" I wonder Divya, if women today can escape a pill........a vaccine.......or being under the knife." - Effath YasminCalling this a reality of today's maternal healthcare system is not enough to point out the issues that need dire resolution because the problems are far more complex than 'one' solution being right and everything else, wrong. The issue is of the belief systems fuelled by years of medical marketing, cultural hearsay, shifting away from our traditional systems completely in the name of advancement without paying heed to the resulting loss.In this episode as we explore The language around Birth especially in the media pertaining to Home Births, we also speak about the collective 'discouraging' language around the whole spectrum of 'Womanhood', Birth and Breastfeeding with Effath Yasmin ma'am who is a pioneering Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, and registered Flower Practitioner. Read along to practice your English and to learn the English term NO-SHOW and the phrase TO SHOW UPIn this English lesson, I wanted to help you learn the English term no show. When you say someone is a no show, it means you planned to meet with them somewhere and they didn't come. Maybe you and a friend are going out for coffee and you go to the coffee shop at the time that you said you were going to meet at 7pm and then that person doesn't show up. You would say they are a no show. They decided not to go to the coffee shop and probably didn't tell you either because usually if someone tells you they're not coming, then you know why they're not. So if someone is a no show, it means that you planned to meet them somewhere and for some reason they never arrived.WANT FREE ENGLISH LESSONS? GO TO YOUTUBE AND SEARCH, "BOB THE CANADIAN"If you enjoy these lessons please consider supporting me at: http://www.patreon.com/bobthecanadianThe other phrase I wanted to teach you today is the phrase to show up. If someone is a no show, it means that they didn't show up. When you show up somewhere, it means you arrive. I show up at work every day at around quarter to eight right now and some of my colleagues show up around 7:30. They get there earlier than me. But to show up means to arrive. So if you planned to meet with someone for coffee tonight at a coffee shop at 7pm, hopefully they would show up at 7pm and you would have a cup of coffee with them. Hopefully they wouldn't be a no show.So to review a no show is a person, a term we use for a person who doesn't arrive. If I flew somewhere on an airplane and someone was supposed to pick me up at the airport and they didn't come, I would say they were a no show. My ride was a no show, they didn't come to pick me up. And to show up means to arrive somewhere. So hopefully if I go somewhere on a plane someday my ride will show up and pick me up and not be a no show. But hey, let's look at a comment from a previous video. This comment is from Axel. Black T shirt on Bob. Something new. And my response, yes, many of you noticed this. It's actually an official school shirt that I wear when I take students somewhere. Today we went on a walk to town to study local businesses. So I wear my black school shirt. I actually should have put so I wore my black school shirt. I kind of switched tenses on you there. That was a little bit of a mistake. So scratch that out. And instead it should say so I wore my black school shirt.Yes, we're encouraged as teachers when we go somewhere with students outside of the school day, that we wear school gear or school, it's not really a uniform. It's just a shirt with the school logo on it so that if people see us in town with a whole bunch of students, they know who we are.I'm just trying to stand with my back to the wind. You can see that winter has arrived. Should I pan around? Yeah, let's give you a good view of this. So, yeah, I was wearing a black shirt the other day. Not by choice. It's kind of required, I guess. It's not really required, but I think it is good when you take a whole bunch of teenagers out in public, especially if you're the teacher in charge that you wear something so it's easy to identify who is in charge of that, that trip and who's in charge of those students. Yeah, it's not actually that cold. My ear's a little bit cold right now, but it's definitely windy, so I'm trying to stand as much as I can with my back to the wind. You'll see there's a nice little bit of snow on the ground. It was almost a snow day today. Yesterday, there's a website called this called the Snow Day Predictor, and if you punch in your address, it tells you what they think the chance is of you having a snow day. And it said 99% yesterday. It said thSupport the show
Read along to practice your English and to learn the English phrases TO FLIP-FLOP and TO DO AN ABOUT-FACEIn this English lesson, I wanted to help you learn the English verb to flip flop. When you flip flop on something, it means you change your mind. Usually it means you change your mind to the exact opposite. Let's say your boss said everyone is going to get Friday off this week. And then the next day your boss says everyone has to work on Friday. We would say that your boss flip flopped. Your boss, for some reason, decided to flip flop on their previous statement. First they said everyone was going to get Friday off. Now they're saying everyone has to work on Friday. So they decided to flip flop. They changed their mind and said the exact opposite.WANT FREE ENGLISH LESSONS? GO TO YOUTUBE AND SEARCH, "BOB THE CANADIAN"If you enjoy these lessons please consider supporting me at: http://www.patreon.com/bobthecanadianThe other phrase I wanted to teach you today is to do an about face. And this means exactly the same thing. Let's say the government says you can start driving at age 15 next year. And then the next day they say, no, you have to be 16 to start driving. We would say that they did an about face. When you do an about face, it's actually the same as to flip flop. It means you change your opinion to the exact opposite. So to review, to flip flop, to do an about face, it means somebody says one thing, and then very quickly after that, they say something that's completely the opposite and completely different. But hey, let's look at a comment from a previous video. This comment is from Judit or otherwise known as Aerosmith 77. And the comment is rhyming pairs. Great. There are many of them. Thank you for the video and my response. I think I'll add them to the lineup for future videos. So thank you for that comment Judit.Yes, in the past lesson I talked about rich rich and reach and pitch and peach. And I think that maybe I'll add more things like that to these short lessons. I've been doing a lot of verb phrases in these lessons. I've been doing a lot of sayings and idioms. Maybe I'll start broadening a little bit and do some other things. Or maybe I'll flip flop. Maybe I won't change anything. We'll see. Who knows?Hey, I'm out here for a walk down this really nice path. It is the first day of school. Well, for me, the first day of school is actually over. I taught my classes this morning. I worked at school for a few hours, and now I am out here making a video for all of you. The first day went really good. I was really happy. I went to each of my classes. I was well prepared. I taught my lessons. I met some new students. And I also have some students that I've taught other things in the past, so it was nice to see them again and say hi. But all in all, how would I phrase this? I still got it. I still know what I do, what I'm doing. I still did a good job teaching the class.Sorry, there was. It just sounded like a car was coming down this path, but this is a walking path, so I'm not sure what that sound was. And I was a little worried because my tripod is way over there. This is a really nice town, though. Normally people don't steal my tripod, but it's always a little worry that I have. But anyways, what was I saying? I still got it. It's kind of an informal way of saying you think you're still good at something. It sounds a little arrogant when you say it about yourself, but, yeah, I think I still got it. I think I can do this job still. It does help that I'm able to do it part time. So a full load of teaching is three classes a day. I teach two classes and I do a couple other little things. So I'm really close to, like 75%. That's my workload. And it's nice to have a little time in thSupport the Show.

Read along to practice your English and to learn the English terms YOU'RE ONE TO TALK! and LOOK WHO'S TALKING!In this English lesson, I wanted to help you learn the English phrase, you're one to talk. This is kind of a sarcastic phrase that we use to kind of make fun of someone when they're being critical of other people, but they are doing the thing, they're being critical of themselves. That sounded a little confusing. Let me explain. If I was eating a doughnut and if I said to you as I ate the donut, those people eat too much, and I pointed to some people across the street, you could then say to me, You're one to talk! You're eating a donut. If I was to say, people in the world should eat healthier food, and then I started on my second donut, you could legitimately say to me, you're one to talk, to kind of make fun of me because I'm judging other people, but I'm doing the same action myself.WANT FREE ENGLISH LESSONS? GO TO YOUTUBE AND SEARCH, "BOB THE CANADIAN"If you enjoy these lessons please consider supporting me at: http://www.patreon.com/bobthecanadianThe other phrase I wanted to teach you today is the phrase, Look who's talking! This means exactly the same thing. The two phrases are identical today. Well, that is a loud truck, eh? Let's have a look at that. A big truck full of chips. People eat too many chips. And then you could say, look who's talking as I sit at night and eat a big bowl full of chips while I watch a basketball game on TV. That was kind of timely to have a chip truck go by. It's hard to believe a whole truck is just full of chips. But anyways, to review: You're one to talk! or Look who's talking! are both phrases we use to kind of make fun of someone when they are expressing an opinion that they are guilty of themselves. But hey, let's look at a comment from a previous video. This comment is from Konstantin. Great time, Bob. We say free cheese is only in a mousetrap. Our mowing season is yet to come, but we're getting our trimmers ready, too. And my response, I like that phrase. I'm going to start using it. Yeah, free cheese is only in a mousetrap. That's related to my lesson the other day about how there's no such thing as a free lunch. So I'm just out in town. Oh, by the way, Konstantin, thanks for that comment.I'm just out in town. Once again, pop out of work. I guess I could show you things like this. This is a sketchy alley, which you may have seen in a previous video. Behind me, though, is a really old building. I'm not sure if that building is going to last. I don't know if it's going to be torn down. This whole area here, let me give you a little bit better. Look at it. Let me spin you and let me cross the street safely here. We'll look this way and then we'll look this way. Look safe. Here we go.This whole area here, there was a sign up here that they're going to build something here. I don't know if they're going to build some houses or if they're going to do something else, but I think this building, this old building did have a little yellow sign in the window, which usually means that it's going to be torn down. So usually in Ontario, Canada, if they're going to tear a building down, especially in town, they have to tell everyone so that you have time to complain about it.So let's say I loved this building, and if it was scheduled to be torn down in a year, there would be a process where you could write letters to the town to kind of say, hey, I like that building, please don't tear it down. Or my friends and I have lots of money, we'll donate it to the town to keep that historic building open. So again, I'm not 100% sure. I'm not sure if it's going to be torn down, but I do think I remember seeing that little yellow notice sign in the window a couple of months ago. So maybe thSupport the show

And make your voices heard for which faction you would like to see next! -Isyander Everything below is for the omnissiah. But like, you can read it if you want. Just a synopsis of the video you're watching. The Raven Guard, known as the XIX Legion during the Great Crusade, epitomizes guerilla warfare and covert operations under the leadership of their enigmatic Primarch, Corvus Corax. Originating from the moon Deliverance (originally Lycaeus), they have been stalwart defenders of the Imperium of Man. The Legion's size was relatively small, with a force of 80,000 Astartes. Despite their numbers, they were formidable, employing tactics of mass sabotage, rapid strikes, and expert covert operations, honed to perfection during Corax's revolution against the Tech Guilds of Kiavahr.Corax's upbringing on Deliverance shaped the Raven Guard's future. His revolutionary actions against the oppressive Tech Guilds of Kiavahr were marked by no mercy for the captors and a brutal, short war. His cunning in battle led to the renaming of Lycaeus to Deliverance, symbolizing the liberation from slavery. The dark tower that once held the oppressors became the Raven Guard's fortress, named the Ravenspire, and the source of their future strength during the Great Crusade. The Horus Heresy brought devastation to the Raven Guard. During the infamous Drop Site Massacre on Isstvan V, the Legion's numbers were decimated from 80,000 to a mere 3,000 battle-hardened veterans, a testament to the treachery and brutality of the war. The betrayal by fellow legions marked a dark chapter in the Raven Guard's history, forcing Corax and his warriors to fight in conditions starkly contrary to their preferred tactics of stealth and surprise.Amidst the chaos, the Raptors, an elite group within the Legion, emerged as a meld of regular Astartes and Primarch DNA discovered by Corax on Terra. These warriors were stronger, faster, and tougher than their counterparts, playing a pivotal role in the battles that followed. Despite the mutations and the subsequent internal conflict that nearly tore them apart, the Raptors were given full honors and continued to fight valiantly for the Legion. In the aftermath of the Heresy, the Raven Guard continued to uphold their legacy, participating in key battles across the galaxy. Their engagements, such as the Siege of Baal, the Battle of Arissak, and confrontations against formidable foes like the Death Guard and Emperor's Children, underscore their unwavering dedication to the Imperium.Throughout their history, the Raven Guard has remained a symbol of resilience and adaptability, their very essence shaped by the trials of their Primarch and the relentless battles they have endured. Their story is not just one of warfare but also of survival and undying loyalty to their ideals and the Imperium of Man.TIMESTAMPS —— 0:00:00 Intro0:00:11 Poll Announcement0:01:26 A note on their Stealth0:02:51 The Return of the G.O.A.T.0:10:21 Corax's Upbringing0:18:57 The Raven Guard Before Corax0:28:20 The Raven Guard's Tactics0:40:52 The biggest problem constantly plagueing the Raven Guard0:47:54 Closing Thoughts—————————— TAGSRaven Guard, Corvus Corax, Warhammer 40K, Deliverance, Kiavahr, Great Crusade, Horus Heresy, Istvaan V, Drop Site Massacre, Raptors, Primarch DNA, Guerrilla Warfare, Covert Operations, Imperium of Man, Battles of the Raven Guard.————————————Opinions expressed in this video are solely those of Isyander & Koda and in no way reflect the views or opinions of Games Workshop Ltd.Artwork throughout thSupport the show
In this episode, I'm joined by Howard Berkof, Deputy Program Manager for the Navy's Littoral Combat Ship Shipbuilding Program. We discuss Howard's diverse career journey, encompassing mechanical engineering, technical sales, and government naval acquisition. We explore the significance of adaptability and an entrepreneurial mindset in large organizations such as the Navy, where innovative technologies demand a thorough understanding of organizational pain points and needs. Howard's experiences reveal that ensuring technology reliability, safety, and user-friendliness significantly impacts decision-makers willingness to invest in new advancements. Howard traces his professional journey from mechanical engineering to a successful Navy acquisition career, detailing his shift from technical sales to program management. He underscores the early importance of extracurricular engagement for network-building and leadership skills.Tune in now!Key highlights from the call[01:15] Howard's background [03:22] How Howard decided to pursue a sales position despite his engineering background[07:56] Exploring alternative career paths in engineering [15:16] Some driving factors to consider when introducing innovative technologies [19:34] Demonstrating value and addressing pain points to drive innovation adoption[22:45] Identifying and addressing latent problems and gaining buy-in for innovation[31:10] Benefits of extracurricular activities and soft skills for young engineers[36:19] Importance of building diverse and inclusive teams [40:20] Navigating the language and learning curve in a new field[43:10] Mastering situational handling and quick decision-making[45:37] Effective Task Tracking and Prioritization Strategies[50:11] What Howard does for fun[55:25] Howard's words of wisdom to college students studying engineering Notable Quotes● To be effective, you have to understand more than just the technical side, the math, science, and engineering. You have to understand the business side and the financials.● Understanding all the non-technical sides of running a company or a business is vitally important. Every industrial company out there has to understand how to run a business to be successful, or you'll go out of business. You must understand that you must take in more revenue than expense to be profitable.● You need resilience, that's for sure. You need conviction, resilience, to be committed, and you have to be in it for the long haul.● We need to identify what's the pain point, what's the need that needs to be solved, and then come up with that. Or find that technology or that innovation to solve that problem.● Many people will say no upfront or just kind of give you lip service or whatever, but you have to be persistent. You have to be resilient, find and identify those people who think like you, and get them to start speaking the same language to help you advocate. And you just have to keep at it over and over.● When you're responsible for people, the game changes significantly because everything you say and do in your actions is magnified that much more and means so much more because those people are counting on you for leadership, work guidance, and being there for them. But also you need to learn how to manage through some very difficult personal situations.● If you have a team of people who think you will fail, your organization's going to fail. Read along to practice your English and to learn the English phrases THAT'S THAT! and THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!In this English lesson I wanted to help you learn the English phrase, “That's that!” This is a funny little phrase we say when something is over or when something is done. When the workday is done, you might say, “Well, that's that! Time to go home!” When you're done having a conversation with someone, you might say, “Well, that's that! See you again tomorrow.” So it's just a way to kind of sum up that something is over. It's kind of a way to end something. I could do this when I'm done my videos as well. I could say, “Well, that's that. The lesson is over.” It's not over, though. Stick around. There's a little bit more to go.WANT FREE ENGLISH LESSONS? GO TO YOUTUBE AND SEARCH, "BOB THE CANADIAN"If you enjoy these lessons please consider supporting me at: http://www.patreon.com/bobthecanadianThe other phrase I wanted to teach you today is the phrase, “That's more like it!” This is something we say when someone starts doing something in a better way or when something turns out to be better. Let me think of a good example. If I was doing something wrong, let's say I was watering the plants wrong and then Jen said, “No, no, turn the hose this way and go slower,” She might then say, “That's more like it!” to tell me that I'm now doing it correctly. So if someone's doing something wrong and then you show them how to do it right and when they do it right, you might say, “Hey, that's more like it!” You might get this when you're learning to pronounce an English word. When you do say it right, your tutor might say to you or your English coach might say, “That's more like it!”So to review, if someone says, “That's that!”, it's just a way, kind of a funny little phrase to say when something is over or ending. And if someone says, “That's more like it!”, it must mean whatever you're doing, you're doing it right. But hey, let's look at a comment from a previous video. It's in my back pocket. Oh, my wallet's in this back pocket, this is my wallet and this is my phone in my front pocket. And these are my keys because I just got home. I don't know why I'm showing you all that, but that's what's in my pockets today. Where's the actual comment? Here it is. This is from Revolution. Thanks for this valuable information. I don't know how to pay you. And my response? You do not need to worry about how to pay me. YouTube is a win-win situation. You watch my videos, I get advertising revenue. You learn English. It's a great system. So I often mention... Sorry I dropped the comment. I often mention this to people. Some people want to thank me somehow or they want to pay me somehow for my lessons. If you want to be a member, you can, but it's not required. There are some things you can do though, that help me here on YouTube, and those would be good things to do if you did want to thank me. Number one. Watch my video from start to end, especially on my other channel. If you do that, then YouTube knows it's a good video and they're more likely to show other people the thumbnail. The other thing you can do is watch the video twice. By the way, watching my entire video helps you and me. The second thing you can do is watch the video two or three times. This also helps you a lot because the repetition helps you to remember. And it also tells YouTube that my video is a good video.By the way, don't do these two things if the video isn't a good video. If it's a boring video, just stop watching it. But if you did want to thank me, that would be a good way to do it.What else could you do? You could tell other people about this channel or my other channel. That also helps me a lot because the more people that watch, and the more of you thSupport the show

What is the meaning of our hosannas to the newborn Jesus if we, at the same time, stand silent before the Herods of our day?Transcript:Part of the reason I wrote the Juniper Bog is that frogs get a bad rap in the bible. Frogs are mentioned in the bible a total of 15 times; 14 of those times they are literally, a plague. The 15th occurrence is in the Revelation 16:13 where unclean spirits are described as looking like frogs. And trust me, it's ugly. But during the pandemic, we watched Life in Color on Netflix. Narrated by David Attenborough, it is a documentary about the many ways animals use color in their lives, and frogs were the headlining act. And that got me thinking about how much we miss when we don't look beyond our initial impression of an animal or a person. Take fugitives for example. What's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word, fugitive? Maybe it's Harrison Ford running from a literal trainwreck or hiding in a St. Patrick's Day parade. But chances are, the word fugitive, all by itself, has a negative connotation. We have laws that forbid concealing people from arrest, concealing an escaped prisoner, fleeing to avoid giving testimony or avoiding prosecution, and they are all detailed in the U.S. Code under the heading: Fugitives from Justice. But according to Webster, a fugitive is merely “running away or intending flight” and the first example given is, “a fugitive slave.” Which gives me pause. If someone is being harshly treated, abused, held against their will, and they escape, and run, ought we label them as a “fugitive?”Today's Gospel is often referred to as the Holy Family's flight to Egypt. Flight. They have fled Bethlehem as recommended by an angel, in a dream, to Joseph. They are fleeing because Herod has issued an edict that all baby boys under the age of two should be killed; his strategy? If Jesus was a baby boy, and all the baby boys were killed, surely Jesus, who threatened Herod, even as an infant, would be killed as well. To protect Jesus, Joseph takes Mary and Jesus and flees to Egypt. They were, by definition, fugitives. We tend to focus on the joyful reaction of angels and shepherds and magi to the birth of Jesus, but the truth is that Jesus birth so frightened grown men in power, that the plot to kill him began while he was still an infant. And this makes sense because when the Good News of Jesus Christ , including his birth, is proclaimed in the world, it brings fear and loathing to those whose lives are focused on the accumulation and maintenance of power. And that brings me to fulfillment. Matthew views Jesus' escape to and return from Egypt as a fulfillment of Hosea 11:1, “Out of Egypt I called my son” (2:15). It also hearkens back to the first exodus, with Israel being identified as God's son. In verse 18 Matthew cites Jeremiah 31:15 to express the horror of Herod's slaughter of the innocents. We dare not imagine the blood-curdling screams and inconsolable sobbing throughout the region as little boys were mercilessly killed. Yet the use of this text signals a glimpse of hope. In Jeremiah's day, as the Israelites were taken into captivity, on leaving Jerusalem they would have passed by Ramah, a town six miles to the north, on the way to Babylon. Rachel, the beloved wife of Jacob and mother of Israel, wept over this national tragedy. If we continue on in Jeremiah 31, however, we will hear God's words of comfort, his new covenant with Israel, and his commitment to his people's salvation. The third citation, “He will be called a Nazorean” (2:23), claims that Joseph's decision to settle his family in Nazareth was also prophetically anticipated. Oddly, these exact words cannot be found in the Hebrew Scriptures. Could this be why Matthew uses “through the prophets” in thSupport the show
[[:encoded, "We're all writers, crafting a lengthy narrative with the best chapters possible. But often, we create loopholes in our story of success ourselves. Do you know how? By letting our limiting beliefs hold us back from achieving what is within our grasp. nnLimiting beliefs are misconstrued thoughts, with no foundation or reality. They stem from certain bad experiences from the past, hereditary experiences, or from societal and cultural restrictions. But the fact is that limiting beliefs hold us back. They don't allow us the grand and successful ending your truly deserve. nnIf you are in a quest to overcome any limiting beliefs you might have, keep listening in. I'm here to tell you how self-talk is the key to overcoming them and finding your freedom. nnOvercome Limiting Beliefs - Here's HownMany of us consciously or unconsciously tend to develop limiting beliefs in childhood or teenage years. They may stem from a devastating personal experience or by seeing the experiences of others in our circle. Fact is that these become a permanent part of our personality by the time we have matured. nnThe unfortunate consequence of failing to overcome our limiting beliefs is that we fail to play big and shine like we could have. We let the limiting mindset pull us back from our calling, such as our business venture, for example. nnWhen you shift from your limiting beliefs, you begin experiencing greater victories, start feeling happier, and more fulfilled. Let's explore how you can shift from limiting beliefs to having an empowering mindset.nn1. Pause to Think nWhenever you plan a new venture, a new break, or a new change and fears erupt, then pause and reflect on your fears. Remind yourself that you are simply in a low-mood and thinking about your upcoming activity is not the right thing to do at the moment. nn2. Address each Limiting BeliefnThe best way to do this is to write down each limiting belief. For example, if you are planning to launch a vegan food line, some of the limiting beliefs you could have are:nn•tI might not be able to make the food taste goodn•tMy vegan food will not appeal to the food lovers n•tMeat eaters will not come to my business and my venture will failn•tI am too old to experiment with this new venturennNow while all these may be valid concerns, you cannot however, allow these to be your limiting beliefs. It is true that meat lovers can take time or have difficulty adjusting to an all plant-based diet. Mike Capuzzi is the Founder of Bite-Size Books, a company that helps entrepreneurs establish themselves as an authority in their field by writing a book based on their expertise. Mike began his journey as an entrepreneur in the sales industry. He wrote a book based on his wealth of knowledge that he sent out to prospective clients before his initial meetings and realized how that book helped him close deals with ease. Today, Mike has authored over 15 books, two of which are on the best sellers list on Amazon.Mike is also the host of the successful podcast, The Author Factor. He's here today to share his One Big Tip that can launch your career and help you achieve top status, authoring a book based on your expertise. What's unique about books is that they have a way of elevating your knowledge and making you an expert. Mike found that most people can and will read a short, direct-to-the-point book, especially if it won't take more than a couple of hours to read. What Mike created is a formula for the average business person to be able to write a book using their expertise within 12 weeks. The strategy is actually about creating marketing collateral that will last for years. It's about creating a lead magnet to attract your target audience and bringing them into your world as your client, student, group member, and more. This is the shift in focus, as Mike likes to call it. The end goal is not to sell thousands of books. The purpose is to write a book that brings in hundreds of clients so you can sell them your expertise, product, or service. A strategy that Mike wants his clients to use is to implement touch points in their book. You grab a potential client's attention by creating a book containing marketing collateral. The book should recommend they download a worksheet or sign up for a newsletter. These are examples of ways to use your short book to bring people into your world. Think of your short book as a conversation starter. Once you decide to write your book as the author, you need to figure out how you'll distribute it. Will you create a tripwire offer, exchanging the book for an email address, or will you charge shipping and handling fees at $20 and sell the book for free (a self-liquidating offer). You need to determine the best way to distribute your marketing collateral. Because your main goal is not to monetize the book itself, the less you can charge for it, the better. You always need to keep in mind that the purpose of the book is to acquire your target audience as customers. It's part of getting them to your brand or business.Another point that Mike touches on is the value of being an Amazon best-selling author. With over 16,000 different categories of books within the amazon books section, there are at least that many number one best sellers. You need to look at it from a layman's perspective. Being an Amazon best seller still holds a lot of statuses. However, the algorithm to become one is not that difficult a feat. Writing a short book can help all entrepreneurs, from small business owners to coaches writing to promote a launch. They can also help raise awareness for a good cause or a charity. When you write a book, you have to look at it as part of a long-term strategy. It's marketing collateral that you should be able to rely on for years to come. If you're looking to establish yourself as an authority in your field and have an area of expertise that you would like to share with prospects, consider writing a short book!In this episode:[2:45] Mike explains how he started writing his first bookYou never know where the next big thing will come fromBe open to new opportunities[6:05] Books are about establishing authority in your fieldWhen you write a book to establish authority in your field, you shouldn't worry about thSupport the show

Liam Megill is one of the brains behind AeroDelft, which is actually not a startup but a student-led organization created in Delft University of Technology or TU Delft in Germany with the dream of making aviation a more sustainable industry. With their motto being “Our future flies into clean skies,” they have created a liquid hydrogen-powered aircraft prototype in the hopes that the big players will follow suit and work towards building airplanes that run on sustainable fuels. What started as a student team designing human-powered submarines came the idea to form a student team focused on building aircrafts. Not only were they able to experiment with reducing drag and increasing efficiency by drilling holes onto the sides of an airplane's wings, but they were also ultimately able to reduce emissions by using liquid hydrogen as their fuel. Why liquid hydrogen? Well, one of the reasons is because it is energy-dense. In fact, liquid hydrogen is already being used in rockets albeit in different ways. With rockets, the liquid hydrogen is combusted, however, for AeroDelft, they plan on using it in a fuel cell. One of the problems that comes with using liquid hydrogen is its storage, as it needs to be stored at extremely low temperatures. And though its storage temperature is –250 degrees Celsius, it won't run at this same temperature, so it needs to be cooled for their liquid hydrogen-powered fuel cell to run. But despite these challenges, they have successfully built a remote-controlled prototype of a liquid hydrogen-powered aircraft that is a third of the size of an actual aircraft.Because they are still in the process of figuring out the direction they want to take AeroDelft in in terms of turning it into a startup, they decided for AeroDelft to remain as a student team for now to give more students the opportunity to be a part of this development. However, Liams says that creating a spinoff from AeroDelft is something they are considering, as that is another challenge they face: not having any funding since they are not a startup. For the aviation industry, Liam says 10 years feels like just a day, since it takes that much time to build or design a new aircraft. And so, in 10 years, he hopes to see the first hydrogen-powered aircraft in the skies as well as reduced emissions and fuel consumption. He also talks about what companies are doing, such as Airbus with their ZEROe project which aims to produce the world's first zero-emission aircraft by 2035. Liam's key lessons and quotes from this episode were:“There are different solutions to each problem, and we think about battery powers, think about hydrogen, think about sustainable aviation fuels, they will all play a major part in making aviation more sustainable.” (16:08)“There are different solutions to each problem, and we think about battery powers, think about hydrogen, think about sustainable aviation fuels, they will all play a major part in making aviation more sustainable.” (19:43)“We do want to share what we're doing, because we're not here to make a profit. We are a student team. We're a nonprofit organization. So, we're here with our partners together to show that it's feasible and then also to give that knowledge on to people who are more able or companies who are more able to put this into practice on a larger scale.” (22:53)“We want to fly in clean skies. That's how the future looks like, so we want to do everything we can to make that happen.” (23:52)“10 years for aviation is quite an interesting question, because essentially, it's tomorrow for the aviation world.” (32:21)“I would say that 10 years from now, I would expect that we see thSupport the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/impacthustlers)

As Afghanistan falls to the Taliban, a humanitarian crisis is quickly unfolding in the country. Hundreds of thousands of individuals have been displaced, with women and girls making up 80 percent of those displaced individuals. Gayatri Patel, Vice President for External Relations at the Women's Refugee Commission, sits down to talk with us about the situation unfolding in Afghanistan, what it means for women and girls, and what we can do to help.Currently, there's an urgent need to get people out of Afghanistan due to the ongoing conflict coupled with a major drought and ongoing impacts of Covid. Additionally, there is a growing humanitarian crisis of over 500,000 people that are internally displaced—they have left their homes in an effort to flee the Taliban, or their homes have been destroyed. All border crossing stations are controlled by the Taliban, making escape routes out of the country only possible by air. This makes shelter, food, and primary health services resources that are urgently needed by those in Afghanistan. These impacts of humanitarian crises are also disproportionately felt by women and girls, who also experience lack of access to sexual and reproductive health services, lack of access to education, and increased rates of gender-based violence.Over the last twenty years, women and girls in Afghanistan have gone to school, worked, accessed critical health care, and become leaders. As the Taliban has taken over the country and Afghanistan's government has fallen, those rights have been pulled back—in fact, there are reports of increased rates of sexual violence and forced marriage, women and girls being barred from schools and workplaces, and women and girls being forced to receive permission from male relatives to leave the home. The international community must step up to support refugees from Afghanistan, without caps or quotas. The U.S. government can also ensure the safe evacuation of many women leaders by surging support for visa processing, securing routes to airports, and more. Survivors of gender-based violence, which is on the rise, need increased support. This includes medical care, psychosocial care, and assistance in finding work.LinksWomen's Refugee Commission on FacebookWomen's Refugee Commission statement on the humanitarian crisis in AfghanistanWomen's Refugee Commission Afghanistan Resource PageAdvocacy and Support toolkitCARE Action – Support Afghanistan campaignCoalition to End Violence Against Women and Girls Sign-On letterTake ActionFollow the Women's Refugee Commission on Twitter and Facebook. It's important for the administration to continue to hear how important it is to get all people at-risk in Afghanistan out of the country. Men need testosterone. The benefits are enormous and the risks almost nonexistent. To learn how the bad press was contrived, read the Killing Testosterone With Fake News chapter later. Steven is an 82-year-old retired CEO of a major media company: I had lost all strength, and I was sitting in a wheelchair in a Palm Springs nursing home. The staff had to lift me in and out of bed. I was inches from being snuffed out. Then my doctor started coming in every week and giving me testosterone shots. In six weeks, I stood up and walked out of there, back into my life. (Note: this can also work for women.)Men's symptoms: Starting around thirty years old, testosterone blood levels fall about a percent a year. Muscular strength, sexuality, and energy levels slowly decrease. Recovery from exercise gets slower, and some men notice reduced intellectual capabilities. Bone density falls, but fractures are less common in men than women since men start higher. Atrial fibrillation and stroke are more common with low testosterone levels. Skin problems, heart disease, hot flashes, dental issues, and irritability increase as testosterone declines. Some of these disorders must be treated early or they are irreversible. Sam is a beloved 83-year-old physician: I was about to give up. I just had a knee replacement, and I have osteoporosis. The author sent me some cream testosterone as a gift, and now I think I'm going to live fifteen more years! I can't thank him enough, and I'm indebted to him forever for his kindness. I'm doing well, much better than I ever expected.Testosterone has many benefits. Using it gradually improves health over at least a decade. Testosterone supplementation has the following effects:✪ Strength increases, cholesterol falls, and weight loss is progressive. ✪ Sexuality improves—morning erections return, for example. ✪ Heart disease risks decline. ✪ Diabetes and migraine headaches get better and are sometimes cured. ✪ Testosterone supplementation decreases anxiety and improves mood.Testosterone levels also relate to health:✪ Older men with higher testosterone levels had better results on intellectual testing.✪ Lower levels were associated with earlier death in men. They correlated also with coronary disease.Testosterone transforms into estrogen in both men and women. This “female” hormone helps sexuality in either sex and protects the heart better than any other hormone. Sometimes estrogen blood levels do not rise to those of younger men even with aggressive testosterone supplementation. So a few physicians are starting to prescribe estradiol for men. This will vastly improve cholesterol numbers.Testosterone has a few side effects. The study focused on New Year's resolutions, but it nevertheless paints a shocking picture of how we as a society tend to flippantly set goals without ever having a true intention of fulfilling those dreams and plans. nnSo, what did the elite eight percent do to set themselves apart from their peers? nn1. So you can learn and play with your hosts make dirty and messy. You know, you go to an orthopedic doctor, especially in the private sector, I went to one about my shoulder, three of them here in Kuwait. And they all said I needed surgery. And it was one doctor in the states who said, No, here's a cortisone shot, here's three months of rehab surgeries, your last resort, you should never do that at your age, unless it's absolutely needed. It's funny because here, you just go right under in the night, three doctors wanted to cut me open. You know, after the first physical, 00:46we built our system based on secondary and tertiary care, meaning specialty care, right hospital care, we've put the hospital in the center of our health care system, which is the wrong thing to do. We are always ranked in the top five most diabetic and obese nations in the world, despite pouring billions every year into health care. But despite being building the biggest hospitals in the world, that doesn't work. 01:05There's a lot of people still like no, I want to see you face to face. I figured you know, by the time they'll get into a crisis, they'll have to use me online. But the idea is, is that this sense of confidentiality, this sense of things I can tell you because it's online, this fear of I'm being recorded, I have to constantly remind them, it's not like that confidentiality secured, you're not going to be recorded. So yes, I think people need to just be comfortable with this is the way it is. 01:34All this and more in today's episode. Hey, everybody, welcome to this episode of the project. And in this episode, dr. D is going to talk about how she almost failed me. But 01:44more importantly, everyone knows I almost failed, you know, and then I passed you because I felt sorry for you. Seriously, I did. I was like you know you're crying you're begging? 01:55Oh, that is no, that is not you. Let me introduce the guests that we're not listening to this again, go back to one of the previous episodes you'll hear, we're gonna introduce the guest tonight's guest is someone that I gained a lot of respect for within the first 10 seconds of meeting him on zoom. He's the CEO of the Sati app application here in Kuwait. I believe you guys are based here in Kuwait. They deal with all things medical and psychological, which is something that we're definitely going to get into later. And the reason why this man went over my respect within the first 10 seconds of meeting him is because he said he did not like to be called doctor, I wish everyone in the Middle East would take that approach, instead of putting doctor on their credit cards, doctor on their air flight tickets. And mainly it's the people with PhDs is not true. That is so true is not true. No. 02:44No, maybe because he is more Western. But most of the people in this part of the world, maybe then Diem can say that most of the people here the real doctors, not the PhDs, they really love their doctor title seriously. Hi, this is Carol Bush co-host of The Savvy Scribe podcast, and in today's Quick Win, I'd like to share three simple actions you can take this week to streamline the process of getting paid so your business can grow and you can pay your bills. Let's get started. Carol: 01:20 One, contracts are vital. Let's face it guys, if you don't have a contract in place, you don't really have a leg to stand on.
