We break down the reactions on both the left and the right, the flood of conspiracy claims surrounding the event, and how Israel once again became a central point of debate in the aftermath. This conversation goes beyond headlines to address the deeper war on consciousness itself — why people struggle to hold uncertainty, the consequences of irresponsible speech, the role of faith and resilience in times of tragedy, and how to stay grounded in evidence and individualism rather than clickbait and emotional manipulation.Time Stamps(00:00) Episode Teaser(00:36) Opening Conversation(03:25) Guest Introductions(09:12) Discussion on Current Events and Truth Seeking(11:14) Reactions to Charlie Kirk's Assassination(17:19) Conspiracy Theories and Media Influence(42:00) Candace Owens(47:35) The Importance of Reason and Truth-Seeking(50:02) The Role of Influencers and Propaganda(52:52) The Complexity of Middle Eastern Politics(56:21) The Roots of Antisemitism and Historical Context(01:02:36) Judaism, Christianity, and Islam: Philosophical Differences(01:11:42) The Talmud Misconceptions(01:15:27) The Dangers of Collective Blame(01:30:50) The Pursuit of Truth vs. Being Right(01:32:07) The State of America and Government Actions(01:34:58) The Influence of Communism and Historical Parallels(01:36:40) Metaphysics vs. Physical Solutions(01:39:07) The Role of Religion in Society(01:42:39) Concerns About Christian Revival and Theocracy(01:51:12) The Power of the Individual vs. The Collective(01:56:47) Closing Thoughts on Individuality and FreedomGuest Linkshttps://www.dwtruthwarrior.com/ https://dwtruthwarrior.substack.com/ https://mattpresti.substack.com/ https://www.mattpresti.com/ Connect with UsJoin our membership Friends of the TruthSubscribe to Here for the Truth FridaysWatch Joel's Presentation: “Myths to Awaken the Soul”Take the Real AF Test NowDiscover Your Truth Seeker ArchetypeWatch all our episodesConnect with us on TelegramAccess all our links

While serving in the US Congress, Tom served on the Foreign Affairs Committee and Homeland Security Committee. An expert on Iran and the Middle East, Tom Garrett's analysis and insights are enlightening as America's foreign policy and national security concerns are focused on a strategic region adversely impacted by Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism. Key Topics: The state of America's economy and the impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act focused on cutting taxes for everyday and hardworking Americans, including no tax on tips and overtime, no tax on social security, and savings for American families. He called it "a conjob." President Trump stated that renewable energy, along with migration, was destroying Western countries and placing nations in debt and added greater security challenges. Published report: _President Trump attacked global immigration and efforts to fight climate change during an address to the United Nations, claiming they were among the world's top threats to Western civilization. In an hour-long speech filled with grievances about ongoing wars, windmills and malfunctioning escalators, it was Trump's attacks against what he called a “double-tailed monster” that rang loudest in the ornate General Assembly room. “Immigration and the high cost of so-called green, renewable energy is destroying a large part of the free world and a large part of our planet,” he said. “Countries that cherish freedom are fading fast because of their policies on these two subjects. Both immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe.” “I'm telling you that if you don't get away from the ‘green energy' scam, your country is going to fail. If you don't stop people that you've never seen before that you have nothing in common with, your country is going to fail.” _ President Donald Trump, speech delivered at the United Nations, September 23, 2025 America's eyes are focused on state-wide elections in New Jersey and Virginia, with governors' races and the legislatures which will determine key policies including economic and social issues. Pro-life advocates are concerned about Virginian Democrats pushing for a radical plan: House Joint Resolution 1/Senate Joint Resolution 247, would amend the Virginia Constitution to allow for unrestricted abortion through the third trimester of pregnancy – repealing and preventing widely supported abortion regulations that enjoy broad support from the American people. Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with the Honorable Benjamin S. Carson, Sr. M.D., one of America's most principled leaders, a brilliant mind, and a champion of freedom. Dr. Ben Carson is the founder and chairman of the American Cornerstone Institute, the 17th U.S. Secretary of the Department of Housing and Development, and former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The conversation focuses on: * Domestic and foreign policy initiatives with a review on the successes of the second Trump Administration. * The importance of faith, family and patriotism in protecting our freedoms in America. * The ills of marxism and socialism and their manifestation in America. * Expanding homeownership and reigniting the American Dream. * Affirming Israel's sovereignty and protecting Jewish communities in the West. Our conversation also highlights Dr. Ben Carson's must-read book "The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture's War on the American Family." Quote from Dr. Ben Carson's book, "The Perilous Fight": "The perilous fight" was penned by Francis Scott Key in the midst of a most difficult and pivotal moment in our nation's history when twenty British ships bombarded Fort McHenry from the Baltimore Harbor. It was on the morning of September 14, 1814 that Francis Scott Key wrote about the ramparts, and the land of the free and the home of the brave which inspired a nation and became a rallying victory call. “The perilous fight—those words arrest my attention whenever I place my right hand over my heart and face the flag at the playing of our national anthem. They are a reminder that America was born in a crucible of fire. Freedom was not given freely but had to be fought for and defended.” ~ Dr. Ben Carson Biography | Dr. Ben Carson In 1973, Ben Carson graduated from Yale University. He went on to receive his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School. At the age of 33, Dr. Carson became the chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, making him the youngest major division director in the hospital's history. This would be among an extensive list of outstanding firsts for Dr. Carson. Dr. Carson's accomplishments have earned him a place in medical history. He performed the first and only successful separation of craniopagus (Siamese) twins joined at the back of the head in 1987. He also performed the first fully successful separation of type-2 vertical craniopagus twins in 1997 in South Africa. In his career, Dr. Carson became a professor of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery, and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and directed pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center for over 29 years. In 2016, Dr. Carson accepted the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump administration. After completing his tenure as the 17th Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute. This organization is focused on fighting for the principles that have guided him through life and that make this country great: faith, liberty, community and life. Dr. Carson and his wife, Candy Carson, co-founded the Carson Scholars Fund, which recognizes young people of all backgrounds for exceptional academic and humanitarian accomplishments. The organization has awarded more than 11,000 scholarships and paid out more than $8.9 million in scholarships. The Carson Scholars Fund is currently operating in 50 states and the District of Columbia, and since its founding, has installed more than 270 Ben Carson Reading Rooms around the country. In 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute (ACI), a conservative think tank centered around advancing policies that promote “faith, liberty, community, and life.” Dr. and Mrs. Carson reside in Florida. They are the proud parents of three sons and three daughters-in-law, and blessed grandparents of eight grandchildren. What do you really want the second half of your life to look like?  Being a doormat for others, then resenting it? Saying yes, when you really mean no? Doing more tasks or more work, taking responsibility for everything, and feeling overwhelmed in your life?  This can be how so many of us in midlife feel, but I'm here to tell you there IS another way.  In this episode, I sit down with expert Beatriz Albina to talk about a challenge so many women face but can't always name—patterns of overgiving, perfectionism, and the ultimate people-pleasing trap.  Beatriz introduces the concept of emotional outsourcing and how it quietly drives these behaviors, leaving us feeling stuck and drained.  Together, we discuss how reframing your mindset is a powerful tool for reclaiming your emotional well-being. Plus, Beatriz gives us a sneak peek into her brand-new book, End Emotional Outsourcing—a guide to finding freedom, balance, and true self-connection. Tune in here to reignite joy in your life, and find the inner peace you've been craving for years!  Beatriz Albina Beatriz (Béa) Albina, NP, MPH, SEP (she/her) is a UCSF-trained Family Nurse Practitioner, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Master Certified Somatic Life Coach, and author of the book "End Emotional Outsourcing: a Guide to Overcoming Codependent, Perfectionist and People Pleasing Habits". When we start being mean to ourselves, when we ignore our impulses, when we project, when we take things personally, when we get offended, all these things– our nervous system is in a different time and place.”  “That's the self-worth work. Saying, ‘I trust myself, I believe in myself, and so I know that this isn't a problem.' And that's that. Not allowing any other thoughts to enter your beautiful mind space, your world, your body. Best In Wealth - Best Practices for Real People, Investments, Retirement Planning, Money Management, Wealth Building, Financi

Tax laws may not be flashy, but understanding them can tilt the balance for your family's finances and peace of mind. I'm digging into the details of the much-talked-about “One Big Beautiful Tax Bill”, a huge piece of tax legislation that's set to impact families, retirees, and investors across the country. I break down the most important highlights from the massive 870-page bill, focusing on what really matters for everyday listeners: permanent income tax brackets, bigger standard deductions, expanded SALT limits, and significant new deductions for seniors.  Tune in for clear, actionable insights on the changes coming to your taxes, and learn how to make these updates work in your favor. Outline of This Episode [04:27] Tax act extension highlights.[07:22] Inflation adjustment for tax brackets.[10:38] Tax deduction and SALT cap changes.[13:23] Maximize your deductions and minimize taxable income.[18:53] Estate tax and deductions update.[22:08] Permanent deductions and brackets.[23:45] Tax benefits for families. Tax Brackets and Standard Deduction: More Certainty, Bigger Benefits One of the most interesting aspects of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) is the permanent extension of the income tax brackets Americans have become accustomed to since the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017. Instead of the cliff that was looming at the end of 2024, current rates (10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, and 32%) are now here to stay. This certainty means families, investors, and business owners can plan with clarity, knowing that the 10% and 12% brackets won't suddenly vanish. But there's more: in 2026, the 10% and 12% brackets will receive extra inflation adjustments, leading to a few hundred dollars of potential tax savings just for staying under those thresholds. While many American households may not climb out of the 12% bracket, those who do will benefit even more. Another major win is the increase in the standard deduction, now $31,500 for married couples filing jointly and $15,750 for single filers, starting in 2025. Add in automatic inflation adjustments, and the vast majority of taxpayers are now better off taking the standard deduction rather than itemizing, unless big deductions, like SALT, tilt the scale. The Expanded SALT Deduction Under OBBB, the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction cap explodes from $10,000 to $40,000, restoring much of the pre-2017 advantage. For married couples with large property and state income taxes, this unlocks greater ability to itemize rather than default to the standard deduction. But this expanded cap begins phasing out for adjusted gross incomes above $500,000 and is gone by $600,000. Smart, ongoing tax planning, tracking income, maximizing deductions, and timing bonuses or retirement contributions can make the difference between using the full deduction or losing out. Enhanced Deductions for Those 65+ For retirees, the bill introduces a temporary enhanced standard deduction: if you're over 65, you can...

RIF'd State Department workers get confusing furlough messages; Education workers' automatic email replies changed to blame shutdown on Democrats

    The Daily Scoop Podcast

Former State Department employees whose roles were eliminated as part of a reduction-in-force still received information about whether they would be needed during the government shutdown — including some workers who were told their positions were “excepted.” While the full extent of the issue wasn't immediately clear, three such employees shared those notifications with FedScoop on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation. Others were also aware of the problem even if they didn't receive the messages themselves. In response to a FedScoop request for comment, a State spokesperson indicated the department was aware of the issue and had taken steps to address it, confirming there were “minor” discrepancies with data, saying that the department immediately worked to resolve any outstanding issues. Of the three State Department notices reviewed by FedScoop, one informed the RIF'd employee that their position was “excepted” and explained that those roles are defined as those needed for emergencies that threaten life and property or are essential for national security. It then ordered that worker to “report to work on your next regularly scheduled workday.” The other two already RIF'd employees were told that they would be furloughed during the shutdown but that it was “in no way a value judgement on the work you do for the Department.” Those employees were also instructed to review their department emails for updates despite not being able to access that information. Of the three RIF'd employees, only one — a foreign service officer — is still on the department's payroll. As employees at the Education Department prepared for a looming government shutdown this week, several set an automatic email reply to inform others of their furloughed status. But by Thursday morning, some furloughed workers discovered that their automatic email replies had been altered, without their knowledge, to include a message blaming Democratic senators for the ongoing government shutdown. According to two furloughed Education Department employees, the agency sent workers suggested language to use for their out-of-office messages earlier this week, but the language was “neutral” regarding the shutdown. One of the employees, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told FedScoop they and other furloughed staff mostly cut and paste from the suggested language with little to no changes when setting their automatic replies. But when they checked their automatic email replies Thursday morning, the message changed and included partisan language mentioning Democrats, the employee said. The other furloughed worker said they set the generic text for their OOO email Wednesday morning and the message was changed by Wednesday night. Send us a textCorie dedicates this episode to the late matriarch “Mama Doreen,” whose Girl Guides guard-of-honour in a packed Tacarigua church sparked a bigger conversation: the crisis of community and how strong institutions can pull Trinidad & Tobago back from its apparent moral decline. Anchored by memories from the funeral and repass—hymns, kaiso, and hard truths—Corie argues that movements like Girl Guides, Brownies, Scouts, Cadets, school bands, and the Police Band don't just “nice up” events; they form citizens, bridge generations, and repair trust between youth and the State. We salute bandmaster Anthony “Mr” Prospect and explore what Independence parades actually mean, why cancelling them matters, and how pageantry signals “we are us.” We touch this year's National Awards, asking how we value cultural workers next to sport and politics. In the music lane: Leon “Smooth” Edwards' iconic Panorama moments; why brass belongs in our sound; and a canon defence of Shorty—“Endless Vibrations,” “Om Shanti,” and the unfinished business of credit. There's a lively detour into Scorch's 101 soca list—criteria, crowd reaction vs cultural impact—and a real-life car-ride debate about youth music vs parents' music. We also reason through police-in-schools optics, state-of-emergency fatigue, and how uniformed performance (yes, send the Police Band into communities playing the youths' songs) can soften hardened lines. It's gratitude, history, and kaiso—offered for Mama, inspired by the Girl Guides, and focused on rebuilding the institutions that can steady a wobbling society. Angus Fletcher has a PhD in literature from Yale and teaches English at Ohio State. He's passionate about Shakespeare. He probably owns a tweed jacket. In other words, he's the last person you'd expect to receive the Army's fourth-highest civilian honor. But when he's not parsing King Lear or dissecting Hamlet, Angus is pioneering research into narrative cognition — our ability to think in stories — and how it can make us smarter. When the Army put his theories to the test, his methods reshaped how soldiers learn to think clearly under pressure and act decisively in volatile environments. Now, he has distilled this work into a new book called Primal Intelligence. Malcolm Gladwell says it's confirmation that Angus "has never had an uninteresting thought." Sure seems like Qatar just got an offer of US protection in exchange for a $400 million luxury jet. Trump announced the gift of the new Air Force One a few weeks ago and he said there were no strings attached. Now we know he granted the oil-rich country a NATO-like defense guarantee. If Qatar gets attacked, the US will respond. It's like mafia rules on the world stage. Trump's order says: “The United States shall regard any armed attack on the territory, sovereignty, or critical infrastructure of the State of Qatar as a threat to the peace and security of the United States.” In other words, Qatar showed respect and paid for protection. It looks like they‘re family now. We'll discuss it with award-winning author, journalist, and scholar Sarah Kendzior. We will check in on the Supreme Court, from birthright citizenship to who Trump can and cannot fire. Former federal prosecutor and now defense attorney, David Katz joins.
