Die künstliche Intelligenz hat in den vergangenen Monaten unglaubliche Sprünge gemacht. Sie kann inzwischen nicht mehr nur analysieren oder sortieren – sondern schreibt Texte, komponiert Musikstücke oder entwirft Bilder. Die KI generiert auch sogenannte Deep Fakes, also künstlich erzeugte oder bearbeitete Bilder, Videos und Audios. Fluten immer mehr davon das Internet, "haben wir irgendwann die Situation, dass die Wahrheit zu einer Grauzone wird", sagt Miriam Meckel. Dann sei nicht mehr klar, was Fakt ist und was Fiktion. Meckel ist Professorin für Kommunikationsmanagement und hat sich intensiv mit den Risiken, aber auch mit den Chancen künstlicher Intelligenz beschäftigt. Gemeinsam mit der Sozialwissenschafterin Lea Steinecker hat sie dazu kürzlich auch ein Buch veröffentlicht: "Alles überall auf einmal. Wie Künstliche Intelligenz unsere Welt verändert und was wir dabei gewinnen können." Mit Dmitrij Kapitelman spricht er über seinen Werdegang und wie er vom "Untergrund" zur höchsten politischen Verhandlungsebene in der DDR aufstieg. Dort war er Teil der einzigen frei gewählten Volkskammer, die sich als erste offiziell der deutschen Schuld und Verantwortung an der Schoa stellte, was die SED nie tat. Die beiden sprechen über die bekannte Rede von Michail Gorbatschow zu Abrüstung, Sicherheitspolitik und politischem Kurswechsel vor der UNO am 7. Dezember 1988 und die Gründung der Sozialdemokratischen Partei (später SPD), die sich für freie Wahlen einsetzte. Meckel erzählt außerdem, wann ihm bewusst wurde, dass es mit der Demokratie klappen würde, warum es danach jedoch komplizierter werden sollte. Dabei teilt er seine Einheitsgeschichte, eine, die ansonsten eher selten erzählt wird: nämlich von der Opposition zum Außenminister. Außerdem geht es um die Aufnahme der Jüdinnen*Juden in die DDR, die in der ehemaligen Sowjetunion in Gefahr waren und flüchten mussten, und wie die Initiative dazu entstand. Denn die Bundesregierung war in ihren Anfängen zunächst nicht bereit, Jüdinnen*Juden aus dem Ausland zu helfen, da sie Deutschland nicht als Einwanderungsland ansah.

Abstract: Opioid use disorder (OUD) is a public health crisis currently being exacerbated by increased rates of use and overdose of synthetic opioids, primarily fentanyl. Therefore, the identification of novel biomarkers and treatment strategies to reduce problematic fentanyl use and relapse to fentanyl taking is critical. In recent years, there has been a growing body of work demonstrating that the gut microbiome can serve as a potent modulator of the behavioral and transcriptional responses to both stimulants and opioids. Here, we advance this work to define how manipulations of the microbiome drive fentanyl intake and fentanyl seeking in a translationally relevant drug self-administration model. Additionally, we utilize global proteomic analysis of the nucleus accumbens following microbiome manipulation and fentanyl administration to define how microbiome status alters the functional proteomic landscape in this key limbic substructure. These findings establish clear relevance for gut-brain signaling in OUD, and lay foundations for further translational work in this space. Copy rights belong to original authors. Eine gewisse „Moskau-Fixierung“ in der deutschen Politik habe dazu geführt, die osteuropäischen Länder zu vernachlässigen, so der ehemalige SPD-Politiker Markus Meckel im SWR2 Gespräch. Insofern sei der Krieg in der Ukraine auch Ergebnis unserer Politik.
In der neuen Folge von Handelsblatt Disrupt sprechen Chefredakteur Sebastian Matthes und Miriam Meckel, Publizistin und Gründerin der Bildungsplattform ada, über die Zeitenwende im Technologiesektor und über die Frage, wie neue Technologien das Denken und Handeln von Menschen beeinflussen. „Technologie ist in der Wahrnehmung vieler Menschen angekommen, wo sie hingehört“, sagt Meckel – nämlich „als ein Medium des zivilisatorischen Umbruchs“. Nie zuvor habe Technologie dabei - positiv wie negativ – so sehr im Zentrum von Geopolitik gestanden wie heute. Ein besonders auffälliges Beispiel dafür sei der Skandal um die chinesische Videoplattform Tiktok, die im Verdacht steht, ihre Nutzerinnen und Nutzer durch die Regierung zu überwachen, sagt Meckel. Oder Milliardäre, die sich mithilfe neuer Technologien auf einen Weltuntergang vorbereiten. Das Gespräch geht aber weit über die düsteren Szenarien hinaus. Meckel und Matthes sprechen auch über soziologische Fragen, etwa über die Skepsis vieler Deutscher gegenüber neuen Technologien, digitale Defizite in der Politik und die Frage, ob Künstliche Intelligenz ein Bewusstsein hat. Dies sei eine der komplexesten Fragen unserer Zeit, findet Meckel, weil nicht einmal das menschliche Bewusstsein auch nur annähernd verstanden wurde. Deshalb lasse sich nur spekulieren: „Vielleicht gibt es so etwas wie ein mathematisches Bewusstsein“, das die Künstliche Intelligenz auf Basis ihrer Daten-, Berechnungs- und Analytikkompetenz entwickeln könne, sagt sie. Statt diese Kompetenz aber einer Maschine zuzuschreiben, sagt Meckel, sollten sich die Menschen zunächst damit beschäftigen, „sich selbst ein bisschen besser zu verstehen und das eigene Bewusstsein zu erforschen“. It is often due to passage of a hard constipated stool. Intussusception can occur acutely, it is more likely to be reported as colicky pain and the stool classically has the appearance of red currant jelly. Meckel diverticula, when acute, are associated with central abdominal pain and can cause sufficient blood loss and result in haemodynamic instability, as opposed to spotting on the toilet paper. Henoch-Schönlein purpura is also associated with intussusception and bloody stools (as opposed to spotting) and often presents with abdominal pain, vasculitic rash and joint pain and swelling. Appendicitis classically presents as a central abdominal pain that localises to the right iliac fossa. It is associated with fever, nausea and vomiting and diarrhoea but is less likely to cause spotting.Cushingoid:Key to answering this question is understanding that Cushing’s syndrome is caused by excess activation of glucocorticoid receptors.Most commonly, Cushing’s syndrome is iatrogenic due to exogenous administration of glucocorticoids.Endogenous forms of Cushing’s syndrome are due to over-production of cortisol by the adrenal glands as a result of adrenal tumour, excess adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) secretion by a pituitary tumour (Cushing’s disease), or ectopic ACTH production by some other tumour. In ACTH-secreting tumours, there is likely to be impaired negative feedback sensitivity to cortisol, unlike in ACTH-secreting pituitary tumours, which retain this sensitivity.So patients would most likely exhibit elevated ACTH, elevated cortisol, reduced serum potassium.This inappropriately elevated ACTH is associated with pigmentation changes, as it binds to melanocortin-1 receptors in skin melanocytes. Meckel war Delegierter der Ökumenischen Versammlung „Frieden – Gerechtigkeit – Bewahrung der Schöpfung“. Am 7. Oktober 1989 gründete er mit anderen die sozialdemokratische Partei der DDR (SDP). Her career involved multiple techniques in psychotherapy including Holotropic Breathwork, hypnotherapy and family constellation work. Everyone knows there's just too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere — and we're heating up the planet at an unprecedented pace. More than 20 years ago, Norwegians helped pioneer an approach to dealing with CO2 that's still ongoing today— they captured it and pumped it into a rock formation deep under the sea. Now the Norwegian government is building on those decades of experience with a large-scale carbon capture and storage project called Longship. Will it work? Is it safe? Dawin Meckel beschreibt, wie er in den Finanzzentren in London seine Bilder fand und wie ein Gefühl des Ausgeschlossen-Seins zum Motiv wurde. Im Gespräch legt er offen, welcher Moment eine wichtige Schlüsselrolle spielte und warum auf seinen Bildern nie der Horizont zu sehen ist. Dawin Meckel wurde 1977 in Lich geboren und ist seit 2004 Mitglied von OSTKREUZ. Für seine Arbeit „Die Wand“ reiste er in die Finanzzentren Londons. Dort fotografierte er Oberflächen – die der Architektur, aber auch die der Menschen, die sich dort bewegen.
Die Deutsche Einheit 1990 ist eine Glücksstunde der Deutschen, davon ist Markus Meckel überzeugt. Und davon, dass die DDR-Bürger aufrechten Gangs in die deutsche Einheit gegangen sind. Er selbst hat nicht unerheblichen Anteil daran. Zum 30. Jahrestag der Deutschen Einheit zieht Markus Meckel Bilanz – eine ganz persönliche und eine politische.

Abstract: Recent evidence has demonstrated that the gut microbiome has marked effects on neuronal function and behavior. Disturbances to microbial populations within the gut have been linked to myriad models of neuropsychiatric disorders. However, the role of the microbiome in substance use disorders remains understudied. Here we show that animals with their gut microbiome depleted by non-absorbable antibiotics (Abx) exhibit decreased formation of morphine conditioned place preference and demonstrate marked changes in gene expression within the nucleus accumbens (NAc) in response to morphine. Replacement of short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) metabolites, which are reduced by microbiome knockdown, reversed the behavioral and transcriptional effects of microbiome depletion. This identifies SCFA as the crucial mediators of microbiome-brain communication responsible for the effects on morphine reward caused by microbiome knockdown. These studies add important new behavioral, molecular, and mechanistic insight to the role of gut-brain signaling in substance use disorders. Copy rights belong to original authors. Markus Meckel war eine der zentralen Figuren der Oppositionsbewegung in der DDR, Akteur der Friedlichen Revolution von 1989 und Gestalter des Prozesses zur deutschen Einheit. Der langjährige Bundestagsabgeordnete und Außenpolitiker engagiert sich bis heute aktiv für eine europäisch orientierte Erinnerungskultur und die Aufarbeitung der Diktaturen des 20. Jahrhunderts, nicht zuletzt als Ratsvorsitzender der Bundesstiftung zur Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur. Am 10. September 2020 stellte er sein Buch „Zu wandeln die Zeiten“ in der Bundesstiftung Aufarbeitung vor, gemeinsam im Gespräch mit Klara Geywitz, Nikolaus Schneider und Jörg von Bilavsky.
Für den früheren DDR-Bürgerrechtler und Vorsitzenden der Deutsch-Belarussischen Gesellschaft, Markus Meckel, ist klar: "Belarus braucht Hilfe, um es nicht in die völlige Abhängigkeit Russlands fallen zu lassen. Die Unabhängigkeit von Belarus ist ein wesentlicher europäischer Wert." Man müsse das Gespräch suchen, auch mit der Oppositionskandidatin Swetlana Tichanowskaja. "Sie ist das Gesicht dieses Aufbruchs, der durchs Land geht", so Meckel im Gespräch mit SWR Aktuell-Moderator Stefan Eich.
Der im Januar verstorbene Dichter und Grafiker Christoph Meckel war ein leidenschaftlicher Verfechter der Autonomie der Kunst und ein genialischer Einzelgänger. Ein posthum veröffentlichter Band mit Texten aus vier Jahrzehnten zeigt die ungeheuer vielfältige Schaffenskraft des Malerpoeten. Abstract: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a serious neurodevelopmental disorder with a very high prevalence rate and a chronic disease course beginning in early childhood. Despite the tremendous burden of ASD, there are currently no disease-modifying treatments. Like many neuropsychiatric illnesses ASD has a complex pathophysiology driven by genetic and environmental factors. There is interest in identifying modifiable environmental factors as potential translational research strategies for development of therapeutics for ASD. A rapidly growing body of research demonstrates that the resident bacteria of the gastrointestinal tract, collectively the gut microbiome, have profound influence on brain and behavior. This gut-brain signaling pathway is highly relevant to ASD as the microbiome begins to form at birth, is heavily influenced by environmental factors throughout early life, and begins to stabilize at the same stage of development that symptoms of ASD begin to develop. To investigate potential gene x microbiome interactions in a model of ASD, we utilized mutant mice carrying a deletion of the ASD-associated Shank3 gene (Shank3KO), which clinically manifests as Phelan-McDermid syndrome, as a model for genetic risk of ASD. Analysis of the gut microbiome of Shank3KO mice demonstrated genotype effects on both microbiome composition and metabolite production. Behaviorally, Shank3KO mice demonstrate decreased social interactions and have altered anxiety and compulsive-like behaviors. Disruption of the microbiome with broad spectrum antibiotics lead to an exacerbation of all behavioral phenotypes in Shank3KO mice. Additionally, we found that Shank3KO mice had markedly increased changes in gene expression in the prefrontal cortex following microbiome depletion. Abdominal pain is common; so are strongly held myths and legends about what is concerning, and what is not. One of our largest responsibilities in the Emergency Department is sorting out benign from surgical or medical causes of abdominal pain. Morbidity and mortality varies by age and condition. Abdominal Surgical Emergencies in Children: A Relative Timeline General Advice Neonate (birth to one month) Necrotizing Enterocolitis Pneumatosis Intestinalis. Essentials: Typically presents in 1st week of life (case reports to 6 months in chronically ill children) Extend suspicion longer in NICU graduates Up to 10% of all cases of necrotizing enterocolitis are in full-term children Pathophysiology is unknown, but likely a translocation of bacteria Diagnosis: Feeding intolerance, abdominal distention Abdominal XR: pneumatosis intestinalis Management: IV access, NG tube, broad-spectrum antibiotics, surgery consult, ICU admission Intestinal Malrotation with Volvulus Essentials: Corkscrew Sign in Malrotation with Volvulus Bilious vomiting (80-100%) in the 1st month; especially in the 1st week May look well initially, then rapidly present in shock Ladd’s bands: abnormally high tethering of cecum to abdominal wall; peristalsis, volvulus, ischemia Diagnosis: History of bilious emesis is sufficient to involve surgeons Upper GI series: corkscrew appearance US (if ordered) may show abnormal orientation of and/or flow to superior mesenteric artery and vein Management: Stat surgical consult IV access, resuscitation, NG tube to decompress (bowel wall perfusion at risk, distention worsens) Hirschprung Disease Essentials: Problem in migration of neural crest cells Aganglionic colon (80% rectosigmoid; 15-20% proximal to sigmoid; 5% total colonic aganglionosis) colon (known as short-segment disease) Poor to no peristalsis: constipation, perforation, and/or sepsis Diagnosis: May be diagnosed early as “failure to pass meconium in 1st 48 hours” In ED, presents as either bowel obstruction or enterocolitis Contrast enema Beware of the toxic megacolon (vomiting, distention, sepsis) Management: Resuscitation, antibiotics, NG tube decompression, surgical consultation; stable patients may need rectal biopsy for confirmation Staged surgery (abdominoperineal pull-through with diverting colostomy, subsequent anastomosis) versus one-stage repair. Infant and Toddler (1 month to 2 years) Pyloric Stenosis Essentials: Hypertrophy of pyloric sphincter; genetic, environmental, exposure factorsString Sign in Pyloric Stenosis. Diagnosis: Hungry, hungry, not-so-hippos; they want to eat all of the time, but cannot keep things down Poor weight gain (less than 20-30 g/day) US: “π–loric stenosis” (3.14); pylorus dimensions > 3 mm x 14 mm UGI: “string sign” Management: Trial of medical treatment with oral atropine via NGT (muscarinic effects decrease pyloric tone) Ramstedt pyloromyotomy (definitive) Intussusception Essentials: Majority (90%) ileocolic; no pathological lead point Small minority (4%) ileoileocolic due to lead point: Meckel’s diverticulum, polyp, Peyer’s patches, Henoch-Schönlein purpura (intestinal hematoma) Diagnosis: Target Sign (Donut Sign). Ultrasound sensitivity and specificity near 100% in experienced hands Abdominal XR may show non-specific signs; used mainly to screen for perforation before reduction Management: Hydrostatic enema: contrast (barium or water-soluble contrast with fluoroscopy) or saline (with ultrasound) Air-contrast enema: air or carbon dioxide (with either fluoroscopy or ultrasound); higher risk for perforation than hydrostatic (1% risk), but generally safer than perforation from contrast Consider involving surgical service early (precaution before reduction) Traditional disposition is admission; controversial: home discharge from ED Young Child and Older (2 years and up) Appendicitis Essentials: Appendicitis occurs in all ages, but rarer in infants. Infants do not have fecalith; rather they have some other anatomic or congenital condition. More common in school-aged children (5-12 years) and adolescents Younger children present atypically, more likely to have perforated when diagnosed. Diagnosis: Non-specific signs and symptoms Often have abdominal pain first; vomiting comes later Location/orientation of appendix varies Appendicitis scores vary in their performance Respect fever and abdominal pain Management: Traditional: surgical On the horizon: identification of low-risk children who may benefit from trial of antibiotics If perforated, interval appendectomy (IV antibiotics via PICC for 4-6 weeks, then surgery) Obstruction SBO. Blood in the vomit. Blood in the stool. Blood in the diaper. How far do I go in my investigation? What do I really have to worry about? The differential diagnosis of GI bleeding in children is broad. (Here is the complete differential diagnosis) In the ED, we can simplify by categorizing by age and appearance. Neonates GI bleeding in the neonate (less than one month of age) is serious until proven otherwise. Well appearing? If this in obvious anal fissure, then no further work-up is necessary. Counsel on proper feeding and follow-up. Evaluate for potential swallowed maternal blood by examining mother with a chaperone, then perform the Apt test. Consider allergic proctocolitis if the child is well. Counsel the breastfeeding mother on diet modification. If formula fed, the child should feed through thus until the primary care physician decides whether to start the sticky process of changing up formulas. If unclear, consider a complete blood count and/or further work-up and admission if unwell. Ill Appearing? The three most dangerous diagnoses in the neonate are necrotizing enterocolitis, malrotation with volvulus, and inherited coagulopathy. It is important to note that 15% of necrotizing enterocolitis occurs in full-term babies; malrotation can present simply in shock, without initial overt bleed. Inherited conditions may not be known to the family early on, as they have not yet heard back from the neonatal screening done at birth. Pitfalls in the neonate and infant Genitourinary bleeding; hematuria; or uric acid crystals: the classic fake out here is the orange or pink stained diaper – that is actually residue from deposits of uric acid crystals in the urine, an almost always benign phenomenon in which the concentrated crystals oxidize and stain the diaper, frightening the parents. Think -- pink stain, without clot: Infants and Young Children Well appearing? Through the first year to age 5, things like infectious colitis and gastritis are common. Ill appearing? Think about intussusception, cryptic liver disease, or esophageal bleeding. Check the skin – is that a dark purple palpable rash on the buttocks? Think Henoch-Schoenlein purpura. Focus: Meckel's Diverticulum Meckel’s diverticulum is the most common congenital malformation of the GI tract, and the most common cause of GI bleeding in the toddler. It is a remnant of the omphalomesenteric tract – it came from a long tube that once connected the yolk sac to the lumen of the midgut. A stranded island of gastric tissue secretes acid in the intestine, where it doesn’t belong. Sometimes these islands never cause much trouble. When it does present itself, a Meckel’s diverticulum usually follows the rule of twos: Presents by age 2 Affects 2% of the population Often 2 inches in length May include 2 types of mucosa Found within 2 feet of the ileocecal valve. Not actively bleeding: technetium-99 pertechnate scintigram (Meckel’s scan). Actively bleeding: radio-labeled red blood-cell scan (resuscitate and call your surgeons!) Pitfalls in the infant and young child Epistaxis; food-related misadventures Older Child and Adolescent Well appearing? Mallory-Weiss tears after forceful vomiting; trivial hemoptysis after viral symptoms; pill esophagitis in the child is just learning to swallow medications. Always consider foreign body ingestion. Ill Appearing? Varices from cryptic liver disease; hemorrhagic gastritis; vascular malformation, such as a Dieulafoy lesion, where a tortuous small artery ends just superficial to the gastric mucosa, and can erode through and erupt. Focus: Inflammatory Bowel Disease Approximately a quarter of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) -- both Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn disease – will present by age 20. Children and adolescents may present with the classic symptoms of IBD: abdominal pain, weight loss, bloody diarrhea, but many present atypically with isolated signs like poor growth, anemia, or delayed puberty. You may also suspect IBD in the child with other extra-intestinal symptoms like oral ulcers, clubbing, erythema nodosum, jaundice, or hepatomegaly. On history and physical examination, you may get one of three cardinal presentations Fatigue, history of anemia, in a stable child who comes to the ED with bloody diarrhea Chronic diarrhea, chronic abdominal pain, and poor weight gain or weight loss A fulminant presentation, with severe abdominal pain, frankly bloody stools, tenesmus, fever, leukocytosis, and hypoalbuminemia. On exam, look for general appearance, glossitis from B2 deficiency, hair loss and brittle nails form protein loss, purpura (from vitamin C and vitamin K deficiencies). Look for evidence of episcleritis or uveitis. Listen for rubs as in pericarditis. Do a good abdominal exam, especially looking for hepatomegaly. Perirectal skin tags are not uncommon. Children with IBD may form urinary calculi form oxalate crystal deposition. Do a thorough skin and neurologic exam. Treatment for both ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease is similar. Induction therapy: children with mild disease get aminosalicylates; those with moderate disease get steroids; and those with severe disease get cyclosporine. Maintenance regimens to prevent relapse include aminosalicylates, mercaptopurine, and azathioprine. Surgical treatments for refractory colitis include an ileal pouch and anal anastomosis – also called a J pouch, a type of neorectum created surgically by folding loops of ileum back on themselves and stitching them together to create a larger rectal reservoir where the rectum once was. A neorectum allows the child to have voluntary control of his stools again. Stabilizing the Pediatric GI Bleed Life-threatening GI bleeding in children is, thankfully, rare, but we have to be prepared. Give blood for compensated shock, prepare for massive transfusion if giving more than 40 mL/kg total blood products. Differing Etiologies: adults and children The reasons for upper GI bleed in adults are vastly different from those of children. In adults, mostly the life-threats are due to liver disease, varices, or hemorrhagic gastritis. In children, critical upper GI bleed is often secondary to critical illness (hemorrhagic gastritis or stress ulcer), or vascular malformation. Critical lower gastrointestinal bleeding may be from Meckel's diverticulum or other congenital angiodysplasia. Endoscopy Get your patient urgent endoscopy as soon as possible after arrival if there is active bleeding. Otherwise, according to the Belgian guidelines, stable children may have endoscopy within the first 24 hours of hospitalization. The reported efficacy of endoscopy for controlling upper GI bleeding in children is approximately 90%. Miscellaneous Nasogastric tube? No routine role (unreliable to rule out or stratify upper GI bleed). Proton pump inhibitor? No good data, but no major common contraindications. Octreotide, vasopressin, broad-spectrum antibiotics? May use adult data to extrapolate in the proper etiologic context. General Advice for the Brisk GI Bleed in Children This is a rare, but potentially life threatening situation, so anticipate how the child can decline, and get your team assembled: your pediatric intensivist, gastroenterologist, and surgeon – especially if we can’t ge the upper GI bleed to abate with endoscopy. The sooner you activate the team, the better. Summary The broad differential diagnosis may be paralyzing, and frustrating, since much of it we cannot discern in the ED. Consider actionable, high-yield etiologies based on age and appearance. Neonates Well appearing? Think rectal fissure, maternal blood, or allergic proctocolitis Ill appearing? Think necrotizing enterocolitis, malrotation, or an inherited coagulaopathy. Infants, and Young Children Well appearing? Think infectious colitis and gastritis. Ill appearing? Think intussusception and Meckel’s diverticulum. Older Children and Adolescents Well appearing? Think Mallory Weiss tear from vomiting, or gastritis Ill appearing? Think metabolic, cryptic liver disease, or inflammatory bowel disease. For everyone – a careful history and a good physical exam will point you tto the etiology, or risk-stratify for further outpatient evaluation and management. Im Februar 2015 jährte sich die Konferenz von Jalta zum 70. Mal. Nach dem Kriegsende wurde die Welt abermals in zwei rivalisierende Lager geteilt und aus den Verbündeten der ehemaligen Anti-Hitler-Koalition wurden im kalten Krieg erbitterte Feinde. Zum Jahrestag der Konferenz von Jalta luden die Stiftung Berliner Mauer, der Berliner Landesbeauftragte für die Stasi-Unterlagen, die Bundesstiftung zur Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur, die Bundeszentrale für Politische Bildung sowie das Zentrum Kalter Krieg e. V. am 26. und 27. Februar 2015 zur Konferenz "Krieg der Welten - Wissenschaftliche Tagung zur Geschichte des Kalten Krieges" in die Vertretung des Freistaates Thüringen beim Bund ein. Am zweiten Tag der Konferenz hielt der ehemalige Außenminister der DDR, Markus Meckel einen halbstündigen Vortrag zur diplomatischen und völkerrechtlichen Tragweite des Ende des kalten Krieges.
