On this final headline cycle of 2025, we find ourselves looking at headlines that aren’t terribly surprising. In fact, once again, the main casualty of the world is TRUTH. Everything flows from that. What we lose we can never get back when it comes to fabrications all around us. So we start out by looking at the continuing degradation of truth in the culture outside of Christ. Then we take a page from our “willful ignorance” file, the one that tells us that the people running Australia willfully suppress the truth, just like Romans says will happen. From our “we already knew that” file, we learn that the hysteria about some sort of “Super Flu” was just that – hype. Test more, get bigger numbers. It’s still a pack of lies and here we go again. From our “we knew that was coming” file, we pull out the one that tells us that we have to cancel New Years’ events because of that thing called “global intifada”. What results were the immigration idolators expecting, exactly? And so goes the world as we turn over another day on the calendar. It’s just another day.

Think about the tree in the Garden of Eden, which deepens its roots down into the Lord. So, a tree of life would be the connection with the Lord, getting your roots down. In other words, it’s no longer in the barren land. It’s no longer in the wilderness. It’s really just talking about getting your roots down in the Lord and operating under the Spirit of Truth. I don’t really have a specific prayer strategy right now. I pray, take communion and decree Bible verses, as the Lord begins to show them to me, for the restoration of health and finances. The Lord is doing something new; press in for repayment of everything. I think the most powerful thing right now is to bring everything under the Lord. On January 1st, the brain enters a uniquely hopeful neurological state driven primarily by dopamine—the neurotransmitter of anticipation, not pleasure. Novelty, symbolic separation from past failures, and the absence of immediate effort create a powerful reward-prediction signal. Planning and imagining change activate the same neural circuits involved in pursuit, making optimism feel vivid and convincing. This “fresh start” effect temporarily quiets self-criticism and gives the illusion of a new identity, even though the brain's existing habit circuits remain fully intact beneath the surface.As novelty fades and effort begins, dopamine naturally drops and the brain shifts into energy-conservation mode. Long-standing habits stored in the basal ganglia reassert themselves, while sustained willpower strains the metabolically expensive prefrontal cortex. Motivation doesn't disappear because of weakness—it disappears because the brain prioritizes efficiency and safety.
