As we explore this vital subject, I emphasize the uniqueness of each individual's journey through hormonal shifts, whether during perimenopause, menopause, or even monthly cycles. Recognizing the natural ebb and flow of hormonal changes, I reassure listeners that they are not "broken" or "losing it"—rather, their bodies are in a transformative phase, prompting a deeper understanding and connection to self.I lay the foundation by discussing the physiological impacts of fluctuating hormone levels and outline how these changes can manifest as various emotional and physical sensations. The transition can trigger new feelings of anxiety, identity crises, and insights into how one's life roles have evolved. It's essential to approach these transitions with curiosity, as understanding the interplay between hormones, stress, and emotional well-being can empower women during this compelling time.Commencing with an intimate exploration of the effects of estrogen and progesterone, I highlight how these hormones influence mood and anxiety levels. Listeners are encouraged to recognize that increased anxiety during these transitions is not a sign of weakness but rather a normal physiological response. I present practical strategies for self-care, including breathing techniques and grounding exercises, to help ease anxiety and cultivate a nurturing relationship with oneself. By advocating for slow exhale breathing, comforting mantras, and gentle physical practices, I offer tools that can aid women in navigating this sensitive phase with grace.#Perimenopause, #Menopause, #MidlifeAnxiety, #HormonalAnxiety, #WomensHealth, #TheChangeOfLife, #AnxietyRelief, #MidlifeTransition, #Recalibration, #IdentityShift, #Estrogen, #Progesterone, #NervousSystem, #StressManagement, #PrioritizeSleep, #SelfCare, #SetBoundaries, #GABA, #SlowExhale, #YouAreNotBroken, #GinaRyan, #AnxietyCoachesPodcast, #ChristianeNorthrup, #FemininePower, #NotLosingIt, #AnxietySupport, #MentalWellness, #StressRelief, #MindBodyConnection, #LifeTransitions, #SelfCompassion, #NervousSystemRegulation, #EmotionalHealth, #HealthJourney, #PersonalGrowth, #SelfHelp, #InnerPeace, #Midlife, #HormoneHealth, #WellbeingJourney, #DeepBreathing, #GroundingTechniques, #MentalClarity, #Recalibration, #ItsOkayToStruggle, #FindingYourCenter, #PodcastForAnxiety, #AuthenticSelf, #ChangingRhythms #ACPSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Have you made any excuses lately?I'm too tired.I'll do it later.I don't have time right now. We've all done it.This week, on Episode #178 of the Habit Thrive Podcast, we're talking about self-talk, self-care, and the excuses we all make … something that feels especially real this time of year. You know the feeling — the days get shorter, our energy dips, the to-do list grows, and suddenly everything feels a little heavier. And in the middle of all that, our excuses start popping up… sometimes loud, sometimes subtle, sometimes surprisingly reasonable.Instead of shaming ourselves for our excuses, start seeing them as messages. Are we actually avoiding something, or are we genuinely tired? Is it really about time… or is it about energy? We also get into how our self-talk shapes those moments — that inner voice that pushes us one minute and pampers us the next. When we slow down and really listen to it, things start to make more sense and feel less like a battle with ourselves. So, notice your self-talk, listen to your excuses with curiosity, and let self-care be a steady rhythm — not another task. Being present with yourself is enough.Lorrie xoxoxOn this episode:FREE Fit, Fearless & Fabulous Holiday Planning Guide: Find it hereLoving the show? Let's connect! Through trauma to self-care, healing oneself is the answer, then advocacy should follow.     Mother's rights, father's rights were discussed and how there should be unity and not division. To Reach Dave Weigel:  Facebook: Family Court Fraud Warrior Project and help@fraudwarrior.orgSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)Maryann Petri: dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.comhttps://www.tiktok.com/@maryannpetriFacebook:  https://www.youtube.com/@slamthegavelpodcasthostmar5536Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/guitarpeace/Pinterest: Slam The Gavel Podcast/@guitarpeaceLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/maryann-petri-62a46b1ab/  YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/@slamthegavelpodcasthostmar5536  Twitter https://x.com/PetriMaryannEzlegalsuit.com   https://ko-fi.com/maryannpetrihttps://www.zazzle.com/store/slam_the_gavel/about*DISCLAIMER* The use of this information is at the viewer/user's own risk. Weekly haircuts, manicures and pedicures, dry-cleaned fits, lotions and fragrance—what's too much, what's just right, and what's mandatory?Sauce breaks down his personal code (weekly cuts, clean nails, pressed clothes) and asks the room about eyebrows, facials, beard dye, and the big one: could you date a man with a hair unit? Is that any different than wigs, weaves, or veneers? Think of her as a guide through the minefields of personal relationships and modern professional life, equipping people with the knowledge and skills to interrupt dysfunctional patterns, relate better, and restore stability.Intro: We're living in an age where information and opinions come at us from every direction, yet clarity feels harder to find than ever. Discernment helps us cut through that noise, in our relationships, decisions, and the way we interpret the world around us. It's not about judgment or perfection; it's about developing the inner radar that helps us know what's true, what's safe, and what's aligned.Together, Nathalie and I unpack what discernment really looks like in practice: how we recognise it, why we override it, and what it costs and gives us when we finally trust it, so you can make decisions with clarity and confidence. We discuss:What discernment actually isWhy we struggle to trust our own discernmentHow culture, social media, and information overload cloud our clarityNathalie's Liberation Cycle: disrupt, extract, and release, a process that turns awareness into real changeHow discernment helps us protect our energy, set boundaries, and still stay open-heartedThe cost of choosing truth over belonging and how discernment can deepen connection rather than destroy itSimple, real-world ways to start practising discernment in daily lifeLinks & resources Find out more about guest Narhalie Martine: https://www.drnathaliemartinek.com/Read Nathalie's Substack article 'How to Develop Discernment' Nathalie's 'Hacking Narcissism' substack: https://www.hackingnarcissism.com/Discernment Series Reflective Reset Guides designed to help you pause, reflect, and practice discernment in real-life moments. By exploring the 'what-if mind,' we unpack how these relentless thoughts can spiral into overwhelming anxiety. The discussion centers on recognizing where our concerns originate, often rooted in our instinct to protect ourselves. While our minds are hardwired to anticipate dangers and potential problems, this survival mechanism can easily turn into an exhausting cycle of worry. The show emphasizes that these what-ifs can feel convincing and powerful, often painting scenarios that never materialize while neglecting positive outcomes. This pattern leads to a narrowed perspective, amplifying fear beyond reality. I stress the importance of not fighting or suppressing these thoughts but rather acknowledging their presence and gently guiding the mind back to the present—where our true power lies.Throughout the episode, I share strategies to help listeners identify and manage their what-if thoughts. The key is early recognition—skills that can be cultivated over time. I discuss the significance of labeling anxious thoughts as they arise, reframing them to acknowledge that they are simply future predictions and not current facts. This technique enables listeners to replace anxiety with grounding affirmations and return to their breath, thereby reclaiming their calm.#AnxietyRelief, #FutureAnxiety, #Overthinking, #WorryLess, #CalmYourMind, #WhatIfs, #AnxietySupport, #StressRelief, #AnxietyAwareness, #AnxietyTips, #EmotionalWellness, #QuietMind, #Mindfulness, #PresentMoment, #ReturnToNow, #BeHereNow, #BePresent, #MindfulLiving, #InTheMoment, #MindfulnessPractice, #CalmMind, #PeaceOfMind, #GuidedMeditation, #MeditationPractice, #BreathingExercises, #Breathwork, #Grounding, #Mantra, #Affirmations, #DailyMeditation, #MeditationJourney, #MindfulBreathing, #MentalHealth, #MentalHealthMatters, #SelfCare, #SelfLove, #PersonalGrowth, #InnerPeace, #Wellness, #Wellbeing, #Healing, #EndTheStigma, #AnxietyCoachesPodcast, #GinaRyan, #AnxietyCoach, #LifeCoach, #WellnessPodcast, #Coaching, #PodcastLife. #ACPSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this illuminating conversation, Dr. Natasha Beck—also known as Dr. Organic Mommy—shares how slowing down, simplifying, and removing hidden toxins from our homes can transform not just our kids' health, but our own. Diagnosed as a child with ADHD and dyslexia, Dr. Beck eventually uncovered how diet, environment, and overstimulation were shaping her well-being. Now a pediatric neuropsychologist, she helps families create calmer, more connected lives through practical changes—like her two-week “fragrance-free” challenge that has surprised even the most skeptical parents. The “Fabulous Four of Life”—Diet, Exercise, Sleep/Recovery, and Happiness—form the cornerstone of a truly balanced and high-performing life. Each of these elements directly influences the others, creating a powerful synergy that drives physical health, mental clarity, and emotional resilience. A nutritious diet not only fuels energy but also acts as biochemical information for the body, influencing gene expression, mood, and longevity. Proper hydration, balanced macronutrients, and colorful plant-based foods enhance focus and emotional stability, setting the stage for optimal performance throughout the day.Exercise serves as both medicine and meditation for the body and mind. Regular movement strengthens the heart, sharpens cognition, and triggers the release of endorphins, creating a natural buffer against stress and depression. Even small, consistent bouts of physical activity—like brisk walks or resistance training—help maintain muscle tone, improve circulation, and elevate mood. Combined with intentional breathing and mindful stretching, exercise becomes a tool not just for fitness but for balance, grounding, and confidence in everyday life.Sleep and recovery complete the physical foundation by enabling repair, growth, and emotional regulation. Deep, consistent rest allows the brain to consolidate learning and reset the body's systems. Paired with happiness practices—such as gratitude journaling, mindfulness, and meaningful relationships—this foundation transforms health into fulfillment. Happiness is not merely a feeling but a state born from purpose, connection, and alignment between values and actions. When all four pillars are practiced together, they cultivate a life filled with energy, clarity, and sustainable success.Dr. Fred Clary, founder of Functional Analysis Chiropractic Technique and lifting/life coach/ gym-chalk covered philosopher talks about the steps to a joyful life!

Rebranding Divorce: The Post-Divorce Growth Cycle—Radical Self-Care, Money Confidence, and Community Founders Mimi Sullivan and Carolyn Bilyak of Rebranding Divorce join Karen and Catherine to unpack the Post-Divorce Growth Cycle—a practical framework that helps women move from survival to confidence through radical self-care, money clarity, and healthy relationships. We discuss why community accelerates healing, how nervous-system awareness changes your money story, and why clear financial data—not emotion—drives better post-divorce decisions. Key Takeaways Clarity compounds: build confidence in one pillar (money or self-care) and the others strengthen. Regulate, then calculate: calm the nervous system so you can actually work the numbers. Community beats isolation: safe spaces prevent ruminating, revenge-energy, and rushed decisions. Data protects you: verified financials reduce mistakes, regrets, and legal costs. Growth is cyclical: each pass through the cycle allows deeper work (from budgeting → investing, from rest → purpose). But what if that's not the problem at all?In this episode, we reframe what it means to “stay consistent,” explore why many of us use overwhelm as our barometer, and talk about how true discipline might actually look like doing less, not more.3 Takeaways:1. Maybe you're not falling back into "bad habits" - you're overcommitting until self-care becomes impossible. When life gets good, we reflexively add more to our plates instead of maintaining what's working. The problem isn't lack of discipline; it's trying to fit 60 hours of life into 24 hours of human capacity.2. Not all regulation tools are meant to be forever - and that's okay. Healing requires adjusting your “protocol.” Just like you don't need an ankle brace after your sprain heals, some nervous system supports are temporary medicine for acute times. The key is knowing which practices are your anchors (the ones you need even when you're well) versus which ones can naturally fade as you heal.3. Redefine discipline: Maybe it's not the choice to do more, it's the courage to do less. True discipline means saying no to opportunities even though you could squeeze them in, maintaining white space in your calendar even though it makes you anxious, and remembering that feeling good isn't permission to overwhelm yourself again. I delve into the importance of shifting our thought patterns and embracing a more constructive mindset. Reflecting on a time before the internet, I discuss how scarce access to information made the wisdom I encountered all the more impactful. Today, with an abundance of readily available resources, it's easy to overlook the depth of insight contained within these pieces of advice. My goal is to engage listeners in a slow, thoughtful exploration of how we can apply these lessons in our daily lives. The episode centers on key passages from Al-Anon literature, specifically “Just for Today,” which provides a series of affirmations designed to encourage mindfulness and a focus on the present. I highlight several passages, starting with the reminder to live through the day without becoming overwhelmed by all our problems. This notion is transformative; it encourages breaking down challenges into manageable pieces instead of feeling burdened by life's endless demands. I illustrate how this approach can create a mental space that allows for clearer thinking and creativity, paving the way for inner peace.Moving deeper, I discuss the significance of happiness as an active choice rather than a passive state. The episode affirms Abraham Lincoln's belief that happiness is often a matter of mindset, so I urge listeners to find moments of joy, even amidst challenges. Each suggestion from the "Just for Today" list serves as a prompt for self-reflection, encouraging listeners to consider their own approaches to happiness and contentment in daily life.#AnxietyCoachesPodcast, #JustForToday, #MentalWellness, #HealingJourney, #AlAnon, #AnxietyRelief, #SelfCare, #Mindfulness, #DailyPractice, #PersonalGrowth, #MindsetShift, #LetGoAndLetGod, #InnerPeace, #FindYourCalm, #PeaceOfMind, #EmotionalHealth, #StressManagement, #LiveInThePresent, #Acceptance, #BeUnafraid, #MeditationTime, #QuietHour, #LongFormReading, #MindfulLiving, #SelfCareMatters, #StrengthenYourMind, #ExerciseYourSoul, #KindnessMatters, #ProgressNotPerfection, #RecoveryIsPossible, #OneDayAtATime, #AnxiousMind, #OvercomingAnxiety, #PanicDisorder #GinaRyan #ACPSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
