and inflammation Why senators and world leaders are getting scanned for hidden fat How microbiome health, fasting, and functional medicine work together for fat loss and longevity Thank you to our sponsors! - Beyond Wonderland Conference | Oct 13 - 14, 2026.
