»Zeugenschaft« Ob und wie Fotografien die Wirklichkeit abbilden ist seit Erfindung des Mediums Fotografie Grundlage für die zugehörige theoretische Auseinandersetzung. Doch wie steht es um die praktische Auseinandersetzung? Wie nutzen Künstler*innen fotografische Elemente, um Zeugenschaft in Gemälden oder Skulpturen zu fingieren, Wahrheiten zu vermitteln oder Fiktionen Gewicht zu verleihen? Die Untersuchung widmet sich der ästhetischen Glaubwürdigkeit diverser fotografischer Produkte und derer technischen und bildnerischen Eigenschaften. Emma Rüther wurde 2000 in Wiesbaden geboren, studierte an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in der Klasse von Christopher Williams und ist Meisterschülerin von Sophie Thun. Sie untersuchte in ihrer Abschlussarbeit mit dem Titel: »Die Erfindung der Fotografie« die Arbeiten von zwanzig Erfindern aus sieben Ländern, die parallel und ohne voneinander zu wissen die Grundlagen für die Entstehung der Fotografie um das Jahr 1800 legten. Emma Rüther verankert in ihrer wissenschaftlichen Studie, die auf einer dreijährigen Forschungsarbeit beruht, die Entstehung der Fotografie in neuen Strömungen der Landschaftsmalerei, die im späten 18. In Vertretung für Dr. Christiane Stahl war Stefanie Regina Dietzel vom 20. bis 22. November 2025 zu Gast als Referentin beim INTERNATIONALEN FESTIVAL FOTOGRAFISCHER BILDER und hielt in Vertretung für Dr. Christiane Stahl einen Vortrag über eine Ausstellung von Jon Foncuberta in der Alfred Ehrhardt Stiftung Berlin. In ihrem Vortrag berichte sie nicht nur über die Ausstellung sondern erzählt, warum sie grandios scheiterte. Sie ist Leiterin Archiv der Alfred Ehrhardt Stiftung in Berlin. Stefanie Regina Dietzel studierte Kunst- und Bildgeschichte an der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. Sie absolvierte ein wissenschaftliches Volontariat an den Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin, wo sie im Museum für Fotografie 2019 eine Retrospektive des Fotografen Ludwig Windstosser erarbeitete. Zuletzt kuratierte sie 2023 die Ausstellung »Fortschritt als Versprechen. Industriefotografie im geteilten Deutschland« am Deutschen Historischen Museum. Vortrag: Kuratierte Wirklichkeit: Kunst und Dokumentation in Lee Millers Kriegsfotografie Ab 1944 begleitet die amerikanische Fotografin Lee Miller die 3. US-Armee bei der Befreiung Europas von den Nationalsozialisten. Sie nimmt zerstörte Städte, deren Bevölkerung und befreite Konzentrationslager auf. Einige Bilder sind aktiv gestaltet, andere sind durch die gezielte Anwendung künstlerischer Stilmittel und den Rückgriff auf kunsthistorische Vorbilder einer dokumentarischen Darstellung entrückt – es entsteht eine „kuratierte Wirklichkeit“. Dieser Vortrag entschlüsselt Millers künstlerische Stilmittel, diskutiert ethische Fragen sowie kunst- und fotohistorische Referenzen. Dr. Katharina Günther studierte Kunstgeschichte in Köln und Antwerpen und wurde 2019 mit einer Arbeit über Francis Bacons fotografische Quellen von der Universität zu Köln promoviert. Seit 2010 forschte sie in Dublin und London für den The Estate of Francis Bacon, die Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation und das John Deakin Archive. Ab 2015 baute sie als Projektleiterin in London die offizielle Website mit digitalem Catalogue Raisonné des Bacon Nachlasses auf. Bis 2024 war sie die Wissenschaftliche Geschäftsführerin des Forschungsverbunds Marbach Weimar Wolfenbüttel an der Klassik Stiftung Weimar. Gegenwärtig arbeitet sie als Kuratorin am Zentrum für verfolgte Künste in Solingen. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in der britischen Kunst des 20. Vortrag: Eine Frage der Flexibilität Mit der Dehnbarkeit des Fotografiebegriffs steht auch die Flexibilität des Wahrheitsgehalts einer Fotografie zur Diskussion. Sind analoge Fotoarchive die letzten zuverlässigen Bildzeugnisse? Aber wie groß ist der Interpretationsspielraum, wenn sie Jahrzehnte später gesichtet werden? Und können nicht auch Fakes das materielle Erbe einer ungeschriebenen Geschichte antreten? Selbst wenn sie keine indexikalische Beziehung zum Geschehnis haben, aber gut recherchiert und inszeniert sind? Künstler*innen und ihr freier Umgang mit Materialien sind eine gute Grundlage, um über solche Fragen zu reflektieren, reizen sie doch das Feld, in dem sie sich bewegen, ständig aus. Ruth Horak ist Kuratorin, Autorin und Lehrbeauftragte und befasst sich vor allem mit konzeptueller Fotografie und Fototheorie, insbesondere mit der technologischen und gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungsgeschichte des Mediums, welche Bildsprachen dabei generiert und welche Fragestellungen bei TheoretikerInnen aufgeworfen werden. Außerdem verfolgt sie, wie die Fotografie in Literatur und Film reflektiert wird. Mich hat nie interessiert, Fotografie zu erklären. Mich interessiert, ihr zuzuhören. Denn fotografische Bilder erzählen immer etwas über die Welt. Gleichzeitig erzählen sie etwas über uns selbst: darüber, was wir sehen, was wir übersehen und woran wir uns erinnern. Als dieser Podcast 2020 begann, war bereits spürbar, dass sich das Fotografische grundlegend verändern würde. Heute, im Zeitalter künstlicher Intelligenz und einer kaum noch überschaubaren Bilderflut, erscheint das Nachdenken über Bilder wichtiger denn je. Fotografie Neu Denken versteht sich deshalb als Gegenentwurf zur Beschleunigung: als ein Ort, an dem Fragen wichtiger sind als schnelle Antworten und unterschiedliche Perspektiven den eigentlichen Reichtum eines Gesprächs bilden. Es liegen systematische Übersichtsarbeiten vor, insbesondere zu Essverhalten, Körperbild und psychischem Wohlbefinden. Begrenzter ist die Evidenz dafür, dass intuitive Ernährung langfristig zu einer relevanten Gewichtsabnahme oder automatisch zum Normalgewicht führt. Auch die Aussage, dass nach fünf Jahren über 90 Prozent der Menschen wieder ihr Ausgangsgewicht erreichen oder darüber liegen, ist in dieser Allgemeingültigkeit nicht ausreichend belegt. Untersucht wurde die kurzfristige Muskelproteinsynthese, nicht der langfristige Muskelaufbau. Ein einzelnes Bier macht eine Trainingseinheit dennoch nicht wertlos. Er studierte Kommunikationsdesign mit Schwerpunkt Fotografie an der Folkwang Universität der Künste sowie Bildende Kunst an der École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Seine konzeptuell und forschungsbasierten Arbeiten verbinden Fotografie, Video, Text, Archivmaterial und Skulptur zu raumgreifenden Installationen. Im Zentrum seines Schaffens stehen Landschaften des Anthropozäns, Architektur, historische Weltbilder sowie die politischen und gesellschaftlichen Bedingungen von Bildern. Seine Werke wurden international in Museen, Kunstvereinen und Biennalen gezeigt. 2024 war er Stipendiat des Deutschen Studienzentrums in Venedig. https://axelbraun.org Peter Friese (*1952 in Siemianowice Śląskie, Polen) ist Kurator, Museumsleiter und Kunsthistoriker. Ich spreche mit dem Politikberater, Historiker und Russlandexperten Alexander Rahr über den Krieg in der Ukraine, die Motive der beteiligten Parteien und potenzielle Deeskalationswege. Mein Gast Alexander Rahr ist Osteuropahistoriker, Politologe und Publizist. Er ist Autor mehrerer Sachbücher, darunter Biografien über Gorbatschow, Putin und Medwedew. Achtzehn Jahre lang arbeitete er für die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik (DGAP). Von 2004 bis 2015 saß er im Lenkungsausschuss des Petersburger Dialogs, von 2012 bis 2015 war er zudem Projektleiter des Deutsch-Russischen Forums. Seit 2012 ist er zudem als Politikberater für die Wirtschaft tätig, unter anderem für den russischen Gaskonzern Gazprom. Seit 2022 ist er Vorsitzender der Eurasien-Gesellschaft in Berlin. Er ist Träger des Bundesverdienstkreuzes. Außerdem hat Rahr in verschiedenen Denkfabriken auf westlicher und russischer Seite gearbeitet und kennt daher die strategischen Ziele der Kriegsparteien sehr genau. In diesem Gespräch erläutert Rahr, wie sehr der langanhaltende Krieg den beteiligten Ländern schadet. Was laut Rahr, der sich seit jeher als Brückenbauer versteht, fehlt, ist der Dialog zwischen Deutschland, Russland, der Ukraine und den USA. Die fortschreitende Militarisierung und die damit verbundene potenzielle Eskalation schätzt er als ernstzunehmende Gefahr ein. Ein dritter Weltkrieg, der möglicherweise auch mit Atomwaffen geführt würde, könnte entstehen, wenn die grundlegenden Sicherheitsinteressen der russischen und der westlichen Seite nicht gewahrt würden. Es brauche daher zügig einen Dialog zwischen den Parteien und eine gemeinsame Sicherheitsarchitektur, die die Interessen aller Beteiligten berücksichtige, so Rahr. Aufgrund seiner umfassenden historischen Kenntnisse bietet das Gespräch neben einer Analyse des aktuellen Status quo des Krieges in der Ukraine auch eine historische Einordnung. Rahr gibt außerdem Einblicke in das russische Selbstverständnis hinsichtlich des Krieges. Seiner Meinung nach wollen sowohl die russische Bevölkerung als auch die russische Elite ein freundschaftliches Verhältnis zu Deutschland. Die hier geschürte Angst vor einem Russland, das imperiale Ziele verfolgt und möglicherweise NATO-Länder angreifen möchte, bewertet er als haltlos. ME/CFS, Myalgische Enzephalomyelitis/Chronisches Fatigue-Syndrom, ist eine neuroinflammatorische Multisystemerkrankung, die in Deutschland schätzungsweise 650.000 Menschen betrifft. Lange wurde sie unterschätzt und falsch eingeordnet. Durch Long COVID rückt sie zunehmend in den Fokus.
