From initiating outreach to boosting engagement through active listening and collaboration, the episode guides aspiring entrepreneurs on harnessing the power of PR to elevate their businesses. So, tune in to gain access to practical steps, ensuring you don't just stay in the game, but thrive in it. Listen to discover the transformative potential of PR that will leave you eager to unlock its benefits for small businesses. Episode Highlights:06:12 - I see a lot of podcasts that they're not posting on social. There isn't an engagement. If they are posting, no one's following it except the PR person like me. And so, if there's no engagement other than to say, "I think I have X number of listeners," then what are you selling to the potential audience? So, there really is a challenge in that. In the world of public relations, I consider Andrea Pass Public Relations is a client of mine. So, I'm my own client. So I'm out there like I am today, getting featured on your particular podcast because you reach an audience of business experts and entrepreneurs that would be appropriate clients for me. But it's all part of a process. Is it cut and dry on how it can work? I don't really know because clients are waiting for those analytics. And in a podcast, you don't know the analytics until the podcast could be out six months or a year.09:36 - I think it's about establishing that relationship and seeing where it could go. That this worked out really well. We'd like to have you back. Can you be a sponsor? There's got to be a create the relationship first, because there are so many podcasters today and so many homegrown journalists, people that did not necessarily go to journalism school or have an internship at a TV station, or what have you. So, I think there has to be that recognition that, yes, I might want it to be a business, but let's take the steps necessary.11:41 - In my opinion, podcasters need to listen. You might have a list of questions, but it doesn't mean that question number three has to come after question number two. If the answer to question number two incites something in an effective podcaster, then that could warrant another question, and there should be that comfort level to not have to go down a laundry list of questions a certain way. So, I think that's one of the things. The other thing, I believe that podcasters need to make sure their engagement on social media is up there. And if that means all of your friends and family, and I would have no idea that these are your friends and family.21:23 - I've also flipped things. It is my life-work balance. Work isn't first, life is first. And I think because of that, I'm able to provide a service to my clients where they see results and see results quickly. So, being a solopreneur is exciting. I'm really loving it. I'm a kid in the candy store that if I click with you and you want to hire me, great. If we don't click, that's okay, too. Not everyone is going to be everyone else's cup of tea. And that's all right.25:16 - I don't spend months and months strategizing. I start working with you, day one, I'm securing background information, images, biography, book jacket, company specifics, what your service does for other B2B companies. Day two, I'm pitching you. I'm not...
Elzie Flenard explores the diverse lanes within Public Relations (PR) with expert Andrea Pass.

PR (Public Relations) is, for many of us in business, a black box, a dark art of achieving editorial over advertorial, of earned vs paid, of authenticity vs concoction; or as some call it, "SPIN". Lahra Carey is an ex-ABC journalist who was one of the forerunners in crossing over from media to media advisory. Her networks are significant, her entrepreneurial curiosity unbounded, and her depth of knowledge on both creating good PR, and dealing with crisis management is world-class. This interview contains abundant, critical, insights and you won’t be disappointed with our deep dive into company values, storytelling, the value that PR can add to company boards, messaging for crisis management, editorial relations and more. If you don’t get value from listing to Lahra’s first-hand knowledge of how to communicate as a business, and inspiration from her own entrepreneurial journey - then I would suggest that you are probably not awake! Enjoy our discussion.

Ivana Radojevic (@iv.ra on Instagram) was born in Croatia. She spent her early childhood in Germany and moved to Edmonton at a young age. She's now fluent in three languages. Her career journey started off as a Political Scientist. She did her undergrad in Political Science and German Language and Literature, worked a few years for the government, and decided the bureaucratic life wasn't for her. That's when she decided it was time to pivot. She went back to school and completed a Public Relations (PR) diploma. With a lot of hustle and hard work, she landed a job at an eCommerce sales and marketing agency where she continues to work today. I brought her on the podcast because there is a lot of cross over between what she's done so far and what many of us simply need to do in life. It's very relevant for a business owner or a fitness professional. Ivana shared information about email lists, ecommerce, course creation, pivoting your business to the online space, marketing to the right audience, networking on Linked In, hustling your dream job, Work/Life balance, risk assessment, and more. No matter where you work or what you do, you should listen to this one. You can find Ivana on IG (@iv.ra) or Linked In by searching her name. If you enjoy this episode please share it around, and give it a good rating on your favourite platform. Thanks for supporting The Lifestyle Chase, and we'll catch you on the next one.

No doubt about it, Public Relations (PR) has changed even more than traditional marketing in the modern digital world. Of course, marketing prides itself in its IT budget and the tools it uses, and while PR has some of those tools available, the actual function of PR has changed in different and more measurable ways than ever before. PR is now firmly connected to the word communications. While PR releases are still a part of the function, content creation and a wealth of new earned media have become part of every agency’s offering as a communicator to the marketplace, employees, and investors. Plus, PR has not escaped the need for more in-depth strategic planning and program measurement. Our guest today is Kristin Hege, Founder, and CEO of Convey Communications and she does a deep dive into the exciting new world of PR as a generator of wealth for B2B companies. About Kristin Hedge Kristin Hege is the CEO & founder of Convey Communications, a strategic public relations and communications firm founded to serve B2B technology and service-based businesses. Built on Kristin’s deep expertise in helping innovative businesses thrive, Convey Communications puts strategy first before layering on thoughtfully crafted PR, media relations, content and communications strategies. Prior to founding Convey, Kristin served in key leadership roles at two previous PR agencies. She also spent time as a VP of marketing, and as a contributing columnist for a well-respected business publication. These roles contributed to her keen understanding of public relations, technology, marketing and business, and the savvy strategic insight she uses to guide clients today. Kristin is an Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University where she is currently teaching a course on PR writing. She is a long-standing board member for the Public Relations Society of America’s Phoenix chapter and has become known as a trusted speaker on topics around PR and technology. She is also a board member of Support My Club, a nonprofit that fulfills the needs of local school clubs and teams. In addition to all things PR, Kristin is a dedicated wife to her husband, Justin, and mother of two boys, Calvin and Lincoln. ___________________________________________ SLMA Radio is hosted by James Obermayer of Funnel Media Group which is a program on the Funnel Radio Channel. Doppelt lohnenswert also.
The Evolution of Public Relations (PR) has been needed for years now. In fact, I still get nearly 100 pitches per month to be on my show. 99% of them are old-school approaches to share their amazing client. It is rare that any of them actually take the time to do anything specific to me. The guest today is Donna Cravotta with Social Pivot PR. Donna shares her wisdom on the changes in the industry and what that means for you. Today I talk to Anne Buttar of Wonderland Firm PR & Social Media. Anne is the recent recipient of HopperHQ 2017 Instagrammy Award for International Social Media Marketer of the year, so she is a true authority and industry thought leader on all things PR and Social Media. Anne talks about how the small and medium business owner can use Public Relations (PR) to boost their brand, clients and sales and compete with the big boys. It is a lot simpler than we all think which a joy to any business owner’s ears is. We discuss the beginnings of Anne’s career when she was working with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and managing their PR, to how she manged to end up in Wellington and is now working with some of New Zealand’s fastest up and coming exciting business owners. Loved this chat. So much energy and so real and authentic.
Sehr spannendes Buch, unbedingt lesenswert. Influence-The Psychology of Persuasion - Robert Cialdini Auch ein sehr wichtiges Buch für mich. How an economy grows and why it crashes - Peter Schiff In diesem Buch wird ein kompletter Wirtschaftszyklus beschrieben. The E-Myth Revisited - Michael Gerber "The E-Myth" steht für "Entrepreneur-Mythos".

We met Esther in the middle of 2015. Upon getting to know her, I realized how much impact she could make on my business and those of her clients. When discussing an interview, I wanted to talk about her role in Public Relations (PR). What I didn't expect was a game changing discussion about business, and how important the role of PR in scale and success. We often believe we have to do it all, but when we entrust our promotion to a partner like Esther amazing things happen. We're free to create and innovate, while her approach literally does the heavy lifting of building a following and a solid reputation. You may go into this apathetic about PR, but you'll walk out a fan of what's possible. Esther Kiss is the producer and host of the popular podcast Born To Influence: The Marketing Show where she interviews highly successful entrepreneurs and NY Times bestselling authors about their marketing and PR strategies. She has interviewed guests such as Gary Vaynerchuk, Perry Marshall, Joe Pulizzi, Jay Baer and more. When working with clients through her one-of-a-kind publicity agency, Esther helps experts (coaches / consultants / authors / speakers / marketers) get exposure for an extended period of time by placing them on the right online media outlets. These include interviews on podcasts, online radio shows, webinars & other presentations for telesummits and private, paid mastermind groups. To help her clients get more leads and sales for their product, service or book launch, she introduces them to A-players such as the guests of Born To Influence for cross-promotion and long term collaboration. GFA091. Looking to get some tips and insights about PR in Asia - episode 91 is for you - let’s do this! The post Public Relations (PR) Strategies in Asia with Nathan Millard appeared first on Global From Asia.
Advertising is what you buy from the sales department of the media. Public Relations (PR) is what you get from the news department for free. How many ads do you suppose a good news story is worth? Q: Which of the following statements is false? 1. Thomas Edison invented electric light. 2. Guglielmo Marconi invented radio. 3. Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. Regardless of which statement you think to be untrue, you're exactly one-third correct. Because all three statements are false. Thomas Edison was a great inventor. No one is saying otherwise. His first invention was a stock ticker that was purchased by the New York Stock Exchange. With the money he made from that invention, Edison hired a staff and set up his famous laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey. Joseph Swann in England and William Sawyer in the US were also brilliant inventors, though neither of them understood the press. Like Edison, Swann and Sawyer were both working to produce electric light by running a current through a filament in a vacuum. When Edison learned they were both further along in their experiments than he was, he simply announced that he'd perfected the light bulb and immediately received all the fame and recognition. Did you know that Edison made his famous announcement more than a year before he actually produced electric light? By the time Swann and Sawyer announced their inventions, electric light was already old news, even though Edison hadn't yet actually done the thing he'd claimed. Edison's statement to the press bought him the time he needed to complete his experiments. Edison understood the power of PR. Nikola Tesla invented radio in 1893 when Marconi was just 19 years old, then wrote a series of scientific papers about exactly how to build one. Underrated to this day, Tesla was perhaps the most brilliant scientist to stride the earth since Leonardo da Vinci. But it was 19 year-old Guglielmo Marconi who knew how to talk loud and draw a crowd. Marconi read Tesla's descriptions, then built a radio and claimed it to be his own invention. Newspaper stories everywhere began touting the young genius Marconi. How certain are we that Marconi stole the credit for Tesla's invention? Nine months after Tesla's death in 1943 the Supreme Patent Court of the United States announced its decision: “Nikola Tesla is the father of wireless transmission and radio.” The Court considered Marconi's argument, examined the evidence, and concluded that Marconi was lying. Case closed. So what about Alexander Graham Bell? Was he simply another poser who knew how to work the press? At the risk of sounding harsh, I'll answer in a word: http://www.esanet.it/chez_basilio/meucci_faq.htm (Yes). The telephone was invented by an Italian immigrant named Antonio Meucci who died penniless and without heirs. Meucci didn't know how to talk loud and draw a crowd. Alexander Graham Bell did. How certain are we that Bell stole the credit for Meucci's invention? In 2001, the 107th Congress of the United States of America passed House Resolution 269. In a nutshell, that resolution acknowledges that “Meucci invented the telephone, Bell stole it from him, and we all feel real bad that Meucci got screwed.” Antonio Meucci had been dead for 112 years. During those 112 years, Bell Telephone became one of the largest and richest companies on earth. Evidently, it pays to understand the press. Like anything powerul, PR can be aimed at good or evil. Do you understand the press and how to get their attention? https://wizardacademy.org/scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=99 (Would you like to?) Roy H. Williams
