What does it really mean to live with courage and conviction? On today's episode, we sit down with Dr. John Amaechi — organizational psychologist, New York Times bestselling author, and the first openly gay NBA player. Along his journey, John always set out to be himself in a world that repeatedly told him he was too big, too soft-spoken, too smart, too different. In this conversation, John brings us into parts of his internal world that are hard for any of us to talk about: navigating shame, identity, belonging, and the responsibility of not shrinking so others can stay comfortable. He talks about the cost of visibility, and the radical power of deciding that your worth is not up for negotiation. In this episode, we explore:How to move from clarity to conviction in your personal and professional lifeWhy vulnerability is a core strength of courageous leadershipThe key to creating relationships rooted in empathy and presenceHow to develop moral courage — and know when to walk awayWhat it means to lead from your first principlesThrough stories drawn from sport, psychology, and leadership, John challenges our cultural obsession with individual achievement and redefines what it means to succeed — not by how high you climb, but by how deeply you care and how many people you lift along the way. ___________________________________________________Links & Resources:Subscribe to our Youtube Channel for more conversations at the intersection of high performance, leadership, and wellbeing: https://www.youtube.com/c/FindingMasteryGet exclusive discounts and support our amazing sponsors! This week on Sinica, I speak with Zhong Na, a novelist and essayist whose new piece, "Murder House," appears in the inaugural issue of Equator — a striking new magazine devoted to longform writing that crosses borders, disciplines, and cultures. In January 2024, a young couple, both Tsinghua-educated Google engineers living in a $2.5 million Silicon Valley home, became the center of a tragedy that captivated Chinese social media far more than American outlets. Zhong Na explores how the case became a collective Rorschach test — a mirror held up to contemporary Chinese society, exposing cracks in the myths of meritocracy, the prestige of global tech firms, and shifting notions of gender, class, and the Chinese dream itself. We discuss the gendered reactions online, the dimming of America's appeal, the emotional costs of the immigrant success story, and the craft of writing about tragedy with compassion but without sentimentality.5:06 – How the story first reached Zhong Na, and the Luigi Mangione comparison 7:05 – Discovering she attended the same Chengdu high school as the alleged murderer Chen Liren 8:10 – The collaboration with Equator and Joan Didion's influence 10:30 – Education, class, and the cracks in China's meritocracy myth 16:01 – Tiger mothers vs. lying flat: two responses to a rigged system 19:12 – The pandemic and the dimming of the American dream 22:49 – Chinese men as perpetrators: immigrant stress and the loss of patriarchal privilege 25:56 – The gender war online: moral autopsy and victim-blaming 30:25 – The obsession with the ex-girlfriend and attraction to the accused 34:37 – The murder house, Chinese numerology, and the rise of Gen Z metaphysics 37:08 – Geopolitics, the China Initiative, and rethinking America as a destination 39:42 – Craft and moral compass: learning from Didion and Janet Malcolm 42:31 – Zhong Na's fiction: writing Chinese experiences without catering to Western expectationsPaying it forward: Gavin Jacobson and the editorial team at EquatorRecommendations: Zhong Na: Elsewhere by Yan Ge Kaiser: Made in Ethiopia, documentary by Xinyan Yu and Max Duncan (available on PBS)See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this masterclass episode of the Smart Real Estate Coach Podcast, I sit down with Trevor Mauch, founder and CEO of Carrot, a five-time Inc. 5000 company that's helped thousands of real estate investors and agents generate highly motivated seller leads online. Trevor's not just a "software guy" either—he's a buy-and-hold commercial investor himself, doing owner-carry deals and turning dead space into productive luxury apartments in his small town of Roseburg, Oregon. We start with something almost everyone asks me at bootcamps: lead gen. Trevor breaks down what he calls evergreen marketing, online lead systems that work for you 24/7 instead of keeping you on the hamster wheel of cold calling and direct mail. Then we go deep on AI search visibility, how Google's AI overviews and tools like ChatGPT are changing SEO, and what you can do right now to win in that new world. From there we shift into entrepreneur mindset: breaking through revenue "pain lines," designing your calendar around energy instead of just money, and building a business that actually funds your life vision instead of trapping you. Trevor shares exactly how he scaled Carrot to an eight-figure company, the role coaching and masterminds played, and why your business should give you energy, income, and impact, not just revenue. Key Talking Points of the Episode 00:00 Introduction 01:04 Who is Trevor Mauch? 03:02 Trevor's background: Growing Carrot and investing in real estate 04:55 The problem with "hamster wheel" marketing 06:56 How evergreen marketing generates inbound online leads 07:57 The impact of AI in how SEO works today 09:15 Practical AI SEO tips you can implement today 12:26 Taking advantage of hyperlocal links to build credibility online 15:56 Where to find Trevor and the AI Search Visibility Challenge 17:20 Business growth in 3s and 10s: The "Pain Lines" 19:50 Avoiding the "shiny object" churn through 12-month contracts 21:02 Optimizing for revenue vs optimizing for energy 22:01 The Quarterly Energy Audit: Identifying top energy-drainers 23:07 Redefining success and the purpose of being in business 27:09 Business game-changers: Coaching programs and masterminds 31:21 Fitness, faith, and proximity 34:04 What's next: EPIC Coaching, AI, and expanding Carrot Quotables "Business should give us work that interests and energizes us, it should fund our vision, and it should help us deliver an impact we're proud of." Do Business. Do Life. — The Financial Advisor Podcast — DBDL
Advisors everywhere are feeling the pressure to scale, hire, and prepare for a wave of retirements that will reshape the industry. At the same time, firms are struggling to attract women, keep next-gen advisors engaged, and build teams that actually create freedom instead of more work. That's why I wanted to bring Lindsey Lewis on the show. After building a $200M book in her first year at Vanguard, Lindsey shifted her career toward research at The American College so she could help the profession fix its biggest blind spots—especially around women in finance, advisor retention, and the future talent pipeline. We dig into the data shaping the next decade of financial services: what women uniquely bring to advisory firms, why Gen Z is more interested in this profession than any generation before them, and how training, compensation, and career clarity determine whether young advisors stay or disappear.4 of the biggest insights from Lindsey …#1.) The Biggest Talent Gap in Advisor HistoryWe're staring down a generational shift in this profession. Tens of thousands of advisors are aging out. And when you run the math, the industry would need to hire over a million new people just to meet today's demand. Lindsey walks through the data behind this massive workforce gap and why the firms who build real training, career paths, and development now will be miles ahead of everyone else over the next decade.#2.) Women Advisors Are a Huge Missed OpportunityThe numbers don't lie: women make up 25% of CFPs… but only a small fraction are in sales/growth positions. And it's not a talent issue, it's how the industry has shaped roles, pay structures, and expectations over time. Lindsey breaks down why women often outperform in retention, personalization, referrals, and relationship depth, yet get pushed into service tracks or stay risk-averse because of cultural narratives, confidence gaps, or biases inside firms. The upside for the firms who fix this is enormous. Women represent one of the biggest untapped growth engines in financial services.#3.) Gen Z Wants In, But Poor Onboarding Pushes Them OutHere's the part no one expects: financial services is now Gen Z's top-preferred industry over tech and medicine. But at the same time, 1 in 4 early-career advisors say their onboarding wasn't effective — and those are the same people who leave within seven years. Lindsey lays out exactly what this generation needs to stay: mentorship, sponsorship, clear career paths, ongoing education, and roles that evolve with their confidence. If you want a talent pipeline that sticks, it starts with the first 12–18 months.#4.) Compensation Makes or Breaks Your TeamComp plans aren't just about money, they're about psychology. Young advisors need stability before they're ready to take on variable comp. Others crave upside and hate the idea of a flat salary. Lindsey explains the difference between income risk tolerance and income risk capacity, and why misalignment between the person and the pay structure is one of the biggest drivers of turnover. When firms get comp wrong, they churn through talent. When they get it right, people stay, grow, and eventually step into the very roles the industry is desperate to fill. What if you've reached that level of success and now you've hit the ceiling? That no matter how many doors you knock on or how many calls you make, even if you get three to five sales opportunities every single day, you will eventually run out of time? This limitation occurs because your business depends entirely on you. While you have your team and community in place, maybe it is time for you to spend time teaching others more to master self-duplication. In this Diamond Life Mentor Uncut episode, Balazs W Kardos is back with another Accelerator to discuss his strategy for duplication and how to create repeatable processes, especially when you feel you have tried everything for the team and nothing happens. You will hear powerful insights and motivation around:Improving at teaching othersDuplicating yourself in businessManaging expectations in building a communitySucceeding in personal developmentValuing experience and skill transferWhen you bring a new person onto your team, you must set the expectation correctly because, aside from sales, you are inviting them into a personal development business. Balazs wants you to show them how you work and to help them realize that their mindset, skills from past jobs, and resilience will help them succeed in the future.Lastly, keep teaching and attract individuals who are more skilled, intelligent, and influential than you. Making this change will significantly boost your business."The majority of them did not buy, and I just kept doing them anyway. That's a lot of work. Three to five a day, not including following up, not including prospecting, not including content, not including training my team, just purely opportunities to sell three to five a day, every single day, seven days a week." - Balazs W KardosListen to the full episode now to get the step-by-step framework for building a self-replicating system to keep your community growing and unstoppable.Want a Personalized Plan for Business & Life Optimization?Book A FREE Call Connect with Balazs W Kardos:WebsiteFacebookThe Diamond Life CommunityLinkedInYouTubeInstagramThe Diamond Life Mentor Instagram

In this Business Breakdown Live episode, Brad and I sit down with the incredible Jackie Hirsch, a veteran business broker who's seen hundreds of deals go right—and plenty go wrong. We dive deep into one of the most under-discussed but critical topics in business: integrity. Whether you're buying, selling, or partnering, Jackie shares how to recognize red flags early, trust your intuition when something feels off, and protect yourself with data and due diligence. We swap wild stories—from fake bank statements and shady buyers to deals saved by gut instinct—and break down the fine line between taking a risk and ignoring your better judgment. Jackie also shares her best insider tips for first-time buyers and sellers: how long deals really take, what to look for in an attorney, and why preparation is everything.Key Takeaways:- Integrity over income. No amount of money is worth compromising your values.- Trust your intuition. If something feels off—even without data—it probably is.- Back it up with data. Gut feelings matter, but always verify through research and documents.- Beware of fake funding. Confirm proof of funds directly with a lender before wasting time.- Preparation wins deals. Show up with your bio, financials, and a clear understanding of your experience.- Find the right legal help. Work with attorneys who specialize in business transactions, not generalists.- Play the long game. You're not just closing deals—you're building a reputation and lifelong relationships.Final thought:Business moves fast, but integrity lasts forever. Trust your instincts, do your homework, and remember—a deal that doesn't feel right is one you don't need to chase.
On this episode, I breakdown eight little-known mobile apps that each generate around $50,000+ per month and explain why they work. I walk through specific examples—from AI video generators and Bible note-takers to vinyl pricing tools and AI English tutors—then explain the common patterns behind their success. The second half of the episode is devoted to six clear frameworks for spotting high-potential niches and designing simple, sticky mobile apps around them. I end the episode with a batch of extra startup ideas built on high-intent inputs like photos, videos, and scans so listeners can “vibe code” their own profitable apps in 2026. Timestamps 00:00 – Intro 02:02 – App 1: Flashloop: AI Video Generator for Viral Character Clips 03:26 – App 2: Bible Note-Taker & Prayer Recorder for Churchgoers 06:35 – App 3: AI Home Decor Interior Design App and Visualization Pain 08:48 – App 4: Moji Lab: Emoji/Sticker Packs and Expression as a Business 11:43 – App 5: Vinyl Snap: Scanning Vinyl Records for Accurate Pricing 13:51 – App 6: Genora AI: Bundling Multiple LLMs into One Assistant 16:45 – App 7: Logo Maker: AI Generated Logos 18:57 – App 8: Menu Fit: Healthy Eating Recommendations at Any Restaurant 20:44 – App 9: LangLearn: Personal AI English Tutor and Duolingo Comparison 22:37 – App 10: Zozo Fit 3D Body Scanner: Tracking Body Change, Not the Scale 25:04 – The “ 50K MRR App Framework” 31:30 – Bonus Startup Ideas Key Points Profitable mobile apps often do one high-intent, recurring job for a specific identity-based group, then charge a subscription around that behavior. Many breakout apps turn photos, videos, or scans (high-signal inputs) into premium insights like valuations, design plans, or tailored recommendations. Simple, one-screen interfaces with clear before/after transformations make these AI-powered tools feel approachable and addictive to use. The “50K MRR App Framework” combines spending power, repeating problems, visual inputs, accuracy needs, and bad existing tools to guide idea selection. New app ideas can be generated by pairing these frameworks with underserved niches like golf swings, pet health, used cars, or RV layouts. Numbered Section Summaries Why Mobile Apps Are Printing Money in 2026 The host opens by arguing that now is an incredible time to build mobile apps, pointing to new apps that have appeared “out of nowhere” and reached $50K+ per month. He cites a tweet listing 10 such apps launched in the last 180 days and sets the goal of reverse engineering what makes them work so listeners can apply the patterns to their own ideas. The 50K MRR App Framework The “50K MRR App Framework”: find a group that (1) spends money, (2) has a repeating problem, (3) uses photos/videos as inputs, (4) cares deeply about accuracy, and (5) suffers from bad existing tools. He walks through how vinyl collectors fit every criterion and stresses that while the framework is simple, execution still requires great UX, clean UI, and the right niche. The goal is to make idea selection easier by checking all five boxes before committing to an app. Six Supporting Frameworks for Designing Hit Apps I expands into six additional frameworks: start with a “nerve” (identity, urgency, stakes, repetition); solve one job that always must be done; build around a single high-intent input (photo, address, object); use AI to unlock a premium insight (price, diagnosis, summary, design plan); wrap it in a simple, desirable interface (one screen, one button, one transformation); and create a recurring behavior loop that pulls users back daily or weekly. He summarizes these in a conceptual pipeline: high-intent input → AI premium insight → simple interface → recurring loop → $50K MRR. AI-integrated tools, such as OpenAI's Atlas and Microsoft Teams, are introducing new trust and identity risks, particularly through vulnerabilities like prompt injections and guest access features. The Atlas browser, launched on October 21, 2025, has been identified as having security flaws that could allow attackers to inject harmful instructions. Similarly, Microsoft Teams has a vulnerability that permits attackers to bypass security protections when users join external tenants as guests. These developments highlight the fragility of AI integrations and the need for robust security measures in collaborative environments. The FBI has reported over $262 million in losses due to account takeover fraud schemes, with more than 5,100 complaints filed this year. Cybercriminals are employing social engineering tactics to gain unauthorized access to online banking and payroll accounts, often locking victims out by changing passwords. The FBI recommends that individuals monitor their financial accounts closely, use complex passwords, and enable multi-factor authentication to mitigate these risks. This trend underscores the importance of managing trust and identity in security practices, as attackers increasingly exploit human vulnerabilities rather than technical flaws. In the managed service provider (MSP) sector, a recent survey by OpenText Cybersecurity revealed that while 92% of MSPs are experiencing growth driven by interest in AI, fewer than half feel prepared to implement AI tools effectively. This marks a significant decline from the previous year's 90% readiness. Additionally, 71% of MSPs reported that their small and medium-sized business clients prefer bundled security solutions, indicating a shift towards integrated offerings that simplify decision-making for clients. The findings suggest that MSPs need to focus on data governance and readiness before deploying AI solutions. For MSPs and IT service leaders, the key takeaway is that modern security is increasingly about managing identity and data governance rather than merely adding more tools. As AI vulnerabilities and account takeover fraud become more prevalent, providers must prioritize establishing secure trust boundaries and effective data management practices. What Happens When You Stop Juggling Spaghetti and Start Planning Profit? Have you ever felt like your business is just spaghetti thrown against a wall? You're spinning plates, putting out fires, and wondering which pieces will stick. Joseph Cadavos knows that feeling. With a real estate business closing 90-110 transactions a year, a wife running a med spa an hour away, and three school-aged kids, life was chaos. But here's what changed everything: He stopped trying to do it all and started doing what actually mattered. In this episode, Brandon sits down with Joseph to talk about his year in the Profit Planning Network. This isn't your typical "business success story." It's raw, real, and refreshingly honest about the messy parts of business ownership that nobody posts on Instagram. You'll discover: Why blocking time with your spouse on Google Calendar might be the most profitable thing you do this year How two completely opposite businesses (making people pretty vs. buying ugly houses) used the same framework to find clarity The surprising way AI helped them understand their marriage better What "profit planning" actually means (spoiler: it's not what you think) How having a buffer changes everything when marketing challenges hit Key Quote: "I don't care what you make gross—what matters is what you keep at the end of the month." — Joseph Cadavos This conversation will make you rethink everything about how you're running your business. And maybe, just maybe, it'll convince you to finally schedule that date night. Ready to learn more about creating a business that doesn't consume your life?
