Neuro Linguistic Programming and hypnosis are among the tools she uses to neutralize self-sabotaging behavior, unwanted patterns, and emotional triggers with the aim of increasing self-worth and self-esteem. The gang speaks fake Italian this week, as they review the British-American heist comedy, A Fish Called Wanda (1988) starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline, John Cleese, and Michael Palin. While not a Monty Python production, the silliness prevails, and the laughs come from both the obvious, and the subtle bits. Kevin Kline won best supporting actor as his role as Otto, and the film itself won a list of awards, in addition to being #1 in the box office. D-Fly and Dixie are back with a fresh episode featuring previews of the weekend’s key matchups and an interview with first-year Holy Cross head coach, JL Reppert. Reppert, who was announced as the Crusaders’ new leader on Jan. 22, clearly is not afraid to seize an opportunity. With postponements in both teams’ schedules this weekend due to COVID, he jumped at another opening and will guide his squad against No. 5 Syracuse on Saturday in the Carrier Dome. First, the fellas talk a little hoop before recapping mid-week games, including solid wins for Denver and Notre Dame. In News of the Week, Dan and Mark talk about a new No. 1 in the IL Media Poll, TD Ierlan’s arrival in Denver and the sad passing of Syracuse great Rob Kavovit. As they start reviewing this week’s key matchups involving Top 20 teams, they bring in Reppert for an engaging conversation that begins with him answering how and why he landed in Worcester. Among other things, the three guys talk about Reppert’s move from Maryland, how his game with the Orange came together and the challenges and opportunities ahead for the Holy Cross program.
The gang goes bat-shit crazy this week, as they review the insane Chinese action prison movie, Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky (1991). Submitted by listener, Brendan early in the history of the podcast. Over the top practical gore, cheesy dialogue, false eyeballs, opium dealers, shape shifting wardens prevail, to make Riki Oh a one of a kind B-movie for the ages. How did the gang feel about it? How do you feel about it? Watch along on on Tubi, then listen to us babble. The gang gets in and out of ultra sticky situations this week as we review the hard-R rated SNL movie, MacGruber (2010) starring Will Forte, Kristin Wiig, and Ryan Phillipe. Arguably one of the better SNL sketch series made into a feature length movie, MacGruber is 80's/90's action movie trope after trope, with ridiculous, dirty, foul mouthed comedy peppered throughout. And with Val Kilmer and Powers Booth in supporting roles, you have heavy weight acting, all wrapped up in a silly bow.
