Serialul are 10 episoade.

Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

At the EUVC Summit 2025, the stage belonged to a voice shaped by geopolitics, defense, and the future of industrial innovation: Sebastian von Ribbentrop, Managing Partner at Join Capital.Sebastian took us on a journey—one that started in Berlin in 2017 with a cornerstone commitment from Eiser Capital, and has since expanded to NATO, Ukraine, and beyond. Not Just Startups. Not Just Capital.Join was born when European engineers left corporates like Siemens and Airbus to build their own ventures—but weren't getting funded.Sebastian and his team stepped in. Today, with 148 LPs (90% from across Europe's industrial heartlands), Join has become a backbone for the builders reimagining enterprise and defense. The paradigm shift became undeniable in 2023, when the NATO Innovation Fund wrote its largest ticket into Join Fund II. It wasn't just capital—it was a mandate to help reshape defense and industrialization.A New Industrial MomentFrom Washington's NATO anniversary to trips into Ukraine, Sebastian's message was clear: the defense supply chain has transformed. It is now:FastTargetedSmartAnd while Europe faces inefficiencies (43 different tanks vs. one Abrams in the U.S.), it also faces a massive market opportunity.Billions at PlayThe scale is unprecedented:€200 billion from Ursula von der Leyen into defense & infrastructure€500+ billion from Germany's new chancellor, Matz$500 billion floated by Trump over the next five yearsThese aren't subsidies—they're revenues. Offset programs that give companies the ability to build products, not just pitch ideas.DARPA, Dual Use & the Technology RaceSebastian reminded the room: shocks create breakthroughs. Sputnik birthed DARPA, which still deploys $4 billion annually into challenges. Now, the race is on—dual-use technology, export restrictions, inexpensive smart radar systems taking down next-gen jets.Europe, he argued, must catch up. But it has the chance to lead.“Geopolitics,” he quoted Kissinger, “is 100% personal.” And Europe must take responsibility—urgently.Leadership With TeethSebastian's talk wasn't about abstractions. It was about:How wars reshape supply chains overnightHow NATO's backing changes venture capitalHow Europe can seize its industrial and defense momentBecause leadership in this decade won't be written in press releases. It will be written in supply chains, radar systems, and the speed of capital deployment.Congratulations to Sebastian von Ribbentrop and Join Capital—for reminding the ecosystem that industrial innovation isn't just defense spending. It's Europe's opportunity to lead in a world being reshaped, fast.

In this episode of Right on Radio, host Jeff breaks down a fast-moving, complex set of stories that connect global geopolitics, high-profile rallies, and a charged domestic response to the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. Expect a mix of news clips, analysis, and spiritual framing as Jeff ties together developments from Brussels to London to Washington, D.C. The episode opens with a sponsor message from EMP Shield and a practical reminder about readiness. From there Jeff moves to the international stage: he plays and analyses a clip from European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen about “battle lines” being drawn, examines NATO and energy leverage amid tensions with Russia, and discusses remarks from Netanyahu and a strong Saudi response to Israeli strikes. Jeff also reviews the 250-member U.S. congressional delegation in Israel and commentary about U.S.–Israel ties. Turning to London, Jeff covers a mass protest headlined by Tommy Robinson and a notable speech by Elon Musk on migration, free speech, and government responsibility. He discusses how Musk's remarks reflect wider Western anxieties about immigration, crime, and national identity and considers how those themes are being amplified globally. On the U.S. domestic front Jeff plays and critiques clips from J.D. Vance and Stephen Miller on dismantling violent left-wing networks and carrying Charlie Kirk's mission forward. He reviews the Vice President's televised appeal to civic action — including urging listeners to call out those who celebrate political violence — and Attorney General Pam Bondi's statements about targeting hate speech and university responses. Jeff examines the legal, ethical, and social implications of doxxing, employer pressure, and government pushback against groups labeled as domestic threats. The show surveys mainstream punditry (including Jesse Watters and others) urging social and financial ostracism for those deemed celebratory of political violence, explores media conditioning and the narrative of “dark to false light,” and plays a Joe Rogan/Dave Smith clip about U.S.–Israel relations and public perception. Jeff flags reporting on trans activists, alleged “trans armies,” and broader narratives used to mobilize different constituencies. Jeff places many of these events in a spiritual frame — describing the conflict as a battle of spirits that manifests in political and social upheaval — and warns of accelerating instability: government crises in multiple countries, talk of retaliatory strikes, and the specter of broader conflict. He connects these themes to practical preparedness (EMP protection, health supplements) and personal faith. Guests and clips featured or discussed include Ursula von der Leyen, Elon Musk, J.D. Vance, Stephen Miller, Vice Presidential remarks, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Benjamin Netanyahu, Marco Rubio, Mohammed bin Salman, Joe Rogan/Dave Smith, and references to Tommy Robinson and Charlie Kirk. Key takeaways: the West is facing rapid geopolitical and cultural realignments, political leaders are publicly shifting toward more aggressive domestic and foreign stances, and ordinary citizens are being asked to choose sides — with spiritual, practical, and civic consequences. Harry McGee and Cormac McQuinn join Hugh Linehan to look back on the week in politics: · The assassination of the conservative activist and influencer Charlie Kirk on stage at a college campus in Utah on Wednesday is the latest chapter in America's increasingly toxic political climate. A Donald Trump loyalist, Kirk was instrumental in mobilising younger voters during last year's US presidential race. Unfortunately, the threat of violence is present in Irish politics too, with Tánaiste Simon Harris outspoken on the intimidation and bomb threats directed at him and his family.· The urgency with which aspiring independent presidential candidates have sought support is ramping up, with ten Oireachtas members now said to have given commitments to conservative campaigner Maria Steen to nominate her to enter the presidential election. Council nominations are also a viable route for independents but one that is narrowing all the time.· And EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen's proposal to suspend parts of EU-Israel trade deal could be seen as a significant shift towards the stance Ireland and others have taken as the slaughter in Gaza continues. Plus, the panel picks their favourite Irish Times pieces of the week:· Javier Milei's right-wing ‘chainsaw revolution' in Argentina, Ireland's shambolic display against Armenia as their World Cup dream dies, and yet another new prime minister as France's political crisis deepens. But it's not just Russian aggression causing major headaches for European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen - she's also facing backlash over her U-turn on Gaza, with many calling the latest sanctions on Israel too little, too late. With tensions rising on multiple fronts, the real question is: can a divided Europe stand united in the face of growing threats — or are internal cracks starting to show at the worst possible time? Interviene Giulia Crivelli, Sole 24 Ore.
