He also discusses his diversified real estate fund, which targets three asset classes: multifamily, land development, and outdoor hospitality. Shane explains the different investment strategies and expected returns associated with each asset class. Additionally, he highlights the importance of balance in life and how it contributes to overall fulfillment and long-term success.Takeaways• Focus is crucial for success in real estate investing.• Diversification across different asset classes can provide a blended return and mitigate risk.• Investing in stable, income-producing assets like multifamily properties can provide a preservation of wealth.• Land development offers the potential for high total returns, while outdoor hospitality provides cash flow and attractive yields.• Consider the hyperlocal market conditions and opportunities when investing in specific regions.• Maintaining balance in all aspects of life, including health, relationships, and spirituality, is essential for long-term fulfillment and success.Sound Bites• Focus, right? What do I mean by that? 20 years ago, I was all over the place, right? Like most young entrepreneurs, 30 year olds were not super in touch with who I was as a person, right? I was grinding and spinning my wheels.• Our investment fund is centered in housing. So what does that mean by that? It's basically got three, it's a three pronged approach. Number one is multifamily.• The total return play for land development is massive. Depending upon the deal, it's between 30 to 40%. Annualized return.Listen & Subscribe for More:

In today's show I'd like to remind you of some of the foundational principles I use to grow my wealth. I'll discuss things that "always worked" rather than things that are working now. Now to be clear… this is very different from most of what you hear in the news, which basically focuses on short-term investment trends. You know... those headlines that we've been seeing so much of recently - the top 10 areas to invest in 2025, the top 5 lessons from 2024, what's ahead for interest rates or where's the next hotspot. I also discuss the difference between expectations and forecasts and provide insights into the current market dynamics and future outlook for property investment to give you some clarity in the chaos of the many mixed messages in the media. Takeaways Focus on long-term investment strategies rather than short-term trends. Recognize the behaviour gap between intentions and actions. Successful investing requires patience and discipline. Building a strong team of independent advisors is crucial for property investment success. Expectations should guide your investment strategy; they are more useful than forecasts. The property market is cyclical; prepare for downturns and upturns. Investment-grade properties are key to long-term wealth creation. Current market conditions present unique opportunities for savvy investors with a long term focus. Understanding market dynamics can help mitigate risks. Strategic planning is essential for achieving financial goals in property investment. Carter explains the different investment strategies and returns associated with each asset class. He also touches on the importance of balance in life and how it contributes to overall fulfillment and success. Takeaways • Focus is crucial for success in real estate investing. • Diversification across different asset classes can provide a blended return and mitigate risk. • Investing in stable, income-producing assets like multifamily properties can provide a preservation of wealth. • Land development offers the potential for high total returns, while outdoor hospitality provides cash flow and attractive yields. • Consider the hyperlocal market conditions and opportunities when investing in specific regions. • Maintaining balance in all aspects of life, including health, relationships, and spirituality, is essential for long-term fulfillment and success. Sound Bites • Focus, right? What do I mean by that? 20 years ago, I was all over the place, right? Like most young entrepreneurs, 30 year olds were not super in touch with who I was as a person, right? I was grinding and spinning my wheels. • Our investment fund is centered in housing. So what does that mean by that? It's basically got three, it's a three pronged approach. Number one is multifamily. • The total return play for land development is massive. Depending upon the deal, it's between 30 to 40%. Annualized return. Listen to how Liv In vision serves others and how her “foster adopted” story began and changed her life forever! Adoption took on a whole new meaning for Jessica. What began as a decision, a well thought out process, research, communication and a decision to move forward with love, Jessica and her husband adopted through foster care, their daughter who they met when she was four days old, and brought home this six day old, precious 4 lbs 7 oz gift. When her daughter was nine years old and Jessica was complaining about something she had to do with her job, she said, “You know Mom, why don't you work in adoptions and help other kids like you help me?” That was the seed that needed to be planted and her research turned into a new job at a nonprofit organization called The Adoption Exchange, which later became Raised the Future. Jessica's love for helping others continued as a Holistic Concierge Life Coach and started a new life coaching business called “Liv In Vision” serving potential and current parents of biological, adoptive, foster, kinship children/youth and teens, as well as diverse adults. For Jessica is basically moving her body, putting incense in or essential oils in her diffuser, turning on a light she loves, making sure she eats the foods that are best for her body, using lotions she loves, writing and practicing her daily rituals. Today’s guest is Freddy Lim, Chief Investment Officer and Co-founder of StashAway - an online investment management company headquartered in Singapore. We began with a market update focusing on the thought process investors can use to analyse current market conditions and the key reasons behind the decoupling of financial markets from the real economy. We then shifted our discussion to understand StashAway’s proprietary investment strategy, ERAA - namely the Economic Regime-based Asset Allocation and how ERAA can be applied to understand post-crisis recovery. Top 5 Takeaways Focus on aggregate numbers to make sense of what's happening in the market A useful way to think about the combined economic impact of lost output due to Covid-19 and aggressive government stimulus is to look at how A compared to B in aggregate numbers. It is because the aggregate stock market and the aggregate multi-diversified portfolio only focus on the aggregate loss of output versus aggregate stimulus. Money multiplier effect created through fractional banking explains the decoupling of financial markets from the real economy A key reason behind the observed decoupling is the introduction of fractional banking which made "money multiplying" possible. When one dollar is deposited into the banking system, the bank is only required to keep a fraction of the dollar and can lend out the remaining, creating a multiplier effect in the real economy. Asset allocation is the key determinant of differential portfolio returns The majority of mid-to-long term return or loss is driven by the economic environment so the act of deciding how to allocate assets into a particular sector or industry is responsible for between 80% and 96% of a portfolio’s return profile. The remaining 10–20% of excess return (i.e. alpha) can be attributed to an investor’s superior ability to pick winners and losers but this is very tough to do successfully over a long period of time. The importance of staying on course For investors who have clearly defined their investing objectives and designed long-term investment plans, it is important to stick to these plans and not to make changes based on opportunistic movements in the market. Staying invested is very key for long-term success Markets are very dynamic and very hard to be predicted accurately. All investors want to buy low and sell high but many end up buying high due to FOMO or selling low due to the fight-or- flight response. Dollar-cost averaging is a great strategy to smooth things out during periods of high market volatility and help you stay invested in the game. Staying invested is very key for your long-term success. Ultimately you got to do everything you can to not get KO’d by the market. Am I? Maybe let me know if I’m not and I can look to change things around, or if I am, just drop me a note to say, good job, you’ll find me on LinkedIn or email me at peter@marketingstudylab.co.uk. Anyway, lets meet our guest this week, Louis Grenier, the owner of everyonehatesmarketers.com and Content Lead at Hotjar (an amazing piece of software for tracking website visitors). But today we are more interested in why everyone hates Marketers. It’s easy to see why, as on the face of it Marketing is either seen as intrusive to our lives, fancy advertising or playing around with social media. But this is on the outside and as we all know, good marketing, quality marketing, a marketing orientated approach is so much more than paying lip services to something. Louis has spent a career, no a passionate obsession on Marketing and through his podcast highlights the shady, aggressive marketing world for what it is, while being an advocate for helpful, respectful, personal and above all else honest marketing. I have to apologies now, as this first question is the epitome of stereotyping as you’ll understand by Louis amazing accent - Louis What is your favourite wine?   Takeaways - Focus on understanding your audience first and the go from there. Everything stems from understanding your target market, what they want and why. If you don't do this ask yourself, where should I start instead – I’m pretty sure you won’t be left with many, if any other options. - This leads nicely onto where to start on your road to success, which would be interviewing five customers, digging deep into their actual customer journey, from the moment they realised they had a problem to the point of purchase and work from there. From this you’ll be able to discover a lot more about your customers than just ‘what’ they purchased, you’ll be digging into the ‘why’! - If you want to avoid the shady and aggressive marketing tactics simply do as Louis says – If you wouldn't do it to your friends, then don’t do it!   Top Tip - The 4C's of Marketing Communication: Consistency Think of a brand or a company or a product or a service. These may change over time. What they offer, the personnel, location, logo, etc. But one thing is for sure, whatever you are thinking of will have resonated with you for their consistency in approach. And by maintaining this consistency, they have become memorable to you. A consistent message will eventually break through the myriad of communication noise we have around us becoming more noticeable, memorable, with a recollection for what they offer becoming easier over time. The whistle at the end of a fast food chains advert, the chime made when a computer processor is mentioned and of course – Meercats. All of these, although I haven’t mentioned their company names are instantly recognizable because of their consistent and yes, something annoying approach to communication.   Music Featured on this Podcast:Sleepy in the Garden Lobo Loco www.musikbrause.deCreative Commons License

Get out your notebooks for this insightful episode about building a high caliber sales career with Sales Manager and Regional Vice President at Salesforce, Garner White.  We discuss the many challenges that are common in a sales career, the importance of setting attainable sales goals and of course, smash some serious myths.   Takeaways Focus on doing the little things well. That's the best way to do the good things well. Set simple sub-goals and check back in on them after a short period of time to stay on top of them. Be realistic with your goals and metrics. It's okay to have big goals but in order to get there, set realistic, smaller ones. Remember, there are other ways of building value other than dollars. You can also build value through developing lists and databases. Be transparent about your current marketing situation. Don't pretend to be at step 10 if you're only at step one. Know your buyer, the areas your people are at and the things they can relate to. You've always got to be on your game. Keep you skills sharp. It takes a lot of hard work and endurance and it's not an overnight success. Research and know your client's business so you can provide intent and context with your conversation. It's hard to sell to them if you don't know anything about them. Courage isn't fun. It's okay to be scared or nervous but courage is the decision to give it your all despite your doubts of success. Learn to work with others as a team; it helps keep you accountable and creates a much better work environment. You're not going to be successful as a lone wolf. Associate yourself with positive, like-minded people. Avoid toxic mentalities and tendencies to complain.   Links Twitter: @gwhite415 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/garner-white-b312294/ Hard Corps Marketing Group: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/8671404

Speaking and in attendance were Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Charlie Munger and many more, so on this episode I am going back through my notes to deliver the takeaways and key points to you. Throughout the meeting, they got into issues like the concept of making money with money instead of time, why you should specialize, why you must be a constant, life-long learner, why good health is essential and should be a priority, as it will affect everything else that you try to do, and why you should do what you want to do NOW instead of waiting for the perfect time. “College degrees are fine, but what are you learning RIGHT NOW?” - Tai Lopez (click to tweet) Points to Keep In Mind One of the definitions of investing is the ability to make money with money Most people only make money with time, but making it with money is infinitely scaleable You have to understand the basic fundamentals before getting into advanced topics You can’t be good at everything, you MUST specialize Experiment, find what you’re good at, and then double down on that Problems will not go away if left alone, they will only get worse College degrees are fine, but what are you learning right now? You don’t need a lot of wins to make a lot of money, you just need a few good ones If you let your health go down, it will negatively affect the rest of what you’re trying to do When you pick your career, don’t pick entirely based on money, pick based on your interest Be cautious when making investments based on EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization) Capitalism will always hurt a few while benefitting society as a whole Every type of society has pros and cons Never tell anyone about your problems. 90% of people don’t care, and the other 10% that do care are glad you have them The 7-Takeaways Focus on your circle of competence- what you KNOW you’re good at When a problem arises, in any situation, deal with it quickly A life of continuous learning is a life that’s well-lived. The more you learn the more you earn You can’t catch all the investments. Know that you will miss some, and be ok with that While you do learn new things, be sure not to unlearn the old principles Keep your physical body in good shape, otherwise it will negatively affect the rest of what you do If you have something to do, don’t wait! Full Notes https://www.salestuners.com/jonathan-parrott/ Takeaways Focus on Discovery: It’s not in the end zone that sales are lost, but rather at the start of the game. Your goal as a salesperson at the simplest level is to connect what you have with what a person is trying to accomplish. A lot of that starts early in the relationship as you seek to discover what it is that is driving that person. What is it they want to do? How can you help them do it? Learning as much as possible about a potential client on the front end pays dividends as you work toward closing the sale. Engage Where Your Prospect Is: E-mail has its place, but anyone who has ever accidentally hit “reply all” or inaccurately interpreted someone’s written tone can testify. E-mail is not the most conducive setting for building a strong, lasting relationship with someone. Since sales is rooted in working with humans, finding ways to engage with prospects is often more successful using other methods than e-mail. Whether that means picking up the phone, scheduling an in-person meeting or even striking up a conversation online about a relevant blog post, finding ways to personalize and humanize yourself will set you apart from the crowd. The best thing to keep in mind is to engage in real conversations with real people despite the platform you use to do it. Stay the Course: Everyone loses a sale from time to time. What matters is that you get back on the horse. What matters is what you learn from that experience. Instead of feeling stuck in a rut, try to focus on how it feels to be successful. Try to keep your eyes on the prize by staying level-headed amid the stressful times and you will persevere. Because there will be mountains and hurdles. There will be tough quarters or months. Staying the course amid those trying times will make you a stronger, wiser salesperson in the long run. Have you ever had a massive, gut-wrenching, devastating, traumatic breakup that ended a relationship before you wanted the relationship to end? Did you follow it up by an all-consuming expectation hangover? If you are a human being, chances are you have.  Most people  have at least one issue-based relationship. They attract people who trigger unresolved issues from their past. They value being in a relationship more than they value the lessons of the relationship and repeat the pattern over and over again. They treat being single like a disease, which needs to be cured immediately. Relationships are an opportunity for us to grow. To find out a little more about whom we really are. When we consider how we feel about what we do instead of just the doing, we have a clearer picture of the qualities we embody. If a relationship ended before you wanted it to, consider it a rite of passage. Embrace your feelings about it and then put a time limit on your heartbreak. Your heart can hurt but it should be full of unconditional love for yourself. Start falling back in love, but with yourself. Be kind and use your creativity as a channel of expression and healing. Today’s conversation is with Monika who dares to dream and love in a big way. She moved to a foreign country and a 3 month trip turned into a 2 year stay after falling in love. The relationship ended in betrayal. Feeling her trust is forever broken, she has decided to toughen her heart and use the breakup as an excuse not to move forward with her life. Remember on Saturdays I release my new Coaches Corner episodes. This week will be on “5 Tips for Getting Over a Breakup”. And if you want to hear about my history on the subject of love, you can listen to my first Over and On with It podcast.   Consider/Ask Yourself: Have you given yourself the diagnosis of heartbroken and feel completely stuck? Did you set a relationship goal that wasn’t realized and now you have an expectation hangover? Do you value a relationship by how long it lasts? So if it ends, do you feel you failed in some way? Is it easy to answer the question “Who are you?” with positive responses? Can you honestly say you feel love for yourself?   Monika’s Question: Monika went through an intense breakup in a foreign country. She feels her trust was crushed; she is now paralyzed by fear and is scared to take the next step forward in her life.   Monika’s Key Insights and Aha’s: She’s a people pleaser She doesn’t value herself She attaches her self-worth to achievement Her self-criticism is a habit   How to get over it and on with it: Trust herself and treat herself like the valuable woman she is Re-direct her thoughts into her improvement Improve her relationship with herself Go deeper into her spiritual practice Do things to make her feel alive and connected She should paint an image of trust   Tools and Takeaways: Focus on how you want to feel about a result rather than the outcome itself Write a list of who you are and use it to fall in love with yourself Start a 40-day practice or discipline to put down your defenses Use your creativity as a channel of expression and healing   Resources: Christine Hassler Expectation Hangover @christinhassler on twitter @christinehassler on Instagram christine@christinehassler.com

Absolute certainty is rare. If you are waiting to be absolutely certain before making a decision, you may find yourself spinning in confusion. Today’s session is with Marie, who believes she is ready to make big changes in her life, but fear and unresolved issues from a recent break-up are keeping her from taking the first step. She is distracting herself by considering multiple changes at once and it’s depleting her energy.  When we fear something we create roadblocks for ourselves. Roadblocks can be waiting for certainty, attempting to move forward before dealing with issues from the past and talking a lot about what we want, but not taking the first steps to get to it. Marie realizes she may be lingering on open issues from a past relationship. She needs closure before she is able to move forward, but she’s unsure of how to get past the breakup. We work through how Marie can use her inner wisdom to remove the residue from the past and pursue her career dreams with a clear mind. When we accept change and allow it to happen, we discover our challenges are leading us somewhere.  Read the emotional and mental chapters of the treatment plan in my book, Expectation Hangover, to gain a deeper understanding on grieving and closure. If you want to get unstuck join me on January 8th - 10th for my “for women only” Winter Retreat.     Consider/Ask Yourself: Are you waiting to do something until you are completely sure? Are you attempting to make too many decisions at once and not making progress on any of them? Are you a creative person who feels the need to do everything all at once? Are you still wanting something from a previous relationship and are unable to move on until you get it?   Marie’s Question: Marie feels she is in a rut and wants to make a big move, including getting over her last relationship. She is a motivated person but has a fear of moving forward.   Marie’s Key Insights and Aha’s: She wants to feel certain about something before she moves forward She’s trying to do too many things at once She’s making a reactive choice and not a proactive one  She needs other people’s opinions Listening to her intuition will help her move on   How to get over it and on with it: Clean up old residue first before moving forward Focus on one thing at a time Own the part you played in the relationship Listen to your intuition   Tools and Takeaways: Focus on the problem or the question you don’t want to deal with first  A closure conversation or letter should include ○ What you learned ○ What you are grateful for ○ What you forgive the other person for ○ What you forgive yourself for ○ Acknowledge the other person ○ A thank you and a goodbye   Resources: Christine Hassler @christinhassler jill@christinehassler.com 2016 Winter Retreat Expectation Hangover
