In this season, follow Magnetize Your Twin Flame®️student, Joe, as he works with Elle to navigate his journey by learning the truth about twin flames and implementing the process taught in the coaching program to align and balance his energy and ultimately magnetize his twin flame. In this episode Joe learns more about his fear-based energy.  Elle teaches how this sneaky energy works and helps him understand the effect it has on how he feels, his thoughts, his beliefs, and how it feeds, and offers guidance in how to effectively implement what he's learned in the process so far to identify his fear-based energy and stop it from feeding. Quotes: "Everything that we do, we say, we think, we feel is all fear-based energy.  And that energy is the push energy that's pushing toward her, and she is your pull and she pulls away at the same time.  So, every time we indulge or placate or give in to that energy, that urge, that feeds the energy so it builds up stronger, so it pushes out even stronger.  So, it doesn't matter whether you actually reach out to her, or you talk to her, it's all about within you if you're feeding that energy.  So, even just to check to see if she's online feeds that energy and builds it up even stronger to push out towards her and she feels it no matter what, whether she's right next to you, whether she's talking to you, whether she's half way around the world, she feels it, it's her energy too."  (6:49-7:39) "When you stop doing those things, and when you start really seeing them, and you start shrinking your fear-based energy, what it's going to do is that it's going to try to find sneaky ways that are more subtle that it's connecting things to her.  We call these backdoor feeds."  (14:16-14:32) "The more that you move through this process and the more you, we call it "balance" your fear-based energy, which makes it smaller, the sneakier it is because it's not so big in your face.  You're not really in it anymore, you're seeing it from the observer perspective and it just gets smaller and smaller.  But then it gets sneakier and sneakier, so that's why coaching is so important on this journey."  (19:55 - 20:18) "So, right now you're push energy, she's pull energy of your soul, of your one soul which is an energetic field.  Your push particles in the energetic field, she's pull.  So, that's polarized.  That's what we call polarized like a battery, there's a plus like a positive and negative.  What we're doing is every time that you "balance" we call it, but every time that you become the observer of your fear-based energy, and you'll learn more about doing that in the next coming up modules, the more you do that, that stops the push because it neutralizes it.  The neutrality of that is love.  It takes your fear-based energy and it transmutes it into love energy, and that's forever."  (32:36 - 33:22)   If you're ready to take charge of your twin flame journey and receive the same guidance and support as Joe, schedule a call with one of our coaches and start becoming irresistible to your twin flame today: https://bewithyourtwinflame.org/clarity-consultation/

[00:31:46] Introduction to Elizabeth's practical book on building a luxury business.   Key Takeaways:  Luxury isn't just about high prices; it's about value, quality, exclusivity and the unique mindset of the business owner. True luxury brands stand out because they think differently and aren't afraid to redefine the industry. Many women consultants undervalue their expertise. Selling high-ticket or luxury services requires a shift in mindset to understand your value and price higher to attract serious clients who respect your time and expertise. Selling high-ticket consulting services requires building trust, credibility and connection. Focus on relationship building, such as networking in niche spaces and leveraging referrals, to connect with potential clients in a meaningful way. When people spend a lot of money, they pay attention because they want to get their money's worth, and they don't waste your time. If it's cheap, that's when people keep coming back, asking for extras, and doubting the value of your work.   Quotes:  “Everything expensive is not necessarily luxury, but everything luxury will be expensive because of the way it's produced.” – Elizabeth Solaru “Seeing things differently is so valuable. And I think women underestimate that, because it's second nature to you, you think the common sense that you have, what you do, is not valued or not valuable, but things become valuable when you put a premium on what you charge. Because like I said, you're charging for your time, your energy, even your aura, because there are people that walk into a room and people feel uplifted, they feel there's possibilities, they feel they can do anything. Not many people can inspire that.” - Elizabeth Solaru “Women will look at a job, a CEO job, and think, 'I only meet eight out of ten of the requirements, therefore I won't apply.' Men will look at the same job and if they can only do three things, say 'I'm going to give it a go. I'm going to apply.'” – Elizabeth Solaru “Something that I've seen consistently in the ten years of my business is that when we're not charging enough, we don't find clients who respect us. We don't find clients who particularly want to do the work. And although it can feel counterintuitive and like you're going to price yourself out of the market, actually, it's better if you want to do deep consulting work.” – Jessica Fearnley “You need to find an organization in pain, an organization that has stepped on a nail or something, and they need to fix it now. And in fact, the quicker you fix it, the more they'll pay you.” – Elizabeth Solaru   Useful Links Elizabeth:  The Luxpreneur: How to Start and Build a Successful Luxury Brand Elizabeth's website - luxurybusinessemporium.com Elizabeth's LinkedIn Jessica: Get in touch with Jessica to discuss your consulting business Leave a rating and review for the Seven Figure Consultant Podcast Jessica's LinkedIn   Guest Bio Elizabeth Solaru is a multi award-winning luxury business consultant, author, and world renowned cake artist. Success won't fix what you think it will—and Wil Schroter, founder of Startups.com, explains why so many entrepreneurs hit major milestones only to feel more lost than ever.   Wil has built, sold, and acquired multiple companies, yet he's seen countless entrepreneurs hit their biggest milestones only to feel more lost than ever. He sits down with Alex Raymond to talk about why financial wins don't fix deeper struggles and how chasing an exit can leave founders grappling with purpose, identity, and unexpected disappointment.     Wil shares what he's learned from working with thousands of entrepreneurs—why they conflate success with happiness, why scaling too fast can backfire, and how to build something sustainable without losing yourself in the process. He also gets personal, talking about the non-negotiables that keep his life in balance.     If you're constantly pushing toward “someday,” this episode might change how you define real success.   Quotes “Everything we thought was going to get cured, doesn't change at all. In fact, it actually gets worse. Now, when people hear that, they're like, ‘Oh, I'm so sorry that you made a million dollars. I'm so sorry your life is worse.' It's not that easy. Yes, it's improved safety, but it hasn't changed purpose.” (09:16 | Wil Schroter)  “The value of anything is the fact that you don't have it. And once you get it, once you get that success, you realize that it didn't change any of the things you were expecting it to. And it's really depressing, which is ironic.” (11:55 | Wil Schroter)  “If you are unhappy on a canoe, you're not gonna be happy on a yacht. You're the same person just on a more expensive boat.” (14:13 | Wil Schroter)  “It feels very lonely, and that is kind of the worst part about the founder journey. It is incredibly alienating. That's something that we've tried to kind of unpack for a very long time—to tell founders we're in the business of showing you you're not alone.” (26:32 | Wil Schroter)   Links Connect with Wil Schroter: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/wilschroter/ Website: https://www.startups.com/   Connect with Alex Raymond: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/afraymond/ Website: https://amplifyam.com/   HiveCast.fm is a proud sponsor of The Conscious Entrepreneur Podcast. Growing In God with Gary Hargrave
GIG220 Know the Love God Has for Us

Growing In God with Gary Hargrave

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 30, 2024 29:10

Web Description: In this day it is essential that we know and believe the love God has for us, as we read in 1 John 4:16. Otherwise, we become overwhelmed by the increasing lawlessness in the world, and we find our love growing cold. The Kingdom is God's love. And we can only minister His love to others when we know His love for us personally.   Show Notes: Yeshua (Jesus) said, “Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold.” Already we see this happening with people as they react to the increasing lawlessness around them. The fact is that we are affected by the spirit realm. And as we watch all the negativity happening in the world, we have to take care that we are not drawn into the same spirit.   Yeshua directly tied the increase in lawlessness to people losing their love. Satan knows this and brings all the lawlessness and wickedness because they generate a force in direct opposition to what Christ is trying to impart to us, which is His mind that has the capacity to know the love of God. As His Son, Yeshua knew the love the Father had for Him, and He came to impart the knowledge of that love to us as individuals.   We need to come into the knowledge of the Father's love for us because Christ is sending us into the world for the same purpose that He came. It is not to do signs and wonders. It is not to perform healings. It is not to speak living words. It is to impart the love of the Father into the lives of people. But you cannot impart what you do not have. The greatest preparation you can do right now to carry out the will of God in the earth is to become aware of His love for you personally.   Key Verses:   •       Matthew 24:12–14. “Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold.” •       1 John 4:7–13. “The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” •       1 John 4:14–16. “We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us.” •       Ephesians 3:16–19. “Know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge.” •       1 Corinthians 2:16. “We have the mind of Christ.” •       Romans 12:2. “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” •       John 15:9–13. “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.” •       John 17:24–26. “The love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”   Quotes:   •       “Everything that's going to happen in the bringing forth of the Kingdom between now and the manifestation of it in the earth is born out of love.” •       “The spirits that are taking over this age right now have a purpose. And that is to block the knowledge of love. It is to remove love from the hearts of humanity.” •       “If we can come to know this love that God has for us individually, we can be filled up to the fullness of Him, to the fullness of that love.”   Takeaways:   1.    When we see everything happening in the earth, our immediate tendency is to be caught up in the negative. But it is not for us to relate to what is going on from a negative perspective. It is simply a matter of shifting our focus and awareness to God's presence. 2.    Yeshua had the awareness of God's love for Him personally, and He functioned out of the knowledge and the understanding of that love. And Christ came to bring the knowledge of that love to us as individuals. 3.    Why is satan bringing all this lawlessness and wickedness and this increase of evil? Because if he does that, then the love of people grows cold. The wickedness is in direct opposition to what Christ is trying to impart to us, which is His mind that has the capacity to know the love of God. 4.    As humans we struggle with knowing the love that God has for us. That is why we need this impartation of the mind of Christ that is beyond human knowledge or human ability to understand.

Do you know the difference between a plan and a strategy? To reach your business goals, you need both. Today's guest shares a new approach to growth strategy. As the Founder and CEO of Demand Metric, Jesse Hopps has spent the last 18 years working with senior executives at many of the world's largest organizations to accelerate revenue growth with focused problem-solving. He's on a mission to help 500 clients earn $500K+/year in semi-retirement doing growth strategy work. He is disrupting what he calls the broken growth model of the Strategy Consulting industry, which is largely controlled by Ivy League firms that are being increasingly questioned about the effectiveness and value of their services. Demand Metric has served over 8,000 clients including Microsoft, Salesforce, Apple, Amazon, Fidelity Investments, US Bank, Verizon, and many more!  Building a Marketing Membership Jesse and his partners grew a community of over 250,000 marketing professionals through SEO content marketing and email. Their goal was to provide a productized version of consulting through research-based, customizable tools. Today they have over 670 templates, including everything from case studies to marketing plan presentations, job descriptions, and CRM assessments.  A major turning point for the company came when they started content licensing with large organizations, first the American Marketing Association (AMA) and later the Association of International Product Managers & Marketers (AIPMM). Those partnerships put Demand Metric on the map as a credible brand and industry leader. Soon enough, more organizations began to reach out for research reports and custom content. Plan vs. Strategy Jesse's mission is to disrupt the consulting industry by providing more value to the client. His approach is based on the book Good Strategy, Bad Strategy by Richard Rumelt, which focuses on challenges over goals. Most business leaders base their strategy on goals: they want to reach a certain revenue number and they have a plan to achieve that goal. But you need a strategy to overcome any potential obstacles on the path to that goal. The first step is to get all the issues on the table that might prevent you from achieving your vision. Then, figure out which problems you need to solve to make achieving your goal inevitable.  Enjoy this episode with founder Jesse Hopps… Soundbytes 12:46-13:20 “They taught me that if you've got emails and people that are engaged and a good audience, you can monetize this. I had no idea, that wasn't what we set out to do in our business. It was always a subscription model, working with these associations. I said, ‘What do people pay for that kind of thing?' They said, ‘We'll give you $5,000 if you send this email out. I said that's probably the easiest $5,000 I've ever made in my life.”  24:13-24:39 “Anyone who's been in consulting knows it can be very lonely if you're an entrepreneur or solopreneur. So having a group of others, going through building their business, bouncing ideas off of them…We've built online communities before. It's hard to get them really active and a great culture in a community, but this one kind of just took off on its own. I think mainly because there was a common purpose and vision for the group.” 31:03-31:24 “The art of strategy isn't so much about setting big goals and then creating a bunch of disconnected initiatives around hopefully all these things added up will equal us hitting the goal. It's about getting all the issues of why you maybe won't hit that goal on the table and figuring out what would need to be true, what would need to be solved, in order to make achieving that goal inevitable.” Quotes “Everything we've built has been based on request.”  “We take theory and turn it into simple, practical tools that are flexible and customizable.” “There was an alternative way to deliver value to a big company that the big consulting don't really do. The client taught me that there's a lot of value in having someone work alongside of them and their team as a coach.” “I want to disrupt the traditional consulting paradigm. I think the McKinseys of the world have been charging a lot of money for nice-looking plans, but a lot of them fail to get executed.”  “The art of strategy isn't so much about setting big goals… It's about getting all the issues of why you maybe won't hit that goal on the table.” Links mentioned in this episode: Demand Metric website: http://www.demandmetric.com  Connect with Jesse on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jessehopps  Connect with Jesse on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jessehopps/

Get Organized for Good with Corinne Morahan: Maximize Your Productivity, Cultivate Purposeful Habits and Have More Fun!

“Let's just put this out there: we all buy too much—myself included,” host Corinne Morahan admits on today's episode of Get Organized for Good. For many of us, shopping is truly a kind of therapy, a way to alleviate stress. The problem? That relief is temporary and leads to a host of extra problems—clutter, stress, guilt, to-dos, and even debt. Luckily, we have the power to reframe our attitude toward shopping, and Corinne is here to help us do just that. By learning what, where, when and, most importantly, why you shop, you may find that by the end of this episode, your joy of shopping doesn't hold the same power over you.    As with all of Corinne's exercises, there is no room for judgment here. We all live in a culture devoted to consumption, ease and convenience, and everyone suffers from over-shopping in one way or another. To show that you are not alone, Corinne reads some of the most common shopping scenarios shared by her Instagram community, including the trap of bargain hunting, being trigger happy and the negative cycle of buying cheap.   Quotes “Everything in our life works as a system: how we shop, how we keep our houses, how we show up, how we feel about ourselves—it's all so interrelated. And I want to bring attention and awareness to your shopping habits so you can love what you own and you can love your life again.” (4:27 | Corinne Morahan) “I've seen all of this. I've seen people who love everything they buy and use it all. I've seen people who love shopping and then the adrenaline wears off and they decide to return everything. And then there are people who buy, buy, buy, don't actually love any of it, it sits in their house unused. We've had clients where we'll go through their closets, and we'll purge thousands and thousands of dollars worth of clothing that still has its tags on it.” (9:13 | Corinne Morahan) “I want you to think about the joy of delayed gratification, not the punishment of it. It's like an orgasm: the longer it builds over time, the better it is. Same thing with buying something that we really want.” (15:43 | Corinne Morahan) “Doing this can actually bring back your love of shopping, or, what I've seen for a lot of people who are in my membership, is it makes you realize that shopping doesn't have the allure that you thought it did, that consumption doesn't have that allure. Having things no longer feels exciting because what feels exciting is living in a house with breathing room. Living in a house where you know where everything is, living in a house where you don't have too many things. For most of us we find a middle ground.” (17:54 | Corinne Morahan)   Links   Connect With Corinne: https://www.gridandglam.com/ https://www.corinnemorahan.com/ https://www.instagram.com/gridandglam/ https://www.instagram.com/corinnemorahan/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/corinnemorahan/ https://www.facebook.com/gridandglam https://www.youtube.com/@gridandglam1 Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Are you tired of the adversarial relationship between entrepreneurs and investors? Matt McCall, a seasoned VC with 28 years of experience, offers a refreshing perspective on the traditional relationship dynamics we've come to expect. In this episode, Matt shares his unique approach to investing, where he not only provides funding but also coaching to help entrepreneurs thrive. He believes that the key to success lies in focusing on the human aspect of business, elevating entrepreneurs to be their best selves. By investing in personal growth and fostering authentic relationships, Matt has seen firsthand how this approach leads to greater resilience and success. Discover how Matt challenges the traditional VC model and why he believes that investing in the well-being of entrepreneurs is a competitive advantage.   Key Takeaways: The relationship between entrepreneurs and investors doesn't have to be adversarial; it can be a partnership where both parties work together for success. Investing in personal growth and well-being supports the achievement of results in business. VCs can act as guides and safe harbors for entrepreneurs, providing support and resources to help them thrive. The concept of the Aristotelian ethic, focusing on curiosity, discipline, courage, and love, can lead to a more fulfilling and successful entrepreneurial journey. Taking care of one's well-being and addressing internal issues, such as unsaid conversations and energy drains, is crucial for long-term success and avoiding burnout.   Quotes: "Everything that I would do as a traditional coach, I do as a VC, but I do it from the perspective of making them the highest version of themselves so we can have the best success with the company." (13:58 | Matt)  "What launched this whole thing is we interviewed,10 years ago, a hundred entrepreneurs and said, 'How do you want your VC to show up to be most helpful?" And number one, by far, they said, I don't trust any of you guys. But if I could trust you, it was who can be there on a Sunday night when the demons are running through my head." (31:56 | Matt)  "The way that I'm thinking about it is, you know, we're putting all these demands on an entrepreneur and he or she's got 30%, they're at 30% of their capacity because 70% of it is blocked by something else. And so the work of becoming more aware, doing personal work, becoming more mindful, learning to meditate, learning tools and frameworks for communication, and so on. Those are about increasing the amount of available energy that I have to do the things that I love. And if I'm not focused on it, then I'm just burning myself down, and that's what leads to burnout, collapse, companies going poof." Health challenges can be a big obstacle to face. They can make us feel depressed, frustrated, hopeless, and angry. And all those feelings are valid. After all, many of us take our health and bodies for granted. We move through life with easy, almost careless steps… until we don't anymore. Many of us in the I Heart My Life community have faced a situation like this. And we've come out of it stronger and wiser. Someone who knows this better than anyone is today's guest on the podcast, the brilliant Victoria Fenton. When Victoria was seventeen, she became unwell (or as she says, “violently sick on holidays,” which definitely describes what she went through much better). That one night when she was sick changed the course of her life forever. Because of that one night, she discovered Human Design and Gene Keys, dove deep into personal development, and became the amazing human being she is today. Tune in to this episode and listen as Victoria and I discuss a loooot of interesting stuff, from Human Design to moving through trauma and health challenges to Gene Keys and everything in between. Are you ready? Because I know I am. All right, let's dive in!   In This Episode:  [00:00] Introduction [00:56] Victoria shares her personal and professional journey with us [05:13] How Victoria stayed on her path and decided not to give up [09:24] Victoria shares with us her insights about trauma, trauma patterns, and health consequences [15:38] Victoria on nervous system repatterning [22:50] Time to discover the different types within Human Design [35:19] How do you know what cycle you're in? [36:51] Let's talk about Gene Keys! [40:43] Are you Victoria's ideal client? Find out now! Quotes: “Everything that I do includes all of my health stuff, all of the biohacking stuff, all of the coaching work that I do and the trauma resolution work that I do, essentially trying to allow people to really take up all of their space in the world. That's what I do for people.” – Victoria Fenton “I studied functional medicine, naturopathy, nutrition, and lots of specialisms within those areas just trying to find my own answers, and ended up having to qualify myself because I couldn't find a doctor or a professional who'd worked with my conditions before. And so with all of that, I ended up setting up my own functional medicine and nutrition practice in London” – Victoria Fenton  “I have a very close relationship with my mom. And I really believe very strongly that I would not have gotten through this without her undying support.” – Victoria Fenton “I feel like there is a deep privilege in having to struggle, because I learned so much about myself, but also, I developed so much resilience that I would never have had. And I learned so much that I can now help other people with.” – Victoria Fenton “It really is important to understand that everything about our body runs on our nervous system. And the nervous system is the information or architectural highway that communicates how to run all of the processes. There's so much going on physiologically on a second by second basis that has to have communication on board for the body to be able to function. And most of it should be automatic.” – Victoria Fenton   Links & Resources:  Ready to Uplevel Your Life? Mike shares his Experience, Strength and Hope, bravely setting aside his speech impediment in order to share with the newcomer what a decade in sobriety looks like. Born and raised in Boston, in a family of 10 children, Mike had a lot of freedom to roam and party. At 18 he joined the military where he really learned about life, hard work and having a good time. Faster forward and you'll see Mike with a good job, home, wife, and children, but find him unbelievably angry and depressed.  On one particularly miserable weekend, Mike was desperate enough to finally ask for help; he picked up the phone, said he was ready, and attended his first meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. By following his sponsor's suggestions and working the steps, Mike's obsession to drink was removed, along with all the sadness. Today Mike is a happy, joyous and free man, husband, father and active member of AA. Quotes“Everything they recommended, that's exactly what I did; I dove into it. Because when I was drinking, I was trapped, and I had to get out of the trap, and the only way I knew how was to dive into this thing which they called recovery.”“There's nothing that I'm going to hear that's gonna make me consider taking a drink.”“There is hope and there is help, and there is healing, I know that now.”

Tricia Schwechel has always been an entrepreneur. After her father passed away, she took over her family's child care center and eventually turned it into a crafting retreat house and Airbnb. Although it hasn't been easy, her business, Cornerstone Crossing Retreat and Resort, has continued to grow despite the naysayers.  By the time Cornerstone Crossing Retreat and Resort was ready to open, the pandemic had begun across the globe. Although many people doubted the concept of a crafting retreat house, Tricia still believed in her vision and sought solutions. After turning the house into an Airbnb, Cornerstone became a haven for small groups, proving that creative spaces for the community are a recipe for success. Tune into this week's episode of Move Forward Anyway for an inspiring conversation with Tricia Schwechel on believing in your vision. Learn how Trica started her crafting retreat house, relied on her community during COVID, and maintained her faith despite the roadblocks.   Quotes • “Everything was just coming into the right place at the right time. And again, just giving more and more confirmation that this is a possibility.” (10:05 - 10:13) • “I would say at that point, it was just a matter of having faith. Having faith that, let's try this, what's the worst that can happen? Let's pursue this dream.” (11:04 - 11:14) • “I felt like it was such a huge blessing that we were in a small community because I felt like this, not that the big communities didn't care, but it was a smaller community. They were helping out the small businesses so that people didn't fold.” (15:26 - 15:39) • “I truly believe that I'm just bringing people together and community. At this point, I feel like there's a lot of people that don't have that community or that need that community, and this is a beautiful place to do it.” (18:18 - 18:29)  • “It's really important to keep in mind our “who.” Who is this for? How will they benefit?” (24:50 - 24:56) • “The dream wasn't given by a committee. I read that yesterday in a post somewhere. And literally in your story, Cornerstone was given to you. It was given to you as a gift, and it's been entrusted to you. So you're stewarding it.” (30:49 - 31:06)   Links Get in touch with Tricia Schwechel: Website | https://www.cornerstonecrossingretreatandresort.com/  Facebook | https://www.facebook.com/Cornerstone-Crossing-Retreat-and-Resort-111106530329658  Vendor fair on November 6, 2021 | https://www.facebook.com/111106530329658/videos/451981342946190    Cornerstone Crossing Retreat & Resort 936 Metalcraft Drive Mayville, WI 53050 Email | cornerstonecrossingrandr@gmail.com Phone |  262-707-4045   Get in touch with host Jeff Meyer: • www.jeffmeyer.org • Schedule a Discovery Call with Jeff: https://go.oncehub.com/DreamAcceleratorDiscoveryCall   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Laura Stack's 19-year-old son, Johnny, died by suicide on November 20, 2019 from paranoid delusion from using high-THC marijuana concentrates. Soon afterward, Laura started a 501c3, Johnny's Ambassadors, to educate parents and teens about the dangers of today's high-THC marijuana on adolescent brain development, mental illness, and suicide. In this session, Laura will share the story of Johnny's marijuana addiction from a parent's point of view, a poignant chronicle of the shocking descent from innocence to eventual suicide. Before marijuana, Johnny was a computer whiz with a 4.0 GPA and a perfect math score on the SAT. After marijuana, he stole his family dog from the home and threatened to kill it without payment from his mother. With moving candor, Laura traces the first warning signs, their attempts at rehabilitation, her desperation, and his eventual demise. Three days before his death, Johnny issued his own warning about marijuana usage. Through this tragic, transparent tale, Stack hopes to use her pain to help parents talk to their children about the dangers of today's marijuana.   Key Takeaways About Laura and how she lost her son to suicide.  If it can happen to Laura's happy family, it can happen to anyone.  Laura believes if marijuana wasn't around, she'd still have her son.  When Laura first found out about Johnny's drug use, what did she do?  Why is marijuana so addicting? Isn't it safe for use?  Laura talks about the difference between marijuana and alcohol.  Laura wants to stress that this is not the same drug we used when we were kids in the 70s or 80s. There's a new breed of strong and more addictive weed out there.  How do you deter your children from using drugs? You have to teach your children boundary-setting skills.  Laura thinks it's important to set clear boundaries in the household and to not be afraid to drug test your children.  Marijuana is harmless? Think again. As a parent, you must speak up against this false messaging.  What are some of the behavioral changes you should be on the lookout for?  Marijuana is destroying teen's futures. It is making permanent changes to their brains.  We have to protect our children in the end.  Sponsored by Stand Up for Your Greatness! Edgerety.com/education Resources Johnnysambassadors.org   Quotes:   “Everything we did, we still couldn't keep him from using the marijuana and sadly, he took his life at 19 years old. You just look at this and you think, how can this happen?”   “We didn't understand how potent marijuana is, how addicting it can be, and how it can cause mental illness. All of this was new to us.”   “We tried tough love, taking his phone, taking his car, therapy. Once he turned 18, it was impossible. There's no way to help your child when they are a mentally ill adult.”

Stepping into trust with the Universe will help align you to your highest soul path. If you’re not trusting, you’re disconnected from yourself, your intuition, and your soul path. This is how I learned to trust the Universe implicitly. About Trusting the Universe & Your Highest Soul Path You know those little nudges you feel, your gut telling you something, or even your guides directly communicating with you? If you’re not trusting them, you’re hindering your relationship with yourself. You’re also sending out signals that you’re not ready to receive this guidance. You need to build a relationship with yourself and your intuition. It exists for a reason, but it’s up to you to cultivate it. This connection exists to help you trust the Universe. To help you trust your guides. If you’re worried that these messages feel too big or too expansive, and you’re worried that you would never have the capability to actually accomplish it - I want you to know that your guides would not give you a mission you weren’t capable of achieving. Take the action the Universe wants you to take. No matter how big it is, if the next step is revealed to you - trust and move forward. If you don’t listen, life will get hard. Life might feel like a struggle until one day you realise that you absolutely have to take action. You get to the point where it’s harder to be inactive instead of moving forward in trust. And lovely, you don’t have to have it all figured out. Move and trust into that next step. You’ll be guided to the next right step for you. Ask yourself what your intuition is guiding you to next. If you had no fear and knew you were fully supported, would you be able to trust that guidance and move with it? Let me know in the comments, lovely! In This Episode How a lack of trust in the Universe hinders you from forming a relationship with yourself [5:30] Why you need to build a relationship with yourself and your intuition [6:00] How to take action on the path the Universe wants you to take [6:30] What happens when you don’t listen to the shifts you’re called to make [15:30] Why you don’t have to have it all figured out in order to move forward [21:00] Quotes “Everything in this Universe is a direct mirror of something that is going on inside of you. So if you are unable to fully trust in the Universe, if you are unable to fully trust in the guidance you receive, what you’re really saying is that you don’t trust in yourself.” [1:55] “It’s alright receiving the guidance, but if you don’t trust and move, then you’re still not building this trusting relationship with yourself. You’re still not building a trusting relationship with your intuition. You’re still not living in the deepest integrity to your soul and yourself which is trying to lead the way for you.” [11:33] “This is the beautiful thing about a soul path. We think that we’re not equipped to live out some of the desires that we see in our mind’s eye. Sometimes we see a vision that we think is really big, that we didn’t ever see ourselves doing. The truth is: yeah. Your soul is equipped or you wouldn’t have been gifted that vision. Your job is to trust and move.” [22:22] Resources Mentioned Join The Soul Savvy Collective Facebook Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/soulsavvytribe) Find Sarah Flynn Online (https://sarahjflynn.com/) Follow Sarah Flynn on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/sarahxflynn/) | Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/sarahflynncoaching) | YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1vmQ8rg-xfhHBLvqJ8qzcA) If you liked this episode, please check out some others: Episode 40: Quantum Moves & Island Vibes (https://sarahjflynn.com/episode-40-quantum-moves-island-vibes/) Episode 35: Choosing the Highest Possible Timeline (https://sarahjflynn.com/episode-35-choosing-the-highest-possible-timeline/) Episode 38: How to Get More of What You Want (https://sarahjflynn.com/episode-38-how-to-get-more-of-what-you-want/)

Hannah Galliers has navigated through her journey with Borderline Personality Disorder, known in the United Kingdom as Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD). Although Hannah's official diagnosis with BPD was recent, she has been on a healing journey through meditation and mindfulness practices and other therapies for several years. As with many people with BPD, she grew up in a broken environment where she was not allowed to process emotion. In college, she faced recovery from sexual assault, and shortly after, one of her best friends passed away. The realization that the path she was walking might lead to her death, pushed her to seek support for her mental health. It has taken years for Hannah to finally receive the official diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder. Her upbeat demeanor and lack of skills to recognize and communicate her feelings kept the depth of her struggle from being recognized by both herself and the professionals she interacted with. Finally, when she got in to see a psychiatrist about a possible ADHD diagnosis, that doctor redirected her to BPD. Unfortunately, the best-known treatment for this disorder (DBT) is not readily available in England, so Hannah has not yet begun that course. The practices that have served her best in coping with BPD have been placing consistent structure in her day, reflecting on her long-term progress, and keeping her mindset open and positive. Hannah started this journey without a lot of support, but as she has chosen to be open about her struggles and work hard to feel better, she found the love of her life. She and her partner Michael, have a baby and a home and will soon be married. Michael has been very patient with her and been able to recognize when the illness is talking and not his beloved Hannah. Together, they navigated through pregnancy that was made more difficult not only by BPD but also COVID lockdown. Before Michael, she had typical experiences with romantic relationships: the ups and downs, emotional breakups, and instability… but today, there is hope. People like Michael do exist out there, who are willing to communicate, take everything with a grain of salt and a pound of patience, and to keep their loved one with BPD accountable to do what they need to feel better. We talked about me, my journey, having to share positive energy, and many more! Stay tuned and be inspired! REMEMBER - “Everything does happen for a reason, but you have to take action.” This week's tip is all about your bed. First of all, it's really important that you have a strong sturdy bed and that it has a strong headboard. Why is it important to have a headboard on your bed? Well, it represents support for yourself while you're sleeping, but also having support in your life. Having a good mattress is also very important so you can have a good restful night's sleep. So a combination of a strong wooden bed with a good mattress and a firm headboard will make a big difference.  UPDATE!!! I am really excited for these coming weeks that I have prepared for all of you. We’ll have amazing guests to share their journey and inspirational stories. Also, every week, you are going to have access to my recordings from YouTube. And I am also going to do lots of training in my Powerhouse Pop-Up group, if you are not part of this group yet, I highly recommend joining now!   HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT WE COVER DURING THIS EPISODE: A description of Patricia about herself How did Patricia allow herself to grow How to remain vibrant and be filled with energy The start of Patricia’s journey The beginning of Powerhouse Letting go for Patricia   LINKS & RESOURCES:  Feng Shui Your Vision Board   Book recommended by Patricia: The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael A. It's what steps you take after it.”  “Another part of this journey is really appreciating every part of it.” “My vision is though, that you live what you want, that your life reflects what you want.” “I'm just embodying and showing like, this is what we want, you don't have to go after my dreams, you go on your own and allow them to unfold.” “And I think we have to overcome one thing to get to the next, that's all part of it.” “Because if we're not ready, getting everything thrown at us, is not going to be what we need, want or can handle.”

Helena was recently commissioned to work on a global project to tell the story of the Apple. She and her team used groundbreaking technology to create ‘The Crunch Coda', which uses solely the apple's genomic sequence, ATCG, to inform its musical vocabulary. The percussive nature of the apple bite is interpreted through “crunchy” rhythmic piano textures and octave transpositions. Bite samples overlay musical samples to create a satisfyingly energetic artistic experience of the eating of an apple, guaranteed to leave a smile.Helena Cavan was born in Washington State, USA, began writing poetry as a small child and her poem, The Wall, was first published at the age of 12. She immigrated to the UK in 1994 and studied music composition with Michael Finnissy, graduating with a B.Mus, LRAM in 2000 from the Royal Academy of Music. She returned to writing poetry in 2010, setting her poem, Pilgrim's Journey, to music for mezzo-soprano Victoria Kane and the English String Orchestra.Helena is a member of The Winchcombe Poets, which she co-founded with Chris Haslam in 2011. Helena has performed her poetry-inspired-by-music with pianists Marcel Zidani and Janine Smith and launched her first MP3 collection of Concert Poetry recorded with pianist John-Paul Gandy. Poetry commissions to date include Gloucestershire artist, Tony Heath, and Coughton Court, a National Trust property, where her poetry is currently for sale.Helena is passionate about healthy food for body, soul and spirit and loves flowers and topiary. TOPICS:- Frequencies and sound and how the universe is constructed- Revelation in how the Spirit Realm works- Writing words inspired by music- Reading poetry that was inspired from the garden- Putting aside creative work in order to start a new business- Making a sound file of your name by voice, and use a cymascope to create a pattern- Capturing the sound of an apple crunch- Making a pattern with cymascope from apple crunch sound- Apple has 57,368 genes, that is more than twice than in the human genome- Apple World Map with 46 stories from around the world about the apple- Understanding the coloration of an apple- Composition aspect of the apple coda using three notes are A,C, and G to reflect the genomic sequence- Everyone wants energyGOLD NUGGETS:1) 3 way alignment: Internal - Head and heart or intellect and passion. Vertical: alignment with God and his plans for your life and your business, then Horizontal alignment, where you understand the spiritual principles of how the universe works, which includes others, so we work well together.2) It is beautiful to experience a seed dying in order for a new shoot to start growing and springing to life. God has his timing for germination, so the seeds are always there, but it is his fingers on the pulse as to when things germinate and when they are going to sprout and grow.3) We can learn things in life and business that can bring you full circle back to join in with your creative work that may have taken a back seat for a minute.4) It is all about asking the right questions to find the best results. Einstein said, “Give me any problem, I'll spend the first 45 minutes working out the right question to ask, and then I'll spend 15 minutes answering the question.”The question that leads to the discoveries that none of us ever imagined, all start with, I wonder what would happen if ….. !5) You must understand the genome of the apple crunch, then you can create new varieties of apples and make sure that the apple has maximum crunch. This is necessary because we associate the crunchiness to freshness and juiciness of an apple.QUOTES:- Everything not attached to God has to go.- I had an understanding of music from the inside out that opened up a way of feeling and communicating music that was different.- The fullness of myself is full of the allness of God all the time.- We each have our own unique voice print in the universe and our stories have to be told. - My life has 3 areas that have been all present throughout. If you are not familiar with the Risen Motherhood ministry, they exist to encourage, equip, and challenge moms to apply the gospel to their everyday lives. On this episode, we discuss everything from Emily’s amazing fire building skills to how potty training and mountains of laundry will continually point you back to the gospel. Even if you are not in the throws of motherhood, we believe you will find encouragement through this conversation! Quotes: “Everything we have is The Lord’s. It’s all been given by Him; all of our gifts, every skill set, our personality traits, our tendencies. God gives those to His people and if we truly are not our own but we belong to God then every resource, every gift we have, is actually His!” -Laura Wifler “The neat thing about the gospel is that it makes us new and it changes everything about who we are.” -Emily Jensen “God is the one, in Christ who reconciles our responsibility with our inability.” -Emily Jensen “The great news of what God did for us is that He came and He said “I know that you’re not enough, but I’m going to send my son to be enough on your behalf and now before the throne of God, you are made good, you are made righteous, I see you and I see righteousness, I see patience, and kindness, and long suffering because I see Jesus. He covers us in front of God,”” -Laura Wifler “He is for my good and He is for their good, and I can trust Him.” -Emily Jensen “We are not above Christ and what He has done. He came to serve, he came to lay down His life, he came to deal with the dirty, stinky, messy, annoying needs that we all have.” -Emily Jensen “As moms, so much of what we do is unseen, but it does matter and God is refining and molding, and growing us in these days. He’s preparing us for whatever good works He has down the road. These days are not being wasted.” -Laura Wifler Resources: Risen Motherhood Resource Page Risen Motherhood Website *The beautiful music heard on today’s episode is by Katie Cobbs*

Tech companies are creating more and more opportunities for motion designers to work in UX design. Instead of the traditional studio work, this means working with one company on a specific product. But what does it mean to do this work and how is it different from other types of motion design? Sharon Harris is a senior motion designer at Google. As part of the Google design team, Sharon works with the editorial design platform, conducts interviews and podcasts, and arranges the annual design conference, SPAN. Today, Sharon and I speak about how to get into UX motion design and what it’s like working in the tech industry as a motion designer. As tech industries are utilizing motion design as part of the branding, the opportunities for motion designers are growing. As a result, it has become possible to work entirely within the tech industry creating UX/UI products.  Sharon has found that working in tech is incredibly exciting. She is able to come up with many of the ideas for products and be more involved throughout the whole creative process. If this is something that you’d like to be a part of, Sharon provides some actionable tips on how to get involved. In this episode Why Sharon moved from a career in advertising to tech How motion designers can take advantage of the growing use of animations as branding elements What it’s like working with one specific brand or product Tips for finding work creating UX designs  Predictions for the future of UX/UI How UX/UI design differs from advertising   Quotes “Everything is interconnected. We don’t just think about what a button looks like, but how it moves, what is the spatial and hierarchical relationship, how it transforms. It’s about understanding the logic behind why we make those decisions.” [8:46] “There’s just so many things you can do. It’s a very exciting field. There’s never a dull moment” [11:14] “Stories move people. That’s what I see motion growing into more within tech.” [23:13] “It’s work that is touching millions of people. You don’t focus on something that is seen for a few seconds and then disappears in a month or two. This is stuff that is implemented and people use it every day.” [31:47]  Links Follow Sharon Harris on Dribbble | Instagram Design.Google SPAN Episode 57: VR in Motion Design   Thanks for Listening! Setting and maintaining good habits and breaking habits that aren’t serving you can be an extremely difficult process. So many of us will have made some new year’s resolutions that look like new habits and I know how hard it is to keep them. If you’re already wavering or just need a little support, this episode on effectively changing your habits is for you.    HOW TO CHANGE YOUR HABITS Before I start talking about how to change your habits, I explain what some of our unconscious habits are. Habits like brushing your teeth, putting your shoes on, and turning the light on when you go in a room. What makes these habits so natural? There are four different aspects that help us create lasting habits. From having a craving to the feeling the habit ultimately rewards us with, habits are intrinsically linked to a positive mental or bodily response. And let’s not gloss over the fact that we need to have some sort of craving, either good or not so good, in order to develop a long-term habit. Creating long-term habits form when you stick at something for a period of time… and the easier we can make it for ourselves the better. Think about ways you can positively reinforce the habit - is it leaving your running shoes beside the front door? Wearing a fitness tracker? Or even building an at-home gym?  The same goes for habits you’re trying to break. I’m a firm believer in the out of sight, out of mind philosophy to help remove habits that aren’t suiting you anymore. For me, it’s been candy, as I know that long-term this won’t serve me in any positive ways. So I make sure I don’t keep any candy in the house - but this doesn’t mean I never indulge, I just consciously decide how to eat candy. Finally, I go through some questions you can ask yourself if you’re struggling with your habits. Whether you’re trying to make or break them, getting deep into your reasoning for creating the change can help you stick it out long-term. Did you set any new years resolutions? How are they going? Are there any habits you’re trying to break?  Let us know on the comments on the episode page!   Got a question you’d love to hear me answer on the show? Leave me a voice message here!   In This Episode What some of our unconscious habits are What feelings can lead to creating habits Why you need to have a craving in order to form a habit What happens when you create a new habit in a very obvious way How you can adopt the “out of sight, out of mind” philosophy to help break bad habits What questions you should ask yourself if you’re struggling to make or break a habit   Quotes “Everything that we do is more or less a habit in some way, shape, or form. Of course, we can learn new habits and we can eliminate old habits but, at the end of the day, our behavior is largely driven by these habits, whether they’re conscious or not.” (8:58) “In the future, the craving is going to continuously be strengthened because you have experienced a reward that created a positive change in your internal state, even if it’s short-lived.” (17:18) “There are lots of different ways that you can make not good, or not desireable, habits more difficult to do, and that can make it start to be less likely that you’ll do the thing you’re trying to stop doing.” (39:19) “Not all of your habits have to be fun in order to be valuable and worthwhile to you but it certainly helps if you can make them more fun.” (50:48)   Links Join the Faith Over Fear 5 Day Challenge Learn more about Atomic Habits by James Clear Got a question you’d love to hear me answer on the show? Leave me a voice message here! The most important thing you can do for your reputation is to put yourself out there and start creating one. That’s something that Keri Murphy has learned through her years in both video and entrepreneurship. Her conclusion is simply that you can’t wait to put your business out there. Keri started acting in front of the camera when she was just a child. She’s tried out so many different aspects of film, and when her talent and modeling recruitment agency went bankrupt, she knew she just had to move on to the next thing. Keri used her hardships to fuel and shape her into the next chapter of her life - opening a company to help inspire actors to be their best selves, both on and off camera. When Keri started to embrace her past mistakes, using them as inspiration and not a hindrance, she started to truly move forward in her business. By showing up authentically and sharing her vulnerability on video to her audience, she’s built a successful business where she inspires others to show up as their authentic selves, too. One of the keys to a successful business is not being afraid to take those uncomfortable steps or big leaps of faith. When Keri took a chance and invested into a program that she didn’t necessarily have the funds for, that’s when her life really changed. By having a financial investment at stake, she knew she couldn’t afford to do anything but succeed. Keri’s advice for growing business owners is to take chances and ask for help when you can. Nothing is built alone and you truly are only as successful as the team you have around you.  How can you invest in yourself today? What steps are you afraid of taking? How can you show up as your more authentic self?   In This Episode: Why you can’t wait to put your business out there How bankruptcy can be a blessing in disguise How our hardships are shaping us for our next chapter Why you can’t be afraid of making mistakes Where people will really connect with you and your business Why you need to be willing to take those uncomfortable steps How making an investment can change your life Why you should ask for help in your life and business   Quotes: “Everything that I went through made it possible to do what I’m doing right now. I couldn’t be more thankful and I never look back on my life wishing something never happened.” (10:32)  “If you have a message to share, you have to be found.” (15:34) “We learn by making mistakes, sometimes big ones, sometimes small ones, that shape our experience, our brain, and our decision making differently.” (17:21) “You can only see what you can see. When someone helps you lift the veil of possibility, you won’t be stuck anymore. You’re only stuck because you know what you know and if we knew better, we’d do better.” (36:35)   Links Join Ignite Your "IT" Factor! What if your betrayal was the paying of a karmic debt from generations ago or a karmic imprint on your soul memory? Dr. Swan Montague was given three months to live over 17 years ago when a master teacher and healer appeared at her death bed instructing her to clear the seals on the realms of secret knowledge. After spending twelve years in total seclusion learning the sacred knowledge of the universe, Dr. Swan emerged as one of the world’s leading experts on karma. If you are doing all the work that you can to move past your betrayal without success, a past life or karmic synergy may be the answer to finding true healing. Dr. Swan is here to help you identify your patterns, which of the three main roles you are playing in your karmic debts, and how to become okay with not being able to fix everything.  By addressing your ancestral lineage as well as through our own souls' past lives both individually and as a group, you can clear your karmic history and get rid of the pain that has been plaguing you. An energetic and spiritual detox and a complete reprogramming are necessary to heal the unfinished business and trauma you have from this life or past life and pay your karmic debts.  In the end, we are spiritual beings here to have a spiritual experience, and it is your challenge and opportunity to bring that spiritual experience together with your human reality to become a divine-human and heal your karmic past. Do you feel that karma could be playing a role in your current pain or past betrayal? Share what you learned from Dr. Swan in this episode in the comments on the episode page.   In This Episode  Why it is important to clear and heal your past and future karma scenarios Understanding how betrayal can be a karmic debt from generations ago How to know when you have healed your karmic betrayal and moved beyond it Looking at the souls’ journey through many lives and your own ancestral heritage Ways to get out of the cycle of playing the hero, victim or perpetrator   Quotes “Everything is karmic, everything that is happening in our reality is karma. There’s good karma and bad karma but basically we all come in with a certain amount of karmic rebalancing that we need to get through in this life.” (2:42)  “When we heal the trauma and we clear the pattern and clear the karma, our reality completely changes, because we are creating our reality all the time.” (8:01)  “We have all been our own ancestor seven or eight generations before, so very often we are playing out patterns in our life that were set up as we were our own ancestor.” (14:37) “Once we heal that pain we can then observe, we can then witness and be very, very present emotionally with people going through trauma without having to be the hero, without having to fix them or rescue them.” (19:53) “We are not here to save the world, we are here to be one with the divine and be in divine service and allow the divine to work through us in whatever way it needs.” (21:28)   Links Sacred By Swan Website The Book of Sahara - Jesus’s Secret Wife by Dr. Swan Montague   Find the full episode post here: https://pbtinstitute.com/86 Do you have Post Betrayal Syndrome? Has spending more time in nature improved your overall health? Let me know in the comments! In this episode: The problem with over-sanitization How antibiotics affect the gut Connection between the immune system and the skin Does over-sanitization as children affect us as adults? Quotes: “Everything's connected in the body. And this is a thing I think that unfortunately is forgotten about by all doctors and especially by dermatologists. Dermatologists are always thinking topical. Like, what will I do topically rather than thinking that, you know, how we heal skin is from the inside out.” [5:51] “The immune system is a remote system. So when something's activated in one place, like the gut, it can totally cause symptoms in another place like the skin.” [8:56] “What you need for a healthy immune system, particularly in infancy and childhood but throughout life at any point in life, is you need small stressors. And that's a concept called hormesis, which is the idea that something that might be toxic in a large amount, in a very tiny amount it actually optimizes health.” [13:20] Links: Find Dr. Maya Online Download Dr. Maya's FREE Earth Medicine Transformation Bundle HERE Follow Dr. Maya on Facebook | Instagram

She now has over 500,000 Instagram followers. And, her past experience in marketing allows her to see how social media fits into the overall marketing funnel. This means if you follow her advice on Instagram strategy you'll learn what to do to actually get results instead of just spend time consuming social media posts and funny memes. In this episode you will learn: Why algorithms aren't the devil and how they can actually help you What the real goal of social media marketing is - and the answer isn't "engagement" The importance of being a doer and not a consumer What the 80/20 rule is for Instagram and how it helps you stick with your brand while being real at the same time When and why you would want to archive What you need to know about IGTV and why food bloggers need to be using it The latest on hashtags - How do you use them? This isn't a bad word. It's actually awesome. All algorithms are doing is trying to make your experience better and more beneficial to you. And, so you have to work the algorithm to your benefit." "The goal for social is not what everyone thinks it is. Everyone thinks its engagement. Which is awesome. But, it's not really engagement, it's purchasing, or it's getting people to be part of an event or an organization or a group. But, there's always a goal that's marketing based and that's further and you need to see that social is the top of the funnel of whatever that goal is. Treat it like actual marketing for a brand but also understand where it fits in the funnel." "It's your responsibility to create your own experience.” "There is nothing wrong with using hashtags. And, in fact, I highly suggest hashtags because they are one of the easiest ways to get new eyeballs on you." "Grow slow, grow real, that's how you do it. There's no shortcuts"

Andrew LaCivita, career and hiring expert and award-winning author has worked with over 200 companies to help them conduct interviews, build teams that support organizational goals, and clearly define company culture. He intentionally creates his day to determine how much he can serve others. In this episode, he talks with Jim and Jan about where companies are missing the mark when hiring, what and the responsibility leaders have in the hiring process. He mentioned a free resource for veterans looking for their next job, and shares the Top 5 Questions he asks himself daily to get connected and passionate.   Key Takeaways [4:26] Organizations will find better retention and engagement when they hire based on values and capabilities rather than hard skills. Instead of hiring based on if someone could do the specific job at hand, good leaders look at characteristics such as curiosity, organization, and ability to influence. [7:23] Companies must clearly define the mission, vision and value upfront. [8:56] It all comes down to culture. Good leaders list and identify the company’s cultural traits, define them, evaluate them and ask consistently work to ensure everyone abides by them. As a potential hire, it is also important to be aware of the cultural traits, to demonstrate how you would fit positively in the group. [12:56] Often times, values are lopsided. They must be balanced with attention to both the relationship side, and performance with real results. [14:48] Good leaders must lead by example, and repeatedly show that they are accountable, responsible, clear and consistent. [18:53] The first thing Andrew does in working with a job seeker is to help them figure out who they want to be. Then, they can determine how they are going to do it, why they want to do it, and how others will benefit. [21:41] It is crucial for job seekers to have clarity on what they need to become what they want to be. A focal point takes us out of randomness, and into the design of a well woven career search. [23:23] We must be able to prepare ourselves for change. If your “why” is in order, this will help you sustain the twists and turns of your career and give you an anchor during challenging times. [28:38] Andrew is big on helping veterans during their transition. He explains that they have an extra layer of work. They have to not only provide themselves and how they fit in with the team, but have to connect the dots on how what they’ve done in service maps to what the civilian employers need. [34:12] Proactive curiosity is important. The faster you can find out the specific needs of the employer, the better off you are. [35:13] When on a job interview, ask the employer what success to them looks like in six months, and determine ways you can fill in the gaps for how you could make this happen. The more time you can spend in the interview talking about the employers future, the better the interview will go. [38:31] High achievers plan for excellence. These are the 5 Questions Andrew asks himself every day, to  take a time out of his busy schedule to think in a deliberate manner. How can I improve my service to my existing customers? How can I give more value to my community? How can I better market my services? How can I optimize my internal systems? What should I stop doing? [47:28] Be intentional about your content, and the tools and distribution channel in which you deliver it. Go where people want the content and the message. Andrew creates a video for his blog that later becomes a podcast, serving people with content in whatever platform works best for them to consume it.   Quotes “Everything that I do has always been aimed at helping people.” “Culture is the centerpiece of everything.” “Common sense is not always common practice.” “If you leave it up to randomness you aren’t going to get the results you want.” “If there is a serving element to who you are, it will always have a draw.” “It’s not about you. It’s about the people.”   Hire for the Corporate Culture you Want How to Go From Military Veteran to Civilian Professional The Mile Walk Academy Andrew LaCivita Job Search Bootcamp Interview Intervention Out  of Reach  but in Sight:  Using Goals to Achieve  Your Impossible The  Hiring  Prophecies:  Psychology behind  Recruiting Successful  Employees   Facebook: @andrewlacivita   Twitter: https://twitter.com/arlacivita Linked In: https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrewlacivita/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/andrewlacivita/

From the Mind Up Curriculum, Lesson 2 on Mindful Awareness.     Episode breakdown  Quotes Everything is my responsibility.  I always ask “what is my responsibility in getting here, and what actions am I willing to take to move forward?”    We focus only on our part, not on what the other person has done.  We clean up our side of the street and keep going. Even if I didn’t cause the situation, is my reaction appropriate?  What am I making this mean? We can’t control what happens, but we can control how we react to it. Today’s guest is none other than Faisal Khokhar, a trained international speaker and life coach and In today’s episode of the Be Your Best in Business podcast we delve deeper into the Personal Development section of the DRIVE for Business Programme.   In this episode we talk about some useful tips and tricks to understand yourself better – both as an individual and as an entrepreneur businessman/woman   The major topic that we are covering today with Faisal is self-awareness. He also shares that whatever is happening in your personal life also happens in your business life, they are intertwined in a way.   He also talked about communication as a key to deeper relationships.   Faisal explained that everything is energy, everything is vibrating at an energy level.   We tackled one’s inner masculinity and femininity regardless of sex, what they are, and how each can affect your attitude and behaviour.   He shared the key differences between the masculine and the feminine energies. They are: That masculine energy is a task-based, it just wants to get things done. The feminine energy is about being – it is about feeling and connecting. It is creative. Faisal talks that being able to understand both energies mean being able to work out which one of them is needed in any given situation.   In this episode Faisal also shares the most common mistake that people commit while trying to improve their self-awareness, and that is OVERTHINKING.   Faisal shared his top balanced feminine traits, and they are: Compassion Interception Flow Wisdom Intuition When you have insufficient feminine traits, it leads to smothering, very rigid, and overthinking. When you have too much of the feminine energy, you tend to become depressed, spacey, confusion, stagnant, and needy.   A balanced masculine traits shows the following: Assertion Directional Methodical Thinking Action Giving Consciousness If your masculine energy is insufficient, you tend to become fearful, withdrawn, spineless, lost, hopeless, and stagnant. And if you have too much of the energy, you tend to lean towards domination, controlling, rigid mental constructs, anxiety, forcing, and distance.   Golden Nugget Round Question 1 – What would you tell your 18 Year Old Self? Let me read out something I wrote for my kids. Live a fearless life on your terms. Be bold, be brave. Live with an open heart where your voice has no fear, no regrets – only love. Your life needs no approval, just as your actions do not need to be approved by others. Move through life unapologetically and from the heart. Keep growing, be humble and stay grounded. Your true purpose in life is to be kind. This will bring you all you need, you want, and you desire to be.   Question 2 – What would you lecture at University today? I would like to have my own lecture about two things that we are seeking in life, freedom and connection.   Question 3 – What was your biggest investment or financial decision? Invest in seminars, talk, trainings, and coaches.   Guest Details To contact Faisal, feel free to contact via his website: http://faisk.com/   Links and Resources http://faisk.com/   Quotes Everything is energy – the chair you’re sitting on, the table, the floor – everything is vibrating at an energy level. –Faisal Khokhar   What happens in your personal life is also what happens in your business life. –Faisal Khokhar   People buy people. –Faisal Khokhar
