While America faces many crises, both on the domestic and international front, the great American Crisis is really one of willful ignorance. Many no longer operate in the realm of reality. Many ignore facts. Many fail to use reason, logic, or common sense. Many have deluded themselves into believing illusions that don’t really exist. Nearly every issue, including coronavirus, immigration, policing, race relations, is driven by emotions. Perception is not reality, and we cannot allow perception to become reality.    Don’t forget to follow and share The P.A.S. Report with family and friends, and on all your social media channels. Attend any corporate governance continuing education program in the U.S. and you’ll likely be told that governance is essentially the same whether you’re governing a Fortune 50 company or a startup. Unfortunately, few of those boardroom “experts” have ever actually been involved in small, high-growth companies, so they’re unaware that governance most definitely is not one-size-fits-all. Caroline’s thoughts on the relevance of large-cap boardroom formality and how it relates to small company boardrooms are poignant. Long before turning 40, Caroline Tsay* had multiple large-cap senior operating roles in technology, and has also served on the boards of iconic American companies such as The Coca-Cola Company and Morningstar. Now, nearly four years into running a software company she co-founded, there are few executives in the country who share her unique perspective about the large-cap – small-cap divide. SCI couldn’t be happier to share some of Caroline’s thoughts.

Content and marketing is a huge struggle for so many business owners, mostly because you’re afraid you’ll get something wrong. And anything less than perfect is unacceptable, right? Nope, wrong! Done is always better than perfect and imperfection shows that you’re human.  Just put your content out there, see how it lands, then make adjustments as you go. Of course, you still need to do your homework and talk to your audience about what they need and want from you. But rather than try to make every piece of content you produce perfect, make little changes to your strategy, your cadence and your messaging as you go. First, you’ll finally publish something consistently. And your audience will appreciate the fact that you’re not trying to do everything perfectly. Not sure how to do this? Listen in to today’s episode! I’m announcing The Content Experiment Summit, a five-day summit for coaches and course creators who are ready to uplevel their content. I’m also sharing the personal reason behind the name. Mentioned in This Episode The Content Experiment Summit

Is Real Estate Really One of the Best Investments?

Athens Real Estate Podcast with Justin Woodall

Here’s why real estate always makes for a stellar investment. I understand that owning an income-producing rental property is not for everyone, but there are some pretty strong reasons everyone should at least consider it.  Think about this: How does the median sale price of homes 20 years ago compare to the median price today? If we had bought houses back then and rented them out, where would our investment be at today? How would it compare to someone who had put that same amount of money into an S&P fund at the same time? As I demonstrated via infographic at a recent investment workshop, the returns on real estate would be more than double that of the stock investment fund. It’s basically the equivalent of having purchased four houses at a median price point 20 years ago.  Even when factoring in the big dip of the Great Recession, the numbers show that you’d still be better off today had you made a real estate investment as opposed to an investment in the stock market. If you’re skeptical about that, feel free to reach out to me; I’d be glad to show the math to back it up. “Equity growth is what enables you to outperform the stock market with a real estate investment.” Furthermore, property management is a cinch these days. Just turn the care of your property over to a group like ours, get the deposits, track that awesome appreciation, and don’t worry about the rest. Tax benefits are also another great reason to invest in real estate. You can write off any interest if you financed your property, as well as depreciation (I won’t get into that here, but again, I’d be happy to discuss the details with you).  Let’s say you purchase a house with 20% down. Over time, the tenant pays rent, which you use to make your monthly mortgage payments. That means your debt is decreasing while the value of the property is increasing, which means your equity position is strong. Equity growth is what enables you to outperform the stock market with a real estate investment.  Lastly, my favorite thing about real estate is that it’s not a “wait  and accumulate” strategy—it’s a dependable cash flow into your bank account every single month.  If you’ve given all these points consideration but don’t know where to get started investing in real estate, or you have questions about anything I mentioned here, please give me a call or send an email. I’d love to talk things out with you to see whether real estate is the right move, and if it is, what approach you should take moving forward. I look forward to hearing from you!

Their lives are snuffed out, being murdered in broad daylight and nobody doing anything and in the hands of people that we’re supposed to trust. There is one race- the human race. We all want equity and fairness. God made us this way, it’s that simple. She shares three things she practices and why they’re so beneficial for everyone to open up to: Openness, being non judgmental, getting rid of the excuses.

healthcare health plan benefits may vary helps if I need to make their morning live show I was on so that out of the mud you Mary and for Larry where is Jeff when you need him for this is the gotcha project episode number 18 I McGregor with your host Dr. Ken Brown what's happening what's going on up so the writing were already up to this is fantastic were having some great responses I'm even like bumping into people that are looking us up that's a good show gut check project canalboat we are 18 why not 18 years not quite there love my tummy.com just who had knocked it out the bag lobectomy.com/spoony check that out if you would like to get your own Arbitron teal the reason why moving so quickly today is because we've got some studies to get to we've got an incredible gas from an industry that we don't always get to represent on the show that in a course is going to be Travis page 3 of Travis page on he is a drug rep but is also very interesting upward to talk about a lot of different topics but were not to talk specifics of anything know it is to be a general just Pharma thing when I can get him in trouble now is generic company will not be brought up is generic drug won't it's going to be really neutral so there you go Travis yeah Travis will will not reveal his company and I even asked him if I can rhyme it with other words said no idle whiteboard all the guts to hold it up withhe said it won't won't happen so that's about what is a lot of stuff but one of things I do want to talk about is the stories that you had being a grubber the stories that I've had through the years in training what's going on how the drug industry is changed in like this the regulations that have been placed so it's a wild thing because I didn't realize as a young person going to the doctor with my parents what why in our small town to Gainesville occasionally was somebody in a three-piece suit sitting amongst all of the people in the in the waiting room and they always seem to be holding pamphlets and couldn't wait to get in and they didn't have to have their name on the list and they would go back but a lot of things has changed since those days and the way that pharmaceutical representatives have to become educated how they represent to the physicians how they support the positions with their staff and patients etc. so there's so want to get into in a coursers lots of others lots of funny stories to go along with having a yeah a pharmaceutical rep but yes the big news in the big news happens to be in conjunction with the KPD health box and before we forget I wanted you to touch on the feedback that you got this last week and then what you have coming out is a little there's actually an updated change so we did the box opening last week with the KB of the health box but this is a really exciting thing this is a brand-new venture for us and for member box and they did an amazing job and I've had some great feedback my patients were to make big differences you met him boxing is a primary got box yesterday we sat was Sarah Jean and were building next month's box and were making it even better because more vendors are allowing their products to be part of member box you can build your own box once you get going this is really exciting I want to personally change the healthcare landscape naturally and allow people to really start changing things about themselves this pretty awesome because some of the feedback that we got from our patient just yesterday it was scope to received her first box and she said this is amazing I don't have to guess anymore and I thought that was really awesome to have yet another new element of a patient testimony it says this is helping me be healthier and saving money, the biggest thing about the boxes once you realize that there is that study that came out the chilled 79% of the stuff that you're buying at big-box stores or the Walgreens GNC late that article came out which showed that it did not have on the label what was arching the capsules so we took the liberty of going okay you look@thingslikeexamine.com consumer labs and you make sure that things are third-party tested then you realize okay what studies have been done that have actually shown O for instance tumor does do this or trunk teal can help in different ways we get the science to back it and we vetted the products and you're able to get it a huge discount so this particular box hundred $47 for some people that's that's out of range but a lot of people are spending to 5300 on supplements and you may just be throwing it away so hundred 47 to over $250 worth of vetted supplements one of the really exciting things is one of my patients her husband passed away of Alzheimer's disease right and she he was an artist and so she took his original art and she's made cards for basically blank cards thank you cards old-school member like instead of just texting somebody hey thanks that was awesome to catch you write thank you for doing whatever will on the back of it all the proceeds go to the Alzheimer's foundation so were you put that in anybody's box so our office purchased all of her cards and were to put that in the box and I just want it's an opportunity to Cordish to share that message others diseases like Alzheimer's which are really devastating and people you will be reminded of it Mrs. original art that's being sent to restart interact on hey we can put this in your box like that's awesome thank you that is awesome and if you've ever wanted to go and use a physician's recommendation as you move through the aisles of where what supplements actually work which brands are the ones that I can trust and which ones can I save money on to accomplish all of the things that I want to to supplement mount health that's what the K BMD boxes all bouts of KB MD box.com will direct you to where you can learn more to see a video of Dr. Brown on boxing the first months box that'll be replaced here pretty soon when we basically updated and unpack month number two which was very similar to one that always has small little tweaks just to basically improve your health and you can join and you can pause at any time there was never go to the you can go to the the member store and build more build you can deftly build more he can remember boxes getting more and more products in their really and it's all you know I want do is build a box it's based on science speaking of one of our people has member box set me article this morning that I normally would really go to personal stuff here but remember you can little love my Tommy.com/spoony and get a big discount and outrun till you're wondering okay will I don't have bloating or anything like that this article was just sent to me about 15 minutes ago in the article is anthocyanins protect the gastrointestinal tract from a high fat diet -induced alterations blot within burial integrity disposal really fancy these are the molecules are talking about right anthocyanins and what they do they looked at mice and they fed them a typical high sugar high fat American diet and they demonstrated that when they did this that the mice became fat they had insulin resistance they developed steatosis which is fat in the liver and they showed despite Elsa so the bacteria got screwed up and we got then they gave the mice the same molecules that we have and are trying to fed him the same diet and it started to reverse all that process so the science is coming out on this is so fascinating so if you don't if you're not taken Toronto right now because you do not bloated you might want to do it if you're eating a typical American diet leased from the small animal studies so that's and that's in the box and that's one of the main ingredients that's only one more facet in terms of what are 20 or just straight polyp I tried to learn not it's really what polyphenols can do to enhance or protect you and your health so now we know that it works well for gut now we know that tab with that Dr. Bo tells research from the UK from Exeter that polyphenols daily for athletes actually improves performance and tissue perfusion from from blood flow in a course you slow down your recovery time all of that comes from polyphenols not to mention making your endogenous or your your normal CBD your your normal cannabidiol that you have in your body work more efficiently there's just benefits to having polyphenols in your daily diet so we built this box is a gut health box right when you start looking for science to get the polyphenols for performance you get the megastore to increase the diversity of your bacteria so that they can actually use the food that you're bringing in and then the little thing we talked about before was true see that's the micronized hydrogen to improve your VO2 max meaning that you can actually have better oxygenation these are all studies that have just recently come out and of course you get a big steep discount on KB MD CBD oil service it's exclusive to everybody he's a KPMG box number no doubt that will almost all of my patients are on our Toronto plus KB MD CBD because the molecules are trying to augment your own endogenous and or cannabinoids or in other words your own CBD that your body produces and of course taking CBD is like a insurance policy against the world because it's really get you back to balance with your immune system and your nervous system speaking to CVD so I've tweaked my back in the past several years ago a few years ago and unfortunately just this last weekend Gage was out playing basketball up in Kansas and I went to watching and I decided to go engage in a workout and I lifted incorrectly I knew better it's a it's a it's a routine I work at that I normally do but you saw this was Ronnie Coleman 600 pounds on scrub I did 550 550 is from take it easy just be safe though truthfully it wasn't that much weight but what I did I put myself in a in a compromising angle that I don't normally do is in the equipment that usually use I knew better but regardless I did get a small spasm in my lower back usually the past it would take five sometimes seven days to really get more mobility that that injury gets it's a small injury occurred Sunday and you saw me pushing beds yesterday up at the end of center and I'm not 100% but the only difference that I have now that I didn't have the last time I hurt my back from lift is it I take on trying till daily antic CBD now and I think the level of inflammation that I experienced is less now it's anecdotal it's just me I feel great today will Susan feel totally 100% let's go back to that same doing the exact same exercise injure yourself but don't take either that way we have a control group and we have a treatment group you took the words right out of my mouth is exactly what I want to do is drive back to Wichita Kansas Wichita are our lovely and nice has nothing to do that it's just five hours from here to get there so at say it's a long round trip looks like your haircut I did get a haircut and yeah several of them cut several of them I'm such a fancy place what you talking to the person that was chop in your hair I was the hairstylist that's it you you call a woman the catcher here I guess that the hairstylist was cutting my hair and she asked me use it kind of funny in the chair and I say well actually just kinda stretch my back go back I tweaked it but I'm getting better and then she went on to tell me a story about she had been rear-ended by a large truck that erection Torcon on Interstate 35 in Denton and it took about eight months to get back to where she could hold her arms up to cut hair and then you know work at home in the scissors and without feeling fatigued lots of pain so I stress it would all work that she said well I did a few things that the pain doc recommended that do it it stretches but what made the biggest difference for me is when I found a CBD that I could trust and I could take but the hardest part should try several she has rides whatever we value this all the time she said the hardest part was finding one that was reputable that she could depend on didn't break her wallet so the one that worked the best was running her a little over $135 a month and she said it'd always make it to the end of the month even though she was following the instructions on their I let her talk and it was almost like she just walked straight into what you know what it is that you do it sought his ashes what would it have made a difference if you had a physician it said I recommend this CBD because it works clinically for my patients and here's why and she said I would've done in a heartbeat if so what if I could told it would have been about half the cost of the hundred and $35 brain that you are using she said well obviously I would've saved money I would've felt better Chuck told her that KB MD she she went straight to an ordered some so it's it's it's really kind of cool that we remove the access of the cost and that of the worry of is this legitimate CBD and so there was talk about it notes the waters are being really muddied right now. His boots of there's people there's essential oil companies that outrun at CBD there's every try to put it in different things and people ordered off Amazon which right now you're getting hemp seed oil united in getting CBD right is lots of mislabeling and so I think it's really important to have something to trust same thing that you're doing and buy a supplement or make sure that your CBD use is of quality something will happen is also on the topic of that of yesterday I I like it is so Greek salad and turkey patties from from Kenny's burger which is right by my brother my office to tasty Kenny's burgers but Chef Eric said that he was with him on the show under someone holding to it here pretty soon but I was I was Artie talking some people some somewhat regulars there was I googled you and I found you show LOL my guess it's also active on the show because it googled me as a doctor but find it a joke of growth nature and that she was tell me more about the CBD and then just immediately started this whole discussion about passivity was her talk about it and then it went sideways because she goes what you talk about tomorrow Mike that's a great thing am open to looking at different articles a look at what is really interesting one that just came out about a fecal microbial transplant is not effective in irritable bowel I forget that I'm at a restaurant you said that getting said yeah out loud to your class he got real classy records. The never disconsolate that I had to explain the article on the Gladwell will so you take what you slurry it up and put it I'm sorry document can you please leave the stage and a restaurant as I know I was like what yeah okay I'm just as it doesn't get any better not go into detail about how they actually did it which is what I want to do later maybe go to a restaurant that is not does not sell more burgers is Chevron Arcana came out was like yeah let's just move you back in the corner over there and let everybody else eat the burgers no need to wash your hand yes exactly so that we talked about CBD they found us just by doing and then I got put in the corner because I have a potty mouth it's okay well yeah is about a subject hey I just a real real quick reminder for all of our Yeah and He Goes I Found a YouTube Channel Called Great Big Story Just Random Stuff Is Really Well Done 4 Million Subscribers Whatever Okay There Was a Story on That He Said Talk about This So Interesting and Will Get Only Gets up Patrick's Take on a Couple of These Things but It Is a Harvard Law Professor Who Dropped out or Just Quit after Practicing Law Just Said Turned on with This Became Forager So to Speak She Became a Weed Expert Okay And She Just Goes around Collects Weeds and She Takes Them to the Finest Michelin Star Rated Restaurants in New York City Where the Chefs Do Amazing Things with Weeds and Never Last Week Were Taught about the Fact That These Weeds Grow They They Have More Seeds That Grow Were in Inhospitable Environments They Have All These Different Sure Were Probably Looking at A Lot Of Food That We Could Be Dabbling in but I'm Not Encouraging Everybody Run out and Start Eating Everything in Your Yard EE I Remember That Reverent Story Ever into the Wild Right the Alexander Supertramp Who Happen to Eat Something and He Was Bare Garlic Instead of Wild Garlic Which Was Listed on the Same Page the Buckingham Dying in a School Bus in the Wilderness of Alaska but Yes That Moving the Book Is Really Great Actually Acts and Injuring Them in a Book on My Think at the Book and the Action Was an Article in Outdoor Magazine and Then It Was Became a Book and I Became in the Movie but down What Was That We Need That You Said That You Are You Ready Okay so Yeah There so Many Edible Plants but Having A Lot Of Them Require Special Preparation There's One in Texas Called Pulte Salad And down like a Silver Dollar Weed The Problem Is Yes the Boiler like Five Times Boiler Drain It Boiler Drain and Boiler Drain It before It Doesn't Make You Sick and Ends up Just Being Another Boiled Green but My Question Is Always Point How Many Children Did You Make Sick Throat Got up I Will March Me Know Jill's Sixth Mother Let's Try To Boil More Time Drain It in I Cut It Correctly Yeah but Having Kids Is Probably Act of Desperation Is to Find out What You Mean at Some Point You're Kind of Force You Do Yeah I Mean and Forging Is a Big Thing Now I've Been Assuring You While the Hunting Wild Mushrooms in I Know He's Actually It's It's Awesome but It's Really Scary Because I Don't Know You Know We Have from Even It Comes to Mushrooms On One of the Episodes We Had Cooper Read on the Atkins We Did a Whole Episode on How to Identify Mushrooms How They Grow Idea That's Fascinating to Me That My College Is Coming I Don't Know How in the World They Can Get That Confident I Can Think You Could Study and Study and Study but Then Suddenly You're out on Your Own Going and That Was Pretty Good Really Want You Try That Make Sure It's Pretty Good Note School Is out Is Morels Have Not There Is No Other Mushroom That Looks like Them That's Poisonous so You Want Hot Mushrooms Be Sure to Learn How to Identify Morel Mushroom and Forget the Rest And 80 Bucks a Pound It's Been Shopping for Where Do You Find Morel Mushrooms and Well All over the Place at Texas Not so Much North Texas Maybe Far North Texas Arkansas Missouri Digits Did You Know That A Lot Of Texas Mushrooms Joke in the Arm of the Supercollider There Are Going to Build Oh Yeah so That the Tunnels They Began to Build Around Here in North Texas That Quercetin Completed but There Are These Gigantic Tunnels They Had to Make That They Made Use of Them And Eight They Cultivate and Grow Tons of the Mushrooms That You Get in Your Grocery Stores in the Old You're Kidding Supercollider Tunnels Yes It's Really Awesome They Have Is Awesome That My Ankle Time I Know That Jerry and Ray They Walk in a Manner like These Big Wheels and I Mean It's like the Perfect Tank No Sunlight Environment for White Mesh Row Ever since Ever since That Episode I Become so Intrigued by Mushrooms Was Even a Netflix Special That I Watched about Mushrooms and How Prolific They Are All the Things That You Do You Know Him As You Know I'm a Big Fan of All the Research Going on with Silicide and the Micronutrients and in Mushrooms Are Me and Can't Get Them Framed from Any Other Sources It Is Amazing with a Half-Hour I'm Looking at the Time I Feel This Is Unbelievable and We Yeah This Is Unbelieving Okay so Coming up Next Generic Travis From the Generic Page Family Talking Here Outline a Cyclical Generics Is Generous Is There's There's There's It's Also Generic It's a Way to Teach You How to Be so Generic That You Will Be Invisible Will Generically Laugh Your Ass off If You Are Trying to Quit Drinking or Doing Too Many Drugs Listen to Me You Don't Know Me and Will Never Meet I Had a Problem like You Want I Drank and Used a Party a Little Too Much till He Got Out Of Control and Almost Ruined My Life I Realize I Needed Help to Fix My Problem before It Totally Destroyed Me If You Tried to Fix Your Drinking and Drug Problem and You Know You Can't Do It Alone You Need to Call the National Treatment Advisors That Will Immerse You into a 30 Day Program to Replace Your Old Habits with New Habits and Totally Change Your Life and If You Have PPL Private Health Insurance the Entire Program May Be Covered Fix Your Problem Right Now before It Gets Any Worse Get Clean Call Now and Learn More 800-296-1252 800-296-1252 800-296-1252 800-296-1252 Are You Tired of High Cable TV Rates Sign up for Dish Today and Get a $500 Bonus Offer While Supplies Last Loss Locking Your Price for Two Years Guaranteed Call American – Your Dish Authorized Retailer Now 800-570-6630 800-570-6630 – 800-570-6630 Authors Required for the Occasion 20 from Early Termination Fee at the Auto Vein Restrictions Apply Call for Details Fast-Track Student Loans Can Get Your Student Loans Out Of the Vault Stop Any Wage Garnishments Stop Collection Calls and Stop Seizure of Your Tax Refund Give Yourself a Break to Stop the Stress and Get Your Student Loan Payments down to As Little As $25 a Month Based on What You Can Afford to Pay 800-709-4395 800 709-439-5800 709-439-5800 70943950 Projects We Are Now Joined with Mr. Travis PageIs the Generic Pharmaceutical Everything That Was Brought on Correct That's Correct Okay Now We've Just Gotten Legal Permission to Show His Face That Is Not That Generic Is That Some Other Cool Stuff Going on That's How You and I Originally Met You Had These Studies Cattle They Were Doing Anything That That There Were Supposed to Tell Me to Bring the Girls Alert the Cold Court Entered an Elected Mexican Cattle Espanola Yeah I Went to His Ranch in the Rye Had Little I Little Discussion Was like Him He Stood Back to His House yet Is How We Got in Line Had Never Thought about Speaking Spanish I Don't Speak Spanish but the Mexican Guy Needed You to Come over and Help Me out with That Once We Got in Line I Was like Hey I Got a Great Idea I Hope You Want You Come to My Office and Bring Lunch Occasionally That That's How It Works Yeah That's Right. That's Really All There Is It's Almost 90s What Is What You Say 97% of Pharmaceutical Reps Started in the Cattle Industry Oh That Is It's Much Lower Than That I Hope My Way off Bad Stats in Math and so Well We Get Now That We Have Somebody from the from the Farms of the Industry We Wanted to Have Travis Calloway in on Some of the Articles That Were Going to Discuss Today and in the Science Corner From Dr. Brown so Let's so I Got It Norma What Transmittal Do Sometimes I'll Take a Really Kind of a Cutting-Edge Article and Take a Deep Dive but There's Several Different Studies That Pertain to Our Previous Shows I Just Want to Come to Gloss over Them Wanted to Let Travis Decide Which One Were to Talk about First So Very Important You May Just Pick One of Those Pages Are All Negative That Gary Sakata Description First Actually Do You Want to Hear about the Tie between the Jott Micro Biome In a Potential Way to Help People with ALS Pamela Tropic Lateral Sclerosis Is Usually Known As Lou Gehrig's Disease Stress Data Was Choice Number One Choice Number Two Would You like to Hear the Previously Discussed Kenny's Restaurant Poop Transplant Story Choice Number Two Choice Number Two or Choice Number Three Out Of a Canadian University They Been Able to Identify And Produce Molecules in This Behalf Plant That Are Actually 30 Times Stronger Than Aspirin For Anti-Inflammatory Now You Heard Eric Talk about His Back Could Be That CBD Was Doing Something Real Nice We May Have the Molecules Three so This This Is Actually More of a Personality Test For You to See Where You Actually Landed Where Where You Headlined Is Generic Travis Your Job Is on the Line Yeah I I Feel like It's a Personality Test the Number Two with the Poop Would Be like to Go to Choice One with the Got Biome ALS Biome LSO Study Just Cannot Hear with I Looked at the Motor Neuron Disease ALS What They Have Found Is That There Is a Clue That This Horrible Condition and We Had Brandon Brown on Last Week We Were His Dad Died We Went into A Lot Of Detail about the Just Slow Progression of It and You Know We've Had Other People Call in That Event Actually Dealt with Us so Is This What Killed Stephen Hawking They Have Linked Changes in the Micro Biome That Live in Our Gut so They Have Discovered That Micro Biome Will Secrete a Proper Micro Bar Will Secrete Nicotinamide Vitamin B3 And This Appears to Slow the Course of Motor Neuron Disease by Improving the Function of the Muscle Control Neurons in the Brain Now This Is Pretty Exciting Because This Is the First Time They've Been Able to Show How the Micro Biome Will Produce a Neuroprotective Molecule and What They Showed Is That They Took Some Mice and Dooming a Biotics in the No Longer Produce So When We Start Destroying and Dropping Bombs and Not Feeding Our Microbiota We Don't Produces so It Nicotinamide You Made This May Seem Familiar to You Because We Were Working with the Guys That Produce Nicotinamide Ribonucleic Acid Which Is a Precursor of This so Basically What Happens Is Nicotinamide Gets Converted to Something Called NAD Plus and This Converts Food and Energy It Repairs DNA and It Helps the Circadian Rhythm so All These Things Eventually I Want to Try Get Some NAD in Our Box Sure but so It's Pretty Exciting Because Once Again It Comes Back to the Gut Can Affect Your Brain Were All about the Got Right Axis Here And so That Was Kind of Exciting and We Should All Think before We Just Go over to Gazette about Taking Antibiotics to Eat This Crappy Food Because Your Kinda Doing Some Neural Protection Every Time You Eat Polyphenols Every Time You Improve the Diversity of Your Micro Bio/ME I Think That You Could Look at There's Two Inputs to Your Brain and and Its Health One Is the Obvious It's What You're Doing to Learn and Keep Your Your Mind Active but the Other Thing Is Just Plain and Simple You Rest of Your Body Has To Get Nutrition From Somewhere in the Only Way to Get It Eat What You Eat in a Matter I Would Just Shown Time and Time Again That the Typical Western American Preservative Filled the Diet the Preprocessed Food It's Just Destroy Your Health It Really Is We Were Seeing an Epidemic of Autoimmune Disease and Everything Else Which Is Why I Think Everyone Has an Endo Cannabinoid Deficiency We Always Talk about This There Is the Gastro Vessel System the Cardiovascular System Neurologic System Will Have an Endo Cannabinoid System I Want to Be the First Board-Certified Endo- Kanab and All Just out There I Think I Can Because I'll Have To Form the Whole John Ronald to Certify Myself Immediately to Me Interesting Residency for Sure It Will Be Really Interesting Yeah So That the Other Study Were to Talk about Which Is These Guys Figured out These Two Molecules Cannot Live in a Can of Light and Be What's Interesting to Me about This Is That They Are Flavonoids So in a Full-Spectrum Hemp These Are the Polyphenols Which Are Also Was CBD Original CBD Nobody Talk about All the Other Molecules That Come along with It We Talk about the Terpenes Which Are the Essential Oils and We Talk about the Flavonoids Which Are the Polyphenols Right And What They Showed Is These Template and a and B They Provide the Anti-Inflammatory Benefit of Taking a Full Spectrum Interesting and They Showed They Can Show This Is What's The More Interesting They Implied That They Show That These Different Molecules Are 30 Times More Effective Than Taking Aspirin by Blocking Prostaglandins Prostaglandins As Part of the Arachidonic Acid Pathway Okay yet so Just for Those Who May Not Be Completely Aware of Their Economic Acid Pathway You Start with the Prostaglandin and It Moves down I Think It's Either Level I or Level II You Get into the Cyclooxygenase of the Cox Enzyme Correct Correct and That's Where Aspirin and Those Other NSAIDs Would Work so Basically You're Saying That a Natural Flavonoid Will Stop or Prevent That That Progression down That Pathway Earlier Correct Exactly This Is Patrick He Is Just Studio Touching Things Very Range of ZZZ's Adjusting Camera Started out There So So What's Really Actually about This Is That There's No There's Big Business I Mean Back When I Was a Resident There Was Talk of a Farmer Here for Second the People Throwing the Money Out Of Us Were the Cox Two Inhibitors Sure of Who I Can't Member Who They Were but They Got There Pulled off to the Realtor Causing Heart Attacks Afflicted by Vioxx Was One of the so Just to Finish up This Article There Was Really Interesting Because I Was like Wow This Is so Cool and Then I Went These Guys Didn't Discover This in Fact It Was Discovered in 1985 That These Molecules Did This What They Did Is They Discovered the Enzyme to Produce It So They Want to Start Manufacturing Just These Two Molecules And They Probably Will Make It a Drug Sure like They Want to Do so This Is Interesting Because We Talk All the Time That the Full Spectrum Allow Mother Nature to Do Her Thing So No Offense of the Farm Industry but Frequently Though Find Something Oh There Is the Molecule during This Then They'll Manufacture It and Hope That It Works As Well As in Mother Nature but We See It Time and Time Again That It Doesn't You Need Everything in the to Do It and I Did Have Some Fun with This Because I Want on Reddit and Looked at Somebody I Recently Discovered Read about Three Months Ago Yes It Just Started Ready Friend and I'm like Reddit Thing Is Super Cool When You Find That Modems Had a Quick Side Note They Go on I Gonna Read It Funny Pretty Good Way to Start Your Day Just Looked at Cop Arresting a High a Really High Kid and I Don't Know What Happened before Goes the Cop Looks at Him and Just Goes I Mean like When They Make Fun of High People and They Portrayed in Movies You're Mad As Hell Man Thanked Its Front Page Read It for Sure It Was so Somebody Wrote Them Basically What They're Talking about Is That It's Been Known for a Long Time That These Kenna Flavin's a and B Have Been Able to Do This and the Study They Were Referring to His 1985 but It Just Kind of Implies That This Is You Know the Way Things Go What's Really Cool about It Is That There Are Potentially Thousands of Other Molecules We've Not Discovered In These Plants I Made Such a Complex Plant Which Is Why Think It Is so Many Things so That's Article Number Two Article Number Three Is I Get Asked All Time on My Patients about Fecal Transplants and so You Take Someone's Poop Stick and Somebody Else and A Lot Of My SEBO Patients A Lot about Your Mobile Patients Always Asked That Randomized Trial Came to the Conclusion That Now It's Not Any Better Than Placebo the Real Taking Someone Else's Poop Does Not Help Irritable Well Hey Just a Curiosity That Particular Study How Big Was It and Are You I Do Think the Methods Were an Effort to Be Disk and Totally Conclusive on That Element Now I'm Sure It's Not and I Don't Member Lussier Got off Public Results I'm Only Curious Because We've Seen in the past but Sometimes You Can Hundred and 75 People Recruited Okay 75 Now That Being Said It's like All Things for Me and Some Other People Would Go Ahead and Critique Us so They Took the Capsules the Frozen Food Pressure Okay Though Some Would Argue Is It You Know Is It Actually Working to Present to D Have To Go in and Do This so Do Remember Quick Side Note We A Few Years Ago We Were Interviewed We Had This Yale Gastroenterology Fellow We Took A Lot to Eat He Was Considering Joining Us and His Research Was on Fecal Microbial Transplant so Taking My so What They Would Do Is Take a Skinny Mouse and a Fat Mouse and They Would Swap and See What Happened with That Mousey Little Skinny Mouse and They Were Showing That Fat Mice Started to Lose Weight after Getting the Fecal Transplant Skinny Mice Gained Weight So While He's Telling Us This As You Can See I Have a Habit of Talk about Poop and Restaurants Yeah Our Waitress Was like What Hold on to Explain That He Goes into More Details I Guess I Will Publish This in It's Really Exciting She's like He Was Ever Thought about How Their Fat Families Is Genetics or Are They Sharing Their Poop Once You Live with Somebody Long Enough Whether You like It or Not You Sharon Poop and Just to Women with Somebody so She Just Goes Oh My God It Looks over the Water Boys like Six 420 S. West That Just Became the Sexiest Man in This Restaurant Yeah Yeah Yeah I Did So so Anyways Brigham Young University Just Came out with Actually Did a Fecal Microbial Transplant Study on Weight Loss The – Documents and so Is Small Study but It Actually Did Not Show That Improved Weight Loss I Had a Patient That Did a Microbial Transplant from Her Sister and She Ended up Getting The Same Diseases As Her Sister Though She Developed Acne and Hypothyroidism and Put on Weight It's Really Interesting Though Because I Think It Even United Whenever That Study First Came out from Brigham Young That Was That There Probably Are Still Some Environmental or Extrinsic Controls That There Probably Weren't Measured Because Did the Fecal Transplant Actually Have Number One Time to Change the Habits of the Desires the Person Had Now It Seems like There's A Lot Of Different Facets Whenever You're Talking about Essentially a Human in the Wild of the Western Civilization and And All of the Different Offerings That You Can Have for Food Sources Etc. Can Be Reversed So I Thought from a Generic Farming Nice Yeah so I'm in a Really Have To Not Beating in My Scene To Ingest Somebody Else's. Psalm Tanya Seems like There Would Be A Lot More Negative Than Positive to Write Well Will I Think That There's so Much Science Coming out on the Micro Biome We Don't Know What to Do with And There's A Lot Of People Who Are Really Desperate I Think You're on an Island I Think Most People Are Totally into Having Someone Else Do You Think That We Took a Poll I Don't Know It See This Is What He Brings up a Good Point Maybe My Sample Size Is Way Too Small Maybe I Need to Ask More People Than Just Myself Okay That Was No Pun Intended Right Your Sample Size I'm Glad Someone Is Picking up a Ladder Right after L Phoenix on Friday Obviously Travis Does Not Work for a Mixed Good Restaurant Is Awesome Yeah but No It's Believe It or Not It's a Topic of A Lot of Scientific Inquiry Right Now Yeah Microbial Transference the Microbiota What's Going on I Mean This Is People Not Ever since the Advent of the Phone I See More Pictures of People's Poop and I Don't Need to Just Keep It Right There Don't Know What You Can I Got the Good Imagination I Imagine That Is Interesting No and We Did Get Asked about That Quite a Bit at the Procedure Clinic About What You Know about Fecal Transplants but I Think There's Still Time Left to Discover If It's Well so It's the Brakes of Been Put on It Because Just Recently That Study, We Have People Died Two People Died from Getting a Fecal Transplant Because the There Was a Bacterium That Yeah That's What I Was in Salmon There's That Negative Outweighing the Positive Right Because There's so Much Negative from Its Waste Right I Will yet so Technically That's True but That's It Has Your Micro Biome and It Has A Lot Of Dead Things Is a Ton of Waste in It and You Know Poop Is Extremely Complex We Don't Really Quite Understand What to Do with It or How to Make It Better but We Do Know That Your Micro Biomes Your Genome within Your Genome We Need to Start Treating That Accordingly Give It What It Wants You Start Having A High Process with High Sugar Food You're Going to Have Bacteria That Are Going to Proliferate More I Will Start Sending Signals to Your Brain to Ask for More of That so Are You in Control Or Is Your Bacteria in Control of You That's the Interesting Thing Yeah Definitely Has Many Other No Words No That's That's We Just Waited Technically for Quick Studies Today NL Just Came out but Right Now I Got I Got I like Commit to One and Do a Deep Dive on It but We Were Able to Come to Cover the Cover Basis Rather While They Want to Gain It Well Travis Walking the Show Thank You Ashram so You Were Born in Carrollton Texas Correct Yes and Currently Now and of Course We All Teasing but We Can't Worried Asked Not to Totally Reveal Exactly What Farms It Was a Represent What Company That You with but That Won't Prevent Us from Talking about the Journey to Get to Where You Are Now so It Will… Let's Go Ahead and Cleverly Were Microfiber but the Reality Is Is That the Pharmaceutical Industry Has Been under Fire for the Last Decade or so Though Sure That the Regulations What Can Be Said What You Can Be Represented Have Really Been Ratcheted down in Some Part of the Fun I Want to Do Today's Talk about My Journey As the Doctor Where There Was No Limit Free-For-All It Was a Free-For-All to Now Would You like to Know You Can't Say Anything And I Can't Bring You Anything and We Can't Do Anything and Everything's under Tight Regulations It's Morphed A Lot I Mean Definitely over the Last Three Decades It's Probably Not a Recognizable Profession When It Was 30 Years Ago Compared to What Is Now Yesterday There's a Guy That That Worked with On the Primary Care Side That Will Just Call MAC Outright and He Was 60 Something Years Old He'd Been through He Made It through like Eight Different Layoffs over The Course of His Career Right Me Just Could Not Kill This Guy And He Was a Fixture Every Wednesday He's in This Particular Office Right and I Just Asking Him and Talking to Him about What The Industry Was like 30 Years Ago When I Came into It I Mean You I Missed out on On All of That Right and You Know It's It's the Only Sales Job Really That I Can Think of Where It's Not Okay to Take Your Customer to Dinner or Take Your Customer out for a Drink or out to Play Golf or or Whatever the Scenario Might Be I Mean Yeah One of My Best Friends Is His Family Owns a PVC Pipe Manufacturing Company Right They Live on That They Live on Entertaining Their Customers I Mean It's Expected Brian and I Is Not Funny Because Doctors Now Are so Scared Especially with Happen to Some Hospitals Doctrine Hospitals the Stuff That If You Own It If You Do Anything in Medicine I Do Not Want I Don't Take Any Money from You I Do Not Want to I Feel like a The High-Level College Recruit Just like Now What I Will Pay for My Own and Because He Is There so Much Fear on the Doctor and Roots like Look at You Being Influenced And the Reality Is There Was A Lot Of Money to Influence People's Behavior and That's What That's Why the Relations Came around His Right Is Wrong I Don't Know While Internet and That All of the Training and Everything You Get Is a Rat Now Is All Very Patient Focused Right It Is It Is All about Presenting a Case and Paying a Picture of a Particular Patient That Needs Help And That That's Really Our Job at This Point Is to Go Get in Front of the Physician Somebody Has the Capability to Improve Somebody's Life Right by Writing a Prescription or Doing a Procedure Whatever the Case May Be in Just Painting a Picture of the Patient That They See on a Daily Basis but Maybe Get Lost in the Shuffle Are That They Don't Recognize and Try to Paint a Picture of How That Patient Suffering and How You Can Help So I Mean I We Will See the Company Name but I've Been Doing Clinical Research for A Lot Of Different Pharmaceutical Companies and I Work A Lot Assigned to Place on Sears Has Some Really Smart PhD's That a Return to Work This out so There's There's All Different Kinds of Views of What This Industry Is and What It Was What It's Become And Everybody Insurance Companies Have a View of That the Patient Has a View of That the Doctor Has a View of It the Company and There's so Much So Many Moving Parts That Are Continually Moving so If a Drug Company of Or Research Division of the Drug Company Has a Pretty Good Product If It Doesn't Look like It's Gonna Be a Homerun There's Just a Recent Pharma Startup Were There Looking at Something in Cannabis in the Phase 3 Clinical Trial Was Looking Bad And Somehow It Got Leaked Their Stock Plummeted 81% On This The Rumor That the Trial Wasn't Going Well It's Crazy Because He Almost Are Stockholders in Industries like That You're Always Betting on the Future It's Never on the Present Value of What Merely Delivering a Good Service Would Heavy It May Have so Much Weighing on That in Fact If Armor the Number Correctly You May Be Able to Correct near It's Probably Grown since Then but the Late 90s We Were Told the Stat And That Was That so Much of the Money in the United States Of America Pharmaceutical Industry Is Strictly to Stave off the Costs of R&D and the Elements That Go into That to Move That Product Soaked over Told Is That before One RX Is Sold of Any Doesn't Matter All Comers Is Sold That over $1.4 Billion Had Been Invested Industrywide to Create Good Multifarious Trials the Experiments That the Development Of a Said Drug That Would Come with Every Lineage You You Yourself Even Said They Had That Started with a Steady Back in 85 and Now They're Trying to Find an Enzyme to Do Something Will Were 30 Years Removed from That so over That Time How Many People Spent Time Reading That Article so This Is an Aggregate of All of the Time and All the Research That Goes into This and Avenue Where We Can Improve Either an Outcome or What Have You Is Just A Lot Of Money on Top of That Before You Can Turn a Drug out to Somebody You Gotta Go through At Least Three Phase Clinical Trials and Then Moving to the Force Where the Consumer Will I Will Say This Travis Are Here Because Number One Your Atypical for a Drug Rep So How in the World like What Your Journey Man Were to Start College and Appear Yes so It It's It's Really Not That I Complicate Our Plan to Be Here A Lot Sooner Than That I Was a Mean on That Third Show Doesn't Start until I Was Right on Time for That Yes so You Are Talking about My Journey Right so I'm a Third-Generation Sales Guy When My Dad Went through School When He Came out It Was All about Computer Software and Hardware Right When I Was in School It Was All about the Pharmaceutical Industry and so It Was My Ambition Right to Be in Sales It's All I've Ever Done Don't Care If It's My High School Job My College Mates It's Always Been Involved in Sales so I Knew That's What I Was Going to Do in the Hot the Hot Job to Have Come You Know Back in 1999 Was Coming into the Pharmaceutical Industry and It All Went to a Small State University Which Was Mistake Right Great Experience Great Education but Just Not Allowed A Lot Of Alumni Support Board Job Right after You Get Out Of School You Know When and at That Point I Thought I Was Going to Be a I Thought It Was Going to Be a Pro Athlete Right Because We All Do When Were 18 or 19th And so When I Discovered That I Wasn't Going to Be Right I Try to Get into That the Job Market Will Sports So I I I Rodeo Road in College and You Know I Thought That That Was Going to Be Realizing Your Second College Rodeo Yes Scholarship Person That We Got on the Show the Odds That's Where I Show 18 We Had to Know Me That's the Elementary Him Percent Yeah Hendrickson Was a Rather One Robo That's Right Robo So What Would He Compete and What Was His Mostly Bad Ass Surrey Samurai Night Was That He Was a I Think He Was a Bronc Rider It Is a Professional Bronchitis Think He Was a Bronc Rider Yeah Yeah Yeah so That's What I Did but There It Was Very Evident That I Was Not Going to Be Professional at It by the Time I Arrived National Rodeo Person Liquid of the Skills and the Acyl Basically Your Your You're Willing to To Put Your Money Forward and Go on the Relative Absolute Zero Sensitivity in the Mail Nether Region There's That Your Behalf Shopping to Play Smudges As People Think That It Is That Often so We Don't Have To Worry about Being Somebody Runs up and Just Kiss You All of the Terry A Lot Of You A Lot Less People Sign up If That Were the Case Yeah No I Mean It's It's Really You Know It's It's It's One of the Few Sports in the World Where There's No Contract There's Nobody Paying You Unless You Went so You Gotta Be Able to Foot the Bill to Go Compete And Then Yard You Know Basically Sustaining Yourself with Whatever You Went so If You Don't Win It's Not Sustainable Is Basically What the Deal Is so That the First Job Interview I Had a College Was with Copenhagen's Goal Right Okay and so I Go down to the Office There in Louisville Used To Be on Main Street There in Louisville and I Go in There and I'm Talking I'm Talking to This Gentleman and It's a Sales Job and Ides Promotional Job and I Get to Go on the Road All These Rodeos and Stuff and Products Help My Patients so You Come Full Circle without Definitely and That's It That Is That Is the Most Gratifying Part of of What I Sell Is That You Don't Unsolicited Patients Will See You in a Waiting Room and With This Particular Product That I'm Selling Now at Mean It's a Lifesaver Right so like Literally so Patient Comes up to Me This Is Not a Month Ago In the Waiting Room and Says You Thank You for Doing What You Do You Say My Life I Can Save Your Life Right but It Makes Me Feel Good to Think That I Know Made a Case for That Patient Advocated for That Patient in Front of Physician Our portable, pop-up newsroom is back, this time from the first Know Good Market of the season in Hartford's vibrant Parkville neighborhood. We tucked ourselves in a corner next to Hog River Brewing Co., and we asked two fairly straightforward questions: 1) Is Hartford really one of the best places for Millennials to settle down, as recent studies have suggested? 2) Connecticut is in need of a new slogan to replace "Still Revolutionary." What would you suggest? The answers were as entertaining and informative as we could have hoped. See you at the next one.

Airing date: 05/11/2019 Cybersecurity Breaches Are Your Fault - Can't Make Insurance Claim - Google's New Automatic Feature - Facebook Is Government Protected Monopoly Craig Peterson 0:04 Hello, everybody, Craig Peterson here, Hey, are you a business owner? Do you work in a business? Are you may be a little concerned about cybersecurity? And maybe you have insurance for a hack. I know a lot of insurance companies have been kind of adding that type of rider on lately. Well, I got some news for you today. The whole thing here about two-factor authentication and Apple, you know, the most security you can have the best security is something you have along with something, you know. Well, that's what 2FA is all about. And we're going to talk about that, what Apple's doing, what you can do, and what we do ourselves and for our clients to keep data safe. Google, Oh, my gosh, they are doing something good. We'll tell you about that and how to take advantage of they're forgetting a promise that they've just made. A really interesting response here from this is a company we use called Duo and their CEO talking about cybersecurity today. And he says the businesses are doing a whole lot of it. But too much funding is going into cybersecurity right now. Because there's so much money that's getting into the whole cybersecurity realm. The CEO and founder or co-founder of a company called Duo, D-U-O, Security. They were bought recently by Cisco. And we were using them before Cisco bought them. It's funny. That seems to happen a lot to us. Meraki, we were Meraki guys. And then Cisco bought them. Duo guys, and many others, Snort and the list goes on and on. But he said that cybersecurity and the investments that funding going into them is way overhyped in a lot of breaches because we're getting the basics wrong. That is absolutely true. And I got to tell you that now. It's not overhyped in that you're not at risk, because you are we've seen the statistics, the hard statistics, even from people admitting that their businesses were hacked. More than half of all businesses say they have already been hacked. Okay. So that's not what he's talking about. He's talking about the money that's going into funding some of these cybersecurity startups. And I can really see this, I understand what he's talking about here. Because so much of the vulnerability that we have is pretty darn basic. And it goes back to passwords. And in the case of Duo Security, the whole concept of two-factor authentication. So here are the basics. In case you're wondering, we're talking about fishing scams. A couple more here. But phishing scams, of course, are those emails that come in that make it look like whoa, wait a minute, now. This is a legitimate email or it's not and then people fall for them. Right. So the basics are phishing, scam, stolen password, and employees using devices that are not up to date or patched. And that's what we really, really emphasize with our clients. One of the biggest services we offer is making sure the machines are all patched up. We do it right. So something messes up. You know, it's our problem and we take care of it. Craig 3:42  Stolen user credentials leading cause of breaches. We know about, for instance, Senator Maggie Hassan from New Hampshire and her staff member who admitted to stealing passwords using a keylogger apparently on this senators computer are they. I don't know could even make a movie about this, it'd be pretty boring, wouldn't it frankly. A good book about that, by the way, A Thousand Miles, look it up if you haven't read it already. But smart attackers are going after people now not just systems because that's where the money is. It's kind of the basics. Now, this guy is a very interesting guy. And let's talk about Duo here for a minute, we are the full disclosure a Duo reseller. D-U-O, you can find them online. And they have some very cool technology that we tie into these special fobs, these special little USB keys that allow us to identify ourselves and who we are. So here's what happens too. We have it tied into, for instance, our iPhones. So if we try and log into a system that's, that's privileged, you know, particularly something that has any form of customer information on it, the system comes up and says, Okay, I need to authenticate you. So it now sends a special message to our iPhone. And the iPhone has a thumbprint reader on it. So we have to unlock our iPhone. And then we're going to Duo, and Duo's telling us because it popped up on our phone, hey, somebody is trying to gain access. And then you accept it. You say, yeah, that was me, it's fine. And you give it your thumbprint and a code. And now you can log into that website, you can get on to that computer, you can use that software. DUO is just absolutely fantastic. And frankly, it is crazy important for you to have something like this in your business. And that takes us back to what Apple is doing right now. Some people are annoyed by this, Apple's two-factor authentication. I don't know if you're using anything but remember what I just said the most secure way? Well, the most secure way of securing a computer is to unplug it, rip out all the wires and put it in a vault, right with no electricity. But if you needed to be able to use the computer, two-factor authentication works. And that's part of what Duo is providing here. And just texting, texting, phone numbers back and forth, doesn't cut it, by the way. It sends you a message and you respond because people can steal your phone number. And then life gets really complicated, doesn't it? It gets really competent very quickly. And we've seen that again. And again, people stealing, for instance, Bitcoin accounts, but also stealing access to regular bank accounts and tens of thousands of dollars have been stolen out of it. So what Apple did is this is pre-Duo, pre-a lot of these things, is Apple said well wait a minute, most of our customers have multiple devices. So when I logged onto my computer sitting right here in front of me today, it had a message because this is an Apple computer. And it had a little message and the message said, someone just started using your account on this day and time at this location. And this is the type of computer, was that you? And of course, it was me. So I said yeah, cool. But before I logged into this computer, and I was installing a brand new wealth new to me, right, it's actually kind of old MacBook Air. And I put my account on there and I put my Apple credentials on there. Apple sent a special message to my iPhone saying hey Craig somebody is trying to log on creating an account, etc, etc is this you? So with Apple's two-factor authentication turned on, every time you attempt to sign into an account, you're going to enter your password. And then you're going to receive a second security notification that might come through on your desktop, on your laptop on your iPhone, on your iPad on your iWatch right? Actually, Apple Watch, they should have called it iWatch. Craig 7:59 And then usually it looks like a text message. It's not a text message. In this case, it's actually built-in, it's a utility part of the operating system, it gives you this six to eight digit code, and you entered into the website. Now in most cases, the websites are going to send you a text I already explained why that's a bad idea. And why it's a good idea to use Duo, it usually takes us a few weeks from start to finish to get a company switched over to Duo, because there's a lot of configuration that has to happen and training that has to happen. And you have to get the right little devices for people to use. But here's what you should do. If you have an Apple device, you should be using their two-factor authentication, because it gets around all of the problems you have with Android devices, for instance, that are receiving SMS messages again, that's what I use Duo, it works on Android as well. So make sure you turn it on, don't turn it off, you're going to get it's going to say Apple ID verification code. And you have to pull that up from another Apple device where you're going to click Allow. But what amazes me, frankly, is that there is a lawsuit going on right now and some people are frustrated and upset about this if you can believe it. So here are some claims in the lawsuit. Apple turned on two-factor authentication without his approval. This guy's name is Brodsky. Yeah. Well, he's trying to help you, you idiot. Two-factor authentication takes too long to set up. No, it doesn't. It's difficult to use. No, it's not. It can't be turned off. After using it for 14 days what logging into a device can take up to five minutes. Oh my gosh. So you might think that you shouldn't use it or simply turn it off like this Brodsky guy that's brought this lawsuit, and I'm sure it's just one of these deepest pockets lawsuits, just like these lawsuits that we're hearing about all the time. Oh, you offended me, you have to remove that because it offends me. Really? One person, a dozen people out of how many millions, we're not offended by that. Forget about it. Okay. But you know, Brodsky is correct that you only have a 14 day trial period. But that should be enough time to figure if you want to use two-factor authentication. And after that's passed that 14 days, you have to continue using it. So the bottom line to everybody out there, use two-factor authentication. If you can, don't use your cell phone for it. Craig 10:35  Now, let me give you a little insider secret that I've never heard anybody else talk about. But I think is really handy. You can get a phone number from Google Voice. Have you seen this? Again, another service that I used before Google bought it, Google Voice, they'll give you a phone number, it's free. Now they're going to record your phone calls and your voice messages. They take the voice message, they turn it into text and they text it to you it comes up in their app, it's really, really, really handy. Obviously, you don't want anything too confidential on Google Voice. However, here's the win, when it comes to a Google Voice phone number, or within many cases with a VOIP provider Voice over IP provider, when it comes to these numbers. They can't be stolen from you. Because there's no Sim, there's no little chip, a little SIM card that you put into the phone. That's how people get in around this. That's how people are stealing phone numbers. So if you use your Google Voice number for a website that does not support things, like Duo. So it doesn't support full two-factor authentication, you're going to be all set. It's going to be really nice. So little trick there, right? It can't be stolen it not the normal way anyway, they can't just do the cloning or duplication or try and get your sim move to another phone because there was never a sim there in the first place. Craig 12:40  While we're on Google and before we get to our little warning here about the insurance for cybersecurity and CIOs, I get another Google thing. This is from the Associated Press and it was published in Forbes magazine. This is a win I think for everybody. But you have to know about it. In order to take advantage of this. I'm glad they're doing this. Facebook here another story. They are a government protected a monopoly. And they certainly are. I've had problems with patent law for quite a while particularly when it comes to software and processes. You know, way back when there's a great story. It's up on my website, http://CraigPeterson.com. 1954, you've heard this story, I'm sure if you've ever taken a business class. Ray Kroc does that name ring a bell to you? Ray Kroc, K-R-O-C. How about Illinois? How about just outside of Chicago? Anyways, this guy Ray Kroc in 1954 visited a hamburger stand in Southern California. And Ray was selling milkshake mixers and was very interested in how these brothers Richard and Maurice, were able to sell so many milkshakes, this small stand, and I think it was they ordered a four milkshake mixer. So it did four milkshakes at the same time. So he started to look into this about more, a little bit more a little further. He was really impressed. freshly cooked hamburgers delivered to the customers based on an assembly line. Of course, we're talking about Richard Maurice McDonald here in case you didn't know and Ray Kroc decided, wait a minute now this looks absolutely amazing. It works, so well. Ray Kroc stole the idea. You know, he tried to work out a licensing deal and everything. We're not going to get into the whole story here. But the success of McDonald's led to Burger King, Burger Chef, Carl's Jr. Hardee's, Jack in the Box, that used to be one of my favorites when I lived in California, and hundreds of other small hamburger joints and of course, that led up to what we have today with Quoba and other different types of fast food restaurants. Well, the evolution of fast food in America would have been completely different if the McDonald brothers could have applied for a patent to claim exclusivity for the idea of using an assembly line to make hamburgers. Craig 14:44 Intellectual property, you know, look at article one section eight of the Constitution. Congress was charged to promote the progress of science and useful art by securing for limited times to authors and inventors the exclusive right to their respective writings and discoveries. Craig 15:07 Well, the McDonalds brothers, McDonald brothers did not go for a patent. They didn't apply for this federal protection for their design because it was not a writing, or an invention. They just use existing technology more reasonably and more efficiently than others. And the way it's supposed to work in the patent office is that if something is an obvious next step in the evolution of a business evolution of a process, the evolution of a machine, it's not patentable. However, because there are so many patents being applied form because there's so much technology involved and so much knowledge they need patents are being given willy nilly, it's absolutely amazing. But the greater good was served by allowing businesses to reverse engineer these clever ideas that they saw in patents and spread it from sea to shining sea. Reverse engineer, not just things in patents, because of course, you have a certain amount of exclusivity. But people would take it, they look at the patent, they would modify it enough so that they could start producing something that wasn't covered by that patent. Well, today, fast forward to Facebook and Google and other social media platforms that are banning people for their political beliefs. And in reality, in a healthy society, in a healthy economy where we didn't have the type of crazy overextended patent laws that we have here. Facebook would have been reverse engineered 20 times by now. And people who were banned would have simply gone somewhere else. Well, instead of that our government and the way these laws are set up now is protecting Facebook and these other companies at the point of a gun. Right? Because it breaks the law, see what ultimately happens to those guys and gals that show up in your door? Do they have a gun with them? Or don't they right? So Facebook and other social media sites and other companies are government protected monopolies. They've been able to convince the patent office that their business and their business model is an invention that should be protected by intellectual property laws. Now we have the Department of Justice and the federal courts out there acting as strong arms, strong men, making sure nobody competes with them because they say, this is our business process. We have our process patent on that. Craig 17:41 And then, of course, they have enough lawyers to protect it. Craig 17:44 You end up with people like Mark Zuckerberg, who has a crazy, crazy wealth. But is he really helping to further even other sites that are out there social media sites, of course not? He buys them if they're doing fairly well. And he squeezes them, even when he's buying them. So Zuckerberg didn't invent anything, he didn't invent the computer, he didn't invent the microchip. All he did was started messing around with Atari Basic programming when he was a kid. to reward someone who's the first to use an invention to arrive an inevitable function only crushes the competition. And that's what we have today. So that's my word for today. Facebook is a government protective monopoly. And we have to change our patent laws. We've got to set it up so that these obvious inventions if you will, just aren't covered by it anymore. Craig 18:48  Okay, let's get into Google here, let's finished that one up. And then we'll get into the insurance and our big warning to Chief Information Officers and business owners. Google will now automatically delete your data for you. This just came out about a week or so ago. This was in front of the Google IO Developer Festival. That was last week as well. But in their security blog, the product managers for Google search and maps say that Google is going to make managing your data privacy and security simpler. So you can already go into your settings in your Google account, you can get simple on-off controls for location history, web and app activity, which I do I have that turned off. And you can choose to delete all or part of that data manually, which I've also done. First, I downloaded it because I wanted to see what Google had about me, right. And what's going to be rolled out now is what's called auto delete controls. So you can set time limits on how long Google can save your data, that going to be huge. They're saying that this is going to arrive within weeks and new controls are going to apply to location history, web browsing, Google searches, app activity data to start with, you're going to be able to choose a time limit of between 3 and 18 months afterward, the data will be automatically deleted on a rolling basis. So thank goodness. But remember, you can already manually delete it if you want. But the ability to delete automatically is long overdue, and I think it's going to help us right. I don't mind them tracking my searches and saying well Craig is looking for a new car, so I'm going to show him this ad because this new car is going to fit. But I don't want that following me for the rest of my life. I don't want to see the car ads after I bought a new car right? So being able to have that automatically purged I think is going to be absolutely phenomenal. Craig 20:53  You got to see this video. This I found this on Digg and I put it up on my website http://CraigPeterson.com. Wow, this is a video that was taken by a guy working inside a scam call center over in India. This is a webcam view that he shows the software they're using. You can listen in on some of the conversations. And this is in a city called Kolkata. I guess. K-O-L-K-A-T-A. Craig 21:21 I don't think that's Calcutta, Kolkata. Craig 21:25 And there's a group of scammers hunting for victims to swindle and what they do and how they do it. And you know what? You got to watch this again http://CraigPeterson.com, it was a bit of a shocker to me. But these guys think that that they have just as much right to your money to your house to your belongings as you do. And they do everything they can to steal it from you. And why not? You're just a rich American. What do they care? Right? Craig 21:50  Okay, on to this. This is from Forbes magazine. Again, up on http://CraigPeterson.com. A new cybersecurity report is out there warning CIOs if you're breached or hacked, it's your own fault. Now think of that when it comes to cybersecurity insurance so many businesses have been purchasing. In fact, this is one of the topics I'm covering. UNH extension here to mastermind is the insurance side of cybersecurity. And what does it mean to you? What does it mean to me? The majority of businesses in the US and UK are still leaving their doors wide open to attacks. I'm going to be doing some training coming up here before summer. So keep an eye out for that on what to do how to lock up your business before summer comes okay. Craig 22:41 But for all of this focus, we've had on cybersecurity, all of this money that's getting invested. Most of us are still incredibly overexposed.  It's just crazy. These attacks can wipe out your business entirely can stop it for maybe a few hours or, or something somewhere in between. But there was this new cybersecurity survey that was conducted by endpoint management specialists. And also some market researchers Van Bourne, Vanson Bourne. They questioned 690 operations and IT security decision-makers across the US and UK found that 60% of the organizations had been breached in the last two years. And 31% said they'd been breached more than once. What's going on people? Are you just confused? Craig 23:36 Make sure you sign up, http://CraigPeterson.com/subscribe. You can get my free training and I have completely free training, not upselling. Okay, I have my paid courses as well. But I'm trying to get the word out. Okay. The vast majority of the successful attacks are using known vulnerabilities in well-known software that has already had patches available by software vendors. The next one down is people falling for email attacks, which can also be prevented. No, they can't be prevented by going out and buying Barracuda spam firewalls. And no, okay, you got to do this right. But my goodness, my goodness, the CIO's team doesn't actually even know in most of these cases here, what the hardware is, it's out there, what software it's running on how they're going to patch it. They don't even know the machines exist. And we see that even in small businesses, you walk in how many computers you have, well, we just have three. And then you start poking around, you find out Oh, wow, they've got this Android tablet, an Android phone is connecting to the business WiFi. And therefore now the business computers are completely exposed. Plus people are working from home, they're using their laptops, using computers right from home. So now that whole network is exposing, that computers now exposed to the home network to the business network, because they're not using the VPN the way supposed to VPN is supposed to be used because they're using the wrong software. Again, and again and again and again. And again. You know, even the IT people, you know, we run into brake fixed shops all the time and the so-called managed services vendors that just have no idea what they're doing. None. Because all they have to do is no more than you know, listen, everybody, it's your responsibility to make sure your business is safe and you cannot pass it off. Okay, here's a quote again. This is from Samir, in the article you see up on my website about CIOs, it's your responsibility. A Forrester industry analyst who's tracking 150 or so security companies said that he's hearing about 5 or 10 new ones almost every weekend security space. And each one is talking of bigger and worse threats and the rest. Craig 26:09 It's just absolutely amazing. It's I see it again. And again. People go when they take a course. they've got their course on security. And now they think that they're an expert, right? No, a two-week course, a six-month course does not make you an expert. And I know there are a few of you guys because you've reached out to me who listened to this on the radio or on iTunes or on YouTube, who have signed up for cybersecurity classes. I think that's a great thing. But also those people aren't thinking that, well, I've got my shingle I'm now an expert right? No. Six months in an intensive cybersecurity course is going to get your career launched. And God bless you. You're in a great community. Great career ahead of you. Okay, where there's going to be a five-year career or lifetime career. But those people cannot be the people who are running the cybersecurity for your business. You're the one that has to take it. Take that bull by the horns. If you are one of those people, reach out to me, me@CraigPeterson.com. I am more than glad to share resources with you. Absolutely free ok. Me@CraigPeterson.com. I can help you out. So frustrating because remember, this happened to me 25 years ago, and I got it taken care of back then. And so I understand where you're at, I was there. I almost lost my business because of a hack. And I don't want you to lose yours. Okay, or your job or your career. Anyhow, me@CraigPeterson.com. Make sure you subscribe to my weekly newsletter. You'll get security updates what's happening out there http://CraigPeterson.com/subscribe. Have a great week everybody. We'll be back on Monday. Be back with Jack Heath on Monday during drive time and the Jim Polito drink drive time. Ken and Matt and much more. So keep an ear out. Or look me up, http://CraigPeterson.com. Take care. Chris Husong is a market expert in the hemp industry. Accounting for the challenges of public perception, legal challenges, and the burdens of science to prove the claims for hemp benefits have all shaped the climate in which hemp is used today. Born in Texas, Chris moved with his parents a few times throughout the country, studied theology in California, worked in finance and telecom, and after confronting his own biases, discovered that the hemp industry needed legitimatization. Teaching the skeptics, directing messaging for correct use, and ultimately using education as the chosen tool for sales, Chris shared with GCP why the truth behind hemp is the only way to properly build its acceptance.https://elixinol.comFacebook: @Elixinol https://www.facebook.com/elixinol/LinkedIn: @Elixinol https://www.linkedin.com/company/elixinol/Twitter: @ElixinolCBD parts store's loss was last minimum three exclusions apply conference 10 3119 well it's a gut check project this is episode number eight project we check our egos at the door and they get your health in check I'm here with your host Dr. Kenneth Brown I'm Eric Rieger Doug Brown I doing today I'm doing fantastic episode number eight holy cow I feel like we have the words flying through these episodes every time we come always a better guess today is no exception at all this is gonna be really exciting now is to be very exciting is your mind when you said episode number eight remember that show it is enough I don't want that to be the theme as well as Rabbi and it won't be today she was incredibly excited we have on today Christian song long term market experience within the hemp industry and he has me setting it is getting an incredible tale of coming from a world of high regulation in telecom and in banking and basically what the hemp industry means to America he's got lots of interaction stories and what it takes to make people understand the importance of hemp and how to accept the message of me what did you can you gather out of that amine Christmas we met at first two years ago yeah so my my initial meeting of Christmas two years ago that's we told the story before will repel your facts right and I walked by the lexical booth and another salesperson other than marketing person Christine Thiel grab me and the thing I remember most about that is Dave Christine and Chris all super tall like this is a really tall child apparently hip will make you taller I know you call me someone will be involved with that company so we could do some real basketball or something you know join the election all basketball team what you honestly if you're in listening to get your project today if you've ever wondered about hey look at him is new to me and I'm not really sure what to think that's that's okay today's episode is really kind incredible as Chris can walk through what it's like to to not just look at Hampton say minutes taboo that's taboo it's okay so many people started there and he's got a lot of experience in helping people understand the benefits behind him and what he can do to change their lives for what I love about this is that he comes from these industries are so regulated and she had to transform that into an industry that is so misunderstood you know when you look at that you look at his bio he only looks on website it says it is skilled in helping people and companies overcome their psychological creative and strategic barriers so that they can achieve the professional personal and creative goals so more than just be the chief marketing officer this guys can be my life coach break through all those barriers yet when Ken and Chris Chris's got a lot of a lot of expense he actually went to theological theology school in not in California but were to talk about that for sure yes that means because just think about the transition nearly everything he's gone through in and of course and he's either great guy can't wait from to join the show hit the bottom of the hour course that they were have KPD KB MD's corner where basically Dr. Brown will die do like he's been doing the last seven shows in address some recent research topics and get tiny previews about what to talk about your two minutes yeah so what we always like to do is try to have a bootable format here so everyone knows what to get it into the show so we know we have a fantastic guest I also want to talk about some recent science it's out there so we have forcefully graduate student that helps us out and she sent a really cool article about ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease the same disease that killed Stephen Hawking right I have a very personal tide of this because when my good friends Dr. Russell Veronica in San Antonio a gastroenterologist that I've trained with and with medical school with his father unfortunately passed away of this so I saw this article which to my knowledge the first one that actually looks at ALS and CBD ties in perfectly because we have Christmas song near chief marketing officer now we can't make disease claims what we can say is look it may help some of these different diseases where there really is no treatment and this is a really cool study that I wanted didn't and it's also even said that because today shows can be so incredible and that the way we learn how to balance real information and what we can legally say as a marketing person and then what the consumer can do with both of these angles to kind of piece these puzzles together much like the episode we had last time in stem cell oh yeah you know this fascinating cool stuff you like why don't more people know about this will Chris has to deal with that every day is like no we can say this we can't say this oh my goodness yes is be fantastic if we did this but we have to do it this way because his background I think is a perfect background coming from the super regulated industry to an area that is so gray that you really need somebody very disciplined like him to sort of take the reins and that's why think election all such unique company yet without question let's get some of the paying the bills out of the way and first off the bat love my tummy.com/spoony what could that be in reference to well I believe you're talking about my baby trying to I am trying to so we talk about how our transit was initially developed for bloating and digestive issues change in bowel habits abdominal discomfort what I am seeing a whole lot of which is really cool really getting into this practice of just coming up in the next few weeks that are professional triathletes we have different bodybuilders and things like that that we have slated to come in one of the things we do realize is that the polyphenols in trying to actually increase blood flow to the muscles so that you can have better performance in just about everything so the polyphenols go to your: where your own colonic archer will break them down into anti-inflammatory and basically antioxidant species so that you can recover from workouts and you can actually increase blood flow so not only is it good for bloating but I encourage everyone to go to love my Tommy.com/spoony put in the spooning code SP 00 NY and get 10% off I just answered you did bring up athlete hotrod teal is the only NSF certified for sport product out there indicated for bloating what is it me so if something is NSF certified for sport specifically it means that 1/3 party the NSF foundation has taken the product and they made certain that everything you mark on your package is truthful date they can be backed up that the claims that you have for your studies are verified and that every single product it makes up the composite award the product itself is clean if you're an athlete you don't have to worry that something you and a girl you're going to take with the NSF certified for sport moniker on it might contaminate a sample or might not do exactly what the ad the labeling says so NSF certified for sport is the same thing that Richard dietitians there with MLB NFL NCAA Olympics Olympics they look for that little mark to make certain that when they recommend a supplement or an over-the-counter supplement or aid to their athletes that it's on there so they know that it's a it's a clean product and John Teal features that endorsement that's also because a lot of companies don't have that we pay to play for that eventually I think that what we should have is a KB MD endorsement over here was just means that we like the product to say absolutely right some quick follow-up from from my last week show one of the coolest things as people began to take in Dr. Wade McCann as if he didn't check out episode seven go back and listen last week if you have any questions about stem cells the future stem cells what it's like to market stem cells in this FDA over regulating environment even know you have truth in your hands go back and listen episode seven but once Wade McKenna finished his his episode all week we received email I even got texts stem cells are good for hair growth stem cells can actually help me with my sciatica that I've been dealing with for a few years it's amazing what people don't know about stem cells and then how many people said I thought whenever I used quote unquote cord blood that I was using stem cells and it turns out that you're just not so anyway last week's feedback to getting feedback from last week I got a ton of feedback I actually got a ton of feedback people were I got a lot of calls people wanted to go I think a lot of people actually call me how to actually get into Dr. Wade McKenna's practice of which I think is also because when we have some real like that they can make it make a difference I mean when I sit there and think about this we are completely under utilizing everybody with analysts on the show so far photo bio modulation stem cells once you get into the science you like wow the site speaks for itself much like CBD yes science much like outrun to the science hold its own yeah and that's a cool sinks within a marketing gimmick it's none of this and that's what Chris is going talk about how do you how to stay above how do you stay above the bar where everybody else is trying to play a marketing game and usually want to get out there and help people that's remarkable whenever you look back and you does mention it photo by modulation with James Carroll and talking about stem cells last week with the Dr. McKennitt the parallels that were running here with the CBD industry or hemp industry and what the FDA basically is doing because the FDA is it it it playing all three of those we got truth and results so true and you just can't cannot see it's crazy but anyhow if and you can always go back and check any of our previous episodes you can always go to iTunes and search for gut check project so be sure to subscribe and share with the print so speaking of share with a friend sought a shout out and we need a little help from our audience here only give a shout out to share there as well that we are always here in the Sony studio you can always listen live it spoony.com so smutty.com iTunes get check project YouTube gadget project thank you so much subscribe and share so Dr. Brown let's head into KPMG corner what's on the corner today well let's talk a little bit about some personal stuff start this is kind of interesting I'm a little bit embarrassed about this what you know how when sometimes it's too close to you and you don't know what's going on well my mom unfortunately she fell hurt her shoulder about three months ago and she's been rehabbing Kent and I was just talking to her and I just went oh my gosh did I not send you CBD that are not and she owes no I don't know you know I tried something like that some hemp oil what she tried screws that endure anything else like okay let me send you something so I sent her some bottles with some vitamin D and sufficient oil because I believe in using these fatty acids to really help brain information in such large Dr. couple days ago and she was post be doing three more months of rehab and she goes okay and it's so exciting I don't have to go to rehab anymore my shoulder feels great it actually back to normal this is after you sent everything this is after center about two weeks of using the CBD and so she's Artie on trunk Hill always has been for quite a while but so after sending the CBD and now embarrassed because I'm like oh my gosh my own mom herself and that would be something owed to the patient immediately you just forget when it's too close and then my sister who's actually black belt in aikido and she's always been yourself open to students rose to banged up my mom gave her a bottle and she just texted me this morning said oh my gosh that works so well the key to this Morgan talk about this with Chris that there are differences in different types of CBD and what is out there how you market so my personal story is sorry mama should be given to to three months ago just was too close to it we got so much stuff going on and you know fortunately better late than never she's doing great yeah I know that's a it's of these brothers, interesting so you said in another we can touch on Chris but when James was on James Carroll from outdoor laser he talked about imitators right and then last week with the with Dr. Wade mechanically talked about imitators or people that don't administer stem cells appropriately or may not actually even be utilizing stem cells but saying that they are or putting in chemicals that will destroy destroy those that are not probably not to their own fault I just don't know enough about it because the reality is we talked about this is CBD industry and I'm I tell my patients this I said I would get into a loop of the science would explain a little bit we have this new brochure that explains a little bit and we get into the fact of what your end or cannabinoid system is how it links the nervous system and the immune system put you back in balance that is so simplistic because the reality is were going to see a field of medicine called Endo Kanab analogy and your Genesee specialist called Endo Canavan allergist's share I'm convinced of it sure any of you have a hepatology ST have the endocrinologists there is actually no reason why you would have an Indo Campanella just as we begin to learn more that CBD absolutely totally agree right it's about you anything going on in the personal life personal life at the boys I mean honestly the boys are doing great. During off-season basketball who ended up I know that seems like add the theme but that's that's really what they're into but I did go shoot with my youngest earlier this week and I learned that dad dad is the worst basketball player in the household now Matt can drain from all points of the court I'm just I'm no match anymore there faster than I am and now that he's basically 6 foot tall and 15 and gauges about 61 now in 1730 I just not much I can do with with either one of them so very much dominate brain I headed down to Kaleo FX this week though oh that's right you want one of my favorite conferences to be great conference it's a chemist think that immediate which is so busy just to go this week will unfortunately I have to go to Newark New Jersey and film a national commercial for archer until Roger entails time to take out her until the next level were to be doing some national commercial so I would love it really affects would love to be helping out at the election all booth pate BMD CBD booth trash and talk about trying to learn the on the entourage effect without an CBD but I don't fly up to New York in the true commercial which I'm a little bit nervous about the Wilson estate bowing on the head Keith Michelle Noris tune into your commercial as soon as it airs big shot today and they are the one to put on file with X they do a great job if you never been that appealing effects in Austin Texas it is what's your time you going to be introduced to a bunch of different things that could probably change her health and that's how we found CBD out and say I'm very partial to pill effects last year I give a talk and one over really well talked a lot of people had to be able to get their books it was really exciting you just it just fun to see a like-minded community I did the mojo 50 show this morning we're talking about sugar and the paler community does not really eat M&Ms those guys do M&M tasting Delphi lot M&Ms of failure effect listen if you have M&Ms you to balance it out with much until Fisher 100% totally so yeah you just have a great time hello effects I will make you feel better about you not been know to beat your sons because the only person that can warm Lucas up is my daughter Carla because both my wife and I are incapable of even even hit the ball back against those guys don't know probably know why it's super humiliating I I feel memo Mike is it embarrassing that the youngest person in the family is the only person I can warm Osama before matches and vice versa they want each other up it's really cool that's get down so I'd have any hits on the on the corner before Chris joins us will I do want to bring up one thing here I will bring up an article I was try to bring up one article to talk about just now woman talk about marketing Christmas songs it's about marketing a lot of people look at the big deal I want to tell everyone about this and so on I really like to look at disease specific states And the article that we can achieve that in the beginning here is an article related to the meta-analysis was published in the Journal of neurochemistry here this year just couple months ago and what it looked at is it did a meta-analysis which is a compilation of studies usually meta-analysis I have in the scientific literature are considered to be more robust picture taking a lot of studies putting them together and this is looking at ALS known as anti-atrophic lateral sclerosis Lou Gehrig's disease is a devastating disease and as I had mentioned earlier it actually took the life of my good friend Dr. Russ of Ron Ike whose guesser Alderson San Antonio and we actually saw his dad his father correct we actually saw this progressive disease and that's the deal about ALS eight what it does is if you're unaware of it I find it to be one of the most devastating diseases out there there's a book called Tuesdays with Maury that I read back many years ago they commit a movie about it also censures about the progress the progression of ALS and somebody that where there is a caregiver helping them out and you get a feeling about how it just slowly chips away and what it does this damages the nerves that control muscles so over time all of your muscles weaken to the point where they cannot contract eventually hitting the diaphragm so you can't read you lose the ability to speak because you can't control your tongue you lose the ability fine motor movement changes first because the small muscles go and you can't button things and it is just a debilitating but you keep your mind eventually you have some mind changes and they don't really understand why it is they believe there's a small genetic component but really what it is it's an excitatory issue with the nerves releasing too many of certain chemicals that eventually do not allow the do not allow the muscle to contract on the words and try to sting like muscle doesn't work so this was quite a while ago I've been in practice for 17 years Russ and I with both med school and fellowship together it was during residency so were talking 27 years ago 25 years ago I do know anything about CBD fat I know they must be in touch two years ago so this study came out red actually showed that they looked at mice and they looked at their ability to travel distance they looked at their grip strength that she put them through some sort of little American ninja course where they had them hang upside down on the net so like a Jacob's ladder, it was it was it was really it was fascinating that I made a run a wheel what they did is they they actually looked at those that had that were given CBD and those that were the control group and what they showed across the board in this meta-analysis is that those mice I'm sorry let me preface that the mice were genetically predisposed to have ALS so they all had a lot okay okay and what they did is that they showed that the mice that were on CBD could actually run further the mice could cling long-running that they actually increase the grip strength running real activity and they had improved survival and they did not have weight loss when they looked at all the studies something stood out to me that was very interesting they were all given CBD one particular study that they look that used a Madrigal inhibitor now what Maggio is is that's the enzyme that breaks down to AG one of your Dodgers and of cannabinoids in one of these days were to get into the deep science about the inner cannabinoid system gets all complex that's a drug it's in study and it's called KM L 29 so it's fascinating that the FDA's over here try to regulate right and in the background you've got drug companies try to develop drugs to manipulate the system if they can figure out that's awesome but is really interesting because the macro inhibitor was not as good as the traditional CBD and so what they found is that CD1 and CB to agonists in other words CBD significantly delayed the decline of motor function when compared to the control group and they showed a consistent 12 to 25 days longer of normal motor function in the mouse world what you doing is really improving that so right now there's no treatment for this they've got a couple drugs available one called real you tech and one called red Dick Reddick Have Not Even Sure That That Was around When Ross's Dad Was Sick They Said That It Could Potentially Slow down the Progression by a Month or Two While the Superexpensive Month or Two That's It I Member at the Time When We Went outside and Rushes Flying All over the Country Thing Is That Everywhere There Were Trying Everything They're Looking at Using Creatine and Different Things like That so Here We Have This Deal Where We've Got Eight Now You Can't Just Translate Mouse Models to Humans But It's Really One of the First Step in Trying to Figure Some Stuff out My Deal Is That We Know That CBD Helps in Many Different Ways and I'm Not Saying That This Is a Disease Claim I'm Not Saying That This Is Functioning and Will Help but It Certainly Can't Hurt and Might Help Right so When You Have a Very Specific Disease Group like ALS to Desperate Group with No Significant Treatment I Think It's Fascinating That These Guys Went to the Trouble of Putting Together This Mouse Data to Actually Try and Figure This out so Here We Have Grip Strength Upside down Running All of It Which Means That There Is Some Potential That This Could Actually Help This Very Devastating Disease and Is Very Small Group of People Because It's Rare but When It Does Affect You It Affects Everybody It May Affect One Person so the Number the Thing We'll Talk about Is When We Say Disease Oh This Is the Incidence of This Disease This Is the Prevalence of This Disease As Somebody Who Lost My Dad at a Young Age It Affects More Than Just the Person That Dies Share the Prevalence or the Incidence of the Disease Affects Everyone Around Them Right so I Think That If We Can Help Those People with ALS If You Know Anybody with ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease This Is Something That May Be Showmen We Can Certainly Forward This Article to Anybody That Would like to so Include Any of the Studies That Utilize a Mouse AMI All All of the Drugs They Began and and and Started There to Try to Find out If This Is a Workable Model and Unfortunately with Today's Highly Regulated Environment He Can't Just Keep Going Forward but Were Trying to Help People Connect the Dots This That CBD Is Safe to Take and You Shouldn't Have Any Serious Side Effects Certainly by Please Think Our Dialects and the Power Power by Licks and All so Chris You We Are Now in Dallas That's Where Our Studio Is Siam in Dallas Here with You Guys Thanks for Having Me I Grew up in Plano Just down the Road Just I Know That That's Also That's Where I Live Right Now Sam Right on Teakwood Okay All Right in the Middle Was Back When There Was Still Some Farmland in That Region Roads That Were Definitely Not Paved Back That Well While You Have Made Your Journey All the Way to Being a Market Expert but It Was You Got Zero Stress Remember I Was Told about Russ and His Dad yet Will He's Just Call Me Right Here Is Try to Call Him to Let Me Describe a Little Bit about about His Experience Home on Such a Crazy Timing to Rent a Van Fantastic What Will Look at That Set up Well in the Meantime While Were Getting the Call Set up Which This Be Our First Time We've Ever Had Live Taller All for You Chris That's Awesome Though Our Weight Much to Say Go Wildcats for Plano West Guy While Nice Nice Sticky Big Absolutely so from Plano You Are You Hello When You Plan to Graduate High School There No so I Was Born in the Fort Stockton Texas Home Right Now Where Judge Judge Roy Bean the Hanging Judge a Hanging Judge Meant to Write Also the Largest Groundhog Population in Texas That at the Time Did I Know That I Seconds Probably Pretty Pretty Have Been Doing down There but No I Moved to All over Texas with My Dad Is an Engineer for General Electric Okay so We Were All over the Place and Then Moved to California Right and I Graduated College out There and Jumped around All Sorts of Places since Then Is Your Degree in Theology Theology Yeah That's Right This Is Great for What I'm Doing Preaching about Hemp and CBD What May Think That I in All Honesty When You Find That There Is Actually Quite a Bit of Similarity and There's Going to Be A Lot of Congruent Messaging Well There There Is A Lot Of Congruent Messaging and and We Can Get Super Deep on It If You'd like but Overall Community, Theology or CVD Will Get the Loan Both of Them Get Real Deep on Both but That Because I Think Are Highly Connected I Think One of Them I Don't Know How Far You Want to Get into This Right Now but CBD Itself I Think It's Is One of the Main Things in the Unit Can Have Annoyed Systems and Allows All That Better Empathy Sure Which Is What Is Causing so Much Disregard and Disconnection in Our Society Right Now Right and If We Can All Take a Significant Amount of Quality CB and Improve Our Ability For Our Brain to Connect with People and and Not Have Social Anxiety And Connect to People Then Were Going to Actually Build Improve Our Culture and and Not Not Have All These Great Divides so I Would Assume That Probably Whenever You Are Studying Theology That That May Not Have Been Your Attitude Towards CBD or Hemp Products or That Was Even on Your Radar Though My Gosh Cannabis in CBD and Hemp Was Bad Sure You Know the Devils We Write Back Then and That It's Definitely Not Something That I Supported I Told My Kids Said No Don't Do Dumb Stuff Listen to Dad and Don't Do Drugs and Cannabis Was Definitely One of Those Things and I Had to Change My Tune Much Later in Life and My Mom Actually Group Cannabis and Marijuana While She Was Raising Us in Texas and Oklahoma and Back What Was Illegal She Was like One of the Original Member That Was – She Is Original OGE That so and You Know I I Being the Rebellious Teenager Decide I'm to Put Our Three-Piece Suit and Go Learn Religion and You Look down from My Port Perch on People and Obviously I Had to Humble Myself and Admit Mom Was Right the Whole Time That Is so Fascinating I Don't Want to Break the Story Whatsoever but I Think We Have Our First Because This Is Going All Dr. Russell Running San Antonio He Is Patched in And Russ Can Hear Us Morning Man This Is Also My Was That Obvious He Heard the Show This Morning Was Talk about You and Your Dad I Appreciate That That Means A Lot It Does so Russ Whenever You Found out That Your Dad Had ALS When When You Look at the Options That Were on the Table What and in You Being Physician What Did You Think of the Landscape and What Did You Think the Options Would Be For Him and Then Now Looking Back to What What Cans Talking about in Terms of CBD and ALS What I Mean I Lost My Dad You've Lost Your Dad Can Lost His Dad and You Know It's It's No Fun for Anyone Any Always Wish That You Had the Experiences of Technology Later What What Do You Wish You Could Take Back to in Time from What We Learn Now She Mentioned That My Dad Started Get Sick with ALS Back When Can Our Medical School Diseases Just Initiated This Really Is and They're Just Just Seated Man Who Was Pillar of Strength and It Just Wait, Wait Enough and Where They Couldn't Hold a Hammer He Could Climb a Ladder and the Most Devastating Part of That for Us Was When He Studied the Single Ball Ballparks in Ankeny and Carry on a Conversation and Eat Well Anymore Back Then There Was Nothing for Writers One of Those Diseases like Pancreatic Cancer You Got It Sorry I Just Not Then We Can Do and Then I Moved down Here to San Antonio Started Launching Residency and Fellowship and Hooked up with Carding Jackson Was a Neurologist down Here Amazing Woman Who Runs a Big ALS Clinic Here in South Texas and I Started Flying My Dad down Twice a Year and She'd See Him in an Even In Her Clinic It Was the Experimental Things of This Kind of False Hope Was Some Anti-Inflammatories There Wasn't Anything That Worked and There Are Days When It Looked like It May Be a Little Stronger and Days When He Wouldn't Now 15 Years Looking Back You Know That He's Been Gone There's Been so Much Advancement in so Many of These Neurologic Diseases and It's These Natural Types of Things That Seem to Keep Coming up As Potential Cures for This and Have Even Had an Opportunity to Have Him Try Something like This Back Then I Did My Right Arm for Combat and I Would Believe That You Don't Get Back That's I Think When You Talk about Suitable Were What Is Referring to Is the Ability to Swallow the Ability to Form Wet so I Remember When Your Dad Would Come Visit and We Would All Go to Your We Would Gather His Residence Would Go to the Pool And She Would Mumble Words That Only a Wife of 30 Years Could Understand and She Would Translate so He Was Still Completely with It Couldn't Communicate but That Kinda Shows Also the Bond That Husband and Wife Can Have Watching Your Mom Be Able to Understand What Your Dad Was Trying to Say Was Very Touching to All of Us In Talking with Him and That's the Part He Hated the Most You Got Your French Don't You Go out Yes and Cocktails Have a Dinner You Care Phone Conversation When You're like That Friends Don't Want to Hang out with You Anymore Because It's Hard and Embarrassing to to Say I Don't Know What You're Saying so There Were Times When My Dad Loved to Drink Beer I like to Drink Beer I Were Small-Town Nebraska I Would Grow up up There so When He Got to That Point in His Disease And He We Had the Decision to Finally A Peg Tube Feeding Put Two But into His Stomach to Swallow Much Anymore When You Come down Here and I Cannot Would Sit around and We Drink Beer and Dad Would Set Some up in Achieving Stringent Squared Together and It Was Awesome and and One of the Greatest Things I Remember Doing with My Dad Back and When He Got to Where He Couldn't Talk Was I Flew up and Picked Him up and Took Him up to Minnesota Went Fishing and Camping for Weekend We Sat around the Campfire We Just Drank until I Can Really Talk Either Loved It but That's What That Disease Did Nothing We Tried Were I Think That What Were Seeing Now with This Is That We Can Talk on the Mode of How Potentially the End of Cannabinoid System Works in These Neurotransmitters No Rust We Have Christmas Song on the Show Today Is the Marketing Director of Licks and All and He Was Just Tell yet He Was Talking about How His Mom Actually Was The Original OG Is Raising Her She Was Growing Marijuana and He Went to Theology School, Rebelled The Opposite Way like If You Are a Pastor You Really Grow Weed If You're Growing We Bellied Theology School You Find out You Know What You Go Back to the Things Parents. It Worked and It Made Sense Mom Was Right I Long Yeah Yeah I Mean I Joke That All the Time. I Grew up My Dad Was Yellow Country Music and Bud Light Not Solid to Rock 'n' Roll and Drink Out Of Date Now 50 and I Listen to Country Music Drink Bud Light Back Here at That Time That Often Did That Because You Find Those Things Were We Did Know Hey Rossiter – Neurology Practice Are You Incorporating Type of Natural Alternative Anything like That Big and Real High Population of People That Are Educated on the Younger Patient Population That I Have an Initial Internet Savvy and A Lot Of Them Come to Me Already Knowing A Lot about These Things and Having Read A Lot about These Things It's All out There When You Look Which Having Awesome so I Do I Have Acrobatic Doctors That I Work with I Have A Lot Of Patients on CD Oils Not Just for Things like This That Were Talking about but My Miles to Christ in Crohn's Patients with Chronic Nausea Patients My Chronic Pain Patients like Everything It Works for Some and It Does Percent Doesn't. Well I Want to See How It Was with What You Can Find Is That and What I Found Is That Not All CBD Is Created Equal And so with Some Things and so We Have Chris on Right Here and That I I'm Very I Think I Have a Similar Mantra Have A Lot Of Patience to Come into Being There Already Though I'd Artie Tried to Be like My Mom Tried Hemp Oil Which Probably Was Hemp Seed Oil Now That I Think about It in the Will and so It's like All Things You Know Not All Seabees Created Equal That's Working to Get into Today for the Rest of the Show Talk about This How Do You Market That How You Get the Word out That Just Because You Tried This Blanket Term CBD You Know You Gotta Really Make Sure That They Got a Certificate of Analysis and All That so I Want to Do If You Had Patients and It Didn't Work on Listing the Rest of the Show Because It May Be That the Power Dialects All Brand Is What You Really Need That's Exactly What We Need to Hear Some I'm Glad You Get Thanks for Involving Me and Bring Back Member My Dad and Mandalay Castle Being Vulnerable and Talking about That I Think It's Important for You Know I'm the Same Way Love Talk about My Dad It's Been You Many Years Now 30 Years since He Died so I'm Lucky Enough Still Have My Dad but My Fondest Memories Are Him Drinking Coors Light on the Boat Name for Court like Nebraska State Aire's Stepdaughter Russ I Was Met Together and That Means That We We with Some Real Lean Years Were We Were Broke Ass Med Student and Your Dad Will Visit And We Would Purposely Go to Bars with a Wood Offers like Specials like in This Bar It Will and You Don't Medical Whatever I'm Agreed As I Am Still a Bud Light like You Have but You Know Such Such Beers like 50% Was like I Was like Yeah Yeah Johnny Jerilyn $4.55 Dollars to Run I Got My Recall and in This Is Awesome That Your First Call Every Now and Certainly I Deftly Appreciated I Appreciate You Guys and Will Keep with the Man Thanks for All You Do Appreciate It I See Russ Well Chris to Talk about Beer Similar Talk about Boys You Know What I'll Say This I Remember Listening to a Podcast Were One of the Reasons Why Beer May Be so Popular Is Because the Hops and Actually Have a End of – You Have a Cannabinoid -like Molecule so My Understanding Is That That Was All Made up All Really Got Some Some Marketing Guy Used His Powers for Evil Instead of Good and That the Two Companies That Are And It Kinda Leaves What You're Talking about Not All Seabees Made Same Two Companies That Were behind Those Actually Had to Admit That There Was Those Studies Were Completely Phone No Kidding Yeah That Is Fascinating I Was Feeling and Have Chris Consider Just Burst Bubble to Be Dropping Some Truth Bombs Now That's Awesome What We Were Just Wrapping up so You To Get into the Hemp Industry Because Krista Talked about His Trek from from Fort Stockton to Plano out to out to California and Then You Spend a Little Time in Germany Germany Where I Did Learn A Lot about Beer Dealer Lot Is Three and Half Years on the High School There and Going to Prom and Castles and All Sorts of Fun Stuff That's a Little Different Doing for like We Did Were in Plano Where I Would've Would've Done It Sure Sure so Then after School You Then Get into Some Regulatory I Figured out This Beeper and Pager and Wireless Things Can Be a Big Deal so I Started Selling Cell Phones and Pagers and You Know Five Dollar Minute Type Technology in and Got into the Technology World and Got into When Sprint Was in One Market You Can Only Use Her Cell Phone in Fresno Okay and Then the Only Been Growing since Then Moved from There into the Finance World and Helped with A Lot Of Regulatory World and There and Open Market under A Lot Of Rules and Regulations and While I Was There I Met a Guy Who Is Doing Documentary on Campus and He Was Put Together All These Different Case Studies and All These Different Videos and Clips of These People That Have Been Healed by Campus and at That Time I Was like No Bunch of Stoners and You Just Want You with the with the Theology Background You Carry a Bias with These Going into These Other Careers Are More Open-Minded at This Point What Based on My Initial Upbringing by My Mom Who Is Very Open Minded I Was I Was Always Questioning Authority and Questioning Things and through That Entire Process Even Going through Theology School I Was Questioning Everything around Me You Know the Minute That and Again I Don't Know How Deep You Want to Get into Religion Here but the Minute That I Heard about Their Profit Care and Oh How They the Canonization of All of the Books and How They Got into the Bible I Started to Start Questioning A Lot More and You Know They Trying Teach You That the Bible Is 100% the Word of God and Then You Decide to Figure out That Is about 15 White Guys in a Room to Decide Which Books Are in the Bible and You Only but Little Doubt in Your Head Sure I Don't I Don't Know That 15 Guys Can Agree about Anything and Deftly When Trust Something like That That's Guiding so Many People's Lives Divided 15 Guys in Room so It's It's Definitely No Been Something I'm Always Open-Minded and Looking at Things and Questioning Things I'm Click to Decide and Slow to Change My Mind so I See Something That's Right and Usually Jump Right in and Stick with It May Be Too Long and Then Dismantled That up but I Learned My Lesson Sooner or Later Click to Decide Slow to Change My Mind That Is a That Is a Great Line This It's like You Make a Decision but You Don't Have To Make the Right Decision to Make Your Decision Right That A Lot Of Times I Mean We've Already It's That Little Cliché but Sure Enough Perfect Is Sometimes the Enemy of Good Brian and I like to Move Fast and Make the Decisions What I What I Believe in My Gut I Think That If More People Moved That Way Things to Get Done A Lot Faster in Love Things I Think Doubt Self-Doubt Challenges A Lot Of Us and from a Marketer And I like to Empower People to Make the Right Decisions and Given the Right Information That I Learned Early on in My Sales Careers That When People Tell You Know It's It's Primarily Because They Don't Have Enough Information to Say Yes the More Information We Can Give Them the More Education We Can Give Them Then They Can Move Forward So It's Just That Self-Doubt That Little Gut Thing That We Need to Move Them on Let Me Answer Question Measured Market Are One of the Things That I Have Run into with My Colleagues to Coworkers and Things Is That When Somebody Is so Entrenched in Their Belief They Get This Cognitive Dissonance Where It's Almost like There Is a Logical From Then on Transits and Religion Parallels That Tremendously If There's Anything That Has Cognitive Dissonance Is When Somebody Has the Religion and You like Look Just Saying That This Is like You Said It's 15 White Dudes in a Room You Know Maybe It's Not Everything I You Know There's A Lot Of Things I Grew up Catholic so I'm I'm I'm a Recovering Catholic and We Do Know There's There's A Lot Of Things I Look Back on Them like Ha Knows A Lot Of Things Were Really Good about It Right Discipline You Know Learning Empathy Learning These Different Things Learning to Be Held Accountable for What You Do There's Higher Good Buyer Doing All This of the Stall That There's Times That I Took Away from Theology and Take Away from Christianity and Many of the Religions That I've Studied but Absolutely One of the Things That Jesus Did Many Other of the of the Profits They Questioned Authority May Question Things and so It's Really Important That We Teach Our Kids Only Teach People to Question You Know Why Is CBD Bad by Wise Cannabis Bad You Know That Doesn't Make Any Sense and You Know If You Really Want to Get Deep on Some of the the Conspiracy Theories of How This All Got Legally Illegal We Could Get down That Road to Because It Is Crazy Will It Tell You What First of All Is Not All Right Thought Would Be Going off Right into A Lot Of Parallels That with This so What I Want to Ask You Is a Marketer How Do You Was a Marketer Overcome This Cognitive Dissonance so Primarily It's Education Right What What Sit in Front of Me and What Changed My Mind Is Facts I When You Look at Some Kid Or Some Mom or Some Dad That His Life Has Been Changed Because They're Taking CBD on a Regular Basis They Went from Not Being Able to Talk To Being Able to Talk No They Went from 300 Seizures a Day Two No Seizures but Those Type of Things You Can't Deny Right Something Is Working so If You're Able Then to Dig into Why Is That Not like Rafael Mitchell and Started Right He Went to Discover the Why We Get High Right Many Found in a Can-Am Annoyed System and Then He's Figured out There's More Than One Cabinet to New There's A Lot Of People Don't Know Who That Is Identical I've Read A Lot about Him Please Explain Who He Is Sort of the Godfather Godfather in the Can-Am Annoyed System and He's the One That in an Israel Went to Go Does Study Why THC Affects People And He Threw His Studies Found the Indo Cannabinoid System and the CD1 and CB to Receptors and Why We Get High and Started Been Digging into the Plant In Finding That There's Many More Cannabinoids and Found CB Juan and CBN and CBG and All These Things and He's Really the One That It Brought This to the Forefront for Everyone and Only Because Return for Why People Get Hot and Move Forward from There A True Scientist and Also Somebody Who Discovered Something That I Did Learn about Med School No Is 9% of Medical Schools Now Teach about That Night I'm Surprised It's Not Really I Think That's Higher Than What I Would've Said I Would've Said 0% It Said to Me It Still Shocking That Is That Low That It's Ever I Mean I Understand Coming from Medical Field Where You Were Taught about It so That Makes Sense Right but Even 9% of Sure All the Doctors out There How Much Impact Just This One Camp Mind Is Made Can You Imagine If 20% of Our Doctors Knew about How This Mean the Doctors That That I Talk to Every Day You Know They Run the Gamut Summerlike Yes All Day In Summer like Crazy I Lose My License Right and That's the Education Back to What Your Talk about How You Change the Minds What a Link Small Has Done and Work with People like You Is to Make Sure That Those Influencers of the Health and Wellness World Those Health Professionals out There Those Doctors Are Equipped with Education Because There to Make the Biggest Impact You Know I Can Go Sell a Bunch of This Online and All Search Ads up There and Click Send It There but What We've Decided to Is Focused Primarily on Helping Health Professionals to Learn about Our Product Because There Can Make Big Impact in the Community so That I Think That That Is All I'm Sorry about That I Think That's Paul Paul W Are Found When Joy Was Here She Was Describing Your You Paul Gabe Your Etiology Is Not so Much Just to Move Product It's to Educate the World so That This All Become Something Bigger Hundred Percent Hundred Percent Our Founder Paulino Is Pre-Much a Citizen of the World Now He Considers Himself One of Those Guys That That Doesn't Belong Any One Country That Belongs to the All of the World and He's Trying to Make Big Changes CDs Just One of Them You Know He's Been a Hen Pioneer since the 90s Right and Made the Very First Hemp Bar Because It Had so Many Omega-3's and Omega Sixes and Nobody Was Getting Those Essential Fats Right Now You Have To Get Them from Meat Is What They Were Trying so Need to Know You Can Get It from the Plants and You Can Start Getting Those Things Because You Could Lit so Many People Implant Diets Were Deficient And There Is No Reason Because We Had Hemp Constantly When I Met You and Chrissy Feel They Will Affect Two Years Ago I Knew Nothing Was in Two or Three Working up on the Third One Now Is at Three Bad Is Probably through Your Probably Right Because I Give a Lecture Last Year Yes Is Your Go to the Third Value about so What Happened to Me Was I Just Walked by the Booth and I Was Just That Christie Just Said You Discredited Love You Bunches That Happens When Everyone Christie Just Brought Everybody and She Such a Great Evangelist Shoot She Has but It Was Literally It's like I Don't Know What You're Talking about What I Did Your Enthusiasm Send a Case to My Office Area and I Gave Away the Whole Case You Can Take Any Blog I Talk about I Did Well but One Bottle and What I Found Is That I Guess Maybe Got to Get to 24 I Think I Had 22 People Come Back after the Bottle Run out the Big Bottle of 3600 It's I Want More Know It Okay Run Something And I Gave It to I Didn't of Insiders Ate the Cost and Elect Someone to See Unbiased Just Predicate Event Just Tell Me What You Think and a True Scientist but True yet so I Had like 22 of 24 People Come Back to What Okay Were on to Something Now I Need to Start Teaching Myself Now I Need to Really Start Educating Myself And It All Starts with That Starts with Just the Domino Effect And That's What's That's What I'm Doing Right Now Working to Be Talking A Lot about the Actual Science of Stuff and Disease States That I'm Helping Not Claiming But Supporting Supporting Exactly Just so You We Kind of Hit A Lot Of Different Topics Here but Said Some Things That We Can Carry over into the Next Hour That I Think the Listeners Are Really Liking at Your Approach Chris Which Is Basically You Said You'd You Should Become Double Challenging Dogma You and You Really Should If You're Going to Find Something That Doesn't Just Mean Looking at Hemp and Saying I Think It's Taboo but I Need to Find out More about It to See If I Can Change My Mind There's Also Incidents We May Say Hemp Is Everything but I Need to Make Sure That It's Everything That Everybody Says That It Is Absolutely and Then Then We Also Need to Talk about the Environment That Allows Us to Foster This Kind Growth Because There's a Reason If I Remember the Story Correctly That the Discoveries Made in Israel It Wasn't I Wasn't Able Only One Able to Have Those Kinds of Experiments Here to Find Indo Cannabinoid System in a Stateside Because Our Government Prevented That from Happening so the Fact There Were 9% of Med Schools It's Surprising That It's Grown That Much of the Same Time It Should Be Hundred Percent so We Can Get into Some Really Deep Topics in Terms of How Do We Carry This Message Forward How Do We Make It Available to More People How We Present the Facts of the People Know That You're Not Selling Them Snake Oil That You're Not Telling That You Know It It Fixes Broken Bones and Lowers Your Gas Bill Because It Doesn't Do Those Things Really Get Bored but Actually I Think Fixing Broken Bones Lowering Gas-Filled FDA and FTC Has No Problem with Those Claims but It Is That You and I Could Probably Make a Correlation to the Lower Gospel If I Wanted Regulator System Brings a Homeostasis You Don't Need to Turn up the Heater Comes to the Practical Application of a CBD Is Really Where Your Expertise Is Because You've Made This Journey Right You Made This Journey of I Don't Believe in It to This Is Incredible I Gotta Spread This News in the Right Way to Do so Would You Are Much More Well-Rounded Than I Was Anticipating This Is Really Cool You Got One of the Things You Get a Very Calm Nature but I Would Have This Nervous Energy about My Gosh I'm Sitting on This Just Amazing Thing Wire but As Everybody Get It But You Seem Very Meth Methodical about It I Should Say Well I Have I Do Have What Is Known As Very Laid-Back Nature People Been Thinking I Was High My Whole Life When I Want to Buy Weed from Me When I Didn't Have It so It's Just in My Nature but Absolutely I'm Very Thoughtful about How We Communicate This Because It's Important You Know There Is A Lot Of Weight To What Were Doing This Is a You Know Even Bigger Than the Internet Boom in the 90s and Skin to Change A Lot Of Things Now If You Think about It CBD And Him Could Replace the Entire Johnson & Johnson Catalog So That Hits on Something That We Can Deftly Take the Next Hour to Think That That the Listeners Have Got to Email about It Already That Specifically Want to Know How Can We Put Facts and Research behind Were Going to Do in the Next Hour We Can Deftly Talk about What It Is That a Medical Practitioner Can Do What It Is That a Consumer Can Do What Is in Allied Health Professional Can Do so They Can Better Spread The Message to Allow People That Are Suffering or Just Sibley Want to Improve Their Quality of Life and Him and Him Products to To Their Rather Daily Routine to See If They Can Basically Get a Better Balance so Homeostasis Homeostasis Act about Getting Back in Balance Well That Is Going to Wrap up This First Half-Hour with Chris He Saw Will Be Back Here about Four Penny Bright: Is New Zealand really one of the 'least corrupt' countries in the world?

In this interview anti-privatisation and anti-corruption whistle-blower, Penny Bright, talks on issues around the three Cs - Corruption, Contractocracy, and Corporate Welfare, as well as issues around the private procurement model for public services. Penny says the root cause of most corruption is privatisation. She asks why the Public Records Act is not being fully implemented and enforced in New Zealand. If New Zealand is truly 'the least corrupt country in the world' - shouldn't we arguably be the most transparent? She says public transport is not public, and asks what the implications are of a fuel tax. Penny has been involved in opposing the Tamaki 'Regeneration' project and speaks about dubious government and private dealings there. She talks on the murdered Maltese investigative journalist who exposed the Panama Papers and has found some disturbing New Zealand connections. Penny also speaks on State Capture, where private interests significantly influence the government’s decision-making processes to their own advantage.” INTERNATIONAL RULE OF LAW FORUM Penny Bright, was invited as a NZ 'Rule of Law' expert, together with nearly 300 attendees from 75 countries to the 2017 World Justice Project International Rule of Law Forum at The Hague. There she informed the delegates that New Zealand is a “Corrupt, polluted tax haven. She says, "My political 'bombshell' was about NZ's corruption REALITY, and in my opinion, New Zealand is a 'corrupt, polluted tax haven - a banana republic without the bananas'. I also stated that the Transparency International 'Corruption Perception Index' (which NZ topped 10 times, sometimes 1st equal) should be screwed up and thrown into the rubbish bin of history.” PRESS RELEASE THURSDAY JAN 26 2017 Penny Bright Independent candidate Mt Albert by-election says The 2016 Corruption Perception Index isn't worth the paper it's written on." She says, "This 'Corruption Perception Index' is not based upon measurable, objective yardsticks - but essentially the subjective opinions of anonymous business people." http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PO1701/S00171/the-2016-corruption-perception-index-isnt-worth-the-paper.htm “Here were objective, significant milestones or yardsticks for quantifying corruption REALITY, rather than relying largely upon the subjective opinions of anonymous businesspeople for PERCEPTION of corruption which in her view are a meaningless measure. I pointed out how in 2010 how I had attended the Transparency International Anti-Corruption Conference in Bangkok. Where we were told that the global procurement market was $14 TRILLION and the amount estimated to be lost in bribery and corruption was $2.5 TRILLION! I had a HUGE lightbulb moment! Wouldn't $2.5 trillion ($2,500,000,000,000, or $2.5 thousand billion) help to feed, clothe, water and shelter a few poor people? Then another 'lightbulb' moment - was that Transparency International were not looking at the underpinning private procurement MODEL, and only the private procurement PROCESS.” PRIVATE PROCUREMENT MODEL FOR PUBLIC SERVICES: As soon as you get into the private procurement (contracting out) of public services, formerly provided in house by staff directly employed under the public service model, you got into CONTRACT MANAGEMENT. Government or Council staff were regarded as not competent to do contract management - so a 'bureaucrats would then hire CONSULTANTS to 'project manage' the WORKS CONTRACTORS, who would then usually SUB-CONTRACT. So by the time you got down to those in the boots and overalls getting their hands dirty and actually doing something productive - you might have up to 4 layers of pinstripe suits clipping the ticket, while effectively doing nothing. How is that a more 'cost-effective' use of public money? Penny says, “In 2010, at the Transparency International Anti-Corruption Conference, I asked a (high-faluting) panel - where was the EVIDENCE that the private procurement of public services, that used to be provided at central and local government level, was more 'cost-effective' than former 'in-house' service provision? (It was like I had slapped the face of the person who was chairing the panel. He literally did a 'double-take' and mumbled that there was evidence - but none was ever provided.) My point to this 2017 World Justice Forum group - was that in my opinion, it was time to look at the whole underpinning private procurement MODEL for public services. ( IMO - it is the privatisation -private procurement - of public services which is the major source of GRAND corruption.” THE ROOT CAUSE OF CORRUPTION IS PRIVATISATION: Penny is one of the few people in the world actually saying that the root cause of most GRAND corruption- is PRIVATISATION. How is it decided who GETS the contracts? Remember - back in 2010 - the global amount estimated to be paid in bribery and corruption was $2.5 TRILLION! This is a BIG deal. The whole Neo-liberal myth and mantra - 'public is bad - private is good' upon which this massive privatisation of public services, locally, nationally and internationally was based - was NOT 'evidence based'. The BIG business globalists - just MADE IT UP! If there is no 'cost-benefit analysis' which proves the privatisation (contracting out of public services is more cost-effective' for the public majority of taxpayers and ratepayers - then it's 'CORPORATE welfare'. Penny asks the most pertinent questions. Shouldn't the public majority (the 99%) benefit from public monies - not a small minority of private corporates (the 1%)? While there is a punitive 'Social WARfare' /'War on the Poor' regime waged against the most vulnerable and disadvantaged, there is, a completely different attitude towards the rich' on 'corporate welfare'. Where exactly are billion$ of public monies being spent on private sector consultants and contractors? How can you check for 'cost-effectiveness' in the spending of public monies being spent on private sector consultant$ and contractors, if you don't know exactly where these costs fall? WHY IS THE PUBLIC RECORDS ACT NOT BEING FULLY IMPLEMENTED AND ENFORCED? NZ LAW is very clear on this requirement for transparency in public spending. The NZ Public Records Act 2005:. http://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/public/2005/0040/latest/DLM345729.html Requirement to create and maintain records (1)Every public office and local authority must create and maintain full and accurate records of its affairs, in accordance with normal, prudent business practice, including the records of any matter that is contracted out to an independent contractor. How can you have transparency or accountability without full and accurate records available for public scrutiny? The NZ Public Records Act 2005 has been the LAW for the last TWELVE years. Why is the Public Records Act not being fully implemented and enforced? Penny clearly states that the full implementation and enforcement of the NZ Public Records Act 2005, would transform transparency and accountability, and this should be an urgent priority for this new Labour-led Coalition Government. Penny’s call for transparency includes “OPEN THE BOOK$! CUT OUT THE CONTRACTOR$! BRING NZ LOCAL AND CENTRAL GOVERNMENT PUBLIC SERVICES BACK 'IN-HOUSE' UNDER THE GENUINE PUBLIC SERVICES MODEL! PURGE THE FORMER PRIVATE SECTOR BUSINESSPEOPLE FROM THE LOCAL AND CENTRAL GOVERNMENT 'BUREAUCRACY' AND BRING BACK GENUINE 'PUBLIC SERVANTS'. and STOP THE 'THREE 'C's! The CONTRACTOCRACY, CORRUPTION and CORPORATE welfare.” ------------------------------ FUEL TAX: In Auckland, what is being proposed is an Auckland Regional Fuel Tax, to help fund developments with 'public transport'. However - there is no such thing, as 'PUBLIC' transport in Auckland. The trains, buses and ferry services are PUBLICLY-subsidised, but privately owned, operated and managed, passenger transport operators. Auckland Transport won't reveal how many public millions are being paid to subsidise private passenger transport, on top of their private profits. Their 'books' are NOT open - regarding the millions of public monies paid to subsidise these private passenger transport operators. Penny calls to make Auckland Transport 'PUBLIC' again! Get rid of Auckland Transport as a CCO, and bring it back under direct Auckland Council control. And no Auckland Regional Fuel Tax! THE TAMAKI REGENERATION PROJECT: The Tamaki 'Regeneration' project - has proven to be a “HUGE GENTRIFICATION SCAM” pushing state tenants off prime real estate. Under the National Government the ownership of 2,867 properties from housing New Zealand were transferred into this Tamaki Regeneration Limited – a 100% crown owned crown entity company. This company then is on selling the land. Former Tamaki State tenants have been forced off prime real estate to make way for private mansions for the wealthy, and private profits for property developer. Penny speaks passionately about this, having spent months researching this issue and spending time on site with some of the tenants. Here is a video about this. Penny believes there should be an urgent parliamentary enquiry into the Tamaki “scam”. STATE CAPTURE A form of corrupt practice, which, in Penny’s opinion, is endemic in NZ, is 'State Capture'. 'State Capture' is where (corporate) vested interests get their way, at the POLICY level of government, in order to get laws passed that serve their interests. With whom are the 'policy analysts' consulting, before legislation goes through the Parliamentary 'sausage machine'? Penny says, “Check the Regulatory Impact Statements to find out.” PANAMA  PAPERS New Zealand in Penny’s opinion, is a corrupt, polluted tax haven. It was murdered Maltese investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia who 'blew the whistle' and twice exposed links between Maltese 'Politically Exposed Persons' (PEPs) and NZ foreign trusts being used for money-laundering, information that had been revealed in the Panama Papers. On 1 August 2017, the (former) Chair of Transparency International, Jose Ugaz, at a meeting of over 200 people at Rutherford House, Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand, stated that John Key should be investigated over the Panama Papers. 2 days after Daphne was blown to pieces in a car bomb attack (16 October 2017), it was announced that former NZ John Key Prime Minister would become Chair of the Board of ANZ. The ANZ bank is the Australian bank which had been mentioned more in the Panama Papers than any other Australian bank. Why no NZ mainstream media coverage of this story? Penny calls for an investigation of John Key over the Panama Papers! MALTA SCANDAL EXPOSES NZ TRUSTS AGAIN: It was murdered Maltese investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia who exposed, via the Panama Papers, how NZ foreign trusts were used as money-laundering vehicles by Maltese Politically Exposed Persons. The saga began in February 2016 when Caruana-Galizia revealed that Schembri and Mizzi had set up two Panama companies, Tillgate Inc and Hearnville Inc, owned by the Haast Trust and Rotorua Trust in New Zealand. In April 2016, the Financial Review published new details of Schembri and Mizzi's New Zealand trusts and their attempts to open a bank account in Dubai. A Malta magistrate is investigating the explosive claims of money laundering and corruption that have put New Zealand in the middle of a global cash trail from the family of Azerbaijan president Ilham Aliyev. President Aliyev's daughter, Leyla Aliyeva, is alleged to have channelled more than NZ$1.6 million to senior figures of the Malta government, including Prime Minister Joseph Muscat's wife. These include alleged payments to Panama companies owned by New Zealand trusts set up by the Malta Energy Minister Karl Mizzi and Muscat's chief of staff, Keith Schembri. On April 20, Maltese blogger Daphne Caruana-Galizia reported that she held copies of documents originally stored in a kitchen at Pilatus Bank, which showed that Egrant Inc, a mystery Panama Papers company identified by the Financial Review last year, was secretly owned by the Maltese Prime Minister's wife, Michelle Muscat. In March 2016, a Dubai company controlled by Leyla Aliyeva had transferred US$1.017 million (NZ$1.47 million) marked as a loan into Egrant's account at Pilatus Bank, Caruana-Galizia reported. Joseph Muscat denied the claims, calling it the "biggest political lie in Malta's history". Caruana-Galizia reported that other payments were made from Leyla Aliyeva's company to Pilatus accounts held by Egrant as well as Tillgate Inc and Hearnville Inc, two Panama companies that are owned by Schembri and Mizzi, through New Zealand trusts. The latest revelations, if substantiated, are an embarrassment for the New Zealand government, which announced an inquiry into its offshore trust laws on April 11 last year, the day after the Financial Review revealed details of how Panama law firm Mossack Fonseca's Malta agent, BT Nexia, began setting up Tillson, Hearnville and Egrant five days after Muscat's election victory in 2013. Mossack Fonseca's files were obtained by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung. New Zealand subsequently amended its offshore trusts regime, requiring foreign trusts to file annual accounts with the New Zealand tax office, but with no further restrictions. At that time, it appeared the Malta trusts had never been used, after Mizzi and Schembri's Panama companies were turned down by eight banks who refused to open accounts for them because they were Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs). The Panama Papers, however, show repeated cases of overseas investors filing false or implausible sets of accounts with New Zealand lawyers, who have limited means to verify the figures. NEW ZEALAND’S SIGNIFICANT ROLE: The latest wave of allegations in Malta underline how easily the New Zealand disclosure laws can be avoided, which the new laws do not change. If the reports are substantiated, they raise a far more serious picture of money-laundering, from one of the most corrupt countries in the world, in which New Zealand's foreign trusts played a significant role. We need far more mainstream investigative journalism and reporting on this issue. Here is a video of a small protest that Penny held in solidarity for Daphne Caruana Galizia, in Auckland on 3 November 2017. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Penny Bright has been arrested 22 times after being (unlawfully) denied speaking rights at Auckland City Council, mainly on matters relating to water. Four District Court Judges have acknowledged the 'Public Watchdog' role - so that is why she describes herself as a judicially recognised Public Watchdog' on Metrowater, water and Auckland regional governance matters. Penny has also been described in the NZ Herald as an 'anti-corruption campaigner' in the fight for more transparency and accountability particularly at local government. Penny Bright helped to set up the 'Stop the Supercity' group - which is totally opposed to the attempted corporate takeover of the Auckland region to run it 'like a business, by business - for business'. She hasn’t paid her rates for 9 years, and won’t until Auckland Council tells us how our rate payers money is being spent. See her Greenplanet interview about this – here. Having been a mayoral candidate three times, she has a public profile that people are bound to have an opinion about. Always campaigning with an element of humour, Penny signs her e-mails with, ‘Her Warship’. This interview was sponsored by The Awareness Party http://www.theawarenessparty.com/home/
