Get ready for a wild and unapologetically off-the-rails ride on this week's “Kliq This,” as Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver kick things off by pondering one of life's real head-scratchers: ever have a day where you just want to be a small Asian woman getting railed…by yourself? The conversation only gets crazier from there, with Sean offering White Lotus updates and Kev comparing it all to who-knows-what from past pop culture. You'll wonder if the guys have traveled to an alternate universe—or maybe they're just enjoying their front-row seats to the strangest corners of wrestling and TV. Before you know it, Nash and Oliver are dissecting a particularly spiky moment on AEW Dynamite, featuring Moxley, Cope (or maybe Edge—you be the judge), and that now-infamous toilet brush from hell. A little ringworm talk floats by next, because what's a wrestling deep dive without a few nasty tales of unclean mats, questionable promoters, and every other pitfall of life on the road? As Kev always says, you don't truly know pain until you see how nasty things get when half the roster's dealing with ringworm and you're seriously debating whether to walk out before showtime. Looking for more road stories and real talk? Kevin's got you covered on how to survive travel, the subtle art of “regularity” on the road, and why you should never trust the catering in certain promotions. He also dives into behind-the-scenes madness with talent arrivals, bizarre run-ins, and all the million little things that make wrestling shows the glorious cluster they often are. If you've ever thought about bringing your own toilet paper to a gig, congratulations—you and Big Sexy think alike. Of course, it wouldn't be “Kliq This” without the guys hitting you with left-field humor and some big-guy financial chatter. Kevin muses on everything from investment advice to bracket busters, because apparently, a deep dive on Kenyon Martin and the Florida basketball program pairs perfectly with stories about near-death experiences in the ring. Think of it like the perfect storm of wrestling nostalgia, stock tips, and comedic tangents only Nash and Oliver can conjure. By the time they wrap, your head will be spinning with random trivia, locker room memories, and the undeniable, unfiltered chemistry that only happens when The Big Guy and Sean get in front of the mic. Come for the unholy joke about iguana eggs, stay for the inside scoop on how not to get impaled by a spiked brush. If you're looking for that genuine, laugh-so-hard-you-cry vibe with just a touch of backstage scandal, you've found your new favorite hour right here on “Kliq This.” Enjoy the ride…and maybe pack some baby wipes. Kliq This is back with another off-the-rails ride, as Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver tackle a wild mix of conspiracies, comedy, and classic wrestling anecdotes. From debating whether the NWO was actually an inside job to deep dives into 9/11 theories, it's part history class, part mind-bending chat. Kevin shares the pain and promise of anti-aging secrets (doctors' orders or total nonsense?), while Sean defends his impulsive online shopping habits—like needing a marble fruit bowl during a stroll through historic Alexandria. They also revisit the glory days of iconic ring entrances, discuss the Rock's rumored return, and crack open the mania behind Elvis impersonators. In this episode of Kliq This, Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver bring you the usual mix of candid conversation and behind-the-scenes insights. From Kevin's ongoing gym routine after his bicep/shoulder surgery to a deep dive into the current wrestling landscape, including thoughts on the Royal Rumble and a certain “YEET” phenomenon, there's plenty to unpack! Kevin opens up about training again post-surgery (with some cautionary tales and hilarious gym stories), they break down the latest from RAW and talk about why a certain superstar has the crowd fully in the palm of their hand. Sean even admits he might be “too old” for all the hype—Kevin vehemently disagrees. You'll also hear some random but riveting discussions about the Grammys, potential real estate ventures in Gaza (!?), and a cameo memory of working with Macho Man Randy Savage. As always, the guys respond to your comments and questions: from bicep rehab tips (avoid cortisone, folks) to memorable wedding stories (wait till you hear about Triple H's wedding reception!). Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver are back with another wild ride on “Kliq This,” and this week kicks off with Kevin sharing some outrageous stories sparked by a visit from his longtime friend Adam. Though Adam's not actually on the show, his stay at Kevin's house brings up memories of how they once bonded while filming “Magic Mike,” including a near-brawl over coffee and a close-knit camaraderie forged by dancing in their underwear on set. Kevin also reveals how their grand scheme to buy a minor-league baseball team nearly came to fruition and why they never stopped talking about the Savannah Bananas. The wrestling world still looms large as they dig into the phenomenon of the Sheik impression popping up in every locker room. Kevin offers sharp insight on how classic terms like “Jabroni” managed to infiltrate the modern wrestling lexicon, and Sean can't help but crack up whenever they recall Iron Sheik's legendary banter. They also toss around some thoughts on what makes certain wrestling figures outlast their own eras, from Gorilla Monsoon's “gorilla position” to Andre's famous stickers found around the globe. Midway through, the conversation veers into side-splitting territory when Kevin describes a certain “towel joke” that's both cringe-worthy and laugh-out-loud hilarious. It's the kind of humor you expect when he and Sean get going, made even funnier by the lingering influence of Adam's visit and all the freewheeling banter that comes with old friends reuniting. Their chemistry only gets sharper as Kevin drops a few more stories about his latest run-ins and some unfiltered advice you might not want to follow in public. If you're looking for a mix of wrestling nostalgia, Hollywood antics, ridiculous side stories, and genuine friendship, you've come to the right place. Kevin and Sean manage to balance it all while reminding fans why “Kliq This” is unlike any other podcast out there. No matter how crazy the discussion gets, these two always bring it back to the laughs—and this episode is no exception. Plus, they talk personal health routines, longevity treatments, and why a collar-and-elbow tie-up with father time can feel a lot like trying to flush a stubborn “Viking ship.” If you're here for stories about wild pranks on the road or how Kevin is staying on top of his game at 65, you found the right place. From behind-the-scenes tales of the nWo days to modern WWE insights, you'll get unfiltered commentary (and probably some unusual visuals) that only Kevin and Sean can deliver. On this week's episode of Kliq This, Kevin Nash sits down with Sean Oliver to recap what might be Kevin's most grueling milestone yet—his 38th surgery. Kevin breaks down the details of the procedure, the challenges of post-op recovery, and what it means to bounce back at age 65. In between rounds of surgical talk, the guys riff on a range of topics including health supplements like bovine colostrum, the reality of pain management, and why getting older makes you eye anesthesia a whole lot differently. Kevin and Sean also dive into the lighter side of things—from the nostalgia of old WWF charity softball games to the evolution of sending out holiday cards (and how the “paper Christmas card” might be on the way out). Along the way, they laugh about old-school Detroit desserts, the art of manscaping before surgery, and the mystery of black curtains in AEW arenas. This is vintage Kevin Nash: honest, unfiltered, and surprisingly funny while recovering from a tough surgery. Whether you're tuning in for wrestling stories, candid life updates, or just to hang with the guys, this episode proves that Big Sexy's still got plenty left in the tank—even at surgery #38. In this episode of Kliq This, titled "Promos in Front of no Crowd," Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver dive into the unique challenges and creativity required for professional wrestling promos performed without a live audience. They explore how wrestlers adapt their delivery, energy, and engagement in the absence of crowd reactions, focusing on the psychological and performance aspects that go into making these promos effective. The hosts reminisce about their experiences and observations from various promotions, discussing how different wrestlers and companies have handled this situation, especially during the pandemic era. They highlight the differences between traditional promos in front of a roaring crowd and the more intimate, often experimental nature of promos done in empty arenas. Throughout the conversation, Nash and Oliver emphasize the importance of maintaining authenticity and emotional connection, even when the usual feedback loop from the audience is missing. They also touch upon the technical aspects, such as camera work and production choices, that can enhance or detract from the impact of these promos. Listen to Nash and Oliver as they bring their straightforward and engaging style to this discussion, offering insights into the evolving landscape of wrestling entertainment and the creative adaptability of its performers. Sean, trapped in a New Jersey snowstorm, shares his icy predicaments, sparking a discussion on the practicalities and humor of winter driving, to which Detroit native Kevin can definitely relate. The conversation then smoothly transitions to electric vehicles, highlighting the difficulties of charging in cold temperatures, with a specific nod to an article about Tesla's battery issues. This naturally leads to a broader discourse on climate change and its undeniable effects on weather patterns. Amidst these discussions, the hosts don't miss a beat to touch on current political happenings. They express their astonishment at the low voter turnout at the Iowa caucus, delving into the nuances of political events and their larger implications, reflecting their keen interest in the political landscape. Throughout the episode, Sean and Kevin's chemistry shines, blending humor and personal stories into their conversations. Their engaging banter and insightful commentary make this episode a compelling listen for those who appreciate a mix of light-heartedness and in-depth discussion on a variety of topics. Let's stop criticizing intuitive eating. In a world where intuitive eating has become a buzzword, it's crucial to sift through the chatter and truly understand what it means. We're not here to entertain misconceptions or misinterpretations of intuitive eating—those are a whole different story. Instead, we're bringing you a discussion that revolves around the insightful critiques of intuitive eating from individuals who genuinely respect and comprehend its principles. In this episode, I am chatting with Elyse Resch (her second time on the UDE podcast, by the way!). Elyse Resch, MS, RDN, CEDS-S, Fiaedp, FADA, FAND, is a nutrition therapist in private practice in California, with over forty years of experience, specializing in eating disorders, Intuitive Eating, and Health at Every Size. She is the co-author of Intuitive Eating, now in its 4th edition, the Intuitive Eating Workbook, and The Intuitive Eating Card Deck—50 Bite-Sized Ways to Make Peace with Food. Tweetable Quotes “You have to look at what's happening in your life and adjust to that.” - Elyse Resch “We have to have compassion for everyone and meet them where they are and help them understand the place they're in.” - Elyse Resch “I move my body because it helps make me strong. I love it when I can pick up a box when I can twist the top off of a bottle that nobody else can. I love being strong.” - Elyse Resch “They have to do with cortisol, with our stress. If our stress is very high, if we don't know how we're going to pay our rent or get the food to pay to feed the kids or, not be able to go to a doctor because we don't have health care, the stress is so high. That is impacting our health far more than eating a ding dong.” - Elyse Resch Resources Intuitive Eating Research Studies Connect with Elyse: Instagram or check out her website at www.elyseresch.com/.

Potential to Powerhouse: Success Secrets for Women Entrepreneurs
Maria Quiban Whitesell is a powerhouse media weather anchor on Fox 11 news who has been a positive force on television for two decades. She built an award-winning reputation as a trusted go-to for weather and reporting on human interest stories and has developed a fan base that celebrates her bubbly personality on TV. While having to put a smile on her face every day in front of millions on LA's popular morning show, Good Day LA, no one had a clue the kind of personal toll she was taking on at home. When on the home front in 2014, Maria Quiban Whitesell's husband Sean was diagnosed with a deadly form of brain cancer known as glioblastoma (GBM), she was completely unprepared. Her first thought was how could she possibly explain what was happening to their young son, Gus? How would she manage to say goodbye to the love of her life and, ultimately, live without him? In today's Potential to Powerhouse conversation, Maria speaks openly about her journey of finding hope and shining her light through grief after Sean's passing. Tuning in, you'll learn about the book she wrote describing her experience, titled You Can't Do It Alone: A Widow's Journey Through Loss, Grief, and Life After, in which she teams up with licensed therapist Lauren Schneider to provide readers with a roadmap for walking through illness, death, and grief. This is a heart-led conversation about love, resilience, and the understanding that everyone has their own challenges to overcome, despite how things may appear from the outside. Maria takes this opportunity to reach out to those who may be dealing with a traumatic loss to say, “You are not alone!” Make sure not to miss this tender-yet-powerful conversation with media powerhouse and author Maria Quiban Whitesell! Key Points From This Episode: Insight into Maria's 25 years in ‘infotainment' and what drew her to the weather. How she came to work for KTTV in Los Angeles and what she loves about being live. Hear the fateful story of how she met her late husband Sean Whitesell at a party. Find out why she and Sean broke up before getting back together; and married Some early signs something was wrong that Maria noticed prior to Sean's diagnosis. How she and Sean were blindsided by the news that he had glioblastoma. Why Maria believes that it was actually a blessing that Sean's GBM was inoperable. Part of Maria's purpose is to shine a light on this disease and attract funding for research. Advice she received from a nurse shortly after receiving Sean's diagnosis: Be strong. How Maria devoted herself to spending the time they had left making memories. Why she decided to title her book You Can't Do It Alone; the importance of support. What it was like to work with licensed therapist Lauren Schneider. Maria shares why she is such a strong advocate for professional mental health support. The crucial role that family support played and her advice to listeners: Find your village and share your story to gain support. The promise she made to Sean; that she and Gus would live their greatest lives possible. Maria shares where she is on her journey through grief and how she hopes her book will inspire and help readers. Hello everyone! Today, there is a special focus on schools. Across America, people are examining curriculum, going to board meetings and making their voices heard, and posting online about their worries about where schools are going. Many people dismiss these events by saying they are spurred by special interest groups (driven by money). They say the parents railing against Critical Race Theory or what they call inappropriate sex and race education, is all either a misunderstanding or ignorance. While this show has featured many educators who have outlined why race should be addressed in schools, how identity is a part of the real world, and how the cry from parents is misguided, I wanted to bring on the other side, so to speak. I wanted to speak to a parent about her concerns, and the concerns of others, in hopes of at minimum, coming to an understanding, and at best, bridging gaps between schools of thought. To do so, I have brought on Jill Simonian. Jill is the Director of Outreach for PragerU Kids, is the on-camera personality and 'spokesmom' for PragerU's new digital children's edu-tainment for Kindergarten through 12th grade. Jill is a former television host & media contributor, founder of TheFABMom blog and published author. Previously, Jill was best known for her straight-talking parenting segments on Los Angeles' KCBS, KCAL, KTLA, KTTV as well as HLN/CNN, The Doctors, Access LIVE, TODAY Show, E! News, Hallmark Channel and more (totaling over 500 family lifestyle segments and articles between 2011-2020). Connect with Jill via PragerU.com/kids and Instagram/Twitter @jillsimonian. As I say in the intro of this episode... you may not agree with everything said in this episode. I certainly do not. However, I believe that listening to one another, even when we disagree, is our best way to proceed forward. This episode is sponsored by Heinemann—the leading publisher of professional books and resources for educators—and their professional book, Four Essential Studies: Beliefs and Practices to Reclaim Student Agency by Penny Kittle and Kelly Gallagher. Four Essential Studies is based on the belief that secondary students can only be prepared for life after high school when we purposefully shift the decision-making in our classrooms over to them. By reimagining how we teach essay, poetry, digital composition, and sustain talk in book clubs, we can ignite student curiosity, independence, and decision-making skills. Penny and Kelly share the strategies and activities they use in their own classrooms over the course of each unit, and show us what is possible when we expect more than compliance from our students. Learn more about how to transform students' relationship with literacy. Visit Heinemann.com to download a sample from Four Essential Studies.

Cinematographer Donald A. Morgan, ASC has won 10 Emmys and is nominated this year for three more for his work on Netflix's The Upshaws, Fox's Last Man Standing, and ABC's The Conners. Like a few cinematographers, Donald had some experience studying architecture in college, which enabled him to take two dimensional drawings and visualize them in three dimensions. He also thought he'd be a professional baseball player or a musician- his father was a musician who played in Cab Calloway's band, so Donald grew up around musicians and stages. By his mid-20's he had a job working at KTTV in Los Angeles in the mailroom while trying to make it with his own band in the 1970's, and was soon offered a position in the lighting department. He found his experience reading architectural plans made it easy to understand electrical schematics. Donald worked on the lighting crews for several different shows produced by the legendary Norman Lear, such as Good Times, The Jeffersons, and Diff'rent Strokes, plus many other shows. Donald knew working on shows produced by Lear were progressive and groundbreaking for the time, telling stories about people of color like himself, and Lear made it a point to hire a diverse workforce for his shows. Soon, Donald was offered a union job as a DP on two shows on the Universal lot- Silver Spoons and Gloria. Donald was able to learn more about cinematography while working on the Universal lot by visiting several different film stages and making notes on how different DPs worked. Working on three camera shows, the whole set can be lit before there's any blocking, because typically, comedies use very high-key lighting. Donald notes where the walls and doors are, and then most sets can be lit with standard three point lighting. For The Conners, as the show becomes a bit darker, Donald subtly shades the room for more drama, and brightens the room as the mood lightens. Most multi-camera shows use three to four fixed cameras, and dolly in for shots rather than just panning. Donald also uses a jib arm camera on the show Last Man Standing, a technique he began using back on Home Improvement. The jib arm came into use on Home Improvement because the character Mr. Wilson, Tim Allen's neighbor, was never seen over the fence, and the camera crew had to get creative with how to shoot those scenes. Donald enjoys working on multi-camera studio shows because it keeps him local, and he's been able to spend more time with his family with three weeks on and one week off, with the longest days about 10-12 hours. He tries to keep the work as creative as possible, always watching and learning about new techniques he can bring to the shows he shoots. Though Donald is very experienced with shooting multi-camera shows, he will often shoot single-camera short films to keep his skills fresh. You can see Donald A. In this episode Mary interviews the co-author of the original Intuitive Eating book!! She is so beyond honored to be able to speak with Elyse about how Intuitive Eating (IE), the concept and book, came to be starting in the early 1990s. This episode is for anyone who's (re)learning how to eat intuitively and wants deeper insight into the practice. You will learn about... How IE has evolved over the past 26 years and why it's gained popularity in recent years The 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating (and which one is the most challenging) The biggest criticisms of IE (and why they're plain WRONG) How to instill IE into teenagers using adolescent psychology Remember: your body has an innate wisdom that goes far beyond diet culture and beauty standards. Intuitive eating is about tapping into that wisdom, and learning to trust your body again. "I wish I would have known there was another way to help people heal" Her nuggets for us as professionals today include: How she knew she had eating problems but was missed by a therapist who said she was ok because she wasn't throwing up and “looked ok” How she wants everyone to know that restrictive eating to lose weight can cause infertility How important it is to surround ourselves regularly with other professionals Addressing the criticism that Intuitive Eating (IE) can't be used for eating disorders, (see also Christy Harrison's Food Psych podcast recording with Elyse about using IE for eating disorders). Finally, her new journal is coming out, with a book signing THIS weekend if you are near LA or looking for a good reason to visit, and although this journal and the IE program is for consumers, this is a call to all professionals to do our own work through practicing IE in our own lives. Aron Bender first talked with author and KTTV Fox 11 Good Day LA meteorologist Maria Quiban when he hosted Wake Up Call on KFI in Los Angeles. She had just returned from bereavement leave after her husband Sean died of glioblastoma (GBM), a deadly form of brain cancer. In Maria's new book "You Can't Do It Alone: A Widow's Journey Through Loss, Grief and Life After," she writes about the 18 months she, Sean and their son Gus spent from diagnosis to Sean's passing, how she and Gus handled Sean's death, and what they learned about themselves and each other. "You Can't Do It Alone" has been a big help in my life since my wife's passing 4+ months ago. Maria and I talk about watching our warrior partners power through pain, the toll it takes on us and our children, the importance of therapy and communication, how losing her own father when she was 7 helped her prepare for Sean's death, and how she and her son have bonded using TikTok. This is such a meaningful conversation, and I hope you are as moved by it as I was. John Mulrooney is an American comedian, radio and TV show host, actor and writer. Mulrooney was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He began his career on the NYC comedy scene at Rick Newman's Catch a Rising Star in 1979. Mulrooney transitioned into television in the early eighties on a show called Comedy Tonight. In addition to his 13 stand-up appearances he also wrote and produced original content for 165 episodes. Mulrooney competed on Star Search and lost, but it helped his early career, since he was hired to work for the program, writing comedy and doing audience warm up. Upon relocating to Los Angeles, California, Mulrooney became a "regular" at The Improvisation, The World Famous Comedy Store and The Laugh Factory. After Joan Rivers left as host of The Late Show on the Fox network in 1987, Mulrooney was asked to replace her. After a few months, The Late Show was cancelled due to low ratings and strong competition from The Tonight Show and Nightline. Mulrooney hosted Comic Strip: Live, first for a year as a local show on KTTV in Los Angeles in 1988, continuing when Fox TV programming executives expanded the show to Fox-owned stations, then network-wide on Saturday nights, for an additional year. He continued to appear on other TV shows such as An Evening at the Improv, Hollywood Squares, Showtime, HBO and Comedy Central and filling in as guest host for Pat Sajak on The Pat Sajak Show. In 1994 Mulrooney wrote, and starred, for two seasons in a sitcom called Midtown North which aired on Comedy Central. He was also one of the featured comics on Andrew Dice Clay's Valentine's Day Massacre pay-per-view special in 1994. Then in 1996 Mulrooney moved back to NYC to begin a career in radio. He co-hosted The John and Abbey show, an afternoon drive-time show which aired on 105.1 - The Buzz. During this time Mulrooney earned the N.Y.S.B Broadcaster's Award for Best On-Air Personality. In 1998 he made the switch to morning radio and teamed up with veteran radio host, Bob Wolf. Wolf and Mulrooney in the Morning went on to beat The Howard Stern Show in the ratings in 2000. John then won Best On-Air Personality for a second time. After a syndication deal drew them to Cleveland, the pair split up and continued to work in radio. In 2007 and 2009, Mulrooney toured Israel on the Crossroads Comedy Tour, a series of benefit concerts for the Crossroads Center in Jerusalem, sponsored by Jerry Seinfeld. In 2008 and 2010, Mulrooney travelled to the Middle East to entertain troops as part of the - Incoming Comedy tour.In 2014 Mulrooney hosted his own show on iHeartRADIO, Mulrooney in the Morning. He still tours the country appearing at comedy clubs, casinos and corporate functions. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/otcpod1/support

Tread Perilously ventures into the surprisingly large selection of dramas and sitcoms featuring surprisingly large families for a theme month we had to call "Too Many Kids!" Our first round: an episode of the short lived dramedy The Bradys called "Bottom's Up." When Marcia feels sidelined by Carol and ignored by her husband Wally, she looks for a chemical way to alleviate her growing ennui. Will the demon liquor become her crutch? Meanwhile, Wally's attempt to secure his position as Mike Brady's assistant leads him directly into the cauldron of graft and corruption. Also, Greg, Jan, and Bobby put their heads together to solve a problem among the town's various trauma centers. Justin tries to understand why people would want to watch family dramas. A discussion of literary fiction ensues. The Brady Bunch phenomenon also gets examined. Erik recalls the afternoon broadcast schedules of KTLA, KTTV, and KCOP in the late 1980s. Justin tries to figure out why Marcia married Wally. He also realizes the actor playing Wally also played "Killer" Carlson in Slap Shot. Erik imagines a version of Dune in which Angela Lansbury played the Reverend Mother Helen Gaius Mohiam. Don Drysdale makes his Tread Perilously debut as an anti-masturbation advocate. Fake-Marcia gets discussed. The duo envision a family friendly teen comedy starring Christopher Knight and the episode's ill-advised alcoholism plot leads to a discussion of a much better version of this story.
Created in 1995, Intuitive Eating has exploded in cultural awareness in recent years. In this episode, I sat down with co-creators Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch to talk about intuitive eating’s origins, the evolution toward weight inclusive wellness and why they reworked the material for the newest edition (to be released June 2020) as anti-diet. Plus I read letters from four fellow dietitians at various stages of their careers to share the impact it has made on them personally and professionally. Body Kindness 100% embraces Intuitive Eating as the way to work with your body and heal your relationship with food. (It’s what saved me at my diet “rock bottom”. Elyse Resch knows all about Intuitive Eating because she is the co-author of the Intuitive Eating book and workbook, along with previous podcast guest Evelyn Tribole (Episode 26). In this episode, we talk about Intuitive Eating in the family dynamic.
