Market speculation into commodities like Bitcoin and Crude oil pose dangerous risks during the best of times. Heading into a recession, the stakes are even higher. The temptation to participate during volatile periods is a psychological phenomenon that takes hold among casual investors who rarely realize when they’re part of an institutional con. When leveraged institutions are in desperate need of liquidity they’ll stop at nothing to game the system. In this episode, Max offers a cautionary tale of speculative behavior in the crude oil markets during the financial crisis that very few people even know about. He then connects it to the dangers posed to investors who dabble in digital currencies like Bitcoin, especially under a pro-crypto Trump administration. Access the episode resources. Today we are talking about Workspaces, What They are, and How They Work with guest Scott Weston. We'll also cover Workspaces Extra as our module of the week. For show notes visit: https://www.talkingDrupal.com/475 Topics What are Workspaces in Drupal What's a common use cases for Workspaces Are Workspaces stable Do Workspaces help with content versioning What does the module ecosystem look like for Workspaces Inspiration Workspaces best practices Any interesting ways it is being used Is there a way to access workspace content in twig Navigation integration Workspaces and workflows What aspects of a Workspace are limited to live If someone wants to get involved or get started Resources Drupal Workspaces Core issue: Media library form can only be submitted in the default workspace Integrate Navigation with Workspaces Guests Scott Weston - scott-weston Hosts Nic Laflin - nLighteneddevelopment.com nicxvan John Picozzi - epam.com johnpicozzi Joshua "Josh" Mitchell - joshuami.com joshuami MOTW Correspondent Martin Anderson-Clutz - mandclu.com mandclu Brief description: Do you want to extend the capabilities of the Workspaces system in Drupal core? There's a module for that. Module name/project name: Workspaces Extra Brief history How old: created in Apr 2021 by Andrei Mateescu (amateescu) of tag1, who has also contributed to Workspaces in core, among other many things Versions available: 2.0.0-alpha3 which works with Drupal 10.3 or 11 Maintainership Actively maintained, latest release is less than a week old Security coverage: technically yes, but not really until it has a stable release Test coverage Number of open issues: 20 open issues, 3 of which are bugs against the current branch, though one has already been fixed Usage stats: 89 sites Module features and usage One of the big features in Drupal 10.3 was that Workspaces is now officially stable. That said, not everything works the way some site builders will want it to. That's where a contrib solution like Workspace Extra can help to fill in the gaps It provides new options like letting you roll back changes from a published workspace, move content between workspaces, discard changes in a workspace, squashing content revisions when a workspace is published, and more Workspaces Extra, or WSE also includes a number of submodules to add even more capabilities. For example, they can allow your workspace to stage an allowlist of configuration changes, deploy workspace content using an import/export system, stage menu changes, and more. For workflow, there's an option to generate a shareable workspace preview link for external users, and a scheduler to publish your workspace at a specific day and time I will add that the first time I played with workspaces I ran into an issue where I couldn't create media entities within a workspace. I don't know for sure that this hasn't been fixed in core, but the core issue about it is still listed as “Needs work”. That said, the last comment on that issue (link in the show notes) lists WSE as something that helps, so if you encounter the same issue with Workspaces, WSE is worth a try

From designer fashion to sports equipment, the resale market is experiencing a renaissance like never before. In fact, the resale market has grown so exponentially that it is projected to reach $77 billion within the next few years. This is a big victory for sustainability, especially given the carbon footprint of the fashion industry. Keeping a t-shirt or pair of shoes in circulation longer is one of the greatest ways to counteract the impacts of fast fashion. With this rise in resale, there is a golden opportunity for the brands behind the products to get involved. This idea led Adam Siegel, now CEO, to co-found Recurate. Recurate is a platform that empowers clothing brands to embrace the circular economy through the potential of resale, offering tools to allow customers to buy resale and secondhand products seamlessly. By facilitating the transition to a circular business model, Recurate not only helps brands make a positive impact on the planet but also opens up new revenue streams and enhances their brand image in an increasingly conscious marketplace.Listen for insights on:The consumer data supporting the resale model for individuals and brandsHow to help consumers balance their desires for sustainability, convenience, and price — and how Recurate satisfies all threeRecurate's vision for a fully integrated resale experienceWays you can buy and sell through Recurate's brands — and how to become one!Resources + Links:Adam Siegel's LinkedInRecurateRecurate's BrandsThe Circular Fashion is Now ReportEllen MacArthur Foundation's Butterfly Diagram for Visualizing the Circular Economy (00:00) - Welcome to Purpose 360 (00:13) - Recurate (03:09) - Meet Adam Siegel (04:49) - Founding Recurate (06:51) - Circularity (08:25) - How They Work (09:39) - Resale Models (12:55) - Doing the Research (15:12) - Brand Loyalty with Recommerce Options (17:16) - The Terms (19:03) - Motivations (21:03) - Successful Business (22:16) - Examples (25:26) - Challenges (27:45) - Death to Fast Fashion in EU? The college years are pivotal in determining a career path. Beginning with choosing a college and then choosing a major, and often even a specialization, students are faced with many important decisions. It is often challenging for the Christian student trying to discern God's will in these career choices. It involves determining your calling and having the courage to follow that path. I discuss this with Dr. Gordon Smith, president of Ambrose University and author of Courage and Calling: Embracing Your God-Given Potential. In this podcast we discuss: How Gordon's own wrestling with career questions lead him to write this book The fundamental paradigm for determining God's will Does God only “call” people to ministry? Is serving in “ministry” more valued by God? Why or why not? The value of careers that involve “manual” work How Gordon developed a more accurate theology of vocation How others can help you discern God's will in making career decisions The important difference between your “career” and your “vocation” The four questions that will help you discover your calling The greatest roadblock to discerning your calling The role anger should and should not play in your discernment process The value of the Myers-Briggs [Personality] Type Indicator in your discernment process How to deal with the fear of “missing” God's call in your career choice Why you should take classes in a wide range of subjects during the first few years of college Releasing the burden of having to nail this all down by the time you graduate Being freed from the “urgency and tyranny of time” in finding and living out your calling How your vocation is tied to our specific time and place The importance of courage over fear in finding and following your calling Resources mentioned during our conversation: Gordon Smith, Teach Us To Pray Francis Schaeffer's Trilogy, How Shall We Then Live: The Rise and Decline of Western Thought and Culture, and his many other books Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov Liam Atchison, “Higher Education 101: How Universities Came to Be and How They Work,” College Faith podcast #3 Gordon Smith, Consider Your Calling: Six Questions for Discerning Your Vocation (for college students) Gordon Smith, Your Calling Here and Now: Making Sense of Vocation (for those in mid-life) Edward P. It was December 7th, 2022, when Senator Ron Johnson hosted a symposium called, COVID-19 Vaccines- What They Are, How They Work, and Possible Causes of Injuries. Those that participated in that round-table discussion included numerous experts and medical professionals who discussed the background of the coronavirus, functionality of the vaccines, failures of the pandemic response, early treatment drugs, adverse reactions, vaccine injuries, and plans for future research and response.--One of the participants at that symposium was Dr. Peter McCullough, a man considered to be among the world's experts on COVID-19. Dr. McCullough is an internist, cardiologist, and epidemiologist managing the cardiovascular complications of both the viral infection and the injuries developing after the COVID-19 vaccine. Since the outset of the pandemic, he's been a leader in the medical response to the COVID-19 disaster and published Pathophysiological Basis and Rationale for Early Outpatient Treatment of SARS-CoV-2 -COVID-19- Infection. This was the first synthesis of sequenced multi-drug treatment of ambulatory patients infected with COVID-19 in the American Journal of Medicine.--This was an information-packed broadcast that opened with Dr. McCullough noting that the current COVID vaccines are not sufficiently safe and effective. He believes they should be pulled from the market. In fact, it's now been proven that these vaccines cause heart damage in large numbers of individuals who take them, neurological damage, and immediate death for others. In other words, the vaccines have exceeded all boundaries of safety.--Dr. McCullough went on to discuss other aspects of this topic as well.

Watch full hearing highlights of a Capitol Hill Covid Forum hosted by US Senator Ron Johnson. The hearing, ‘Covid-19 Vaccines: What They Are, How They Work, and Possible Causes of Injuries,” held in Washington D.C. on December 7th, 2022, featured global experts in Public Health, Science and Medicine, Law and Media, with testimony from victims of Covid vaccine injury.Watch the Full 3-hour hearing here:https://bit.ly/JohnsonVaccineHearing#CapitolHillCovidForm #RonJohnson #Covid19 #HearingHighlights
Throughout the pandemic, experts who merely question whether COVID-19 vaccines are truly “safe and effective” have faced personal and professional exile. Support for these dissenters in the halls of Congress has been scant, with one standout exception—Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.). On Dec. 7, Johnson hosted his third roundtable discussion on COVID-19 Vaccines: What They Are, How They Work, and Possible Causes of Injuries. His goal was to create a platform whereby the most authoritative experts on the topic could speak directly to the public about what's currently known, and just as importantly, what's not known about these vaccines. It was a fast-paced, information-packed three-hour event. You can watch it in full on NTD or The Epoch Times. But in the meantime, I was there and assembled some standout moments that address a critical question: Where was the oversight for the entire vaccine program? And with that lacking, what long-term implications might future generations face as a result? ⭕️Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

In today's episode, we are revisiting an episode about Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) with the incredible Dr. Russell Barkley. He has officially retired this year after a career in making significant contributions to understanding ADHD. I was honored to have him on the Diverse Thinking Different Learning Podcast last year as an internationally recognized authority in ADHD and I know that this discussion is a great resource for parents, families, educators, and clinicians working with the child with ADHD. Dr. Barkley is a clinical psychologist and a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He is also an author of numerous books particularly on the subject of ADHD and today we discuss his most recent book The 12 Principles for Raising a Child with ADHD, which I highly recommend. In addition to sharing his vast amount of knowledge, Dr. Barkley also shares how ADHD has affected his own family that has helped lead to his passion for understanding it and guiding others. He has been incredibly supportive of ChildNEXUS and was gracious enough to allow me to republish his ADHD fact sheets on our website. So listen on to learn the science behind ADHD and several of the key principles for raising a child with the disorder. Show Notes: [3:16] - The fourth edition of Dr. Barkley's best selling book Taking Charge of ADHD: The Complete, Authoritative Guide for Parents became available in 2020. There is also a companion guide called The 12 Principles for Raising a Child with ADHD. [3:56] - Dr. Barkley explains that a superficial definition of ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disability in the emergence of two mental functions that we all possess: the capacity to pay attention and the ability to inhibit excessive action. [6:41] - When you look at ADHD beyond the superficial level, you can see how debilitating it can be. [7:22] - Dr. Barkley explains the inhibition dimension of ADHD and how it appears in children with ADHD. [9:37] - The hyperactivity we see not only affects movement, but also manifests as excessive talking and interrupting. [10:06] - Another type of impulsivity that most people don't talk about is motivational impulsivity. [11:04] - Those with ADHD don't value delayed gratification and consequences which can lead to problems with some types of intervention. [13:00] - The emotional impulsivity in ADHD is different from mood disorders because the emotions are rational, just not controlled. [14:20] - Many times, these impulsivities are missed especially when manifested in preschoolers with ADHD. [15:19] - Dr. Barkley describes how ADHD impacts a child's executive functioning development from preschool onward. [16:46] - Across development, ADHD is first and foremost a self-regulation problem. Relative to your age, one is not able to do what their peers can. [19:04] - What is normal age-appropriate behavior and what is cause for concern? ADHD begins where impairment begins. [20:11] - The dimensionality is something that can cause a lot of confusion and misconceptions. [22:20] - Raising a child with ADHD has been found through research to be as stressful and as challenging as raising a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder. [23:32] - In the 1970s when Dr. Barkley entered the field, it was believed that ADHD came from bad parenting. [25:14] - Dr. Barkley emphasizes the importance of finding strengths and aptitudes of a child with ADHD even if they are “outside the box.” [27:12] - There are a lot of pathways to success and it's not all about making money. It is about finding something that is meaningful to you and following it. Those with ADHD can do that in spite of their difficulties. [28:45] - The next step is to find opportunities in the community that help the child with ADHD with their aptitude. Develop the non-traditional aptitude and be in their corner all the time. [30:04] - Focusing solely on excellence in school will not lead to success for children with ADHD. [31:51] - Dr. Barkley discusses the importance of true acceptance and throwing your ideas of “good parenting” out the window. Greg Newbold is a fine art painter and illustrator based near Salt Lake City, Utah. Greg says that for him, “art is a soulful expression.” His hope is that a piece of him comes out at the end of his brush onto the surface of a painting and connects with the spirit of the viewer. Greg's compelling visions of the American West are distilled through the filter of his own life experiences. Building upon that, he applies his own unique creative filters of simplification, light, color, shape, and texture. This creative alchemy results in paintings that feature bold composition, strong value structure, sensitive color, and intriguing narrative. Greg's evocative, contemporary paintings are eagerly desired by collectors from around the globe. Greg characterizes his approach to painting as Stylized Realism. Greg explains how his experience as an illustrator helped him develop a diverse vocabulary that he can draw upon for his oil paintings. He explains that doing the hard work of putting in the brush mileage he put into his illustrations and paintings allowed his unique voice to appear naturally. Greg gained valuable insights into how many famous artists worked as he developed the illustrations in a series of children's books authored by his wife, Amy. The first of these books is titled, If Picasso Painter a Snowman. That successful volume was followed up by, If da Vinci Painted a Dinosaur, which includes a recreation of Coolidge's famous Dogs Playing Poker painting reimagined as Dinosaurs Playing Poker. For each book, Greg did a deep dive into the methods of famous artists so that he could create the whimsical paintings used in each book. Greg is comfortable with both traditional and digital techniques. He embraces the use of technology where it makes sense to do so in his art. Greg and his wife Amy are also active in encouraging youth in schools with their delightful lectures about art and art-making. Greg loves to award each student with their own copy of a Creative License. The students are encouraged to express themselves and create art in their own voice, in their own way. No one can tell them they have to do it just one way because now they have their own Creative License. Personally, I think no matter how young or old we are, we can all use Greg's Creative License! Painting outdoors is an important component of Greg's artmaking. Even more important to Greg is also painting outdoors with others who are much better than he is. It is key to his artistic growth. Greg explains why he is drawn to painting landscapes inspired by the South West. He discusses how he develops a painting and how he upscales a painting from a study and the challenges involved in doing so. He talks about the materials he likes to use, and the effects his mark-making leaves on the surface of each of his paintings. Just as the ancient cliffs of sandstone show evidence of the effect of the relentless forces of water and wind, so do the tactile, expressive marks upon the surface of a Greg Newbold painting give Evidence of Process. Today I'm speaking with Carl Wieman, 2001 Nobel Laureate, Professor of Physics and Professor of the Graduate School of Education at Stanford University, and recipient of the 2020 Yidan Prize, the world's largest prize in education. He answers the question: How do people learn to make better decisions? “They practice them, and they get feedback on that practice, and they practice some more. If you practice something very intently, your brain changes the connections to be better at doing it.” We discuss what he has uncovered in his scientific study of teaching and learning. For today's complete show notes, go to: www.physicsalive.com/carl Toward the end of the episode, Carl mentions a series of three papers. Each paper discusses courses that are all taught with same set of principles. Those principles are: Practicing the thinking you want students to do, monitoring that, do timely feedback, and then letting them go back to practicing. Improved Learning in a Large-Enrollment Physics Class Transforming a fourth year modern optics course using a deliberate practice framework Active learning in a graduate quantum field theory course What are some resources for new teachers or a teacher wanting to do something new? Who hasn't been pitched a buffered note at this point? Participate in the upside and get credited back the first 10% in losses. What could go wrong? There are billions of dollars of these things out there, and they're even creeping into the ETF and mutual fund space. How exactly do they work? Which options are being bought and sold? Is there hidden risk? What about exotics and knock ins and all the rest…. Do they cause extra liquidity issues for the market as a whole? We sat down with Exceed Investments Joe Halpern in the lively chat to find out just how these buffered notes work, and what investors need to be careful of. Listen to Joe talk about finding the right call to sell to cover the spend, why tail risk is much more important than a 10% buffer, field hospitals in Central Park, what it was like unwinding Lehman Brothers structured products, crafting exotic derivatives at ING, Stevie Cohen as the Mets owner, why duration matters, and how the risk/reward profile of a buffered note changes as the market moves. In today's episode, we are continuing our conversation about Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) with the incredible Dr. Russell Barkley. I am honored to have him on the Diverse Thinking Different Learning Podcast as an internationally recognized authority in ADHD and I know that this discussion will be a great resource for parents, families, educators, and clinicians working with the child with ADHD. Show Notes: [2:16] - The fourth edition of Dr. Barkley's best-selling book Taking Charge of ADHD: The Complete, Authoritative Guide for Parents became available in 2020. There is also a companion guide called The 12 Principles for Raising a Child with ADHD. [2:56] - Dr. Barkley explains that a superficial definition of ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disability in the emergence of two mental functions that we all possess: the capacity to pay attention and the ability to inhibit excessive action. [4:29] - If you “look under the hood,” ADHD is actually a disorder of self-regulation and the major executive functions [5:41] - When you look at ADHD beyond the superficial level, you can see how debilitating it can be. [6:22] - Dr. Barkley explains the inhibition dimension of ADHD and how it appears in children with ADHD. [7:37] - The hyperactivity we see not only affects movement, but also manifests as excessive talking and interrupting. [8:00] - Cognitive impulsivity is another symptom of ADHD. [9:06] - Another type of impulsivity that most people don't talk about is motivational impulsivity. [10:04] - Those with ADHD don't value delayed gratification and consequences which can lead to problems with some types of intervention. [10:29] - People with ADHD also show their emotions very quickly and more strongly and can't recover from them as quickly as others. [12:00] - The emotional impulsivity in ADHD is different from mood disorders because the emotions are rational, just not controlled. [13:20] - Many times, these impulsivities are missed especially when manifested in preschoolers with ADHD. [14:19] - Dr. Barkley describes how ADHD impacts a child's executive functioning development from preschool onward. [15:46] - Across development, ADHD is first and foremost a self-regulation problem. Relative to your age, one is not able to do what their peers can. [17:07] - What makes people with ADHD different from those without ADHD is not qualitative. [18:04] - What is normal age-appropriate behavior and what is cause for concern? ADHD begins where impairment begins. [19:11] - The dimensionality is something that can cause a lot of confusion and misconceptions. [21:20] - Raising a child with ADHD has been found through research to be as stressful and as challenging as raising a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder. [22:32] - In the 1970s when Dr. Barkley entered the field, it was believed that ADHD came from bad parenting. [24:14] - Dr. Barkley emphasizes the importance of finding strengths and aptitudes of a child with ADHD even if they are “outside the box.” [26:12] - There are a lot of pathways to success and it's not all about making money. It is about finding something that is meaningful to you and following it. Those with ADHD can do that in spite of their difficulties. [27:45] - The next step is to find opportunities in the community that help the child with ADHD with their aptitude. Develop the non-traditional aptitude and be in their corner all the time. [29:04] - Focusing solely on excellence in school will not lead to success for children with ADHD. [30:51] - Dr. Barkley discusses the importance of true acceptance and throwing your ideas of “good parenting” out the window. [31:55] - Focusing on what is developmentally critical over the trivial can improve your relationship with your child. [34:33] - Because of a strong relationship, when consequences become inevitable, you won't be driving your child away. [36:23] - Dr. Barkley's book comes highly recommended for parents with practical strategies for raising a child with ADHD. [37:21] - Why did Dr. Barkley write The 12 Principles of Raising a Child with ADHD? [39:07] - The book is a great next step for parents after a diagnosis. [40:09] - Dr. Barkley shares the personal impact ADHD has had on him, including the death of his twin brother. [42:07] - Time blindness is something people with ADHD really suffer with and can be very demoralizing and devastating if not understood. About Our Guest: Russell A. This episode I describe how we see, meaning how our eyes focus, convert light information into electricity the rest of the brain can understand and how our brain creates the incredible thing we experience as “sight”. I also describe how we can train and support our visual system to improve at any age. I describe more than a dozen protocols to support depth perception, offset near-sightedness, improve mood, sleep, and our ability to focus (both visual focus and our mental focus generally). I also explain how to use eyesight to improve our levels of alertness and why visual hallucinations, lazy eyes and colorblindness occur. Are you a pushover? So many riders describe themselves this way. And this is unfortunate because what’s happening between you and your horse on the ground, is a good reflection of whats going on in the saddle. Groundwork is so important. Every single conversation you have with your horse starts and ends on the ground. Failing to pay attention to what is happening there is simply setting you both up for frustration and maybe even anxiety. What Are Boundaries Boundaries are the rule book between you and your horse. They are where you define what’s ‘okay’ and what’s not. And it is the lack of a boundary that causes issues when the arise between horses and their riders. Often you won’t even recognize you have a boundary until your horse has overstepped it. Think back to the last time you felt a ‘negative’ or less than desirable emotion when working with your horse. I can bet it was because he either did something or didn’t do something, you expected of him. You see, you had a rule. A boundary. And your horse broke it. Read More... Ever experienced worsened headache/back pain/bowels symptoms due to STRESS? Maybe you suffer from a chronic problem with a specific body part? Have you ever tried natural horsemanship? The name is a bit of a misnomer; is anything natural about horses and humans interacting and becoming partners? It’s debatable. However, misleading name aside, natural horsemanship can really help to build your partnership with your horse. If - and this is a REALLY giant-sized if - it is done correctly and complements what you are trying to achieve in the saddle. I personally use natural horsemanship in some shape way or form each and every day when interacting with horses. I can almost bet you are too. This is partly due to there being a fairly large shared area that almost all disciplines and methods of working with horses occupy. Horses are horses after all. However, I also use specific methods on an almost daily basis which have their roots in natural horsemanship Read More... Smoke detectors are a necessity and a code requirement. They’ve changed a lot over the years, so it’s good to get a refresher on what’s available. You used to hear all the time how important it was to replace a smoke detector’s battery twice a year. But lithium-ion batteries changed everything — they can power these devices for up to 10 years. You want to know another great innovation? Multi-station alarms. These wired smoke detectors have wireless companion devices that amplify alarms throughout the house. First Alert and Kidde are just two of the manufacturers, and these are perfect for larger homes, especially those with multiple levels. Listen to the Today’s Homeowner Podcast for more home improvement tips! [02:10] Danny and Joe talk about smoke detection innovations [06:43] Tips for venting fumes from cleaning products [08:24] Tips for replacing a poorly installed shower grab bar [13:41] Simple Solution: The best way to paint louvered doors and shutters [15:49] Carpet cleaning tips you may not know [20:36] Tips to remove layers of paint from wood floors [26:27] How to build a fire pit into a paver patio [29:07] Question of the Week: What causes a water hammer? Simple Solutions Pro Tip for Painting Louvers: Painting louvered doors and shutters is no easy feat, but pro painters have a technique that works well. First, roll on the paint without much regard for neatness; just get the paint on the louvers. Then immediately come back with an angled sash brush and spread out the paint to an even coating. Repeat for the backside of the louvers. Trimming Border Tiles: When installing a tile floor (vinyl or porcelain), you usually have to trim the last row of tiles to fit against the wall. Here’s how to accurately mark those border tiles for a perfect fit every time: Start by laying a full-size tile on top of the tile in the second-to-the-last row. Place another full tile on top, and slide it up against the wall. Draw a pencil line along the edge of the top tile to mark the tile below; the pencil line represents the cut line. Remove the middle tile and cut it along the line. Question of the Week Q: “When I flush my toilet on the second floor of my townhome, I have been hearing what I’ll describe as a knocking noise. (The noise sounds like it’s in the wall behind the toilet). “It knocks immediately following flushing and continues for 30 to 60 seconds. It started getting louder recently. Do you know what’s causing this? I don’t know who to contact to fix it. Thank you!” A: We know what that is: the old water hammer! Water, which is under pressure, rushes through the pipes, and when there’s an abrupt stop, like when you close the water valve, the water bangs into the pipes. That’s the sound you’re hearing, and there is a way around it. Listen to learn more! With all of the various exchange listings and marketing collaborations between Hive and major players in the crypto space, there has been a lot of increased attention over the past few weeks as Hive gains ground and takes shape. Hive is a complex ecosystem of applications, users, social interactions, rewards pools and more. Trying to navigate this blockchain as a newcomer can be daunting and many are left without a clue where to start. LeoPedia is also starting to take shape as we put together more guides and resources about crypto & finance. Since the explosion in price, attention and listings for Hive, I began working on a Hive guide. I've done Hive guides in past videos, but never a full-on comprehensive walkthrough of the entire chain. Obviously, there's a lot more to Hive than what I cover in this ~55 minute video. What I do cover here are the basics of Hive alongside various walkthroughs of the main features of Hive that I think any interested investor, user, entrepreneur, developer, etc. should learn before diving into this blockchain. If you take an hour to sit down and read/watch/listen to this guide, I think you'll come out of it extremely impressed with what Hive is today and what it is aiming to be tomorrow. We also talk about why secrecy isn’t necessarily a good thing, the differences between witchcraft in the US and Europe, how to do syncretism responsibly, why lineage doesn’t matter, why gendered polarity isn’t necessary, and what it means to be a priest of any tradition. Janet Farrar: Janet was initiated by Alex and Maxine Sanders in 1970. Janet Owen (later Farrar) became involved in the Craft after a friend started regularly visiting the Sander’s. Janet, being from a Christian background, went along to dissuade her friend from becoming involved, but was impressed by the moral structure that Wicca had and joined the Sander’s Coven. It is here she met her husband to be and co-author, Stewart Farrar, who initially became involved around Alex Sanders as a reporter for the Reveille, and was then asked to write What Witches Do. With her late husband she has written over a dozen books on the Craft to date. Titles which include Eight Sabbats For Witches’, The Witches’ Way (one of the first books to suggest the southern hemisphere turn for festivals in Australia), The Witches’ Goddess, The Witches God, Spells and How They Work. Janet has also had one book published jointly with Virginia Russel, The Magical History of the Horse, and with her current partner Gavin Bone, three books; The Pagan Path, The Healing Craft, The Dictionary of European Gods and Goddesses, and their latest work The Inner Mysteries. Their books have become some of the most influential in Witchcraft and have set the mould for modern Craft writers worldwide. Since her initial introduction to the Alexandrian Craft with Stewart, she, with Gavin Bone has developed her own unique brand of Witchcraft and have been honorary initiations into several other traditions, including traditional Italian Strega. She prefers just to be called witch rather than be considered of any specific tradition. In 1999 she became ordained as third level Clergy with The Aquarian Tabernacle Church. Gavin Bone: Born in Portsmouth, Gavin Bone was originally initiated into Seax-Wicca in 1986. He trained as a Registered Nurse, is a practising Spiritual (naturally empathic) Healer and a trained Reflexologist. He met Janet and Stewart Farrar in 1989 at the Pagan Link conference in Leicester and moved to Ireland in 1992 after accompanying them on a tour of the United States. He co-authored The Pagan Path, The Healing Craft and The Complete Dictionary of European Gods and Goddesses with Janet and Stewart. In the UK he was both a Pagan Link and Pagan Federation contact in early ‘90’s and this led him after his move to Ireland to set up the Pagan Information Network; a contact network for pagans in the Republic and the North of Ireland. Like Janet, he is an honorary member of the Strega tradition, and ordained third Level Clergy with the Aquarian Tabernacle Church. Both Janet and Gavin tour regularly doing intensive workshops in the United States and Europe, as well as past tours in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. They have study groups in the US and Italy. They believe strongly in the idea of Wicca being both progressive and dynamic in nature, while remaining a clergy of those dedicated to serving the Gods and Goddesses. Their book The Inner Mysteries is their most radical work to date emphasizing the non-dogmatic creativity of Wicca, and was re-released as a second edition in 2012. This has now been eclipsed by their newest work, Lifting the Veil: A Witches' Guide to Trance-Prophesy, Drawing Down the Moon and Ecstatic Ritual which focuses on their 20 years of work in promoting, and teaching deity connection, Trance-Prophesy and possession. They are responsible for creating The Alliance of Progressive Covens (APeCs) a network of like-minded covens with groups in the US, Uk, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy.
