White House aide Stephen Miller announced yesterday he believes the fraud uncovered in government transfer payments could be so great - if recovered it could balance the federal budget. This as Nick Shirley has now uncovered fraud in California that appears to dwarf what's been discovered in Minnesota. Steve Moore reacts. The Vice President responds to the idea there s any daylight between him and the President on efforts in Iran as two more senior Iranian leaders have been killed. But the Straight of Hormuz continues to be at a standstill and President Trump is leaning heavily on NATO nations to help secure the Straight to get oil moving to market once again. Army veteran and Director of the Center to Advance Security in America James Fitzpatrick discusses his recent case for the strike on Iran as both legal and America First. Another activist judge says Americas kids must continue with the shot schedule, or something - totally undermining RFK Jr.'s executive leadership on the issue. And the Washington Post says Chicago is stone cold broke and better act fast. -For more info visit the official website: https://chrisstigall.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrisstigallshow/Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChrisStigallFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/chris.stigall/Listen on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/StigallPodListen on Apple Podcasts: https://bit.ly/StigallShowSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In the 1960s, the CIA lost a plutonium-fueled generator on top of a mountain in India. The generator was supposed to power an unmanned listening station, intended to pick up signals from China's missile tests. But when mountaineers ascended the near 26,000-ft Nanda Devi – under the guise of studying the environment – weather got in their way. They left the nuclear device behind and months later, when they returned, it was gone. New York Times reporter Jeffrey Gettleman reconstructed this event with a team of journalists. The story took about seven years, thousands of miles, and earning the trust of many men who had grown old and have since passed away. Since the launch of Operation Epic Fury over two weeks ago, President Trump has said the U.S. has been very successful targeting Iran's missiles and launchers, as well as its navy and its nuclear program. However, many Democrats and even some Republicans—including some members of the MAGA movement—have pushed back against the President's decision to strike Iran. But one big Trump supporter in this conflict is his former Vice President, Mike Pence. Earlier this week, Vice President Pence joined FOX News Rundown host Dave Anthony to discuss Operation Epic Fury. He explained why the President's critics are wrong about their concerns surrounding Israel and the U.S. efforts to dismantle Iran's regime. Despite their falling out after the 2020 election, Pence told the Rundown why he applauds the Commander-in-Chief's objectives and timing. He also discussed his work as the founder of Advancing American Freedom and what the GOP should focus on as the fall midterms approach. We often have to trim our interviews during the week, but we thought you'd like to hear the full conversation. He is not a doctor. No MD. No PhD. No dissertation, residency, license, or verifiable work history. Born July 1946, Tennessee. Lived in Waycross, Georgia 35 years. Now on his father's land in Montgomery County, Tennessee. Bankruptcy filing, tax lien on record. His wife Janelle Fossen is the MRF board secretary. Two board seats, one household. On the 2005 Coast to Coast broadcast, host George Noory calls him a physician and Doctor repeatedly. Buckner never corrects him. He describes Morgellons symptoms accurately but frames the fibers as visually bizarre. They're not — they look like common textile fibers. Send a textGUEST: CHRIS KATULKA, host, Friends of Israel Today RadioHostility or hatred of the Jews and Israel is an age-old scourge of mankind. And it always ends badly for those who get seduced into it.The Egyptian Pharaoh attempted to kill male Jewish babies, and his country was destroyed by God's plagues. Haman in Persia (modern-day Iran) plotted to exterminate all Jews in the kingdom, and he and his 10 sons were executed. In the 20th century, Hitler launched an attempt to annihilate the Jewish people. He died, and Germany lost World War II.There have been many more examples of enmity toward the Jews throughout history and yet the Jewish people continue to survive and even prosper.Anti-Israel, anti-Jewish hostility is inspired by Satan. How so? Satan is driven to thwart God's plan. So to exterminate the Jews before the coming of Jesus Christ, Himself a Jew, would be to foil God's promise of a Savior. To destroy Israel now would be to derail God's promise to save Israel and the return of Christ.Fundamentally, the lack of peace in the Middle East is about Israel's neighbors open hostility toward the Jewish people's presence. The Jews did not take back Israel through force of arms in 1948 but through declarations by Britain and the United Nations. No matter, the newly established State of Israel was attacked immediately by her Arab neighbors. This helps explain why Iran and its proxies across the Middle East, like Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, who although holding differing Islamic beliefs, are united by an unquenchable hatred and motive to destroy Israel. But it's not just the Middle East. The spiritual contagion of enmity toward the Jews and Israel has infected many in the West. The political and theological left, which are basically one and the same, are characterized by this. But what is troubling is that the political and theological right (i.e. conservatives) are succumbing as well. Notable influencers like Tucker Carlson, Candance Owens, and Nick Fuentes, along with many others, openly and loudly deride Israel and the Jews, asserting:The modern-day people in Israel aren't JewsThe Jews control America and the U.S. does Israel's bidding in the Middle EastThe Jews are the great corruptors in the world and seek global dominionIsrael is a genocidal oppressorEven if there was any truth to these defamations, none of it would cancel God's unbreakable promise: “God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! … From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God's choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers; for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (Romans 11:1, 28-29).This weekend on The Christian Worldview, Chris Katulka, host of Friends of Israel Today radio program and Vice President of North American Ministries, joins us to discuss The Dark Spiritual Contagion of Anti-Israel, Anti-Jewish Enmity.Be sure to join us for this important topic that explains much of what is taking place in the world.

More than 25 years after To Err Is Human put patient safety on the national agenda, the crisis persists. The WHO estimates that 1 in 10 patients worldwide experiences harm during medical care, and half of it is preventable. And yet one foundational factor remains overlooked: the well-being of the people delivering care. With more than half of nurses reporting burnout and hundreds of thousands expected to leave the profession, the workforce crisis and the patient safety crisis are now one and the same.  In this Insight from Episode 123: Safer Together | The Architecture of a Movement, Donald Berwick, MD, MPP, FRCP, President Emeritus and Senior Fellow at IHI and former Administrator of CMS, and Patricia McGaffigan, RN, Vice President at IHI and President of the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety, make the case that healthcare must look beyond its own walls, drawing on lessons from aviation and other industries, to build cultures where psychological safety, dignity, and the freedom to speak up are the foundation of safe care. This week kicked off with Turkey announcing the deployment of a number of fighter jets to the occupied part of Cyprus, a move that not only represents a significant escalation in the militarization of the Eastern Mediterranean, where Cyprus has already been targeted by Iranian-made drones, but that may also violate US law. This isn't the only thing putting Cyprus in the headlines this week. Axios and the Financial Times reported Cyprus could potentially mediate talks between Israel and Lebanon after violence broke out between Israel and the Hezbollah militant group. Turkey's moves in the Eastern Mediterranean aren't the only thing worrying analysts and observers. Developments on the domestic front are also keeping those watching the region on alert, as the trial of Ekrem Imamoglu, the imprisoned mayor of Istanbul, kicked off this week. Imamoglu's trial is largely seen as politically motivated and an effort to prevent him from challenging President Erdogan. Sinan Ciddi, Elisa Ewers, Lisel Hintz, and Henri Barkey join Thanos Davelis this week as we take a closer look at Turkey's decision to deploy fighter jets to the occupied part of Cyprus, Israel's escalating offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the trial of Ekrem Imamoglu. 1897 ENTRY OF THE KING OF PERSIAThe following individuals joined the discussion to analyze the current geopolitical and economic landscape: (1)*   Gordon Chang, Columnist and co-host *   Peter Huessy, President of Geostrategic Analysis and Fellow at the National Institute for Deterrent Studies *   Alan Tonelson, Manufacturing and trade expert who blogs at *Reality Check* *   Rebecca Grant, Vice President of the Lexington Institute (2)### Summary of Geopolitical Instability and Global Consequences (3)Global Economic "Tsunami" and Resource Shortages The potential closure or instability of the Strait of Hormuz poses a threat far beyond the price of oil, described by participants as a looming economic "tsunami". Critical shortages are building for products like fertilizer (urea), sulfur, and petroleum products used in high-end manufacturing. Sulfur is particularly vital as it is required to process the copper used in semiconductors and high-end electronics. While the U.S. may be self-sufficient in fertilizer, the heavy technology-dependent economies of East Asia, including Taiwan, face significant risks to their semiconductor production if these supply chains are severed. Recent reports indicate this threat is immediate, with three cargo ships, including a bulk carrier from Bangkok, recently hit by projectiles in the Strait. (4)China as a Hostile Trade Partner and Provocateur China is characterized as a "hostile trade partner" and an "enemy combatant" that wages proxy wars through Russia in Ukraine and Iran in the Middle East. Experts note that Iran's military capabilities are heavily supported by China, which provides supersonic missiles and the semiconductors found in Iranian drones. Furthermore, Iran's nuclear program is described as a subset of the North Korean program, which was historically promoted by China to keep the U.S. pinned down. Domestically, China continues to ignore promises to stop the flow of fentanyl precursors, with participants noting that leader Xi Jinping has now "dishonored" four such promises to U.S. presidents. (5)U.S. Navy Operational Limits The U.S. Navy is currently facing significant strain, described as being "tightly squeezed" regarding its aircraft carrier fleet. The USS Gerald R. Ford has seen its deployment extended to 11 months, performing continuous combat operations in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Similarly, the USS Nimitz, which was scheduled for decommissioning, has had its service extended to participate in Southern Command exercises. Although these carriers possess "layered defense" systems capable of neutralizing Chinese supersonic missiles and drones, the Navy lacks a sufficient number of ships to maintain these global commitments indefinitely; while law requires 11 carriers, experts argue the current global challenge requires 15. (6)The "Brothers of Mayhem" Alliance The participants argue that China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea act as a coordinated group of "brothers of mayhem". This alliance is not merely fighting over territory or reputation but is engaged in a fundamental contest over "what kind of world we're going to live in". While the West seeks to maintain the status quo and open trade routes, this opposing bloc utilizes economic warfare, proxy conflicts, and the threat of nuclear escalation—such as China's hinted "first-strike" nuclear posture—to challenge Western hegemony. When they arrived, they were ushered up to his bedroom. As they entered the room, the preacher held out his hands and motioned for them to sit on each side of the bed. The preacher grasped their hands, sighed contentedly, smiled, and stared at the ceiling. For a time, no one said anything. Both the banker and lawyer were touched and flattered that the preacher would ask them to be with him during his final moments. They were also puzzled; the preacher had never given them any indication that he particularly liked either of them. They both remembered his many long, uncomfortable sermons about greed, covetousness, and avaricious behaviour that made them squirm in their seats. Finally, the banker said, "Preacher, why did you ask us to come?" The old preacher mustered up his strength and then said weakly, "Jesus died between two thieves, and that's how I want to go."   On this day in History: 1894 - Coca-Cola sold in glass bottles for the first time   Bible Verse ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭32‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ “When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, “Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” So Aaron said to them, “Take off the rings of gold that are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.” So all the people took off the rings of gold that were in their ears and brought them to Aaron. And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf. And they said, “These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!” When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow shall be a feast to the Lord.” And they rose up early the next day and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings. And the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭32‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬   Main Topic Waiting on the Lord   Show Sponsor: Patriot Patch   How you can help out the show: Patches and Stickers Using the following links help support our show. Improving fleet availability isn't just about working faster—it's about understanding why assets are down in the first place. In this episode, Marc Canton sits down with Andrew Finch, Fleet Management Analyst at RTA Fleet, to unpack one of the most underutilized tools inside a fleet management system: asset statuses and work order statuses. Andrew explains the critical difference between the two, why a single “in the shop” status doesn't provide meaningful insight, and how better status design can uncover real bottlenecks—whether that's waiting on parts, waiting on vendors, waiting on approvals, or even waiting on operators to pick up completed units. They also discuss common mistakes fleets make when setting up statuses, including overlap, over-complication, lack of technician buy-in, and tracking data without a clear purpose. The conversation shifts from theory to practical strategy: how to build a status structure that drives clarity, improves communication across departments, and helps leaders defend staffing, budget, and process decisions with real data. If you want to move from guessing at downtime to managing it strategically, this episode gives you a framework to start. Key Takeaways Asset status and work order status are not the same thing. Asset status answers “Where is the unit in its lifecycle?” while work order status answers “What stage is this repair in?”   “In the shop” is not a diagnosis. Without more granular statuses, you can't identify true bottlenecks.   Availability improves when bottlenecks are visible. Waiting on parts, vendors, approvals, or pickup can all look identical unless tracked properly.   Statuses should have a purpose. If you can't explain what decision a status supports, you probably don't need it.   Avoid overlap and ambiguity. Each status should be clearly defined and mutually exclusive.   Technician buy-in is critical. If statuses feel like “big brother,” data quality will suffer. If they feel useful, adoption improves.   Data supports leadership conversations. Clean status data helps justify staffing, process changes, and budget requests with evidence instead of anecdotes.   Start simple and refine. You don't need dozens of statuses—just the right ones that align with operational goals.   Marc Canton Marc Canton is the Vice President of Product and Consulting at RTA Fleet and the host of the Fleet Success Show, a podcast focused on helping fleet organizations improve performance, efficiency, and leadership. With deep experience in fleet operations, technology, and consulting, Marc works closely with public and private fleets to improve data management, operational processes, and asset availability. Marc is a recognized voice in the fleet industry and frequently speaks about topics such as fleet performance metrics, operational efficiency, and the strategic use of fleet management information systems (FMIS). Through his consulting work and educational content, he helps fleet leaders translate data into actionable insights that improve reliability, stakeholder satisfaction, and organizational outcomes. Andrew Finch  Andrew Finch is a Fleet Management Analyst at RTA Fleet, where he specializes in fleet analytics, operational data strategy, and performance measurement. In his role, Andrew works with fleet organizations to interpret data from fleet management systems and uncover insights that improve availability, efficiency, and decision-making. Andrew entered the fleet industry early in his career and quickly developed expertise in fleet analytics, including CAFM training and professional development through industry organizations such as NAFA. His work focuses on helping fleets better structure their data, particularly through effective asset and work-order status tracking, to identify operational bottlenecks and improve maintenance workflows. In an era of deepening polarization, Sari Hanafi examines how social scientists often reproduce the very injustices they seek to challenge, taking entrenched positions while dismissing alternative perspectives. He introduces the concept of symbolic liberalism - a contradiction in which individuals espouse classical liberal principles, yet act in politically illiberal ways. This, he argues, has exacerbated the pathologies of late modernity: authoritarianism, economic precarity, and environmental destruction, now all unfolding in a climate where reasonable debate seems increasingly impossible. Examining key flashpoints of contemporary polarization, Hanafi critiques how symbolic liberalism inflates the universality of rights while simultaneously narrowing the space for dialogue. Rather than this rigid ideological stance, he calls for a dialogical turn, a renewed public sphere where diverse conceptions of the ‘common good' engage in genuine conversation. Blending political and moral philosophy with sociological critique, Hanafi offers a path forward in an age when intellectual exchange is more necessary, yet also more imperilled, than ever. Against Symbolic Liberalism: A Plea for Dialogical Sociology (Liverpool UP, 2025) is not just a critique of polarization but a critical and impassioned call to reclaim meaningful intellectual discourse. Sari Hanafi is a Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center for Arab and Middle Eastern Studies at the American University of Beirut. He served as President of the International Sociological Association (2018–23) and Vice President of the Arab Council for Social Sciences (2015–16). An International Fellow of the British Academy, he was also the Editor of Idafat: The Arab Journal of Sociology (2007–22). His contributions to the field have been recognized with some of the Arab world's most prestigious academic awards, including the Abdelhamid Shouman Award (2014) and the Kuwait Award for Social Science (2015). In 2019, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the National University of San Marcos, Peru. Morteza Hajizadeh is a Ph.D. graduate in English from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. US bureau chief Jacob Magid joins host Jessica Steinberg for today's episode. During a briefing and in a one-on-one phone interview with Magid, US President Donald Trump discusses a possible timeframe for ending the war with Iran, a decision he says will be made with Israel. The US leader notes that if the regime harms oil exports, he will strike Iran harder than before. Magid notes that Trump is not happy with the choice of the new Iranian leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, but isn't discussing his removal, unlike Israel, which has not ruled out his assassination. He also discusses whether Trump is betraying anti-regime protestors by not creating a government that will support them. There appears to be some behind-the-scenes discomfort with the war against Iran from Vice President JD Vance, reports Magid, although the Vice President has been publicly supportive of the continued operation.
