More Post-Dispatch podcasts. Please consider subscribing. Back from Orlando, Florida, and the annual Winter Meetings and into the chill of St. Louis, Post-Dispatch baseball writer Derrick Goold shares with editor Nathan Mills what he learned about the Cardinals stoking the hot stove for a busy few weeks heading toward the holidays. The Cardinals gave a glimpse into their enhanced scouting staff and expanded view of the marketplace as well as revealed how they may look to add the same roles they've been looking to trade and what traits they're seeking in the pitchers they continue to collect. The Brendan Donovan market is so strong that other teams are wondering what they can get for their infielders. The Willson Contreras market is starting to take shape, but will it matter if he won't accept a trade? And the Nolan Arenado market is going to be slower to develop. All of that, plus Mills sternly rebukes Goold's suggestion that the Dodgers go ahead and get it over and just trade for Mr. and Mrs. Met already and complete the Edwin Diaz trumpet-blaring entry into the ninth inning. There is also an unexpected power ranking of mascots. In its 13th season as one of the first and most widely heard podcasts on baseball and the Cardinals, the Best Podcast in Baseball has reached a new season-high with 30 episodes. Each episode is sponsored weekly by Closets by Design of St. Louis, is a production of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, StlToday.com, and lead baseball writer Derrick Goold.
In this episode of PhotoWork with Sasha Wolf, Sasha is joined by photographer, publisher, editor, and educator Nelson Chan. Together, they trace the winding path that led Nelson to his dream job as a professor at the Rhode Island School of Design. Along the way, Nelson reflects on the “guardian angels” who helped him stay the course, the openness that allowed unexpected opportunities to shape his trajectory, and the community of friends and collaborators who eventually inspired the founding of TIS Books. Sasha and Nelson also talk about the value of building connections, putting yourself out there, and treating your career as a marathon rather than a sprint. https://www.nelsonchanphotography.com/ https://www.tisbooks.pub/ Nelson Chan was born in New Jersey to immigrant parents from Hong Kong and Taiwan and has spent most of his life between the States and Hong Kong. Having grown up between two continents, this immigrant experience influences the majority of his work. Nelson received his BFA and MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and the Hartford Art School, respectively. He has been exhibited nationally and internationally at institutions such as the Museum of Chinese in America, New York, NY; Boston Center for the Arts, Boston, MA; The Print Center, Philadelphia, PA; Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, Germany; and 798 Space, Beijing, China. His books are collected in the institutional libraries of The MET, The Guggenheim, SEMOMA, The Whitney Museum, The Harry Ransom Center, and MoMA, among others. Along with his own photographic work, book publishing and education are extensions of, what Nelson refers to as, an industrious studio practice. He is co-founder of TIS books, an independent art book publisher and was production manager at the Aperture Foundation from 2016-19. In 2025, Nelson was awarded tenure at California College of the Arts but ultimately left the Bay Area to teach at the Rhode Island School of Design as an associate professor of photography.

In this episode of the Uploft Interior Design Podcast, I continue my conversation with Maria Failla from the Growing Joy podcast as we dive into designing her new living space in Florida. We explore her earthy mid-century modern aesthetic, focusing on a color palette of baby blue, hazy golden yellow, and sage green for her living room. Maria shares her idea for a personal art piece inspired by a cherished photo, but I suggest that a large mirror might be a better fit to enhance light and space. We also discuss her upcoming bedroom design, including rug sizes and the balance of furniture materials. Throughout our chat, I offer practical design tips and insights, hoping to inspire listeners to embrace their unique style while navigating their own design challenges. In today's episode, I sit down with Rachael Grochowski, founder of RHG Architecture + Design, for a conversation about the deeper purpose of the spaces we inhabit. Rachael invites us to rethink design not as decoration or function alone, but as a pathway to connection, meaning, and self-discovery. Together, we explore how the environments we create can nurture our well-being, support who we're becoming, and help us feel more grounded in our daily lives. Rachael shares: Three key areas of the home where intentional design can have the greatest impact How thoughtful details and unique objects can spark belonging and bring us closer—both to ourselves and one another Why design, at its core, is an invitation to slow down, notice, and feel more at home in the world If you're curious about how your space influences your energy, attention, and sense of self, this conversation will inspire you to look at your home with new eyes. Brad and Abbey Zerbo host a blackout-lit, high-energy conversation with Adrian of Rise Attire, giving viewers an exclusive first look at Darkness by Design | Part 2. Adrian walks through the documentary's deeper investigation into the Balenciaga scandal, the surrealist and occult roots behind high-fashion power players, and the disturbing connections between elite art circles, cultural engineering, and normalized depravity. The trio discuss how the film exposes the influence of figures like Marina Abramović, the hidden history of French pedophile networks, and the intelligence-linked forces behind cultural degeneration. With two sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes insights, and reflections on symbolism, spiritual warfare, and the growing cultural shift toward authenticity and light, this episode blends dark truth with real hope. A raw, compelling look at the making of a documentary designed to wake up a generation.

We always nerd out, but in this episode we're joined in our geek sesh by the incredibly charming, brilliant and funny Lindy West (she/her) and Meagan Hatcher-Mays (she/her) to discuss (drumroll!) The Lord of the Rings trilogy. As you may already know, Hannah and Marcelle share a love of JRR Tolkien's world and in this episode they finally get to discuss Peter Jackson's adaptation from the early aughts. The episode begins with an overview of the books' popularity in the middle of the 20th century and their lasting impact on fantasy and science fiction literature, television and film. Hannah then offers some context for the release of The Fellowship of the Ring. Together, we consider the desire by the public to escape in a post 9/11 world and the fantasy of a pastoral utopia! Hannah then offers some theory! We're talking Arcadia people! This episode is a perfect listen for fans of The Lord of the Rings, as well as anyone who has ever fantasized about knitting in a cottage away from the hustle and bustle of industrialized cities!Works CitedFrey, Angelica. “Cottagecore Debuted 2,300 Years Ago.” JSTOR Daily 11 November 2020. https://daily.jstor.org/cottagecore-debuted-2300-years-ago/. Most people are trying to "goal" their way into a better year. They set resolutions, white-knuckle new habits, and wonder why everything falls apart by March. In this episode, Jim breaks that pattern wide open. 2026 won't rise to the level of your goals. It will fall to the level of your systems—and your systems are built on identity, energy, and emotional mastery. Jim walks you through how elite performers think (Kobe, Brady, Navy SEALs), how your brain literally fights anything that doesn't match your identity, and why stillness and silence—not more noise—are the unlocks for wealth, clarity, and calling. If you're serious about becoming the kind of person for whom wealth, health, and opportunity are inevitable—not accidental—this is your blueprint. What You'll Learn How to recode who you are in 2026. How (and why) to treat energy as currency The confidence flywheel and why action must come before feeling "ready". A practical stillness protocol to hear from God, regulate your emotions, and make higher-quality business and money decisions. Action Steps Complete this sentence: "In 2026, I'm the kind of person who…" Let this identity drive your behavior. Identify one energizer and one drainer. Double the energizer. Delete the drainer. Phone on airplane mode. Sit upright. Breathe 4-2-6 for a few cycles. Do this every day for 30 days. Jim Oliver's Shared Wisdom "Don't ask, 'What do I want in 2026?' Ask, 'Who must I become so that everything I want becomes inevitable?' Change your identity, protect your energy, sit in silence, and then take the courageous step. That's how you become unstoppable."

Restoring a 250-year-old farmhouse isn't just a renovation project. It's a blueprint for modern marketing. That's the lesson from Jean-Christophe Pitié, Chief Marketing and Chief Partner Officer at Contentsquare, who's spent the last five years bringing new life to a centuries-old home outside Paris. In this episode, we break down the marketing lessons hidden in his restoration journey.Together, we explore what B2B marketers can learn from blending heritage with innovation, finding creativity in constraints, and designing connected experiences where every touchpoint matters.About our guest, Jean-Christophe PitiéWith 20+ years of experience in international marketing and partner engagement, Jean-Christophe is committed to supporting companies of all sizes in their digital transformation. Passionate about technology and retail, he spent two decades at Microsoft, where he had the opportunity to contribute to the cloud transformation and to launch Microsoft 365 as well as leading Microsoft Stores. Today, as Chief Marketing and Partnerships Officer at Contentsquare, Jean-Christophe's main mission is to drive customer demand in markets around the world, continue to grow our rich partner ecosystem, and bring holistic customer experience insights to more teams worldwide. What B2B Companies Can Learn From the restoration of a French farmhouse:Honor your legacy while modernizing for today. Great brands, like great houses, balance tradition and innovation. Jean-Christophe explains, “I had architects who came initially, and they wanted to put glass everywhere, tear down some big stone walls, and I'm like, guys, this house has had oak beams for 250 years. I'm not gonna tear them down. I'm gonna keep them.” In B2B, the same logic applies. Your legacy, your history, and your customer trust are part of your brand's foundation. Don't tear them down for the sake of what's trendy. Blend your legacy with fresh, modern layers such as new tech, new storytelling, and new energy, without losing what made your brand distinct. That balance between the old and the new is what gives it lasting beauty and credibility.Constraints fuel creativity. Jean-Christophe says, “Sometimes the best projects come when… you have a constraint… either a location constraint or timing or budget, you get very creative to work around the constraints.” His farmhouse's three-foot-thick stone walls forced him to rethink how to add modern features, and that challenge sparked originality. In B2B, the same holds true. Limited budget? Shrinking timelines? Regulatory hurdles? These are the sparks for inventive ideas. Don't let your constraints kill creativity; let them focus it.Every touchpoint shapes the experience. When restoring a house, you have to look at the whole picture; every room, material, and detail needs to connect. Jean-Christophe shared, “It's a bit like your marketing strategy. You need to connect across channels… every touchpoint matters.” Just like a home's design must flow seamlessly from one room to the next, so should your brand experience, across your website, content, product, and sales. Inconsistent moments break trust.
