Erica Malbon is the co-founder of Malbon Golf—the game-changing, fashionable golfwear and lifestyle brand that seeks to break tradition by inviting anyone and everyone to enjoy what she calls the “greatest game on Earth.” Malbon Golf began as an Instagram mood board created by her husband, a longtime golf enthusiast. When the couple decided to make Malbon into a full-fledged brand, Erica didn't have any experience in the sports or retail industry. That said, she had developed an entrepreneurial spirit from her time as co-founder of her first venture, The Now, an L.A.-based massage business that offers luxury spa treatments at an affordable price point. Having learned firsthand what it takes to run both the operational and creative sides of a company, Erica was more than prepared to reimagine golfwear for a new generation and create a brand with a mission to make the sport more accessible. Since launching in 2017, Malbon has amassed a community of golf lovers that includes veteran fans of the sport, professional athletes, and celebrities like Justin Bieber. And they've expanded their brand around the world with locations in China, South Korea, and the Philippines.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

It's not as easy as social media influencers make it seem. You need a solid framework: Buy Right, Manage Right, and Finance Right. We explore the critical questions you must ask yourself before diving in: Are you buying a job or a business? Are you looking for cash flow or a big exit? And most importantly, are you prepared for the day-to-day grind of management? We also discuss why "boring" industries like home services (think gutters and closets!) might be the smartest investment right now, offering huge margins and resilience against AI disruption. Whether you're eyeing a franchise or an independent business, this episode gives you the honest truth about what it takes to succeed.Key Takeaways-✅ The Framework Matters: Just like in real estate, you need to Buy Right, Manage Right, and Finance Right. Most entrepreneurs fail at the Manage Right part.✅ Buying a Job vs. A Business: Be honest with yourself—are you looking to work in the business day-to-day (self-employed), or are you looking to be an investor?✅ Cash Flow vs. Exit: Decide if you want a business that pays you monthly (like a stable multifamily asset) or one you build for a massive exit down the road (like a tech startup).✅ Boring is Profitable: Don't chase "sexy" industries. Niche home service businesses often have better margins and lower competition than trendy sectors like food or AI.✅ Management is Key: You don't make money when you buy; you make money when you sell. To get a great exit multiple, you must build systems and manage the business effectively so it can run without you.If you had to buy a "boring" business today for cash flow, which industry would you choose: home services, personal care, or professional trades? Dr. Michelle K. Johnston is a bestselling author, top executive coach, and leadership professor at Loyola University New Orleans who specializes in connection-driven leadership. She's the author of The Seismic Shift in Leadership and the new book The Seismic Shift in You, co-written with legendary coach Marshall Goldsmith, where she unpacks seven powerful shifts leaders must make to deepen connection and drive results in an AI-driven world. On this episode we talk about: Michelle's first “real” dollar, early jobs at Fuddruckers and a cookie shop, and what they taught her about people and money Why high-volume, people-facing jobs (restaurants, sales, customer service) are underrated training grounds for success The core ideas behind The Seismic Shift in Leadership and The Seismic Shift in You How AI and digital overload are changing leadership—and why “productivity without connection equals emptiness” The loneliness epidemic, why entrepreneurs (especially men) are so isolated, and how to intentionally build community Practical ways leaders can rewire meetings, calendars, and priorities around connection The concept of “connection dinners” and why entrepreneurs should curate rooms where people actually get real Top 3 Takeaways Connection is the new competitive advantage. Old-school command-and-control leadership no longer works; leaders who build cultures of connection outperform by creating trust, psychological safety, and real loyalty. You must connect with yourself first. If your own cup is empty—no self-care, no boundaries, no time on your calendar for what matters—you won't have the energy or presence to build meaningful relationships at work or at home. Entrepreneurship doesn't have to be lonely. By intentionally building community—through curated spaces, small-group dinners, and regular in-person connection—entrepreneurs can combat isolation and create the kind of support that fuels both impact and income. Notable Quotes "Productivity without connection equals emptiness." "You're not good at connecting with anybody unless you first prioritize yourself." "If your most important relationships aren't on your calendar, they're not really your priorities." Worried that giving the same talk more than once would box you in - or worse, bore you to tears?I've been there. And if you're a builder-of-slides-at-heart like me, the idea of sticking to one signature talk can feel a little… constraining. But here's the truth: the talk you give again (and again and again) is the one that becomes unforgettable - for you and your audience. In this episode, I'm joined by Thought Leader Academy graduate Kelly Mallery, who proves exactly that. Kelly works in the continuous improvement and lean space, and she discovered that honing one powerful talk didn't limit her creativity, it amplified it. And it opened doors. We talk about how she's evolved her talk, why a transformer toy has become part of her on-stage brand (yes, really), and how she learned to adapt the same content for both 20-minute and 60-minute speaking slots without losing impact.Whether you're speaking to industry peers, corporate audiences, or groups who've never heard of your topic before, what Kelly shares will help you rethink how reusable and scalable your signature talk can be.Kelly and I talk about:Why one signature talk can actually increase your impact, confidence, and clarityHow Kelly transformed her message by introducing her “Resistobots” (inspired by her love of Transformers)The power of refining the same talk through multiple deliveriesWhat changes—and what stays the same—when adapting a talk from 20 minutes to 60 minutesHow your ideal audience and your buyer can be two different people, and why it mattersThe importance of opening strong and closing with purpose (no rushing just to “get to the content”!)Why props, stories, and frameworks make your message stick—and lead to more speaking invitesLinks:Show notes at https://www.speakingyourbrand.com/453/ Kelly's website: https://www.kellymallery.com/ Watch Kelly deliver a 10-minute version of her signature talk = https://www.youtube.com/live/4ytvyFXfGU0?si=BH8Z-8qt8Npt2XWuDiscover your Speaker Archetype by taking our free quiz at https://www.speakingyourbrand.com/quiz/Enroll in our Thought Leader Academy: https://www.speakingyourbrand.com/academy/ Connect on LinkedIn:Carol Cox = https://www.linkedin.com/in/carolcoxKelly Mallery (guest) = https://www.linkedin.com/in/kelly-mallery-coaching/ Related Podcast Episodes:Episode 345: Elevate Your Audience Engagement Skills with These Proven Strategies with Katie AndersonEpisode 355: What a Signature Talk Is and What It Should be Doing for YouEpisode 354: Finding and Developing Your Big I.D.E.A.Episode 440: No Need to Start from Scratch: Repurpose Your Signature Talk for Different Topics and Audiences

Want to teach your kids confidence, money skills, and resilience — all at once? Entrepreneurship isn't just for adults. It's how kids learn life skills. In this episode of The Business Ownrship Podcast, I interviewed Mike Mammel. Mike is here to talk about Mini Titans.Mini Titans is a character-building program that uses entrepreneurship as a powerful tool to instill essential life skills in children. Why entrepreneurship?Resilience Through Challenge:Entrepreneurship is inherently challenging, giving kids the opportunity to experience setbacks and learn how to bounce back stronger, smarter, and more capable. This builds a foundation for self-reflection, emotional strength, and lifelong personal growth.A Path to Abundance:A life of abundance begins with understanding oneself. Entrepreneurship pushes individuals — even young ones — to adapt, persevere, and rise to challenges. These traits become the building blocks of a fulfilling, confident, and prosperous life. How Mini Titans BeganThe idea for Mini Titans began in the spring of 2022. After losing the tourism business he had built over seven years, Mike found himself facing uncertainty, shaken confidence, and a painful sense of failure. Unsure of his next steps, he struggled to rebuild his sense of purpose — until a simple question from his young children changed everything.Sitting at the kitchen table with his wife and kids, his six-year-old son and four-year-old daughter asked, “Dad, how do you make money?”He didn't want to give them a single answer like, “You work for someone.” He wanted them to understand both paths — working for others and starting something of their own. But explaining business concepts to young kids felt impossible. So instead of explaining, he decided to show them.Together, they planned their first business: a lemonade stand. But not just any lemonade stand — a hands-on experience in work ethic and problem-solving. They hand-pressed lemons and oranges, experimented with recipes, adjusted their plan, and prepared like a real business team. The kids negotiated the selling location in a high-traffic area and even negotiated fruit prices to lower costs. On sale day, the weather was cold and rainy — their only permitted day to sell — forcing them to pivot. After speaking with the store manager, they secured permission to set up inside instead. From there, the kids greeted every customer with bright energy:“Hello! How is your day?”They practiced their pitch so they could either add joy to someone's great day or help brighten a challenging one with a cup of lemonade. After five hours, the kids earned over $300.From those earnings, they followed the three principles that continue to guide Mini Titans today:Spend a little for immediate rewardSave a portion for their future educationDonate a portion to give backThe real success came afterward — when the kids begged to do it again every summer. That enthusiasm, curiosity, and growth became the foundation of the Mini Titans program, now dedicated to helping children build character, confidence, and resilience through entrepreneurship.Tune in now and learn how to help your kids become confident, capable problem-solvers.Check this out!Show Links:Contact Mike via email at: info@minititans.caMini Titans Website: https://www.minititans.ca/Mike Mammel on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mike-mammel-0968926a/Book a call with Michelle: https://go.appointmentcore.com/book/IcFD4cGJoin our Facebook group for business owners to get help or help other business owners! The Business Ownership Group - Secrets to Scaling: https://www.facebook.com/groups/businessownershipsecretstoscalingLooking to scale your business? When banks say no, these methods can create win-win scenarios for both investors and distressed property owners.Sellers' Situations Dictate the Terms: Forget falling in love with the kitchen layout—real estate investing success comes from understanding the seller's situation. The better you grasp their challenges, the better your chances at structuring a mutually beneficial deal.Build Your Buyer List Before the Deal: Don't wait until you have the contract to look for a buyer. Build a community—like Christian's WhatsApp group—so when the right deal lands, it moves quickly.Long-Term Financing Buys Time and Options: In creative finance, the longer the financing terms, the better. It gives investors the breathing room to hold, refinance, or cash flow without pressure.Relationships Drive Revenue: Speed and communication are important, but nothing replaces trust. Christian attributes much of his success to in-person networking and repeat business from buyers who trust his word and deal quality.Power Quotes“I sell good deals, but I buy great deals.” - Christian Pombo"I'm raising gentlemen." - Christian PomboConnect with Christian:Instagram: (https://www.instagram.com/pomborealestate)Instagram: (https://www.instagram.com/creativerealestatedeals)Connect With the Podcast Host Alex Quin:Instagram: (https://www.instagram.com/alexquin)Twitter: (https://twitter.com/mralexquin)LinkedIn: (https://www.linkedin.com/in/mralexquin)Website: (https://alexquin.com)TikTok: (https://www.tiktok.com/@mralexquin)Our CommunityInstagram: (https://www.instagram.com/hustleinspireshustle)Twitter: (https://twitter.com/HustleInspires)LinkedIn: (https://www.linkedin.com/company/hustle-inspires-hustle)Website: (https://hustleinspireshustle.com)*This page may contain affiliate links or sponsored content. Send us a messageScripture makes certain that we are in a war -  a  war that supersedes any human war fought on the soil of earth – for it is a spiritual war – that is being fought against God's legitimate children, and headed up by its general – Satan. The enemy is very serious in his intentions to “rob, kill, and destroy” and his devices are masterful – so much so that Lord Jesus warned us that even the electwould be in danger of being deceived. (Matthew 24:24)Therefore, it is critically important that we pay strict attention to the Holy Spirit as He continues to lead us into all Truth – while lifting the curtain of deception. For we must realize that Witchcraft is much more than witches casting spells and using potions. It involves a sinister manipulation of minds, hearts, and emotions -all of which is intended to lead as many as possible away from the unadulterated Word of Truth that alone reveals Salvation's Promise of Eternal Life – and which is found only in Yeshua Hamashiah – Jesus the Messiah!Support the showVisit our website: https://agapelightministries.com/

Have you ever wondered why some people can walk away from a comfortable career and bet everything on themselves? In this episode, Cory and Ryan sit down with former Rutgers football player and Wall Street trader turned real estate entrepreneur, Peter Tverdov, to unpack how an athlete mindset can completely change the way you approach money, work, and risk. Pete shares how growing up obsessed with football, grinding through division one practices, and then entering a rigid corporate environment showed him he was never wired for a safe nine to five. He walks through the moment he realized he would rather be unemployed than spend another year ignoring his potential, and how he used that same obsessive energy to quietly build a management and construction company that now oversees around one hundred million dollars of real estate in New Jersey. You will hear how property management became his real world classroom, why he believes most people are naturally meant to eat what they kill, and how living far below his means gave him the runway to take real swings. Pete also opens up about bringing his younger brother into the business, building systems so he could step out of day to day headaches, and designing a life where he can take vacations, drop his kids at school, and still play the long game in business. If you are an ex athlete, a high performer stuck in a corporate role, or someone who feels that unexplained pull toward something bigger, this conversation will show you what it actually looks like to bet on yourself and build a life you own. Book your mentorship discovery call with Cory RESOURCES

In this episode, Dr. Nicole and Dr. Nick unpack what it really means to “choose your challenge wisely” in your health, family, and business. They share a real-life story of a family navigating a child's “incurable” diagnosis and contrast the challenge of doing deep, integrative work with the hidden challenge of staying in the conventional, band-aid model. They call out how distraction culture, social media, and living by everyone else's “shoulds” pull you away from your true values, your family, and your unique mission—and how reflection, aligned challenge, and inspiration (not desperation) are the real path to a life you actually love. #ChooseYourChallengeWisely #IntegrativeYou #IntegrativeMedicine #FunctionalMedicine #ConsciousParenting #GenerationalHealth #ValuesDrivenLife #MindBodySpirit #HolisticHealing #HealingJourney #QuantumHealing #NeuroscienceAndHealing #HealthIsWealth #LegacyLiving #IntentionalLiving #InspirationOverDesperation #DistractionDetox #FamilyFirstLeadership #HighPerformanceMoms #EntrepreneurHealth   3 Key Takeaways: You can't escape challenge—only choose which one you're willing to live with. Medication and band-aids come with their own set of challenges: behavior issues, neurological inflammation, family disruption, more diagnoses down the line. Doing the deeper integrative work is also a challenge—but it's the one that actually moves you toward a healthy child, a healthy body, and a healthy family dynamic. Life expands when your challenge is connected to your highest values. When the pain and effort are tied to what matters most—your kids, your health, your mission, your freedom—the challenge becomes inspiring instead of draining. If you're constantly complaining, procrastinating, and feeling “over it,” you're probably working on the wrong challenge or you haven't connected it to what's truly important to you. Distraction is stealing your clarity, your presence, and your legacy. Living on social media, comparing your life, your business, or your family to everyone else keeps you out of touch with your own values. Reflection time, stillness, and honest self-inquiry are non-negotiable if you want to stop living by “I should / I have to / I need to” and start curating a life rooted in inspiration instead of desperation.    Quotes:  “You don't get to opt out of challenge—you only get to choose the one that leads you closer to the life you actually want.” “Life isn't happening to you; every challenge is a feedback mechanism redirecting you from desperation to a life rooted in inspiration and your true values.”   Find Integrative You Radio On: Website Youtube  Apple Spotify   2 Doctors Committed to Innovating the Healthcare Experience. The key is reframing. Promotion isn't about pushing; it's about helping. Share stories, tips, and solutions that genuinely support your audience. If your intent is to serve, people won't experience your message as “salesy," they'll experience it as valuable. And the people who aren't your ideal clients? They'll self-select out. That's a good thing. What if my work isn't perfect yet? Should I wait until it's ready?Short answer: No. Long answer: still no. Perfectionism is fear wearing a fancy outfit. Your audience can't benefit from what they can't see. Put the version out that is good enough to help someone right now. Then improve it based on real feedback instead of imagined critique. Visibility creates clarity. How do I get comfortable being visible if it feels so vulnerable?Start in your comfort zone and expand outward. If video feels like jumping off a cliff, start with written posts. If posting publicly feels overwhelming, start by sharing with a small circle. Momentum comes from micro-bravery. And remember: every solopreneur you admire felt this same discomfort. It's not a sign you're doing it wrong; it's a sign you're doing it.

The Canadian consensus on immigration cratered last year. In the fall of 2024, an Environics poll found that for the first time in a quarter century most Canadians felt there was too much immigration. Under former prime minister Justin Trudeau, the country experienced one of the biggest periods of immigration growth in its history, but after the shift in public opinion, the Liberal government reversed course. Despite big reductions to immigration levels, most Canadians still think rates are too high.Today, The Decibel is looking at how Canada's relationship with immigration significantly changed, what it's meant for the country and the people who have immigrated to it, and where we go from here.Tony Keller, Globe columnist and author of Borderline Chaos: How Canada Got Immigration Right, and Then Wrong, will walk us through what motivated Trudeau's dramatic changes to the immigration system and how they impacted the country. And then, Rupa Banerjee, professor and Canada Research Chair in Economic inclusion, Employment and Entrepreneurship of Canada's Immigrants, will explain the effect that whiplash-like changes to the system have had on recent immigrants and our economy.Questions? It was there that she started a career that would make her an expert in every part of the process of brand-building—from PR to product development to marketing. Her natural talent and reputation led her to help grow beauty brands Versed and Merit before she was tapped to serve as the CEO of Hailey Bieber's Rhode. But she never abandoned what she learned when she studied STEM. She often credits the scientific method as the formula to entrepreneurial success that's gotten her to where she is today.
