Watch the YouTube version of this episode HEREAre you looking for advice on how to keep a firm running smoothly? In this episode of the Maximum Lawyer Podcast, Tyson interviews Gary Allen, a lawyer-turned-legal tech founder who shares lessons learned from witnessing two law firm collapse. Gary talks about inefficiencies and cultural barriers in traditional firms, then explains how these experiences inspired the creation of Lean Law.Gary shares his thoughts on the issues that can lead to the collapse of a law firm. One big issue is too much overhead in comparison to what a firm is making. In Gary's experience, his former employer paid too much overhead (i.e. rent, utilities), but the firm did not bring in as many clients which led to a lack of money being generated. There needs to be a formula that is followed to ensure clients are being brought in so a business can sustain itself. Another issue is time overhead, in which lawyers are working but the hours are not billable. This can cause lawyers to put in so much time and energy into work that they cannot be paid for.Gary delves into the creation of Lean Law, which is a company focused on streamlining law firm financial management through technology. Lean Law is the financial operating system for many law firms and helps firms process legal fees. It integrates Quickbooks, so firms can personalize their financial management to ensure fees flow in and out of the firm. It is a great tool for law firms to have so all finances are streamlined and money is in order.Take a listen!01:11 Lessons from Large Firm Failure03:27 Transition to a Healthier Firm10:57 Overhead Awareness and Cost Control 12:09 Transition to Legal Tech: The Spark for Lean Law 14:44 Vision for All-in-One Legal Software 30:58 AI Disrupting Legal Marketing and PPC Tune in to today's episode and checkout the full show notes here. It was there where she dipped her toes into retail, overseeing Target's designer collaborations before taking an interest in the resale market. Samina followed her curiosity to eBay, where she launched the platform's new fashion vertical team, before she ended up at Vestiaire Collective. She helped launch the Paris-based brand in the U.S. market before going on to serve as the U.S. president and global chief marketing officer at Threads, a social-first styling service. Would you die for your kids? Most dads would. But would you live for them? In this powerful episode of the Dad Edge Podcast, I sit down with Andrew Jax—father of three, Australian natural bodybuilding champion, and founder of the “Ditch the Dad Fat” program. Known as the “6 Pack Dad,” Andrew shares how optimizing your health isn't just about looking good—it's about leading with strength, energy, and integrity at home. We explore the silent leadership of fatherhood, why most men's health declines after marriage, and how to reverse that trend with small, sustainable changes. Andrew breaks down the real cost of saying “I don't have time,” the importance of emotional and physical energy for our families, and how you can enjoy your pizza and beer—and still lose the dad bod. Whether you're already committed to health or just thinking about getting back in the game, this episode will fire you up and equip you with strategies you can use today. Watch the YouTube version of this episode HEREAre you a law firm owner who is looking for tips on how to run a good business? In this episode of The Guild Live Show, host Tyson Mutrux shares key takeaways from a New York City mastermind event with attorneys from diverse firms and practice areas. Tyson discusses the “identity crisis” firm owners face when delegating, strategies for handling toxic staff, and innovative ways to package premium legal services. Many law firm owners struggle with identity crises when navigating the legal space, while also being a business owner. This can stem from a range of things. One of the issues is delegation. If a firm owner delegates to many tasks away from themselves, decisions can be made with no input whatsoever, which can make an individual feel like their role at the firm is unimportant. If these feelings persist, it is time to dial things in and take a little more control back. You can also use it as an opportunity to put your focus into other things.Delivering packaged services is a great way to streamline services and provide clients with a great deal. There are a few different ways to do this, such as packaging services that have a flat rate or packaging contingency services. It is important to understand what you provide and what aspects of your firm can be packaged together. Maybe it is best to package together services that are popular for your firm or packaging services for first time clients.Take a listen to learn more!03:24 Law Firm Owner Identity Crisis 06:18 Dealing with Toxic Staff 10:14 Packaging Premium Legal Services 12:13 Team Dynamics with Multiple Firm Members 13:14 Imposter Syndrome and Growth Fears14:20 Transitioning Out and Selling a Law Firm17:03 Managing Family Dynamics in Small Firms 21:13 Hesitancy to Hire and Overcoming BarriersTune in to today's episode and checkout the full show notes here.

Send us a textSome business phrases are so overused they make you wince… but we still say them anyway. In this episode, Mike and Blaine dig into the real origin stories behind the buzzwords we love to hate, from “touch base” and “low-hanging fruit” to “red tape” and “circle back.” They trace how these phrases started on ballfields, farms, and battlefields before they invaded boardrooms—and why they've stuck around long enough to make us all cringe. It's part history, part therapy session, and a reminder that even the most annoying jargon started with a pretty good story.Don't miss the latest insights and entertaining discussions on entrepreneurship, small business, and random BS. In a place where everyone's chasing the same spotlight, talent alone isn't what makes someone stand out. The reality is, most aspiring actors face rejection more than applause, and over time, that grind wears people down. Some drift away, not because they weren't good, but because the waiting, the uncertainty, and the constant comparison get too heavy. The ones who make it often aren't just gifted—they're the ones who stayed in the game long enough to finally be seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtu38SXQvWw Aaron Marcus is a veteran actor and model with nearly 1,300 gigs under his belt. He's also an educator, author, and creator of howtoactandmodel.com and the Actor Career Center on YouTube. Today, he talks about treating acting like a real business—showing up prepared, staying professional, and not letting rejection get in your head. He shares lessons from his own journey and emphasizes that success comes from consistency, not luck. His advice: stay focused, keep learning, and don't take “no” personally. Stay tuned!
