What if the reason you can't access your confidence, your sensuality, or that alive, radiant version of yourself…has nothing to do with how you look, what you wear, or how hard you try? What if it's simpler — and deeper — than any of that? What if the answer is safety? This episode was born from a conversation with a client who said something that stopped me in my tracks:"I want to feel sexy and confident again. But I feel so deeply deregulated. I want to transform from insecure to secure. Where do I start?"And my answer was immediate:You cannot feel sexy until you feel safe. Not safe from the world. Safe within yourself. That's what this episode is about. And it might be the most important place to start.Inside this episode, we explore:Why confidence, sensuality, and magnetism cannot be accessed from survival mode The chakra principle — why you must activate the root before you can rise into your full feminine expression The two states of your nervous system — and which one your body needs more of Why your body's most brilliant instinct might be the very thing blocking your radiance Five simple self-regulation tools to bring yourself back to safety — anytime, anywhere Why feeling sexy starts not with technique but with learning to feel safe in your own body How to self-source safety instead of waiting for a partner, a moment, or perfect circumstances to give it to youThis episode is for you if:You want to feel sexy and confident again but something feels blocked or shut down You've been in survival mode — from illness, stress, burnout, trauma, or life You feel disconnected from your body, your sensuality, and your aliveness You struggle to take up space, be seen, or fully express yourself You feel insecure and want to come back to a deep, grounded sense of self You've tried the confidence tips and they haven't worked — because the foundation was missing You want practical tools you can use right now to regulate your nervous systemA quote from this episode:"You cannot blossom from survival mode."And the truth I want you to carry with you:"The sexy, confident, magnetic woman you're longing to be doesn't come from trying harder. She comes from feeling safe enough to take up space."Ready to go deeper? This is the foundational work we do inside LOVER — my signature program for women ready to step into their most radiant, embodied, magnetic feminine self.We start with safety. We build from there. Imagine having a secret lover. Now imagine hiding him in your attic crawlspace for nine years while your husband sleeps directly below. In 1913, Dolly Oesterreich—the wife of a wealthy Milwaukee apron tycoon—seduced a 17-year-old factory mechanic named Otto Sanhuber. To keep the affair alive, Dolly convinced Otto to legally "disappear" and move permanently into her uninsulated attic. For nearly a decade, Otto lived like a subterranean ghost—cleaning, writing pulp fiction, and serving as Dolly's on-demand secret. But when Dolly's husband gets violent, Otto drops down from the ceiling holding two semi-automatic pistols... and things get way weirder from there. From the secret cross-country smuggling of a human being to pistols buried under rosebushes, the La Brea Tar Pits, a rotating carousel of new lovers, and the most outrageous legal loophole in court history, this is a story you have to hear to believe.Find Us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/c/BrohiopodcastWe Live Stream All Our Episodes! youtube.com/brohiopodcastFind us on all the socials @BrohioPodcast

This week, we're eating out with a 1989 cult film from director, writer, and visual artist Peter Greenaway. The film centers on a cook, Richard, played by Richard Bohringer; a thief, mobster Albert, played by Michael Gambon; his wife, Georgina, played by Helen Mirren; and her lover, Michael, played by Alan Howard. Through a series of dinners at Richard's fancy London restaurant, Le Hollandais, which Albert owns, the lavish meals devolve into debauchery, while Georgina and Michael's affair evolves into a plot of lust, murder, and revenge. Filmed on massive, color-coded sets and featuring costumes by Jean-Paul Gaultier and food by Italian chef Giorgio Locatelli, this crime-drama art film was released unrated by the MPAA for nudity and violence. Despite a limited run and current unavailability, the film has earned critical acclaim over the decades, as its indulgent brutality and formalist cinematography appear timeless. What if the war between men and women isn't just happening out there in the world…but inside you? What if the resentment, the distrust, the exhaustion with the opposite gender isn't a political issue or a cultural problem —but a wound that lives in your own nervous system, your own father wound, your own inner masculine? In this episode, I'm going somewhere most people in this conversation never go.Past the labels. Past the camps. Past the anger on both sides.Into union.Because I believe healing the war between the masculine and feminine — within ourselves — is one of the most profound and necessary things we can do right now. Not just for our relationships. For the planet. And I say this as a woman who loves and reveres men deeply. But who didn't always.

The police interview with Tyler Robinson's trans lover just played in court for the first time, and the confessions inside are impossible to ignore. You need to hear this before the media tries to spin it into something else. Tyler Robinson, the 23-year-old accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk at a Turning Point USA event last September, had been living with his 22-year-old trans lover Lance Twiggs in St. George, Utah. Twiggs, who went by Luna in their private messages, described Robinson waking him up the day after the shooting, pacing and crying while admitting he was the gunman. Robinson had even set up a prescheduled text telling Twiggs to check under the keyboard for a letter addressed to Luna that said he “had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I'm going to take it.” He also admitted planning the attack for over a week and talked about the rifle. The fact that Charlie Kirk's widow had to publicly beg for transparency to fight conspiracy theories tells you everything about how broken the information flow has become. Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk-music revival of the early 1980s. Since the release of her self-titled, critically acclaimed 1985 debut album, she has written and recorded numerous songs that have become part of the contemporary music vernacular, including “Luka,” “Marlene on the Wall” and “Tom's Diner,” an a cappella piece that was remixed by U.K. electronic dance duo DNA and became a major club hit. It remains an oft-sampled and covered standard by artists across the musical spectrum. Her albums, including her self-titled debut, follow-up Solitude Standing and 99.9F have sold millions of copies worldwide. Her most recent album, 2025's Flying With Angels, is out now on Cooking Vinyl to critical acclaim from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, New York Magazine, Forbes and more. Suzanne and I talk about her life, music, and her recently released LOVER, BELOVED, the critically acclaimed film adaptation of her acclaimed one-woman stage show about the life of the great 20th-century American writer Carson McCullers. And she shares the heartbreaking backstory of her iconic and haunting 1987 hit "Luka", sung through the voice of an abused little boy, but which she revealed in 2021 was actually about her own childhood trauma. This week, we're putting our Taylor Swift knowledge to the ultimate test with TWO fan-inspired games that quickly spiral into complete mayhem. First, we attempt to identify Taylor songs from just a fraction of a second of audio. Will we recognize the classics or will panic completely erase years of Swiftie training? Then things get even more treacherous.Inspired by our lobster Krista from Alabama, we take on a blind ranking challenge featuring Taylor's legendary Track 6 "whiplash" songs—the upbeat, chaotic tracks that follow the emotional devastation of Track 5. Without knowing what's coming next, we have to rank songs like You Belong With Me, 22, Mirrorball, Midnight Rain, I Think He Knows, But Daddy I Love Him, Look What You Made Me Do, and more. The results? Questionable. The regrets? Immediate.Along the way, we hear sweet messages from listeners, debate whether Mirrorball deserves top-tier status, and expose which Taylor songs we're willing to defend with our lives.Which Track 6 will we put in the top spot? Featuring Taylor Swift trivia, Track 6 rankings, Swiftie debates, fan shout-outs, Easter eggs, The Tortured Poets Department, Midnights, Lover, 1989, Reputation, and plenty of laughs along the way. What did we miss? What else would you like to hear from us? There are lots of ways to reach us, and we love hearing from you! In this special episode of book(ish), Kath and Elle sit down with acclaimed novelist Lily King to discuss her writing process, the significance of literary references, and how she explores love, grief, and human connection in her novels. Lily shares stories about her books, her experiences with the Women's Prize, and advice for aspiring writers.
Well, well, well, the month of July is here which takes us to the Lover album! Rachel has rehearsed the bridge to this song for weeks and she finally has her moment to shine in this episode!! But first, we absolutely had to discuss the iconic night that Taylor Swift was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, becoming the youngest woman IN HISTORY to acheive this honor! We also have an entire discussion on TS 13 and what our hopes and dreams are for the next album! Olivia Rodrigo is without a doubt our new shit of the week, and no surprise, Rachel cries. This album is so good though! Death By A Thousand Cuts is a very curious song, both in its production and its lore. Taylor writes from a hypothetical perspective, having been inspired by a movie she saw that includes memories and flashbacks of a profound relationship within New York City. It's the perfect inspiration for Taylor pondering what might happen if she never walked Cornelia Street again....Share with us your thoughts on today's episode by sending an email to swiftandswigspodcast@gmail.com.Leave us a written review on the Apple Podcasts app!Follow and rate our podcast on Spotify! What if the reason you're not feeling desired right now has nothing to do with him? What if desire — real, alive, electric desire — has always been yours to activate first? In this episode, we're going somewhere most relationship podcasts never go:The truth that feeling desired by your partner starts with desiring yourself. Not waiting for him to initiate. Not hoping he notices. Not performing for attention. But genuinely, devotionally turning yourself on — from the inside out.Because here is what I know after sixteen and a half years in my relationship:He mirrors your energy. Always. And when you become a woman who is lit up, sensually alive, and full of her own pleasure —he can't help but be drawn to you. That's the feminine principle. And this episode is your initiation into it.Inside this episode, we explore:Why waiting for him to desire you first is keeping you stuck The feminine principle — why you go first and how your energy leads The egg and sperm metaphor that will change how you understand desire forever What most women were never taught about sensuality (and what needs to be unlearned) Why being "too busy to romance yourself" is a trauma response, not a personality trait A taste of the sensual rituals that drop you back into your body and reignite your magnetism The one practice I believe is the most underrated gateway to desire, aliveness, and an open heart How over-functioning and mothering energy quietly kills polarity — and what to do instead Why desire lives in polarity, and how to invite it backThis episode is for you if:You feel like the desire has faded in your relationship and you don't know how to get it back You've been waiting for him to initiate and it's been a long time You feel disconnected from your own body and alivenessYou can't remember the last time you felt truly turned on — by yourself or by life You've been running on empty, over-giving, and carrying everything You feel more like his manager, mother, or business partner than his lover You want to reignite the polarity and passion without pressure or gamesA quote from this episode that I want you to sit with:"The flower doesn't dream of the bee. It blossoms and the bee comes." — Mark NepoAnd one from me:"A woman who delights in herself becomes the most captivating presence in any room." — Melissa PetersWays to Work With Me Mentioned In This Episode:LOVER — my signature self-paced program for women ready to step into their most magnetic, radiant, and deeply desired feminine self. We go deep into sensual rituals, erotic archetypes, feminine and masculine chemistry, and the art of amplifying polarity. The Page One Podcast, produced and hosted by author Holly Lynn Payne, celebrates the craft that goes into writing the first sentence, first paragraph and first page of your favorite books. If you have a first page you'd like to submit to the Page One Podcast, please do so here. As an author and writing coach, I know that the first page of any book has to work so hard to do so much—hook the reader. So I thought to ask your favorite master storytellers how they do their magic to hook YOU. After the first few episodes, it occurred to me that maybe someone listening might be curious how their first page sits with an audience, so I'm opening up Page One to any writer who wants to submit the first page of a book they're currently writing. If your page is chosen, you'll be invited onto the show to read it and get live feedback from one of Page One's master storytellers. Page One exists to inspire, celebrate and promote the work of both well-known and unknown creative talent. Fr. Mike connects today's reading from Songs to the teachings of St. John Paul's Theology of the Body. He also points out how helpful it is to track the timelines of the kings of Israel and Judah as we read from Kings and Chronicles simultaneously. The readings are 1 Kings 15-16, 2 Chronicles 16-17, and Song of Solomon 4. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. https://yt.link/quMC2B9 → thank you for the sponsor of this episode hers. Learn more about hers. Inayah on what it actually takes to stop being someone who's always ready to leave. Inayah is a Houston-born R&B singer and songwriter who first broke through with her viral cover of Ella Mai's "Boo'd Up" in 2018 (a moment that grew her following by over a million people overnight) and has since built a catalog — and a public identity — around emotional honesty, female independence, and not needing a man. Her forthcoming album is called Therapy Wasn't Enough, which is also the most accurate description of where this conversation begins. In this episode, Inayah gets specific about what it means to be a leaver (someone who, at any given moment, is already scanning for the reason to go) and what it has actually cost her to try to become something different inside a relationship with a partner whose traditional Jamaican values regularly collide with her experience as a modern American woman building her own life on her own terms. Neither of them has figured it out yet (they're not reporting from the finish line here), and that honesty is exactly what makes this conversation worth sitting with. This one is for anyone who loves someone and still can't quite make themselves put both feet in. Big love to the sponsor of this episode, Masterclass.
