In this Best Year Yet episode, Eric Thompson interviews Derek Walden, a Wichita, Kansas–based agent with At Home Wichita, who more than doubled his business in 2025. Derek closed 56 transactions for approximately 15 million in volume while raising a large family of eight children, with another on the way. He shares how shifting away from a lead heavy, grind based team model and embracing the Ninja approach transformed both his results and his quality of life. Derek describes his early years on a lead generation focused team as a hamster wheel that did not align with his values or his family priorities. Discovering Ninja Selling introduced a relationship centered model built on service, trust, and depth rather than volume and pressure. In 2025, Derek produced his best year yet by staying persistent, tracking his numbers closely, prioritizing meaningful live conversations, and building business with people who know, like, and trust him. A key theme of the conversation is depth over small talk. Drawing from his military background, Derek explains how he naturally gravitates toward substantive conversations and emotional connection, which has become a differentiator in his real estate business. He focuses on long, intentional one on one interactions rather than high frequency surface level contacts, creating an integrated business that feels natural rather than exhausting. With the support of Ninja Coaching and Coach Mark Johnson, Derek also shares how coaching helped him live more on purpose, stay inspired, and remain accountable to the fundamentals that drive consistent growth. Key Takeaways Relationship based business scales better than lead based grinding when aligned with your values and life priorities. Persistence compounds over time and momentum builds like adding cars to a train year after year. Deep conversations outperform small talk by creating trust, emotional connection, and long term loyalty. Tracking your numbers creates clarity and confidence in decision making and business planning. Live conversations do not need to be high volume if they are meaningful, intentional, and unhurried. Auto flow can be simple and personal through consistent mail, newsletters, and authentic updates. Memorable Quotes "If you work hard and do the right things, good things will happen." "I hate small talk." "When it's a friend calling, it doesn't feel like work." "This year didn't feel like a treadmill." "I believe an integrated life is a powerful life." "I was created to love and serve others." "Just relax, take a deep breath, and focus on what you can control." "Coaching helped me move from living on accident to living on purpose." "I've never had a conversation where I wished I hadn't had it." The Bowhunter Chronicles Podcast - Episode 387: He Shot my Buck Out From Under Me : Aaron Olsen Next Step Outdoors In this episode of the Bowhunter Chronicles podcast, Adam sits down to talk with Aaron Olsen of Next Step Outdoors to break down the real-world challenges of public land hunting, covering strategy, mindset, and decision-making from start to finish of a hard-fought hunt. The discussion explores balancing family life and hunting season, managing expectations, and adapting when conditions and pressure don't go as planned. A pivotal moment in the hunt sparks the core debate of the episode: while glassing a buck, another hunter spotted the same deer, slipped in, and ultimately shot it out from in front of them. What followed became a race to the buck—and a larger conversation about ethics, unwritten rules, and fair play on public land. Was the other hunter in the wrong, or was it simply part of hunting ground that belongs to everyone? Beyond that moment, the episode dives into missed opportunities, mid-hunt adjustments, weather challenges, deer movement, and spot-and-stalk versus ground hunting tactics. Mental toughness and patience are tested as pressure increases from other hunters, leading to honest reflections on luck vs skill, scouting, preparation, and lessons learned for future hunts. Topics Covered: Public land hunting strategy Hunting ethics and shared ground Deer movement and scouting Spot-and-stalk vs ground hunting Decision-making under pressure

Saying Chris Lillis is a details guy is like saying he kind of wants to win another Olympic gold medal. Lillis won gold in mixed team aerials at the 2022 Beijing Winter Games. Making a second Olympic team in his discipline of freestyle skiing is arguably more mental than physical. Tracking the details of how he eats, sleeps, trains and recovers is crucial to unlocking what does and doesn't work for him as an athlete. The data helps shape his mindset training. The key to mental preparation is visualization. Chris says, "Visualization can just be like a kind of mental imagination, whether it's in the first person or the third person. You really just imagine yourself doing that jump." Aerialists are like acrobats on skis. They ski down a ramp, launch themselves in the air and complete a series of flips and twists while maintaining enough spatial awareness to land on on snow. Jumps last seconds. But Chris says the time in the air feels a lot longer than that because of how in tune he is with every small move his body makes. Just making the 2026 Olympic Team isn't enough. "It's different when you've won before because the only question anyone has for you is, are you going to win again? My answer is always the same. It's yes," says Chris. On this Dying to Ask: What it's like to live your life with that much attention to detail The move Chris had to make to follow his Olympic dream and how he spends his summers Going from newbie to veteran. The importance of mentoring the next generation of Olympians And how to master the art of visualization like an Olympic athlete

#307 Most business owners track revenue. Some track expenses. Very few track the numbers that actually determine freedom and long-term wealth. In this episode, I break down the Top 3 KPIs almost no one is tracking and why ignoring them keeps smart, hardworking owners stuck. KPI #1: Taxes We talk about: The real difference between Schedule C and K-1 income Why "not paying taxes" usually means one of two things: You don't actually have profit Or you're kicking the can down the road in a way that will eventually cost you How taxes are not the enemy but a signal of real progress If you want to build wealth, taxes are part of the deal. KPI #2: Your Sales P&L Most people look at revenue. Very few look at what it costs them in time and energy to create that revenue. We cover: How much time you're really spending on sales and marketing Why "being busy" is not the same as being effective How to think about sales like an investment KPI #3: Personal KPIs That Actually Matter This is the one almost everyone ignores. We talk about tracking: Time with your kids Nights home Weekends off Vacations taken Mental bandwidth and margin Because what's the point of a profitable business if it costs you the life you were trying to build? Bonus KPI: Net Worth Revenue is noisy. Profit is helpful. Net worth tells the truth. I share why tracking net worth changes how you make decisions and keeps you focused on the long game. If you want a business that supports your life instead of consuming it, this episode will hit home.

Summary In this episode, Ali Damron discusses the challenges many face in their healing journeys, particularly when they feel they are doing everything right but still not seeing results. She emphasizes the importance of understanding the mind-body connection, the dangers of over-optimization, and how tracking health metrics can lead to hypervigilance. Ali encourages listeners to trust their bodies and find balance in their health practices, while also addressing the role of uncertainty in healing. Takeaways Many patients do more than they need to for healing. The brain's perception of danger affects bodily functions. Over-optimization can lead to increased stress and symptoms. Tracking health metrics can shift from helpful to harmful. Hypervigilance can create a cycle of anxiety and symptoms. The body is capable of healing without constant intervention. Trusting your body is crucial for effective healing. Uncertainty is a natural part of the healing process. Less monitoring can lead to better health outcomes. It was a historic weekend of professional golf as one of the game's greatest achievements finally came to an end. Andy begins this episode on a somber note as Xander Schauffele's "made cut streak" was snapped on Friday at the Farmers Insurance Open. Brendan joins in, remembering other iconic streaks such as Cal Ripken Jr.'s consecutive games played record and comparing them to Xander's totally-not-made-up mark. Justin Rose did make the cut and ran away with his second win at Torrey Pines, defeating a trio of players by seven shots. The 45-year-old is now ranked third in the OWGR and has played some of the best golf of his career in the last 12 months. Andy and Brendan wonder how much gas he has left in the tank, with Brendan predicting that Rose will compete in majors into his fifties. In other notes from the Farmers, Brooks Koepka finished t56 and had plenty of time on the broadcast on ESPN, Golf Channel, and CBS despite never being competitive. One of the two mules that Brooks brought onto the "ark" this week did make some money, kicking off our yearlong game of Brooks vs. Mules. Johnson Wagner also made his long-awaited CBS debut and did not disappoint, recreating shots while the tournament was still going on! The two also discuss Michael Brennan's DQ thanks to a Data Boy and strong weeks from Si Woo Kim, Joel Dahmen, and Ryo Hisatsune. The DP World Tour event in Bahrain ended in a playoff featuring Patrick Reed and ended in a wild concession that no one had ever seen before. The main event of this podcast is Andy and Brendan's recap of what went on at the LPGA's Tournament of Champions on Sunday. The event was shortened into a 54-hole event due to the course not being an "optimal competitive environment" for "competitive competition" according to some statements from the tour. Andy and Brendan tee off as they're astounded by the celebrity pro-am still being played on the very same course rather than the actual tournament. For those with tinfoil hats, Nelly Korda won for the first time in over 440 days as a result of the shortened event. There's also plenty of Illinois basketball talk at the end of this episode, as well as more invites from colleges across the country who want Andy, Brendan, and PJ to inspire the youth of America. Our guest this episode is Jeff Zeilmann, calling in from Missouri. Jeff is the founder and lead investigator of Tracking The Unknown, an independent project focused on structured documentation and analysis of unidentified aerial phenomena. Jeff approaches the subject from an evidence-driven perspective, with a clear separation between observation and interpretation. That framework was put to the test in August 2025, when, during an active investigation, he experienced an encounter with an unidentified aerial object. The event was documented at the time and was followed by acute physiological and cognitive effects that lasted several days, as well as an estimated forty-five minutes of unaccounted-for time.More information on this episode on the podcast website:https://ufochroniclespodcast.com/2026If you enjoy this podcast, please support the show with a virtual coffee:https://ko-fi.com/ufochroniclespodcastFollow and Subscribe on X to get ad-free episodesX: https://x.com/UFOchronpodcast/Want to share your encounter on the show?Email: UFOChronicles@gmail.comOr Fill out Guest Form:https://forms.gle/uGQ8PTVRkcjy4nxS7Podcast Merchandise:https://www.teepublic.com/user/ufo-chronicles-podcastHelp Support UFO CHRONICLES by becoming a Patron:https://patreon.com/UFOChroniclespodcastAll Links for Podcast:https://linktr.ee/UFOChroniclesPodcastThank you for listening!Like share and subscribe it really helps me when people share the show on social media, it means we can reach more people and more witnesses and without your amazing support, it wouldn't be possible.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/ufo-chronicles-podcast--3395068/support.

Below is a polished, thorough summary of the interview featuring Jacque Rushin and Robyn Donaldson discussing the career and legacy of Dr. Gladys West with Rushion McDonald—along with its purpose, key takeaways, and notable quotes, all drawn directly from the transcript.(Citations reference the uploaded file.) Summary of the Interview On Money Making Conversations Masterclass, Rushion McDonald welcomes Dr. Jacque Rushin (award‑winning business executive, educator, mental health professional, humanitarian) and Robyn Donaldson (2025 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award honoree for global STEM education) to discuss their celebration of Dr. Gladys B. West, a pioneering mathematician whose work laid the foundation for the GPS (Global Positioning System). The conversation explores the intersection of Juneteenth, Black excellence, STEM education, and Dr. West’s life story, captured in her memoir It Began with a Dream. The guests highlight Dr. West as one of America’s last living “hidden figures”—a brilliant yet historically overlooked Black woman whose mathematical genius revolutionized everyday life. They detail how Dr. West rose from sharecropper roots, excelled academically at Virginia State University, earned her master’s and PhD, spent 39 years contributing to government research, and ultimately developed the algorithms and modeling processes that power GPS. They also describe their collaborative effort to create the Westward Bound Program, a life‑skills and STEM‑focused curriculum inspired by Dr. West’s principles of wisdom, endurance, strategy, and precision. Through humorous, emotional, and deeply insightful dialogue, the episode uplifts Dr. West’s accomplishments while discussing mental health, technology dependence, the importance of exposure to STEM pathways for underserved youth, and how the legacy of Black innovators must remain central in cultural celebrations like Juneteenth. Purpose of the Interview 1. To honor and amplify Dr. Gladys West’s legacy She is a living mathematical pioneer whose GPS contributions transformed global navigation and modern technology. 2. To connect her story to Juneteenth’s spirit of liberation and recognition The guests highlight the “delayed recognition” of Black innovators and the importance of acknowledging hidden figures whose brilliance shaped society. 3. To promote STEM exposure in underserved communities Robyn Donaldson emphasizes equitable access to STEM opportunities so children can compete in a global, tech‑driven world. 4. To introduce and promote the Westward Bound Program The curriculum teaches STEM principles, life skills, and personal development inspired by Dr. West’s methodologies. 5. To highlight themes of resilience, humility, and lifelong learning Dr. West’s quiet determination and academic persistence serve as a blueprint for young people and adults alike. Key Takeaways 1. Dr. Gladys West is a “living hidden figure.” Her research and mathematical modeling are the backbone of GPS, impacting navigation, transportation, military systems, and everyday digital tools. 2. Her journey exemplifies brilliance shaped by humility and hard work. Born in 1930 to sharecropper parents, she excelled academically despite segregation, pursued multiple degrees, and overcame racial and gender barriers in government research settings. 3. Juneteenth is the perfect backdrop for honoring Dr. West. Jacque stresses that Juneteenth represents “delayed freedom,” paralleling the delayed recognition of Black inventors and innovators. 4. STEM exposure is vital to equity. Robyn insists that Black children are fully capable of STEM success—they simply lack exposure, not aptitude. Without STEM skills, young people risk being left behind in a robotics‑driven economy. 5. Technology should complement—not replace—human thinking. Jacque cites Dr. West’s personal preference for physical maps over GPS to maintain cognitive sharpness and critical thinking, a warning about over‑dependence on AI and automation. 6. The Westward Bound Program bridges STEM, life skills, and personal development. Built on the acronym “WEST”—Wisdom, Endurance, Strategy, Tracking—the program supports youth, adults, and entrepreneurs seeking direction and resilience. 7. Mentorship, community, and relationships are central themes. Dr. West’s success was nurtured by professors and role models at her HBCU—mirroring how Jacque and Robyn now uplift the next generation. 8. Her story resonates globally and intergenerationally. From college students to young children to adults, the principles from her memoir and program promote self‑belief, vision, discipline, and perseverance. Notable Quotes (All taken directly from the transcript.) They walk through what to track, why it matters, and how to tie metrics directly to people and roles using EOS Level 10 meetings. The conversation emphasizes that numbers should tell a story, evolve as the business evolves, and align with company goals rather than existing just for the sake of tracking. Aaron and Terryn share real-world examples across marketing, sales, customer support, and operations, showing how role-specific metrics create clarity, accountability, and faster problem-solving. From email performance and lead quality to sales close rates and support ticket turnaround, this episode gives operators a practical framework for using scorecards to see what's really happening in the business—and to fix issues before they become costly problems.   Minute by Minute: 00:00 Introduction to Ops Experts Club 01:20 The Importance of Scorecards in Business 04:51 Tailoring Metrics to Individual Roles 09:39 Creating a Wish List of Metrics 12:15 Understanding the Story Behind the Numbers 16:51 Role-Specific Metrics for Marketing and Sales 20:21 Conclusion and Key Takeaways

We are diving into my journey with calorie and macro tracking. Why I stopped, what I got wrong, and why I eventually came back to it in a completely different (and much healthier) way.For years, I used tracking to stay small, under-eat, and chase aggressive calorie deficits. I believed tracking was inherently restrictive — until I realized it wasn't the tool that was the problem… it was how I was using it.This episode is for women who feel confused, stuck, or conflicted about calorie tracking, intuitive eating, fat loss, and maintenance. We talk about how tracking can either fuel disordered patterns or become one of the most freeing tools you can use — depending on your intention, mindset, and season of life. You'll hear how learning to eat at maintenance changed my body composition, improved my strength, sleep, and energy, and helped me build a healthier relationship with food — without dieting or restriction. If you've ever wondered:·       “Is tracking bad for me?”·       “Should I be tracking calories or eating intuitively?”·       “Why am I spinning my wheels with fat loss?”·       “What does eating at maintenance actually look like?” - this episode will give you clarity.·       Why I originally tracked calories and macros (and how it kept me underfed)·       The difference between tracking as control vs tracking as information·       Why I stopped tracking — and what I misunderstood at the time·       What “intuitive eating” actually looks like after years of tracking·       Why eating without a plan kept me stuck·       How finding and living at maintenance changed my body and mindset·       Why tracking helped me eat more foods — not fewer·       How tracking can support muscle gain, body recomposition, and sustainability·       Who tracking is not for right now — and who it can really help·       Why tracking doesn't have to be forever·       The question you should ask before deciding to track:“Am I using this to take care of myself — or to control myself?”·       You've dieted for years and feel burned out·       You're confused about intuitive eating vs tracking·       You want fat loss or muscle gain without extremes·       You feel like you're “doing everything right” but not seeing results·       You want a healthier, calmer relationship with foodIf this episode resonated, make sure you're subscribed to Magic Mindset with Heather Maio for weekly conversations on fitness, nutrition, fat loss, mindset, and sustainable habits — without the bullsh*t.Resources & Links:Not Another Diet Book – Your no-BS guide to sustainable fat loss, food freedom, and building habits that stickhttps://www.amazon.com/Not-Another-Diet-Book-learning/dp/B0B45Q4CLH/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1656499379&sr=8-1Book a 1:1 Coaching Session – Personalized support for your strength and mindset journeyhttps://www.heathermaio.com/coaching-options

Ever felt like no matter how much you prepare for an important conversation with your partner, you still end up missing each other entirely? In the heat of tough conversations, even the best intentions can get lost as tension rises and defenses go up. It's all too easy for moments of misunderstanding to snowball, leaving both people feeling disconnected and unsure how to find their way back to each other. In this episode, you'll discover a radically simple approach to transforming those tense moments into opportunities for true connection. Looking through the lens of openness, which the conversation calls the "aperture effect," you'll learn why slowing down, becoming mindful, and attuning to each other's emotional states can help you break free from unhelpful patterns. Explore practical techniques to foster emotional safety, collaboration, and presence so you can turn even challenging interactions into pathways for deeper understanding and closeness. Kathryn Ford, M.D., is a psychiatrist, couples therapist, and author. Her work is a unique integration of mindfulness, psychotherapy, and neuroscience. After receiving her M.D. degree from Brown School of Medicine, Dr. Ford completed a residency in psychiatry at Stanford University School of Medicine. Her meditation practice and studies developed her understanding of the power of mindfulness for building deeper, more resilient relationships. She has taught at Stanford Continuing Studies, Stanford Medical School, and  Santa Clara University, and publishes regularly online in Psychology Today.   Episode Highlights 04:02 The Aperture Effect—an exploration at the intersection of psychiatry, mindfulness, and neuroscience. 09:40 What happens when openness shuts down in conversation? 11:26 The brain's role in relationship dynamics and mindful self-awareness. 15:23 Recognizing and responding to real-time emotional signals. 17:14 How our openness fluctuates moment to moment: Practical awareness skills. 21:08 Why slowing down changes everything: Strategies for connection over resolution. 26:06 Openness on a continuum: Tracking your state in challenging conversations. 29:16 Regrouping when things get rocky: Navigating pauses and timeouts. 33:53 Moving between vulnerability and defensiveness. 38:13 Vulnerability as the pathway to connection. 42:18 The power of naming your emotional state. 43:30 Learning and practicing aperture awareness and mindfulness.   Your Checklist of Actions to Take Practice mindful pausing: When you notice tension or confusion in conversations with your partner, pause for a deep breath to ground yourself and slow the interaction. Regularly check in with yourself during discussions. Ask, "Am I open or closed right now?" and observe your body for cues like warmth (open) or tension (closed). Use the "Two Sentences" exercise by limiting your speaking turns to one or two sentences and then pausing, giving both you and your partner time to process before responding. Be explicit about your emotional state, for example, saying, "I'm feeling a bit vulnerable discussing this," to invite empathy and understanding. When things get heated, intentionally slow down the dialogue. Avoid rapid-fire responses and give space for reflection. Call a timeout if needed: If either partner rates their openness as a 4 or lower (on a 1-10 scale), suggest a short break to allow both people to regroup and prevent escalation. Reassure and regroup: Offer reassurance like, "I didn't mean to sound harsh," and check if both partners feel ready to continue before moving forward. Acknowledge the need for ongoing conversations: Accept that not every topic needs a final resolution. Focus on maintaining connection, trust, and openness even when issues remain unresolved.   Mentioned The Aperture Effect (*Amazon Affiliate link) (book) Polyvagal Theory (website) Gottman Institute (website) Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) (*Psychology Today) (link) ERP 340: The Essential Skill Of Tracking Openness in Relationship — An Interview With Dr. Kathryn Ford 12 Relationship Principles to Strengthen Your Love (free guide)   Connect with Kathryn Ford M.D. Websites: kathrynfordmd.com Facebook: facebook.com/KathrynFordMD Instagram: instagram.com/KathrynFordMD LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/kathryn-ford-m-d-1a675b2b Substack: substack.com/@kathrynfordmd   Connect with Dr. Jessica Higgins Facebook: facebook.com/EmpoweredRelationship  Instagram: instagram.com/drjessicahiggins  Podcast: drjessicahiggins.com/podcasts/ Pinterest: pinterest.com/EmpowerRelation  LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/drjessicahiggins  Twitter: @DrJessHiggins  Website: drjessicahiggins.com   Email: jessica@drjessicahiggins.com

In today’s Faith Over Fear conversation, host Jennifer Slattery sits down with Todd Moore, Director of Education at Trinity Debt Management, to talk honestly about financial fear, scarcity mindsets, and the emotional weight money struggles carry—especially in today’s economy. Todd shares his powerful story of growing up with scarcity, accumulating debt as a first-generation college student, and eventually discovering that financial hardship doesn’t define your future. Together, Jennifer and Todd explore why money anxiety impacts our sense of safety, how past trauma can intensify present fear, and why struggling financially is far more common—and far less shameful—than many realize. You’ll also hear practical, grace-filled encouragement for anyone who feels overwhelmed or stuck, including: Why financial hardship doesn’t mean you’ve failed How fear affects the brain—and why support matters Small, doable steps you can take right now to regain clarity How God’s compassion meets us in seasons of financial uncertainty Why asking for help can be the turning point toward freedom If you’re facing job loss, debt, rising expenses, or lingering fear rooted in past instability, this episode offers both biblical reassurance and practical hope. This week on Fat Science, Dr. Emily Cooper, Mark Wright, and Andrea Taylor answer listener mailbag questions from California, the UK, France, Washington, Wyoming, and beyond. The team breaks down why Dr. Cooper does not recommend calorie tracking (and when limited tracking can make sense), how to build confidence in eating without data, and why “mechanical eating” sometimes needs medical customization—especially for people with slow gut transit or gastroparesis-like symptoms. They also dig into bile acid malabsorption after gallbladder removal, when metformin side effects deserve a second look, what we currently know about COVID-19's potential impact on metabolic health, and why metformin and GLP-1 medications can be complementary—particularly in PCOS.Key Takeaways• Long-term calorie tracking can override physiologic cues and reinforce diet mentality.• Short-term, targeted tracking may be useful when guided by a clinician (e.g., nutrient deficiencies ).• Obesity and abnormal appetite are both manifestations of metabolic dysfunction—not simple cause and effect.• Mechanical eating is a framework, not a rigid rule—timing and food choices may need medical tailoring.• Post-gallbladder diarrhea may reflect bile acid malabsorption and can be treatable.• Metformin and GLP-1s often complement each other because they target different metabolic states (fasting vs fed).Dr. Cooper's Actionable Tips• Stop daily calorie counting—focus on consistent patterns and metabolic nourishment.• Use mechanical eating basics: eat every few hours, include all food groups, and reduce chemical additives when possible.• If you're transitioning away from tracking, consider a dietitian skilled in diet-mentality recovery.• If frequent eating worsens sleep or bloating, work with a medical dietitian to adjust intervals and food types (especially with slow GI transit).• If chronic diarrhea appears (especially after gallbladder removal), ask your clinician about bile acid malabsorption and treatment options.• Use labs to guide therapy: fasting insulin can signal metformin benefit; post-meal patterns can point toward GLP-1 needs.Notable Quote“Once you start using tracking to stay in a calorie range or a carbohydrate range, you're putting your brain in front of your physiologic intuition—your body is sending you important cues all the time.”—Dr. Emily CooperLinks & ResourcesThe Metabolic Links to PCOS, Release Date 2/24/25The COVID Connection to Diabetes & Metabolic Health, Release Date 12/16/24Podcast Home: https://fatsciencepodcast.com/Episode References: https://fatsciencepodcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Scientific-References-Fat-Science-Episodes.pdfCooper Center: https://coopermetabolic.com/podcast/Resources from Dr. Cooper: https://coopermetabolic.com/resources/Submit a Question: questions@fatsciencepodcast.com*Fat Science: No diets, no agendas—just science that makes you feel better. Feeling exhausted from constantly tracking your food, starting over every Monday, and still wondering why nothing sticks long-term? In this episode, Leslie breaks down why food tracking often becomes a false sense of control rather than a path to freedom. She explains how tracking can temporarily soothe anxiety around food while quietly reinforcing distrust, perfectionism, and the all-or-nothing cycle that keeps so many women stuck. Leslie challenges the belief that more discipline, more data, or tighter control will finally fix food struggles. She shares her own story of extreme dieting, weight regain, and the emotional toll of trying to be "perfect," revealing why information and willpower alone never lead to permanent change. Instead, she highlights how tracking often acts as a band-aid masking deeper nervous system and emotional patterns that drive overeating. The real solution, Leslie explains, is learning to regulate your internal world rather than micromanaging food. By shifting focus from control to self-trust, and from external rules to internal alignment, you can quiet food noise, feel calm around eating, and finally experience consistency without restriction. This episode offers clarity, relief, and a new way forward for anyone ready to stop managing food forever and start living freely. On this episode of Vitality Radio, Jared shares a simple quarterly framework to help you actually follow through on health goals: Start, Stop, Keep. Adapted from a powerful business coaching tool, it becomes a practical way to evaluate what's working, what's draining you, and what single change could move you forward right now. Jared ties it to the “1% better” mindset from Atomic Habits—small daily choices that compound into massive long-term results—and gives real-world examples like setting a consistent bedtime, intermittent fasting, and quitting grazing. You'll also hear actionable “starts” (like walking after meals and tracking food/supplement effects) and “stops” (like late-day caffeine and doom scrolling). No hype—just a clean system you can repeat every quarter, month, or whatever works for you.Products:LiverVitatlityEndoCleanseVital 5:Ultimate Vitality MultiMagnesium BisglycinateOmega-3 + AntioxidantsPrecision Probiotic Vital SporesAssimil-8 Digestive EnzymesBack on TractAdditional Information:Atomic Habits by James Clear - bookThe Compound Effect by Darren Hardy - book#579: Fueling Your Day Right: How to Eat for Energy, Focus, and Weight Loss with Nate Palmer#604: Emotional Vitality: How to Break Out of Overwhelm and the Freeze Response#242: The Vital Five How To: Your User's Guide to Filling the Gaps in Your DietVisit the podcast website here: VitalityRadio.comYou can follow @vitalitynutritionbountiful and @vitalityradio on Instagram, or Vitality Radio and Vitality Nutrition on Facebook. This time last year, Los Angeles was on fire, and more than 16,000 homes and buildings burned to the ground. Cars, batteries, solar panels, insulation, and cleaning supplies went up in flames, releasing chemicals like lead, benzene, and asbestos into giant smoke plumes that wafted across the city.A year later, scientists are trying to understand the fallout of this urban wildfire—what chemicals got left behind, how to remediate them, and the threats to our health. Host Flora Lichtman talks with Yifang Zhu and Francois Tissot, who are at the forefront of this research. And for one of them, this work is personal.Guests:Dr. François Tissot is a professor of geochemistry at Caltech in Pasadena, California. Dr. Yifang Zhu is a professor of environmental health sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles.Transcripts for each episode are available within 1-3 days at sciencefriday.com. Fear, Flight & Fast-Tracking the Olympics With Quinn Dehlinger

Time is currency. And freestyle Olympic skier Quinn Dehlinger cashed in on an opportunity he earned last June. That's when Quinn got a call from his coach that he'd made the 2026 U.S. Winter Olympic Team. Quinn narrowly missed out on qualifying for the 2022 Olympics. Qualifying eight months before the Olympics in Italy was a game changer. "Going into the competitions this year, if I got sick or had a minor injury it lifted a little of the weight off the shoulders," says Quinn. Aerial skiing is a freestyle discipline. Athletes are often compared to acrobats on skis. The team trains year-round at its home base in Park City at the Utah Olympic Park where skiers spend all summer perfecting tricks in a pool. But Quinn grew up in Cincinnati which has become a pipeline for aerial skiers. Four skiers on the Olympic team have ties to the Cincinnati area and they credit the smaller hill for high reps they did on rails and jumps. On this Dying to Ask: The greatest advantage of making the Olympic team so early. How did Cincinnati become a pipeline for Olympic aerial skiers? Why fear is a good thing when you you're an acrobat on skis And what it's like to pursue an Olympic dream when your girlfriend is also an Olympian

Tracking falling space debris via sonic booms, and getting drunk off your own microbes

First up with Jennie Erin Smith, Science's new senior biomedicine reporter, we delve into: autobrewery syndrome, when microbes inside the human gut make too much alcohol; how doctors can use a public repository, the Mexican Biobank, to guide patient care; and preliminary findings that surgery on the brain's plumbing shows promise for Alzheimer's disease. Next on the show, it's tough to calculate when and where deorbiting spacecraft might enter the upper atmosphere and then eventually hit the ground. Benjamin Fernando, a seismologist and planetary scientist at Johns Hopkins University, has shown that sonic booms created by fast-moving space debris shake seismic sensors, giving clues to angle of re-entry, breakup dynamics, and final location.
