How often do you catch yourself merely waiting for your turn to respond, not really noticing or even caring about what the other person is trying to communicate. This reactive mode of communication often stifles genuine expression, preventing us from fully emptying our thoughts and emotions. Consequently, a lack of authentic listening extends to various facets of our lives, from family dynamics to professional environments, hindering meaningful connections and triggering misunderstandings. Author of Better Listening, Stan Slovin has worked over 30 years in the securities industry with individuals, families, and business owners as a financial professional with major national brokerage firms. Stan earned his bachelor of science degree in finance at the Champaign- Urbana campus of the University of Illinois. He also holds a Juris doctorate from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. Stan is actively involved in charitable organizations focusing on mental health and children with disabilities. He loves traveling and plays in a rock and roll band. Stan, his wife, and their two adult children are from the Chicago area. In this episode, Stan talks about how empathy and genuine engagement can create safe spaces for authentic expression, both in personal relationships and professional environments. And he shares stories on how this paves the way for more meaningful conversations and discussions. "When others see that you are listening, not only will they appreciate it but you'll appreciate that they appreciate it and you'll be happier." - Stan Slovin Listening SUPERPOWER Notes: 00:30 - That moment he noticed the power of listening: I've recognized this my whole life with my parents, at school and in the area of sales and advisory. 01:56 - Stan's aha moment about listening: We are actually listening to respond versus listening to understand. 04:15 - What is so important about leadership: Great leaders are the best listeners. 06:15 - A different approach to listening brought about by change 09:08 - The need to shift from transactional to empathetic listening 14:00 - What helps to improve productivity and retention at work: Leaders have to enable their employees to give feedback. 17:21 - The premise behind the title of his book, 'Better Listening' 20:54 - Life experiences showing how important empathy is in listening 23:57 - What 'emptying of bucket' as a result of empathy all boils down to: Allowing a person to go deeper instead of a surface response. 26:28 - The 'golden ticket question' you can use at work: What is most important to you with regard to a relationship with working with X? 30:24 - What Stan wants to see in a podcast interview and what relationship he wants to have with the host: What's important to me are open-ended questions. 33:12 - A deeper message he wants to share in his book: I want relationships to be better in terms of respect, of being considerate of others. 36:51 - The importance of fostering better relationships through better listening. 40:14 - Stan's most encouraging parting words: We're all good listeners; but we could all be better listeners. Key Takeaways: "To be a good leader you have to be a good listener." - Stan Slovin "Why does a relationship leave? It was that they believed that you were not listening to them. you didn't have their best interest because you weren't hearing what they were saying. You were just always talking." - Stan Slovin "People are crying to be heard. They want others to listen to them." - Stan Slovin "Leaders don't have to change everything; they just have to tweak a little bit." - Stan Slovin "Everyone could be a better listener because what's missing in the conversation is that we're not allowing that empathy piece to really play a key role." - Stan Slovin "Empathy is key in listening." - Stan Slovin "They don't have to agree with the person that's talking, but they should at least pause and listen to hear. So that there is mutual respect and consideration so that the relationship. Even though it may not come to an agreement, they could still remain being invited to the thanksgiving dinner." - Stan Slovin Notes/ Mentions: Better Listening by Stan Slovin: https://www.betterlisteningbook.com Connect with Stan Slovin: Website: https://www.betterlisteningbook.com Connect with Raquel Ark: www.listeningalchemy.com Mobile: + 491732340722 contact@listeningalchemy.com LinkedIn Podcast email: listeningsuperpower@gmail.com

In this episode, The Annuity Man discussed: Annuities are contracts How Indexed Annuities should be used Don't buy an annuity for market returns Key Takeaways: To say that something is “guaranteed and backtested” means that there is nothing guaranteed at all. Annuities are contracts, buy them for what they will do and not what they might do. Indexed Annuities have the potential to go down in value, but they can be used as an efficient delivery system for guaranteed lifetime income through an income rider attachment. If you want market returns, never buy an annuity. Annuity solves for four things: Principal protection, Income for life, Legacy, and Long-term care. For Jay Vallotton, the turning point in his marriage was learning to connect with his wife through her emotions rather than trying to fix them. Now, Jason urges men to reconsider their approach to emotions, both in marriage and parenting. Tune in as he shares practical advice for repairing mistakes, handling dysregulation in a child, and approaching conversations with the end in mind. Key Takeaways To live wholeheartedly means addressing sin, being present, and fulfilling your God-given call instead of allowing fear to shrink you. Your wife needs to feel seen, known, and heard. Trust is not built through the absence of mistakes but by how you repair. The #1 conversation hack is to start with the end in mind. The right time to instruct and discipline is not when your child is emotionally dysregulated. Jay Vallotton Jay Vallotton is the founder of BraveCo, a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Bethel Church, and an overseer of the Bethel Transformation Center. He is passionate about helping people discover their God-given identity, find freedom, and walk out their true calling. Jason lives in Redding, California, with his wife, Lauren, and their five kids and daughter-in-law. Key Quotes 3:48 - "One of the prayers that David prays is, God, search me, know me, reveal to me what's going on in my life. Which honestly, is such a scary, dangerous prayer. But on the other side, I think that in order to live wholeheartedly we do have to address those areas in our life that aren't whole, that have cracks or have a little bit of brokenness or doubt, and that's a very challenging thing to do. But what that really means is when I come home and my wife confronts me on something and I dismiss her feelings, I'm not living wholeheartedly. When I come home and my kids want to play and I don't want to be present, I'm actually not living wholeheartedly. The practical application of being. The things that you write on your heart, the things that you write on your wrist, the truth, God's truth.. You have to live those out in your day to day life. And there's accountability inside of that." 17:05 - "Trust is not built through the absence of mistakes. Trust is built by how you clean up a mess. Your wife will trust you because she knows you can have a bad moment, you're going to go away, you're going to process through that in a healthy way and come back and give her what you wish you would've given her in the moment. That's more valuable than being able to nail it every time, because we innately know no one's going to nail it every time. But what we don't know is, I trust that you're going to come back and repair what has been damaged. If you can repair what you are messing up, you're adding so much more value than just trying to get it right, perfectly or expecting yourself to. You're not and your wife's not, more importantly, your whole environment, isn't. So, your kids are going to watch you do this process. Your wife's going to watch you do this process, and they're going to follow in this ecosystem that it's okay to fail. It's not okay to hurt each other but it's okay to fail because we can go back and clean up a mess." In this episode, Lisa, Rebecca, David, and Becky discuss:A critique of the information and misinformation of the latest NACAC Annual Survey of Colleges. The role of ACT and SAT scores even beyond the admissions process. The impact of Institutional Priorities in the admission of students.Colleges have differing expectations for various majors, including highly competitive majors. Whether the ability to pay affects students' admission rates.Key Takeaways: To understand what schools seek for admissions, the common data set is more important than the NACAC survey for the colleges your student is considering. The survey does not reflect admission by major but is critical for your student to understand.College is more than just getting in; it is also about affording college. Test-optional admissions help the most wealthy students and the least wealthy students. It hurts those in the middle class the most. Institutional priorities, like the ability to pay, influence admission but are not covered in the survey. “We always have to take these surveys with a grain of salt. I encourage families to do their homework, to work with professionals, or to work closely with their school counselor to really understand the nuances of college admissions because until things change, it continues to be very opaque.” – Rebecca Stuart-OrlowskiAbout Becky Priest: Becky Priest is the College Counselor at The Cambridge School, where she has overseen the design and build-out of their college counseling program. She also has over 20 years of college financial aid experience at all levels. She is currently serving on the Classic Learning Test's Board of Academic Advisors.About David Blobaum: David Blobaum is a nationally recognized expert on standardized exams and college admissions. He graduated from the University of Chicago with honors. He co-founded and runs 1Summit Prep and he is the Director of Outreach for the National Test Prep Association. In this episode, Steve Fretzin, Charlie Uniman, Colin Levy, and Maya Markovich discuss:The disconnect between legal tech and lawyers. Great online resources to stay ahead of legal tech. The AI impact on the legal tech industry. Best legal tech products for startups. Key Takeaways:To get over the hurdle of choosing tech and having people change the way they do business, make a good business case and make someone the champion for the change. Ask yourself why you want to learn about legal tech and let that drive what you look for to avoid getting overwhelmed with the amount of information out there. While prompting is currently a struggle for many with AI, it is not likely to remain a challenge for long as AI gets more intelligent. Some tech isn't marketed towards law, specifically, but can be a great tool for your law firm. Look at what is going to solve the problem you're having. This week, Dan Neumann is joined by his colleague and host of today's conversation, Justin Thatil; Justin welcomes Mariano Oliveti and Erica Menendez to discuss a recurrent topic: Coaching versus Mastering the Details. This episode addresses the complexities of coaching, especially considering the different maturity levels and even diverse areas of expertise within a Team. They also dive deep into the matter of a Scrum Master's expertise, debating whether or not it is a requirement to perform the role better. Key Takeaways To coach anybody doesn't necessarily mean you have to be the master of that specific topic, but it could be really beneficial in certain situations. Coaching will depend on the maturity of the Team and even in which areas each Team shows more maturity than others. Does the Scrum Master need to understand every single detail of the work the Team is doing? Certainly not, but it can help! A Scrum Master must need to know a certain type of technology to be able to do the work. A Scrum Master needs to show empathy to know the Team's struggles and identify their challenges. The Scrum Master must ensure the Team knows its purpose and how to reach it. A Scrum Master is not defined by their technical background. A Scrum Master needs to know the details regarding the Agile Methodology but learns with each new client the aspects of that particular business, process, tools, and overall product. A Scrum Master encourages a continuous education mindset within the Team. When a Team gets better at sharing information about their learning, it indicates a Scrum Master is fostering a psychologically safe environment. A Scrum Master models vulnerability for the Team Members to feel safe to practice it, too. Mentioned in this Episode: The Scrum Guide Want to Learn More or Get in Touch? In this episode Lisa and Susie discuss:When to really start diving deep into your student's college search. Focusing on the high school experience before pushing the college experience. The importance of spending time on the college website. Utilizing the various social media platforms to learn more about colleges. Key Takeaways: To know which college your student wants to attend, they first need to know why they want to attend. Utilizing Google Sheets to organize your student's college lists with all their information is completely free and keeps everything in one place. Some schools are more welcoming to those who are undecided about their major going into college. If your student is unsure of what they want to major in, that should be a factor they are considering. Plot your student's college fair strategy - they can be overwhelming if you go in unarmed. “The statistics are pretty grim in that most kids don't spend much time on the college website. And it's really invaluable information because this is where college puts out everything they believe in and everything they offer.” – Susie WattsAbout Susie Watts: I am a college consultant and author with 30 years of experience. Key Takeaways To have motivation, it is important that you understand your Whys. Why are you doing this? Why are you doing the work that you do? Where do you want to go? What legacy would you like to leave behind? Forget about creating a business plan and hoping people will like it. Instead, focus on building a business plan around something people already want. Running a business isn't all as glamorous as it seems on social media. It's a rollercoaster ride of hard work, physical effort, and sleepless nights. What you see online is only the tip of the iceberg! “A lot of times, entrepreneurs want to be like make a business plan, I gotta go sell this stuff. For us, we have this stuff that people want, so we are going to create a business plan around that. We've grown in that way of what it is that our customer wants. How can we grow and scale this?” - Juliana Scheidhauer “It is unique as an entrepreneur and as a business owner that you are able to make a bigger impact than you normally would. You get to use your company for something good.” - Juliana Scheidhauer “If I can make my business global, I can help more people.” - Juliana Scheidhauer “You don't have to wait till you made it to start giving back and doing something for your community. If we all waited until we “made it”, no one would probably do anything for anybody else.” - Daniel Jakubisin “There's a part of fitness that is social than just physical that the younger generations are grabbing on to.” - Nate LeBlanc “If you value your education, health, and other things, then won't you be doing more?” - Juliana Scheidhauer “In business, you could see a lot of things you've accomplished along the way but it's not what a lot of people think it is. It's not always cool and amazing or newsworthy. Every day is different. It's hard work. It's physical labor. It's long hours. That's not what you are going to see on social media.” - Juliana Scheidhauer Follow Juliana Scheidhauer! Nowadays, more and more people are starting to talk about wanting to do real estate, but more and more of those same people actually never do it. Is it because they don't really want to do this in the first place? Or is it because they're just not as committed as the industry needs them to be? Whatever that is, the real estate industry is truly a different kind of work, which can either and even both be fulfilling and/or overwhelming. Without a strong foundation of commitment towards what you really want to do, you can really find yourself getting lost in its wide space. At first, even today's guest thought it would be easy, but then he was welcomed by the challenge it required on his mental capacity. But because he knew what he wanted, he changed his mindset and did what was needed for him to be able to achieve his dream. He just showed up, and now, here he is. Tune into this week's episode to find out how you can also do the same! Aside from being the owner of BTB Speed & Agility, Tony Daniels—as his Instagram handle shows—is a full-time Firefighter in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a real estate investor. He's been putting fires out since nine years ago and has been hitting real estate pretty hard as he overcame obstacles that tried to hinder his way. Why do you need to listen to today's episode? Understand the truth about how hard real estate is going to be and why the secret sauce lies in all the boring work in this industry; Recognize the importance of having the right coach for the right thing of concern; and Find out how real estate can serve as your golden ticket toward having more time to actually live your life with your loved ones “Find a mentor from the beginning…Not everyone's journey is the same. Know your journey; know your reason for wanting to get out…I think real estate is the golden ticket.” – Tony Daniels. Today's Topic: 01:05 – “I'm just gonna give my take on things, and hopefully, it can help one person. That's kind of my goal. I've always been a helper.” Tony shares how he got into personal training and the fire department. 06:45 – “I was more skeptical. Like, if this is that easy, why doesn't everyone do it?” Tony talks about the journey he's been through as he pursued real estate, explaining how Mike helped him midway. 12:10 – “I knew I needed to find that vehicle to give me the opportunity to be home more.” Love is spelled T-I-M-E: On finding a ‘vehicle' so he can be home more and spend more time with his kids. Tyler also shares what he thinks when people give too much information. 19:54 – “What was super rewarding was the one thing, and that was like, okay, all this kind of what I call noise was just super distracting. I was able to break things down into smaller, tangible processes, which then kind of opened me up to kind of start to test the waters to actually go out and start to talk about what I wanted to do.” Tony shares what his steps into the real estate realm were like after working with Mike. 23:15 – “I tell Mike all the time—I wish you would have done a better job of telling me how hard it was going to be.” When did Tony start this endeavor with Mike? What does ‘boring work' have to do with success in the industry? How important and crucial is one's commitment to earning success? 32:35 – “I was kind of satisfied that the price he gave me was really good mentally for me, knowing that I had that to feel like I was invested in it.” The importance of being transparent and having the right coach for the right thing 39:53 – “My secret sauce is I'm very, very personal, and I'm intentional when I'm personal.” Tony shares the story behind the present state of his coaching platform. 42:30 – “I know I can't be good at everything, but if I could just narrow down my focus, I could really be good at that niche.” How important is it for people to narrow down and focus on a niche? What has Tony been working on recently? Why should kids be given a chance to succeed? 54:41 – “It's kind of an additional income for me and my wife. We're kind of able to kind of do multiple things as one.” A 12-month runway: The price points and other details of work for the rental. Also, the discussion on financial literacy is not being taught anywhere. 1:03:38 – “You could walk in and immediately tell, do these people actually care about these people, or is it a business?” The different types of group homes. 1:08:56 – “Find a mentor from the beginning.” Tony's advice for his younger self. 1:10:17 – “Family…that's super important.” What is Tony Daniels' why? Key Takeaways: “To me, too much information is the same as no information.” – Tony Daniels. “What was super rewarding was the one thing, and that was like, okay, all this kind of what I call noise was just super distracting. I was able to break things down into smaller, tangible processes, which then kind of opened me up to kind of start to test the waters to actually go out and start to talk about what I wanted to do.” “It was just the process of continuing to do the boring work; that's where I struggled because of my dyslexia. It's the boring work, like sitting down at a computer for an hour or two hours, cold calling and sending texts; that's where I struggle at. But obviously, that was the secret sauce; I had to do the boring work. None of it was gonna get done if I wasn't willing to do the boring work.” Connect with Tony: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/firemanflip/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/btbspeed/ Connect with First Responder Financial Freedom: Website: https://firstresponderfinancialfreedom.com/ Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/First-Responder-Financial-Freedom Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groupsfirstfinancialfreedom YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@firstresponderfinancialfre3914

What if your life looks perfect on the outside, but on the inside you just want MORE? On the fifth episode of the Coached Podcast's new season, Coach Keren is joined once again by guest host and superstar coach Christopher Chandler to answer YOUR questions on the midlife shift - and within this context, about the question of all questions: what is my life's purpose? Together, Chris and Keren passionately advise a caller who is feeling resentful and suffocated with her life, even though her life looks perfect on the outside and relay the very steps each of them has taken to unleash their true passion and next passion in life - and what YOU can do, too, for the magic to unfold in your life. In the episode, above all the case is made that suppressing your desires will take a lot more energy than it would take to live honestly and authentically, honoring your desires and honoring your purpose. If this sounds like it might be just what you need today, we hope you'll tune in. IN THIS EPISODE: [00:02:50] Keren and Christopher revisit episode 4, and discuss the key takeaways from that last episode, touching on happiness and satisfaction. [00:06:22] Personal agency: what is it - and how do we get it? [00:09:29] The hosts take the first call, from Danny, in California, who is struggling with a feeling of purposelessness. [00:10:21] Chris and Keren discuss: Why is being honest with ourselves so hard? And how does NOT being honest with ourselves result in a feeling of purposelessness? [00:16:44] Keren and Chris demonstrate how to dig deeper so you can find out what is keeping you out of alignment with your purpose. [00:20:04] In closing, Keren posits that you are right to be scared of asking for more, because your new life may cost you your old one. But, though it may be scary, leaning into a life of meaning and into your calling is always worth it. KEY TAKEAWAYS: To change our lives into the life we are dreaming of we must first be completely honest with ourselves. This is much easier said than done. It might be easier to leave well enough alone. But if you are not living your life honestly - living your life the way YOU want to live it - it will a lot more effort to hold up the farce than it will be to live honestly and authentically In “going for it,” you will find that your new life may cost you your old one. Still: be honest, be truthful, be real, and be genuine. And ask yourself, “What makes you happy? And “what gets you excited?” LINKS: Website: https://christopherjacobchandler.com/ Instagram: @christopherjacobchandler Christopher's Soul Cycle Kereneldad.com Schedule a consultation with Coach Keren: calendly.com/kereneldad GUEST BIO: Chris Chandler is a husband, friend, brother, uncle, nutrition and joy coach, Master SoulCycle instructor, and a Regional Vice President with Arbonne International. Breathe for 30 seconds to gain control rather than feel reactive. Then lean into the emotions by trying to learn from this challenge. Alignment is one of those words that gets thrown around a lot in the world of spiritual development and life coaching. But what does it really mean? In this week's episode, I had the honor of interviewing Life Alignment coach, Didier Sylvain. Didier shares his unique take on living in alignment and so much more. It was such a fun conversation. I know you will enjoy it too! Key Takeaways:To be aligned with life means to partner with life and one's own capacity to consciously choose how we lead our lives towards our greater vision, rather than to make choices based on default patterns or trauma responses. We can move closer to living in alignment by asking ourselves creative questions such as, “what keeps you guided?” or “what's your vision you'd like to inhabit or co-create?”Our bodies want flow and choice in life, and trauma can limit that flow. The way in which we relate to our trauma can either be helpful or harmful.Different teachers use different verbiage, so with all these teachings, go with whatever awakens in your heart.Words are powerful. Respect the power of the word, but don't get lost in it. What speaks to you, will resonate deeply. You can let the rest go.One way to discover your soul's potential is through experimentation. This could be something small scale like daily affirmations to something large scale like moving across the country. Inspired action is the perfect balance between receiving spiritual signs and then following up with your skills/actions to reach your vision. Our most challenging moments are portals of possibility. By holding our vision, we remember that we're always guided even when we think the path has ended.Connect and learn with Didier Sylvain here:Website: https://www.didiersylvain.com/ Instagram: __didiersylvain__Did you know I offer intuitive readings and coaching sessions to clients all over the world? This week, we talked a little bit about golf and related it back to our day-to-day struggles at work and in life.We also discuss the concept of a five-day workweek, and lessons from life to take small steps towards bigger goals.Key Takeaways:To get back on track after feeling burnt out, tackle smaller tasks first and move your way up.Procrastination is not laziness. It's a coping mechanism. Episode Quotes:James' take on mental capacity"It's like using a battery to 0% every single time and then charging it to 120% hoping to get more output when really it just dies. Maybe that's a way that we think about our mental capacity. We can never go to 0%, and we shouldn't be charging over a hundred percent."Sean on tackling smaller things when doing big projects"I've always had this pie in the sky kind of idea to either go big or go home. Going back to what we just described of tackling smaller things, I've never thought of where it's like, just focus on something you're passionate about. Focus on something that like really works. I think that was a problem I had."
What does it take to keep working at success and staying on top of your game? Today, Dr. Snyder is going to talk about the Secrets of Chinese Face reading. He will be sharing how you can present yourself into the world. Stay tuned as Dr. Snyder is also going to share the dates of his events and details about his course packages. Standout Quotes: Emotions are very important. But to really make the most of the emotions, you have to look at another aspect of the face. That's the right side versus the left side. The right side of a person's face is their public persona. The left side is what they're like when the lights are off, when nobody's looking when they're just around. When you're in a business context, you must deal with the person as they want you to perceive them. If you peel back that persona, you peel back that mask. They start to feel vulnerable and feel threatened in some way, or get defensive. So you need to play to that person's public persona. Key Takeaways: To make the most out of emotions you have to understand a very important aspect of the face. The right side of your face is the public persona or the professional image that you show. The left side is the intimate side that you don't want others to see. Whenever you are in a business context, you must play yourself to what others want to perceive you. You must present yourself in a way that serves the other person. If you don't they will be threatened by you. Today's guest, Daniel Powers Jr., has been a disruptor for over 20 years. With a passion for helping others access music education, Powers has been on a mission to provide students with access to customized, results-driven instruction. As a result of the pandemic, he was forced to pivot from running a brick-and-mortar business to an online one, becoming part of the digital disruption of online education. During this interview, Powers shares how he carved out his own unique space in a crowded online market. Key Takeaways To differentiate, it's imperative to be unique. Even in a market such as music instruction, where being unique is difficult, being a disruptor means finding the opportunity to stand out and provide a wholly different experience. With the pandemic came immense change. For those who are willing, this change has turned into an incredible opportunity to pivot business models and create a unique value. Simply relocating a business model to an online version wasn't enough for Powers and his team. Everyone was moving online, which resulted in turning his business into the same service as every other online music school. From this, Powers saw an opportunity to create his own platform, a key differentiator in a crowded market. Through the unique platform designed for Real Brave Audio, students can now access a whole curriculum custom-made for their goals. Not only that, but this platform has empowered students by documenting their progress, providing a visible path for students to see. The homeschool market has grown immensely in the past few years, with around five million children being homeschooled. This has led Powers to embark on a mission to find those five million students and help them learn music through a powerful platform that delivers real results. A key differentiator for Real Brave Audio has been centralizing the learning process into one platform. While many online education systems require instructors to jump from one technology channel to the next, the Real Brave Audio platform has created a cohesive and all-encompassing experience for both student and teacher. Mirroring his own journey into music, Powers wanted to design a space where students could easily interact with instructors—learning through the process of recording their own practice. This platform is changing how students, young and old, can access the incredible benefits of music. Quote of the show: 14:43 “ ... In this episode of True Love Knots, we have Pete Horden, also known as Pete the Celebrant. He was a youth pastor and now a wedding celebrant from Melbourne, Australia. Being a youth pastor has always been his dream since he was a kid. It gave him a lot of opportunities to speak and talk into the mic. It was a friend who suggested to him to become a wedding celebrant. Tune in and find out about Pete's life as a wedding celebrant and the wedding industry in Australia. Standout Quotes: “In Australia, to become a celebrant, you've got to do a course certification that's not very hard, so I did that. From there, you just begin running your own business.” “Couples that marry are predominantly the late 20s to mid-30s. I would say that's the maybe mid-20s to mid-30s. Probably the predominant age group.” “Some people are at least looking forward nine to twelve months ahead before they book anything. Then, there are some who are just all over it.” “I think one of the best reasons to go into a Pre–Marriage Course is because it brings up questions that you might not have talked about yet. It gets you into a conversation that will reveal some assumptions” Key Takeaways: To become a wedding celebrant in Australia, a course certification is needed. After that, you can already practice being a celebrant. Most couples that are getting married these days are in their late 20s to mid-30s. When it comes to wedding planning, it varies depending on the couple itself. Some are already prepared for quite some time now. There are also some couples who are very messy at organizing their weddings. A pre-Marriage course seems necessary before getting married. This enables you to talk with your significant other about your plans in the relationship. This may even open up the opportunity to talk about things you haven't discussed before. This is also the time to raise your worries and concerns with your partner. When working with a team, delegation is one of the most important skills to develop. One of our main goals as managers is to unlock the potential of our people, and effective delegation enables that to happen. However, ineffective delegation can lead to frustration and inefficiencies for everyone. Today’s guest is Yuri Elkaim. Yuri is a former pro athlete, leading health expert, New York Times bestselling author, and the founder of Healthpreneur® where he helps health entrepreneurs, coaches, and practitioners start and scale online practices that create more income and freedom...and better results for their clients. Yuri and I talk about creating the parameters for people to take on additional responsibility and autonomy while meeting the standards and expectations that you’ve set. We talk about creating principles, the importance of effective onboarding, and finding the balance between micromanaging and being totally hands off. Members of the Modern Manager community get the worksheet Communication is Key, which is one lesson from Mamie’s course, The Modern Manager’s Guide to Effective Delegation. Consider what you say and how you interact. If you can articulate your process, you can delegate it to others. Elevate your time by delegating low level tasks below your paygrade. Maintain oversight as you delegate new tasks to ensure they are completed to your standards. Use an ‘early alignment phase’ for the first two weeks during which you closely monitor the work to make sure your team member learns the new expectations properly. Small, early misses could lead to big mistakes farther down. Be available for support if
"We are finding that putting people first and delivering results are not two separate goals." So says my guest today, Donato Tramuto. Today, we talk about the case for compassionate leadership and how to achieve it. We discussed so much in this very poignant and passionate interview where we each shared some very personal stories and philosophies - Donato talks about how his childhood hearing loss and being bullied sharpened his compassionate character, how he doubled down on purpose and people after experiencing his profound loss on 9/11, and how he has tailored his prestigious career to focus on people and connection first in order to lead to performance and profit. Donato shares the definition of compassionate leadership and how it shows up in action. Why we must update key roles in the organization, such as HR, CEO's, and why much of this starts with the Board itself. We speak about what Gen Z and Millennials bring to the workplace and a new practice he calls "collbovation". This interview will be all the proof you need that the most successful leaders lead with compassion, not ego. SO MANY PROFOUND GEMS you'll want to write down and keep by your workspace - enjoy! Key Takeaways:To avoid empathy overload, use Donato's Three T Concept: Tenderness, Tenacity and Tough Decisions. It doesn't matter how much you did or how much you will do, what matters is that you did something. If every person could do a little more good in the world, the world would be a wonderful place. Compassionate leadership has to be a two-way street. You must be empathetic in the face of disagreeing and in finding common ground even in the face of adversity. You have to ask the questions that allow you to understand the other person's pain. "You rent your title; you own your dignity. I've never looked at my life by the title that I have but by its purpose, meaning and problems that have to be solved." — Donato Tramuto About Donato Tramuto, CEO, Business Leader, Innovator, and Philanthropist:Donato Tramuto is a global health activist, former CEO of Tivity Health, and founder of the Tramuto Foundation and Health eVillages. He was the recipient of the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award in 2014, alongside Hillary Clinton, Robert De Niro, and Tony Bennett, and the 2017 Robert F. Kennedy Embracing His Legacy Award. In his new book, The Double Bottom Line: How Compassionate Leaders Captivate Hearts and Deliver Results Tramuto makes the case that compassion is a key leadership principle that:- Powerfully drives trust, success, and innovation;- Raises morale, builds stronger teams, and improves overall performance;- Creates sustainable commitment to an organization's mission and values.Tramuto interviewed nearly 40 successful leaders who practice compassionate leadership and reveals the best strategies from their playbooks. He then combined these interviews with his own insights, numerous studies, and original, qualitative research of 1,500 participants to unleash the measurable data and benefits of compassion in the workplace. Leadership can get lonely. And when under pressure, it's often hard to be vulnerable in front of your team members. It can feel like the weight of decision-making and responsibility falls all on you. What if there were another way. One that could create a transformative culture where everyone is heard and valued, giving rise to enthusiasm and engagement, growing a better and stronger organization. Authors Michael Gingerich and Tom Kaden co-lead the organization Someone To Tell It To, whose mission is to cultivate meaningful relationships through compassionate listening and training others to do the same. They have recently launched their new book, Listening 2by2: A Paradigm Shift for Leaders', showing how listening to stories is a powerful tool In this episode, Tom and Michael share how they strive every day, either at home or in the workplace, to listen with intention. They also talk about their book and the story of a CEO's leadership journey, where they paint a culture of listening as a paradigm shift that can create unexpected magic for an organization. It creates an atmosphere where people feel safe to express themselves and their vulnerabilities, they are heard and known better, relationships are deepened, and people are more valued. And this leads to success in an organization. "In order to listen well, you have to believe that the person is worthy of being heard. That's what we believe is at the top." - Tom Kaden Listen In Notes: 01:06 - Experiencing a powerful impact of listening two-by-two: Having two team members listen to them as leaders about some of the burdens carry as the CEOs that not everyone else knows about. It's just so healing for us. And, we found just a lot of comfort and safety. But it's just nice for us to be the ones being heard. 07:28 - Describing the new paradigm shift of listening 2by2: If we are not listening, we are not hearing what others need. We're not hearing their ideas, we're not understanding their feelings, we're not really paying attention to them, really not valuing them, really not enabling them to be the best people they can be. That's a picture we want to paint that we want to show people that listening needs to be at the very top of everything we do. 14:02 - How does listening 2by2 create that sense of safety: It helps to give more courage to whatever needs to be said, whatever needs to be shared 17:28 - How they vet the listening pairs in their organization so that they get along well and see things in common and divergent ways. 19:47 - How having different perspectives complement more and become very helpful 22:21 - Listening with intention can change culture: If you ask those you lead how they'd like to be treated, and then intentionally listen to their answers, and respectfully consider them, you will have the beginning of a transformed culture that helps people be excited and enthusiastic about their work. 25:33 - They describe the acronym LISTEN from the book: the value that we've assigned to the last letter N is Notice. The CEO in the book, began to notice his employees. And that made a huge difference. Then that also translated to home, where he noticed things about his children, about his wife. And their relationships improved. And he was happier. 27:44 - Noticing others creates an opportunity to notice oneself and the different layers to oneself that needs work 28:31 - Listening as a facilitator of change: It's exciting to see team members who are excited about what they do, who constantly strive to do better, who constantly want to be their best, and have new and creative ideas all the time because it's safe. 30:15 - The paradigm shift that happens when you become the story seeker in listening 33:31 - The huge impact leaders bring when they know how to care: To know that others know who we are makes a huge difference. 34:36 - Simplifying self-care for leaders: At the end of the day, it's all about people. It's all about relationships. 35:56 - How Tom and Michael practice self-care as leaders in their organization 38:40 - Advice to leaders who want to be better at listening in their organization: The more observant we become and the more sensitive to the environment around us, the more clarity and insight we'll find. 41:11 - Inspiring words from Michael and Tom: The best leaders lead from a place of humility. Key Takeaways: "To listen two-by-two, with 2 listeners, we have the safety of each other. In that safety, it enables us to be more open and vulnerable." - Michael Gingerich "We're trying to create this culture in our workplace that is very open, that is communicative, that is empathetic, that is compassionate. That is kind. Are we perfect at it? No, there's always work to be done." - Michael Gingerich "Leadership is about developing others and understanding their strengths and their weaknesses. And finding the combination of team members who complement each other. The best way to do that is to listen. "- Michael Gingerich "The atmosphere can be so much better, so much more fulfilling if we indeed do know one another. And they know us.” - Michael Gingerich "If you're not making empathy and compassion and listening top of mind as a leader in your organization, we can guarantee that you're not going to be in a leadership position for very long." - Michael Gingerich "Listening is where it starts. And listening is where it needs to continue. And listening is where it ends." - Tom Kaden "Sharing the weight of leadership is so life-giving. It keeps us from burning out. It keeps us from experiencing tremendous amounts of stress." - Tom Kaden "Everyone needs to tell their story. And everyone's story matters.” Tom Kaden “It's important to look at each person in front of us as someone of value, and to respect them. Because if we don't believe that, if we don't believe that they have value and that they have a voice that needs to be expressed, we really won't listen to them." - Tom Kaden Notes/Mentions: Listening 2by2: A Paradigm Shift for Leaders (That's When the Magic Happens!) by Tom Kaden and Michael Gingerich: https://www.amazon.com/Listening-2by2-Paradigm-Leaders-Happens-ebook/dp/B09LYSW6LX One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard: https://www.kenblanchard.com/Store/The-New-One-Minute-Manager Connect with Michael Gingerich and Tom Kaden: SomeoneToTellItTo: https://someonetotellitto.org/ Connect with Raquel Ark: www.listeningalchemy.com Mobile: + 491732340722 contact@listeningalchemy.com LinkedIn

One of the best things you can do for your business as it evolves and your life changes is stepping back and asking: “What can you remove yourself from?” ⭐️ Give yourself permission: to do less out of obligation and spend more time doing things out of love and joy.

Paul is joined by Scott Carson from Australia, to talk about the concept of being two flies on the wall - observing peoples' conversations (and songs) about this that and the other and sharing the common love of people. KEY TAKEAWAYS To meet somebody instantly and enjoy the connection and feel it in your heart makes you know you're on the right path, makes you know you're part of something that's worth being a part of. Like Johnny Cash, I only wear black, but I have a big yellow smiley on the front; sunshine emerging from the darkness, ‘cause the light shines brightest in our darkest moments. Feelings are here to help us, they're emotions that help guide us on the opportunity of life. What's making me feel uncomfortable and untrusted? That's OK, just notice because you're no longer thinking, you're feeling. When you're feeling you're vibrating higher because you're not stuck in your head. There's nothing better than sharing with somebody how you're feeling because you connect into them. As we head into 2022 we're looking at the opportunity that is to focus our investment, how are you going to invest you, I'm going to invest in people, people are amazing. I've never met anybody that hasn't added value to my life. Even if they're teaching me what I don't like they're still showing me what I don't want. BEST MOMENTS ‘It's time to reconnect, to bridge that gap, the time is now, and it starts with a smile.' ‘The dance of life is magnificent and it's so much better when we embrace the lessons and our partners.' ‘I don't measure my life in minutes and hours, I measure it in moments. Some of them haven't been easy but they're moments in time and I love those moments in time.' ‘We deserve to be open to the opportunity to love one another, even when we're frustrated.' In this episode, Jerry Bradshaw discusses: The differences between hard and soft surface tracking (see episode 53 for more on hard surface tracking). Advantages of soft surface tracking. Having multiple ways to reward a dog during tracking. The importance of variation and its relationship to hope. Key Takeaways: To start, begin in shorter grass. Taller grass will hold human scent more than short, manicured grass. Think of your track as a story with a beginning, middle, and end. It is important that the dog is engaged at every part of the story, or track, and not just anticipating the end. It is important to know where your tracks are and to train yourself to be a less intrusive handler. Unpredictability increases intensity and focus on the track, especially as you increase the distance and spread in your track. "The unpredictability of when the reward is going to come is going to keep the dog pinned into the track and concentrating on every aspect of the length of that track." — Jerry Bradshaw Get Jerry's book Controlled Aggression on Amazon.com Contact Jerry: Website: controlledaggressionpodcast.com Email: JBradshaw@TarheelCanine.com Tarheel Canine Training: www.tarheelcanine.com Youtube: tarheelcanine Twitter: @tarheelcanine Instagram: @tarheelk9 Facebook: TarheelCanineTraining Protection Sports Website: psak9-as.org Patreon: patreon.com/controlledaggression Slideshare: Tarheel Canine Calendly: https://calendly.com/tarheelcanine Sponsors: ALM K9 Equipment: almk9equipment.com PSA & American Schutzhund: psak9-as.org Tarheel Canine: tarheelcanine.com Train Hard, train smart, be safe. How do you make an idea come to life? How do you create something that compels people to talk about it and keep coming back for more? Joe Brumm, film director and writer of the popular children's TV show, Bluey, speaks on what it takes to make great kids' movies and shows while creating remarkable experiences for both children and their parents. Joe shares his candid thoughts on the experience of creating and filming Bluey, the difference between an audience and a community, and how Bluey has inspired cultural change. He also sheds light on the benefits of integrating playfulness in the development of business ideas and offers tips for being playful in your creative process. As a parent and a creative, Joe Brumm finds great joy in providing comedic entertainment and escapism to kids and families, especially those that are going through the lowest of lows in life. Kids' shows always surprise us with bits of wisdom and humour and Bluey is no exception to that! If there's one thing Bluey can remind you of it's that life is crazy, but the craziness won't last forever.Listen in to learn why people are compelled to talk about Bluey and how Joe keeps refining his creative endeavours.Key Takeaways · To make kids' entertainment relatable and engaging, Joe finds great value in being realistic about how kids play, talk, and use their imagination in real life, while also incorporating different aspects of parenting.· 95% of Joe's writing is art imitating life, inspired from real experiences from his own life, many of which happen to be super relatable to other families.· If you're going to create anything, you have to understand the negative and positive feedback and not become too attached to either. Audience feedback is important, but don't let every negative opinion discourage you.· Play with your ideas! Explore different directions they can go in without judgement and forced structure. Eventually, you'll develop a thread or a story around your idea.· Joe relies on meditation and trust to keep fuelling his creative drive. · Connecting with the people on your team is very important for a project's success. When the people, place, and project come together, it really shows in the final product.Remarkable Quotes:[18:08] Just having an escape from reality is just needed sometimes… It's only seven minutes, but that's been a real privilege and I'm quite proud that it's like, you know what, sometimes our audience might just need seven minutes to mind the kids so they can get something done or just to put on hold the daily barrage of everything that can go wrong when you have kids. [30:26] I definitely think what we learn as kids, to play and to imagine and to create and to build these blocks without this rigid sense of purpose and always a goal attached to it, we're still using in the workplace… There's definitely a playful element to… coming up with ideas and refining a piece of artwork or whatever.[45:12] You've got to trust your own taste.Resources Mentioned:The Experience Economy by B. No successful person has every reached a high level of success on their own. In today's episode we're going to discuss why it's so important to connect with other people. The reality is that God created the world so that we would connect with other people and serve his children. We can see this principle in the world around us as most elements in the periodic table are useless unless they're combined with another element. The fear of financial insecurity is generally what holds us back from making an investment into our growth and into our assignment because we wouldn't hesitate to make an investment into ourselves if we new the result was guaranteed. There might be a belief that we won't get the result which creates a fear that we would have wasted the money. God created you to succeed in your life purpose, and succeeding in that purpose will require walking in faith. Key Takeaways: To create at the highest level you'll need to start thinking about who you'll need to connect with Survival, instead of prospering, is the best you can do when you try to do everything by yourself Results can be expedited when working someone else but we usually don't because we are afraid to pay the money We make unintelligent decisions when we're making decisions out of fear because our brain is in fight, flight, or freeze mode. Empathy for others starts with empathy for yourself. Today's guest, Jamie Greenwood, is going to break down exactly why this is true and how self-compassion makes you a strong leader. She reveals the truth about what self-care really means (and it is not what you think), why ambitious leaders resist self-compassion, and how that can have negative consequences for themselves and their teams. We also discuss the intersection of empathy, self-care and self-compassion, and how it affects you as an organizational leader and in your own personal relationships. Listen in as we break down exactly what self-care and self-compassion means to your success as a strong leader. Key Takeaways:To make space for compassion for yourself, you have to be a bit of a rebel and push back against what society and culture tells you is acceptable.Self-compassion is being tender with yourself in troubling moments.Without self-care, we live small, contained lives. If you are bored and/or resentful, it is usually because you have no self-care in your life.Understanding our internal landscape will get us out of almost any sticky situation. In the US, we often take English language skills as a given. But for the millions of immigrants, refugees and foreign language speakers, English can be a barrier to contributing their best and reaching their potential at work. As managers, we have the opportunity to support our language learning colleagues which in turn give us access to greater talent pools while simultaneously enabling people to thrive inside and outside of work. Today’s guest is Katie Nielson. Katie is the founder and Chief Education Officer of Voxy EnGen, a public benefit company that leverages proprietary technology to deliver high-quality, needs-based English instruction to immigrants and refugees. Voxy EnGen rapidly gives language learners the tools they need to advocate for themselves and their families and improve their economic outcomes. Katie has dedicated her career to making language learning more accessible and effective using innovative technology and research-based best practices. She earned her PhD in SLA from the University of Maryland in 2013, and she holds ten patents on the technology she designed to deliver language learning at scale. Katie and I talk about the challenges and opportunities that often exist when working with colleagues who are still developing their English language skills, how to better engage and support these colleagues, and how to distinguish what English skills are truly needed so you can unleash the potential of each person regardless of their current level of English proficiency. As a special guest bonus for five members, Katie has generously offered 30 minutes of personalized consulting on how to make their organization, product, or workplace more welcoming to speakers of other languages, whether those speakers are clients, employees, consultants, or the community at large. Pioneer Networks creates resources and advocates for policy change at the state and federal level to improve the quality of nursing homes, assisted living, and life plan communities. Learn how the non-profit provides resources for senior living communities to create cultures of care by changing the paradigm of aging. About Penny Penny is the President and CEO of Pioneer Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to changing the culture of aging and empowering a network of senior living and care communities by fostering person-directed practices and environments. For 30 years, Penny has provided education, training, and advocacy related to the care and support of older people. She worked with the Long-term Care Ombudsman Program in the Denver region, Telligen, the Quality Improvement Organization for Medicare beneficiaries in Colorado, and Colorado Access, a Colorado-based non-profit health plan. With Pioneer Network, she is working to fulfill her life-long goal of changing the culture of care and support for people as we all grow older. She is passionate about helping us value and respect our own aging as well as those that we serve. Key Takeaways To implement person-centered care, transformation needs to happen at an individual level along with organizational transformation—breaking down siloed departments and flattening the hierarchy so front-line staff are empowered. Ageism stems from fear of aging and plays out in senior living in a variety of ways. Pioneer network is working on a project with Virginia Commonwealth University, along with Leading Age and The Eden Alternative, to develop an ageism toolkit for senior living communities. Senior living communities should look at marketing materials to determine whether they might be ageist. Are you only showing people that are vibrant and able to walk without assistive devices? Are you not showing anybody in a wheelchair?

There are countless ways to create a successful video business. Often it comes to thinking outside the box. Today’s guest created a phenomenal business model by taking a unique approach to subscription services. In this episode, he’ll tell you how he did it and what to look for in your business to set it apart. Key Takeaways To create authentic and interesting testimonial videos, ditch the script and ask unexpected questions. This will lead to authentic answers and compelling videos. Don’t charge your clients extra fees for extra services. Build those into your budget from the start. Keeping your rates simple leads to more satisfied clients. About Trevor Rappleye Trevor Rappleye started his first business at age 13 and started filming weddings at age 15. Today, he is the CEO of CorporateFilming & FranchiseFilming where he creates monthly videos on their VIP Subscription model for their clients. He has worked with clients such as CVS, Home Depot, Neighborly, and more. A Different Kind of Subscription Service Trevor goes about making corporate videos a little differently. Instead of doing one-offs, he creates monthly videos. Trevor describes how this leads to more repeat business and satisfied clients. This subscription model actually creates less work overall because it lets Trevor and his team use more of the footage that they take. Mostly, Trevor focuses on testimonial videos. To make these interesting and authentic, Trevor and his team never use a script or give the customer the questions in advance. This creates a genuine response that translates perfectly to video. Ditch Those Extra Fees Trevor also never charges fees for extras. In an effort to make his costs as simple, predictable, and transparent as possible, everything is included in the package price. He recommends simply raising your overall price to cover extra costs. That way the customer will know from the start what they’re going to pay. This will even lead to more satisfaction when they see how much they actually get for the flat fee that they pay. What makes your video business different? Have you been thinking about adding a subscription model to your business? What could it be? Leave a comment on the episode page! We are coming up on over a year of this new Covid lifestyle. Not only has the pandemic turned everyone’s lives upside down, but it has totally turned the fashion industry on its head. In this episode we chat about the best 2020 fashion trends...(our favorite was obvi the face masks!) We love when a designer does a face mask; however horribly impractical they are. As we scroll through the biggest sellers of the past year, (birks and sweats to name a few) and what the industry is doing to reinvent itself. Just like most businesses, the fashion industry was hit, and it was hit HARD. They lost billions and billions and billions (you get the point) of dollars. Sadly, many of our favorite brands had to shutter because of it. ☹ Tune in as we talk about vegan "leather", the New York Fashion Week name change and Anna Wintour wearing sweats and shades working from the middle of her living room. In This Episode: [01:50] Masks are by far the best fashion trend of 2020. [03:25] Sadly, some of our favorite brands had to shutter because of the pandemic. [07:40] Moving forward, what can we do to help out the fashion industry? [16:50] Vegan leather?! Stop calling it that - it’s plastic!! [23:25] Leave New York Fashion Week ALONE!! Key Takeaways: To help struggling brands, give them shout-outs in your content! It will help introduce people to their business. Vegan leather is actually plastic – both are bad for the environment! Stop thinking you are better for buying “vegan leather.” Sneakers are the ticket right now – that’s what 2021 is all about. If you’re shopping, please support small businesses. This week, Taylor talks to movement and life coach, Phil Hulford, about the importance of presence, and why the present is so precious, the power of acknowledging fear, and how we can use movement itself to generate the energy that anchors us to a moment. KEY TAKEAWAYS To make the most of where we're at, it's incredibly important to be aware of how present we are and enjoy the now. We need to shake away the cares of the past, and release our minds from thinking about the future. Be present whenever possible. The first step in conquering fear is to acknowledge it, and to recognise that it moves with us throughout each day. If we can identify it, then we can separate from it. Movement is our own way of physically connecting to a moment - it is the generating of energy that establishes us in the here and now. Society seems to have created the notion that men must always push harder in order to grow and develop. We must recalibrate sometimes, which requires us to stop and appreciate. BEST MOMENTS 'Presence is something that I'm learning to cultivate, as everybody is. It's an ongoing thing because it's always "now"' 'Part of who I am is to explore movement as a way to heal the body - as a way to recirculate and recycle energy so that we don't waste it, but use it as a way to charge. And also to connect' 'You've got to know how to work hard and you've got to be willing to get yourself to do things that you don't want to do sometimes. This week, Mike and Jody discuss marketing and the how-to’s of building landing/sales pages. Questions Answered: How do you distinguish between what works in the market and what you like to see when building landing pages? What belief has led people to draw out long landing pages? What are some common design mistakes people make? When you refer to the offer, what is that? Is there an order to the landing/sales page? Do you create different pages for different personas? Key Takeaways: To some degree people who are like you, will also like to see what you like when looking at a landing page. It’s not easy to make a decision to spend money, sometimes you want more information. If someone is on the fence, more information is not a bad thing. It helps to have bullet points, headlines, pictures and testimonials If price scares them away, that’s ok. It probably wasn’t for them right now anyway. Understand where the best real estate is for call to action buttons - top right corner. What you are offering people needs to be clear. Make the offer enticing enough that people don’t want to miss it. Answer some common questions on your landing/sales page. Answer questions before people even think to ask them. Keep in mind that to some degree, landing page marketing is similar to what you would say face to face, convey the same message. In this episode, Tim and Randy will discuss a trend they’ve been coming across of gym owners using other companies to set appointments for them at their gyms. Basically, how the service works is, a gym owner generates leads from their sources and the third party company works on setting appointments, nurtures them, gets them to show up at the gym, and then charges the gym owner a fee for every potential client that shows up.Depending on the kind of operation a gym owner is running, it may not make sense for them to manage their entire appointment setting process. Time is of the essence, and the best option may lie in outsourcing this function to a third party expert, because the expert ensures that a gym owner gets prospects hustle free. The gym owner still has to personally work on turning those prospects into memberships, and so that begs the question, is it really worth it to outsource the process in the first place?Well, Tim and Randy will answer that and by talking about whether or not a gym owner should outsource any of their business processes. They will dive into the pros and cons of doing it, and share exactly what a gym owner should look into first before making that decision to outsource. Stay tuned for more on that.Key Takeaways:To outsource or not to outsource the appointment process (02:29)How outsourcing may not generate qualified leads your gym needs (05:28)Personal training is a relationship business that requires a gym owner to have a lot of control to make it work (08:11)Solving the problem the right way to create more success (08:48)If you’re going to own the business, own the processes (09:44)Stop looking for a shortcut or easy solution all the time (11:16)The importance of being deliberate with growth and moving the needle (14:52)Automate the process yourself somehow (16:01)Additional Resources:Marketing Talk with Fitness Professionals Facebook Groupwww.PFMarketingSolutions.com/Automationwww.ProfitGPS.comwww.PFMarketingSolutions.com/Call--If you are interested in a free audit for your gym, visit http://bit.ly/free_gym_audit--You can find out more about Tim and the strategies covered in this episode by checking out our website.--Would you rather watch the video version instead?Head over to our YouTube channel to watch this episode by going here--If you don’t already have my book, get your copy FREE here.--Connect with Tim:Schedule A CallFacebookInstagramLinkedInConnect with Randy:FacebookInstagram--Subscribe to the podcast on Apple, Spotify, Google, Stitcher, YouTube or anywhere else you listen to your podcasts. If you haven't already, please rate and review the podcast on Apple Podcasts!

#8: HONORING THE EXTREME CONTRAST THAT IS YOU Welcome to the TRUE NORTH COLLECTIVE PODCAST: SEASON 2! With co-hosts Rachel Bellotti and Jenell Riesner, this is a gathering of un-sugar-coated conversations celebrating the untold stories of everyday people fearlessly finding and living their true north. In our own search to discover and live from our TRUE NORTH, we have met so many interesting, courageous people from all walks of life, doing all sorts of amazing things to live life in their own unique way. Stories from all over the world. Stories with heart. Stories with grit. Stories with plot twists. Stories going untold - until now. This season, we continue to connect with and celebrate these untold stories of everyday people who are fearlessly living their true north and inspiring each of us to do the same. Today, we talk with Brooke Conley - Meditation Instructor; Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative Yoga Teacher; Writer; and Mama. From swimmin’ in the bayous of Louisiana catchin’ baby gaters to guiding the most beautiful healing spaces, we talk about bringing your authentic voice to all that you do, whether you are loud and boisterous, sweet and subtle, or anything in between. *note: this episode includes explicit language appropriate for those ages 16+ RESOURCES MENTIONED: Yosemite Half Dome Hike St. Jude Children’s Hospital Pema Chodron meditation Queer Eye for the Straight Guy The Clair’s or Intuitive Senses Bree Melanson Music from: https://www.jukedeck.com/ 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS: To choose a path of growth and learning to hold space for yourself is not all butterflies and unicorns. It is brutal, it is hard, it is laying on your mat sobbing, gut-wrenching, not for the faint of heart. It forces you to look inside - the only place where the answers truly lie. And when you look inside, it forces you to see ALL the dirty, dirty shit too. But when you shine a light there, you can see what is holding you back so that you can start to move through it instead of against it. Identity and labels and what we expect of people is an interesting game. We put people in boxes to make us “feel better”. And sometimes we put people in boxes that we don’t even realize we are putting them into and it is limiting for everyone. When we expect people to NOT be who they are, or we expect people to be lesser versions of who they can be, we aren’t allowing the full expression of life to exist in the world. And we limit our own possibilities in that reality as well. Strength comes in all shapes and sizes. It can look quiet or it can look loud. It can show up solidly or as a sliver of light. It can be present in contrasting experiences and in the flowing experiences. There are infinite expressions of strength, and it’s a muscle you can strengthen by paying attention to it and choosing it. Allow yourself to trust in your unique way of strength. Key Takeaways: To any marketer still feeling skeptical about AI: as Maria says, “demystify it!” AI isn’t like Terminator portrays it, nor will some robot come take your job. Educate yourself and learn all you can. Then, find a specific use case based on one aspect of your marketing process you want to resolve, optimize, automate, or improve. Using AI is a choice. Instead of spending ridiculous amounts of time sorting through spreadsheets, choose more time for strategy. Where you once manually created marketing messages for each customer, choose machine learning. In lieu of repetitive tasks that ring you dry by day’s end, choose automation. These are all byproducts of using AI. Third, as Maria alludes to, AI is a double-edged sword. It can help detach us from our very human laziness and biases… butttt we also have to be careful, collectively, to make sure our algorithms are processing all of this data in an unbiased way. We have to collect, manage, and store data – and write and program our machines – so that they avoid bias in any way, but still achieve what we need. To establish yourself as an expert and the ultimate go-to in your field, you have build your own brand that will set you apart from the others. In this episode of the Presenting, Pitching & Public Speaking Podcast, Toni talks about how to create your brand and build your following. It’s hard to be trusted, let alone be recognised, by your target market, so it pays to know them to convey your image successfully. When you stand out from the rest of your competition, it’s easier to get the attention of the people, so they pique interest on the idea, product or service you’re offering. Discover the great strategies you can use so you could build and grow your brand as a speaker when you tune in. KEY TAKEAWAYS “To communicate effectively, you have to understand how the world sees you.” – Sally Hogshead According to Kotler, the brand is “the act of designing the company's offering and image to occupy a distinctive place in the mind of the target market.” “People buy into the leader before they buy into the vision.” – John C. Maxwell Standing out from the crowd. There will be a lot of presenters and speakers in your field who offer the same speciality but in a different format. How do you establish yourself as the expert or the go-to person in your field? A unique way of communication – Have a rhythmic style of speaking. Prepare a catchy tagline which can make you stand out. The subject of what you talk about – When you speak, always make sure that you’ve got the passion and the knowledge to talk about it. The way you look – Stick to a particular look. Do you want it to be casual yet professional-looking? Should you opt for a preppy fun look? Your look is also part of your first impression and will be a part of your branding. Social Media – You can grow your fanbase online as a start. Be consistent with the schedule of your posts. Be comfortable and clear of what you stand for and what you stand against. Be consistent. Make your social media handles easy to find. People should be able to contact you. Reasonable Price – How do you become a paid keynote speaker? The fastest way is to build a brand and to set your price from the start. Know your value and your perceived value. Don’t price yourself too low and too expensive. Don’t undervalue what you bring to the table. BEST MOMENTS “Dr. Seuss have mentioned it in many episodes, ‘Why fit in when you’re born to stand out?’ and it’s absolutely true. You wanna stand out to be memorable. You wanna stand out to pick the interest of your audience and to create an intrigued way you can so people wanna listen to what you got to say.” “No two speakers are exactly the same. It could be that your content is similar in some format but the way that you deliver, it is different.” “Social media is your best asset.” “They’re more likely to buy into you if there’s consistency in there.” “You don’t want everyone to like you, you want everyone to have an opinion on you.” VALUABLE RESOURCES Progressive Property ABOUT THE HOST Toni Gargan is a Double World Record-holding Public Speaker, Mentor, Entrepreneur, and Professional Property Investor. Team culture exists whether you intentionally shape it or not. Many managers organically build a culture based on their own values. But how do you design and transform a culture intentionally - one that delivers greater results for the individual, team and company? This week I speak with Isaac Tolpin, co-founder of ConveYour.com, the #1 Microlearning platform for learner engagement. Isaac and I talk about how to build a culture that enhances results, effective meetings and investing in your team members. Join the Modern Manager community to Isaac's free course on building high performing teams and other additional resources to support your learning journey. Subscribe to my newsletter to get episodes, articles and mini-guides delivered to your inbox. Key Takeaways: To create a learning culture, you need to understand the dreams of your team members and help them grow even if that means they leave your team to pursue their next step. We are most energized when we are learning, improving, growing in exciting directions. Most of what we learn when listening to a speech or attending a training is quickly forgotten. To really create change, you need just in time learning. Culture can’t be created by events. Culture is created by a never ending positive pressure on the right levers of the business. If you’re not living elements of the culture you want to drive, you will never be able to sustain that culture. Use powerful and consistent language to refer to your culture and key values. Culture is the ethos, the unwritten rules, how people behave when no one is looking. To shape a new culture, you need to start with understanding “what is” - both the good and bad. Identify the 3-5 key levers of your business. Levers are those things that will have the most positive impact when activated. Write a key statement that captures the essence of each lever and you feel confident saying over and over again. To go beyond incremental thinking into revolutionary thinking, you need to suspend what you know (or think you know) and think expansively. Schedule time in your calendar to do this. Today we're talking about Miracle Messages in San Francisco – amazing work, amazing people! Enjoy today’s episode and keep your comments and feedback coming.ent. Enjoy! Key Takeaways: To start off, thank you for being with me on Insights. We always have great guests on our Monday shows, people who are doing amazing things for people in their communities. The Giving Back Insights episodes are a way to share what I’m learning along the way in the hope of continuing the conversation about how you and I can make a difference in people’s lives. Sometimes the Insights shows veer toward my own journey of creating a life of purpose and meaning, and I appreciate you hanging with me and the terrific comments I’ve received. Much mahalo to everyone. The impact of an emergency or terrible circumstances is always felt most deeply when it’s close to home. When it’s personal, it’s our own story. It’s also when we’re most likely to jump in and get busy ourselves, whether it’s donating, volunteering, or participating in some way that will help solve the problem. On Thursday I joined Kevin Adler and some members of the Miracle Messages crew on a Street Walk through San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. It’s a weekly event to hand out food, engage in conversations, and help people reconnect with their loved ones. That happy fella on today’s cover is Brian, and his t shirt is the slogan of Miracle Messages: Everyone is someone’s somebody. #StreetWalks @MiracleMessages The Tenderloin is a rough area; there are lots of homeless people, lots of drug use, and lots of mental health issues. It is also, as Kevin reminded us, one of MANY neighborhoods across the US struggling with homelessness. Over 536,000 people in America went to sleep that night without a shelter. The challenge is to move beyond the number and the stereotypes and to remember that each of our unsheltered neighbors is a mother, father, son, daughter, niece, nephew, uncle and aunt. That’s what makes an issue, a problem, a cause --- important to us personally and keeps us engaged. All of us came to Street Walk on Thursday to remember that “they” are us. Each of us came in from different backgrounds and for different reasons to serve where those in need are at. Some of us were challenged by the harsh reality of life on the streets, some us challenged in our beliefs. All of us came with the conviction that everyone is someone’s somebody. Brian and Kevin did a fine job keeping us all safe, helped as much by people on the street who know them and Miracle Messages’ mission as their own presence and direction. We passed out food, engaged in conversations, played some music, and recorded videos for a couple of people who want to reconnect with their loved ones. Imagine being apart from family for 10, 20, even 30 years. Miracle Messages has fostered 150+ reconnections and are going strong with over 80% positive reunions. Listening to each of the night’s crew talk about their experience at our debrief after our walk, I felt a deep gratitude for what I have in my life. That I have an abundance and can share SOMETHING with someone who needs a hand up is a blessing. I also felt a profound sense of appreciation for each person who came out that night to support Miracle Messages. Each of them came to serve and make a difference in someone’s somebody. I wanted to connect them to the impact they have so I shared a short text between my brother Tom and me that we exchanged that very night. A simple “Hello” and setting up a breakfast get together. So normal, so absolutely mundane, right? I hadn’t seen Tom in over 20 years until Miracle Messages reconnected us. I missed him terribly, and I cherish every moment we’re together. Brett, Nim, Brian, Katie Beverly, Emme, Nancy, Fernanda, Jen Kelly, Kevin and all the staff, volunteers and supporters of Miracle Messages: Thank you for giving me my brother back. He’s my somebody. Special thanks to Salesforce for providing a wonderful venue for Miracle Messages’ first annual Un-gala! Special shout out to Kevin Adler for kicking off the donations by raising his paddle to fully support reuniting a family. Major kudos to Union Square for their new partnership with Miracle Messages to reunite our unsheltered neighbors with their loved ones. HUGE thanks and love to Nancy for putting me and my bro back together. To Kevin, Jessica and all the staff, volunteers, Detectives, Ambassadors and supporters of Miracle Messages, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Remember: Always err on the side of love & kindness. This week’s episode fares slightly away from the monthly topics discusses and delved into the issue of being a first generation college grad and the lies our parents told us about money. Yes- lies. To what extent do we keep the same financial mentality as our parents- knowing full well we out educate and out earn our parents? Key Takeaways: To what extent do our parent’s financial philosophies stay with us as we get older and earn high salaries? How can we ensure that our bags match our bank accounts? To what extents do we focus on the ‘now’ as opposed to ensuring the future stays lucrative? How can we work toward changing out realities? Multiple generations may jog financially, but we must continue to sprint with determination and a smile. WE WILL CATCH UP. Education! It doesn’t stop at graduation. In this special 2-part episode, Kalika is joined by Marshall Goldsmith and Sally Helgesen, the authors of the book, How Women Rise: Break the 12 Habits Holding You Back from Your Next Raise, Promotion, or Job. They talk about women's distinctive behaviors that provide them with many advantages, as well as the habits that can hold them back in their careers. Tune in now! Timestamped show notes 00:45 Kalika is joined today by Marshall Goldsmith and Sally Helgesen, authors of How Women Rise: Break the 12 Habits Holding You Back from Your Next Raise. 01:10 Marshall's friend pitched the idea to do a more female-focused version of his bestselling book, What Got You Here Won't Get You There: How Successful People Become Even More Successful, which in turn became the inspiration to publish How Women Rise. 02:30 Women are much more harder on themselves than men, which perpetuates the concept of The Perfection Trap. 03:46 Women can rise by identifying and acting on their greatest strengths, and which behaviors that have been previously effective but can now hinder you from becoming more successful. 04:20 One of the behaviors that could hinder women from having a more successful career is the concept of really letting your job get ahead of your career, sacrificing long-term success for having a stable job. 08:15 Based on Sally's observation among her speaking and coaching tours in the US, women usually expect others to spontaneously notice and value your contribution. 12:40 The book highlights that there are behaviors that are not necessarily bad that were good to have for now, but not good when you get promoted. 16:12 The book is dedicated to Frances Hesselbein, one of the best examples of a great woman leader. Key Takeaways To bring attention to your work, you have to take responsibility, you have to step up, and you have to find a way that you are comfortable with of representing what your achievements and values are. Women in organizations tend to be valued for and promoted because of precision and correctness, where as men are valued for and promoted for boldness, big-vision, and risk-taking. Ben Greenfield is one of the country’s most well-known personal trainers, not only due to his numerous certifications and popularity, but also due to his passion for biohacking - a concept of increasing our body’s efficiency by means of taking supplements, adjusting our diet and exercise, or making use of technology without losing focus on health and longevity. Today, Ben tells us his thoughts on testosterone decline, the tips and tools he uses to keep his testosterone in check without injections, as well as the different ways he maintains his body, especially when it comes to getting quality sleep. “You want to make sure everything's unplugged. Make sure your eyes can't see anything and make sure your skin can't see anything.” Ben Greenfield In this episode, you’ll learn: Once you reach 30 years of age, testosterone is said to decline at a rate of 1% a year. Aside from proper nutrition, one of the most recent methods you can do to biohack your testosterone is by shining low-level laser light or infrared light on your testicles. Ben says it’s better to eat buffalo or bison meat than tuna or nuts for testosterone production. An herb called Cistanche acts like Viagra. It results in an increase in blood flow and libido. Not wearing tight underwear (or no underwear at all) might boost testosterone due to a cooler temperature as a result of going commando. PEMF or Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy is able to negate the deleterious effects of waves from continuous smartphone use. Chronic cardio or excess workouts may crash testosterone. Some exercises done in moderation are capable of increasing testosterone include sprinting, weight lifting particularly those largely involving legs, and HIIT or high intensity interval training. For cardio, try to limit endurance training such as marathon running to once a week to preserve testosterone. Sleep is also an important factor when it comes to testosterone production. Ben recommends a lot of tools you can use to get quality sleep. Some of them include essential oil diffusers, a full/wrap-around face mask, and even a few sleep supplements. Key Takeaways: To get the best quality of sleep, you must have what we call sleep hygiene. The room must be dark, quiet, cold, and definitely not stressful. If you've ever doubted that you can be successful with your online business, this episode is for you. If you've watched others launch their business or product and thought, "that will never be me," this episode is for you. Today, I'll share why I KNOW you'll be successful with your online business. At one time or another, we all have doubts. We think that we don’t have enough experience. Or that we have the wrong kind. We think that our platform is too small. Or that the costs are too high. We tell ourselves, “I’m not like so-and-so.” We tell ourselves that we aren’t interesting enough or that we aren’t skilled enough. We prevent ourselves from taking the steps we need to take to be successful. In short, we lie to ourselves and cripple ourselves. Lynda J. Keagan wrote to me recently with this: I am the founder of Journal Writers, the largest journaling community on Google+. For a couple of years, I wasn’t doing much. Mostly because I was afraid of success. It seemed intimidating to me. I have conquered my fears, and now I’m doing my best to go full force in offering my creative services. I responded back to her and as I often do, I knew that more people were struggling with that same fear, doubts and intimidation. I knew that many others were downplaying their own experiences, successes, and abilities, just like Lynda was. Key Takeaways To overcome the doubts preventing you from succeeding in your online business: 1. Look to your past. You have more skills, experiences, and abilities than you give yourself credit for. 2. Give yourself credit for starting. The reality is that 99.9% of people will never get their first email subscriber. They will never write their first book. They will never record their first video. Take a moment to acknowledge the progress you’ve already made. You started and that is more than most people will ever do. 3. Don’t compare yourself to others. I didn’t mention this in the video, but the biggest mistake you can make is to compare your beginning or middle to someone else’s polished end. I love what Steven Furtick says about this insecurity: The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel. Focus on your own race and run it your way. You’ll get to your finish line soon enough. It is possible to make money with a podcast. I've seen people do it. I've done it. But many podcasters struggle with this. Why is that? There are a few reasons.First, a lot of podcasters don't have a plan to make money outside of maybe selling ads, which brings us to the second problem: Most podcasters don't have a big enough audience to sell ads, and they struggle to get new listeners. So what are some ways to make money with a podcast when you don't have a large audience yet? That's what I'm talking about in this episode.Key Takeaways:To make money with a podcast, you have to have an audience.People associate podcasts with free content because that’s the way it’s always been.If you want to make money with your podcast, you need to treat it like a business, which means you have to consider what other people want and what they’d be willing to pay for.If you’ll be recommending products and services you use and love anyways, then affiliate programs are an easy way to make a little money without costing your listeners anything. If you give something valuable to people, they’re going to want to give back.Know who you’re creating for, what they value, what problems they’re having, and what they’re willing to pay for.To make money with a podcast, you first have to build an audience. It doesn’t have to be a huge audience. You can make money with a few hundred people if it’s the right few hundred people. You can make money with a few thousand and if you’re lucky, you’ll get 10,000, 20,000, or maybe 50,000.I really think only the big, successful podcasts get into the hundreds of thousands of people. Those aren’t the people I’m taking to, though—I’m talking to you with hundreds or thousands of people in your audience. Some people (read: celebrities) can launch a podcast and instantly start selling ads against it. This isn’t the case for many podcasters. You probably don’t have thousands or hundreds of thousands of loyal followers, and you can’t grow an audience that size overnight. So if selling ads is your only plan for making money with your podcast, what are you going to do in the time between now (when you only have a hundred or a thousand listeners) and the future you’re hoping for (when you have thousands or tens of thousands)? What are you going to do if those thousands of people never show up? Or what if it takes 5 years? Many Podcasters Aren’t Asking the Right QuestionIf you want to make money, you have to ask, “What are people willing to pay for?” That leads to the question, “What do the people listening to my podcast want?”I jokingly said earlier that I’ve made money in podcasting, but I’ve spent it all on coffee. I’ve had three or four cups of coffee already this morning and someone in the chat said, “You should start a coffee podcast.”Let’s say I wanted to start a podcast about coffee. The first two things I would think about are:Why would someone listen to this podcast? andHow could I make money with this podcast?I love coffee and I could start a podcast about it because I like it, but it would be more of a hobby podcast. I tend to think of podcasts as an extension of another business. This podcast is an extension of my personal business, which is helping people make podcasts. I don’t necessarily do it for fun. I enjoy it, but it has to be something that supports me so I can pay bills. Why might people want to listen to a podcast about coffee? They might want to learn what the best coffee is. They might want to know where to find good coffee. They might want to know about coffee that’s better than the coffee they’re getting right now. What could I sell that could help them reach their goal? Instantly, I thought I could sell a curated guide—The 10 Best Affordable Coffee Roasters. I could talk about how to find the best coffee, how to store coffee, how to make it, etc.The problem is if you’re only thinking about what you want. Now, it’s not a bad thing to have goals or want things. But if you want to make money with your podcast, you should treat it like a business, which means you have to consider what other people want and what they’d be willing to pay for.Asking the question, “What does my audience want?” will help you shape your content to be more appealing to them, but it will also generate ideas for additional streams of revenue.I’ve got a friend, Joe, (who does freelance photography) that I hadn’t seen in a long time, but we met up for lunch recently. He said he’s really struggling finding clients. He’s been working with some restaurants to shoot some product photos, but he’s also really good at shooting landscape. I said that he needed to curate his website to attract those kind of clients.Right now, he’s got a lot of portraits and random stuff on his site, so no one would know what he’s about. Something I noticed while hanging out with him was that he’s obsessed with growing his Instagram audience. He wants to get more paying clients, but he’s not sure how to do that, so he spends his time trying to get more followers. He even pays for a service that automatically likes and follows and unfollows other people. Personally, I think he’s wasting his time. His problem isn’t that he doesn’t have enough attention, it’s that he doesn’t have a plan for what to do with the attention that he already has. He’s not directing the attention he’s getting towards his paid products or services. I told him he should be teaching. He should be sharing what he’s learned about shooting photography. He’s not doing that. He can shoot photos for you, but he doesn’t have a page on his website where he explains the process for the clients he wants to work with. This is the problem so many podcasters have: They don’t know what to do with the attention they get on their shows.Think About What Your Audience Is Willing to Pay ForI propose that you start thinking about ways to use your podcast to direct your audience to paid products that people are willing to pay money for, like courses, books, consulting time, or experiences.I think bands could do podcasts to grow closer with their fans and to get more people to come out to their shows.Do you know something that you can teach to someone to help them make money or save time? You could offer paid consulting.Affiliate marketing is another great way to make money. If you are going to be recommending any products or services on your podcast, setup up affiliate accounts. Amazon is the easiest, but many other companies offer affiliate accounts as well. Sign up for an Amazon affiliate account and then buy Affiliate from the Mac App store to help you quickly create amazon affiliate links.Check to see what other companies offer affiliate programs and sign up.This doesn’t cost the audience anything, but these things can add up for you over time.If you’ll be recommending products and services you use and love anyways, then affiliate programs are an easy way to make a little money without costing your listeners anything.Start thinking about how you can repurpose the most valuable content you’ve created on your podcast into a different medium that people are willing to pay for. Sean did this recently with the book he wrote in July called Overlap. A lot of it is original, but he started off writing all these ideas down and then doing podcasts about them. Eventually, he turned the ideas into an 80,000 word book.I’m doing this by making an online course called Successful Podcasting, a screencast series called Logic Pro X for Podcasters, and a mini-course called Garageband for Podcasters. And as time goes by, I’ll keep my eyes open for other courses and products that I can create and sell to my audience. Maybe a screencast series about EQ and Compression; maybe an ebook about writing show notes—whatever people tell me they’re going to find valuable. People are going to tell you these things if you’re listening and asking. And yes, it is going to be a lot of work. Most businesses are. It’d be nice if people gave you money to do whatever was fun to you, but that’s not the way the world works right now. Maybe it will in the future when robots take over our jobs, but that’s not our current reality. What you have to do instead is know who you’re creating for, what they value, what problems they’re having, and what they’re willing to pay for. Then create a product or offer a service that will solve that problem for them.It might be hard in the beginning if you don’t have an audience because you might not know what problems people are willing to pay for. I started by writing about the problems I had solved for myself, then I started doing research into what problems other people were talking about. This led to me writing blog posts, which led to client work, helping other people make podcasts. I paid close attention to the questions they asked and the problems they were having.A lot of times, I would notice problems that my clients didn’t even notice, so I started writing about those too. Then I started asking people what they were struggling with, which led to more questions, more clients, and eventually this podcast and the course that I’m shooting video for right now. This all took a couple of years to develop, so don’t expect things to happen overnight, but if you want your podcast to be a part of what you want to do professionally, it’s important to keep your eyes open for the questions your audience members are asking and then create content that answers those questions. To go back to the question Kyle asked in the chat earlier—do you need to make money directly from a podcast? If it’s not generating income directly, where does it land in the sales process and why should it remain a priority?I’d say that if your podcast acts as an attention-grabber or an acquisition channel, it’s bringing people in and growing an audience while making them trust you and giving you an opportunity to sell something else to them, then you’re making money with podcasting.Let’s say you’re a designer and you do a podcast about design, at the end of your episodes, you should be telling people, “If you have a design problem and you want to collaborate, or you want to hire a designer, get in touch with me.” You should absolutely be promoting your services. If you’re in a band and you make a podcast where you interview other people, you should be promoting your merch, upcoming shows, and finding ways to give more value to people.I didn’t even go into detail on ads or Patreon, but if you give value to people, they’re going to want to give back. But you have to start from the place of wanting to give them valuable and that they want. Don’t be afraid to sell and don’t be afraid to ask.Links:Podcast: https://podcastingwithaaron.comTwitter: https://twitter.com/aaronpodcastingYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/aarondowdBlog: https://www.aarondowd.comRecommended Gear: https://kit.co/podcastingwithaaron
