When the world shut down, Maria Hatzistefanis doubled down. In this episode, I sat down with the founder of Rodial and Nip+Fab, who shared exactly how she pivoted during the pandemic, scaled her beauty empire to 35 countries, and leveraged both old-school trade shows and new-school DTC strategies to build a global brand.Maria gets honest about the reality of expanding into international markets, the unexpected complexity of going truly global, and what it takes to stay relevant in an industry built on constant reinvention. Whether you're selling skincare or software, the lessons here are universal: stay close to your customer, stay curious, and be ready to evolve.Key Takeaways:Trade shows were instrumental in Rodial's early global strategy.Digital marketing and DTC became essential after losing wholesale revenue.Maria's shift to Instagram Stories helped her connect directly with customers.Success came from listening to market-specific needs (e.g. product formulations for Asia vs. the US).Hiring local teams is non-negotiable for successful international expansion.

How size-inclusive is the bridal industry? In this episode, Associate Features Editor Ana Escalante breaks down her recent piece about her search for the perfect wedding dress as a plus-size bride. She and Editorial Director Lauren Eggertsen unpack the unfair dilemma that plus-size brides often find themselves in: either shopping for a mass market dress that doesn't suit their style, or paying tens of thousands for a custom gown because the demi couture boutiques don't offer their size. Ana shares clips of her interview with plus-size bridal stylist Alysia Cole about the bridal “fat tax” — as well as her interviews with bridal designers Alexandra Grecco and Jenny Yoo about what brands can do to make every bride feel beautiful. Plus, Ana and Lauren give their advice to any bride looking for the dress of their dreams.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

On this episode of The Kara Goldin Show, I'm joined by Samantha Gold, Founder and CEO of Motette—the fast-growing children's clothing brand redefining modern parenting with stylish, ultra-soft bamboo essentials and built-in sun protection. In less than a year, Motette has scaled 300% month-over-month, landed in more than 35 U.S. boutiques without a showroom, and earned features in Forbes, Fox News, and countless “editor favorite” roundups. Before launching Motette, Samantha served as CEO of Elizabeth James the Label, where she grew the women's clothing brand into an eight-figure business. Today, she's bringing that same scrappy, strategic mindset to Motette—building with lean systems, intentional growth, and a focus on redefining what's possible in children's fashion. She opens up about the hidden costs of scaling, how she decides what not to do, and the mindset shifts that keep her moving forward as a founder.Whether you're an aspiring entrepreneur or someone curious about what it really takes to build a fast-growth brand from scratch—this episode is packed with valuable lessons and tons of inspiration. The struggle is real, but so is the strength that emerges from it. This raw, unfiltered episode takes you behind the scenes of entrepreneurship when everything that can go wrong, does.Windsor Fair season brings both celebration and chaos as we mark my daughter Paisley's first birthday while simultaneously dealing with our third consecutive year of vehicle disasters at this event. The bus is leaking brake fluid faster than I thought possible, the shifter linkage disconnected, and we're stranded at the fairgrounds with inventory to move and a business to run.Production nightmares preceded our arrival when vendors missed deadlines and shipping companies split orders, forcing late nights and impossible schedules. Upon arrival, we discovered our vendor location had been moved, reinforcing that age-old business wisdom that location truly is everything when you're selling at fairs. What's remarkable isn't just the string of challenges – it's the resilience that develops when facing them repeatedly. The all-female crew of my mother, wife, and baby daughter are currently running our booth while I handle production and repairs, proving that family businesses survive through adaptability and teamwork.Despite everything, opening day sales nearly doubled compared to last year, reinforcing my belief that sometimes the universe tests us most severely right before breakthrough moments. When you've reached the point where your back is against the wall, sometimes all that's left is faith that this too shall pass.Whether you're an entrepreneur facing similar challenges or just someone who appreciates authentic stories of perseverance, this episode reminds us all that finding strength in struggle isn't just motivational poster material – it's the daily reality for those building something meaningful against the odds.If you found value in today's show please return the favor and leave a positive review and share it with someone important to you! https://www.sharethestrugglepodcast.com/reviews/new/Find all you need to know about the show https://www.sharethestrugglepodcast.com/Official Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100077724159859Join the 2% of Americans that Buy American and support American Together we can bring back American Manufacturing https://www.loudproudamerican.shop/Loud Proud American Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LoudproudamericanLoud Proud American Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/loud_proud_american/Loud Proud American TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@loud_proud_americanLoud Proud American YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmYQtOt6KVURuySWYQ2GWtwThank you for Supporting My American Dream!

2B Bolder Podcast : Career Insights for the Next Generation of Women in Business & Tech
What if the boldest move in marketing wasn't about being louder, but about being truer to who you really are? Nedra Rezinas joins us to challenge conventional marketing wisdom with her refreshing approach designed specifically for introverts and highly sensitive entrepreneurs.Nedra's journey from web designer to marketing strategist reveals how listening to clients' needs led her to discover her true calling. After 16 years in web design, she noticed clients consistently asking, "What do I do after the website is built?" This gap became her opportunity to serve a community she naturally understood – fellow introverts seeking authentic marketing guidance. The conversation takes a powerful turn when Nedra boldly states that "you don't have to do it all" in marketing – a perspective she admits feels almost "blasphemous" in an industry that often pushes omnipresence. By giving permission to skip video content or certain platforms when they don't align with your strengths, she immediately reduces the overwhelm that paralyzes many sensitive business owners. Her "done is better than perfect" philosophy similarly liberates clients from the perfectionism that prevents progress. We explore practical strategies for introverts to network effectively, including volunteering at events to have a built-in purpose, following a "one to two meeting rule" to evaluate groups efficiently, and creating structured environments where meaningful connections can form. Nedra's "Quiet Networking" initiative replaces unstructured "schmoozing" with intentional, topic-driven small group discussions – reimagining networking for those who find traditional approaches draining. For anyone feeling stuck or afraid to be visible, Nedra offers this gem: ask your existing clients why they chose to work with you. This simple yet powerful suggestion shifts the focus from abstract marketing concepts to concrete feedback from people who already value your work – a perfect encapsulation of her relationship-focused approach to marketing, which prioritizes human connection over techniques.Ready to market your business in a way that honors your introvert nature while still creating meaningful impact? This conversation will show you how authenticity becomes your greatest marketing asset.Support the show When you subscribe to the podcast, you are supporting our work's mission, allowing us to continue highlighting successful women in a variety of careers to inspire others helping pay our wonderful editor, Chris, and helping me in paying our hosting expenses.

Join host Justin Forman as he sits down with Jordan Raynor to explore why most biographies fail to inspire and how reimagining these stories can transform faith-driven entrepreneurs. Through the lens of LEGO's miraculous founding story and innovative AI-powered storytelling, discover how play, perseverance, and proximity to our heroes can reshape how we view our calling in the marketplace.Jordan shares his mission to create "binge-worthy biographies" that compete with Netflix and TikTok for attention, revealing untold stories of mere Christians who weren't pastors but transformed industries. From CS Lewis's scandalous past to Ole Kirk Christiansen's Job-like trials in building LEGO, these stories prove that the same Holy Spirit who empowered history's heroes is at work in today's entrepreneurs.Key Topics:Why traditional biographies are "way too freaking long" and boringThe untold faith story behind LEGO's founding through fires, Nazis, and family tragedyHow AI video technology is revolutionizing storytelling for modern audiencesThe theology of play: Why entrepreneurs need permission to find joy in their workMoving from retreat to redemption: Why entrepreneurs are uniquely positioned to engage darknessThe four counterfeit quests that distract from true Kingdom workNotable Quotes:"It wasn't the founder of Lego going to work every day. It was the Holy Spirit in him." - Jordan Raynor"We can play within the business. We can play within the four walls of the mission." - Jordan Raynor"Entrepreneurs every day say, I go into a space talking to people that don't think like me, don't act like me, don't talk to me, don't get me." - Justin Forman

Aishwarya Iyer built one of the fastest-growing premium CPG brands by doing what many startups overlook: putting product integrity, brand trust, and strategic timing ahead of rapid retail expansion. In this episode, Aishwarya, the founder and CEO of admired pantry staples company Brightland, shares how discovering a major gap in the olive oil industry sparked the creation of her mission-driven, design-forward brand. She dives into her philosophy of disciplined growth, reveals why she turned down Whole Foods twice, and explains why building a lasting business starts with knowing your customer better than anyone else. Show notes: 0:25: Interview: Aishwarya Iyer, Founder & CEO, Brightland – Aishwarya draws parallels between her personal journey as a new mother and entrepreneur, and emphasizes the importance of belief and mindfulness in the growth of and success of Brightland. She talks about how Brightland was born out of a conviction that consumers deserved better olive oil, the company's focus on sourcing California-produced, high-quality oils and how she educated herself about the category and entrepreneurship. Aishwarya is candid about her early doubts, logistical missteps, and the pressure of launching Brightland, how she landed a small but impactful New York Times mention and her decision to turn down Whole Foods (twice). The conversation also delves into Brightland's brand strategy, where the beautiful, elevated packaging acts as a “Trojan Horse” to invite education and trial. She also talks about why Brightland launched a more accessible everyday line, inspired by brands like Ralph Lauren that successfully straddle luxury and mainstream markets. Aishwarya discusses how PR, storytelling, and thoughtful retail strategy have shaped Brightland's growth, and stresses the importance of product integrity over just aesthetics. She closes with advice on avoiding comparison and noise, encouraging entrepreneurs to periodically unplug from social media to reconnect with their vision and the reasons that they launched their companies. Are you aware of the one referral opportunity you're likely missing? In this episode, I discuss a foundational strategy I like to call the Low-Hanging Fruit Strategy. Statistics indicate that your chances of selling to an existing client are 60-70%, compared to just 5-20% for new prospects. This episode is filled with insights on how to tap into that potential! Networking is really a simple concept. Often, however, we tend to overcomplicate the execution or overlook fundamental aspects of it. This episode delves into that. For more great insight on professional relationships and business networking contact Frank Agin at frankagin@amspirit.com.
AI, Longevity, and the Secret to Lasting Joy and Success What if the key to a longer, more successful life wasn't just technology or hard work — but joy? In this episode of Richer Soul, I sit down with futurist, inventor, and keynote speaker Kevin Surace to explore a powerful intersection: the breakthroughs of AI, the science of extending healthspan, and a life philosophy that flips success on its head. Kevin isn't just a tech visionary with 95 patents — he's a master of finding joy in the everyday and using it as fuel for achievement. From AI-driven healthcare to humanoid robots, we talk about the massive shifts reshaping our world, and how to thrive in them without losing your sense of purpose. Key Takeaways: Joy Fuels Success – Most people think success brings joy, but Kevin flips the script: joy is the foundation that makes success inevitable. The One Complaint Rule – Limiting yourself to one complaint a day forces you to look for the positive in every situation, opening the door to better problem-solving and relationships. Healthspan Over Lifespan – It's not about living more years — it's about staying strong, mobile, and vibrant in the years you have. AI Changes the Game – AI won't take your job, but someone using AI will. Learn to leverage it or risk being left behind. Money Learning: Kevin learned the value of budgeting, saving, and entrepreneurship early, thanks to his father's grocery budget discipline and his own teenage electronics repair business. This foundation taught him: · The importance of living within your means. · Reinventing yourself and your skills as technology changes. · Using money to invest in tools, learning, and opportunities that expand your capabilities. Bio: Kevin is the father of the Virtual Assistant and a Silicon Valley innovator, serial entrepreneur, CEO, and futurist. He was INC Magazine's Entrepreneur of the Year, a CNBC Top Innovator of the Decade, World Economic Forum Tech Pioneer, Chair of Silicon Valley Forum, Planet Forward Innovator of the Year nominee, featured for 5 years on TechTV's Silicon Spin, and inducted into RIT's Innovation Hall of Fame. He holds 94 worldwide patents and led pioneering work on: The first cellular data smartphone (AirCommunicator) The first human-like AI virtual assistant (Portico) Soundproof drywall High R-value windows AI-driven building management Generative AI for QA automation Supply-chain auctions Energy retrofits of the Empire State Building and NY Stock Exchange Links: · Website: https://www.kevinsurace.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kevin.surace/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kevinsurace/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ksurace/ Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/kevinsurace TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@kevin_surace YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@kskoolstuff Key Discussion Points: Early money lessons from his father's strict grocery budget and his own teen electronics repair side business. How AI will reshape industries, tasks, and skill requirements — and why critical thinking is more important than ever. The difference between lifespan and healthspan, and how future technology may extend both. Why joy is a performance strategy, not just an emotion. The “One Complaint Rule” and how it transforms mindset and results. How to find joy in difficult moments, including layoffs and business pivots. Preparing for a future of humanoid robots, AI-driven automation, and potential longevity breakthroughs. Where in your life could you replace complaint with curiosity? Are you preparing your skills for a future shaped by AI and automation? How would your days feel different if joy — not success — was your first priority? I've spoken to hundreds of founders over the years, but Melissa Snover's story hits different. This week, I sat down with the force behind Scripted and Nourished, two businesses that are fundamentally changing the way we approach health. From reverse-engineering 3D printers to developing patent-protected technology for personalised vitamins, Melissa didn't just “solve a problem,” she created an entirely new category. If you're building a product, raising capital, or trying to scale without losing your startup DNA, this episode has the blueprint.Melissa breaks down how she raised a record-breaking £2.7M as a solo female founder, what it really takes to create IP-driven businesses, and how to hold onto the startup mindset while navigating serious growth, governance, and FDA audits.Whether you're knee-deep in fundraising or just sick of generic supplements, this one is well worth a listen.Key Takeaways:You don't need permission to disrupt. Melissa taught herself mechanical engineering and G-code after the world's biggest 3D printing companies said “can't be done.”Raising capital isn't about luck. It's about knowing the language, doing the research, and avoiding time-wasting investor meetings.Culture is a growth engine. Every member of Melissa's team, from factory workers to C-suite, has equity, because ownership breeds commitment. The startup mindset matters. Even with 150 employees and FDA compliance, Melissa's team rewards Friday Fails. Innovation thrives when failure is normalised.Personalised health isn't a gimmick. It's the future of how we'll consume, treat, and take care of ourselves.

Their stories of resilience, risk-taking, and vision are deeply rooted in the San Gabriel Valley, and their work is inspiring a new wave of creativity and connection across Southern California.About Wendy YuWendy grew up in the San Gabriel Valley as the eldest daughter of a Chinese immigrant family. Her life experience taught her the value of perseverance, education, and community support, and she now channels that into Happy Humble Hub.About Huong ThaiHuong emigrated from Vietnam to California at the age of four and spent her formative years in the San Gabriel Valley. After building a successful career in San Diego in both tech and healthcare, she felt called to return to her hometown. Leaving behind financial stability and career security, Huong took a leap of faith, moving back into her parents' living room without a clear plan. That decision ultimately led her to meet Wendy, and together they launched Happy Humble Hub as a place where others could also take risks, pursue passions, and build community.About Happy Humble HubHappy Humble Hub is a creative “third space” beyond home and work, located in Alhambra in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley. Katlin Smith is the founder and CEO of Simple Mills, a food company that makes a wide array of delicious gluten-free, grain-free, paleo-friendly, and non-GMO foods. Before starting her own company from scratch, Smith was a strategy and operations consultant. After years of relying on processed foods because of her demanding job, she switched to a Paleo diet in hopes of reaping the health benefits. Disappointed with the lack of store-bought options for her new lifestyle, Smith started making recipes of her own using healthier ingredients like almond flour and coconut sugar. With no background in food production or distribution, Smith reached out to her local Whole Foods when she was ready to sell her now-famous Almond Flour Muffin Mix. When the chain agreed to sell it on its shelves, Smith was eager to grow her business. She went back to school to build on the skills she acquired as a consultant and develop new ones so she could expand her line of products and distribute them widely. Today, Simple Mills is sold in over 30,000 stores nationwide, and Flowers Foods recently acquired the business for $795 million, marking one of the biggest female-founder exits in recent CPG history.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

How To DOMINATE The First Moments Of A Cold Call
It's a strange kind of numbness—waking up each day, clocking in, and wondering if this is all there is. You trade your energy for a paycheck, but after bills and burnout, there's not much left for what actually matters to you. Somewhere along the line, the idea of freedom got swapped for just getting by. And while the thought of building something different feels risky, staying stuck starts to feel like the bigger gamble. Avi Vatsa is an entrepreneur blending law, tech, and marketing, with ventures ranging from a digital agency to an AI startup. He's launching a book, You Can Do It All, in December and a podcast, Founder Mode, this month. Today, he shares his journey and introduced Dial Laura, an AI voice agent for automating bookings and lead follow-up. He emphasized building systems that enable freedom—not just profit—and mastering key skills without losing focus. His message: you don't have to choose one path—you can design your own. Stay tuned! Quotes: “I build businesses to dismantle the systems that take advantage of people. My end game is financial, spiritual, and personal freedom.” “Everybody has a finite amount of time, and either you trade time for money, or you do something with leverage where you can buy back your time.” “Humans had to adapt to computers to do things with them. Now, computers adapt to humans.” Resources: Avi Vatsa — Entrepreneur, Human Rights Leader, Tech Visionary, Author, and Founder of “Founder Mode” Podcast.
