"Boys don't cry" - or do they? Darum geht es in der Theaterperformance von InterFemme* e.V. Der Verein setzt sich ein für das Empowerment und gegen Diskriminierung von FLINTA-Personen. In dem Theaterstück erkunden sie zum ersten Mal die männliche Perspektive im Gleichstellungsdiskurs.

Im vergangenen Oktober habe ich in den Berliner Sophiensälen die Performance «Faith Fiction» des Kollektivs Turbopascal miterlebt. Das war ein einmaliges Erlebnis, das mich immer noch beschäftigt. Den Glauben mitten im vermeintlich säkularen Berlin, in einer interaktiven Theaterperformance zum Thema machen – wie das gelingen kann und was dabei herauskommt, darüber spreche ich mit Angela Löhr und Frank Oberhäußer, der künstlerischen Leitung. Am Anfang der Produktion von «Faith Fiction» stand ein Text, den der Theaterkritiker und Journalist Dirk Pilz 2017 auf der Website «nachtkritik» veröffentlicht hatte. Ihn habe ich sehr geschätzt. Pilz war ein überaus kundiger Theaterfachmann und auf seine Weise ein sehr inspirierender Theologe. 2018 ist er viel zu früh verstorben. Deshalb hier einige Sätze aus einem Text, in dem er sich Gedanken über Religion und Theater gemacht hat – Gedanken, die Turbo Pascal bei der Vorbereitung ihrer Performance inspiriert haben: «Es ist ja nicht so, dass es einen Mangel an Religion auf deutschsprachigen Bühnen gäbe. Religion gehört schließlich nicht erst in der Gegenwart zu den umstrittensten und heikelsten Themen überhaupt. Aber Gläubige treten im deutschsprachigen Theater fast nur als Zerrbild auf, als Mängelwesen und bedauernswerte Tropfe, die den Anschluss an die Welt der Aufklärung und Vernunft verpasst zu haben scheinen… Religion wird durchweg zum diffusen Sammelbegriff für alles, was als irgend fremd, irrational oder überholt gilt, mitunter auch schlicht als Kennzeichen von Konservatismus. Sie wird so als das vorgeführt, was moderne, aufgeklärte Menschen nicht hätten – und auch nicht bräuchten.» Dass es genauso nicht ist, haben die Schauspielerinnen und Schauspieler von Turbo Pascal in ihren Vorarbeiten – langen Rechercheinterviews – und in ihrer Performance herausgefunden: Glaubensfragen bewegen immer noch, nur sind die Antworten inzwischen vielfältiger und vielschichtiger geworden. Wenn man sich über sie austauscht und das gängige Beschweigen von Religion überwindet, dann kann man sich und seine Mitmenschen besser kennenlernen.

Haas also talks about the Anastasis Theater Company's belief that the theater helps us to really see ourselves and each other and that art has the power to impact social change..Haley Haas is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Anastasis Theatre Co. Haas recently directed the tour of the Anastasis play More Than a Number, as well as the original production of the play inside the NE State Penitentiary. She has also directed the Anastasis plays Stories: On the Brink and Voices Unbound. Haas has worked as a teaching artist and facilitator with numerous local organizations and for 15 years as an actor and the Training and Education Director for R.E.S.P.E.C.T., a touring educational theatre company. As an award winning actor, favorite roles in some regional shows at The Blue Barn Theater include Henrietta in Silent Sky, Irene in The Dresser, and Virginia in Red Summer at the Blue Barn Theatre; and an ensemble role in The Blues of Knowing Why at the Union for Contemporary Art. Haas holds a BFA in Theater Performance from Creighton University and trained with the groundbreaking community-engaged theater company Cornerstone, based in Los Angeles, CA.

Quenching her thrist to expand her knowledge of the body and the benefits of efficient movement, Tara then obtained her license in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® in 2010 working under Master Trainer Young ah Kim. Completing the philosophy of health is a lifestyle, Tara enrolled at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a Certified Health Coach. In letzter Zeit sind die Diskussionen rund um das Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz wieder hochgekocht. Das Gesetz existiert eigentlich schon seit 2007 und besagt, dass Menschen in der Wissenschaft befristet angestellt werden sollen. Unbefristete Verträge sind eine Ausnahme. Sebastian Kubon hat zusammen mit anderen immer wieder Aktionen gegen dieses Gesetz initiiert. So zum Beispiel die Projekte #IchBinHanna oder 95 Thesen gegen das Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz. Dream was a series of 10 live performances over 8 days that used motion captured actors who had virtual embodiments set within an immersive storyworld of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream powered by the Unreal Engine. This project was a research & development initiative funded by the United Kingdom's Audience of the Future initiative that involves the Royal Shakespeare Company, Marshmallow Laser Feast, Philharmonia Orchestra, and the Manchester Film Festival.

Kimberly Redman was raised in the small town of Monson, Massachusetts. She attended the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts School in South Hadley, MA starting in seventh grade studying Theatre, Theatre Design, and Sculpture; participating in countless theater productions. Whether it was performing and constructing sets to being the hair and makeup designer for these productions Kimberly had a need to be there. After graduating in 2014 she moved to Philadelphia, PA to attend University of the Arts. There she had a focus on performance but also took interest in scenic design, directing, and had fascination with clowning after taking a studio class with the master students of the Pig Iron Theatre Company. During her college years she also worked as a makeup artist for many of the college's theatrical shows including the world premiere of Acedia by Taj Rauch directed by Amy Dogus Brown. Since graduating Kimberly co-produced and directed an absurdist comedy show Just Another Normal Conversation with Brittney Anderson (co-producer, playwright) and Becca Thomas (co-producer, stage manager) for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival in 2018. Shortly afterwards Kimberly started picking up work as a freelance makeup artist. She has worked short films such as Miss Barton's Famous Cakes produced by Natasha (Tasha) Kuroenen directed by Jared Hirsh & Nelson Vicens featured in the Philadelphia Film Festival in 2019 to needing to wake up and travel at 4am to make a train to Princeton New Jersey to work a single corporate job because she doesn't have a car. In the months leading up to March, Kimberly presented a performance art piece called "Trash: A Painting of Now" constructed entirely out of trash at the Painted Bride, worked on some music videos for either makeup or scenic dressing, as well as with a plethora of local upcoming photographers and musicians as a makeup artist/stylist. The last project before quarantine was being the Production Designer of this short documentary, KIM directed by Maria Vattimo and executively produced by Joshua Amrani and Joseph Vattimo based on local Philadelphian Ballerina and founder of The Klassic Contemporary Ballet Company Kimberly Landle and her story about her sexual abuse and how she transformed her pain in her work. Currently, Kim (Redman) is at home working on personal directoral projects and riding the emotional waves of being unemployed during an unmanaged pandemic with an increasingly facsist society.

«What is human?» fragt eine Theaterperformance rund um das Konzept «Familie». Quilts sind nicht bloss handgemachte Steppdecken, sie können auch Kunst sein. Und der palästinensische Filmemacher Elia Suleiman demonstriert einmal mehr seine Nähe zu Buster Keaton. Das performende Duo fleischlin/meser geht in seiner neuen Produktion der Frage nach, wie Menschen das Bedürfnis nach Zugehörigkeit in eigene Abmachungen und neue Lebensformen giessen. Im Zentrum steht die Familie als gesellschaftliches Konstrukt und also die Auseinandersetzung mit persönlichen Definitionen von Familie als Ort grösster sozialer Geborgenheit. In «what is human?» kommen Performer*innen mit unterschiedlichen familiären Hintergründen mit dem Publikum zusammen. Gemeinsam werden neue Verwandtschaftsverhältnisse gedacht, entwickelt und an Ort und Stelle erlebt. Quilts nur als kunstvoll genähte und bestickte Decken abzutun, greift zu kurz. Mit der Quilt-Technik lässt sich durchaus Kunst machen. Das beweisen Künstlerinnen an der 7. Quilt-Triennale im Textilmuseum St. Gallen. Kuratorin Ilona Kos erklärt beim Ausstellungsbesuch, woher das Quilten kommt und warum es noch immer meist in Frauenhand ist. Und Künstlerin Judith Mundwiler, die mit dem Doris Winter-Gedächtnispreis für Innovation ausgezeichnet wurde, spricht in ihrem Atelier in Sissach über Faszination und Inspiration des Quiltens. Der palästinensisch-israelische Regisseur Elia Suleiman wurde bekannt mit leise komischen Filmen zum Palästina-Konflikt wie etwa «Divine Intervention» von 2002. Auch sein jüngster Film bleibt am Thema, weitet es aber aus: Palästina ist überall. Überall, wo die Menschen sich absurd benehmen. In Paris, wo plötzlich eine Reihe von Panzern durch eine Strasse fährt. Im Park, wo die Menschen mit den herumstehenden Metallstühlen, von denen es immer zu wenige hat, ein Echtleben-Reise-nach-Rom-Gebalge veranstalten. My website gurus tell me this page needs to be “personal” and “not salesy,” but my personal life isn’t all that interesting. Well, since I’m paying them for their expertise, here we go… When people ask where I’m from, I hold up my left hand like anyone born and raised in the Great Lake State of Michigan. I kept the non-accent but left the cold to live in Georgia. Since I have no coordination and therefore stunk at sports, I turned to singing and theater as a teen where I found it was much more fun to be other people than my bookish, nerdy self. Being on stage, I found my happy place and even made some money in high school entertaining at little girls’ birthday parties as Snow White complete with balloon animals and a Pin the Ears on Dopey game. College kicked off with me earning a minor in Theater Performance at Auburn University, but then breaking my AU Tiger mother’s heart when I was accepted to the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism, where I earned a degree in Public Relations. Like any student working her way through school, I probably annoyed you with telemarketing calls and may have even served you drinks and dinner if you ever dined in my college town. My best college job was as a DJ at WDDK in little ol’ Greensboro, Georgia. General Manager Chip Lyness not only gave me a job but a ticket to my future. His love of the broadcast industry was contagious, and I never looked back. Luck brought me cowboy boots and Wrangler jeans when I got a job as a VJ at a local television music video station in Athens, Georgia, which then led me to my first professional post-college job with a country station in Tucson, Arizona. Since I didn’t know squat about country music at the time, I drew a lot on that acting background. These work experiences introduced me to the magic of broadcast advertising. Spent most of my after-college life working in public relations and media including stints as a newspaper reporter, copywriter, on-air talent and non-profit communications director. After doing VO on the side for years, it was time to pull the trigger. Brilliant coach Paul Armbruster helped me channel my theater background and marry it to my broadcast experience by teaching me how to be a voice actor. When I’m not hanging out with my family or voicing at the mic, I’m exploring the outdoors in my red kayak, via my own two feet running, or behind the wheel of my black Jeep Wrangler. When being outside is impossible, I’m reading, playing board games with my family or geeking out on the web searching for more vintage mics to add to my collection. Daymond was born as Robert Daymond Niles in Chesterfield, Missouri and was raised in Warrenton, Missouri for most of his early life. When he was an infant, his father Robert Nile's left the family, leaving his mother Laura Marks to raise him with the help of her parents Marvin and Mary Marks. He took an interest in acting when he was very young. In 1992, he performed in his first professional play, On Golden Pond at the Bell Star Theater. In 1993, Daymond's mother married Gregory Howard and in 1995 changed his name to Robert Daymond Howard after being officially adopted by Greg. In that same year, he and his family moved to St. Louis, Missouri. In 2000, he was accepted in to the Webster University Theater Conservatory, but was put on academic probation for a time and later left Webster University in 2002 to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he graduated with a BFA in Theater Performance in 2004. Later, he continued to perform at the Nevada Conservatory Theater, while he also taught acting, movement, speech and voice to undergraduate theater majors. In 2007, he graduated the UNLV with a Master of Fine Arts in Acting. In August 2007, he moved to LA to continue pursuing acting and has continued to appear in theater, film, television and voice-over. He currently lives in Los Angeles. He also owns and operates a voice-over company, Shock & Awesome Audio. He currently voices SwaySway in the Nickelodeon cartoon, Breadwinners and the twins Evan and Myles on The Hub's Transformers: Rescue Bots. On May 6, 2014, it was announced that Daymond will be voicing the character Porta in the English dub of the anime film Patema Inverted. On July 5, 2014, it was announced that he will be voicing Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask in the Viz Media English dub of Sailor Moon.

Beim Sommer-Plaisir zeigte uns Theatermacherin Birgit Grimm ihren Kietz Es werde eine sehr persönliche Führung, kündigte Birgit Grimm reiselustig mit einem Strohhut bekleidet gleich bei der Begrüßung an. Schnell wurde der Hauptmann von Köpenick abgehandelt, bevor es dann die aus Sicht der Mitbegründerin des Köpenicker Schlossplatztheaters die wirklichen Sehenswürdigkeiten des malerisch am Wasser gelegenen Berliner Bezirks zu bestaunen galt, der einst durch seine Wäscherinnen zu Wohlstand gelangte. White Russian an der Bar So machten wir unter anderem Halt an der so genannten Erlebnisgastronomie Freiheit 15 (Grimms Empfehlung für die Bar: Cocktail White Russian), an den vom Atelier de balto angelegten offenen BürgerInnengärten (Grimms Empfehlung für den Juni: 5-Minuten-Lesungen mit Promis), an einer riesigen Netzinstallation (hier veranstaltet Grimm die Preis gekrönte „Oper im Netz“) und endeten im gemütlichen kleinen Schlossplatztheater gleich um die Ecke vom Rathaus Köpenick. Eine Führung als Performance Birgit Grimm, 52 Jahre alt, hat hier gemeinsam mit zwei Mitstreitern 1995 ihren Traum eines eigenen Theaters verwirklicht. Im Gespräch mit den Bücherfrauen erzählte sie von den Mühen, jahrzehntelang um Förderungen zu kämpfen. Dass sie, wenn es darauf ankommt, auch mal Berlins Regierendem Bürgermeister und Kultursenator Klaus Wowereit die Ohren lang zieht, glaubten wir ihr sofort. Als Regisseurin bezeichnet sie sich als „junges Talent“ und beschäftigt sich für neue Projekte viel mit der Musik von Wagner. Wir haben die charmante Führung mit Birgit Grimm, die stellenweise einer Theaterperformance glich, sehr genossen und ließen sie bei einem schmackhaften Essen auf der Terrasse des „Alten Waschhaus“ ausklingen. Mit einer Bilderprozession erinnern die Bürger von Saal jährlich an die Leidensgeschichte Christi. Dabei werden lebensgroße Holzfiguren durch den Ort getragen. Sie zeigen in dreizehn Stationen das Passionsgeschehen. Es ist eine stille Prozession. Keine Gebete, keine Gesänge. Nur die Blaskapelle spielt. Der Theaterberserker Alexeij Sagerer, aus dem niederbayerischen Plattling stammend, hat in den 70er Jahren in München das "proT" gegründet - das Prozessionstheater. Wo sieht er Gemeinsamkeiten von Religion und Kunst? Manuela Kerer und Daniel Oberegger haben eine "Prozession der Käfer" komponiert. Welche Wegstrecke legen die Käfer dabei zurück? Wenn Franz Pröbster Kunzel wieder einmal zu einer "Heimholung" lädt, kommen Kunstfreunde aus Nah und Fern. In einer schamanistischen Prozession überführt er seine Weidenbüschel, Feldzeichen und Stangen aus seinem "Garten des heiligen Irrsinns" in sein "Haus der Schreine". Ist der oberpfälzisch-mittelfränkische abtrünnige Landwirt ein "Schüler" von Joseph Beuys und Hermann Nitsch? Obwohl die Musikanten aus Saal gewiss nie eine Theaterperformance von Alexeij Sagerer sehen werden, und obwohl die Prozession der Käfer nie den Garten des heiligen Irrsinns erreichen wird, haben all die Aktionen etwas gemeinsam. Was das ist, versucht Joseph Berlinger in seinem Feature herauszufinden. Indem er sich von verschiedenen Richtungen dem Ritual der Prozession nähert.

But while Noh themes are mostly solemn, Kyogen presents a comical or satirical view of everyday situations. Orginating from the Muramachi Period of the 14th Century, the humorous stories in Kyogen theatre are derived from typical domestic quarrels and situations. The Shigeyama family has been performing Kyogen for over 400 years. During their North American tour, with shows at the Smithsonian Freer Gallery in Washington D.C. and at the University of Chicago's International House, the Okura School will perform "Kaki Yamabushi" (the Persimmon Theif). "Kusabira" (Mushrooms) and "Sanbaso" (Fertility, Good Harvest and New Year).
