Then he watched his teammates win it on TV from back home in Guadalajara. It gets worse. The team owner offered to fly him private with his family to sit in the stands and watch the final. He was sixteen. He said no. He couldn't do it. What he says next is the part worth sitting with. He grew up as the son of a pro and the grandson of a pro Mexican footballer, with everyone deciding his story before he played a minute. A lot of managers told him flat out he wasn't good enough. His family handed him something better than a way around the pain. They taught him to walk into it. The obstacles are what make you stronger. The spot isn't the stadium. Fear isn't the opposite of growth. It's the gatekeeper of it. Every hesitation before a risk, every excuse before a hard conversation, every night spent worrying about what others think.. These are more than subtle character flaws. They're ancient circuits doing exactly what they were designed to do. The real question is whether you understand your fear well enough to stop letting it make your decisions for you. In this episode, we explore the neuroscience behind the threat response — why trauma reshapes the brain, how anxiety disorders illuminate something true about all of us, and what it actually means to rewire the patterns that keep you small. Understanding fear is not a detour from building a better mindset. It is the path. The four core fears that explain almost every way we self-sabotage Why the brain's fear circuitry becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy — and how to interrupt it The shift from reactive to regulated: what the science says actually works The brain that learned to fear can also learn to grow — this episode shows you where to start NEW SHOW - How to Change the World: The History and Future of Innovation Learn about the evolving story of the human species and our ideas told in chronological order. Most people wait for change to arrive in a dramatic package. A breakthrough. A sign. A better plan. Graham Hobson's story reminds us that real growth is quieter than that. It arrives through repetition, through coaching, through the willingness to be bad at something long enough to become good. As PhotoBox scaled, the lesson was not how to find one perfect move, but how to build a way of thinking that could absorb pressure, learn from friction, and keep expanding without collapsing under the weight of ambition. That's the work. Not chasing certainty. Not demanding speed. Building the capacity to evolve. Growth mindset is not motivational wallpaper. It is the discipline of becoming someone who can handle the next version of the challenge. Focus on becoming more adaptable. Trade urgency for durable progress. Build capacity before you need it. If you're ready to rethink what growth really looks like, this episode is worth your time. We are joined by a guest whose career is a testament to the power of reinvention and the discipline of mastery. Before he was a titan in the manufacturing world, he was a professional guitarist. When a hand injury cut his music career short, he didn't see a setback—he saw a turning point. He took the resilience, pattern recognition, and focus required to master an instrument and applied it to the world of entrepreneurship.  Tom Kubiniec is the Founder and CEO of SecureIt, a U.S.-based manufacturing company that designs and produces innovative secure storage systems for consumers, military, and institutional clients. Before building SecureIt, Tom was a professional guitarist. His music career was cut short due to a hand injury — a turning point that forced him to reinvent himself professionally. Rather than viewing it as a setback, Tom used the experience as a catalyst to transition into manufacturing and entrepreneurship. The discipline of mastering an instrument, performing under pressure, and recovering from adversity shaped the resilience, pattern recognition, and long-term thinking he now brings to business leadership.  Under his direction, SecureIt has become a category leader by challenging conventional industry thinking and focusing relentlessly on product design, operational discipline, and customer responsibility. Over the past year, Tom made several bold operational decisions — including eliminating his internal marketing department — while achieving 66% year-over-year sales growth. He credits this performance not to aggressive promotion, but to disciplined execution, product clarity, and conviction in long-term strategy.  Outside of business, Tom prioritizes time with his family and regularly disconnects outdoors. He believes physical discipline, recovery, and intentional time away from work directly sharpen leadership focus and decision-making. Tom brings a unique blend of creativity, operational rigor, and founder resilience — offering practical insights for entrepreneurs navigating reinvention, growth, and leadership.  CONTACT DETAILS: Business: SecureItWebsite: https://www.secureitgunstorage.com/ Social Media AddressLinkedIN - https://www.linkedin.com/in/tomkubiniec/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/tomkubiniec Remember to SUBSCRIBE so you don't miss "Information That You Can Use." These aren't contradictions. They're the formula behind the psychology of excellence. Your mindset shapes the way you approach challenges, failure, growth, and opportunity. In this episode, I break down the difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset, and why this concept can completely change the way you approach business, leadership, personal development, and success. We'll talk about how mindset affects learning, resilience, confidence, problem-solving, and the ability to improve over time. People with a fixed mindset tend to avoid discomfort and fear failure, while people with a growth mindset understand that progress comes through effort, learning, and persistence. If you want to become more adaptable, improve your habits, develop mental toughness, and create long-term growth in your life or business, understanding this mindset shift is incredibly important.

In this episode, Jamie Preston sits down with Your Health CEO Matt Staub, just back from Capitol Hill, where he spent a record-setting 95-degree day meeting with seven legislative offices to advocate for physicians, providers, and the patients they serve across rural South Carolina, Georgia, and beyond. Experienced leaders aren't reacting to surface-level information. They're reading the energy in the room, identifying where real influence lives on their team, spotting the gap between what people say and what's actually true, recognizing where pressure is wearing their people down, and uncovering potential in the people others have overlooked. Paul explains that these aren't innate gifts — they're learnable skills built through intentional observation and genuine curiosity about the people you lead. Using a real-world example of gamed metrics, the episode unpacks how measuring what's easy — rather than what's meaningful — can lead leaders to make confident decisions based on a distorted reality. Paul explains the cultural dynamics that cause teams to optimize for the numbers leadership watches rather than the outcomes that actually matter, and why a fear-based environment makes dashboard data even less reliable. The episode closes with three practical actions listeners can take immediately to close the gap between what their data says and what's really happening on the ground. Using a relatable two-leader scenario, the episode breaks down why some leaders stay steady under pressure while others fall apart, and reveals that the difference isn't talent or experience — it's preparation. Paul outlines three practical, no-fluff strategies for building genuine leadership confidence: getting crystal clear on your personal values, developing the habit of decisive decision-making in everyday situations, and cultivating trusted relationships before you desperately need them. In this episode of the 7 Minute Leadership Podcast, Paul explores one of the most overlooked challenges in leadership — the fact that stress fundamentally changes how leaders think and make decisions. Under pressure, the brain shifts into survival mode, narrowing focus and pushing leaders toward reactive, familiar choices rather than thoughtful strategy. Paul breaks down what "strategy under stress" actually looks like in practice, including common patterns like choosing the path of least resistance, doubling down on outdated approaches, or avoiding decisions altogether. He then offers three practical habits to protect strategic thinking under pressure: building a pause ritual before major decisions, keeping core strategic anchors visible and accessible, and maintaining a small circle of honest voices who provide perspective when stress isolates us. In this heartfelt episode of The Spiritual Cupcake Podcast, Candace shares a beautiful conversation with her friend Magda about creating a life and home that feels intentional, soulful, and truly your own. Magda has been lovingly beautifying her forest home — bespokeing every detail, handcrafting spaces with care, personality, and warmth. From the outside, everything looked peaceful and stunning. But then she discovered a martin had made its way deep inside the walls and created a nest hidden within the home. At first, she tried to handle it herself. But eventually, she realized she needed to call in an expert — someone with wisdom, experience, and the ability to help with what was happening beneath the surface. Candace reflects on how deeply this mirrors our own lives. We can style our hair, nourish our skin, decorate our homes, curate our wardrobes, buy beautiful things, and work hard to create lives that look peaceful from the outside. But sometimes, inside us, there are still hidden places carrying old pain, fear, grief, stress, or unresolved emotions quietly nesting in the background. This episode is a gentle reminder that healing is not about perfection. Even the cleanest, most beautiful homes become messy simply from being lived in. The same is true for us. Life happens. Emotions build up. Experiences leave marks. The goal is not to become flawless — it's to become aware. Candace talks about the importance of checking in with ourselves, tending to the hidden rooms within, and allowing ourselves support when needed. Sometimes our own rituals, practices, and self-awareness help us move through things. And sometimes healing asks us to reach out to someone with deeper expertise to guide us through the murky places we cannot navigate alone. This episode is about inner peace, emotional honesty, self-awareness, and creating a life that feels beautiful not just on the outside, but deep within the walls of who we are.

In this episode of the 7 Minute Leadership Podcast, Paul explores one of the most powerful — and often overlooked — truths in leadership: that you, as a leader, are the decision. Long before any formal choice is made, your behavior, energy, and presence are already communicating to your team what's safe, what's valued, and what kind of culture they're operating in. Paul breaks down how leaders unknowingly create environments where honesty feels risky, and why team silence or disengagement is often a reflection of the leader rather than the team. The episode challenges listeners to close the gap between who they think they are and who their team actually experiences — not through big programs or announcements, but through small, intentional daily choices. If you want a high-trust, high-performance culture, it starts with recognizing that leadership is less about what you decide and more about who you are when no one thinks anyone's watching.Host: Paul FalavolitoConnect with me on your favorite platform: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Substack, BlueSky, Threads, LinkTree, YouTubeView my website for free leadership resources and exclusive merchandise: www.paulfalavolito.comBooks by Paul FalavolitoThe 7 Minute Leadership® Handbook: bit.ly/48J8zFGThe Leadership Academy: https://bit.ly/4lnT1PfThe 7 Minute Leadership® Survival Guide: https://bit.ly/4ij0g8yThe Leader's Book of Secrets: http://bit.ly/4oeGzCI

Drawing on behavioural psychology and a surprisingly useful analogy about cells and organs, Sam makes the case that the most effective thing you can do for your own growth is to become genuinely useful to the people around you. Not as a strategy. As a mindset. The inversion is simple: stop asking what moves you forward and start asking what moves others forward. Turns out, they're the same question. Why connection is as fundamental a skill as walking or talking How organisations actually hold together — and what that means for you Why kindness isn't soft advice; it's the core engine of sustainable success If the self-improvement content you've consumed hasn't quite stuck, this one might be the missing piece. He talks about stage fright, getting up anyway, creating skits in class, managing a bunch of third grade boys, bringing in props, costumes, fake gold coins, paper beards, and somehow making the whole thing work.Sometimes we think “big accomplishments” have to look very serious. But sometimes they look like a kid with a Tehillim chart, a creative brain, a little stage fright, a lot of ideas, and the willingness to try again. Then, in the second part of the episode, we talk about grit in a totally different way — through biking. We hear from Rami and Shuey about the upcoming TDK Junior Father-Son Bike Ride in Baltimore, and what it means to push yourself, ride together, and be part of something that is fun, challenging, and meaningful.Because grit isn't only something you use when you're sitting with a Tehillim chart.Sometimes grit looks like getting back on the bike. Sometimes it looks like riding a little farther than you thought you could. Sometimes it looks like a father and son doing something side by side. And sometimes it looks like a whole community showing up for something healthy, exciting, and good.My favorite part of this episode is how it reminds us that kids are not simple. A kid can be quiet and also loud. Creative and also serious. Nervous and also brave. Fun and also focused. And when kids are given space to practice all the different parts of who they are, it is incredible to watch what comes out.Thank you to this week's sponsors:Hosiery Plus — for the basics, swim, socks, hosiery, and all the things your whole family needs. https://hosieryplus.com/TDK Junior Bike Ride — coming up June 21! Most startups don't fail from lack of ideas. They fail because people quit too early—or play it too safe. Graham Hobson built a €100M business starting with a simple frustration: printing photos of his kids. What followed wasn't a smooth growth curve—it was years of uncertainty, near failure, and painfully slow progress. In this conversation, we unpack the real psychology behind building something that lasts. Not hustle. Not hacks. But resilience, emotional insight, and the ability to keep going when the rewards are invisible. Graham shares how surviving the dot-com crash shaped his thinking, why hiring for values beats hiring for talent, and how the most successful businesses often start with deeply human problems. Reframe uncertainty as a normal part of meaningful progress Focus on emotional value, not just functional output Build resilience by solving problems, not avoiding them If you're building something—or thinking about it—this episode will change how you measure progress. In this installment of the Mussar Masterclass on the Gate of Slander, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe focuses on the practical path to overcoming harmful speech. The Orchot Tzaddikim teaches that someone seeking to repent from gossip, flattery, falsehood, idle chatter, and slander must build a strong protective fence around themselves. The first step is distancing oneself from environments and friendships that normalize negative speech. Just as bad habits are contagious, positive habits are cultivated by surrounding oneself with people who speak words of Torah, wisdom, and fear of Heaven. Lasting change begins with changing one's environment. The episode emphasizes the extraordinary power of silence and intentional speech. Rabbi Wolbe explains that a person who wishes to elevate themselves must reduce unnecessary conversation, increase Torah study, and become mindful of every word they utter. Speech is not merely communication—it is one of the most powerful forces available to a human being. Our words can heal, inspire, encourage, and elevate, or they can destroy relationships, reputations, and even entire communities. The class concludes with a memorable parable about a man who obtained milk from a lioness to heal a king. In a dream, the various organs of the body argued about which was most important, until the tongue demonstrated that it possessed the power to bring either life or death. The lesson echoes King Solomon's famous teaching: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." Rabbi Wolbe leaves listeners with a powerful reminder that mastering one's speech is among the greatest forms of self-mastery and spiritual growth. _____________This Podcast Series is Generously Underwritten by Peter & Becky BotvinRecorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on February 2, 2026, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on June 3, 2026_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! Share your questions at aw@torchweb.org or visit torchweb.org for more Torah content.  _____________About the Host:Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe, Director of TORCH in Houston, brings decades of Torah scholarship to guide listeners in applying Jewish wisdom to daily life.  To directly send your questions, comments, and feedback, please email: awolbe@torchweb.org_____________Support Our Mission:Our Mission is Connecting Jews & Judaism.
